This is a kinda self insert thing but uh-

What if the jjk boys come hope one day to see their S/O taking down stickers they had on their wall. But putting up the stickers was one of the last activities they did with their family when they were younger. The boys knew this so they're super confused and stuff but their S/O is just like "Well, I figured they were really childish and if we're going to live together you probably wouldn't wanna see them everyday."

i cant really think of a way to format this into a SMAU BUT here's my thoughts on how they'd react on the matter!

Gojo would come into the room to tease you (like always) before noticing what you're doing, his grin immediately fading.

"Woah woah woah, what're you doing? Those looked so pretty why're you pulling them off?!"

When you explain why he just frowns, crosses his arms over his chest. He scoffs when you say they're 'childish', bending at the waist to lean closer to you.

"Babe, do you forget who you're gonna be living with? I love those silly stickers. Love 'em more 'cuz they're part of your story. So c'mon, let's get some tape and put them back up, hm? Oh! Better yet, let's add more!!"

...aaand that's how you end up with a wall full of various stickers, and whenever Satoru sees a sticker sheet he likes, he buys two pairs-one to put on his students' exam sheets when grading, and one to put up on the wall alongside the ones from your childhood ✨

Geto leans onto the door frame, observing you for a long moment, before asking "What're you doing?"

When you explain he just nods slowly, already scheming something behind those dark eyes of his.

"Baby, are you sure that's what you want? You know I don't mind one bit if those stickers are up there or not. If anything, I'm pretty sure the girls would love 'em."

When you insist he doesn't push it, lets you take them off the wall. The next day though when you get home, you find the wall the stickers were placed on has now been painted over with chalk paint-essentially turning the entire thing into to a black board, Nanako and Mimiko gleefully drawing flowers, bunnies, writing scribbles up on it with pink and blue chalk.

Suguru stands a few feet behind them, and though he's not writing anything right now, you can see a couple doodles clearly made by him up on the wall, his palms stained white and pink and blue. He turns to you with a grin, nodding for you to come closer.

When you do he hands you a few different colored chalks, kisses you on the cheek.

"I know those stickers held a ton of memories for you-so I figured since you took them off, we could make some new memories. Together."

Nanami comes home just as you remove the last sticker, noticing you piling the removed stickers on a nearby table. He frowns at your actions, asks you what it is you're doing. He...doesn't say much when you explain it to him, merely nods. You might've thought he didn't care-though you'd be wrong.

Later that night, you find Nanami at the living room, a file opened up on his lap, a clear film inside it where he oh-so-carefully sticks the stickers you'd taken off of the wall, delicately placing them so they resemble the constellation they were shaped like when placed onto the wall.

You lean over him to see what he's doing and he casually turns and kisses you, smiling.

"These mean a lot to you. Just because they're not placed up on display still doesn't mean they deserve to be discarded."

So that's how you end up with the so-called 'memory file', wherein you place little bobs and trinkets from your life with Nanami-ticket stubs, polaroid pictures, and of course, those stickers.

any tips on how to start dressing better?

id loveee to dress with a more artsy, feminine style (for context i study arts, so visual arts, music, dance, theatre, but also business in the arts!) and i love love love your style like its literally how id dress daily if i could. i love style inspos like that but i don’t know how to maximise outfits with a few pieces, especially girly fits. i also love certain boyish/male-dominated sports and when i watch or attend the events id like to dress girly-ish? but also dress “right”, so shorts and stuff because its SO HOT but a lot of the places i work and study at are also rich people places so i also want to fit in and be taken seriously (i say this like i dont maximise my young and sweet girl persona to get around sometimes but still) 🫤🫤 i love your style because its so feminine and romantic and sweet and classy and timeless and i dress like that at times…. not always because i don’t know how to maximise my pieces but i thought you’d know best ����😓

general tips on finding your style: (I won't say "dress better" bc that's very relative and can mean so many different things although I completely understand what u mean in your context)

start making pinterest boards

it helped me soooo much in understanding what i was drawn to and the recurring/repeating motifs that showed up in the outfits i was inspired by

you can make several diff boards for diff occasions like "outfits for class" or "outfits for parties" and each can have a diff vibe that suits your needs

when we think of personal style very broadly, we tend to be overwhelmed so browse through pinterest and look at outfits for inspo and you'll have a realistic idea of what you'd like to wear

