I can definitely see B.Saja to be the jealous type, however! He hasn't reached the level of romantic intimacy between the both of you.

So in a scenario where he looks over your shoulder to see you worked up on the game, he'd only tease you, asking what's so great about it. He wouldn't pretend to care about the lore you're suddenly dropping on him and immediately let's you know of his boredom, spitting a quick "Forget I asked."

He does like interrupting you sometimes though, kissing in between your thighs as you try to clear a level in the deepspace trial. He'd ket you ramble on about the characters, his attention not fully there but he picks up most of the things you're saying. Knowing your fav's name and what he looks like. One of his guilty pleasures in this world is when you let him play on the game's claw machine and kitty cards. He FUCKING hates the fact that Caleb keeps beating him in kitty cards, he makes it his mission to win 3 times in a row in hard mode. He's also obsessed with the kitty badges, he got real life merch of the pins and has the peppermint kitty badge on one of his bags. Honestly, you're slowly getting him into the game's side quests. You're basically sharing your game account.

And honestly you wouldn't even have to pray for your faves to come home to you. You work for literal idols, the amount of pay their giving you can last you at least 7000 pulls and higher. Your favs come home to you everytime.

As for the other's finding out about you and Daewon doing it, yes, they do know. There has not been a time where Daewon has not pulled you into his room, a corner or somewhere secluded for a stress relieving make out session that may or may not lead to something more. What definitely gave it away were the hickies.

Mystery would just walk in on you both in the kitchen making out, he'd go grab something in the fridge and not say anything loll. You're not romantically involved with him enough for him to care and I think he's not really the type to ask a lot of questions about it.

Jinu already knew before you two even started fucking. Hell, you were undressing each other with your eyes and he saw right through that. He doesn't care, his focus remains on his objective and promise for Gwi-Ma.

There are so many…Teru is a big one, most fans fail to see that everything he does is self-sacrificial and he is far from pure evil. No, Akane is not a sexual assaulter/harasser, and he has a personality outside of Aoi. No, Nene is not flawless nor a pick-me but she’s not intentionally awful either. Hanako is meant to be sympathetic, he’s not just a killer or a “yandere.” Aoi is more than her ships, that goes for both Aoinene and Terukaneaoi. Hakubo is NOT a groomer and yes he has emotions. Mitsuba is one of the kindest, most empathetic characters in the series. Kou is increasingly becoming more selfish and has quite a few faults. Sumire is her own character beyond all the characters people compare her to. Tsukasa has many selfless qualities and is not just an abusive murderer. Sakura is more emotional than people give them credit for. Natsuhiko is not purely silly but he’s not totally heartless either. Mei and Shijima are not the exact same, and they both have personality traits outside of yuri shipping. I could go on forever tbh

Hmmmmm…I think I’m gonna bring up the Kou mischaracterization again, so many fans will die on the hill that he’s never done anything wrong in his life and I hate it. He canonically wants Mitsuba to depend on him to the point of being useless, and we’ve also seen him hold Mitsuba down and attempt to force-feed him. I’ll also say I don’t like the way the fandom handles the Sousuke vs. Mitsuba thing, they either view them as entirely the same or entirely separate when neither are true. They share a soul, but are different people

I know I should say the twincest bait but I have a personal hatred for the scene where Hanako possesses Nene. Obviously the twincest thing is bad too but at least that has some plausible deniability yk. And they kinda stopped doing it at some point. Whereas Hanako SAing Aoi and Nene at the same time is an undeniable thing that happened on screen and was never addressed again. The fact that Kou didn’t help bcuz he found it hot also made me cringe. Idk I just wish the scene hadn’t been included, it was very odd. A total of 29 for all fandoms combined…I don’t have many squicks but the ones I do have are intense. It’s pretty much all just ships I don’t want to see. I have some ship tags that I unfiltered because I ended up liking them (TsuMitsu, Tsunene). But my current count is 29

FUCKING HAKUBO I love him to death. Tsukasa too but the Hakubo hate makes me extra irritated because it’s very obviously racially motivated that fans are unwilling to see him as an actual character and instead just shove villainized traits onto him in order to justify their hate. It’s as though nobody read his arc, or more like people did in fact read it but nobody even attempted to understand it because they subconsciously didn’t want to care about a black character. While he isn’t the only character to be called abusive, it has very different undertones with him due to the stereotype about black men being violent. Yes he does act violently in certain scenes but fans overlook why he does that, and the fact that he has very strict morals with him refusing to kill children.

