I've always imagined Lan Fang to have either a younger sister or a much older sister who moved to the women's side of the Cloud Recesses before he was born, but I haven't put much thought into what she or his parents would be like, except that Lan Fang received his mother's family name so that he could become an inner member of the clan (his father is a non-cultivating carpenter who spends most of his time working on commissions at his workshop in Caiyi).

So, I'm in that stage of making everything around me about 9-1-1 and I got my driver's license last week after months and months of getting prepared and seeing the different reactions my family had around it so I thought: What if Chris wants to learn to drive at some point? How are the rest of their family members going to react?

I know he is like 12 now but if the seasons keep on coming we might get a 17 year old Christopher and if they decide to share this kind of experience I would happily cry so here is a list of types of reactions I got from my family and who I think will match it in the show:

- Supportive borderline forcing: This was the first reaction I got from my grandparents when the topic of me learning how to drive came up, they did a lot of research and even paid my classes with some accommodations for me to be as comfortable as I could with this, even when I got to the point of the anxiety getting to much and wanted to quit my grandma sat next to me while driving and gave me tips and never allowed me to stop (it felt a little like forcing me to keep going, she insisting that she is getting old and would like me to drive her places at some point, but it was all a joke and if I really wanted to they would have no problem with me not getting my license, they did the same with my sister and she never sat in a car after the classes they also paid because she didn't like it) and they are basically the reason why I have a driver's license now. They insisted it was for my independence and, worst case scenario, to have it in case of emergencies. They gave me their car to practice and stayed with me all the way.

For this, I'll like to say abuela or Pepa could take this place, if only for the fact that it was my grandparents that did it for me, but I also feel this all screams Buck, so maybe him too.

- Having problems giving up control: Yes, it sounds bad but let me explain. This was my mom. She insisted that she wanted me to learn but almost cried the first time I was living for my first class and made me doubt a little bit if I was ready or not. The first time I drove with my family I made the mistake of having her in the passenger seat and the second the car moved an inch she screamed like if we were about to crash and everyone agreed that she isn't allowed in the passenger seat when she is not driving because she stresses the driver with her stress. This is the kind of person that acts like if you were in a racing car when you are going like 20km/h, graving themselves to the seat and walls of the car, over indicating stuff ("There's a car coming from your right, let them pass", "The light is red, you have to stop", etc) that the driver already knows but it comes from a place of having to trust other people with things you already know how to do, specially if you know they don't have as much experience as they do. It's the most annoying type of people to have next to you while learning but they also have the best tips and would spend hours explaining how to improve some things (she taught me all about priority, like in an intersection who should pass first, some parking tips, to listen to the car)

This is completely Eddie, I'm sorry but I feel like he is the type of doing stuff on his own and won't trust anyone else unless they have more experience than he does, which is why he would trust Buck having in consideration he drove a lot and even then it took him some time to get relaxed with him (this is hc but idk)

- Learning with you and sharing tips: My sister, her boyfriend and I started driving classes at the same time, the same instructor came to our house (they live next to my house so ha basically spent an hour with each of us and picked up the next one in the same place, it was really handy for him too) and took us for a drive but we had 5 classes to learn the basics and then it was all practice on our own until the exam (which, by the way, we got the appointment for 4 fucking months later so we had to do a lot more practice on our own that we would have liked) so we basically experienced the streets together. Because we were learning at the same time, we would notice some stuff that may be normal for experienced drivers but it wasn't for us and we shared with each other to know what to do (like, reference points while parking, how to talk to other drivers with the lights to thank them or indicate to them that they should pass you) and being overall the moral support that understands what you are going through.

This could probably only be Harry or Denny, bc they are around the same age, but it's nice to have at least someone like this at the start so if this does happen in the show at some point I would like Chris to have someone like I did.

- Someone who recently got their license: this is similar to the other one but it's not someone learning with you but teaching you what is going to happen. Most of the time is useful but can also scare you because they talk about the exam they have to pass and you think "There's no way in hell I'm passing that" but it also guides you to what to get better at. They might remember more about the theoretical or practical exam but they have tips that are always welcome.

I feel like this would be May but literally anyone that remembers the type of exam they took is useful and the more povs they provide the more confusing it is because the exams vary depending on where you take them so it's a lot of "prepare of everything" kind of thing but it allows to clear some doubts and can be a "You are going to do great anyway" kind of support although I also got it from people younger than me that was basically like "oh, you haven't got it already? When I did?" And it feels kind of bad but no experience is always 100% good so idk, feels like a need to have

- Being supportive from afar: This goes to family members that kept constantly checking on me and my progress during the first lessons because my closest family love to brag about little things and achievements so there was the usual call with someone I haven't seen in years and them asking how I was doing, depending on my will to share or the kind of relationship I have with them I would have lied saying that I was going fine and sharing something I learned ("I haven't crashed yet so it's good" or "I had to maneuver between parked cars and a patrol car, I think i did a good enough job there") or be honest and say I'm not liking it a lot (this almost never happened but I did the "I want to quit because they want me as a chauffeur" or "I probably won't drive much, I'm just doing this to day I have the knowledge to do so, like learning a language that I won't use because I don't know anyone that talks it")

This would definitely be the Diaz parents or sisters only that they would specifically call to ask about it instead of casually asking on a call that wasn't about the driving in on itself. I feel like Helena and Ramon might ask out of worry and to be sure that this is a good idea because they do not trust Chris specifically but that's because I don't like them a lot so it might not be like that and they are actually supportive.

I also got a few people mansplaining and amazed that I was driving just because I'm a woman, which won't happen to Chris bc of that but might happen bc of the CP and it's annoying but it's life (I had a few males stop me while learning how to park specifically that gave me tips while I clearly had my mom with her 30 years of experience but they probably think they know better and so they explained me how to do it themselves, and I had a neighbor stop my grandma and go "Oh I'm so in favor of women driving" that sounded a little bit too much as clarifying that you are an ally just to get attention and like she owned the street I was parking on and wouldn't allow me to do it if I wasn't a woman fighting against patriarchy only for driving (which I'm not and I have that it's still a novelty that woman drive but that's off the topic)) so he probably would get people minimizing him, very ableist, and faking support just to have a little bit of spotlight. I hope that this kind of people didn't exist but if they are none of the main characters would be them so this is just the negative mention for someone that won't be there for long.

