S/O reacting to slashers when they're jealous/sulking!

Norman:

You love helping Norman around with the motel! You decided to be a receptionist, since Norman is going to take a break talking for a little while. While being the receptionist, you have to deal with rude, nice, and drunk people.. One of your customers was drunk, he decided to flirt with you right in front of Norman.

Most of his flirting was just sexual stuff at you. You were going to tell him to back off, but Norman took care of it. Instead of taking care of it the normal way, he smacked the man's head with a standing hanger for coats, leaving him on the floor with a bleeding spot on his head. (DRUNK MAN GOT K.O. BY NORMAN 💀.)

Realizing that it was his mother's personality that killed the man that was on the floor. You immediately calmed down his mother's persona and then Norman came back to you! He also saw the man on the floor, and looked back up at you and asked if it was his mother that did this. You nodded your head and you both then started to take the body somewhere in the forest. You both then head back into the motel, and Norman makes a hot tea for you to calm your nerves down, and that made you relaxed!

RZ Michael:

You are Michael's nurse, since none of the nurses wanted to be his caretaker. Michael has grown fond of you, because you don't care what anyone says and what you do! You would always give him praises of his arts and crafts, like his masks, drawings, etc!

Sometimes guards call you a weirdo for falling the likes of Michael, which you didn't give a single fuck. You mostly just ignore what people would say to you about Michael, even Dr. Loomis.. His book that he made about Michael is just full of shit, and just makes people more scared of him too. Some of the pages are true about Michael, but most were just pulled out of his ass! Like where did this old doctor get, "He likes to drink toilet water when he is young.." like you know damn well that those words came out of his ass and out onto his book like it was nothing.

There was this guard that likes you, but only sexually because he leaves so many women/men behind and finds new women/men to be his little toy. Which in no way in hell that you'll be his "toy" to play around with! While you were in the lunch room with Michael, Michael would always look at the guard that had been staring at him and you. Sometimes Michael tries to speak to you, but he decides not to, so you then turn around to see the same guard looking at you! You calmed down Michael saying that you could handle it.. (You full on kicked the guard in the nuts, put your hands on his neck and whammed him to the ground 🤣!!)

Thomas & Bubba:

You love these two so much, because of their personalities and their hands! Their hands are bigger than yours and you would always want to hold their hands or most likely squeeze their hand like it's a toy! You love to hangout with bubba by doing his makeup, dress up, or just doing something that he likes! You also love to hangout or help out with Thomas and his chores, sometimes he doesn't need your help with carrying the two big hays onto his shoulder for the cows to eat, it'll always make you blush because of his broad shoulders!

When these two are together, it's like a big scary dog and just a happy little dog! Thomas and Bubba would go with you and Mama Luda at work, because sometimes at home they have nothing to do. You and Luda work at the little gas station where you'll see people that are tourists/people that pass or mostly bikers that live here.. One of those bikers thought it was OKAY to flirt with you right in front of Thomas and Bubba! This biker must had some balls to do that right in front of these two!

While he was flirting with you, you then looked at Thomas and bubba, and those two were sharing looks at each other. You knew what was going to happen to this man, and it was going to be really painful for him.. You shoved the man to Thomas and Bubba, and did a little wave at him. These two immediately took him outside somewhere behind the gas station and started beating the fuck out of him. (After work, these two then got so many kisses and praises from you!!)

Chucky & Tiffany:

These two would be giving death glares at the person that's talking to you. The person decided to start flirting with you, after you helped them with the directions to the bathroom.. Unfortunately the man thought you were by yourself, which you were not at all, until Chucky and Tiffany came from behind the man.

Chucky put one of his hands on top of the dude's shoulder in a tight grip. He dragged the dude into the bathroom for a little "pep" talk. Tiffany then asked you questions if he was weird or if he was touching you, etc. One of you and Tiffany's favorite song came on, and immediately you and Tiffany danced together on the dance floor! (Meanwhile, Chucky did a full on martial arts on the dude, in the bathroom 💀.)

Chucky then came out of the bathroom, and saw that you and Tiffany were dancing together. He loved watching you two have fun, just smiling and laughing with no care at all! The song then ended, which you and Tiffany were breathing heavily and just laughing from all the dancing you both did! Chucky then walked to both of you and asked if it was time to go. You nodded and Tiffany answered with a yes. All three of you then walked out of the bar and headed home, laughing and smiling!

Billy & Stu:

With Billy and Stu, if there was a dude that decided to make flirtatious comments about what you are wearing. Billy would start giving him death glares and Stu would stop being goofy and give him death glares too. It sometimes scares you that Stu isn't laughing or goofing around anymore and acts like a twin of Billy.

These two are always jealous of someone talking to you. They pulled you away from the dude that was still flirting and walked over to the cafeteria for food. While you were busy eating and not paying attention, Billy went to where the dude was and started walking up to him. Stu grabbed your attention to make you laugh or talk about school and stuff.

Stu didn't get lunch, because he was in the negatives and he hasn't even paid a single penny on his lunches. So, Stu ate a big bite of your food and ate it in front of your face! Which made you sad and angry at him, you then didn't want to give Stu your attention anymore, because he ate your food! Stu poked and called your name, but you wouldn't even budge! Stu then started poking you at your sides, because that was where your ticklish spot was! You laughed and laughed and told Stu to stop, but he wouldn't so you smacked his hands for him to stop. You and Stu then laughed together, until Billy came out of nowhere and scared you two! (It scared you and Stu, and you knew it was a good scare because Stu screams like a girl if the scare really got him 🌚!!)

Jason:

Jason doesn't talk, only in sign language or through his body! You were glad that he had books of ASL so you knew what he was saying through his hand signs. There was an upcoming date where there was a party throwing here at camp crystal. Young adults these days don't understand that people are dying and being missing here at camp crystal, but their brains decided to say 'Fuck that, I just want to party and have fun!' and they die anyways once Jason kills them.

You told Jason that you wanted to see what the party would look like, and Jason then started shaking his head 'no' really fast. He hated the thought of you making out with another person, and it always makes Jason jealous! Jason would say some things about parties from his mother in sign language, and you thought it was really wholesome for Jason to look out for you! Instead going to the party, you told Jason that you would help him with the killing since you went to the store to buy some stuff for the cabin. You overheard a group of three girls that were in probably college, saying that the party will be a really big party. Almost a 100 of those students wanted to go, maybe a little more than that..

It was really cold outside, so everyone was inside the big cabin for the big party. You went around the big cabin locking all doors and windows, so that no one will get out once Jason goes and kills everyone in there. Jason already went inside before you did all the locking, you walked to a nearby window where no one could see you, and saw that Jason then struck at the first person he saw. Screams are being heard everywhere in the cabin, some people tried opening the door to run away, but it wouldn't budge so they ended up dying. After all the killing, you made hot chocolate for Jason and made snacks for him too!

Sinclair Brothers:

You would help Bo with the "tourists" that are coming by and just talk to them about the house of wax or something else. You'll also be with Vincent while he's waxing people, and you mostly just want to see his beautiful waxing! You also love hanging out with Lester and his dog, Jonsey! You and Lester will be driving around somewhere to get more stuff for the house, and come back to ambrose.

