#galarian slowpoke #picture this. this was the first pokémon revealed from the new DLCs for pokémon sword and shield. the pokémon company #up until this point‚ has never done DLC for a pokémon game before. you‚ having been jaded by shitty DLCs for other games in the past #now have a distaste for the phrase‚ and imagine this can't be good. then‚ in their teaser for the new DLC‚ they add a little event #into the game where they reveal one of the new pokémon that is going to be added in the DLC #and it is a galarian form. that is identical to the original pokémon. but with a yellow head #are you imagining it. now how fucking disappointed are you. how little faith do you have in that DLC that it's going to be as good as it wa #for the most part‚ the pokémon company has demonstrated that they do absolutely excellent DLCs. proper expansions #basically an entire other game on top of the game you already have. and they typically take up the release cycle of a full game #scarlet/violet's especially. WONDERFUL dlc. i never really properly finished the crown tundra just because i was so late to the party #because i avoided buying the dlc for so long because of this experience that i've just described to you #that by the time i bought it and played it‚ it was just because SV had been announced and i wanted more pokémon to tide me over #and i never finished it. one of these days‚ i'd like to go back and finish it‚ but i'm playing through pokémon xd gale of darkness right no #and i prefer to play. one game at a time. and i don't know when i'll ever really get back to it #or if i'll ever get back to it! 'cause without resetting my save file all the way i'll just have to Remember what it is that already happen #which i'm. notoriously bad at when it comes to coming back to games that i haven't played in a while #plus i know sv is like shitty performance or whatever but the movement in that game is so much better #it feels so much more freeing than going back to gen 8 where you can still just. run. and that's it #i know nobody likes scarlet/violet but i still. like it. performance aside. like yes the performance is terrible but i still had a great #time with it. i just praised its DLC for fuck's sake! its DLC was fuckin wonderful! it has kieran in it so it like can't be bad

Honestly Ben 10 is probably one of the most based science fiction series out there by sheer virtue of it having the balls to showcase any alien concept it wanted to no matter how ridiculous, and whenever someone is like “there’s no way in Hell that could ever be scientifically feasible”, it dared to look them in the eyes and go “Yeah, well, this is a world where magic and superpowered mutants also exist. What are you gonna do? Cry about it? You grown ass adult who’s expecting scientific feasibility out of a cartoon meant to sell toys to preteen boys that has lore so inconsistent it’s almost impossible to tell what’s canon and what’s non-canon? LMAO loser.”

I mean OS had it all- obviously aliens but not only that, at minimum 10 of them; mutants in daily life across at least America, no doubt in other places too; magic, albeit one without a system beyond ‘there’s a spellbook and some charms’. The shift to purely alien in AF makes the wonderful nonsense sci-fi stuff into frustrating logic trees of ‘how does xenobiology get this powerful’ which I had definitely fallen into. Ben 10 is unabashedly science fantasy, so why not go the full fantasy and bring back mutants and magic, haha!

Admittedly a good implementation of magic in a series tends to follow a magic system, which I’m not especially great at coming up with, especially in comparison to speculative biology which come with pre-established rules. But hey, I don’t exactly expect it to be fleshed out, at least not as well as the alien aspect of Ben 10; even then, there’s only so much fleshed out, it’s to tease us into making lore for it lmao-

To be fair though, Ben 10 itself had to whack itself on the cheek in order to be reminded of its magic and especially mutant parts, which unfortunately in the latter case was central to major retcons so…

I finally saw the mean girls musical (the movie one) I have so many fucking thoughts oh my god

