So I was thinking about your old baby Damian au and I low key want to try and write a fic about it because I’m obsessed with it.

But I have two questions.

Would Damian still not like Tim at first?

Would Talia tell them she found Jason?

So I'd say if your gonna include Tim I personally think Damian wouldn't like him since he probably doesnt want this random 13 year old stranger to be robin bc to him jason was robin (which is an interesting view since to tim Dick is the og best robin) and yeah the way Tim views and talks about Jason isnt great

Yeah I'd say Talia wise it'd be close enough to canon that not much would change shed be considering telling Bruce after she fixed him but once she hears Jason's (murdery) new opinions on Bruce I'd say she'd go by jasons wishes and not tell Bruce she might tell Damian however if she knows he would tell Dick... she's probably not telling Damian

FOR THE FLUFF

1. What are things they both find funny? They lose it when they watch those EPIC FAIL videos. Anything involving the pain and suffering of others stitched together with the comedic timing of sound effects lifts their spirits.

2. If they could each describe each other in one sentence, what would it be? “He is my angel.” Short and simple, meant to encompass every meaning of the word. “Mercilessly vengeful, cruel, and radiant, she is my pride and joy.”

3. If they complimented each other, what would they say? Soulay’s compliments usually focus on Elliot’s achievements and various accolades. She’s also known to comment on his host body from time to time because well... woof. Elliot is the romantic of the two, ascribing beauty to all Soulay does.

4. What would be their ship name? Spellbound. To hold the complete attention of (someone) as though by magic; fascinate.

5. What activities do they enjoy together? While they enjoy doing most anything together, staying in different hotels around the world is their guilty pleasure. Elliot goes nuts over the smallest things “Look, beloved, they garnished our pillows with mints.” and Soulay is always happy to be away from the Sulo Estate.

8. What were their first impressions of each other? Uhhh... Their initial encounter was brief and unyielding of any strong sentiments. Elliot eventually became infatuated with her and Soulay saw it as an opportunity to overthrow the Sulo family.

9. Have they made each other cry? Not intentionally. They’ve been together for over 100 years, so of course they’ve had their rough patches, said some things they shouldn’t have and through miscommunication and stubborn pride caused the other grief.

11. What causes them to fight? The Order of the Renew is a constant source of tension between them. Soulay loathes the organization and Elliot has devoted his life to it. As Elliot’s visions are grandeur start becoming a reality, Soulay begins to show more resentment towards him and his followers.

12. Do they have differing political opinions? Not really? Being top dog of a cult means they both are able to set the policies they want and neither of them are too caught up in the human rights violations of other nations. 

13. Name something they would never do for the other person. Neither one would give up their magic, even if the other’s life depended on it. Honestly, it stems for childhood trauma on both their parts and not wanting to feeling powerless again + if one of them dies then at least the other can try to revive them with magic.

14. What would be a dealbreaker? Their relationship relies heavily on codependency so nothing is really off the table. 

15. What are traits they dislike in one another? He’s stubborn, overworked, and a wet blanket in private. She talks while she eats and doesn’t recycle.

16. If they broke up, what would be their opinions of each other? They’d sooner kill each other than break up. Elliot couldn’t handle knowing that Soulay no longer loves him and Soulay rather see Elliot dead than happy with someone else.

FOR THE DEPTH

17. What senses (sights, smells, feelings, etc). remind them of each other? Fairgrounds bring about nostalgia in both of them. That was their first date, after all. Elliot has a deep obsession with the sea, so similar items along that vein always remind Soulay of him.

18. What would be their love motto? I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.

19. If they could each write a single line in their marriage vows, what would they be? They don’t do vows. Words are cheap and when you’re as old as them you know you’re gonna be breaking a lot of stuff you said in your youth. 

20. What is a promise they have made to each other? To always have the other’s best interest at heart.

21. How have they changed each other for the better/for the worse? Soulay’s habits and vices rub off more on Elliot than vice versa, just because she is more worldly than him and when you both grow up in the same environment, it’s the one who leaves that will more likely change. Elliot has influenced Soulay’s taste in men, as he’s now the gold standard most cannot compete against.

22. If their lives were what was originally intended at birth, would they have still fallen in love? They’d both be dead. Different periods of times but same result.

24. What is something they have each had to forgive the other for? They don’t really ask for forgiveness...so I don’t know how it would work. But Elliot gets hurt every time Soulay leaves the Order for extended periods of time, and had to make peace with it. 

FOR THE DIRTY

25. What moves do they know work on the other? Elliot freakin’ loses it when Soulay gives him a massage. He knows exactly what’s about to happen next when she starters kneading his shoulders. It’s a Pavlovian response and royalty screws him over when he goes to a masseuse.

Soulay is by far the easiest person to get in the mood and it does help that Elliot usually inhabits the bodies of people he knows to be her type. Running a hand through his hair and asking for sex is all it really takes, tho he’s far too much of a gentleman to be so brazen...most days.