I think I'm rambling too much now so I hope you see my vision, I just was very overwhelmed while learning how to drive and seeing how everyone does so so effortlessly was kind of annoying and triggered a little bit of impostor syndrome bc maybe driving isn't for me if I struggle so much, but it would be nice to have him learning and it not being a perfect "sit down in the driver seat, now you are free to go anywhere" like everyone makes it to be and this show likes to do that kind of stuff a lot so here's my confort hc for now <3

omg I loved it!! Like overall it was so beautifully done and u can really see it was done with care and thoughtfulness! it follows the timeline chronologically pretty well although it kind of goes 2010 to 2016 and then skips to 2019 to 23 so that gap kind of stays unknown but it is said that those were very difficult years for louis.

it starts with the 1d stuff and it goes pretty deep in how louis lived the beginning and the end of it! like we hear the story of how he didn't sing at all in wmyb and how he had worked with the producer for the 2nd single and they worked hard to get his verse right and then in the final cut he found out that they had given it to harry (😑) and how at that moment he felt like no matter what he did it wasn't gonna be good enough :( but that's also how he started writing bc all he ever wanted was to feel like he had a place in the band :( and then it cuts to 2015 and their last performance and there's a very telling video of him after the performance and he was so fucking sad (also I wonder what that footage was for ? bc it looked like they were making something then too) and in the voice-over he says that he was feeling angry and lost bc he felt like he finally had his place and he didn't want it to end (!!!) and then OLI MY BEST FRIEND!! says how only certain band members wanted it to end but louis didn't (we been knew but I'm glad oli is well aware and not scared to say it) and then we even hear lottie and his grandparents talk about the huge loss that losing 1d was for him.

I actually found it interesting that they had that first segment about 1d then right after his mom and then felicitè and they talked about all of those as the most important losses of louis' life so u really can see how big of a loss the breakup was for him :/ it was truly a part of him

then there's the part about his mum with his grandparents talking and I legitimately cried when his grandpa was talking bc it was all so sad and touching but also u can really feel how much they LOVE and admire louis and in general in all the family clips and interviews u really see how he is the core of his whole family and how much he loves them all. it's so beautiful

I loved the bits with his sisters too! the twins talked about how much he looks after them and how sometimes he's a bit too much but it's only bc he cares so much :(( and lottie said "he was made to be a big brother for many sisters " and I was like SO TRUE !!!! he literally is ! and helene called him GENTLE AND KIND !! which is also SO TRUE 😭😭 I love him sm

also I was surprised that they talked more about felicite bc he never said anything but God :( lottie talked about how louis and her tried to help her and how guilty she felt bc she couldn't and how louis must have felt it even more 😔😔

and in the middle of all of the parts there's oli interviews which are the best bc he truly gives such an insight on louis and like u can totally see why they're so close !! he understands louis a lot ! and he even says his job is to try to keep louis' life together lmao 😭😭

I loved the part about the beginning of the walls era bc u see how difficult that was for him and many aspects of it was stuff that we didn't know about! like there are clips from some of the earlier promo performance where Louis says that he hated it and hated performing and u can really see how much he beat himself up for his mistakes and that only starts changing with the ccme performance and then only at the Scala gig he's like I actually loved that!! I was really surprised about that like I had guessed from his stage presence and in general by everything that he wasn't really comfortable but he literally says taht at one point he couldn't wait to get out :(( and helene is like that's what u need to work on bc u actually love singing!! and u can see how it all changes with tour and how much she was right bc his voice keeps getting better as he gets happier mentally <3 the body truly does keep the score of our trauma!

I also loved the band bits and u can see how significant it is for the guys that louis sleeps in the same bus as them and involves them in day off activities and how tight and loving the atmosphere is on tour

also the fans interviews were lovely!! I especially liked a segment they did on how fans formed friendships and lived great experiences through the fandom and louis! u can really see how much louis loves that and it's beautiful bc it just reinforces one of louis' core messages which is how important people and love are <33

the entire Freddie segment was BEAUTIFUL it is the part that my non louie friend was most impressed by bc u can really tell how much louis loves him and vice versa, also how important Freddie is for him! and he's such A GOOD DAD!! so loving and affectionate, he is always telling him that he loves him and asking for kisses and it was so 😭 that kid will be such a wonderful person. and louis even showed him that he was crying after the la show bc he saw him in the crowd ! :(( truly beautiful (and great parenting especially for a boy!)

there wasn't a lot about his career difficulties (as I expected) but it's still hinted at that he had more than one issue with the labels and all that side of things :/ also found it interesting that helene mentioned that people in management etc in 1d didn't like him bc they thought he was arrogant and wanted to be the front man when all he was arguing for was just Equal and fair opportunities and even his grandparents talk about how it wasn't fair how he was treated in the band and that even if louis didn't talk about it they could see it hurt him... sigh

I'm sure I'll remember more as soon as I post it but for now I think that's enough skdk it's beautiful! it's telling and it's real ! go watch it and enjoy louis in all his wonderful aspects!

also there are the parts about liam at ccme and niall in Mexico and they talk about when louis went to see him etc and it was interesting how niall seemed awkward in front of the camera talking about it lol? meanwhile it was sad when louis watched liam the first night and then louis was in his room and he asked if he'd stay to watch him but liam had to fly to LA :/// kind of explains how all of them have treated louis for all these years tbh, maybe that's what triggered that apology from liam and tbh louis definitely deserves one from all of them .

Character dynamics are chefs kiss and the humour is on point. Yuuta's power of love is the funniest thing I have in a really long time. Every time it shows up has me cracking up. I read it this morning and will probably reread it three times before tomorrow even though I have an exam coming up. Every character really feels like themselves which I really appreciate.

As an aside do you have any thoughts on Toji's parents? Iirc his dad was naobitos brother and wondered if they added anything to megumi's feelings about the zenin clan.

Megumi doesn’t actually know who in the clan are his grandparents.

There was sort of an internal power play when they found out that it was Toji’s kid who inherited the technique. Normally, it’s a huge boon to have the ten shadows come from your bloodline, but I imagine that Toji’s parents bent over backwards to distance themselves from him. For one thing, he had absolutely no cursed energy at all. For another, he turned into the sorcerer killer and killed the star plasma vessel.

They formally disowned him and his descendants a long time ago, when Megumi was still an infant, and Naobito used that as leverage to swoop in and say he had the best claim on Megumi. He made the purchase; he was clan head; he was Megumi’s uncle by blood. He had the right to raise the ten shadows and bring him into his household. Tojis parents would have no contact with him.

It was a huge, bitter bitch fight that was going on simultaneously with the custody battle with gojo. Tojis parents lost a lot of political mobility when their kid turned out to be a total failure and then the killer of the star plasma vessel. Raising the ten shadows was their chance to reclaim their own relevance. But they had already severed their ancestral claim to him by disowning him, and Naobito had made the down payment on Megumi’s purchase from his own funds, and he was clan head. He ended up winning the right to claim megumi as a member of his household, and it’s openly acknowledged that he would have raised Megumi as his heir if gojo hadn’t intervened. It’s part of why Naoya was so terrible to megumi.

Megumi doesn’t have any real feelings about his grandparents in particular. He doesn’t know them, and they obviously don’t want to know him if they couldn’t pop by to say hello when he was literally living in the same compound. All he knows is that they’re still alive, had disowned his dad and him a long time ago, and he wasn’t allowed to see them. He just takes it as another sign that the Zenin don’t give a shit about him and only ever fought for custody to spite Gojo. They’re supposedly his closest family, and they hated him so much they disowned him as a baby and refused to ever see him? That was just more proof that the entire custody arrangement was just designed to hurt him. They obviously aren’t driven by love of their own blood.