There are many things to like about Hakubo, he’s one of the most well-written characters in the manga. First of all, his character design is very badass; I’m not into dudes but imo he should be the designated Adult Male Character To Simp For instead of Tsuchigomori (Teacher Amane is also valid). He’s got a sense of humor that fans don’t seem to pick up on, it’s cute to me how often he teases Sumire. His entire arc is marked with tragedy, the kinda angst fans usually eat up. He spent his entire life thinking he didn’t have feelings, and he didn’t realize he did until he was forced to kill the person who made him feel the strongest. I mean c’mon!! That is top tier angst. Arguably the saddest part of the manga. And the scene where he kills Sumire’s village to avenge her???? Easily one of my favorite scenes, it was so metal. He’s also got blorbo potential because despite being a literal god of death, he is ultimately Just Some Guy. Half the time just kinda stares at people. And also the dehumanization he went through at the hands of the Minamoto clan is my prime reason for hating them (aside from the main siblings and their mom). His story is so upsetting like this man has never had an easy life. And I just want to hug him. Guys please stan Hakubo he deserves all the love in the world

So many fans dumb down his character due to him being “silly.” And don’t get me wrong, that is absolutely a side of his personality. He is very goofy and likes to tease people and canonically has an atrocious fashion sense. But some fans reduce him to those more comedic traits and ignore his flaws and trauma, and subsequently every other side of his personality. He is sadistic and charming and highly intelligent despite not being educated on domestic tasks. He may not be able to survive in like a regular house on his own but if the gang got stranded on an island together, he would be their leader. Multiple things can be true at once yk

that one thing you see in fics all the time

So not to come for my own gang but I’m a little burnt out on one-sided Aoinene, especially when Nene is fawning over some man instead. I know it’s more accurate to canon but since when do gay shippers care about canon??? We’re supposed to be the creative ones. I still enjoy those fics because people work hard on them but unrequited love is like my least favorite trope ever. Besides, we see one-sided Aoinene all the time. At this point, the trope is overdone. Let’s start focusing more on Nene’s side of things, I want to see her get flustered over her girlfriend. I also think it’s funny that Nene gets written as straight so often considering the fact that she canonically blushed at Sakura and called her a babe. Not to mention the queer undertones of her friendships with Mei and Aoi. She is more likely to be queer than Aoi so I find it weird that so many Aoinene shippers ignore that potential side of her character. Let Nene be the simp for once

I’ve read a couple reallyyyyyy good fucky Aoinene fics that utilize Aoi’s temporary canon death, usually involving her haunting Nene or Nene hallucinating her, and I would love to see more of that with them. And also the discourse surrounding Mitsuba’s sexuality and the canon status of Mitsukou, which shouldn’t even exist. Mitsuba is gay, Mitsukou is canon. End it discussion

Somehow, he had seen his brother again.

Damian had grown, just like him, not just in height but as a person.

He was now an established vigilante, a champion of justice in his own right, an ally of the Justice League, fighting evil and protecting the weak.

He was a completely different person from the little boy that had ran him through with a sword at the behest of their grandfather, with a disgusted glare as he stared down at his dying twin.

He was good now.

But in truth, he was the boy that had killed Danny, the brother that he had wrongly trusted, and thought could be on his side.

Danny sighed, dropping his phone in his lap and wondering not for the first time at how they had ended up being so different, already back in the League, how had Damian not been able to see how wrong things were, when they had been raised together, and Danny had realized it early enough? Realize that the soldiers were people, and not just props or tools to be discarded –to be killed – on a whim.

Well, Damian seemed to have realized it by now, been taught better, like all he needed was for someone to talk sense into him.

Why hadn’t Danny’s pleas been enough?

And there was also… their… extended family. Their father, the Batman, and all the people he had brought with him.

Most of them had been… tentative, he would say, in the short time they had interacted. They saw that it was a tense situation and had handled themselves with care, hadn’t pushed Danny, but still showed they would welcome him if he decided to approach. That was nice of them.

Danny had thought, over and over as he smuggled himself from country to country with mother’s help until they had to cut contact least they be discovered by the League, about seeking his father, the mighty warrior that even his grandfather respected, someone who could protect him from the League.

Then he had found out about Robin, and decided against leaving one child-soldiering life for another.

Then he had met the Fentons, and he didn’t regret it one bit.

(He understood now, though, that the vigilante life didn’t respect ages, and sometimes you just had to step up, because you could, and no one else.)

And now he had the chance to have it all if he wanted. But if he did, it’d have to be everything, he couldn’t be cherry-picking what he wanted and what not, it was all or nothing.

“Nothing it is.” He deleted the number from his phone and the memory of it from his mind, and the slip of paper it had been scribbled on was burnt in green fire along with the communicator Batman had handed him (hesitant, hopeful, beneath his calm façade), and ended up in his trash bin once it stopped radiating heat.

Even if he wanted to have that part of his family, he didn’t want anything with Damian, and he wouldn’t make them choose between the two of them. The Bats were Damian’s and the Fentons Danyal’s, and that was it.

And maybe, just maybe, he would be broken all over again if they all chose his killer over him.

There is a post on tumblr that uses "Get in the Water" from EPIC: The Musical (my current fixation), where Danyal gives Damian a good scare for having killed him and things spiral from there for the bats. I love it very much.

