"Don't be like Sentinel."

Don't be like Sentinel, who put his own desires over the needs of everyone else on Cybertron and made their choices for them. (Was D killing Sentinel to fulfill his own desire for revenge with no consideration for what all of Sentinel's other victims might want not him selfishly making their choice for them?)

Don't be like Sentinel, who as a leader promoted values that made their society worse. (It was normalized caste discrimination for Sentinel, but is setting a precedent for brutality against those who get in your way or wrong you as acceptable "justice" really any better for a leader to be exemplifying? And becoming the new leader by killing the former, is that not effectively what Sentinel did?)

Don't be like Sentinel, who had just been planning to publicly execute D, Bee, and half the High Guard without a trial just like D is about to do now. (Executing someone without trial or due process, when he's already been defeated and is helpless on the ground, is murder, not justice.)

I'm getting tired of the Orion Pax slander. Orion wasn't even saying that D's like Sentinel at this point. He was pleading with D to not act like Sentinel when they're better than that. Claiming that Orion was saying "the act of killing the bad guy alone is enough to make D just as bad is him" is literally the most surface-level reading of that scene.

And this isn't even getting into Megatron's presumption in taking Megatronus' cog for himself to gain more power, which is exactly what Sentinel did, or his indiscriminate destruction of Iacon heedless of the collateral damage. Both of these happened afterwards but only serve to prove Orion's point.

Sure, D's motivations are more sympathetic than Sentinel's ever were, but when his actions are functionally similar, when they produce similar results, is it really wrong to say that D is behaving like Sentinel? Orion was right. Sure, maybe it wasn't the most effective way to get through to D, but regardless D has agency and he made a very deliberate and conscious decision to betray his friend and become a tyrant. That's not Orion's doing. I've also seen takes that imply it's Optimus Prime's fault that civil war happens because he banished Megatron, when it was Megatron that attacked Optimus when he returned, and it's Megatron who chooses to start the war.

Just real tired of the takes that subtly or even not-so-subtly blame Orion/Optimus for D/Megatron's own choices, or try to exonerate Megatron because he was angry and hurting. Megatron's feelings are valid. It doesn't justify his actions.

Why is like, the controversial/weird part of the fandom plagued by "fun police"?

I don't think this fandom is toxic, far from it! Loveliest experience I've had actually! Yet every fandom has that troubling side, and what has caught my eye is that the troubling side in this fandom is not ship wars, is not people being weird.

Is just... fun police?

"People should stop writing michie that way, is toxic", "if you enjoy Sam sweetly I don't trust you", "you have to write this ship this exact way otherwise you're a bad person for liking it". Where's the headcanon love? The fan creation whimsy?

How can you be so boring to literally throw shade at headcanons or different interpretations? Imagine having to follow 56754986 rules you set yourself to be able to enjoy some fictional fan media. I find it so weird, specially in the Hatchetfield fandom because most characters there are fucking assholes.

I know I'm not usually bringing this stuff in my blog, but yesterday and today I read some things and I just wanted to throw something there.

I get it now. I get why Sam hate gets me so mad. It's the autism — wait, hear me out. I have this deep need to be understood. I need people to understand me. I will keep explaining even if it's like talking to a brick wall because I can not let myself be misunderstood. I will over explain if I have to, yet I'm still not heard.

Sam is the same. Sam is misunderstood by this fandom. They hate him and don't even try to see his point of view. Sam is misunderstood by the other characters in the show. All Sam wants is to be good and no one fucking sees it and it drives me crazy! Because I GET it, you know??

I also try so hard to understand others despite not getting the same treatment in return. Like, is media literacy dead? Is that why they hate him? Do they care about Dean and Cas that much that they have to demonize Sam? What is it? What did he do?? I don't understand. He doesn't need to be everyone's favorite, but hating him is insane to me. Other characters have done so much worse and are praised constantly.

And it's like no matter what he does, and no matter what I say — people will hate him. And I can't do anything about it, and it's so frustrating, and it makes me sick to my stomach.

I've never been this defensive over a character. I get upset, but never like this. They won't even try. They've already made up their minds. They won't listen. It's so fucked.

One thing I noticed while catching up to Ros VODs that I find kinda annoying is how much people bring up Sneeg

Yes, I love Sneeg, I love LoSA, and I get that he usually is based af whenever he talks. But Ros can figure out things herself.

It's something I noticed happens pretty frequently, I remember when she was working out a part of the castle, people in chat were like "ask Sausage for help!", and yeah I get it he's an amazing builder, but Ros is one as well, she's just asking chat for a quick second opinion.

I feel that chat really undermines Ros, and she already spoken on how Sneeg usually gives solutions instead of emotional support, how on some issues you want to just feel valid in your feelings or just to figure out why you are reacting a certain way, you don't want a solution.

