Some supplements have their time and place, but if you are reaching for supplements before you spend any time and effort dialing in your nutrition you’ve got your priorities mixed up 😬 ... Just like you can’t out exercise a bad diet, you can’t out supplement a bad diet either. 😩 - You might be prone to reach for supplements if you are not wanting to focus in on your food or if you are feeling frustrated with your results. - I highly encourage you to be patient and to first focus on staying within your calories/macros,( this will depend on your goals ) getting adequate protein from Whole Food sources, and eating whole, nutrient dense foods. 👌 - Once you have these things dialed in. ( for more than a day or two cmon now 😉) then you can re-visit whether you want to try supplementation if you feel like you are not getting enough of something from your diet💪 - Some supplements that may be worth looking into if you find your diet is not sufficient is: Multivitamins, whey protein isolate, essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA), vitamin D3, creatine monohydrate, and last but not least.. my personal favorite— caffeine ( yes it can enhance performance but it has its limits. )😉 - In a nutshell— there is still no quick fixes. One hell of a day
Started out the day working a partial shift before going into the VA for an appointment. During my shift I finally had enough of an abusive asshole of a preceptor.
While I have very little experience in the dialysis field, I’ve been an ER RN and a Paramedic my entire adult life so I may not catch every little nuance of my new field of choice, I’m no fucking dummy.
My preceptor has a whopping year and a half experience as a RN. She was extremely nice and cordial to me, that is until I’d told her at least 10 times that I didn’t want to “hang out” with her outside work.
Then she became passive aggressive and started micromanaging me. Then she started knowingly withholding pertinent info from my orientation. I had enough today and just told my manager to assign me a different preceptor. I’m sick of playing games and take my damn job seriously.
Then, after my appointment I was close to a WhileFoods and stopped in. I saw a millennial in an ACLU shirt handing out flyers and engaging people in discussion. When I came out he asked me to come over to chat, so I obliged.
“We need your help fighting the Trump Regime.” Holy shit, this was going to be the perfect end to my day. So I decided to play along and act like I was a dumb fucking liberal.
I’ll finish this up later tonight.