I don't actually hate Damian or anything (i don't really care for his character, but the bats are a package deal), but as an abused sibling i've always hated with a passion the whole "forgive your abusive sibling uwu, they did't know any better u.u" fuck that noise. Even if they change and grow to be a better person, you don't have to forgive your abusers or be part of their lives so that they feel better. Fuck that very much.

i'm a bit of a hypocrite tho, since my fave is Jason and i forgive him the Titan's Tower incident (but if what i've read about Tim talking shit about Jay after he became Robin is true, then I won't even excuse him. shoulda hit 'im harder. i'll have to check that). alas i also don't care for Tim so i don't really read as much on his relationship with Jason. it's complicated but I wrote what i wanted.

the best way i could explain her is that she that one older sister/cousin that kind and pretty wise but has a bit of a temper if you keep pushing her buttons.

She does have lights in her (I have't made her that depressing... not yet at less lol) but if you want to make that light seems brighter you just have to ask about her interest's,whether it be photography,art or her fave school subject.

Yuukio relationships with her parents is really great.Her story before twst is that her family own a pretty well know family train station and she was supposed to have it ones she older.Despite the pressure from her other family members Yuukio parent never let her give in to it until their death from a car crash.

Yuukio does have a lil brother name Yuko(who also died from the crash),her favourite person in the whole world and probably her BIGGEST weakness considering anything remind her of him,her usually semi she have her dumb moments calculated mind just goes out the window.

Yuukio alwasy been to focus on the present to have any regrets,BUT if she would have stayed in twst wonderland or just stuck there forever she would regret not getting to say goodbye to her family who probably just think she's died after sometime.

oh you want to piss her. easy. talk shit about her famiy/friends (especialy the first years,girly has favourite) and you would be lucky to be PHYSICALLY attack instead of her verbal assault (for example Riddle is lucky to be punch by Ace in stead of Yuukio insult about how much of a lil shit's he's been)

To calm her down you either need to physically hold her back , have to be in the list of people she cared for or have enough authority her other weakness : always listened to authority (like a teacher or an respecting adult) to make her stop.

It's pretty hard to see her needing comfort in the first place (she has a severe case of helping everyone but herself) but some word's of encouragement is the best way.

hello miss bottles. I got the chance to go surfing for the first time recently and that day I was reminded, yet again, of the absolute vice grip that Love Bites has on the entirety of my psyche. That being said, do you have any headcanons of our gaggle of Beach Babes that weren’t included or not super explored in the fic? I keep consuming and reconsuming this story so honestly any little notes you have to share will be like feeding a black hole. In all seriousness Love Bites makes me so happy inside for a long list of reasons that I won’t include in this already long ask, and it’s absolutely one of my all time faves

1. That's so cool what the fuck? How was it?? 2. I cannot express how happy it makes me to know that fic has stuck with you, I've been feeling so weird about my writing lately so truly it means the world to hear this THANK YOU😭 3. HAH do I ever have headcanons. Here's a few to chew on:

-This was mentioned in passing at the start of the fic, but Asami has something of a photographic/eidetic memory, and unfortunately as she got older it stopped being endearing and started registering at various points on the "annoying" to "unnerving" spectrum for a number of reasons (her father repeatedly using it as a party trick chief among them). So she keeps it lowkey for the most part, and it's a total coincidence that the Krew started winning every bar trivia tournament after she met them🤫

-Korra started an Extreme Seaball (Love Bites version of water polo. don't laugh.) League while studying sports therapy at Republic City University, and by extreme I mean the only rule was that there were no rules. The league continued on after she graduated, and even years later being tossed up out of the water and through the air like the seaball is still called "getting Korra'd."

-One evening a week during the summer, after her lifeguard shift, Korra teaches a swimming class for kids aged 6-8. They're called Little Unagis and they are coming for your ankles.

-Mako has scars all the way up one arm like he does in canon, but in Love Bites they're from a house fire that claimed the lives of his and Bolin's parents. Sorry. I hate to say this.

-A year after the end of the fic, a film student from the university makes an extremely corny yet earnest horror mover at Yue Beach, and Ginger and Wu star as Background Character 6 and Background Character 7 respectively. Ginger gets noticed by a talent scout, and within the year she leaves the cafe to pursue acting full-time. Fast forward a decade and she's the city's most beloved scream queen😌 Her fame eclipses even that of the legendary Jian Xi, and he takes it exactly as well as you'd expect (badly). He hatewatches all her movers alone and scowling in the dark and yes he is shirtless and oily about it. Even at home in his own living room. That's just his baseline state of existence.

-Ginger's position at the cafe is filled by Opal, and her kneejerk reaction of disgust when she first encounters The Towel is all the encouragement Bolin needs to finally toss it. By the next day, dumpster-diving seagulls have picked it apart and used some of the bits to build a nest.

-Beifong is married to Kya, who's a doctor in RC and enjoys painting as a way to decompress. Lin is her favorite subject and there's definitely at least one nude portrait but you didn't hear that from me.

