Hey!! Are you over 18 and in the miraculous fandom? Then this is for you!!

Hi everyone, this is my last semester of uni, and one of my final projects to be able to graduate is to write a scientific paper. I'm writing an article about adult fans of children's animation, specifically Miraculous Ladybug. My goal is to understand what makes adults (like us) want to join fandoms centered around shows aimed primarily at children, and to do that I'd love to hear directly from the source! I love how pandas are so entrenched into my theming and personality now that my mom stopped in the middle of her errands to buy me a panda onesie because she saw it and immediate knew I'd want one

#for the record I have previously expressed a desire for a panda themed onesie. about four years ago #but I also am known to wear onesies and have around 6 of other animals #so it's absolutely a testament to the panda thing again #also my mom came home and her first words were “Im the best mom ever”#(to which I responded “well yeah but I feel like ur saying this bc something prompted it?”)#((and. indeed getting a panda onesie after 6 years of yearning for one. we took pictures for the family gc and everything))#like we have to put it in the laundry first so it wont shed on me too much but I did wear it for like 5 seconds #and I'm still happy and hyped from those 5 seconds #and. for the record. pandas aren't even my favorite animal to any particular capacity #like I like them fine enough? but my favorite mammal is absolutely feline and my favorite animal overall is probably a bird #unfortunately can't narrow it down more specifically bc all felines are awesome (Im big on lions and caracals personally)#(but tigers and leopards and lynx and domesticated and all are also awesome!)#and. idk. all birds are great #Im usually fond of water birds (that are not waterfowl) like kingfishers #recently a bit more vibing with the local fauna tho. so rn Im in a wagtail phase #and as always corvids never miss #and also like vultures and passerines #other birds also cool but typically thats where my interests lie #sometimes also birds of prey. usually falcons but I did have an eagle phase as an 8 years old so yknow #happy posting #:D

I just want to get a permanent job that I can do and that I don't totally hate, in a location I can hopefully enjoy?? I just want to get an apartment and a dog??? I don't think my dreams are that crazy????? Why do they seem impossible to achieve???

i wish my brain worked.

#I can't take ADHD meds because i'm schizoaffective. which means i have almost no motivation ever and can't focus on the little things #i only ever see the big picture and can't narrow it down. it's impossible for me to work on myself.#i want to be organized and have a bit more of a schedule but i can never stick to it. forming habits and routines isn't possible for me.#i wish i could utilize my time more effectively i wish i wasn't always tired i wish I didn't struggle so much to do simple tasks

does anyone have tips for how to deal with the phenomenon of 'autistic need to sort and hypercategorize things, except that there are multiple different axes by which to sort them and you can't use them all at the same time, and the result is overwhelm and distress?'

i've learned that tagging systems help, at least, but sometimes they uh. sometimes they can only go so far

#whosebaby talks #whosebaby makes things #whosebaby does game dev #ttrpg tag #i first wrote up that nightmare of tags when i only had three or four hacks in progress lmfao #looking at it now there are some i think i could narrow down a bit but it still makes me itchy #and with how much bleed and overlap there tends to be with different hacks and systems #it can be really inconvenient and disruptive to separate them completely for ones that have multiple drafts and test run docs #the tagging system i use on here is pretty damn loose by my usual standards but keeping track of game dev in the way i do it #kind of needs a lot more careful distinction and along multiple axes #the alternative is pretty much just one big soup which works *okay* but can still be overwhelming and a hassle to keep up with #anyway this is not remotely the only thing this applies to and Suffering Squirtle especially when urge to sort physical objects #and it's also annoying when it's something harder to quantify like #'i'm genuinely really having fun with this test scene/campaign and want to continue it' vs 'ehn. don't mind not picking this one back up'#sighs #also yeah i have. i have a lot of balls in the air here lmao #this doesn't include the i think like 5-10 docs i made on gdrive before i switched to the notes app because the formatting sucked to use #and the above folders also don't include things like the divination stuff i've made #me with nerve damage that makes handling physical tarot cards painful; making a dice table instead: try and stop me asshole #is there a name for that tag

Today's fanfic writing adventures: reading adademic articles on human sacrifice in Gaul written in French, because dictionaries of mythology all include some weirdly specific details about how the sacrifices were carried out that I couldn't find an actual source for, and this french guy seems to be The leading expert.

I do not speak French

But that's okay, because he cites most of the authors he's drawing from in the original latin, rather than translating them

I also do not speak Latin

But after a couple of hours with translation software and vague memories of my french gcse (which included very few, if any, words relating to human sacrifice or pre-christian pagan religion) I can now confirm...

the article also doesn't cite an actual fucking source for this

continuing my trend of doing literally anything but studying when i should be studying, here are a few blackout pieces i did of russell potter's transcript of the peglar papers. taken from pages 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

#the terror #bees speaks #also think of the ellipses as stanza breaks or as transitions between different poems #they function as a break in concept #except the one between O and tertell. i just forgor about that one #& i did the whole thing but these are the bits i liked best!#plus i just left the c the c the open c as it is i couldn't take that one apart i love it too much #also this was a fun exercise as half of it is illegible anyway #so i got to choose which bits to keep AFTER i'd narrowed it down to legible pieces #but also got to play the game of 'can i make this fragment of a word carry meaning here'#it was quite fun #this is less important but i also tried to relate it to the events of the show #in somewhat chronological order. thus john faithfull ashamed & the kindness turnd dirty & etc.