2. understand your body and vibe/essence

this is where Kibbe and Kitchener theories help the most but i feel like most people nowadays use it to beat themselves up for being a certain Kibbe type or being delusional about the kind of essences they have etc

however, if you have a good grasp of Kibbe/Kitchener, it makes dressing up 10000x times simpler,, my personal style has improved SOOO much since i discovered Kibbe & Kitchener in 2021-2022,,,

3. build a "uniform" for yourself

if u look at my style moodboards, u can see how most of the outfits are kinda similar ish?? they're either slip dresses, sundresses, maxi skirts + tops, midi skirts + tops and generally adhere to a pink + green/blue palette (i call it my strawberry shortcake color scheme hehe)

once u find what u like + what flatters u , stick to it tbh. its faaaar easier to get dressed if you know exactly what you're going for. its 100% more convenient and people are going to associate you with that look/aesthetic and i think its important to have a strong personal "brand" if u want to be distinct and memorable.

its even better bc if you ever wear something slightly different, people are going to lose their minds lol when all u did was channel a different vibe. its like a 0 cost makeover effect.

i think its economical, efficient, memorable and overall wonderful to build a personal "uniform" and stick to it

i can wear those outfits (from my moodboard) to class, to brunch, to dates, to shop etc,, they're very flexible and aren't overly dressy or overly casual.

i only buy something if i feel like i can wear it everyday, obviously some pieces are more dressy and are for "special occasions" but generally, dont buy anything you cant see yourself wear every single day.

im not saying you SHOULD wear it everyday but that, that should be the intention. clothes are meant to be worn and used, not just look pretty on the hanger. so when you're in the trial room, ask yourself, will i feel comfortable and cute wearing this everyday for a week straight if need be?

you can build a uniform for diff occasions too!! so sporty events can mean pink camisole with lace trims and cut off shorts with baseball cap and strawberry print Vans sneakers or some variation of that

4. maximising your pieces!!! (finally answering THE question u asked but we already know that i need to yap a bit to get to the point lmao)

i am a mix and match girlie and i think thats just the most efficient and economical approach to fashion lmao

take out everything in your wardrobe and lay it all out on your bed and start trying on different pieces together and take full length mirror selfies

create a folder in your gallery for "outfit ideas" and save these pix to that folder 😉

you can thoroughly clean out your closet and critically evaluate everything you own and play dress up and have fun all at once!! when you play around with clothes you own, you'll come up with outfit combos you would have never dreamt of and having them stored in your handy folder will help u access them quickly in the future when u have somewhere to go and need some ideas!!!

it will also help you understand what you have too little of and what u have too much of

maybe u have 10 pairs of pants and 5 skirts and only 6 tops,, now u know what u should and shouldnt shop for in the future

id never encourage unnecessary shopping but if your budget allows for it,, u can buy some "core pieces" that will be foundational to your wardrobe

anything can be worn a million different ways, u just have to be creative

understanding how colours work together + how fabrics work together is very beneficial

if u have a baby pink tulip skirt, u can wear it with a white corset top (pink and white look amazing together) ,, you can wear it with a white satin button down shirt, a white lace trim tank top etc etc,, notice how all of these are different styles of top wear but they're all white which means you can also wear it with any other colour or piece in your wardrobe

for every "standout/statement" piece your purchase (ex: a skirt with heavy embroidery or patterns) you should have 3 or more "neutral" pieces that complement it. "neutral" pieces are the ones that work with everything or most things in your wardrobe.

if you love monochrome, then u do u but otherwise id say buy pieces in colours you dont already have,,, u dont have to buy colours u hate but having pops of colour in your wardrobe also helps maximise outfits bc it looks like u have made more of an effort than u have.

many people hesitate to "wear" colour bc they think it looks loud or that it doesnt have repeat value or whatever but thats not true!! u can wear the same colourful piece thrice a week and style it completely differently and no one will notice

accessories ARE KEYYYY,, u can dress up or dress down a look with them. build a little collection of your staples, like jewellery u can wear everyday and not take off?? have a handful of essentials that u can rely on to spice up outfits. a pair of gold hoops, a pair of dangly earrings, a cute pendant, another cute pendant u can switch it up with, a few rings or bracelets, a watch etc u dont have to buy a lot or have a lot, u just have to be smart!!

same goes for shoes and bags,, have 2-3 in rotation that works with majority of your wardrobe,, nobody needs 10 pairs of shoes or bags tbh ,, dont hesitate to repeat things, it'll just be your "signature" look and who doesnt want a signature look?? 💅🏻😌😌

also since u mentioned u dont know how to maximise girly fits with a few pieces, I GOTCHU

its more efficient to invest in skirts and tops than dresses if u are on a budget bc a dress is an outfit in itself and u cant repeat it too often (u can get vvv creative with the styling tho ngl but thats for later)

im going to give you a very simple idea (?? ish?)