-This didn't make it into the final version of the fic, and I'll forever be annoyed that I didn't give myself enough time to wrangle all the different threads together and ended up scrapping it, but: originally Varrick's business was meant to be a direct competitor of Hiroshi's, Yasuko's death was supposed to be the result of badly botched industrial espionage, and the cops were supposed to drop her murder case because Varrick paid them off. I still feel like this would've made Varrick buying the Future Industries tower out from under Asami hit so much harder, but I ran out of time to really flesh out the idea the way I wanted. Coping with it😐

Pre-Timeskip Straw Hats Ranking:

1. Chopper - My baby. He’s like a little Ghibli character! I loved his design and he has such a good heart 🥹

2. Zoro - He’s so cool! I love how loyal he is and he always has the best fight scenes.

3. Luffy - Didn’t expect to like him this much, but here we are! God, he’s just such an interesting character. I really like characters with a strong moral compass/sense of their own justice, and Luffy fits that so well. Out of all the captains, I’d want him to be mine.

4. Sanji - He’s a little cringe (I am a woman), but he’s got really good scenes mixed in there! (Like that scene with Enel? Legendary).

5. Franky - TBH, he didn’t grow on me until Enies Lobby. But Franky is a homie! He’s SUPER!

6. Robin - Another character that took a bit to grow on me. I love how she just takes things in stride, it’s really funny. Her and Franky are my fave duo, so I love when they get scenes together!

7. Brook - I LOVE SKELETONS! I love his puns and his backstory made me cry. Minus points for the underwear thing, though

8. Nami - I like Nami! I wish she got a bit more control of the situations she gets thrown into (especially Thriller Bark, I felt so bad for her).

9. Usopp - I don’t hate Usopp, don’t get me wrong! He’s just kind of annoying. He’s the sniper of the crew, so it’s irritating that he rarely does any sniping. He also complains/is cowardly A LOT. I get that’s his character, but…

Time skip Ranking (I’m in Zou right now. Light spoilers for up until then?):

1. Luffy - My Number 3 pick overall! I love him so much, I can’t even. He’s really stepped it up! Something I really like about him is the slight changes in his personality after MarineFord. You can tell it effected him more than he lets on and I love that Oda is subtle about it. 10/10 protagonist!

2. Franky - SUPER!!! I just love him, he’s so fun! I may be a bit influenced because he’s my brother’s fave (we’re watching it together). Like Luffy, I love how positive and kind Franky is. I also love his power ups!! He’s so cool!!

3. Zoro - Still cool, haha. My opinion of him hasn’t changed much since before timeskip - he’s a really consistent, interesting character! I also love how he’s eager to fight, in a weird way. Nothing scares this man, it’s cool to see!

4. Usopp - Biggest jump on this list! But damn, I love Usopp now. He’s mellowed out a bit and takes a bit more of an active role on the crew! (Spoiler) He has Haki!!! I didn’t see that coming, but it’s by far the coolest Usopp moment yet!

5. Robin - As the sole introvert on a crew of extroverts, I love the dynamic she brings! Like I mentioned before, her “go with the flow” attitude is really unique and fun to see! I do wish they’d let her fight more, even though she has more of a supporting role.

6. Nami - Ever since Punk Hazard, I’ve come to realize the Nami is the heart of the crew. You can see how much she cares for everyone and wants the best for the people around her!

(I may start to sound mean from here on out, but I promise I like all the Straw Hats)

7. Sanji - SANJI STOP BEING CRINGE I SWEAR TO GOD. I know the Whole Cake is coming up soon, so I’m holding out for some major character development there. I just don’t like that women have taken over most of his screen time and that he holds resentment against Okamas. Like, not cool bro.

8. Chopper - He’s kind of been reduced to a mascot character. They never give him anything to do anymore (granted, he wasn’t in Dressrosa much so maybe I’ll be proved wrong). I don’t hate his new design, I just liked the other one better. And apparently he’s supposed to be 17??

9. Brook - Brook, for me, has filled the role Usopp had before timeskip. He’s always loud and being cowardly, it gets to be a little grating. He still has good moments, don’t get me wrong, but I wish he was a bit more like he was in Thriller Bark.

Bonus! Jinbe - Dad energy 👍 He was a real homie for Luffy on MarineFord, and I’m excited to see the dynamic he brings when he joins the crew!

When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played?

I started playing mid 2017, I think. I played the flagship books (TF, TCaTF, MW), and def preferred TF at the time.

When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined the Tumblr fandom in 2017, around the time of the TRR finale. Mostly because the Liam hate at the time was intense and I wanted to write metas about why Liam was, in fact, not “a dick who betrayed the MC” 😂

I did have a Tumblr account before that (made it in 2015 to follow Bollywood film posts), but never actually used it.

How did you pick your blog name?

I was lazy af so it was my middle name plus my birth year haha

Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it! 

