Happy Birthday Matt Bomer <3

Neal Caffrey will be stuck in my heart forever <3
Last time I posted a Neal Caffrey - edit (nearly a year ago), I wrote that I wanted the show to return for a seventh season... and as I write this, the show has been officially confirmed to return <3 So excited to see Neal on screen doing mischief again! Also I guess i've improved my editing skills a bit as compared to the last time...eeee...IDK...
This is my first entry for White Collar Bingo hosted by @operationmorewhitecollar ...the prompt is Sculpting...the weightage of the prompt is really low in the edit...but I can assure you that further edits/art works will have a higher weightage of the prompt <3
Also I redesigned the bingo card with the exchanged prompts to suit my taste...I hope you find it pretty <3

This is a really cool project. I submitted a work!
Hey you! Yes, you!
Would you like your creation on display in a museum?
Would you like to help a super awesome PhD candidate complete her dissertation?
Would you like a great excuse to further procrastinate that thing you've been procrastinating?
All of these and more are great reasons to participate in Affirmation/Transformation: Fandom Created, an exhibition at Marquette University's Haggerty Museum of Art. (You do NOT need to be an artist, or even someone who creates art to participate!) Write a story, write a song, design a cosplay, create a fancy manicure, make a meme, make a stop-motion video, choreograph a dance, make a SuperWhoLock gif fic, or anything else your heart can dream up.
Your creation must follow only one rule: It must be inspired by a fusion of 1. any fandom of your choice, and 2. one of the featured Haggerty pieces (click the link to see them!)
Completed works are due July 1, 2024. The exhibition will run August 23rd-December 22nd, 2024, and will be available to view in person and online.
To see the Haggerty pieces, and to sign up to receive email reminders about the fan event, visit https://epublications.marquette.edu/fandom/Affirmationtransformation

Hi! I'm curious how you make such amazing gifs. I know you're talented & skilled, but what advice would you give to a beginner? (No, I'm not talking about myself :) I'm also curious if you've ever made fanvids.
P.S. Have a nice day 🌞
You're too kind! My gifs are pretty basic actually compared to what some people on this site do nowadays. I do like to keep it simple, both by personal aesthetic, and cause I can't spend half a day on a gifset.
Anyway, the main things for a good quality gif are:
Get a good quality video file, to start with. 1080p if possible. 4K if you have the hard drive space for it (I do not). 720p if you must, but the better the quality, the lesser the noise, the better the gif. I stick to 1080p.
Add a little bit of sharpness to, well, sharpen the image. Going from a 1080x1920 to a 540px wide image makes the gif a little blurry. Sharpening corrects that. Don't over do it though, or it'll look weird.
Brighten your gifs. The original images are 99% of the time too dark. So, do what you want (levels, brightness, curves, etc...), but tweak the colors. Cause I'm lazy I usually do a basic "level" thing, but it's worked well for me. For gifs and screencaps.
et voilà :)
Ah and yes, I made a few fanvids back in the days. Mostly for White Collar. I do enjoy it, but it's very time consuming. I do have a couple of ideas for DOC fanvids, but I need to find the time and the motivation. One would be to do a side by side comparison with the trailer of the US remake, cause some shots are uncannily similar. And the other would be a regular fanvid based on Charlie Winston's "I Love Your Smile". But again, fanvids are gigantic beasts. Especially when your source material is made of 3x16 episodes.
Thank you for the ask :)