You and Lester left Ambrose to get more food for you guys, early in the morning. Coming back to ambrose, there was a group who were standing outside of their car. You and Lester realized their car was broken down, so the group asked you both if they could come with you both and make a phone call for a mechanic. You knew what Lester was going to say, and it was a yes. The group hopped into the car, 3 people in the back and one person that was sitting on the right side of you. It was a lady that was sitting by the right side of you, and the other 3 were all men. (You kinda wanted to ask her what she was doing with 3 men, but you also realized that you are with 3 men too, so you didn't want to ask her that 🌚.)

Driving back to ambrose, one of those 3 men started flirting with you. His flirting was starting to get on your nerves and Lester's too, you looked at Lester and saw that his hands on the wheel were gripping, which means that he is getting annoyed and mad at him, and also jealous. You didn't respond to his questions, so he lost interest in doing so. While arriving in Ambrose, Lester got out of his car and held his hand out for you, the girl on the right was jealous because of how Lester is a gentleman, instead of her own boyfriend. The other 2 are her boyfriend's friends and they don't act like a gentleman either. Lester whispered into your ear that he'll be right back, and he walked to get Bo. You lead them to the gas station for them to "call". The same man before started flirting with you again, and he's asking for his ass to be killed, because Bo walked inside and saw him flirting and touching you! (You and Bo killed the other 3 and you left the man that flirted with you to Bo, Vincent, and Lester to torture him.)

Carrie:

Carrie is so sweet to you! You love hanging out with Carrie, because she's not really loud or annoying. She would also listen to your problems whenever you talk to her! Your friends always like to talk to you and not pay attention to Carrie and socialize with her. So, Carrie stays silent and listens to what your friends say.

You get angry at them for not including Carrie! You include people that walk behind your group of friends or when they're not in the conversation. You walked away from your friend group for not including Carrie as you specifically said to include her! Your friend group kept on calling your name to come back, and that they will include Carrie! Well, they haven't.. because some days when you don't show up to school, you would always tell Carrie if they hangout with her, but she would reply with a no.

So, you had enough of your friend group's attitude. They were all a bunch of assholes anyways, because they've lost some really good friends in the group, just from not really talking to them and acting like they don't know them either.. and you decided to do the same thing they've done too. Carrie was really surprised that you ignored your friend group, she asked you where you were taking her. You told her that you are taking her to another group of friends that you have. In that group were the good friends! They saw you immediately and waved at you as well as Carrie too! Carrie then started hanging out with your new friend group and you! She's really happy that she found friends that are really kind just like you!

Brahms & Billy Lenz:

You live in Brahms mansion with Billy too, so seeing Malcolm the grocery boy, makes these two really jealous. Malcolm likes chatting with you about other things instead of groceries. Chatting with Malcolm could lead to things for Brahms and Billy, killing him in front of you or torturing him, either one.. You always feel their presence, like how they give off their stares at you and Malcolm!

You would try and get Malcolm to start talking a little bit faster than usual. You would have to make up things, saying that you have to vacuum the big living room or something else than that. So, Malcolm would try speaking a little bit faster, until Brahms started to bang on the walls. Brahms is an impatient man and Billy is kinda in between. Either way, it freaked out you and Malcolm, Malcolm wanted to investigate what it was. But, you pushed him away from the bangs and pushed him outside of the mansion.

Malcolm was surprised why you pushed him outside, you said your goodbye to Malcolm and closed the door immediately. Brahms and Billy got out of their hiding spot, and both of them looked at you because it was your fault for letting a guest inside, especially Malcolm.. You had to deal with Brahms tantrum, and Billy's ranting saying that you'll leave him and Brahms, etc. You calm down Billy first and deal with Brahms' tantrum next. After these two have calmed down, you then wanted to go to sleep, even though it was the afternoon, but you were really tired trying to calm down Brahms and Billy. They both got in bed with you, snuggling too close and closing their arms around you tightly, so that you wouldn't leave..

The Lost Boys:

You and the boys decided to go to the boardwalk on a Friday night! All the boys were hungry and needed to eat, so they decided to go to the boardwalk with you! While the boys are looking for their next food, you decided to walk to your favorite place for food since you were hungry too. Walking to your favorite food place, you have caught someone's attention. That someone started to follow you, asking weird questions that just makes you cringe..

The man kept on asking you questions, like "are you alone", "do you need someone to cuddle", all that weird shit. You ignored the man, because those questions just make you cringe. The boys definitely knew that somebody was close by their mate, and could hear far away from where they were. They all flew, once the coast was clear, to you. You got your food and sat down, realizing that you could sense the boys. The man still kept annoying you with those questions, until the boys came by.

The boys gave a scary look at the man that was bothering you, and they already knew who their dinner was for tonight. You got up and took your food and walked with your boys back to the cave, because you wanted to eat peacefully without any questions coming out of an asshole's mouth. You all arrived in the cave and you settled in and ate your food, the boys said they'll be right back, and you knew that they were going to eat that man. (They definitely did eat him, and probably made his bones out of necklaces, etc 💀.)

A/N: Thank you all so much for the wonderful response to the Prologue!!! I didn't think it'd be that much of a hit, so I was surprised with all the love. After finishing this chapter, I feel like it could've been part of the Prologue, but oh well. It's been a while since I've written as well, so bear with me. As always, thanks to my awesome beta, @buckysdollforlife, for their help with this and for creating the header for this story (I LOVE IT!!!!) and bestie, @13braincellsonly, for allowing me the use of their son's name and personality when I needed to come up with a horse. **All descriptions of Ziggy the horse were approved by his momma.** And as always, I will be cross-posting this to AO3. City Girl Knows Her Stuff

You became a Wrangler near the end of the season that first year.  Kate picked you up at the airport with two members of the team: Lily and Dani.  Lily immediately pulled you into a hug, chatting a mile a minute about how excited she was to have you on the team.  Dani (perhaps picking up on your shyness) offered a handshake and big smile, welcoming you to Oklahoma.  Kate was more than happy to let Dani and Lily talk your ear off on the drive to Sapulpa, where you’d be staying with Cathy until you found a place.  She knew it was somewhat difficult for you to make friends, so she was happy to see you enjoying a conversation with two new friends.

You got to meet Dexter when he came by in the van to pick up Lily and Dani.  You thought he was funny and enjoyed some very science-centric conversations with him.  Before they all left, Lily let you take her drone for a spin.  You enjoyed it so much that for your birthday later that year, she gifted you a smaller drone that wasn’t quite like hers, but it had a small camera and small, tinny sounding speaker.  She even had it painted in your favorite color.  That would become one of your absolute favorite gifts.  It made you cry.

Like most storm chasers, you had to have a job in the off season, so you got a remote data analyst job with the NOAA offices in Norman and moved out to a place just out of Sapulpa.  This would allow you to visit Cathy at the farm and work on data in the barn workshop the Wranglers had set up.  You even got yourself a cat.  Abandoned due to his looks and runt status (according to the shelter), you snatched him up the first time you saw him.  Black cats didn’t scare you.  Life with Roach (you’d spent quite a bit of time watching The Witcher) was idyllic and you were happy.