this is a very basic white tank top. it looks cuter and "feminine" bc it has lace trims. what makes an outfit feel more girly is often little details like this. so instead of wearing a basic tank top, pick something that is a bit frilly.

u can easily create an infinite number of outfits with this one piece

(i know they're not all wearing the same identical tank top but im just showing u the diff possibilities)

u only really need a few pieces tbh and the rest is just wearing them in different wayyyyss

I've been so intrigued by the trend of finding your color match for which season you are. So I finally sat down with some coffee and had my mom and sister help me.

I'm obsessed with pink and pink hair, and I lean toward pastel pink or magenta as my favorite color. I feel that I enjoy wearing dusty rose shades more than bright shades of pink honestly, but I do own a lot of magentas that I only wear on occasion.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm a "soft autumn" (which is great because I love the autumn), but it confirms my worst fear; I'm sallow. I once asked my partner to help me with a skin tone quiz for makeup, and he told me I was a little yellow. It ruined me because I do not like looking sallow. And the worst thing is that I was making myself sallow by dying my hair pink, and wearing only pink, and doing pink makeup, and becoming a sickly gumdrop. Obviously I looked happy, but it also made me yellow.

I also went through a serious pink haired goth phase, meaning, I was washing myself out in tons of black clothes, and making my face sallow with pink hair. I was so committed to this color scheme for years; a mournful gumdrop.

I think it's interesting that I've recently branched out to other colors of makeup and clothes. Here is an example of a custom makeup palette I put together. I now notice that I picked more tertiary or muted colors instead of bright primaries. Also, the tones are very similar to the soft autumn color palette. I also picked out a deep peacock green cream eyeshadow instead of a stark black eyeshadow, and the idea of dark colors that arent just black is really clicking with me now.

Then, I have the way my closet is currently organized. All the clothes to the left are newer and worn more often. There on the right are the magentas and blacks that I love, so I cant part with them, but I hardly wear.

Honestly, I took so much time with trial and error to get here when apparently it's easier than that to find out what your skin tone, hair, and eyes are complimented by.

g1 sweet screams draculaura - this is probably the most unrealistic, but i simply. LOVE HER. so much. SHES SOOOO CUTE. she's 100% my fav g1 draculaura doll. unfortunately everybody else has the same idea, so she'd be sooo incredibly expensive... really putting the "dream" in "dream doll".

tts rapunzel & cass - i'm always SOOO mad i never got these dolls when they were available . i want to make cassunzel hold hands sooo bad.... i mostly want cass from this set but having them together would be a dream.

Are the lines on your drawings stylistic choices or are they measurement/guiding lines? Either way, they are cool, but just wondered. I dont understand drawing at all, might as well be a magic spell to me. I was looking at the pencil (?) sketch of Malkin with the cheesecutter hat on.

i, uh, definitely did not google 'cheesecutter hat' until after i saved out these images. :/ sorry about that. if you'd like the other one broken down, i can do that too lol. my reading comprehension when im tired is kinda lazy i just saw 'cheese' and imediately thought 'omelette'. SO here's the 1) initial sketch, 2) 'clean' sketch, and 3) final lines for the omelette boy drawing instead:

also i have had a cumulative of about 9 ish hrs of sleep total for the past two days so keep that in mind for if this explanation makes no sense, its not my fault. :( anyway! the way i draw definitely has changed over the years but currently im really trying to focus on the line i "see" rather than the one that is actually "there". i've been applying this to my writing for years (story vs happening truth) and you know it never occurred to me that i could do it in my drawings too till like...a few years ago. in general these lines seem to form the planes of the subject. if you google 'stanford bunny' you can find an easy example of a 3D surface turned into triangles. I do this too - see things in relative triangle proportions, except i've been doing it long before i knew how computers worked. i cant begin to tell you how long d*sney and cartooning's obsession with round building blocks of anatomical structure fucked with my brain until i finally decided i could cast that teaching aside completely.