I’ve had a YouTube channel for nearly two decades. The first video I ever posted was in 2006. It was a Power Rangers fanvid and while it’s not the worst video ever created, it’s definitely not the best. It was a weird choice of song (Spirit of Man from War of the Worlds) and some of the clips are badly trimmed so there’s a frame or two of the next scene/shot at the start or end in a few places.
Since then, I’ve made a bunch of other videos, music videos for shows or fake trailers for some of my fanfics (many of those fics were posted on sites that no longer exist). I don’t post often these days, but every once in a while I’ll get struck with the urge to make a fanvid for a film or TV show that I like. Recently, it’s been The Sandman and the Dreamling ship in particular.
In all this time, my YouTube channel has never been monetised. When I first started the channel, that wasn’t even an option, as YouTube monetisation wasn’t a thing on the platform until December 2007, the year after I posted my first video, and even then, I don’t think it was available for anyone to apply to once they hit certain thresholds the way it is today.
So yeah, when I started, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to monetise my channel. Then I had a real world job and my video creation dropped off and in recent years, I haven’t met the monetisation thresholds, so it hasn’t been an option and I haven’t given it much thought. After all, I didn’t start making silly little fanvids expecting to make money from them, and most of them would be demonetised anyway because of the use of copyrighted material.
But recently I checked my analytics out of curiosity and I’m within reach of those monetisation thresholds. I got a load more views than usual around October and November last year for no reason I can see. There’s an obvious bump in the watch time analytics for a couple of months before it drops down to my usual trickle of views. I’ve no idea why it happened or why it stopped, but it was enough of a bump that I’m now at 3997 hours of watch time for the past year, with the monetisation threshold being 4000 hours.
Given how close I am, it feels like I should try to push to meet the eligibility criteria and apply for the YouTube partner programme, just so that it’s an option for me if I want it. And I clearly need to do it in the next few months, because I don’t expect to replicate that spike in views from October. But over the next month or two, getting 3 more hours of watch time than I got in the same time period last year feels like a realistic thing to achieve, even if almost all of my videos are under 5 minutes long.
Especially if I actually tell people that I have YouTube videos. So here I am, telling people. If you enjoy fan made music videos, please consider giving some of mine a watch.
Here are a few of them:
Ranger Spirit, the first ever video I ever posted on my YouTube channel, made in Windows Movie Maker, with all of the mistakes and badly trimmed shots:
youtube
One of my recent videos, Meet Me On The Battlefield, for The Sandman fandom:
youtube
Sticking with Neil Gaiman for the time being, an ineffable husbands video for Good Omens season 2, What Hurts the Most:
youtube
The video that got the most views during that weird spike in my analytics, I Don’t Deserve You for the show White Collar, focusing on the relationship between Peter, Neal and Elizabeth:
youtube
And for a silly challenge I gave myself, I tried to use footage from Dirk Gently’s season two to create a trailer that looked like a serious fantasy film. That was not easy, given how ridiculous the armies looked:
youtube
My channel has absolutely no consistency in terms of what I post. I will make videos for whatever happens to grab my attention at the time, so across the lifespan of my channel I have fanvids for Yuri on Ice, the MCU, Teen Wolf, Charmed, Voltron, The Chronicles of Narnia (both the old BBC TV show and the films), Doctor Who (and spin offs), X-Men, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, The Sentinel, The Tribe, and more Power Rangers than feels comfortable now given my age. If any of those grab your attention, please take a watch and help me hit that 4000 hours threshold.

Since it is now the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness/ spooktober/ holiday of your choice, it is absolutely time for.....
::drumroll::
Exorcist appreciation week!
It's for fans of the show, non-fans who might be interested, non-fans who aren't remotely interested, people who follow me and don't know why, and is generally an excuse to celebrate this little show that means so much to its fans ("the bastards don't get to win" are words to live by, is all I'm saying).
From the 23rd to 29th October, I will be reblogging gifsets, fics, fanvids - pretty much everything I can get my hands on - loosely organised under 7 different headings with the tag 'exorcist week 2023'. If anyone wants to make something for this week I will a) lose my mind and b) reblog it until the heat death of the universe.
The 7 days look like this:
Day 1 - favourite dynamic i.e. tell me all the ways in which Marcus and Bennet are exes, or how Kat and Casey portray accurate sisterhood, or all about Harper fitting into the Kim household
Day 2 - songs; this can be songs from the show that you love, or something you associate with the characters, or a spotify/youtube playlist based on a specific mood. I will try not to take up too much time looking at all the ways "I will call you by name, I will share your road" from Hopeless Wanderer by Mumford and Sons is the central thesis of the Marcus/Tomas relationship.
Day 3 - art; this can be fanart OR it can be art you associate with the show. I'm very fond of The Meeting on the Turret Stairs by Frederic William Burton, which is giving me a lot of Marcus/Mouse feelings, or the demon with Marcus's face tempting Tomas a lá La Belle Dame Sans Merci by John William Waterhouse
Day 4 - favourite moments; your chance to gush about Mouse threatening Bennet into taking communion, or Casey picking up the book of exorcism to help Tomas, or Rose's kindness etc. etc.
Day 5 - headcanons; so many headcanons, so little time. Tell me them all.
Day 6 - things you wish we had seen onscreen in canon; how many burger joints do they stop in on the 6 month road trip between season 1 and 2? does Marcus know anything about separating darks and whites in the laundrette? does Tomas leave his collar off on purpose and how does he feel about it?
Day 7 - season 3 and beyond; how do you think their reunion would've gone onscreen? How does Tomas cope with having both Mouse and Marcus around, given their history? Does Bennet recover? Let your imagination go wild :)