26. What are their favorite parts about physical affection/sex? The concept of being wanted and admired. They’re both such lonely people and their need for love manifests itself in different ways but during sex they share a lot of the same fetishes and kinks, even if Elliot doesn’t fully want to admit it.

faith/alice: alice. easily. you wouldn’t expect someone her size to have such a good alcohol tolerance, but she can easily keep up with hurk and sharky.

elizabeth/tess: hmmmm. tess, probably.

faith/alice: alice says it casually more, but faith says it with meaning.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth.

3) who has trouble sleeping alone?

faith/alice: faith - she can sleep alone, she’s just much, much happier when alice is there with her. sometimes she feels a little silly curling into alice’s side when she’s that much taller than alice, but she feels safe that way.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth. generally, when she has no option other than sleeping alone? she stays up until she literally can’t stay awake. the first night she gives up and sleeps in the same bed as tess? that’s her first proper night’s sleep in years. her nightmares don’t stop after she gets to jackson like she had hoped, but by then? neither her nor tess mind the cuddling.

faith/alice: lmao have you met alice

elizabeth/tess: listen, a lot of alice’s traits came from elizabeth (before i had decided to add elizabeth in) and uh... the swearing was one of them. tess gives her a run for her money, but elizabeth absolutely swears more.

faith/alice: technically faith - they both do housework, but after faith moves in, she’s home more.

elizabeth/tess: ....hmmm.... elizabeth, i think - she hates cleaning, but she’s very particular about how things are cleaned.

faith/alice: neither of them are really sure what day they should actually cound as their anniversary lol - the day they met, the day they started dating, the day they started dating again... etc.....

elizabeth/tess: okay so. elizabeth doesn’t actually remember what day her and tess met, or what day they became a “thing,” since that technically happened on their trek across the country. until they got married, they agreed to just use the day they arrived in jackson, but elizabeth really wishes she remembered. (Tess does - for both - but she knows elizabeth will immediately forget it... again....)

7) who steals the duvet in their sleep?

faith/alice: i think i’ve said alice for this before, but honestly? faith. she’s a massive blanket hog.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth omg. tess doesn’t know how she does it.

8) who keeps the other awake at night with their snoring?

faith/alice: faith. and the cats. faith usually blames the cats, but alice knows she snores too.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth says she doesn’t snore. tess says she talks, which is worse.

9) who finds stray animals and begs the other to let them keep them?

faith/alice: oh god. it’s alice. 100%. the worst was when alice decided that peaches was going to be a house cat - she was talked out of that, but she still made her a nest in the garage.

elizabeth/tess: once again, alice got her ‘adopting every animal she sees’ habit from elizabeth lol - she says all the semi-feral or feral cats she finds can be barn cats, but every single one that she finds that is friendly? it either ends up in her and tess’ house (which is tiny) or someone else’s. same with dogs and... any small animal, really. tess asked her to stop, but uh - then the neighbors started bringing elizabeth animals to place, which is how they ended up with their ferret, noodle.

10) who usually makes dinner?

faith/alice: alice is not allowed to cook.

elizabeth/tess: they generally will cook together, or whoever is home first will - neither of them are particularly good at cooking, but they like the process of it.

faith/alice: alice! faith has come home to alice having a dance party with the cats many times.

elizabeth/tess: hmmm. they both will - elizabeth’s more likely to blast her old record player, but tess will be a little more aware of the people around her and the house.

12) who hogs the bathroom?

faith/alice: listen. alice’s hair takes a lot of maintenance. she’s also terrible at putting in her contacts, so uh, that takes a while.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth, once again lol. before arriving in jackson she didn’t really care, but once they were settled in, she felt like she could take time on her appearance again. and hot showers. god, she missed hot showers. and baths. (tess joins her in those sometimes - to save water, of course - but tess still takes significantly less time in there.) ....also, she tends to read a book when she’s in there and completely lose track of time lol

faith/alice: oh, they both will. a lot. i’m just terrible at writing them lmao

elizabeth/tess: tess. elizabeth is terrible at giving and receiving compliments

faith/alice: after faith ditches the cult, it’s usually because alice did something reckless, which happens a lot more as they get closer to willow arriving in prosperity - faith is worried, and alice feels like she’s useless if she’s just hiding in the ranch.

elizabeth/tess: similarly - it’s usually because someone did something stupid/dangerous. tess has gone out on patrols when elizabeth didn’t think it was safe - incoming weather, too many infected nearby, etc, and elizabeth has burnt herself out before working in the barns, taking barn shifts, or (more often than she’ll admit) deciding the best way to fight the infected is by getting more than a little too close.

faith/alice: alice tries. she really does.

elizabeth/tess: elizabeth tries, but her idea of helping is continuously handing tess soup. tess is a little better, but she will also listen to elizabeth when she says to stop hovering

faith/alice: both of them. the fight they’re currently having in otb is the longest one that they have at about... i think my timeline has it at about three weeks total? there’s more but - spoilers! 😉 anyways, most of their fights are a few minutes to a few hours - they have a rule of not going to bed angry.