My other oc group did not get too much attention, but that okay, my ocs are made for me, anyways it’s gotten me in the mood to talk about my other incredibly self indulgent ocs, this time my group of superheroes

Now, the set up is v specifically the future (and a ton of it a homage or whatever to DC characters and stuff because this is my self indulgent stuff), like decades after the first superhero group was formed and now their group is composed of mainly the grandchildren from that first group

Which “grandchildren” doesn’t sound like that much time has passed, but with the main group’s powers including some kind of “slow aging” power, which their children inherited, and the grandparents and parents both had their kids way later in life, it’s actually been a significant amount of time since the first group was first formed

That first group is something like a legend to people, not only was it unheard of for superheroes to even exist before them, but they had done a ton of good fighting for the rights of everyone, like mutants and stuff, leaving everyone with this hugely idealized version of what they must have been like as well as leaving behind huge shoes for their grandchildren and other young heroes to fill

The reason why their parents didn’t have those shoes to fill is because the original group was still around when they were fighting, so no one was expecting them to take over, but eventually by the time the grandkids grew into crime fighting age there was only one of the original heroes left (I’ll talk about them in a bit)

There’s actually been a ton of older heroes disappearing, everyone has been chalking it up to either their age or they just “weren’t as good as the originals,” and it’s been happening slowly enough over time that it hasn’t raised any alarm bells, so now for the core group there’s only young heroes that are still technically minors (so like a young Justice League) and that one original hero who is still left behind

I’m not gonna get into every member because that would take. forever. so I’m just gonna talk about a few of them, starting with:

The Main Hero’s son (yeah I still haven’t named some of my favorite and longest lasting ocs, sue me.), essentially the Main Hero is like Superman except if he were a huge fucking dick, not evil, just a dick. He was seen as the leader and founder of the group, and it’s his legacy that everyone tries to live up to (he was actually a bully and all the heroes he worked with hated him, but he did do crime fighting well)

Anyways this is about his son, yeah a majority of the other characters are grandkids, but Main Hero had a way better slow aging power and only had his young son left. So his son is almost a perfect carbon copy of him, same powers, same looks, but even though his son tries to do everything to live up to his dad’s expectations, the truth is, he’s not actually sure he wants to be what his dad wants, which is for his son to become the new leader of the group

Unlike everyone else in the group, this kid was never actually given a choice on whether or not he even wanted to be a hero, much less what kind of hero he wanted to be, most of his struggles are of trying to be a leader to the group when he’s not only bad at it but he hates it, trying to figure out happened to his dad (disappeared recently, his disappearance is what starts to make people think something is up), and who his mom is (hidden parentage, as far as anyone knows, Main Hero didn’t have a wife)

Next is BB (nickname to make it easier to tell everyone apart through text), I call her that because when I think about her, I just straight up think about Bumblebee (she was one of my favorites in the og teen titans cartoon), she is actually a mutant and a granddaughter of one of the first mutants who became a hero (her family actually has normal human life spans so those grandparents became heroes some time after the group first formed), she has formed a lot of her hero identity around the Main Hero, because again everyone looks up to that guy and his legacy, and he was known as being such a great hero

She’s actually a natural leader and a much better choice than the previous kid, most of her struggles come from everyone (civilians, not those in the group) wanting Main Hero’s son to take over, but she doesn’t want to just step aside and let him have the title when not only is he not a good fit, but she wants to show how far mutants have come along that the core hero group has a mutant leader now, she’s also struggling with finding out that the hero she’s spent her entire childhood looking up to was actually a huge fucking douche who built his platform on seeming like he cared about vulnerable people when he actually didn’t

Next is a character sort of based off of M’gann (Miss Martian from Young Justice League) in that she’s an alien with mind reading and flying powers with a sweet and shy personality, but that’s where the similarities end, I picture her more as with blue skin, not those other powers, except slow aging by human’s standards, and instead of having an uncle who was part of the main league, she has a grandpa who was part of the main core group, but he wasn’t one of the original members, he joined later on, and he went missing when she was just an infant

Due to alien reasons, her family has no hope in her accomplishing much as a hero*, and she wants so badly to live up to her grandpa’s heroic name and be someone he would be proud of

(*I know it’s not the same, but explaining the alien stuff of my made up universe would turn this from a long post to a way too long post, so the best way to explain, continuing with the M’gann way of looking at her, it would be like if everyone in the family had been a green Martian and she was born a white Martian (I know that’s not how it works in that universe but bear with me), except hating her for being a “white Martian” is just a personal family thing instead of a cultural planet thing)

What she doesn’t actually know is that her grandpa, before his disappearance, loved her unconditionally and actually favored her over every other family member, he saw her birth as a sign that he did something right, due to alien cultural reasons, he considered her good luck

She’s also exactly like him in personality when he first started off as a hero

The only person who knows this is the last remaining hero of the “golden age” who was best friends with that man, and it kills them inside that his granddaughter is exactly like him, and they just miss their best friend so much

I know I said I was gonna talk about that hero, but (even tho I call the other hero Main Hero) this one actually is like,, the protagonist to me, and I have way too much I wanna talk about them with, so I’m just gonna schedule this post and maybe continue it with more info on that character another day!

Anti-woke laws are about protecting comfort of the dominant group

18 states have passed laws banning concepts, authors and books from schools and libraries, and 26 more have proposed such laws. 

I live in Florida and the Stop Woke Act bans teaching concepts that suggest “a person, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the person played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, national origin, or sex.” 

Florida also passed the “Parental Rights in Education" bill, which is more commonly known as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill because it bans public school personnel from conducting classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity in “kindergarten through grade 3″ and in later grades it’s banned if it is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards." But there are no state standards!

These laws may sound vague, and that’s purposeful. In practice it means the discomfort of the dominant group (white people and non-queer people) is guarded against.

We won’t learn about actions and policies that discriminated against people of other races. Not because this didn’t happen, but it may make white children uncomfortable to know they benefit from the legacy that benefited their white parents or grandparents. 

This is true for learning about the experience of people of other races, immigrants, or gender. 

In Florida schools we now refuse to acknowledge that there are some boys who love boys, or that some children have 2 moms. Teachers are told to remove a picture with their same-gender spouse. Queer people are considered unsafe for children to know about.  

This is problematic for several reasons. 

For one thing, if minority groups don’t learn about past practices that discriminated against their relatives & ancestors, what they are left to conclude is because their parents and grandparents didn’t work harder is why they are worse off in comparison to their white peers. Another point is if we don’t understand how we got to our present situation, it feels like it’s how things naturally are and we don’t know how to address the issues that caused our current problems and disparities. 

Finally, it’s a form of erasure. Queer people aren’t real, or queer people are dangerous, they shouldn’t be seen and known. 

On top of these general laws are those which specifically target trans people for discrimination and to deny them health care which is approved by every major medical organization. These laws are forcing families to become refugees in their own country as they find ways to flee to states where their trans children will be safe. 

The history of this time period will point out the unjustness of these laws and the harm they did...but only if you live where somewhere it’s allowed for such history and its implications to be taught

For a while, we watched Sofia the First because “ayo if i was little i know kid me would’ve been into that shit” and we were right. Banger songs, Cedric is a great scrunkly with a ton of Ls. Gr8.