11 and 13!! 💛
Thanks Emily <3
11. Would you like to try any new fanfic genres or tropes this year? Already answered, but yes, I want to try to write an Art Heist AU, you know White Collar crime fic
13. Aside from fanfic, are there any other fan works you’d like to try creating? Fanart, or fanvids, gifsets, or podfic? I mean, I already write and make gifs. I would love to paint again, not sure if that would be even fanart, but it would be nice to start again

Yayy!! It's Caffrey - Burke Dayyy
youtube
instagram
Missing our boys on screen but also yeahhh so eagerly waiting for them to reunite <3
I'd love to watch the FBI Dad reunite with his "scintillating" Son.
This edit is for Caffrey Burke Day 2024 and White Collar Bingo held by @operationmorewhitecollar
The prompt is Paranormal, so I chose the song Ghost by @whoisconfetti
You can see this edit as Neal's ghost haunting Peter or as Neal's act of ghosting haunting Peter...your choice <3
Also not me adding "you're the only one who saw good in me...you're my best friend" to the song. I feel like it's such a banger now 🤐...I mean at least for me...i've listened to this version of the song soooo many times while editing that i can't listen to the original version anymore...i just start singing "I'm a ghost...you're the only one who saw good in me...now you see my now you don't...you're my best friend" 😬😂😭

Shall we play a game?
Nope, not chess or Parchisi. And not even global thermonuclear war. (If you get that reference, you might just be as old as we are!) But no, none of those games are where we're headed. This year, we're hosting a good old-fashioned game of bingo!
That's right, since we're almost two weeks into the new year, we thought it might be time to roll out our new creative challenge, which will continue throughout 2024.
As always, we're in the market for any and all fan creations centered on White Collar, and this year, we're providing prompts in the form of mini bingo cards, with new prompt cards coming out quarterly. (Jan, April, July, October) If you want to play, just let us know (comment here, dm, however you want to get in touch), and we'll get you a card so you can get started!
Some details:
When we say "any and all fan creations," we mean it--let your creativity run wild and make whatever you want to make! Draw, write, paint, record a podcast, shoot a video, whatever your creative preference.
We're using a 4x4 card format, and there is a FREE space, so that means a total of 15 prompts for three months. Complete a line of prompts, get a bingo; complete the whole card during the quarter, and that, dear friends, is a blackout!
Much like our drabble prompts, the bingo prompts are pretty broad, and many (maybe most?) are only one word. They run the gamut from theme words to genre to story length and beyond. (Not to worry if you're making art or some other non-written creations; we've got provisions for swapping prompts.)
Prompts were randomized to create the cards, and the card numbers were randomized to create the distribution order, so the prompts you end up with are strictly luck.
Okay, that's probably the most important stuff to know, except, of course, that we hope lots of you will join in and that everyone has tons of fun creating new White Collar stuff, because we're sure going to have fun seeing whatever you make!
So whenever you're ready, shall we play a game?
(We'll put a few more detailed FAQ items below the cut, but if you've got questions we didn't think of, just let us know and we'll make up an answer.😉)
Q: What can my entries be? A: Any type of creation you choose. fic, art, blog post, essay, cross-stitch, we're not picky. Interpret the prompts any way you like, in any genre, any relationship, any rating, any characters, you get the idea. (Unless, of course, the prompt is more specific.) As long as it's White Collar, it's fair game.
Q: Where do we share our work/how will you know we made something or got a bingo? A: First, put your creations somewhere we can see them! There'll be a collection on AO3 where most types of work can be shared. (We're debating if it's better to have just one collection for the year or one for each quarter; if you've got any opinions on that, feel free to weigh in.) If you're sharing here or on other socials, be sure to @ us, and use #WhiteCollarBingo. But, while we'll be doing our best to keep up, we're hoping there will be so many entries we'll lose track, so definitely tell us if you completed a bingo!
Q: Can I make one story/picture/video/etc. for the whole card? A: You may use as many prompts as you like in each entry, but only 2 prompts per line may be counted toward a bingo. (So you will need at least two entries to achieve a single bingo, and though we may have miscounted, we think that means at least ten entries to make a blackout.)
Q: Are crossovers allowed? A: Yes (and may even be a prompt!), but White Collar should obviously be prevalent in your work.
Q: How long do I have to complete my entries? A: We'll be issuing new cards each quarter (Jan-March, April-June, July-Sept, Oct-December), and in a perfect world, we'd like to receive entries within that quarter. But you know we've never been sticklers for schedules, and the point is to encourage more White Collar creations, so we'll be glad to get them whenever you finish.
Q: What do I win when I bingo? A: Bragging rights, and your name on our (soon to be created) bingo accomplishments page.
Q: What if there are some prompts I really don't want to use, but I want to try for blackout? A: We will provide a max of two alternate prompts. (This max does not apply if you're making non-written creations and somehow ended up with a card full of writing-centric prompts.)
Q: What if I just can't work with the card I receive at all? A: We'll exchange your card one time. Part of the fun is stretching our creative muscles.
Q: If I exchange my card, will any previous entries count toward bingo on my new card? A: Nope. It's a fresh slate, so examine your card when you get it to decide if it works for you.
Q: If I complete my card, can I have another? A: Yep, and we'd be very impressed! (and happy!)
Q: Where did these prompts come from? A: Many suggestions from our followers, and we've been hunting and gathering, too. But we want to have lots of variety as the year rolls along, so please keep those suggestions rolling in.
Q: Can something I made for another challenge count toward a bingo prompt/Can I submit my work to more than one collection or challenge? A: As long as it's new work, and if the other challenge doesn't ask for exclusivity, bring it on! And frankly, we'd love to see more White Collar activity in multi-fandom spaces. Also, we'll surely be hosting other events throughout the year (at least Mozzie Mania and Caffrey-Burke Day), and you can certainly use a bingo prompt for any of those challenges as well.