ANYWAY sorry off subject again. so we have these sketchy under lines, and usually as im trying to find the proportions and form of the subject these lines end up being where the light/shadow hits. here i saved out the 1) 'flat colors', 2) the 'light', and 3) the 'shadow' parts on their own (i lightened the background for the 'shadow' so its easier to see):

the light is like four or five 'overlay' layers of pale yellow/orange. you can see how each of these layers follow one of those sketchy lines i did initially. and the same with the shadow but instead its a dark red color set to 'multiply' for each layer. and when you combine everything together you get:

some bullshit :). anyway you know that anniversary edition of beauty and the beast that featured the version previewed to nyc audiences in 1990 with the glen ke*ne sketchy keyframe animation of the beast's transformation? i watched that - must have been sometime after i graduated college - and i felt robbed that THAT version was never presented as a final piece. the 'unclean' drawings had so much more life and movement and intensity to them. tldr i like the messy lines, i hate 'inking' with a passion (HATE. IT.), and when i finally allowed myself to stop giving a fuck drawing became way more interesting. but my art is shit and i will never be glen k*ane so i dont really feel like the best advocate for this "style". alas. there was this one artist on tumblr who i fucking loved whose sketches were SPECTACULAR but the asshole racists in the m*c*ha*nz*o fandom bullied her off tumblr and ive never been able to find her art anywhere else since. she was also very negative about her 'unclean' sketches and it made me so sad. there was also this other artist whose sketches were awe inspiring but all she drew was p*rn and well...we all know what happened on tumblr in december 2018.

also i 100% stole the lighting scheme from The Bear which is currently one of the most gorgeous shows on television right now in my opinion

im really really sorry if this makes no sense, if im feeling motivated maybe i'll try again when my brain is fully functioning but with the actual 'cheesecutter hat' doodle ^_^

More Rambling About Magic

So the main real difference between Witches and Fairies is the emotional pull, intent, and choice they make when casting this results in the different aesthetics that differentiate the two. If you look back far enough in the records you can find that the earliest records of the precursors of both Fairies and Witches that being Nymphs had a similar dichotomy.

These are examples of outfits the Nymphs would have wore. The precursor for Fairies is on the left while the precursor for Witches is on the right. 

The Nymphs with brighter color schemes, flower fabrics, and shinier accessories would end up setting the precedent for Fairy transformations to appear brightly colored and glittery. Some researchers believe that with these Nymps choice of flowing lighter fabrics and their choice of hair adornments gave off the illusion of wings while in flight or in motion. Thus modern Fairies having actual wings. Witches on the other hand have barely changed, their uniform simply becoming more streamlined over time.

 Fairies do not have their wings at all times which is part of why their transformation exist as they do. Nymphs would often show up to important events such as disasters and meetings in full regalia. It lead to the perception that Nymphs could access larger amounts of their power while appearing like that.

The difference between Witches not having wings and Fairies having wings results in a few minor differences in basic abilities. Flight for example Fairies fly in the sense of how insects and birds do their wings flap generating force to keep them airborne, Witches simply levitate using their powers. Charmix Tecna is interesting since her wings take the form of a paraglider/paper airplane while airborne, her wings function similarly to the wings of planes and similar aircraft, theres a curve on the top part of her wings that causes air to move faster over them compared to the flat bottom part of her wing, the slower moving air has more pressure then the faster air moving above it creating lift that keeps her airborne. When Tecna is hovering she levitates herself similarly to how witches do.

So far, MadWorld is so good but a thought keeps peeking into my head the more I play.

The narrative is cool, the visuals are great, the combat has some oomph to it, that good impact; the music is great and the "over the top" violence is really well executed

But... this doesnt feel right on the Wii...

And I dont mean it in a "The wii is a family console, so violent video games dont work on it" kind of way, I feel that is an insult to all the M rated games/series on the system (Like Resident Evil, Project Zero, NMH, Dead Space Extraction and so on), but moreso in a... this doesnt feel right because of the limitations and quirks of the wii

The visuals are fantastic, the black and white comicbook look is something ive never seen done again after this and the choise to make the only other color red to emphasise blood? brilliant!

... but you're doing this on the Wii... a console that outputs at 480p and most consumers will use at 480i because they might not have a display capable of outputting at a high resolution or the right cables...

Which leads to a game that is ... quite confusing to look at sometimes, telling depth is a constant struggle for me due to the limited pallete.

When running it on dolphin I find myself having a way easier time making out depth (its still a bit hard to look at sometimes, skill issue on my behalf).

seeing how a higher resolution does help out a ton... I wonder why they never considered doing a port to the PS3 with all the benefits that would have brought like: HD, PS Move support (if you want the waggle funny business) a more solid framerate on some areas

It prolly would have been the best way to experience the game!