By the time you met Boone, the Wranglers felt like family…and Boone felt like the brother you never had.  Like Boone, you were an only child and didn’t have much of an extended family and it was a bit lonely in the beginning.  The difference, however, was that Boone was an outgoing guy and it was easy for him to make friends and talk to people he didn’t know, whereas that scared you half to death most of the time.  You loved his boisterous way of being, but you also appreciated that he (like Dani) could tell when your social battery had run down and turned it down and would sometimes sit with you in a quiet environment.  Sometimes he’d sit and nap while you read or he’d pick up the latest meteorological article (or sometimes the latest comic he picked up at the shop).  He didn’t even make fun of your nickname like others had before, so you trusted him.

The day of Cathy’s pre-tornado season bbq, while cleaning some dishes, you confessed to Boone that you were nervous about meeting the head tornado wrangler himself, Tyler Owens.

“T’s a sweetheart B, you got nothin’ to worry about.  Why are ya nervous?”

“Boone!  He doesn’t know me, what if he doesn’t think I’m a right fit for the team?  What if he doesn’t like how I do work?  Y’all are famous ‘round here, what if he gets irked by the fact that big crowds make me nervous and it takes me forever to become comfortable with people?  You know it’s not easy for me to talk to people I’ve never talked to before”, you cried in exasperation.

“B, imma need you to take a breath, okay?” Boone reassured you as he placed his hands on your shoulders.  “If Ty thought any of those things, I would definitely not be workin’ with ‘em.”

You were so busy trying to get yourself to relax that you missed Kate wandering into the kitchen.

“B, are you freakin’ out about meetin’ Tyler again?” she asked.  You and Boone nodded.  “Well, you don’t have to worry.  He won’t be able to come today, said he had to drive down to Texas to see his parents.”

You breathed out a sigh of relief, sending some of your hair floating up.  “Good, I have time to relax about it.  Thanks Kate.”

“Thank Tyler’s parents.”

“Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Owens!” you said to no one in particular and dried your hands, as you looked over at your friends.  “See you two out there!”

Kate and Boone followed, but stayed on the porch, both taking twin sips from their beers.

“You think either of them has any idea what’s about to happen to ‘em?” Boone asked.

“Meaning that Tyler is going to become enamored the second she opens her mouth?”

“Yup.”

“And that she’s going to have the same thing happen to her the second she comes into contact with that cocky cowboy swagger that he exudes when you meet him the first time?”

“Yup.”

“No, I don’t think either of ‘em knows what’s coming.”

A few days before the chasing season began, you brought Roach down to Cathy’s, where he would be staying while you were out with the Wranglers for your first season on the road.  

While there, you asked Cathy if you could saddle up your favorite of her horses, Zig, nicknamed Ziggy.  He wasn’t the brightest of the bunch; he was the type of horse you’d see in a video because someone thought he was dead but in actuality, he was just sleeping.  You swore that his mother, a horse named KJ, rolled her horse eyes every time someone caught him playing dead.

Ziggy may not have been the sharpest pitchfork in the barn, and may not have enjoyed doing much of anything besides looking dead when he slept, but he enjoyed riding through fields with you.  He knew whenever he saw you approaching with a bowl that he was about to get one of his favorite snacks: ice cubes with apple bits in them.  You put Ziggy’s snack bucket down so he could munch while you brushed him and got him saddled and ready to go for a ride.

When Ziggy let you know that he was done with his snack, you popped in your earbuds and shuffled your favorite classical music playlist on Spotify.  You found it was one of your favorite ways to relax.  After you climbed on Ziggy’s back, and kicked him into gear, you took off for the open fields near the road leading up to the farm.

You’d been out there for a while when you started hearing the faint rumble of an engine, but ignored it because trucks passed near this area all the time.  You probably shouldn’t have ignored it though, because when that modified-to-withstand-tornadoes red Dodge Ram 3500 turned on to the road and took off towards the main house, Ziggy took off after it.  By now, you shouldn’t have been surprised that he recognized the truck or the person in it, but you were…and because you were so thrown off by it, your hands (stupidly) had not been holding the reins.  And because you had not held on, you went flying off Ziggy’s back while he just followed the familiar truck.  Lucky for you, the fall didn’t cause you to go unconscious, but it did knock the wind out of you after you landed hard on your back.

As you attempted to take deep breaths, you heard someone yelling and running towards you, so you tried to sit up.  The voice yelled for you to not move, so you listened and stayed on the ground, with your eyes shut.  You just lay there, waiting.

All of a sudden:

“Are you okay?” the voice asked.  You knew that you knew who the voice belonged to but you were so thrown by being thrown that your brain wasn’t focusing.  You blinked your eyes open, and your vision swam before focusing on the most beautiful face.

“Wha-”

“Are you okay, darlin’?” he asked as he helped you sit up.

“Uh…”

“Did you black out?”

“No.”

“Do you know where you are?”

“Cathy’s farm, in Sapulpa.”

“Do you know your name?”  He smiled when you told him.  “Where’d you come in from?”

“New York City.”

“Why are you here?”

“I’m the new data analyst for the Wranglers.”

“Well…looks like we got another city girl that knows her stuff.”

You were the baby the little princess everyone adored even though you weren't the youngest, neytiri knew something was different when she was pregnant with you, she felt it.

They didn't figure it out straight away, neytiri was scared at first not knowing what is wrong with her child so she did everything in her power to figure it out, even your siblings knew something was wrong so they did everything to protect you but still include you in everything they did.

Norman was the first one to ask them because he watched as you would have your hands on everything and feeling along as you moved, when someone called you you would twist and turn looking for them intill they came closer to you.

Jake and neytiri refused at first but as they watched you more they saw it to and then their feelings of protectiveness increased they would tell your siblings not to take you to the cliffs or on trees because they were scared you'd get hurt, they'd also forbid you going off by yourself because they don't think you'd find your way back.

I listened to my mom hum as she prepared food I could feel her gaze on me every so often from my perch on a few of the boxes that layed around our home "is something the matter" she asked I could see her blurry form move around the small fire the shadow of it darkening my vision.

"Nothing everything is fine" I murmured closing my eyes and leaned my head back against the woven wall "are you excited for your outing with neteyam today" she said and I could hear her footsteps getting closer "yeah I am" I smiled it's been a few weeks since I've been down in the forest.

"Where's my baby sister" I cringed as I heard neteyam call me my nickname "logically tuk is the baby" I mumbled as mom grabbed my hand helping me to my feet "you'll always be a baby to me" he teased and took my hand from mom and slowly lead me out the tent.

He helped me onto his ikran and flew the both of us down to the ground "so how's trainings" I inquired as I slid off his ikran with him right behind me "it's.... challenging" he sighed taking my hand and leading me off into the forest the blurry colors of purple, blue and orange filling my gaze it made me smile.

