I've seen a few posts about Eddie having a nightmare one night (pre buddie, when he and Buck are alternating nights sleeping on the couch and the bed respectively) when he's sleeping on the couch and going and crawling in with Buck. Don't get me wrong, they're cute, and I love the idea of them waking up together in bed, but consider:

Eddie wakes up from a nightmare, in bed, because it's his turn (and when did he start having turns in his own bedroom?) He's shaking, breathing heavily and on the verge of a panic attack and just...doesn't want to be alone. So he goes and checks on Chris, and glances at Buck snoring on the couch because he might as well check on both his boys while he's up, then tries to go back to sleep.

He can't. He's just too wound up.

He wants Buck. But he isn't about to wake Buck just because he had a nightmare, he's a grown man. Besides, it's not like he could ask Buck to sleep with him. Or- next to him. not with him, not like-

Anyway. He's not about to ask Buck to share his bed is the point.

But...he could still sleep beside him couldn't he? He knows he'll feel better with Buck nearby, when he can hear his soft snores and see the rise and fall of his chest when he turns over.

Besides, he's ex military. He's slept far worse places than his carpeted living room floor.

So he grabs his duvet and his pillow, and pads into the living room, taking a minute to appreciate how soft Buck's face looks before settling down beside the couch in a very masculine, not at all pathetic way.

He's asleep less than five minutes later.

When Buck wakes the next morning the first thing he sees is Eddie's slack face drooling onto his pillow, loose limbs spread out on the floor beside him.

It's the cutest thing he's ever seen.