The Story

Well i haven't posted here in years but this seems like the best place to put this first. Tumblr was the first place I ever felt comfortable enough to be honest about myself and my past so it just seems fitting.

TRIGGER WARNINGS

Sexual abuse, self harm, eating disorders

The first time I kissed a boy I was 5. Now that might not seem weird because little kids kiss each other. They turn it into games and adults watch on and say how sweet and cute it is that little boys and girls run around chasing each other trying to kiss. Well I was 5 and he was 11. This was also turned into games. We would playhouse and hide and seek. We would build forts and go on adventures and no one thought it was weird that an 11 year old boy spent so much time with a 5 year old girl. "They’re like siblings," they said. "Well he's protective of her, she's like his sister." They claimed.

 What was really going on was the over sexualization of a child. What I didn’t know at the time was I was being molested. This continued for years. kisses, some touching of places that no child should be touched or should be touching. I thought I loved him. I thought that's what love was and for years and years I was obsessed with him. He was like family but what others saw as sibling love I saw as much more. He was my best friend, my partner in crime.

 I was never scared. I never felt uncomfortable. I never thought to tell anyone because at that point I was already fantastic at keeping secrets I thought might change my life. I never thought anything was wrong with what we were doing. That’s what boys and girls do when they like each other right?

 When I was 6, I remember being in the very back of my mom’s Isuzu with the boy and another kid that was the son of a neighbor. I don’t remember where we were going or why the 3 of us were in the trunk. I remember the 2nd boy asking me if I had ever put my mouth on a boy’s penis. I hadn’t and I told him so. Somehow, they convinced me that I should try it. I didn’t want to, it seemed weird to me. What me and the first boy had was special and I didn't want to touch anyone else. But he told me that this is what friends do. So, I did for just a second. I remember the three of us laughing. I knew that boy for a couple more years, hanging out, going to birthday parties. But nothing like that ever happened again and then the next thing I knew the boy was gone.

 I developed pretty early on in life. I would have boys’ comment about my body and ask me to do things to them at a young age. I was 9 the first time a boy saw me with my pants off. He was a 13 year old from the neighborhood that I hung out with a lot and one day we were in my room. Now my parents weren't home, and he had convinced me that I should have sex with him. I don't remember wanting to, but friends were important to me and he told me that this is what friends do. I tried to avoid it for as long as I could but somehow, he had convinced me that it was happening. He never put his hands on me. He never physically forced me to do anything. I felt like I had to. To keep my friend and so that people would like me.

 I remember being terrified. I didn't want to do it but there were a lot of things I had done in my life that I didn't want to do that I had done. At 9 years old I thought to myself well it’s better to try and tell myself that I want it rather than fight against it and be traumatized from it. What kind of 9 year old thinks like that? By the grace of whatever higher power is out there just as he laid on top of me my dad came into my room. I was even more scared because all I could think was that my dad is going to kill him and then he will go to jail and then he will be gone forever.

 I don't remember much after that. I remember my dad yelling and dragging me into my parents’ bedroom where he proceeded to beat the ever-living shit out of me. I remember crying but not saying anything. I remember sitting in our living room afterwards watching TV. I remember my dad crying for hours and then days after. My father had never laid a hand on me. Not even a slap on the mouth or butt when I misbehaved, even though I never really misbehaved. I don’t remember the boy leaving. To this day 20 years later we have never spoken about what happened. I never talked about it. No questions were asked, and I was grateful for that. I don’t remember ever seeing the boy after that.

 Now on and off the first boy would come back into my life. Things would go back to the way they were, the kissing and the touching and inappropriate conversations and then he would be gone again, and I would miss him.

 During these times I would be put in a lot of situations where I didn’t feel safe. My parents did a lot of drugs when I was younger and my mom would go to Asbury Park or Newark to get them and I knew what she was doing and I was always scared for her so I would beg and beg to go with her even though I knew it might be scary. It was just the thought of something happening to her and me not being there was worse so I would cry and cry until she took me with her. I lost count of the amount of times an adult male looked at me in such a way that I would want to throw up or poop my pants. I may not have known what they were thinking but my stomach always knew that I didn't like it. I always felt dirty.

 Now I had crushes on boys just like any young girl, but I never thought I was good enough for them, so I never acted on it. All my friends that were girls were so much prettier than me. They seemed so much more mature and desirable even though they were only a year older. It was during this time that I first started feeling ugly. Like other people had something that I didn’t. That I didn't deserve or couldn't have certain things because of the way I looked and the secrets I kept.

 The scariest night of my life was when I was 12 years old. Now I’m pretty sure that’s the right timeline but it’s been so long, and I've blocked so much out. I was an awkward kid. I was quiet. I went through puberty much earlier then everyone around me. I was taller than my friends even the guys, I had quite a large chest even for 12 and I would hide it under sweatshirts and baggy clothes. I don't know why it was always so important to me but looking back now I think I was just trying to hide myself from people, from men.