I started out with a couple reblogs, but my first actual post was about the romance points mechanism in TRR1. There was a point in the middle of the book where one nice word to Drake would give you an automatic romance point, and I was like, “Huh??? Either treat him like shit or risk him catching feels for me? Is that how it is???”. Thankfully, that stopped after two chapters. After that, I did an essay series analyzing Liam’s actions in the finale called “The Crown, The King and The Flame.” Romance Points Post The Crown and the Flame

How long have you been writing fanfiction?

Almost 6 years now! I started doing Liam fics around the beginning of TRR2.

What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to write about?

I’m the most invested in TRR and PM, but between the two I’d probably say PM is my fave book overall. But yeah, my favourite book to write about would be TRR, because Liam, Hana and Kiara are such fantastic characters to write about! (Hayden and Sloane, too, but I’m still in the process of getting comfortable writing them).

Share the first fanfic you wrote with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were writing it today?

It was Keychains, my two part fic series featuring my MC and Liam. It was set around the time the MC was waiting in the airport in TRR2, just before Maxwell and Bertrand intervene. It had a follow up with Liam’s PoV too.

I really like it. It included some really good hc’s I made at the time, like Esther buying an apple keychain to represent Cordonia at the same time, and Liam calling her his wife in Greek and Esther not realizing what the phrase meant. I thought the pathos and slight humour was quite well-done. I can’t think of much I would want to change in the story.

What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

As a series – Eleanor’s Kitchen! It’s ongoing, and it’s a joy to write. I love exploring food from a cultural lens, and since Cordonia was a fictional country, I could explore a variety of ethnicities and food cultures. Liam had a literal diamond scene that explored gastrodiplomacy, and I wanted to explore his childhood and Eleanor’s friendships too.

Individually – I would say my Kiara fic “An Ear to the Ground”. Kiara is a delightful character and exploring the social season through her eyes was a real journey! I also love “The Stars (Are Out Tonight)” which explores the early days of the Sloane & Hayden friendship. I used asterisms and constellations to symbolize moments in their friendship.

Do you have a fic that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to be but found could use a little more love?

Cordonian Waltz was definitely a surprise in terms of reception!! It was written in the style of headcanons I was seeing at the time, and I wrote it in second person. It became my most widely-read fanfic very fast, and every once in a while it would experience a major surge in readership. I enjoyed writing it and thought it was a lovely, romantic piece, but I really wasn’t expecting it to finally have 250+ reblogs out of it, and people coming and telling me this was the fic that got them into Liam x MC in the first place. I find that deeply gratifying 😍

There’s a lot of fics that I feel need more engagement and appreciation, but I can understand that those characters also don’t exactly get much of an audience. My entire PM set comes under this category; they typically get low readership. I think my Hana and Kiara fics too could do with more of an audience.

@twinkleallnight once told me that when she reads my stuff, she usually takes a long time just to ruminate on the story, and I like to believe that often, that’s why the engagement isn’t always immediate. Which I like too!! I like that some of my stuff can make people stop and think, and I like to believe that over time, the work will have its own impact.

If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?

Probably fluff but with a lot of observation and sometimes somber reflections. I’m not that great with angst…and I’ve never actually tried smut? But maybe one day 😄

Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

Yes! Some of my MCs are v different from me but I always incorporate something from my life experiences in them. Like Esther taking photos of the sunset or Basil not being science oriented but still having an interest in space.

Character wise I find I put a lot of myself into a lot of the characters I write. Notably, Liam, Hana, Kiara, certain Haydens and Sloane. Liam’s love for learning, different aspects of Hana and Kiara’s experiences as queer women, Sloane’s experiences as a neurodivergent woman, and especially my Scholar!Hayden’s (Iris) observations. I tend to incorporate a lot of my feelings and experiences more into certain canonical characters than in MCs.

What element of writing do you struggle with most?

Dialogue, I think. Especially when it’s a character I don’t relate to that much. But also sometimes when it’s a character I love but am only starting to write because then I really overthink it!

Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

Hmm…probably neglected wouldn’t be the word I’d use…I just take a very long time to kickstart them 😂

But yeah, definitely my Petals and Thornes series? That’s the fic series I’m doing for Hana x Kiara, that is supposed to explore TRR2 and 3 from their PoV (with significant changes). So far I’ve only been able to do some one-shots and hcs in that universe, but I do want to start the actual series soon!

I have some essay series’ I’d love to work on too! My Hana essay series which has two essays left, The Hayden Young Project, and a possible series on the alternative Lis of TRR!

Petals and Thornes Hana Lee: A Study in Erasure

If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

Hmm. A few people have asked me, actually, and while I’m not fully opposed to showing them I’ll probably take some time before I do show my work. I’ll probably overthink how much will be understandable to a reader who doesn’t have the context of the source, and what they may not understand.

