people rightly criticize how team 7 reacted to sasuke's pursuit of justice for his clan, but one thing i feel is always overlooked in these discussions is how sakura literally is not granted the option by the narrative to learn about what sasuke has been through — not in the way that naruto, kakashi, or even team taka are. throughout all of part 2, she is operating under the assumption that sasuke killed itachi and then turned on the village for no apparent reason.

in part 1, she offers to help sasuke with his plan to kill itachi and even says she'll come with him so he won't have to handle a clearly dangerous and unstable sannin alone. she tells him she wishes he would be more open with her because she wants to understand what he's going through. (all of this stands in stark contrast to naruto, who says he'll break every bone in sasuke's body to bring him back, or kakashi, who projects his own traumas on to sasuke.) then in part 2, she can't bring herself to hurt him despite ample opportunity and even though (as far as she knows) he's become a violent criminal. throughout the series, she's averse to inflicting harm on others (aside from the punching naruto gag). is it really so unreasonable to imagine that if she knew sasuke was avenging the state-sponsored genocide of his clan, she would respond differently? with more empathy and compassion for his circumstances, and anger of her own towards konoha?

I feel like for years I've seen people trot out the same old hot take about men being right wing. It goes something like this.

This is wrong. If you spend time in the spaces that breed right wing thought, it ought to be hilariously obviously wrong. Right wing men, in fact, seek out spaces where they are told they are scum and that they should kill themselves. They seek out spaces that are tough and hostile. They watch Fullmetal Jacket and see training with the drill Sargent there as aspirational, stuff that a "real man" would do.

They do this because 1) it gives them a sense of accomplishment and a feeling of strength 2) makes them feel better than you (yes, you specifically, sad little queer person defending the Poor Mens on tumblr).

It's not that they want a space where they don't get verbally abused. It's that they want to be verbally abused by you, because you're beneath them. Abuse from a superior is not only acceptable, but edifying. Women, feminists, and faggots will never be worthy distributors of edifying abuse because those are people in an inherently inferior status.

But by all means, try making the hugbox softer for men! Surely if you spend more time explaining exactly how much you'd coddle them, they'll become leftists any day now!

See the thing is. I know I'm good at writing. Like I have my weak areas or things I need to improve in, but it's not a skill I otherwise spend a lot of time feeling insecure about because a) if I don't believe in my writing literally who will b) if I want to publish my writing I ought to at least feel a resting level of good about it because editors and agents likely will not be cradling my face like a prize cat and telling me how talented I am while asking for their edits c) I've always had an audience for my writing even at its worst– I started sharing my original works online when I was around 16 & that really helped sell to me the idea of 'there will always be someone out there who likes what you do' d) untalented men never think this hard about the quality of their works and they always end up published anyway and e) I don't have many other thoroughly developed skills so why not have one I feel good about. Having said this. Awkward feeling to realize you're one of the authorial weak links in your postgraduate creative writing degree's social circle

Oooh - this is actually the first I've heard of this theory, but I can definitely see where people are making the connections. I don't think Alastor is an infestor demon himself because while he is emotionally manipulative, sadistic, and quite canny at reading people, it seems that is more his delightfully horrid personality rather than any preternatural advantage. Also, his actual approach to eliminating his targets is, uh, brutal and overwhelming violence, not luring people into traps and supernaturally feeding off of their misery. I think there's probably a lot of sadism and shadowy-ness going around hell in general. He also doesn't have any fishy themeing whatsoever!

But I think it would be really neat if he did have connections to the Von Eldritch family. He does have a pretty pronounced negative reaction the moment he realizes Lucifer is coming to the hotel, prior to ever meeting him, even though Lucifer himself isn't familiar with who Alastor is. Alastor's opinion could be based on reputation, but it would be fun if the real reason for his reaction was that the Von Eldritches were the ones who got their claws into his soul! When demo got first hired by pauling he was like very shy and introverted at some point where everyone wasn’t like… that conjoined and besties as how they are now. And i feel like he got a pretty rough time to even start to talk with his teammates or get a tiny friendship with them.

And he often times was very threatened by small lady in glasses that liked to be strict with them in their first day since… it was business only ofc

but by the time when pauling got a bit more soft with them, and got also a bit friendly with demo i feel like at some point he started to develop a tiny crush with her since she was the one who often talks more with, and i have this other hc that also he would fell easily with people that befriends him (not like anyone of course it really does depends the person for him)

so you know pauling it’s nerdy and a bit sensitive (she cries very easily) and she is very friendly or a bit more extrovert if she gets to, but like in a sense where she is more ambivert too. uhhh idk she is just talkative with people if you get her chance where she’s not busy and will tell you to go to hell. rough lady

Being both a Charles and Carlos fan, the past few days have been exhausting… I have blocked so many anti Charles and Carlos accounts on almost all my social accounts. And I thought you know, the race weekend is done and there’s a two-week gap until the next one and things will a bit calm…

But now, what do you mean Carlos’s mum liked a tweet that was hating/calling Charles dishonourable? I don’t really care much what the drivers’ families do, because I am only here for the drivers and they are their own separate individuals. And whatever the families do shouldn’t reflect on the drivers or be their fault.

But this. This was stupid. Why would you do that? Your son is already not being liked and he had a good weekend (ignoring the robbery). And insulting his teammate who is loved very dearly and your son likes him too or at least considers him as a friend, you’re just making it worse for your son.