 My mom was going somewhere, and I demanded to go with her. I was wearing a blue Yankees sweatshirt, jeans, and white shoes. I sat in the back of the car and she was driving. We stopped and picked up two people along the way. It was nighttime.

 The man that was sat with me in the back was a friend of hers. I don’t remember much about him, but I had seen him before. I must have felt comfortable enough around him because he had his arm around my shoulders, and I didn't think anything of it. I couldn't tell you how old he was just that he was an adult.

 We drove around stopping at a few places. I remember driving down main Street in Bradley Beach passing the quick check that’s there. I remember the radio being on and I remember being tired. I remember his arm moving to around my stomach and my heart beating out of my chest. I remember his hands touching my bare waist. The next thing I remember is being parked on a street in long branch outside of someone's house down the street from my middle school. I can’t remember if I was asleep or I was just pretending to make the situation easier. The next thing I remember is the man sticking his hand into my jeans and underwear.

 I didn’t make a sound. I didn’t move. I didn't even open my eyes. I just sat there as yet another man touched me in ways no child should be touched. I didn't know what to do. So, I did nothing. I remember thinking I’m 12 years old, I’m someone's child. What type of person does this?? I thought about how devastated my mom would be. How if I spoke up, she would probably try to kill this man and then she would go to jail and then she would be gone forever.

 I remember pretending to wake up and him removing his hand and that’s all I remember from that night. I’ve never been sure if he really thought I was sleeping or if he knew I was awake.

 Now though I never saw him again over the next few months my mother would get phone calls from him from jail and he would always ask to speak to me. He would say hello. He wanted to know how I was doing and how school was and then I would find some excuse to get off the phone and I would go to my room and I would cry a little, but not too much because I didn't want anyone knowing I was upset. He used to send her letters and she would mention that he asked about me. My stomach would turn.

 Eventually the calls and letters stopped. It would be almost 10 years before I started talking about that night with friends, swearing them to secrecy.

 Later that year I met a boy. A son of one of my mom’s friends I think he was 16 at the time. We hung out any time I was over there, and we talked, played video games did what friends do. One day he told me he liked me, that I was Beautiful, that he couldn't understand why I didn't have a boyfriend. I remember being shy. I didn’t like getting compliments from people. I said thank you. He asked if I liked him and even though I didn't, I didn't want to lose a friend, so I lied and said yes.

 The next time we hung out he asked if I would have sex with him. I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to; sex was not something that ever crossed my mind. So, I made up a lie. I told him that I thought I was too young for sex but that when I turned 13 that I would. He thankfully took that as an answer and didn't bring it up again until after my birthday. He said well your 13 now so you owe me something. I owed him something? I remember thinking how crazy that sounded. Yes, I had told him I would, but did that mean I owed it to him. I made up more excuses, over and over again and it never happened. I never saw him again.

 The boy from my childhood would come around. He would hang out with me, take me places, buy me things. But nothing else would happen. We would sometimes joke about the things we did as "kids" but that was it. I remember feeling ugly. I didn’t understand why we didn't do the things we used to. I figured he didn't love me anymore and that made me sad.

 When I was 14, I kissed a boy. This boy was a very good friend that had known me my entire life. I had always had a crush on him, but I never thought he saw me for anything more than just his best friend.

We kissed one night, and I mean really kissed. Now we had kissed plenty of times before as kids playing those silly games I talked about earlier. But this was different. I was 14 he was 15, I was sleeping over his house and we were cuddling. He kissed me and he seemed just as nervous as I was. But I wasn't scared. It didn't feel wrong, I didn't feel like I had to. I like to think of that night as the first time I kissed a boy. That night I had my first real "age" appropriate sexual experience and I remember feeling safe. I remember thinking maybe this could be the start of something. Nothing ever came of it. He is still one of my best friends who I love very much and I will always hold dear the events of that night and how it made me feel like maybe it wasn't so wrong to like boys. That maybe boys could be safe. We recently spoke about that night for the first time just a few weeks ago. He admitted that he liked me so much back then, but he was scared. He wished he would have spoken up. Maybe things would be different if he did.

 When I was 17, I fell in love and I lost my virginity to the boy I was dating who was 18. He was kind and gentle and loved me and didn't make me feel like my body was his or that I owed him anything. He made me feel good about myself. He made me feel beautiful. That was the first time I actively measured my self-worth according to someone else's love. Then he broke my heart into so many pieces it felt like I was dying because I kind of was. I would begin to slowly kill myself from the inside out and the trauma of losing that love and the things that happened after setting me on a path that still haunts me to this day.

 I developed an eating disorder. Not only was I too depressed to eat but I had convinced myself that I just wasn't good enough. That I was too fat for him. That maybe if I were thinner someone could love me. I dropped 60 pounds in 2 months. I weighed 152 pounds at 5'10 and though I knew I was sick. I thought I looked amazing.