... oh I havent written a word about the waggle funny business have I. Who mentions the fucking PS Move before bringing up the wiimote- ah well

So, the controls! They work pretty well! A being the main attack is fun, swinging the remote for uppers or back handed attacks is a blast and the chainsaw is real fun! ... but theres a few limitations

Grabbing being mapped to A leads to grabbing things feeling slightly unreliable, the lack of a second analog stick makes it so the camera is a little jank, specially locking on to enemies; using the nunchuck's motion controls to dodge is not my preffered way of doing it, I find it to be a bit of an unreliable option for such an important tool in the game

And this shoudnt be a huge problem, they could have taken the NMH aproach of mapping it to the dpad or mapping it to Z... but they mapped jump to Z... kewpie's slapdash tips and tricks for making moodboards

ive been asked a few times about how i make my moodboards and my MethodTM so here it is!

this is an image heavy post and as detailed and comprehensive as i can possible make it, if you have any questions let me know and i'll help if i can!

also, this is made with sites and apps for desktop- i have no experience editing on mobile so if that's what you're looking for im afraid i cant help you, sorry! ↷↷↷

Choose Your Fighter

let's get right into it- first thing first choose a character, or a ship or a series or whatever! i'll be doing a ship because it's a teeny bit more involved than just a single character or series

the ship will be grim x mandy from the one show

Picking Pictures

obviously the most important part of a moodboard is the Pictures

i use pinterest personally, and finding them on there is usually pretty easy, especially if i have an idea of things i want to include. a lot of people already have boards made up for characters as well, so just searching the character names under the 'board' option will usually get you where you need to go!

but i know some people prefer sources with free to use, royalty free type images, so i included those as well:

you can have as many or as little as you'd like, but personally i prefer the classic 9x9 grid style moodboards, so im obviously gathering 9 photos

as for what pictures to choose, here are some things to ask yourself:

do you have a color scheme you associate with this character/ship? are there any themes that are relevant?

these are the pics i choose for my board- they're raw, unedited, and uncropped, which we'll be changing here in a bit

notice that ive chosen the color scheme of pink, black, and white because that suits them and is also the colors in their actual character palettes

ive also picked some things that feel relevant to the ship and its vibes- mandy is associated with daisies, so i got a picture with a girl with a daisy in her eye, which i also paired with a skull with a flower in its eye socket, bringing them together with a common theme. there are also little black shoes and a bloody knee for mandy, a psythe and what could work for cerberus for grim, and since their ship is kind of gruesome and mean spirited (affectionate) as well as the show having pulpy vibes, i got a heart shaped steak, a pulpy romance/horror cover, and an old horror movie card with their VibesTM

Formatting

now that we have our pictures, its time to figure out the formatting! i went ahead and already did that with the pictures above using a site ipiccy, specifically the 'collage' options

once you press 'collage', you'll open up to this menue, where im choosing the 9x9 grid, but as you can see there are other options there if you wanna use them! then you're gonna press 'add images'

then you add images here (mine are already loaded in):

afterwards, you play around with the placement of the images- its okay if they clip or dont properly fit in the box, this is Only figuring out where you want the pictures to go, we'll place them properly later in a different program

when im placing them i like to consider patterns and shapes- top left square is a 'mandy' square, so bottom right should be a 'grim square', as well as echo each other- in this case the flowers in the eyes thing, and so on, even down to the pointy little shoes and the pointy little sythe this part can be v subjective, so i encourage you to play around until it clicks for you

i hope my scribbles kinda help explain visually what i mean:

also as a small personal tip: when i make moodboards i want to capture the feeling of a character/ship/what have you Without just Saying it. because of that i lean more heavily on the pictures themselves and Only ever use One that has text on it. again this is subjective, but to me its a 'telling vs showing' thing and too many words makes the whole thing feel v cluttered with little room for the actual characters involved

once you're satisfied with your placement, take a screenshot to reference your placement, and then we move on to

PS/Photopea, Templates, Adjustments, and PSDs

this is where we get really into it

firstly, i know most people either dont have PS or are nervous about downloading a cracked version (def do not click this because it is def not a link to older ps files you can dl for free) but luckily there's an extremely comprehensive in-browser option that is totally free called Photopea, which can be found HERE

its basically a 1 to 1 rebuild of the real thing, and since its more accessible i'll be using that to finish up my board!