#thoughts #oni talks #mean girls 2024 #I think I may be the only person to kind of like it? like don’t get me wrong it is kinda ROUGH but it has so much potential and there’s bits #and pieces that I actually really enjoy or wish they had more of or just aahh #I’ve been nonstop thinking about the ideal version in my head like there’s so much potential obviously I’m biased by like a lot #since for one I know I tend to like stuff other people hate or don’t like but for two this sequel was weirdly way more relatable so maybe #I’m just projecting from my own personal experiences but Idc the POTENTIAL THERES SO MUCH ID WANNA DO INSTEAD #like there’s so many little details and characterizations that I wish was expanded on or fleshed out and it’s just like it feels like either #half baked or that it’s gone through too many edits it’s like it’s scared to exist?? like there’s some differences I love and wish they lol #leaned into but it’s like it was terrified to be too different? or like they were rushing the end especially #like in my ideal form it’s a tv show coz I think they honestly have enough that could be genuinely expanded in a way more interesting way #via that format probably not like a super extended series like you COULD but you’d definitely need more expansion but I could see the potent #but like idk one SOLID musical season with expanded character story and not like one of those rush cram shows like a good solid one #like Regina’s characterization is so fascinating but also feels like slightly off and like they could’ve leaned way more into things?#like I think keeping Regina as a closeted lesbian gives the greatest potential and interest for an expanded story #like I loved maybe the first half of the movie the most like that one song she sang to manipulate Aaron would work so much more perfectly if #she’s singing it about/to Cady? I also think in my ideal brain an cool flashback episode for Janis and Regina would be so cool coz there’s #so much you could flesh out in a flashback than you could in a retelling which while I do like the retelling since it lets you imagine thing #I just! potential! I also want more of them interacting and I do think changing Janis to be a lesbian works if they leaned more into it?#I also think in my ideal form janis would have more comeuppance or acknowledgement of her shit? I also think an arc of Regina coming out #like one thing they missed from the original is Regina playing soccer at the end & I think they could hint more towards that and maybe lean #more into her at home life in an expanded story way coz her mom is clearly like… yikes. granted maybe some of my views on the movie are too #biased by personal experience but like the way she snaps at her mom usually in my experience isn’t out of nowhere? like parents behind #closed doors. or frustrations with what her mom has clearly been putting on her the way she tells her mom not to talk about her body is very #like idk a lot of the characters in this version feel more real to me bc they act really similar to people I know irl so the expanded story #could be cool. another one that in my ideal brain would have more is Gretchen and especially her relationships with Regina as well as with #that one guy and her parents I wanna see more of how that works and her arc to feel more meaningful when she dumps him & mentions family #also as much as I didn’t care much for the straight plot stuff there’s 100% missed potential there that I could see in the differences like #iirc in the original it’s regular algebra not AP calc which I think could’ve been used as an interesting characterization opportunity for

I feel like people tend to idealize people staying together after one of them comes out as trans, but it’s also totally fine for people to break up, you know? It doesn’t mean they don’t love each other or that the other partner is transphobic. Sometimes it’s really just for the best.

I don’t think ‘staying together’ should even be treated as like, the obvious goal if someone comes out. Sometimes the trans person in question wants to just start over, regardless of whether or not their partner would potentially be down for their transition. It’s not inherently bad that a romantic relationship should end when someone’s going through a major change. That’s normal even.

For the people who do stay together and are happier for it that’s great! But people talk that scenario up a lot, like it’s the right thing to do, like oh if you were a good person your partner coming out would never lead to a breakup… But life doesn’t really work like that?? Relationships and attraction are complicated. “Gender is fluid” and “sexuality is fluid” aren’t meant to set fluidity as the one and only standard. Those statements aren’t relatable for a lot of people. And also, sometimes being ‘fluid’ means being willing to let things end. To allow change to take you from one place to another, without holding on to what you had previously.

the sims 4 has so many systems because theres so many fucking expansion packs and NONE of them mesh well or interlock in ways that are satisfying or deep. Half the time they straight up contradict each other, the other time they end up completely redundant. Modders do their best but they can't fix whats broken underneath. ARGH

#i want to analyze this because the sims 2 had so many systems that interlocked in satisfying ways #why is the sims 4 failing to do that?#Managing multiple systems is the name of the game #so when these expansion packs stack new ones on top of each other and they're this poorly thought out #like what sims 2 needs is more tightly written code and better customization stuff #(better fat meshes more hair colors etc)#Sims 4 needs a total UI redesign and gameplay overhaul #its just so restrictive when it comes to gameplay #ahhhhhhh i hate this game #it would be so good if it was good

you guys dont understand how much splatoon means to me. you will never understand