What to show them first? I’m not sure! Maybe the smaller ones first, like Cordonian Waltz. Or my RCD fic Snowstorms, because it doesn’t have more than 2-3 canon characters featuring and I do talk a little about being a closeted queer teen figuring out their sexuality through cinema, which is an overall relatable experience to some! Snowstorms

Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing?

In my early years I used to emulate Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s style. Much of her work that I read as a teen was pretty flowery, sometimes bordering on purple prose, and I really loved that style and tried to go that way. But now I think a variety of writers from different genres inform my writing. In terms of published authors, Jhumpa Lahiri, Helen Hoang, and non-fiction ones like Rukmini Pande, Ruby Hammad and Mikki Kendall.

In Choices fic, @callmetippytumbles for sure – a lot of the questions she was tackling with her MC in her Home series served as inspiration for some of the ideas I’ve been having in mind for Petals and Thornes. @thefirstcourtesan is a great writing buddy to have, too, and she has a knack for saying a lot in very few words! There’s also my amazing group of friends (shoutout to @cassiopeiacorvus, @thecapturedafrique, @mand-delemonde, and @beyonceswigs, as well as @twinkleallnight , @dcbbw @mariemarieohcontrary , @choicesfrog, @grapecaseschoices and @ohsnapitzlovehacker…the discussions are so good and leave some much to think about afterward 💖💖). All these discussions ALWAYS fuel my ideas and make me think out of the box.

I’ve also recently started writing polyamorous characters and relationships, and @angelasscribbles stories and resources have been such a great help in navigating that!

Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series?

Haha! I’ve not even started the proper series yet but I think Petals and Thornes? But besides that maybe Eleanor’s Kitchen may work as a series idk 😄

Do you write original fiction?

I do try! I’ve done a few short stories but before I started fanfic, I did a lot of spoken word poetry and that was fun.

What other hobbies do you have?

Reading, watching video essays, spending months on hyperfixations 😂 and a little cooking. My kid’s gotten into craft recently and has succeeded in taking me down that rabbit hole too haha.

I used to be into making fruit wines but have gotten inconsistent with that over the years.

A story my mum often tells about how I got into writing, began with some good old-fashioned sibling rivalry. Apparently as a child I was notorious for writing things on the walls of our house. One day my older brother got a hardbound royal-blue covered notebook to write in, with gold lettering on the cover…and I got instantly jealous that I didn’t get one (I was 6 or 7 and already fond of telling stories). When I complained my mum made me a deal – she would get me the same notebook…IF I stopped writing on the walls and began writing in that instead 😂 It worked. My mother is a smart woman.

I love spoilers!! I will read the end of a novel I’m reading and then go back and read the rest. Sometimes I even read books all the way backwards lol.

I love romance, and my favorite tropes include second-chance romance and mutual pining while believing the other person will never love you back! Because, at heart, I’m a dramatic bitch.

C - so let me preface this by saying I have nothing against this? I like both characters but. I just never saw the appeal of sastiel from spn (Sam/cas, and yes it hurt me, noted portmanteau hater, to use the portmanteau lmao). Their dynamic can be really fun and I enjoy a team-up between them, but my interest stops there. I actually have more fun when there’s animosity and they’re bitchy brothers-in-law. To be fair, I have read like two fics about them from authors I really liked, but even then I was like “…I don’t get it.” But HJ, you might be saying, it’s the brainrot. Destiel has destroyed you for other ships. And like. Nah I’m still here for Dean and Crowley. Dean and Benny. I’ll even get on board for some weird toxic Cas/Meg. Peace and love to any sastiel moots if y’all are out there, I just don’t ship them personally and I don’t think I ever will. Don’t hate the ship, just don’t really engage with it.

U - I am banning any spn characters from this answer lmao. But just know !!! They’re always lurking. I have so many faves.

Evan Buckley - (I had to include him !!!) So this can come as a surprise to absolutely no one I’m sure. 9-1-1 was sold to me with Buck because I was told he was specifically the type of character I would love AND DAMN IF THAT WASN’T THE TRUTH. He loves so much and so hard, and all he wants is to be loved in return. I relate a lot to his need to build a support system/family around him however he can, and to cling so so tight to those he loves. To give all of himself he can when someone needs him. I think his research spirals are great and I love any time we get a fun fact out of him. He’s competent and a great firefighter, but he still can bumble through social situations. He’s my guy !!!

Chidi Anagonye - So I picked Chidi because The Good Place is still one of my favorite shows of all time. And I truly love everyone, but I relate to Chidi on a deep, deep level. Anxiety bros !!! He’s so smart and yet that does almost nothing for him when it comes to decision making. In fact, it seems to actively hinder him because knowing more about things means he can imagine more hypotheticals, more things that could go wrong! He’s committed to helping Eleanor right from the first iteration of the neighborhood, and he genuinely wants to do good. He’s funny and obviously he’s used for broad humor sometimes, but like everyone in the show that never overshadows the core of who he is. All the characters feel real and full, even as they’re extremely coded to be That Kind of Guy. I love watching Chidi and Eleanor fall in love. They feel like my old friends every time I rewatch!

