Hot take: Even though I love that he beat the Miquellallegations, pre-dlc Mohg was so much better and had a lot to go for in terms of power, potential and how conniving and dedicated he was to achieve his goal. I miss him.

Also the premises for a Lord of Blood ending were right there. It would've been an interesting alternative option where you as a player, not only as a Tarnished, are giving up both your role as main character and your quest to become Elden Lord, thus letting someone else seize that opportunity.

I understand Miquella's plan for godhood and the creation of a gentler world (which is still ultimately destined to fail if we intervene and avoid having our heart stolen by him), but it removed so much agency from Mohg in particular, in my opinion.

Yapping about uzumaki again but honestly while i get why ppl are just "just read the manga again" over this i feel they're kinda missing the point that for some ppl who have already read the manga front-to-back multiple times, their solution to the disappointment of getting your hopes up for 5 years that you'll FINALLY see such an intricate work put in the form of animation with the voice acting, soundtrack, etc. only to have that flushed down the toilet by episode 2 can't really be covered by the merits of manga's medium as a whole

Like it's good to be refreshed on the story and art you remember as it's told through the manga, and ofc I'm not saying one medium is better than the other, but that's the point lol the adaptation of Uzumaki into animation has things people WANTED to see that simply aren't present in the manga which is why so many were so excited to see it in the first place, just like the medium of manga has strengths that can't be present within animation.

Saying "Well the animation sucks, just re-read the manga" may work for SOME but it's not that simple for all the ppl who have been waiting for this for the past 5 years i think 😭 if I wanted to read the manga again I would have, the issue is I wanted to see that power shine through the strengths of the medium of animation in a new light and for a MOMENT, we had it but now it's back to square one which, while it's not a bad place to BE, it's certainly a bad place to return to lmao

i have zero respect for anyone that believes shonen animanga consistently having badly written female characters isn't a problem within the industry. anytime someone comes forward with "the target demographic is young boys" i only question myself a) don't young boys have women in their lives they care about or coexist with? b) do young boys live in a parallel universe where women aren't relevant? c) why can't/shouldn't young boys have the right to see well written female characters in media? because that sort of argument to me is just a reiteration of "i don't care about women".

This is extremely stupid and I recognize that but I think one of the things contributing a lot to my recent indicision in making art is that I'm in the mode of just pretty much wanting to focus on gaia and I'm feeling VERY guilty for not doing much phaesporia stuff. I still love phaesporia and just cynthia and diantha in general very very very very VERY dearly but I feel like I should be giving them more attention and as is the nature with ADHD, I unfortunately don't get to pick what my brain wants to focus on

So it's like. I wanna focus on gaia stuff, but I feel like I should be focusing on phaesporia stuff, but that's not what my brain wants to do right now, so I end up just feeling frustrated and unfulfilled creatively

Does anyone else feel rather disappointed about Mircalla being Meursault's WAW level E.G.O? The E.G.O art is a bit bland for a WAW, and for his to be the same as Don Quixote's... Hm. Underwhelming.