But thAT’S NOT THE TOPIC. IM GONNA BE TALKING ABOUT ELENA OF AVALOR. THE PEAK FICTION SISTER SERIES that hasn’t left my fuckin mind since we watched it alongside our Sofia run. Elena is what you get after you graduate from Sofia. We finished it weeks ago yet we still go back and rewatch eps.

And the weird thing is, people are aware of Elena’s existence — but have also never actually watched her series? Or at least I never see anyone mention anything beyond surface level. So!! Here’s an informal 10 paragraph long (mostly spoiler-free) premise synopsis copy and pasted from when I bombarded someone on discord about it [I SAY MOSTLY BECAUSE ONE CHARACTER IS A WALKING SPOILER I cant avoid this, thank god it’s one of the first things learned]

… But I gotta begin with Sofia the First 🤡— I PROMISE IT’S RELEVANT. Gotta talk HER premise first-

Sofia is some regular villager whose mom marries the King of her country Enchancia. She was a girl in the village doin’ alright, but then became a princess overnight. Her new stepfather gives her the Amulet of Avalor, an artifact that was passed down for decades in his family. THE TWIST? It sEcRetly has magic!! (Note: Sofia is the only person who knows it’s magical.) The magic gives her the power to talk to animals, and basically whatever the plot dictates. But the amulet is also cursed.

After a series of unimportant events irrelevant to Elena, and one single important one— Sofia finds a magic book that has a wizard called Alacazar in it, and he tells her that a princess has been trapped inside her Amulet for 41 years, and essentially has been trying to escape. Sofia is apparently the only person who can help her. This leads her and her family to going to Avalor and figure this shit out.

And she does.

This is where Sofia’s relevance more or less ends until further notice.

[41 YEARS AGO]

Once upon a time there was a kingdom named Avalor, and there was a princess named Elena. She lived with her parents the king and queen, little sister Isabel, Abuela, Abuelo and her cousin Esteban.

On her 15th birthday, her mom the Queen gave her the Amulet of Avalor as a gift.

Then a nondescript amount of time later, an evil sorceress named Shuriki invaded Avalor and murders her parents in front of her, and starts taking over. Elena tried to personally stop her, only for Shuruki to try killing her too. Shuriki’s assassination attempt fails because Elena’s magic amulet protected her by pulling her inside of it. Elena is fully sentient in her stupor.

After witnessing that happen, the then Royal wizard Alacazar takes action and seals her grandparents and Isabel a magic painting to keep them alive.

The royal family is officially deposed and Shuriki is becomes dictator of Avalor for the next 41 years. Meanwhile the only surviving family member, Esteban, works in servitude for her. (IMPORTANT GUY. REMEMBER HIM)

Meanwhile, Alacazar travels the world with the Amulet of Avalar to find someone who can free Elena (because the amulets power to too strong and godlike). He eventually gets too old to go on, and seals himself away in a magic book to keep himself alive, while the Amulet itself somehow ends up exactly where it needs to. (The specifics of how it ended up with Sofia’s stepfather’s family are unclear, but it becomes an heirloom of sorts)

And we circle back to Sofia, who finds out the Amulet has Elena in it thanks to Alacazar’s spirit telling her in the first place after she finds his book.

Sofia goes to Avalor, blah blah, she frees Elena, they depose of the dictator, free her family, and alls well that ends well.

Elena lets Sofia keep the amulet because she’s seen enough of that fucking thing.

The end

OR IS IT??? All of this (sans Sofia) is recapped in the first episode of Elena. The actual pilot episode that goes into all that junk is in Season 3 of Sofia the First as a 3-episode long special. YA DON’T REALLY NEED context on Sofia to see that, BUT!! It’s nice anyway. (Tho episode 0, imo, absolutely should be seen first for prime context. Also the beta-designs and mild jank will be less jarring)

One last teeny tiny thing. Too important but it’s part of the premise literally dropped in the pilot.

Esteban is the reason why Shuriki invaded Avalor in the first place. And he is indirectly responsible for the deaths of his aunt and uncle.

When he learns that Elena and the rest of the family are alive and Shuriki gets defeated, however, he does not bring this up. Claiming he had no choice but to serve her in order to survive. This is knowledge the audience is given while the family remains unaware.

As a result of being the only one not magically sealed away in that 41 year long reign, Esteban is the only person who aged at all. Everyone else is the exact same age they were when they were first put in stasis. This is relevant.

This is a show for 6 year olds.

Okay that’s unfair, it’s for anyone.

I left out a lot of smaller details (that are very relevant), like the spirit guide fox thing, Alacazar’s grandson Mateo being someone to help Sofia— junk like that. But for broad strokes THIS is the important stuff.

THERE’S A LOT IM OBSESSED WITH- the character animation is genuinely really good. Like, hello?? And it actually gets better as it goes on. They got all kinds of stuff to look at in the background. The designs? Peak. Gabe means the world to me. Songs? Bangers. THE OVERARCHING NARRATIVE?? They actually GOT 3 seasons to build and finish so I— 🤧🤧. There’s a body count in this show. Elena kills somebody, this is not a joke. I love Elena, I love her friends, I love her family, fuck. I love the worldbuilding I LOVE anything that utilizes mesoamerica in it’s lore, fuck.

I think about it more than I should.

((He's an only child, so no siblings close to him lmao. If he did have siblings, though, he'd most likely be the youngest.

He does have a cousin who's only about six years older than him, and I haven't decided if his other cousin has kids lmao. Her kids, if she had any, would likely be closer to his age, though.

He's pretty close to Miozenne, the cousin that's six years older. She (and her sister) is adopted, so while they haven't known each other for their whole lives, they've still spent a significant amount of time together. I kind of picture little Lenar following after her like a baby duck when she was first adopted and her being Very Confused lol. Just like "why is this six year old so interested in me???"

Of course that's just on his mom's side alskfhelsdh. All I've figured out about his dad's side is that his dad has an older sister, but outside of that I don't know what her deal is. It doesn't really matter since Lenar's had pretty much no contact with his father's side of the family for his entire life, and is unlikely to really get to know anyone on that side until after his grandparents die.))

starting off with the kotovs! this is the only one containing named grandparents because Lubov is at her base loosely inspired by 1P nyo general winter, so she gets to be there. technically all my russian grandfathers are named at least b/c i've got everyone's patronymics sorted out but god that would've gotten messy.

i tried to keep siblings in order of age but that didn't always work out. maxim IS older than konstantin, but yevgeny is older than asya. there was an option to add birthdays so i'm not sure if that would've shuffled things around but i didn't have the patience for that so it's FINE.

i'm not fully set on zhana and tanya being only children, though they are right now. i've thought about sergey having more cousins on his mom's side of the family before but hm. i don't know.

debated over making yevgeny maxim's son still in this au or making him [bio dad]'s son; i've drawn him as a changeling before but like is that really a good enough reason to scooch him around. really there's no good reason for any of this, and asya hasn't addressed having a half-brother in fallen, so i finally decided to leave him on the changeling side of the family. THEN i debated making asya and yevgeny full siblings instead of half siblings but. no. i've fucked up things enough as it is.

no idea what sergey's family's surname is in fallen. it can't be kotov/kotova because that'd make no sense. maybe i just make it lebedev/lebedeva and just make it so zhana kept [bio dad]'s surname. i don't know. i don't know!