 I started cutting myself. At first just to feel something, I would walk around feeling like a drained zombie and most times I couldn't even cry. I felt full of emotions I couldn't get rid of. Then I found that it helped relieve my anxiety. With every slash I felt relief. I felt the weight on my chest disappear. The blood didn't bother me, the pain for days after didn’t bother me. I only knew that it made me feel better and as long as I was careful and as long as no one knew it would be okay until I could feel better and I could stop.....I didn't for a long time.

 Over the course of months this boy used me because he knew I loved him so much and wanted him back in my life so badly that I would do anything. We continued to sleep together even though he had a new girlfriend. I will always regret that, and I believe karma has gotten me back tenfold for that, but I was just a love-struck teenager, I didn't understand what I was doing. Those actions just made me feel even more worthless. Now what I have come to realize is that yes, he was wrong, I was wrong, but he was just a confused teenager just like me. I no longer blame him for the hurt he caused. We speak from time to time.

 With my huge weight loss and some confidence, I began to give parts of myself away to people that didn't deserve me. These were not bad guys. They were all age appropriate. I never felt forced or guilted into it, but it did kill a piece of me every time. I wanted these boys to like me, to find me attractive because I liked them, and it had never really worked like that for me before. For them to be showing me any attention at all was huge for me because I didn't think much of myself. I didn’t think I was worthy and so I gave them parts of me as appreciation for that.

 When I was 19, I met a guy and I slept with him 3 hours after meeting him. He was 24 when we met. We dated for almost 3 years during which time he was verbally abusive and cheated on me with over a dozen people. He did this because I wouldn't experiment with him. I wouldn't have threesomes and I wouldn't cater to other things he proposed. Over those 3 years we had a lot of sex. Sometimes I wanted to and sometimes I didn’t. When I didn’t want to, he would guilt me into it or try to get me into the mood and almost every time I would give in. I would give in because I loved him, and sex is what people do when they love each other. I loved him more than anything and I still wasn't good enough for him to want just me, that broke me. I didn’t find out about all the people he had slept with until the very end of our relationship. We haven't spoken in almost 8 years.

 I've had issues with sexual relationships ever since.

 Over the years my anxiety, depression and self-loathing just grew and grew. At 21 I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety, major depression, and panic disorders. This did not come as a surprise to me. The very first time I ever remember being anxious I was 4 and my mom was going to steal a toy I wanted from the store. So, to hear from a professional that that is exactly what it was almost a relief.

 The 6 months after my diagnosis was particularly hard. I was working 2 jobs, going to college, my first long term relationship had just ended. My grandfather and uncle passed away, super storm sandy devastated the coast and nothing felt like it was ever going to be okay again. I don’t think I had ever felt lower in my life, I drank too much, and I made some really bad decision. But something happened, I hit bottom and then I picked myself up and I kept moving. That is a pattern I have continue. I go go go and I deplete myself, I hit bottom, I keep going. That’s just what I've kind of done my entire life actually.

 Since then I've had a few relationships, I’ve had a few "hook ups " there were good times and bad. I always gave it my all but there was always this stuff in the background. My anxiety always got in the way. My insecurities got in the way. Though the reason why things didn't work out weren't always my fault, I always felt like something I did pushed these people into the direction they ended up going.

 I always felt so blessed to have them, so shocked that people like them saw something in someone like me. Some of them felt the same way about me and it baffled me why anyone would think of me that way. I guess they in turn probably felt that too. I always held on too tight. I was always afraid that if I let up or let my grip go just a little that I would lose them. I’ve learned that all I did by holding them so close was to suffocate all the beautiful possibilities of what could have been. Whether it was because it scared them or they just stopped feeling the same or they just never felt the same I will never know, but I will never stop feeling like something in me drive them away.

 I've said in the past that I try to be as vulnerable as possible. It’s something I started when I first realized the gravity of what I had been through.

I’ve been told that simply isn't the best idea. That it leaves me too open, it sets me up for disappointment and yeah, I’m sure it does, but I just can’t imagine being any other way.

 I guess the point of all this was to explain something about myself. To explain why I am the way I am. Why my heart is so open, and I feel so much. Why I cling to things I'm afraid of losing. Why my anxiety takes over a lot of the time. Why I take things so personally. Why I love with all of myself. Also, why I can be cold. Why even as someone that feels so much, I sometimes can't feel at all in certain situations.

 I know I’m a rare person. I see the good in people when it doesn't seem like there is any there. I push people who I know can do better. I throw everything into caring about a person because I feel that’s what people deserve. They deserve to know they are cared about and loved no matter what. I’m extremely patient, kind and understanding. I don't get sick of things easily. I work very very hard and put my all into whatever job I have at the time. I don't judge much, who am I to judge anyone else?