first, you'll wanna throw your template in there, here's the one im using

once you open it, you also need to open the pics you chose to use- i suggest doing this one at a time to not overcrowd the program

once the pic is open, copy it and paste it over onto the moodboard, and then right click the layer and set it to 'clipping mask' which will keep the pic within the bounds of just the template:

then go over the toolbar on the right, press the 'rectangle select', then right click the board and select 'free transform' to move the picture around freely:

now is where you look at the screenshot you took of the ipiccy placement, and then you simply move the picture in the proper place in the moodboard! you might need to select and cut off the part that doesnt fit neatly into the square

continue doing this until you have it all filled out, and take some time to properly fit the pics (for example, the pic with the text needed to be (to does this is photopea drag around the corners while in 'free transform, and if you dont want it to scale at the same dimensions press 'shift' on the keyboard while you drag, which is what i had to do with the text or the flower-in-the-skull to make it fit properly))

its important that All your layers are properly set to clipping mask, otherwise it'll be all messed up! so it should look like like this when you're done, and hopefully everything will be layered on the board properly, and we end up with this:

you could stop here and be done with it, the entire moodboard can be finished now, but i like to tweak things like contrast and value and levels, which are found here in the 'image' section at the top- ive been as tutorial-esque as i can be so far, but this one really comes down to playing around with it and making adjustments until you like the outcome (each layer can be changed individually)

i try to make it so everything feels even- the blacks match and the whites match and none of them feel particularly lighter or darker or more saturated than the others

and Finally the secret sauce: PSDs!

these are premade colors/effects that you drop on top of board to help even things out, maybe make some colors Pop

there are a Ton of them free to use on tumblr and deviantart, and Here is a tutorial on how to use them! (its done on mobile but works functionally the same as on desktop)

feel free to make adjustments to the photos more under the psd until it looks right to you

once ive selected and used the psd i wanted, i export it as a png, and this is the result!

i'm a curvy-built nonbinary trans dude who has chosen not to pursue medical transition, and i also struggle a lot with this as a knitter.

obligatory: gender is fake, do what u want, etc. when i talk abt masc/fem clothes/patterns/colors/etc im talking abt perception, both my own and that of those around me. its as much for my own dysphoria brain goblins as it is so i can be seen right by other people -- clothes have no gender & anyone can wear whatever they want.

overall, i find that color scheme matters a lot. darker and/or muted colors, especially neutrals, get me read more masc consistently. single color designs, especially things with some cabling, also get me read as more masc.

i have also had a lot of success on the "looking genderqueer" (for lack of a better term) front by making fem patterns in masc colors or masc patterns in fem colors. this is especially important to me because i love wearing bright & colorful clothes, so to do that and not have the dysphoria goblins come after me, i often make masc patterns in more fem colors. obvs if ur making a mens sweater pattern, ur gonna have to adjust the construction to fit ur body, though. which is annoying. i usually dont make sweaters specifically though (im more of a hats/scarves/mittens/socks kinda guy) so unfortunately i cant help much there.

Ok. So. This is only really tangentially about yarn stuff, but it's going here because that tangential relation is the Point.

Lately, I've been having really strong Gender Feelings. My presentation is currently in the vaguely feminine range, but in the not-quite way that fat folks who don't put in a Ton Of Effort get lumped into. For formal or otherwise dressed up settings, I'm fine with that - I like wearing pretty dresses and that kind of thing. That sweater I test knit earlier this year is a great example - it's a little bit dressy, and is feminine in the way that I like.

The problem is in casual settings. I look very Default Cishet Fat Lady in casual clothes and I don't like it. I'm an agender ace lesbian. I want to look more clocky. I want other queer folks to look at me and Know I'm one of them. I want cishet folks to look at me and Know I'm not like them.

If I'm wearing a T-shirt, I can just chuck a flannel or other unbuttoned button-down over it and bam, clocky. Easy. The harder part is in the things I knit. I don't know how to pick knit patterns that look casual without also looking femme-y on me. I've got a very curvy figure, with exceptionally large hips, and I feel like with knitwear, this actively works against me.

So: Does anyone have any advice on picking knitwear designs that look less femme, even on a curvier body? Would going for more ease in the chest do it for something like a simple raglan? Crew neck rather than scoop? Shallow v-neck instead of deep? I really don't know. Any help is appreciated.

I am back with another ramble-y blog post! I've been posting a lot these the past few days, haven't I? I disappear indefinitely, and then pop back up as actively as ever. Strange, right? 🤔

So, earlier I officially announced my Etsy is up and running, woo! 🥳 I got most things done for it, like my website, social media posts, headers, banners, icons, etc. Only thing I'm missing is making dividers. I'm kinda lagging behind on making those... (I'll get to it 🫠 my brain feels like mush atm. I need a break.)