"Oh I'm sorry" I whispered lightly squeezing his hand in a comforting manner "I'm here for you if you need me" I added making him chuckle "I know you are it's what siblings are for" I could hear the smile as he talked, we fell into a calm silence the ambiance of the forest taking over.

He took us to our normal spot which was by the glowing waterfalls, he sat me on the ground just far enough for my feet to reach the water "I just need to get some stuff for mom stay here and don't move" his voice became a bit stern as he spoke he always said this when we were out.

"Where am I supposed to go" I teased gesturing my hands around me "I can't see anything" he laughed at my words "you know what I mean" he called out as he walked away, I started to hum to myself enjoying the forest air as I waited, neteyam usually took about 3 to 6 minutes but if longer he would come check on me every now and then.

"Neteyam" I called out after hearing a few twigs creak but I knew I was wrong when I heard the chitering of the viper wolf's, I looked around furiously seeing a view black sploges move across my vision my breathing hitching as I felt the wind of one of them moving behind me.

My stomach dropped as I waited for an attack or anything but nothing came I could still hear them moving around me but they weren't attacking my eyebrows frowned in confusion what's wrong with them, I jerked as I felt their cold skin brush against mine as they walked past, my body sat frozen and the only noise I made was my soft breathes I need to stay calm.

They circled around a few times "yeah" neteyam yelled charging from the woods, I could hear the viper wolf's scatter as he ran toward me their chitering fading as they ran into the woods "what the hell was that" he asked breathlessly and I just shrugged, he quickly pulled me to my feet and back to his ikran "I'm gonna get killed" he muttered climbing on.

"What happened" my dad asked as neteyam told him and mom the story I could feel their protectiveness radiating off of them "oh my poor baby" mom cooed as she came to sit at my side pulling my body into her and kissing my forehead.

"I'm not letting you outside again"

His hands tousled your hair as you straddled the tracker, lips encompassing in a starved bliss. You weren’t entirely sure how you had ended up in a room together, you had suddenly appeared in the white walled confines after having one too many drinks with your group.

He, despite his better judgement of getting close to people that would no doubt eventually die in the apocalyptic mess that the earth had become, brought back the memories of not long ago at the quarry. Even when you were angry and standing out in the sun beaming daylight, remembered the pissed off glares that you would give him, and how the heated ball in the sky would accentuate the colours in your eyes.

It was a foolish thing to remember, however he was extremely turned on, and when you’d either yell at him or make comments that he did not appreciate about his sibling, he still thought you were hot. Most men would if they were on the other end of your aggression, and not many people had the guts to stand up to Merle.

He sure as hell didn’t.

You would think the higher ups of Hell would keep a closer eye on it and make sure it is heavily guarded and that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands or gets stolen.

Like you mean to tell me not once did any of the sins or Lucifer caught wiff of what was going on that a powerful object was being misused to kill people ???

Not a single royal took notice that imps were traveling to the living world with a powerful object ??? !!!

Like Blitz knew where to find it and easily stole it you would think again you would think someone would've caught wiff of it if this object was so powerful and would realize it was stolen especially since it was shown on a commercial for all of Hell to see {and yes while he air it on a channel that no one watched you would still think the higher ups would keep track of their objects and at least have some type of tracker or something to let them know it was stolen !!!}

Like they made such a huge deal of the grimoire but honestly the book lost all its credibility when we knew about the crystals and when they themselves don't even care about it even if it's at the hands of a prince/royal they would still try to keep a better eye on it !!!

Now with the whole Stella and the other bird {I forgot his name} again yall mean to tell me they never realized that Blitz is using the book to gain access to the mortal world ???

Now onto the case someone explain to me why Ozzie didn't tell the court the full truth ??? He knew about Stolas and Blitz deal so why didn't he defend Blitz when he had the chance ??? Imma talk about Striker and

Listen I'm bias on striker so what I'm about to say is my personal bias !!!

My own personal opinion Harvest Moon Striker is what Viv wants Blitz to be.

from Striker's introduction he hated royals he was the first to openly mock them he was the first to try and kill a royal {I know it was an Assassin job but it still doesn't change the fact he was the first to try and kill him} and he was the first to call out Hell and how the system was rigged against him and his people !!!

Not only that but it makes me laugh so hard that people were praising Blitz for calling out all the deadly sins in the courtroom but hated Striker for doing the same to Stolas but than again Blitz wasnt stabbing their beloved bird so I guess it don't count.

If Norman still voiced Striker Viv would've given Striker that storyline the one that involved Striker getting revenge for his people and actually tried to kill the higher ups !!! But he doesn't so Viv is giving him every mistreatment she can think of.

Also Viv you cannot call your character that's calling out how the system and how two of his kind basically became what Imps are expected to be {fiz a "pet" and Blitz a sex toy} a supremacist and than have your other character do the same calling out the system and how royals treat them !!! Like lady do you even know the words that you are using or are you just calling your characters every big word to sound smart ???

Like Viv just needs to kill Striker cause at this point every time she has him on screen she is either making him dumb or making him contradict himself like please just kill my snake boy off

Striker you deserve better and in a talented writer's hand you could've been one of the greatest villain/morally grey character ever written

Now back to the world building imma be honest mastermind and the whole court trial means jack shit because throughout the show we are shown that imps and all other hellborns are treated fairly !!! {Ironically the only time we saw them being treated badly was when Striker was first introduced}

Other than that they basically are treated decently !!!

Blitz and Co are able to run a successful company that they have "a shit tone of clients" and sinners already know about them once they are dead ???

Moxxie was able to not only get reservations at a high end restaurant but also preform there ??? {Let's also not forget Moxxie wasn't punished for disobeying a royal because Ozzie basically told him his club only allows derogatory things to happen there and the fact that after Ozzie told him to sing about it and chose to sing about romance and basically insulted a royal by not listening to him (yall can say I'm reaching but the fact that in other media if this happened the culprit would have punish) and he still sang it even after being told no

Millie got away with hurting Ozzies partner {in other forms of media if someone hurts a royals partner they would have been killed at the stake}

Fiz was not only able to quit working for Mammom but also insulted him and humiliated him in front of a large crowd and still got away with it {even if he was with Ozzie the other sins and royals would still punish Fiz}

Tex and Fiz are able to openly date royals

Loona was able to insult a royal and get away with it

Blitz was able to book an appointment at one of the best hospitals in Hell that they even treat Royals even if it takes years he was still able to book one.

And so much more like again the only time we the audience are reminded of the awful treatment of imps is when Striker is there like *makes wild hand gestures*

Stella didn't have to look for Via she didn't have to look for Via but she did she went to look for her daughter knowing she'd be hurt and comfort her.

911 ep 701 first watch reactions

(I don't think I have the energy to write proper Buddie meta, so here's me randomly squealing instead...)

LMAO In case you were wondering whether s7 of 911 will be subtle about their gratitude/debt to ABC for saving the show, the answer is a resounding no.

Also, I have lost a lot of respect for Frank as a shrink, but gained a lot of love for him as a sass king. "Did she win!?" The murderous look Athena gave him was priceless. I love her, too. She doesn't even need words to rule.

Man, nooooo. Don't give me a mutual "I love you" between Bobby and Athena like that.