But coming back to the point, what annoys me isn't just that chat doesn't listen, but more how everytime something happens chat is immediately "tell Sneeg", it feels like they're ignoring Ros' feelings on the matter and just want Sneeg to interact more with the rest of the Realm

I also remember that some people described LoSA's dynamic as Clown and Sneeg being Ros's parents, which is specially weird since Clown is just a year older than Ros? It just feels icky idk

i say this as a genuine fan of helluva boss. i say this is a genuine fan of Stolas. he’s my blorbo worblo silly rabbit and i will love him until i die

that being said, i cannot fucking stand what season 2 has done to him

season 1 stolas was so FUN. the posh way he acted was FUN. the way he clearly carried himself as a royal was FUN. the demeaning way he spoke was FUN. his hypsersexuality was FUN. he was genuinely an entertaining character that i not only enjoyed but honestly related to in a lot of ways

whether intentional or not, season 2 stolitz (and by extension, stolas) feels like SUCH a fucking retcon. it genuinely feels like the narrative is trying to gaslight us into thinking that stolas was always this noble hearted and humble prince when (as many have pointed out) HE VERY CLEARLY WASN’T (AND STILL ISN’T)

that and it just feels like all of the character traits from before that made him entertaining to watch have just been replaced with Sad and Desperate. im sure there’s a way to flesh him out beyond just a Horny and Strange Prince Guy. but i just cant help but feel like this isnt the most satisfying way to do it

I don't keep up with Blair White and her bullshit, but I just watched a video of someone reacting to one of her videos. In summary, Blair White is blaming trans people (mostly nonbinary people) for all anti trans stuff and hate. I'm not surprised, but yeah, let's victim blame Blair.

Mantah Corps. is the villain of Camp Cretaceous but honestly, props to them for making the only not deadly as fuck hybrid dinosaur.

Like, Wu was over here making; a horror movie monster looking dinosaur that has scorpion fish DNA and kills anything with a heat signature, a white dinosaur that managed to convince a pack of four raptors to betray the man that raised them and killed an entire field of brachiosaurus just for fun, and a third hybrid that was created by using a bone from the second hybrid and was designed to be a killing machine as a military weapon

Good on Mantah Corps. for not making a completely carnivorous hybrid. Even if part of the spinoceratops/sino-spinos DNA is most likely sourced from the JP3 Spinosaurus I'm at least hoping the Sinoceratops DNA could help them be more mellow.

Also Wu should've learned his lesson the first time when his first hybrid had completely erratic behavior and tried to kill him

I really don't want to be the account that writes CecilXReader, but here we are I guess. 👁️👁️

However be aware that I really dislike how Amazon is forcing us to like him, It felt Better when he was a neutral, marginal morally greyish (dark grey) character.

Like he represents everything I personally dislike irl, establishment, status quo, law enforcement, police brutality, republicans, entitled men that gaslight their way into harming everything and everyone they want... I DON'T NEED a justification to like the 2D incarnation of this list, simply because there is no amount of justifications that can excuse actions that come from his nature, not his role.

I am mature enough to distinguish a character from real life, I know he's a piece of shit, that's the point! He might have his own personal reasons, but his moral compass isn't Absolute Justice, even if he serves It.

He's not a compassionate guy that would sacrifice everything to save anybody, he's an executive that hardly accepts the fallimentary nature of human beings (him included) eventually learns to live with It (poorly), and keeps sacrificing the butt of society every time, every day, instead of bringing even the vague change, just to keep shit running, or even for personal gain. In the comics is stated more clearly, but he costantly wastes people's money, which might be a funny joke, but really is just a flaw.

So I dislike how none of It gets addressed, but rather pushed under the rug, and then justified!

Justified my ass, thousands of reanimen broken, governament money wasted, GotG dismantled, the only person that could actually save the Globe from fascist aliens, LOST, and all to prove a Point! Like fuck you, Idc about your Scar, everyone has traumas, they don't justify shit, if anything they explain beheaviours, give sense to things, but definitely not justify!

Want to make him attractive, Interesting, UNDERSTANDABLE even? Make him question his own nature, his own person, not just his role!

And he's so FUN, you know all his weird little hobbies I mean who collects old prophecy books and misprinted bibles ONLY this weirdo!! And he's so obsessed with silly little magic tricks that aren't even magic at all when he could very easily do real magic instead but noooo, making people think you're doing real magic when your Not Actually doing real magic is so much more fun apparently idk??? And he collects licenses (shooting guns, driving cars, literally who knows what else, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if my guy knew how to scuba dive and fly a plane), and he learned French the hard way just because?? He likes learning I guess?? And he's so bad at it, it's so silly it's Infuriating but it's also so endearing he's taking such JOY in it!!

And maybe you'd THINK that's all he is, sweet little goofball, but no!!!! Beneath all that soft exterior, this very intentionally soft and fun and kind exterior that he's carefully cultivated for millennia, he's also so incredibly brave. I think about how he was ready to face the thing he feared the most, to save three innocent kids. He was so ready to give up everything he had, fall from grace and spend eternity in hell, just so these kids could live. Just so that family would be spared the grief. Just so they could have a few more short years of human happiness. He lied to his boss for justice and he lied to GOD for justice and he somehow got away with it who does that??? AZIRAPHALE IS WHO. And he Never backs down did you see him pick up his little sword at almost-Armageddon when Lucifer himself rose from hell to end it all and my angel was ready to fight Satan Himself if he had to HELLO???

And then he blew up his halo and casually declared war on hell to save two humans and his former boss and his bookshop what a fucking badass!!?!?

And have I mentioned how pretty he is yes I have but it's worth mentioning again because have you seen his eyes?? Color of the fucking sky, they are, and his nose is so perfectly shaped and his stupid lips with his stupid cupid's bow, and his hair!! Is just so Damn soft it's and I just want to watch him be himself and do his thing but I also want to HOLD him and protect him and keep him safe from everything because if anything ever happened to him I-... UGH.

I don't KNOW.