Thing is, my idea of a "break" is ~go to Youtube to watch videos, and absorb information~ which is technically "not a break".

I'll do this for probably 2-3 hours, depending on how "drained" I feel. I do come out feeling like I've learned a lot though! (But my brain isn't getting a rest, lol 😅)

Let me share just one video from someone new I found (that I totally subscribed to). I really like his videos and I'll be watching a lot more of them in the future. He has a great sense of humor and his vids are very helpful.

I watched a couple of his color theory vids as well because the last time I can remember studying color theory-anything was years ago.

It doesn't hurt to brush up on those things. Like, I forgot about the triadic color scheme. I don't know why that one specifically 🤔. The others I was like "Oh yeah! For sure remember those." but my brain was like "Triad? That went poof somewhere along the way, derp." 🙃

It's possible I've been passively applying it all this time without realizing it but I'd have to go back through my art and look 🤷🏻‍♀️

And then mix some of his information with tips and tricks from another person I recently found (and linked a couple days ago). I'll link another vid I found today from her that I really liked.

The last vid from her would work great on watercolor paper that's weighted/heavy enough to take in solvents (from a couple posts ago). But this method, I feel is great for paper that is too lightweight where you cant.

All this is to say, I'm finding a lot of motivation from these videos I'm watching- and tips and tricks, and learning new skills and methods.

I can't wait to try a lot of these things. I did buy some new pencils and erasers but I do have a lot of this stuff already (I believe I mentioned this in a previous post).

Valentine's Day is coming up and so is one of my favorite anime character's birthdays. I've been trying to formulate poses and ideas of what to draw but I'm coming up with a total blank, lol. It's increasingly difficult when I've drawn him for the past 3 years. I can't do the same thing over and over 😅

Time to think of something and to actually draw something is just getting shorter and shorter 😖 Valentine's day is not that far away~

thank you for asking, i love talking about chara design :-)

just my opinion but in general, i think a lot of the designs seem more focused on making something cool and unique than something that anyone would actually want to wear, and counting on lots of details to make it seem like there's more going on than there is

that's my problem with a lot of the designs : i look at them and i struggle to judge them at all because i cant even tell what they were going for. why is orin a lobster

one outfit i particularly dislike is wyll's camp clothes, i genuinely have no clue why they made him wear this. so he's got a torn sleeves, crop top that's the texture of potato sack, with a very poorly tied lace closure ; then a huge belt with a weird buckle shaped like a lock ; then cropped pants with cords at the bottom..??? it's also very monochrome and somber in colors. i don't know, i don't want to be mean if anyone really likes this outfit, but i really don't get what they were going for and i feel like wyll could wear clothes that reflect his background as a noble born, chivalrous man. if i designed wyll, i'd give him clothes that are well worn but subtly expensive. im thinking prince charming, but on the road

this one might be a hot take but i also personally think gortash's design and behavior are kinda mismatched. i find the concept of a social climber charismatic evil person cool, but then i'd design that character to blend in with the nobles and like, not look like a total mess. cant even bother redoing your makeup for the big coronation? what's the point of all this pageantry and sneaky scheming if you don't even bother with a costume? i just think it would be cool if your opponent was someone who can actually feign innocence, a real wolf in sheep's clothing moment. and then getting to see behind the facade would be cool

i dont even hate his design, there's a lot i like, i just feel like it doesn't really fit for his role in the game

something common to orin and gortash and ketheric (i like ketheric's design more but i don't love it) is having so many little details that they end up a bit cluttered. orin has a million jewelry pieces, but i can't think of any that seemed to mean anything about her. i will also highlight gortash's signature hoodie-esque shirt ties because what... function would that possible serve. combined with the flames on his shirt, it felt like a callback to the black hoodies with flames i coveted when i was in elementary school, which im not sure is the right vibe for this

i compare all of this to the designs in pillars of eternity or dragon age inquisition, and i think these games were a lot better at designing characters who wear believable clothes that communicate their social class, style, and what image they want to project. vivienne is so elegant and powerful and her hatpiece is iconic, i like solas's humble traveler clothes, i love josephine's diplomat clothes. and these designs are not incredibly complicated, they're pretty clean and simple and it's clear what they're trying to convey. im not even saying my favorite designs, i just picked three random characters, pretty much every companion is well-designed in my opinion

this is so long. sorry for my crimes. anyway. im not trying to be a hater, i just love it when clothes convey information about the person who wears them