ANYWAY the orlovskys! the lighter line connecting ivan to the belyakovs indicates they're his foster parents, with the rest of that family not showing in this screen. i tried to edit the two trees together but i don't think it was super clear. ivan had a lot of foster families but the belyakovs were the ones he was the closest to, so it felt important to include them in his tree. avdotya and kseniya had some foster families as well, of course, but i haven't thought on them much beyond the fact that the kids didn't stay connected with any of them.

i wanted to include the bryants, another family crucial to ivan's development/backstory, but they only let you add a secondary set of parents, no more. alas. the bryants actually adopt him in at least one AU (doctor horrible au) so i feel bad not having them on here but alas!!

alyona and nikolay being only children is canon, and both of their parents predeceased them. the orlovsky kids didn't have any living relatives after the house fire, aside from each other.

and then the belyakovs! again, they had several foster kids over the years, but ivan's the only one that reconnected later on in life and stuck around after that, so he gets to be in the tree. he's got complicated feelings about considering himself part of this family tbh but he's ON THE TREE.

idk if klara and ilya are only children, so there might be cousins out there i haven't sorted out. if i do come up with them i'll update this post, but for now it's just them. my parents have three siblings each and i've got uhhh i think. eleven cousins i think? so these trees seem way too small compared to my frame of reference. which is why i'm overthinking the aunts/uncles thing a bit. it's fine. it's fine

it's an in-joke in this family that after madigan and erin, it's just all boys all the way down. madigan has four sons, erin has one son, shea has two sons. they thought grant broke the streak at first but then lyle came out and order was restored.

lyle is technically cian's first cousin once removed but cian just refers to him as his nephew. i think that's not uncommon for that familial connection? doesn't matter, that's his nephew.

i think flynn might also be married but i know he doesn't have any kids yet so i'm not too pressed to name his spouse. eamon's a mystery to me.

cian's tree can also get fucked up a bit depending on the AU, since there are AUs where arthur is his brother. i don't know how that works out with [gestures at tree] all this but oh well.

So the general thought of having siblings to me:

As I said I have a single mum so even when I was little and friends would say their getting a little brother or sister it never felt like something that could or would happen so I never thought about it as everyone who did have siblings had 2 parents if that makes sense.

It was never something I wanted either, I was more then comfortable with it just wing me and my mum and I would hate to have a sibling. I've literally had nightmares about it in the past (ik it sounds silly but a few times I have) where there's been a younger child and I've been forgotten about. Even if everything else was the same I would dislike it cause I (no offence to anyone) hate babies and toddlers, like I babysit kids sometimes but only ones older then like 4 or 5 cause babies just annoying me, all they do is cry, look weird and the idea of changing nappies is disgusting.

Also as u mentioned cousins, I have 2 cousins one is literally a day older then me, same year. I feel like we would've been really close considering age if it weren't for their parents. When we were little they would never let anyone but them hold him and he went round our grandparents and nannys(great grandmother) house way less often then me even tho we both lived pretty close. Therefore I would only see him if we happend to go round grandparents house on the same day and at Christmas, he didn't even have birthday parties. He has autism which my aunt and uncle denied until he was about 6ish even though all of the family could tell and told them to get Jim diagnosed so they could manage it better and help him since we were toddlers (part of the reason they could tell was our age meant they could see I was learning to walk, talk ect earlier then him and the general way he would act compare to other kids) he is in a autism specific school now and it has definitely helped him alot, were not super close and he doesn't talk much when we see them (we moved to the other side of the country so only see when visiting grandparents) but you can tell he is fond of us(why does that sound weird) he just shows affection a different way. It's just that even without his autism he was very closed off by his parents and we aren't as close as we could've been.

And see, I'm Southern, we always have big families. My mom has 3 siblings, my grandmother had 7 siblings and 3 step-siblings. Like, we have huge families

But total honesty, that's still so interesting to me to hear from small family people. And I don't mean in a condescending way, it's just genuinely fascinating to me because it's hard to imagine not having literal dozens of cousins and family members, so it's just so foreign to hear it from people with small families

i'm insane I wrote down some of my headcanons for how Sam and Max's lives were like as they grew up. It's long and meaningless

How Sam and Max meet has two possibilities, the 'max beats up a bully for sam' or the ' their families knew each other'. I'm a bigger fan of them meeting through the bully story, but I think it's possible to make it so their families do have some history together. I think some members of their family know each other and maybe sam's parents encouraged sam to go play with the kids of the lagamorph family but sam was probably like 'nah i dont want to, im going to play with my computer'. The friendship just happened one day after the bully incident, they had probably seen each other before at a distance but never really spent time together until that day. They got along perfectly of course.

Sam's parents are sweet and cute and Max does spend more time in Sam's house, but sometimes they go to Max's house which is just full of siblings, but I like to think maybe Max's grandparents also live there and perhaps cousins stay over a lot. Basically a house where a lot happens all the time so it can be fun to hang out there sometimes but not ALL the time. I can see Max's mom being a single mom after divorcing Max's dad not too long ago, which is why Max's cousins visit a lot, cause his aunts and uncles try to come over and help her out when they can. Kind of a crazy household right now, so he stays over at Sam's house more often.

Sam's parents adore Max so they are happy to have him over practically everyday, they think he is funny and are happy to see someone that helps their kid open up more and do more than to stay on his room with his computer.

Sam is still a nerdy kid though, he just has a nerdy friend now. Nerdy for different reasons but they both are the weird lonely nerdy kids on school. Not that it bothers them too much cause they are happy simply being together.

I don't think Sam and Max ever cared about 'popularity' or any preteen/teen drama, I think their whole thing is that they were probably already fighting weird creatures they found on the school's parking lot instead of caring about highschool drama. They were two funny cartoon characters trapped in a regular highschool and no way in hell are you going to make them act like regular human teenagers

Sam probably had crushes on some girls sometimes but never did anything with that, he just thought 'oh that girl is cute' and then never did anything about it cause he is insecure sure but also i don't think he had any motivation to start a relationship, he is too busy fighting creatures on the school's parking lot with max. I think Sam only tried dating when he becomes an adult, but even then those relationships don't last anyway.

Max has always known he is gay before he knew gay people existed, he just didn't understand why a guy is supposed to have a crush on a girl, and he told Sam immediately and they are both very casual about it. Once they become preteen/teens is when they find out what gay people are and they are like 'ooooh' but they still say the 'he doesn't like girls' thing cause they are used to saying that. Maybe he didn't immediately realized he is gay (I see Max as aromantic so maybe he just thought he didn't like anyone) but the whole kissing Sam's cousin made him realize 'oh yeah i am gay' (he is arogay hope this helps).

Max is very openly gay as we all know, but when it comes to Sam, at first he just makes jokes about them being together but never tries to actually be genuine about his feelings. Sam is in denial about being bi, he thinks he is straight mostly cause he doesn't really think about this stuff, so he just assumes he is straight.