#will ALWAYS preach it has some of the best worldbuilding in anything i've ever fucking seen #especially in a video game. and ESPECIALLY a video game which isnt purely story-focused #splatoon's world feels so PAINFULLY fucking real its hard to even describe. the level of detail when it comes to LITERALLY everything #is insane. and thats only amplified when you're someone who's been playing it for a long time and has seen this world change in real time #i will always adore how time passes the same in splatoon's world as it does in real life. however long it's been since the last game came #out - thats how long its been in splatoon's world! characters are constantly changing and doing new things and taking on new roles #AND of course. the final splatfests making it so player input has a direct and pivotal effect on the setting and plot of the next game.#SO fucking cool and insane. like what other piece of media is like that #because of things like that and the worldbuilding and everything i also think that splatoon has one of the most seamless transitions #between singleplayer and multiplayer modes. a lot of times in games esp with stories those modes feel very disconnected #but in splatoon things that you do in singleplayer modes have an actual EFFECT on the world of multiplayer #i will never forget. how cool it felt when octo expansion came out and suddenly octolings started popping up in multiplayer #because in the irl sense. of course they were! people were beating that singleplayer mode and unlocking the ability to play as octolings #in multiplayer. but in-universe THIS IS ACTUALLY WHATS HAPPENING!!!! after your agent 8 escapes more octolings follow in their footsteps #and it is an actual noticeable cultural shift in the world of splatoon with it being talked about on the news and stuff #and this story of octolings coming to the surface and integrating into inkling society works perfectly because its not just something #you're hearing about. you are actually seeing IN REAL TIME octolings start to populate the city and matches because REAL PLAYERS are #playing as them. fitting perfectly into that narrative being created. its soooooo fucking good #anyways sorry i just love splatoon so much and i love talking about why its incredible #serena.txt

AU where grimdark!rose is revived by the horrorterrors while dream!rose is going on her suicide mission and now there is two of them. And also there is one full friendgroup on the battleship.

They just replace all the missing organs and blood with void.

They can't seal the skin though, which is fine because people remaining alive with a hole through their abdomen is kinda a motif in homestuck.

This void happens to be a superposition of the Furthest Ring, just like the kings's scepters are Skaia.

Grimrose is unconscious for all of Jade's part of Cascade, and then sometime after she wakes, circumstantially simultaneously with dream!rose going god tier

One of her eyes gets replaced with the Green Sun.

(because it would be cool, fuck you)

Featuring:

Everybody learning sign language because Grimrose still can't speak normally.

(this is because she doesn't actually have vocal chords. Its all void in there. She screamed them out when she first went grimdark.)

Davesprite having friends.

Everybody assuming other Dave is dead, and not knowing there's another Rose, so they're very surprised when they get to the alpha session.

I can't think of anything else because it has been forever since I read act 6 last. Maybe I'll extend this once I get there.

(did John and Jade know Rose and Dave were going on a suicide mission? I do not remember.)

#txt #ch: natine sunstalker #like ok i know no one knows the expansive dramatic natine x lor'themar lore i have in my head #but essentially they were together for years but separated when natine refused to break her loyalty to sylvanas back in bfa #and after sylvanas went all Evil Lady natine fled the horde in shame - for having essentially betrayed her people #and also found out she was pregnant with lor'themar's child during this time which was! a lot!#and so natine essentially fled to the broken isles where she was still revered as a highlord and had a whole temple of loyal priestesses #and she had faylin and hid the fact that lor'themar had a daughter from him for Years which was honestly kind of terrible of her #the fact that she was in the broken isles and spent some time slipping into dalaran meant her and khadgar kept in close contact #so him being the one to bring news about the threat in dragonflight gives me the Perfect opportunity to drag natine back into things #she travels with khadgar to ogrimmar after he convinces her that they need her help #fayin would be like 5 ish so she's probably not with natine #which is in hindsight a good thing because natine comes face to face with lor'themar for the first time in years #and he still loves her so much but also hates her for turning her back on their people and him #they were married! they were happy! she was the regent lady of silvermoon!#and even with the years and trauma and hatred they both just stand there staring at each other for a moment #before khadgar awkwardly interjects and natine snaps herself out of it and turns her back on lor'themar (again)#idk if he even knows that faylin exists at this point #rommath for sure knows she does but i like to think he and natine met a few times and he promised to keep her secret #for faylin's safety as much as natine's sanity #khadgar of course knows but he manages to keep his mouth shut about it #i haven't thought about them in so long but the drama and pain of it all is just so so so good #natine x lor'themar #for posterity even though they're essentially divorced at this point ahjsfgadhsf #oh also i'm just ignoring the lor'themar and thalyssra content sorry #pregnancy tw #idk its very briefly mentioned