every time i talk about bg3 with my friends i end up complaining about character design somehow. it's not even hater behavior, it's the opposite : i just think a lot of characters have cool concepts that are not communicated that well by their designs

what's your favorite zelda design? my fav is a tie between twilight princess and skyward sword ^_^ tetra is top tier overall as just generally the best zelda character ever, in my mind she's completely separate from her zelda persona lol. i could go on about how they absolutely nerfed tetra in every game she's in but that's for another day

okok design wise for zelda.. i LOVE skyward sword zelda shes so Bwebeh... i like the contrast between the vibrancy of her hair and her dress while shes on skyloft and i find her pretty white dress well. Pretty. older ocarana of time zelda is so AURGH top tier character design i love that her hair is sort of red? also i love the pink/purple color she has going on.. i also love a link between worlds zelda shes so cute. (hilda is too! i was so obsessed with hilda when i played the game i luv her inverted color scheme). botw zelda is nice i just think her design is somewhat clunky? i can't explain this but I think the shorter hair she has in totk definitely benefits her design more.. i like her white dress look tho i like gold/white combos. <- its so hard to choose every zelda is just. (holds her forever)

HUNTER Au. But with valerie as phantom n danny as a hunter!!!

Ok what if vlad's plan at the reunion still failed because of jack. Danny not being phantom is none thw wiser to vlad being a ghost.

Events continue but definitely not the same. The portal was not completed by the time reunion happen. So vlad co buys out Valerie's dad's workplace. With fentons working there.

Valerie ends up becoming a half ghost do to a mishap. A sabotage that was actually planned by vlad but he didnt plan for one of his employees daughters to visit. (Explaining this poorly i is)

Valerie being half ghost is pissed at the fentons for what they done. And makes it known while trying to get a grip of her powers n ghost problem around town.

Fentons end up dying and vlad has perfect outlet to blame murders on. The new little heroine.

Only one who didnt die was danny.. and under his godfather he has a way to fight ghosts...

Vlad's completely amused and pushes the boy to get rid of that girl who destroyed his gamily.. unbeknownst the ghost who did was right there.

School life valerie feels bad for danny n apologizes to him. Danny n Valerie get along like they did in show.

But its flipped. With danny hating her alter ego, n valerie unable to blame him for it. But soon learns vlad is the mastermind.. which fuels her rage more because danny is being played like a pawn.

Idk if i explain it well but idea free for anyone uwu. Basically valerie is the ghost hero n Danny's the hunter.

Ooo imagine her colors still being mainly red.. maybe red hair instead of inverted to white.

Danny being green hunter. Well probably a cooler name but color scheme green still.

Also can see danny being terrified of ghosts but after his family is taken, he thinks his parents are right n has to stop the ghosts.

Vlad not having bonded with danny over being half ghost n this girl is more of a nuance than worth keeping, he's just amused. Though still cares for the boy but more as a momento or trophy of maddie. Maybe still trying to clone her n the basement hidden part of the lab.

Oooooo danny unknowingly building majority of or fixing majority of Vlad's machines. His blueprints being used for more dastardly things.

So when the reveal happens its very climatic!

Valerie is captured and about to be taken out. Vlad is revealed and danny just stands n horror realizing what he done... what vlad has done... who valerie is...

And like always, vlad under estimates the ppl around him. And danny is done being a pawn. Him n valerie team up. Only to talk as sun rises up.

"..I.. i don't know. Vlad's my guardian but... i don't know. They won't keep me from him. There is nothing i can do to prove he's.. and that he killed..."

"We? After I tried to-You should hate me!"

"Tch. You were just trying to avenge your family. I would have done the same for less."

"Still doesn't change the fact that-"

"Danny. Only person I hate right now is Vlad. He put us up to this! You. Me. Your parents. He's to blame.. besides. I know how sweet you are in person. You would never hate someone without good reason. " putting a hand on his shoulder.

Danny sat there quietly as he glanced over at Valerie. He smiled weakly, "You're glowing."

"Pfft. What else is new, Fenton?"

"Also just realize red is definitely your color. "

"Glad to hear because its not like i can change it. Unlike you. Green is not ur color."

"Hey! Why not?"

"You always look more blue to me."

"Great at pointing out my trauma n depression ms. Wraith."

"Not what i meant," she rolled her eyes with a grin and shoved him lightly with her shoulder. "No blue like water and the sky. "

"Sky is refraction of water vapor-"

"Danny!"

"Okay okay ill stop."

"We should get someone to house you."

"Like who?"