I do see Sam as a trans man, I think he might have focused more on his gender than on his romantic attraction, so once he figures out he is a man he just thought 'okay now that im done with gender i guess im straight! no need to question this'

Sam and Max's relationship is a casual but super interesting slow burn inconventional relationship. They don't immediately start dating, it takes so much time, so many sam&max gay compilations before they finally sit down one day and realize hey something gay is going on here. Telltale sam and max for example takes place before they realize, 100%, it's part of the appeal of the telltale games honestly, it's one of the reasons s3 is so heartbreaking and full of metaphors.

I do think there is something very aspec in Sam and Max's relationship and I don't think that goes away when they confess that they are gay for each other, Max is still aromantic, I kind of see Sam as ace and maybe on the aro spectrum too, and I think it's important to them that just because they are together it doesn't mean they have to act differently. They don't have to act like how 'couples do' they can just be themselves but a little gayer this time.

But oh yeah let's go back to their past. Sam went to college for a while, I have no idea for what though, maybe some engineer stuff idk, but it didn't last. Max never went to college, but they had a small apartment together in this period of their life so they never were really apart. One day they stop some evil entity from another dimension like how they usually do sometimes and think 'hey you know what. we COULD turn this into a job.' and that's what they do. maybe they were expecting this to only last a couple of weeks but were surprised that this was actually working out and cops were not stopping them (they tried, but they still got away with it lol). So slowly they began to take it more 'seriously' as in, getting an office, painting their car a different color, things like that.

So the next chapter is where the surface gods meet her. Constance has the same domains as Persephone and Anubis and some extra doamins. Those domains are family, food, warriors, Graveyards, gardens, Precious metals, rocks and ponds also kids.

She is called the grave mother similar to the reason why Persephone is called the pale queen or kore.

The basket has doll which are like the reborn dolls and she is holding one since in the story she lost both her newborn twins the twin kids only live for 30 minutes Zagreus was born last but died first but revived, last making him the youngest twin.

caduceus was born first and died last and born first.

Cornelius takes the role of hades in the story. Yet he runs after his wife and corrin It takes the role that is in the game as the overworked, mean and very distant family member of our protagonists. Hades and Colton has disappeared but latter and Persephone now lives in the underworld. They are the grandparents of Zagreus and caduceus. Macaria is their child. Melinoe is the older sister a twin to calliope. Clarabelle is older than caduceus and Zagreus.

Mel is at the crossroads looking for both her mom and her brother.

I would like to think he does. Maybe on his mom's side, maybe? Like, they live in the United States somewhere. Maybe in a state that's somewhat far from the Canadian border which explains why he hardly ever sees them. Like maybe he has some aunts or uncles or cousins living there. Or maybe even one, if not both, of his grandparents on his mom's side. He's not very close with them as he is with his grandma Evelyn since she's the only nearby family (besides his dad) he has and knows.

His full name is Vladislav Andreevich Kostromin-Zelenskyy

He's Russian but one side of his family is of Ukrainian origins (I would bet it's on his mom's side but it's me guessing)

He has a twin brother - Viktor (go check @rtmkf 's OC!)

He boasts to everyone that his family sausage recipe is the best in the world (makes sense because when we see Vlad for the first time he's eating a sausage! So, in my mind, one of his family's businesses involves selling sausages on city fairs)

Now I would like to dedicate this part of the post to a slight episode analysis. I sort of gave Vlad's family members professions based on the things we can find on his cart (don't ask me about their names I'm not there yet lol). Let's take a look.

First, I would like all the readers to appreciate the cart itself. Vlad said it's been in his family for generations, so it's impressive how amazingly it was preserved to this day! This leads me to the thought that Vlad is a descendant of craftsmen! And to make ends meet these 100 years ago craftsmen usually wed their offspring with the children of tradesmen and it's not as a far-fetched theory for Vlad's family, I suppose! Because look, Vlad is selling food (sausages, fish), souvenirs, and toys! Not only these goods are homemade but of top quality! So, Vlad has presented his heritage as a craftspeople's kid and it was proved that he has adequate skills to sell them successfully. His ancestors who made a living from trade would be so proud of him.

Let's diverge a little from the topic. I love this cart so much I can't believe Jack destroyed it, ok? ༼ಢ_ಢ༽

That's why I'm rejecting canon. The cart is fine. Please tell me the cart is fine I don't believe Vlad's grandparents would be ok with the fact there is no cart kjashk Besides, Jack and Vlad's plan in that ep was so good I can't believe Jack's falling on the cart wasn't improvised too! When they were discussing how Vlad could impress the monks, both of them came up with the idea Jack should make him mad. And to make that as authentic as possible, Jack should damage something that Vlad holds dear. They build together a replica and the original cart stayed at Vlad's home. Yes, that particular hc was created so I would be calm and sleep well at night

However, let's come back to Vlad's family.

Remember that ointment Vlad sells to Dojo for his scale problem? In the middle of the episode, Dojo refers to it as babushka's medicine for itching. My guess is - Vlad's grandma was either a nurse or her herbs knowledge is so good she would make medicine for domestic needs (and maybe sell them too to earn more money so the family could have an easier life)

look at these cute teddy bears. Look at these wooden toys. This leaves me with only one conclusion. There are toymakers in Vlad's family!

And let me tell you. Russian wooden toys are awesome. Vlad owned many of them because his дедушка (granddad) made those for him. He enjoyed the bear ones and pecking hens.

But Vlad's favorite as a tiny boy to a 6 year-old-boy was неваляшка. It's a Roly-poly toy, which despite putting force on it to make it fall down, would always return to the standing position.

I also imagine Vlad's granddad used to make furniture, but once he retired he started making wooden toys as a hobby, which later turned out to be a great way to make a living! Vlad's grandma and aunt are very good at coloring them. Oh, and the other grandma makes these cute stuffed bears you've seen on the cart <3

As for Vlad's parents' occupation? Hmmm I don't know yet? I picture his dad as a butcher and his mom as a weaver, who specializes in making curtains, drapes, bed sheets, decorative towels/ kitchen wipers, etc. This idea originated from my assumption of what might be inside the boxes on Vlad's cart.

Ok, let's focus on Vlad now.

Headcanon no1.

He always wanted to try his hand at woodcarving but his parents would put education in first place. That's why all the children in his family went to English courses, so they could have a new to their family skill. And well, Vlad came to terms with the fact he can't be like his grandpa because he finds English quite useful. Not only can he chat on the Internet with people all over the world but also that skill comes in handy when tourists arrive. They let Vlad be in charge of the business more often because since he knows English, they earn more money.

All of the members of Vlad's family lead a quite busy life that's why Vlad wants to help as much as possible. He got so good at doing chores, everything is taken care of in minutes. It means much to his grandparents, who are not as active as they used to be (but don't worry they're quite strong for their age!)

Despite his massive build, Vladislav is good at acrobatics and climbing. His PE teacher would always assign him to various sports competitions because the fella is quite fast. And everyone's impressed with his backward flip jumps. That's the reason why jack keeps nagging Vlad they should go figure skating. Unfortunately, Vlad is more of a trampoline fan.

Headcanon no4.

Oh boy, he can cook. Babushkas know how to cook and they passed on the knowledge to the youngest children in the family. And Vlad usually amuses his grandmas with the Internet recipes he tried out. It takes a lot of convincing but ultimately a whole family can enjoy Vlad's dishes.