9-1-1 is the superior comedy they slipped into our drink, while we were here for our weekly action, suspense, drama and familial love.

Buck broke off with Natalia, and the show really did it like that. XD Every single person who rolled their eyes at this pairing during s6, we were all justified, but wow. The show really is the only forum to respect the pair even less than fandom does. And of course we find out about it in the middle of a scene built around Eddie being half naked, Buck watching him, with the camera specifically turning so we can discover Buck was initially covered by Eddie's body, and the angle change reveals him, when the whole thing wraps up with Eddie welcoming Buck back to the land of the living... Yeah, wonder what made Buck feel alive again. Don't know. 'Tis a mystery. We were given zero clues...

"I want the honeymoon life." *cries* Chimney is just such a good, good man. And okay, expecting your whole life to be a honeymoon's a bit unrealistic, but Madney are living together and they have a child. They know this. Chim knows this, but he still wants to go for it. Aim for the moon, you'll at least land among the stars, right?

Bobby baffled by Athena's reaction to Norman and Lola is hilarious.

I like how Chim has a great idea, but it's still obvious that it's gonna go wrong, because he can't help going overboard with it...

OMG, that scene with Eddie recounting to Buck what Christopher's date was like... If I were to write my Buddie meta, I would serve a three course meal just from that. I mean, the fact that watching Chris hanging out with a girl he likes, makes Eddie compare it to "hanging out with his guy friends" (when there's no lack of interest in this girl... in fact, it turns out that if anything, Christopher's problem is the opposite of a lack of interest) is so telling. There's a reason why that's where Eddie's mind went.

But then also... Eddie's trust in Buck got to me, the way he went to his best friend (not his own gf) for help with Chris. But that was still played with half a smile. But then Buck sort of disses himself jokingly, and Eddie won't have it. "You didn't end up like you." He sees how Buck worked on being a better person, even when Eddie wasn't there for the worst of it, and he appreciates it, and won't let Buck forget it. Meeeep. I love them.

Oh Chim. I was giving you so much credit, and then you went and bought that outdoors jacuzzi. lol Still love him. That's what Maddie's reminding herself of right now, too. ;p

Poor Hen, she was great in this ep, but none of it was really about her, she was comic relief, both with Chim and with the red wire. Then again, she was amazing in this, like she always is with everything.

Eddie and Buck were both so good with Chris this ep, MY HEART. Buck with getting him to talk about what's really bothering him, and Eddie with realizing exactly what his son needs, and how to give it to him. They completed each other. Neither one would be helping Chris without the other one. Tell me again how they're not soulmates?

In conclusion, I love Bobby saying, "Let's go prove one of us wrong," when they're both right. Something WAS going on with Norman and Lola, AND Athena was using them to avoid him.

Argh. That scene of the ship and its passengers being hijacked was rough to watch. </3 I'll still be here to watch the conclusion of this. That's the power of 9-1-1 for you.

It def felt like a great kick to the new season. We had lots of comedy and fun, some great tension, some emotional moments (especially with Christopher), but all in all, it's still clear that the whole thing's a build up to next week. Are you excited?

Okay, so, this will be a stream-of-consciousness type post, because I am this close to starting to print screenshots and do a full murder board trying to make this make sense to someone who is not in my brain, so I'm gonna type this out, and if you're seeing this that means it worked or I just typed for too long to not post lol.

Buck, Actually. Buck, Bothered, and Bewildered. I am not the only person that desperately wants a callback, and I know I'm not the only one thinking about what this might mean for buddie. Well, I've been saying for a while now that I would try to type out something about how buddie has been planned and the answers are in Buck, Actually, and that's what I'm gonna do now, I guess.

We know Buck gets a lot of his ideas of love from Buck, Actually. Seeing Maddie and Chim in the early stages, his own quest with love while moving on from Abby, notably Mitchell and Thomas and the "you don't find it, son, you make it." Buck's quest with love now is at a point where Buck wants to be seen "I feel like she sees me" but he is still at a point where he doesn't want to actually be seen, he wants someone to see what he wants to show, but that's not what actual love is. But still, we start out Buck, Actually with Buck literally in front of a huge sign that says "See Me" (also just to add into my madness about the blue and green in other elements of the scene, love the clear divide of Eddie against the sky and Buck against the sign, and yes I know they can't change the color of the sky or the sign but shh just go with it) with Eddie right above it. Interesting scene composition I think.

But talking about the actual couple here, we have Lola, who feels like her husband doesn't see her anymore after a situation where she feels like she lost herself, their kid went off to college, she has more time to herself, is struggling, and goes nuclear until Norman proves that he does in fact see her, just not in the way she was looking for, dude just wasn't aware there was a problem that needed to be addressed. I know I make everything about the cemetery scene lately, but come on. The whole thing with being seen, Buck not knowing who he is after dying, the expectation he is putting on himself about being the person he was before but he doesn't know who that is, like, come on, it's there.

Then the robbers and the two employees at the gas station, granted the robbers are a lot about Buck thinking about his own ways when it comes to sex and women considering he just had sex with Taylor in a bathroom, BUT here is when I start to go a little crazy. Because Ruth and Earl have that little moment of a relationship developing (hi blue scrunchie green cap 🫶), which we later see has developed, but Earl with his injured right shoulder is talking about how he's hurt but he was only thinking about her safety.

Does that sound familiar to anyone else? Just a thought. Yes, I know I'm crazy, it's fine, it will get worse.

Because another thing about the episode is the whole "till death do us part" thing, with the newlyweds who crashed their car, Mitchell and Thomas dying together, and maybe even Buck having to hold Lola back so she wouldn't fall. I'll come back to this in a second, but you gotta love a nice little crush injury involving a vehicle and a focus on handholding, huh?

But the thing is, Mitchell and Thomas make an impression on Buck, and Mr Self Destruct for Attention because that was the only way I was shown love as a child definitely takes the way they die together a bit too literally. Taylor being in this episode while being blatantly wrong for Buck makes an interesting point on that and the way bucktaylor evolves, because Buck gets the whole you make it, and decides he needs to kill himself to make it work, and it is what he ultimately does with Taylor, he thinks he loves her, he thinks she loves him, and he thinks that means if he doesn't give up he can move past his very obvious reservations about the relationship as a whole because "love is not supposed to be easy". But the whole thing is that Buck focuses on the wrong thing there because while Michell and Thomas died together, they had a whole life together, the point is not the death, it is the life. Yes, you need to fight to make it work, but the fight is not all you have.

Another thing about the episode is the concept of movement too, like, Lola's call on a freeway, both accidents involving a car crash of some sort, the robbery is a chase, even Buck and Taylor in the news van, Maddie talking about how slow being on the freeway is, and metaphorically too, with Madney starting to move towards something, Athena learning to deal with Michael's boyfriend. And Buck finally allowing himself to move on, and move on not going back to his old habits, sleeping with anyone for connection, but actually talking to his love interest for a change.