 I can also be selfish. Sometimes things just need to be about me. I can obsess and dwell. I can be a bitch, sometimes as a defense mechanism and sometimes just because. I can be overwhelming at times. There are times when I drink too much. Times I put my foot in my mouth or act obnoxiously. I talk too much; I say too much. I’m nowhere near perfect. Even though some people have claimed that I am. But I try to be good. I try to be good because I know if I stop trying, I could go to a dark place very quickly.

 I have to see the hope and the good. I have to dream of better days. I have to be completely open and overbearing with my feelings because that’s the true me. I have so much inside of me, and I have to let it out and I know sometimes it can be annoying as hell and overwhelming, but I have to say how I feel. I have to believe that things can be better. I have to believe that even though terrible, horrible things happen to people every day that they can overcome those things. That the world can't possibly be as horrible as it seems. That even after all I’ve gone through, at my own hands or at the hands of others that I can overcome it all and have the life I have always wanted.

 I just want to love and be loved, unapologetically.

 I've often said it’s a miracle that I am the way I am, and I get the feeling that people don't utterly understand the weight behind that statement.

 I am a walking talking miracle.

 I may not love myself the way I should, I may abuse my body and my mind from time to time, I may be a bad friend here or there and I may tell a lie or two but the me that’s here today could be a much different person and it would have been easier to take a different path but I didn't.

 I chose the love and the hope in life and because I can’t love myself, I make sure that everyone else knows how much they are loved whether it be by me or other people.

 I make sure that I am the light because I know that the darkness is always waiting for me.

 I hope one day I can learn to love myself as much as I love everyone else. That I can show myself the respect I show others. That I can believe my own words when I say that EVERYONE deserves to be loved, that EVERYONE is worthy of greatness. That EVERYONE can have all the happiness they want as long as they reach out a grab it when it comes along. I want to be free of it all. I don’t want to be scared anymore. I want to be the strong women people see me as, the women I know I am.

 I know there is a great life out there waiting for me and I hope in being honest and finally letting all of this shit go I can find it.

Q1 : If you could write your character your way in their own movie,  what would it be called, what style would it be filmed in, and what would it be about?          

A1 :  It would probably be one of those villain origin stories, either of his life growing up; or it would be him slowly going mad - like my Memories!AU. It would be very dark, definitely an R movie, maybe even something horror-esque. As for titles? /shrug I’m no good with those.

Q2 :  What would their soundtrack/score sound like?          

A2 : Definitely piano, organ, and harpsichord based. Maybe a little violin and cello. Something soft and somewhat haunting.

Q3 :  Why did you start writing this character?          

A3 : Ha... ha... I don’t want to admit that it gave me a reason to be mean to people lmao. I’m generally a super nice person, a people pleaser, and a rug that everyone walks over. Max’s character was supposed to reflect a couple of things - if I handled my guilt worse than I have irl, and if he were the sarcastic, rude, bastard I have no heart to be.

Q4 :   What first attracted you to this character?          

A4 :  ^^ The above. Max was originally supposed to be young, naive, clumsy, and an anxiety ridden mess; and for the love of god, do not get me started on his original design. He became the opposite of those things, and Lothaire took up the mantle of his original personality.

Q5 :  Describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.

A5 :  Max is an absolute fucking asshat that can’t let things be. Let dead things be dead, kind of thing. Can’t move on. He will definitely step on his friends and family if it meant gaining more power.

Q6 :  What do you have in common with your muse?

A7 :   lmao, he probably hates me. I *am* the source of all of his angst and anger, tbh. His life has been a mess and it is literally all my fault.

A8 :   Caromont, Shango, and Amarice - definitely. All three are people who push his ability to be a better person.

A9 :  Max is one of those characters that everyday is inspiration for him - it’s just finding the motivation to write. He’s not necessarily my longest running XIV character, but he is certainly one of my favorites to RP.

A10 : A while - I lost motivation, forgot it was in my drafts, then got it done during my entire shift at work lmao.

4: 3 and 7 get in a physical fight "It's happened. We're only a year apart." Tommy slings his arm over Randy's shoulder. "It was 50-50 as to who started it. I usually lost, but only because he fights dirty." Randy elbows his brother in the ribs. "It's not MY fault you were such a lanky brat." Tommy gives Randy a noogie.

5: 5 sees 8 in a bad situation "Get your hands off of my niece." Samuel holds a gun to Rosa's attacker's head. The attacker drops Rosa from the chokehold he had her in immidiately. Samuel shoots him in the stomach. "Don't touch my family." He growls.

6: 1, 7, and 2 have to do a heist together "Alright kid, sit back and watch how its done." Tommy smiles smugly at Dozer. "Who said anything about sitting back old man?" Dozer smiles just as smugly, loading his pistol. "I've already picked the lock and knocked out two guards, quit your challenge pissing and hurry up!" Hope calls back.

7: 6 finds out an embarrassing secret about 4 "Had I known you had to sleep with my brother I wouldn't of even put my hand on your shoulder. I'm sorry if I bothered you." Arnie steps a respectful distance from her. "I hope I haven't made you uncomfortable." "I'm fine." Jess says plainly.