Karen Page - from the Daredevil TV series. So despite my previous answers I do usually love any female characters the most, so I was already predisposed to like Karen. And then—for the brief time we got it—she had girl reporter vibes, which is one of my favorite tropes of all time? I love that she had a past and her own dark secrets, I love that even though she liked for Matt she got to have real fallout and her own complicated emotions finding out he was Daredevil (and all that happened with Elektra). I like “regular” people to counterbalance superheroes, and I really loved the Karen-Matt-Foggy dynamic. Then, of course, I went absolutely all in feral in DD s2 when the Punisher showed up, but outside of her dynamic with Frank (which goddddd I love) I really like Karen and always wanted more for her from the show.

I'm not sure if this is "of the top five" or "of the 54 pieces I've posted on the AO3," but I'm going to go with the latter because the former has angst but not really in the ending. So.

Angstiest ending is Dear Alex, a Yuletide fic I wrote for @copperfirebird. A Wrinkle in Time is one of his very favorite books, and this is Kate and Alex Murray figuring out how to be a married couple again. It made me cry, writing it.

7. What has the happiest ending?

It might be New Year's Welcome, which is FFVIII Seifer/Squall/Rinoa and is about finding a home and a place when you thought you'd lost everything.

8. Have I received hate?

Nope. Possibly because I've mostly stayed in very small fandoms.

9. Do I write smut? And what kind?

Yes, I do. If I had to describe it, I would call it lyrical smut, where it's about the flow of the words and the feeling more than the specifics.

One of my top 5s is a crossover, in fact, but it's not something I do very often.

Yeah, back in the ff.net days, and it was a very weird feeling.

I can tell you who my favorite child is (I only have one) but I could not possibly pick my favorite ship. I would have a hard time picking a favorite ship in any given fandom.

I love relationships between people whose feelings are bigger than their abilities to communicate it, but who find understanding in the silences; people who are drawn together despite all the reasons that they should not be; and people who are deeply loyal to one another.

15. A WIP I'll never finish

The Future Waits Without Us was supposed to be a large multi-part story that I wrote two pieces of.

Probably Came Too Far To Die because I have one mostly-written chapter I haven't published yet and then I have no idea what I'm doing. I have never known what I was doing with this fic, but I didn't let it stop me.

16. Writing strengths?

Lyrical prose. Three-part clauses. Emotionally complex characters. Witty banter.

17. Writing weaknesses?

Plot. Too bad that's, like, an extremely important part of story building.

18. Do I like foreign language dialogue?

This is a weird question. I don't have any problems with other people writing in multiple languages. There are bilingual characters who should use multiple languages. I'm more prone to things like, "This sentence is written in the common tongue," he said in Tyrrish.

19. First fandom I wrote for?

Dragonriders of Pern when I was in 7th grade.

20. Favourite fic I've written?

It's hard to pick one, but there are two fics that I'm always breathlessly startled I was able to write. Both of them were Yuletide requests, and I know Yuletide's coming around again when I start getting kudos for these.

The first one is In Two Bodies, Alexander and Hephaestian, inspired by Mary Renault's Alexander Trilogy. If you were wondering what I meant by "lyrical smut," this one's an excellent example.

The second one is Finding Zihuatanejo, inspired by the beautiful Stephen King short story "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption." It really feels like I got the narrator's voice down perfectly.

WELL starting from the beginning, what a month

We got a bit more strega but turns out only Takaya talked to me again, I assume I won't get 1 on 1 Jin time which is sad, but I'm enjoying it anyway, we also got to see Medea but just for a split second, come back girl (Is that all we see of her? Does she show up again?)

Amazing month, I loved the Shinjiro's hang outs but I feel like there was some dialog missing from just talking to him around the dormitory? Maybe I'm wrong, or wait hang on maybe I didn't check them all?? Time to play this month again (not) I love Shinjiro 🥺

But on the other hand is really hard not to hate Ken LOL It's the same as I feel with Yukari, like I understand they're young and going thru a hard time but also they're annoying to me specifically,

(I say that as if I didn't feel the exact same way when I was 11)

I think Ken is an interesting character tho and I thought his first two linked events, the ones that happened so far, were pretty neat, him asking MC to take care of his hamster if something happened to him pulled on my heartstrings I'll admit, these children should stop being ready to die they're making me sad

Speaking of which, Mitsuru Akihiko and Shinji flashback😭 I loved Shinji's linked events, I don't remember the fact that he skipped classes being acknowledged in the original (before his eulogy I mean). The 3 of them making a promise to graduate together torn my heart to pieces god, how can they make this EVEN SADDER.