And we have relationships in all types of moments there, we have Buck and Taylor doomed to fail, we have Maddie and Chim in that nice early stage where you're falling in love with someone, you have Bobby and Athena and the whole when you know you know and the way Bobby proposes the next episode, we have the newlyweds, we have Ruth and Earl making the change in their relationship, we have Robber Guy and Baby Bear realizing that she's more in it than he is, we have Lola and Norman and the whole relationships take effort no matter how long you've been together, you have Mitchell and Thomas sharing a whole life.

There's also the whole layer of having the couple that shows Buck what he wants out of love be a gay couple, the way when Buck realizes Thomas is unresponsive he calls for Eddie first, because Chim and Hen are at the call, and they're not with Mitchell because Mitchell's body is there too, so like, the choice to make sure Eddie would be right next to Buck to comfort him is something.

Also, something else, the inmate who kidnaps them is also called Mitchell, and I cannot explain how I got here for the life of me. But Mitchell, Mitchell, Charlie, Charlie, Ambulance.

I don't know, something about the repetition of names, the ambulance as a key piece of the scene, the bonding, the comfort, the fear, the way Mitchell and Thomas died together, and Buck and Eddie could have died together in all of those situations. And the way Buck volunteers into the danger in all of those situations, he offers to help Eddie with the grenade, he goes to get Eddie without backup while actively being shot at, he runs toward the gunfire because he thinks Eddie is in danger, so like, it's a pattern of wanting to go together.

But also, the madney of it all, because while they are clearly moving towards something, they are not ready yet, but everything is acknowledged, which honestly is my main hope, because I don't think buddie is ready yet, but I would like some acknowledgment that where they're going, yk? And with the episode title possibly being a play with the song about being in love and not showing it, not knowing what to do with it, and the next episode being called "you don't know me" who could also be referencing a song about being in love with someone who doesn't know, we could be looking at real movement happening between the two of them yk?

I don't know if this makes a lot of sense, but if you read this I love you 🫶

Dear AMC

Okay, so here's where I'm at following the David Zabel quotes released yesterday. I truly hate to be in this negative mindset and I wanted my tumblr to be a fun space only, but it's what I'm feeling, so I'm going to get it out. This is the most serious post I'll ever write (hopefully) so buckle up.

I'm not doing this because I don't want to continue to spread joy about caryl. I'm doing this because, if there's any chance, however small, that I can help to make a positive difference for the people I've come to care about, then I'm going to do that. This is because I care about female representation and empowerment. And because I care about what these stories mean to and for people, and especially people who relate to characters who have experienced abuse. Holding these characters' stories is a responsibility and those who do so need to be held accountable for how they do it.

I'm going to talk a lot now, but it's going to mainly be about Melissa, Isabelle's character, David Zabel, Greg Nicotero, and the idea of romantic caryl. I'm going to try to break it up into sections just because it's so long.

Melissa

Melissa McBride snuck up on me. I started watching TWD a couple of years after it first aired and like many, I fell for Daryl as a character. I observed his chemistry with Carol and always thought their relationship was something special. But like many, I gave up on the show around season 6/7. When TWD was released on Now TV in the UK this year, I decided to catch up, and season 9 hooked me on #caryl. Specifically, I was mesmerised by Melissa McBride and I've only grown to love her more. It's been beautiful finding the fandom and realising that Melissa McBride is the beating heart of it. She might not have as many Twitter followers as Norman Reedus, but she is valued more than I have seen any actor and she honestly doesn't even have to try. Fans will support her for walking to a car. I like Norman but I love Melissa.

Melissa looks happier than I have ever seen her look and she is honestly the only thing that has been keeping me tethered to any hope that I will enjoy this spinoff. My hype has been 100% driven by Melissa and how she has spoken about being back. I've already paid for Carol merch, which is something I never do. And if it wasn't for the fact I knew she was coming back at the end of season 1, I honestly wouldn't have watched Daryl Dixon. After investing in their relationship over 12 years of TWD, I'm not interested in seeing Daryl solo travel the globe and find a girl in every port. I'd rather watch something else and pretend the spinoff doesn't exist. But since Melissa is here and she's happy, I've still been hooked.

Seeing Carol confront her trauma surrounding Sophia is something I have been wanting for years. Since I started watching TWD again this year, all you'd ever hear me say is "why does no one ever talk about Sophia?". So I am beyond happy that story is receiving a spotlight in season 2. And I sense this is what Melissa is happy about too.

Beyond that, I really feel like Melissa doesn't have much space for her own voice. At SDCC, she said that she's quiet on her EP notes because she's the new person. And David Zabel made a joke that she doesn't want to make him cry (hilarious). Of course, I have no idea what the reality is, but my gut feeling is that Melissa is happy that she finally had some control with her character's own story after 14 years. But I truly don't believe she has even been given the space to think about how she *personally* would like the caryl story to look, let alone what they choose to do with the other major female character's story. I think Melissa respects Norman and trusts him with that part of the story. She knows he's had more power with the other producers - he was there for all of season 1, it's his name on the title of the show, and he chose the showrunner and writers.

And as for everything else, Melissa has spent the majority of her career in a male-dominated genre, all of her most powerful coworkers are part of that demographic, and in response to caryl, she has been the target of misogyny and ageism that is ongoing today. If I were her, I'd feel I can only speak so loud for so long before someone feels I've stepped on their toes.

While I do believe Norman cares about her deeply, I don't have any reason so far to trust that he understands the nuances of sexism well enough to be able to make the calls I'd want him to make. I really feel that if he did, he would never have agreed to the half naked shipbait nun scene in season 1. On to my next section...

Isabelle, David Zabel and Greg Nicotero

I will die on the hill that Isabelle's story should never have been touched by any inkling of shipbait, because she is a dedicated nun. The idea of romance for her present day story (especially with the male lead) grossly over-simplifies the decisions that led her to become a nun.

I do personally feel that the isabelle-laurent-daryl surrogate family idea is *pretty much* just that. I think, personally, DZ is lying when he says that the idea of romance wasn't manufactured. I think he wants us to believe that what we see on screen is organic. Absolutely nothing about the half naked wound helping scene, the happy stares across rooms with a happy score, and the 'isabelle just woke up in hospital and oh look its daryl's crossbow he must have been looking over her' scene is organic. Those are manufactured. Until episode 6, I liked isabelle and I think clemence is great. But daryl and isabelle's chemistry is non existent. I honestly think calling it a friendship is a stretch. Maybe the god awful, problematic "are you going to do to laurent what your dad did to you" could have been forgiven if they'd genuinely had any compelling bond whatsoever, but they didn't, and at best, it came off as needy. At worst (and what it actually was) was emotionally abusive. The thing I have always loved about caryl is that they *never* guilt-tripped each other like that. I really hope Zabel knows that line was truly offensive.

So anyway, I don't know, I think DZ would have liked it to go romantic, but nobody liked it. And based on the way they talked about it at SDCC, I think Norman is set on the idea it's really all about Laurent, and Isabelle is just another adult who cares about the kid so he cares about her too. However, I do think Nicotero and Zabel are invested in the idea that Daryl is falling for her. Nicotero in particular is obsessed with the idea that Daryl's falling for her while he doesn't know Carol is on her way - I actually find him enjoying that idea repulsive. So, I think they've written some ship bait in there, but I think Norman's acting choices will be reluctant. So, as long as there isn't something physical between them, I think Norman and Melissa's chemistry can recover from it. But. Zabel (and Nicotero) are showing their true colours.

