It's been more than two entire years since I finished BaL and now I'm using mobile data at work to be angry about Veils. Okay so. Here's the thing.
When it hunts, Veils paints itself as a beast. It tells you it's only natural for it to kill, that its appetite must be sated, that its confinement down here is to blame for its actions. This creature, who controls the silk industry in Victorian London, claims instinct is its only motivator and to accuse it of strategy or power-hunger is absurd. But when you want to kill it? Then of course it's an incredibly complex being, so much higher on the chain than you, with plans and strategies beyond your feeble human mind. The whole point of the narrative Veils paints around itself is to both excuse itself of accountability and lift itself above the very idea of being fallible, by manipulating its image to fit either mastermind or animal as it sees fit. And people fall for it. I'm not going to yuck anybody's interpretation of the story (very genuinely I love and value differences in that across players) but I see very very few people acknowledge Veils as a political threat or essentially member of government, and many more focus on the monstrousness of it and the role of instinct in its reasoning.
Bag a Legend is in many ways a story about "violence begets violence", about cycles and corruption, but it's also (as many many stories in Flondon are) a commentary on authority. Veils is, at its core, an authority figure who extended its role from political violence to at-will physical violence against its own charges. Its base role, even if it hadn't become the Vake, is violent. It is heavily involved in the Great Game as well as controlling a vast chunk of London industry, and was actively negotiating the purchase of the Sixth City when the PC killed it - a political action in the interests of the Bazaar that would have killed a vast swathe of people it has no reason to care about beyond as a resource. Even if it had never sunk claws into a person, it would still be violent and extremely dangerous. April knows it, the nuns know it, but it seems a part of Veil's strategy is to get any prospective hunters to forget about that part of its role only when it's convenient and remember it only when it's intimidating.
Incompetent when questioned and all-powerful when threatened. The parallel to real-life corrupt authority is just. Infuriatingly familiar. Excellent job, Failbetter.

Hey..
Um.
You already know what’s up.
—————
I just really wanted to post something, and I’m pretty content with how they look. I could definitely do more but life is catching up to me and I’m not doing well rn lol. I probably will do an actual background and their proton packs! Since it looks kind of silly without them, they still have the straps on that are attached to… Nothing. But you didn’t notice that. So, ya.
Anyways, I think they’re really neat. I love them.
Prob gonna watch Ghostbusters tomorrow anyways
Sorry if this is giving you crazy whiplash :,3
Enjoy
Love ya
ALSO DON’T BE WEIRD THEY WERE FIGHTING STAY PUFT
Art is by me ———————> @sillyboycam <3

Working at the theatre is weird.
I love our ensemble so much. I think about them all the time. Every evening I'm in awe of their talent. I'm their biggest fan.
At the same time we chat before the show. We send each other stupid memes in our group chat. We spend a lot of time together, talking, drinking, partying. We are friends... kind of... I think?
It's so surreal?! How can I be friends with these incredibly talented people?

I love how long moon's cloak is, bc she floats so doesn't need something that is easy to walk in so it can be super long to be all fancy and ceremonial. But it's also funny to picture her trying to walk and tripping over it.
YES ACTUALLY! Hah this makes me so happy someone noticed.
All of my iterator designs have very long or heavy clothing which looks all nice and flowy and ceremonial, but it would make it impossible for them to walk. Moons cloak is MASSIVE, Pebbles' and Grey/Chasing's robes are very long and something they'd stumble on or drag, Suns, NSH and Innocence have super long scarf/decorations that would drag and be sooo awkward to walk with (UI's little floaty thing is longer than her height...)
And honestly I headcanon iterators can't walk! Like at all. So it doesn't matter.
Their legs are there for looks not for function. At most they can balance while staying still awkwardly, but that's about it. They weren't made to exist outside their cans.

I think not enough people give scott smajor enough credit in secret life. I've seen a lot people hate on him, because of his passive play style, saying it's boring and that they don't like it that he is constantly in the top 5(which, by itself is pretty toxic, these are just a bunch of people having fun in minecraft). But like, all of his 3 deaths were sacrifices, he sacrificed his green life to Martyn, his yellow for gem, because he was one of the last yellows, and then his last to gem, so she could win (she didn't, but she tried). Like, he intentionally didn't want to win again, he helped Martyn, the first red, and then his ally, the newcomer. I think Scott is awesome)

Btw if y’all don’t know much about Tiefling diets, let’s just say any tiefling character in BG3 would be dropping weight so fast. It isn’t a calorie issue, it’s simply the actual food. They can eat normal food fine, but they prefer/should eat primarily raw or mostly raw meats, and definitely enjoy the occasional helping of things like bone marrow, blubber, and even just plain blood. They are capable of subsisting off only coal or ash and sulfur. But give them those cabbages you scrounged or the pumpkins near the tollhouse in act 1 and they’ll eat it, but will not be happy about it or fully fed.

The only thing more stressful than writing emails is writing emails in a different language. God I hope I'm saying what I think I'm saying. I really really hope.
