Sick Mother and Children Trapped in Gaza – Rebuilding Our Home and Memories

With heavy hearts and hope, we reach out to you for help to support my sick mother and family in Gaza. We are living through the worst days of our lives in displacement camps in Deir al-Balah, having been displaced four times in a row. My mother suffers from asthma and urgently needs treatment, while our living conditions continue to worsen.

Our home in Beit Lahia, North Gaza, has been completely destroyed, taking with it my father’s hard work, our dreams, and the memories we built over the years. The devastation has left us with nothing, forcing us to start from scratch in the most challenging conditions.

As the world celebrates the coming of 2025, Palestinians in Gaza are stepping into another year of genocide. This genocide has taken most of Hamdi's (@hamdigaza) family, including his mother, his aunt, his siblings, his cousins, his nephews, and his nieces.

Hamdi is only 19 years old. All that remains of his family is his father and his sister. They are just trying to survive. With the hunger, the cold, and the constant bombing that has lasted for more than 450 days now, survival is not easy. To emphasize how bad things are, Israel has just killed more than 60 people in a massacre and at least six babies have died of cold in Gaza!

With the skyrocketing prices of basic necessities like food, but also clothes and blankets, Hamdi needs these donations to survive. He has already lost so much to this genocide please, please give his fundraiser more support! He has barely raised €5k even though he has been fundraising since May! Also his fundraiser is so stagnant he has only received 5 donations in the past 2 months!

The pain is unbearable for my family and me, but despite it all, we have not lost hope. We still dare to dream of a brighter tomorrow—a future where we can rebuild what was taken from us. My personal dream is to continue my education and achieve the goals that have always been within my reach, but now it seems so far away.

However, the road to recovery is long and steep. The cost of rebuilding our lives is overwhelming. Everything we once relied on is either gone or too expensive to restore. The price of basic necessities—food, medicine, shelter—has skyrocketed. The infrastructure is shattered, and even getting the most basic supplies has become a daily challenge. The war has left us with nothing, and with the added financial strain, continuing our education feels impossible without help.

This is why I am reaching out. My family and I need your support now more than ever. We ask not for pity, but for your compassion, your prayers, and your belief in a brighter future for us.