8: 3 and 5 swap bodies "So THIS is what it's like to be tall." Randy in Sammy's body leans on Sammy in Randy's body's shoulder. "Don't get used to it *little* brother." Sammy in Randy's body snarks.

9: 8, 4, and 7 go on a fantasy quest together "A theif, a rogue, and a bard walk into a bar..." Tommy jokes as the part enters the local pub. Jess just rolls her eyes, Rosa facepalms.

10: dodgeball, 1-4 vs. 5-8 - who wins? "Take out Randall immidietly." Sammy whispers to his team. "Cake." Rosa and Tommy speak in unison. "He's as good as out." Arnie smiles.

"Hey kid, this is the one time I condone you hitting your girlfriend." Randall punches Dozer in the Shoulder. "She's my first target." Dozer smiles. Throughout the fight, Hope and Jess are unhittable, and eventually team 1-4 wins.

11: 1 has to teach 6 their best skill "You already know how to pick a lock... how about where to hit someone to knock them on their ass immidiately?" Dozer sits across from Arnie pondering. "I have a pretty good idea how to do that already, but I am curious to see what you can do." Arnie eyes Dozer carefully.

12: 2 vs. 3: bake-off Terrance, the family cook, stares in awe at the two desserts sitting in front of him. Hope stands by a canoli cake, beautifully crafted and deathly delicious. Randall stands next to a chocolate fudge cake, when cut into it oozes hot melted chocolate. "I can't... I can't pick!" Terrance can't stop looking between the two cakes.

13: 4 and 5 do a podcast(/otherwise create content) together "Why did you give me a chance? Why not just leave me to your brother?" Jess quizzes Samuel, somewhat pointedly. "You.... You look like someone I gave a chance to a long time ago." Samuel sighs.

14: 7 and 8 have to share a bed "You're worse than your mother." Tommy grumbles on his side of the bed, cold and with no blankets. "Try harder." Rosa grumbles back sleepily.

15: 3, 5, and 6 are in a pop group together "Tommy and Sammy used to do gigs at bars and shit, but it wasn't pop." Randall shuts down the idea instantly. "My voice doesn't work for pop music." Arnie looks away, scratching at his throat. Samuel nods in silent agreement with Arnie.

16: 1 and 4 are dance partners "Look, however you dance, it CAN'T be as bad as Rosa. She has two left feet." Dozer holds his hand out to Jess. "I kind of want to see that now." Jess smiles, taking his hand. They dance suprisingly gracefully. Rosa is watching from the bar, slightly miffed at Dozer, slightly jealous of Jess, and very impressed with both of them.

17: 8 has to do whatever 2 says for a day "I already have to do whatever she says. She's my mother!" Rosa says while scrubbing the dishes. "Damn straight." Hope smiles from the doorway.

18: 7 and 2 are trapped under a collapsed building together. "About ten minutes till Sammy gets the CAT up here..." Tommy scoots closer to his wife. "At least thirty until they get through to that door." Hope scoots closer to her husband. *YEah lets leave them alone.* 19: 5 and 1 swap jobs for a day "You're Dozer's brother right?" Samuel awkwardly asks Digger. "How did you lose that bet again?" Digger smiles just as awkwardly. "Long story kid. C'mon, I think Slip is paging me." Sammy and Digger walk off to guard Slip for the day.

"This is absolutely insane." Dozer growls over the stack of paperwork that came in just that morning. "Welcome to our world kid, here let me give you a hand." Tommy pulls a chair up to the other side of the desk of Dozer. "Would you help your brother or are you piting me old man?" Dozer snarks. "I'd help him, but I also pity you." Tommy Snarks back.

20: 3, 2, and 7 have to spend day in a small room together, no lights, no books, just eachother and the dark. "You two better not be getting frisky over there!" Randy growls into the dark at his brother and sister in law. "Care to join?" Tommy asks joikingly, followed by a  *HRK* Noise. "You punch him in the gut?" Randall asks. "The balls actually. Want me to punch him in the gut?" Hope asks back. "Please do." Randall smiles, and another *HRK* sound follows. "I love you both, but fuuuck you." Tommy gasps.

1. Their physical weak spots

His shoulders, hips, and ribs. He’s particularly bony around these parts, and a good hit might catch him off guard or even put him out of commission. Luckily, Rashoumon guards these areas well.

Gin. He won’t admit it, but if he had to choose between himself and Gin, he’d choose Gin every time. He’ll sabotage and screw over whoever he needs to if it means Gin will be okay. Hell, he’d leave the Port Mafia if that’s what she wanted.

3. Scars or painful spots

He bruises very easily in general, but his shoulders have some old scars. His arms are covered in quite a few, as well as a particularly nasty one over his stomach.

4. Best places to kiss on their body

The nape of his neck, right where his spine starts. The cheek. The hip.

Korean Dramas.