Headcanon no5, which is the continuation of no4!

When Vlad has meetings with the other Heylins he makes sure not to arrive empty-handed. He brings them treats! Usually Plyushkas.

However, Jack particularly loves Vlad's pelmeni (dumplings stuffed with meat). There's a funny story involving pelmeni. One time when they had no choice but to visit BABUSHKA's home it turned out the owner is at home. So, Vlad had to introduce Jack as his friend. Vlad's granny couldn't contain her happiness because Vlad has a very small circle of acquaintances. However, she bombarded Vlad with questions about Jack's appearance. She expressed her worries he was too pale, too thin... 'He is nothing but a twig!' - she exclaimed and urged the boys to stay longer so she could cook for them. Jack had to stay at dinner and he fell in love with pelmeni with the first bite. Nothing makes a Slavic lady happier than a kid, who eats fast because they enjoy the food so much. Jack also appreciated a homemade apple-plum compote. When they were about to leave, Babushka handed Jack a neat package with pelmeni. Jack was so touched by the woman's kindness and hospitality he shed a tear.

Jack couldn't stand that communication barrier between him and Vlad's granny he asked Vlad to be his Russian teacher. They have online lessons once in 2 weeks. They both know they should have these lessons more often but showdowns/private lives prevent that. But the good thing is, Vlad sends Jack Russian memes!

Vlad is so cool he sends dumplings by post. Jack is always surprised but writes to Vlad 'Спасибо тебе за еду' (thanks for the food) the moment he receives the pack. In exchange, Jack sends recipes from his mom's cooking book. 'Dude that meatloaf is my fav I bet your family would love it' - Vlad would often read.

Jack and Vlad give off Megamind and Minion vibes. Although Vlad is... not a servant to Jack, for sure. Aand he's like ... a meaner version of Minion ok? But Vlad is always eager to push buttons! Jack lets him be in charge of music just like Megamind let the minion provide music for his performance as the new 'president' of Metrocity.

Jack has found Vlad's profile on one of these shady forums and their first interaction looked something like this.

Jack: Hi. I've read your profile info and I would be interested in cooperation. You're Russian, right? Can you speak English?

Vlad: Sure thing! But first, we have to discuss the terms, boss!

Jack: Oh, cool! I only know a little Russian so I'm glad it won't be awkward haha And before we go into specifics I must know what are your experiences in evil-doing. Because I'm searching for someone who's good at infiltrating.

Vlad: So you want me to be a double agent?

Jack: Yes. I contacted you because my granny has told me if she were to choose a co-worker she would opt for someone from Russia. She told me I can trust Russians, so here I am offering you a job.

Vlad: Your grandma is a wise lady, indeed!

Jack has problems operating Vlad's toys. He struggles to find out how these can be used and Vlad, running out of patience would turn into Pleakley and yell 'educate yourself!' (however, Jack's ignorance results from the negligence he was a victim of. If we go with that detail from XC Jack had no toys. Yes, Angst.)

Jack didn't listen and hence, was defeated by a large roly-poly lol. The only toy that never fails to amuse Jack is a construction set consisting of colorful blocks of various sizes and shapes. Vlad left Jack alone in his room for 5 minutes and in that time Jack managed to build a whole city. Vlad was impressed but pointed out he can't walk into the room. At that moment Jack realized he would also have problems reaching Vlad in the doorway. The boys, very upset, had to tear down every building. they agreed that normally they would be happy to destroy cities in real life but this procedure is rather sad.

Jack and Vlad have fallen out with each other after the events of Saving Omi/Finding Omi. Jack wanted no more to be Vlad's pen pal because Vlad immediately went to Chase with the rest of Jack's former team. Jack pointed out during their argument he thought Vlad is different. Truth be told, Jack felt the most comfortable with Vlad and he had the most faith in him, so no wonder he felt betrayed. That was bugging Vlad for a long time and finally, he decided to fix it up. He asked babushka to make dumplings for Jack, bought plane tickets, and set off to the Spicer manor.

'The return of master Monk Guan' is the only ep of season3, in which Jack doesn't appear, so it's nice to assume that day Vladislav visited Jack. Jack hesitantly opened the door because his mom told him to. Vlad awkwardly started explaining himself, he brought up their fantasy about the world conquest and their own reality show and finished his monologue with 'My babushka sends her greetings and hugs. I understand if you don't want to see me, so please take these and I'm off'. To Vlad's surprise, Jack asked him to stay. So, the boys had their first pajama party ever lol They watched some tv series and Mrs. Spicer fetched them some ice cream!

This hc was an attempt to fix Jack's characterization in s3. He was a laughing stock and let's not forget this boy has feelings ok? He has issues but also wants to be on good footing with the other Heylins. Besides c'mon. When someone tries to bribe you with food, you have to reconsider if you want to be still overwhelmed by negative feelings or let go and move on. Jacko did well choosing the second option <3

First off I love your Miraculous Ladybug fics. Also I don't know if you are a Black Butler fan or not. But if you are could you please do a fic where Lila causes a that destroys Marinette's home/bakery, which kills Marinette's parents and severely injures Marinette. While in the hospital recovering Roland finds out what Lila did and talks with Gina, both recently have been diagnosed with cancer and want to make sure Marinette is taken care of when they die. Gina or Roland remember a story told to them by a descendant of the Phantomhive servants (In this fic it follows season 2 with Sebastian being able to get Ciel's memories back before Claude tried to brainwash him and was able to eat Ciel's soul) (either from when Gina was in traveling in England or someone who Roland's father knew during WWII) about a demon who acted like a caretaker for a child in the late 1800's. They both decide to sacrifice themselves so Marinette can be cared for. One summons Sebastian the other summons Claude. The terms of the contract are simple, in exchange for eating the soul of the person who summoned their specific demon the summoned demon would care for Marinette, act as her guardian, help her achieve her dreams, and care for her, her husband and their children until Marinette passes away from old age. The contract is accepted with both demons. While caring for Marinette it becomes sort of a contest between the two demons of them trying to out do each other in different ways (if Claude gets her multiple roles of different color spider silk fabric, Sebastian "accidentally" gets Marinette introduced to several high ranking nobles ["Hello, my ancestor worked for your ancestor's peer. What a small world. Might I introduce you to my ward?"] that become her clients. Due to the two demons' shenanigans Lila gets exposed, the Butterfly and Peacock are recovered, Adrien's mother is awakened, Marinette gets some real friends (Will, Ronald, Grell, and the Undertaker got reincarnated and regain their memories after a while) and falls in love with her future husband (either Will, Ronald, or the Undertaker. The only reason I don't do this fic myself is I can't write Black Butler characters even though it's one of my favorite animes.

Sorry this took so long, I wanted to try my best to make the characters accurate, so I had to rewatch some of the show. I hope I did good, but I am pretty rusty, writing these characters. But I tried my best! Hope you like it!

Lila was getting more and more dangerous. She didn't just want to ruin Marinette's social life anymore. Now she wanted to ruin her entire life, or even end it. One night, when everyone was asleep, Lila broke into the bakery and started a fire. She made sure that it would spread to the upper floors and then she raced from the building before she was spotted.