Thanks for tagging me @forever-flying-silver!
Three ships: In honor of Ace Week, I'll go with platonic ships. White Collar: Neal & Peter. Schitt's Creek: David & Alexis. The Good Place: Janet & Michael.
First ship: that would be lost to the mists of time, but a particularly impactful platonic ship was fueled in 2008 by watching fanvids set to angst rock for Psych featuring Shawn and his dad; wanting to fix that relationship eventually inspired my return to writing original fic
Last song: Broken by Seether & Amy Lee -- yes, that was one of the angst rock songs that had a Psych video featuring Shawn and Henry: https://youtu.be/FxIM-DZUDXk?si=BNUqpyiAjgrQYehm
Last movie: The Wild Robot
Currently reading: Just finished Somewhere Beyond the Sea, and now doing a re-read of Defekt by Nino Cipri. Thinking about borrowing a full-cast audiobook of either Hamlet or Macbeth next to get me into a Halloween mood.
Currently watching: Syfy's The Ark
Currently eating: trail mix
Currently craving: chocolate
I'll tag: @thesymphonytrue, @ascreamintothevoid-blog, @versatilehorizon234, @r1ver-6, @abraincellandahalf, @silelda, @fructo, @youngshinxjunghoo, @theofficialkai517, @anodyneer, @bardtothebone, @thieves-never-say-die

9 people you want to know better tag
Three Ships: Zelink (Zelda/Link, Legend of Zelda), Shirbert (Anne/Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables or Anne With An E) and Locklyle (Lucy/Lockwood from Lockwood and Co)
First Ship: i joined tumblr in 2017 for BoTW Zelink and all of my fandom experience spiralled from here. i started playing LoZ games before that though, maybe 2008? and there was a fanfic tab (though it wasn't called like that) on the help website i used
Last Song: ......... "Last Night - Official Madison Song" by Chris Anderson and DJ Robbie (it's on my summer playlist bc of childhood nostalgia, i don't go out of my way to listen to it usually 😂)
Last Movie: Maze Runner: The Death Cure (justice for Newt)
Currently Reading: book wise, I just finished The Two Towers (and am not so patiently awaiting Return of the King to, well, return to the library so i can borrow it)
Currently Watching: Once Upon A Time (nearly done with S1)
Currently Eating: waiting for my dinner to cook (ratatouille and semolina and eggs)
Currently Craving: CHEESE. my kingdom riches gratitude for a scrap of french cheese!!!!