While we're on Nicotero. I recently discovered that he has spoken about supporting b*thyl before. So, if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about him and his idea of how women and romance should be presented on screen in 2024, I don't know what will.

Romantic Caryl

Finally, I want to address the idea of whether Carol and Daryl should or could add a romantic element to their relationship. Lots of people that I agree with have already written well articulated thoughts about this, including this by my-mt-heart. My personal feelings are these.

Carol and Daryl have built a layered, deep, and emotionally rich relationship over 11 seasons of TWD. Fans are aware of the romantic layers throughout the years, and even those who don't follow it closely can see the romantic potential. It would be a disservice to fans to let those years of layering and emotional depth fall flat. And frankly, so many fans simply won't follow. (And if you're worried about fans who don't like the idea not watching - well, honestly, I don't like R*chonne. Love them both individually but I never saw the chemistry and it felt random to me. But I still watched them and cared about them and their story and I even watched The Ones Who Live despite cringing the whole time.)

The creative opportunities are huge. Carol and Daryl are not a stereotypical love story by any means. Their dynamic has been fuelling creative minds for over a decade. I would personally admire any showrunner/writer who steps up to the challenge. Alternatively, not bothering comes across as lazy and cowardly to me.

At this point, there's absolutely no doubt in the audience that Carol and Daryl are soulmates. Their happy ending has been an important theme for a while now. And they are the characters that fans care about. Even fans who don't care about whether they have a romantic relationship agree that their idea of a happy ending would be with each other (and Dog). This wouldn't have to be romantic, but since we know that they are both interested in romantic relationships and have some romantic foundations together - why not? No other romantic relationship either of them could have is ever going to match up against Daryl and Carol's relationship. And why should they both be deprived of romance if they are both interested in romantic relationships? Who does that serve?

The idea that two people can so selflessly love each other for over a decade and end up together romantically is the ultimate bond of love. Suggestions that romance would 'cheapen' or 'ruin' a bond make me question what those people think romance means. It isn't the same as R*chonne's romance. It's quiet and calm and careful. It's two damaged souls uplifting each other. So many viewers are empowered by that sort of story.

It would show that AMC are progressive and not ageist or sexist.

Final thoughts

I can't express enough how much I wanted to ignore all of my doubts about this spinoff because of Melissa's involvement and because I genuinely do trust her creative imagination more than anyone. But the comments by Zabel that were released yesterday have brought back the pit I was feeling in my stomach. I trust Melissa and I will always trust Melissa. But I don't trust Zabel. I don't trust that Zabel is doing right by Melissa or by the characters of Carol and Daryl. That doesn't mean that I think he's evil and doing nothing at all right. I just truly believe that we deserve better and Melissa deserves better.

I will give all of my hard earned cash and time to Melissa projects, but I won't do the same for Zabel, or even Norman without Melissa.

Sometimes I wonder…

I will address this one time, spoiler warning below I guess if folks haven’t been keeping up or trying to avoid them.

In regards to a certain article, im not sure if I’m reading the same as some because all I see is things we already knew. We know from the leaked 2x06 script pages that Caryl are going to finally work through their own personal demons; for Carol she’ll FINALLY deal with the loss of Sophia (as well as Lizzie and Mika I suspect) which will move her past her desire to run. In Melissa’s own words, she’s “saving herself by going to save Daryl”.

Daryl will get past his hero complex/feeling the need to save everyone thanks in part to Isabelle’s death (dude really has his inner self say through a ghost-nun that he’s still breathing so he shouldn’t dwell on what he couldn’t do).

No Caryl aren’t going to jump each others bones as soon as they are reunited because they have things they have to work through, making themselves different versions to have a healthy relationship. So they can stop the nagging voices saying they aren’t good enough for the other. We had past seasons of promised “talks that never happened” from past showrunners but now we are finally getting it, so I don’t see how that’s bad.

Melissa, Norman, and Zabel have had long discussions about where they see their/the characters going; Melissa herself gushed about getting to delve into things she hadn’t for years and how she’s having so much fun getting to do the work. IMO, they’re NOW getting to do the show THEY’VE wanted to do for a while. I’m excited and here for all of it.

Thoughts on TBOC PalyFest

It started out fine. It felt like Melissa and Louis were getting more opportunities to talk and obviously I liked the focus on Daryl's and Carol's reunion because their relationship is (or should be) the show's beating heart.

I strongly disagree with Gimple that the 204 reunion topped Terminus. It was an imitation and it played in a vacuum.

Norman said "When they come together. The sound goes out. They're the only two people on the planet." And this is what I mean about the vacuum. That sentiment does come out during the scene, but it does not hold true after the scene is over, at least not on Daryl's end.

Gimple really said "we wanted to make Daryl not know who he was anymore" like that was smart.

When asked why Isabelle had to die, Zabel said that "It was looking at the sort of grand plan of the show and building to sort of where we felt like it was gonna go, and specifically in terms of kind of getting to a version that was really Daryl and Carol trying to make their way through new territories and new environments. And so that they seem to go together." Naturally his first instinct is to blame Carol/Melissa for another female character's death, but that is so false it's laughable. Isabelle died because he's a misogynist. Frankly, I think he would have killed her off eventually even if Carol didn't come back.

Both Zabel and Gimple suggest that the death makes Caryl's reunion more compelling because it allows Carol to show up for Daryl when he's "at his lowest." Translation: Carol is also there just to be Daryl's support.

According to Zabel, we can expect the idea of Carol being there for Daryl at his lowest to pop back up in S3, which is just further confirmation to me that the season is fucked. Just because the location changes doesn't mean the misogyny will.

It's one thing for Zabel to think a romance between Daryl and a nun he just met made any fucking sense for the character, but what's Norman's excuse? He said Daryl was wondering "why I can't have this" as if the flagship show never fucking happened. Why does this man have so much creative control when he doesn't seem to know or care about who Daryl is?

When asked what Carol thinks about Daryl's relationship with Isabelle and the other characters in France, Melissa said that it was surprising for her and I think she spoke for all of us when she said of Daryl "I don't know you anymore." I cannot emphasize enough how deeply heartbreaking of a story it is for Carol to do everything in her power to find the most important person in her life and after just a few short months, he's already found a new family. Carol deserved a thousand times better. She is not the one who needs to be there for Daryl going forward. He needs to fucking show up for her, but I don't trust the four horsemen to ever do her justice. The leadership on this show needs to fucking change yesterday.

I'm flabbergasted, I'm shocked, I'm disappointed, and frankly? I'm indignant.

In a series with so, so very little in terms of representation in canon, a series that had what I THOUGHT was 2-3 confirmed POC (we'll get to that 2-3 bit btw), 1 Jewish man, a handful of women who's writing is hit-or-miss, and no queer characters because according to one of the creators "their identities don't matter"... (Tell that to the straight characters like Henry, Thomas, Allison, Susie, Linda who's not even a character and didn't need to exist in the first place-)

Norman Polk is white.