The fire spread quickly and soon the entire building, bakery and the apartment were completely engulfed. Marinette woke up to the smell of smoke and Tikki yelling in her ear. Despite the kwami screaming at her to leave the apartment, Marinette raced down to her parents room, to see if they had gotten out, but the door was blocked by debris falling from the ceiling. The thick black smoke was choking Marinette as she tried in vain to get to her parents. By the time Tikki managed to convince Marinette that they had to leave, Marinette was severely burned on her arms, legs, and back. As she blindly felt her way to the exit, a now exposed wooden beam in the ceiling, came crashing down, landing on Marinette's legs. With her legs pinned and unable to move, Marinette passed out. Thankfully firefighters had already been called and pulled Marinette from the flames before it was too late. On lookers from the neighborhood watched in horror as the bakery went up in flames. Once the fire was put out and Marinette was sent to the closest hospital, the firefighters went into the apartment and found Tom and Sabine. They had died in their room, unable to get out because of the debris blocking their door.

The next morning, the whole city seemed to be grieving. Tom and Sabine were well loved people in the city and everyone was distraught over the loss. But no one was more distraught than Marinette and her grandparents. Roland and Gina heard about the fire early that morning and were horrified to learn that Tom and Sabine were gone. But their one piece of solace was that Marinette had survived. They both raced to the hospital and comforted their granddaughter. But they had a bigger problem. Both Gina and Roland were getting older, now both in their late 80's. Both of them also had several severe health conditions and likely wouldn't be around for much longer as it is. And then who would take care of Marinette? That is when Gina remembered a story she had heard when she was in England. A story of two boys in the Victorian era who had made deals with demons, and those demons took care of the boys. Soon after, both boys' souls were eaten by their respective demons. As much as Gina and Roland didn't want to leave Marinette, they thought that this was the best thing for her. The only way to know that she would truly be cared for.

That night, after they left the hospital, they summoned the demons the same way as in the story Gina heard. The room became dark with shadow and two voices spoke from the darkness, asking the two elderly people why they had been summoned. "We summoned you to make a deal. Our granddaughter has recently lost her parents and we likely will not be around much longer as it is. We heard stories about how you two cared for two boys in the Victorian era in exchange for their respective souls. In exchange for our souls, we want you to take care of our Marinette. To help her achieve her goals, protect her, and care for her until she dies. Both demons agreed to the deal. After all, they had already cared for children before, so they had the skills to do it, and the souls of these two people who would willingly do this for their granddaughter would be nice to have. With the contract sealed, Gina and Roland wrote in their wills that Marinette was to be cared for by Sebastian and Claude, claiming they were old family friends. They also took the two demons to meet Marinette, so that Marinette would at least meet the two before they began caring for her. Once the legalities were taken care of and Marinette had met the two, Sebastian and Claude took their payment and Gina and Roland died.

Marinette was overcome with the grief of not just losing her parents, but now her grandparents as well. Sebastian and Claude, who her grandparents had recently introduced her to, were declared her guardians and began watching over her. Roland had left Marinette his house, so she had somewhere to live. While Marinette began to settle into the new normal of her life, Sebastian and Claude got to work on the first order of business. They were going to get justice for Marinette's parents. They knew that the fire was not an accident and that someone had set it on purpose. The evidence was obvious, but the police were stuck. They didn't know who did it. But Sebastian and Claude quickly learned that it was a girl named Lila who had been tormenting their charge for years now. All they had to do was phone in an anonymous tip to the police about the girl, and the police searched Lila's apartment. Mrs. Rossi kept sayin this was a mistake and her daughter couldn't have done this, but the police soon found evidence of her involvement, including the accelerant used at the bakery. Lila was confused, sure that she had gotten rid of it all. But Lila was arrested quickly, as a crowd had now grown outside of her apartment building. Several members of Mrs. Bustier's class were there and saw Lila being dragged out in cuffs. As Paris looked on in horror at the arsonist that had killed the Dupain-Chengs, no one noticed the shadow like figures standing to the side, smiling coldly at the scene.

They also quickly figured out that Marinette was Ladybug and even figured out that Adrien was Chat Noir when he came over to check on Marinette. They learned this by sensing the souls of the kwami. Since the kwami's souls are obviously not human, and Marinette kept disappearing during the akuma attacks, it didn't take long for the demons to be sure of their suspicion that Marinette was Ladybug. After confirming this, they felt that defeating Hawkmoth fell under their duty of caring for Marinette so they set out to find out who Hawkmoth was. They were able to sense the souls of other kwami in the city. They sensed two other kwami in Adrien's house. With only two kwami present in the house, they were certain that this was the location of Hawkmoth. To confirm this, Claude used a smaller version of his demon form to enter the manor and watch the residents of the house. Claude soon saw Gabriel and Natalie transform with the missing miraculous. Now that they had confirmation, it was time to end Hawkmoth.

The two demons began to plague Gabriel and Natalie with nightmares and torment them constantly. In each nightmare, they made it abundantly clear that this was because of their actions as Hawkmoth and Mayura. Soon, Gabriel and Natalie could hardly sleep and were almost driven completely mad. They surrendered to Ladybug and the miraculous were recovered. Gabriel and Natalie were sent to prison for their crimes. When Marinette learned why Gabriel had done everything and what happened to Emilie, she used everything she had learned about magic to help revive her. Sebastian and Claude lent some of their power to this endeavor as well, not wanting their charge to exhaust herself in the attempt. Adrien had his mom back, and the two moved to England to get away from all the trouble Gabriel had caused as Hawkmoth.

With all the major problems in Marinette's life taken care of, Marinette could relax a bit and focus on her fashion. While she thought it was odd that her grandparents had left her in Sebastian and Claude's care, she did think they were doing a wonderful job. They helped to support all her dreams, any way they could. Claude once brought her several different rolls of fabric made from spider silk. This of course, renewed the rivalry between the two demons. Sebastian brought Marinette to England, making the excuse that it was to see her friend. While there, Sebastian made sure to 'run into' the descendants of some old friends. Several nobles and aristocrats found a charming man and young girl in front of them at many parties. The man seemed familiar to them all, especially the older guests at these parties. They were sure they had encountered this man before. When asked if they knew him, the Sebastian always responded with "My ancestor worked as a butler for one of your ancestor's peers. He worked in the Phantomhive manor as the butler to Ciel Phantomhive. It truly is a small world for us to meet. May I introduce my charge, Ms. Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Sebastian spent the whole night talking up Marinette's fashion business and Marinette would leave these parties with several more clients than when she arrived.

Claude and Sebastian kept trying to out do each other in their attempts to care for Marinette. Helping her with her designs, getting her fancy fabrics and equipment, even convincing several major fashion magazines to feature her work. As odd as the arrangement was, it did work. Marinette met several new friends, thanks to Sebastian and Claude's interference. She even met the man that she would marry. A man who looked suspiciously like Will, from all those decades ago. As the years went by, even after Marinette was an adult and didn't need caretakers anymore, Sebastian and Claude continued to watch over and protect her, as per their contract. And they would watch over her, for the rest of her life.