Now finally for the full moon 😔 I thought I would have a hard time cause I only pick my team based on my faves (Aigis, Akihiko and Koromaru, pretty sure I've always used this team for everything since my first playthrough of fes lmao) but turns out I'm op and poor fortune couldn't even do the unfair wheel properly, I remember I had SO MUCH trouble with them when I was playing portable, I kept having to use save states to cheat that fight. I'm pretty sure on that version the colors meant who it was gonna affect? But this time no matter what it affects everyone I feel like that makes it so much easier. Anyway it was over pretty quick

And MY GOD this was THE MOST HEART WRENCHING VERSION OF SHINJIRO'S DEATH WHAT THE FUCK, this cant be recency bias I'm gonna go watch the other versions hang on

What's the origin of your blog title? I had to sit here and think, uh, whut does this even meannnn for about 15 seconds, that's the level of thought I put into it in 2016 when I created this mess, but it was a nice kick in the ass to update it. Priests of Mars, Review

So I finished the first book in the Forges of Mars omnibus! Quick review; this is a character heavy book, there is a plot and some sub-plots but for most of the book its in the background, the first half of the book is just everyone getting organized/meeting/settling in for the field trip into the unknown.

Ah the eldari are there for...*checks notes* reasons.

It's by all means a pretty decent read, especially as an older book since the Ad Mech (in particular the Skitarii) have changed some since it was published.

But do be aware, it is a bit of a slog to get through; there's a lot of talking and a metric ton of Ad Mech fancy machine-techno descriptions that can be draining/make you want to skim through the sections.

Still, looking forward to continuing with the series. As always more rambling under the read-more to avoid spoilers unless you want em.

Buckle up because there is QUITE A CAST OF CHARACTERS.

First off: Oh my fucking god Roboute the Rogue Trader from Iax who has dealings with the Eldar. I can't even. And of course he's just the Best Soldier/Navyman around. According to him, the eldari saved from certain death in a destroyed ship because...pity I guess. And dropped him on a planet a year later. Yeah he's bit sus, especially as at the end of the book its revealed his Letter of Marque is a fake. Still, he is interesting, his reasons for going on the big field-trip into the utter unknown is that he wants out, simple as that, he wants away from it all.

Secondly and this is more a gripe than anything else but ugh...why Black Templars? Seriously? I thought the Dawn of Fire novels were a new trend but apparently not. The Iron Hands are right there and they actually LIKE the Ad Mech, they would have eagerly joined up in search for the lost expedition of a Magos past the Halo Scar. But nah, Black Templars. And they are the focus on the eldar's hate in this case. Though as characters the Black Templars are fine, pretty standard. I did laugh when they got high to pick a new Emperor's Champion. Right now they are down a Reclusiarch and there's only a handful left so they are mourning and trying out their place in the scheme of things now. I actually did feel sad during that part.

Third, there's a group poor sods that got grabbed from their shipyward jobs and thrown into Ad Mech "service" (Slavery). Those chapters are particularly brutal as its written plainly that every waking moment for them is hell, their wills to live are dying and so is the rest of them (bleeding gums, puking up bits of lung and stomach lining, burns and a whole lot died when the Ad Mech shut off the air in an area to stop a fire. Abrehem Locke is the most interesting of them, a pretty decent guy with some Ad Mech ties. Then there's Julius Hawke...I hate this guy, he says he was at Hydra Cortarus but I'm doubtful of that. He tells a tale about fighting Iron Warriors but I've read Storm of Iron and I'm just sus of him. He's a weasal that's for sure.

There are Titans! Oh god there are Titans! And they part of one of the dumbest things that happens in the book: One got a PSTD nightmare due to Nids while taking part in a play-fight (Because the Cadians wanted to be the Cadians and the Ad Mech got involved) and naturally shot another Titan and caused ship damage.

Oh yeah the Cadians are there, they are Cadians, that sums them up. They are all about Military Excellence and Being the Best, endless drilling and etc etc. One makes a dig at Elysians dropping into combat and how dare you, the Elysians are cool. (Yes they are my fave guard regiment.)

There are about seven or so Ad Mech characters (Magos or of similar rank) and probably could be a post on their own. There's some politic-ing with them that is interesting especially since the Magos in charge of the expedition has had a real shit run of luck. My fave is Galatea, but I won't share why.

The eldari aren't around much for me to get a real good judge for them since it's really only 2 characters so far but it's Biel-Tan and for once the Avatar of Khaine actually wins!

Besides sketchbooks, he also owns an expensive drawing tablet that Bruce got him for one of his birthdays. He makes good use of it, but he still prefers traditional more though since that's what he grew up with, so it's not something he stopped doing after getting an art tablet. He just loves the good feeling of getting out all his pencils, brushes, paints, and having fun expressing himself with them right there on his canvas or in his books. Another reason he perfers it more is because he can actually travel with a sketchbook too and just draw wherever he wants and especially because he also hates it whenever a digital drawing he's working on just suddenly deletes itself because of some error while he was in the middle of drawing it, which upsets him VERY much all the time. Most times when that happens, he just really needs a moment for himself to calm down, plus, process and mourn his erased piece that never got to be saved and truly finished.