I'm. astonished. For the record, because I know someone will likely bring it up, I am aware that there was never a point in the series where it was ever actually confirmed that Norman was a black man. But it was very much the consensus for most people that he was coded to be POC. To see this is just.. it's disheartening.

Dreams Come to Life seemingly (egg on my face for thinking Norman was black ig???) had 3 POC characters; Norman, Thomas, and Jacob. This was... maybe changed to 2 later on, as JDS went back on coding Thomas as a black man (an announcement they made in a Discord server of all things?? Never publically???) which they may have gone back on again later since the wiki (not official, for the record) recognizes him as black.

3 characters, and we're now down to possibly one; I say possibly because it depends on how Thomas is represented in this book. If he's black, we've got 2. If he's white?

One. One character who's never made an appearance in the games; only in spinoff material in a book. One.

In the simplest way I can put it, I'm upset. There's lots more I can talk about here; how I think this opening is a disservice and bastardization of the original writing for cutting so much out, how while it can look worse (I've read a good handful of fnaf books I KNOW it can look worse) I can't say it really looks any good, how Buddy looks like he's 12, how the yellows are garish and piss-looking. But what has me the most upset is Norman, because he was 1 of 2-3 POC characters, out of a cast of dozens upon dozens. And sure, there could be more. But we only had 3 confirmed. Maybe 2.

And now we may be down to one.

I actually spoke with my partner a few nights ago about how nervous I was about the graphic novel. Because of how the cover looked, I wasn't expecting anything great. But I knew there was a chance they'd double down and be like 'Nope, actually Thomas is white, always was' I was anticipating that, and I still am. And I looked at them and told them something roughly along the lines of- "I can live with them making Thomas white, cause of them trying to back-peddle once, I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't know how I'd handle them whitewashing Norman."

I still don't know how to handle it. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. People have done amazing designs of Norman for AUs and personal headcanons. Hell, all the staff really. And a majority of them, you'll find, are black. Almost everyone thought he was black. Not this pale Afton knock-off (seriously his hair looks greasy as hell, I know it's a stylization of the lighting but it looks gross)

I'm just throwing my thoughts out here for anyone who cares. Maybe most people won't mind, and fine. Again, it wasn't stated, it was seemingly coding, but clearly, we were wrong because he's paler than the fucking moon. But this is upsetting. This is genuinely upsetting to see. We have so little rep in this series, and the number is somehow dwindling.

I just finished Philip Norman's biography of John, and I was left with the impression that John was almost ridiculously insecure all throughout his life. I've only just begun a deep dive into the Beatles beginning six months ago. Would you say that Norman's portrayal of John's insecurities is accurate, or exaggerated?

First of all it should be understood that Philip Norman is a company man. He does not write biographies that are records of real events + his personal analysis/thoughts and feelings of the subject. Norman receives assignments from his publisher or sponsor, in this case Yoko Ono, and then he writes what he is told to write. Philip Norman is otherwise a very hateful person that is not capable of the critical, skeptical, but also sympathetic eye that is required of a good biographer. If you want an example of a good John biography then the closest you will get is The Making of John Lennon by Francis Kenny. Kenny examines John's life and beliefs in the historical context of Liverpool, where Kenny himself grew up, and then talks about how he believes this influenced John's direction in life.

Once you compare this and other sources to Phil Norman you start seeing what a mouthpiece he is. Yoko Ono wanted to tell a specific story about John and she ensured that happened. Norman does have occasional flashes of insight but then retreats into boomer jean jacket bullshit like when he desperately buries May Pang during the section on The Lost Weekend, because Yoko needed to minimize May's role as it made Yoko looks remarkably awful in comparison. John suffered immensely as a result of being partnered to Yoko and May Pang is a blatant demonstration of how quite literally anyone else would have been a better choice for him. The Norman biography was one of Yoko's desperate attempts to cover this up. It is only recently that the people who still love John have been able to start fighting back like May getting her documentary out.

When it comes to John Lennon himself: "insecure" is a good word for it, yes. John was fought over as a status marker from pretty much the moment he was born. His mother was unable or unwilling to invest in him and happily abandoned him for years at a time; his father was too cowardly to make a stand as a father and take care of him properly, preferring to run around in a perpetual midlife crisis for decades; his aunts including Mimi hated his mother Julia and only took John in as a way to get back at her since Julia was the golden child of their family; Mimi Smith had very mixed feelings about John that she often took out on him; and then John catapulted into the viper's nest that is the entertainment industry which is tailor made to destroy people like him. Pick any celebrity that has gone off the rails and self destructed in public and you will find someone with a similar upbringing that tried to find consolation by becoming a public figure.

John had a massive sucking hole in his chest after a life time of being used and betrayed and shuffled around as a chess piece by his own flesh and blood. It is not overstating the issue to say the only people in the entire world who loved John for being John were the other Beatles and Brian Epstein. That marked him and left him perpetually frightened and paranoid of everyone around him. It's no wonder John was a basket case.

Norman's portrayal of John is 'accurate' in that it at least it chronologically lays out the events of John's life. These are a matter of public record so it's hard to fuck that up. The primary issue with Norman is the same issue with pretty much all of John's biographies: Yoko Ono has her fist so far up the writer's ass that you can see her fingers moving every time a word goes down on a page. You can get a lot of interesting detail out of Norman (like Tim being a lost Persian that followed John home) but everything in John's life is framed through Yoko's lens. And she despises Paul and hates The Beatles. As far as I'm concerned Philip Norman's book is just another hit job against everyone who actually loved John (and notably Yoko was not one of those people.) Therefore I cannot recommend it to anyone.

The problem is that there is no real credible John biography yet. Maybe after Yoko passes away and Sean decides that he doesn't have to defend the indefensible anymore. When it does happen, Paul is going to have to step very firmly on the back of the author's neck to make sure that no Yoko worship happens inside the book and that John is portrayed fairly.

In front of others he acts very nervous and shy, and he tends to stutter. He's very quiet and tends to have panic attacks when speaking to others. He can stutter a lot when he talks and can't talk to others well. He can get very anxious and nervous. He hates to be in social interactions and is very skittish and will look down to not have eye contact.

He's very dependent on you and will want reassurance that you love him and won't abandon him. He'll want and need you to reassure him that you're staying with him and that you love him. He needs you to say you love him and will get jealous if you don't constantly express your love for him. He needs to feel reassured that your love and feelings for him never change.

He'll fight with you if you don't pay him constant attention, give him reassurance, say you love him, or if he thinks you're in a relationship with someone else. He fights easily due to his paranoia and possessiveness over you.

He's very affectionate and will show his feelings with constant praise, hugs, kisses, and even cuddles and such. He'll want to always be near you and will try to find every opportunity to be close to you. He'll be very clingy and will love physical contact and will hold you whenever he has the chance. He'll always want to be near you and shower you with affection.

On dates, he likes to be sweet and clingy. He wants to make sure you're always near him and always hold your hand.