6. Their vices (physical or emotional)

He picks at everything. Scabs, blemished, every possible thing on his body he can dig his nails into. He’ll pluck hairs from his arms, even.

Every failed mission, the day Dazai left the Port Mafia, and when he was ten years old, the night he lost Gin in the dark and ran everywhere hoping to find her. He shouted until his throat was sore. When he found her, they curled up together and he breathed a deep sigh of relief.

9. Humiliating memories

He’s embarrassed by praise, interestingly enough. Chuuya makes an effort to praise in front of everyone and only criticize in private, so Akutagawa is constantly burning from the tips of his ears as the redhead compliments his fighting technique.

10. Fears/phobias

He’s genuinely terrified of losing his loved ones - it’s why he makes such an effort to keep Gin safe, even if it means keeping her at a distance. It’s why he was so broken when Dazai decided he wasn’t good enough.

11. Bad or petty habits

Every once in a while, when someone pisses him off he kills them. He’s working on it. Atsushi is taking him to murderer’s anonymous.

12. Grudges and vendettas

He’s working on how harshly he holds them, but he has a huge issue with Atsushi (obviously), Dazai, and the boy at his favourite shop who took that last fig bar.

13. What gets them flustered

Compliments or praise, being one-upped, and PDA - with both himself and others.

14. Ingrained habits/forces of habit

He cannot stop picking at his skin. It’s a nervous tick, for sure. He’s learned that it’s best not to show emotion too on the surface, so he’s been trained to deal with them subtly.

15. What it takes to make them cry

Despite popular belief, Akutagawa has very strong emotions. He just doesn’t cry easily. He feels everything on the extreme end of the spectrum - either immense happiness or immense devastation. The only time he has ever cried was when he thought Gin had been killed on a mission - and then again, when she was revealed to be safe.

16. Dark secrets/’skeletons in the closet’

Akutagawa sleeps with rashoumon on - but that’s not the part he keeps a secret. He likes to cuddle with her, for no reason other than it brings him immense comfort.

17. Regrets

Pushing Dazai away, as he interprets it. While he actually had no influence on whether or not Dazai stayed, (Dazai honestly didn’t care what Akutagawa did or thought) he feels partially responsible for Dazai’s departure, and wishes he had been a better subordinate in his eyes.

18. Things they’ll never admit

He spends his days off in art museums and he’s fascinated by photography.

19. People they’ve hurt or indirectly killed, and how it affected them

Saying that he never hurt Kyouka would be such a piece of bullshit. As an Akutagawa stan, it is my duty to say that what he did to her was horrible, and it took him quite some time to realize that. As a result of Dazai’s treatment, he assumed such abuse was the proper way to make her stronger. He was, obviously, very wrong. He’s not sure how to breach the topic, but he makes little gestures to express his remorse and the realization that he didn’t really help her at all. It was through Kyouka that he first learned he needed to change.

20. What-ifs/Alternate Timelines

Let’s all just imagine that Chuuya had taken in Akutagawa instead. He raised him to be a proper subordinate, but where Dazai was coldness and pain, cruelty and brutality, Chuuya was fierce, just as full of praise as he was of criticism. I like to imagine that, while this wouldn’t fix all of his problems, it would certainly help.

21. Turning points in their life

Meeting Atsushi. Meeting someone who broke the cycle of pain and abuse and hatred. Meeting a boy with eyes like a moonlit night sky, with a smile as soft as a kitten’s fur, with a heart as full and gentle as a bursting balloon, and a spirit fiercer and brighter than the sun itself.

Dazai, for better and for worse. Chuuya, Mori, Gin. Atsushi, most significantly.

okay here’s some messy timeline headcanon shit:

0 - 10 :

born when eggsy was eight years old.

lives with michelle, eggsy and dean. doesn’t have her own room until she’s five - almost six - and they move, either slept in her parents’ room, the living room but p much shared a room with eggsy.

she starts realizing unconsciously / subconsciously shit is off when she’s about 5 and starts asking questions

until she’s about 9 / 10 she tries real hard to be a good kid and doesn’t realize what’s going on is solely dean’s fault. his abuse towards her during that time is mainly emotional and verbal and based on neglect and insults. she’s not the main target of physical outbursts but every now and then she’s had to walk around with bruises even back then.

attitude changes when she really gets what’s happening around then. she stops calling him dad / daddy and starts calling him Dean.

10 - 20 :

grades really start slipping, her interest in learning and doing things for school drastically sinks.

begins actively picking fights with and talking back to Dean which results in his physical abuse towards her to become more frequent after eggsy leaves for his Marine training when daisy was about 13 - 14.

eggsy comes back eventually. it somehow helps the situation but also not.

joins her school’s hockey team ( originally so she has somewhere else to be / something to do and not be home ) when she’s 14 and she’s really good at it. it works out for a good two to almost three years until she gets in a fight with another teammate and gets kicked out of the team.

loser her virginity briefly after her 14th birthday to a guy three years older than her.

it’s when she starts getting into alcohol / drugs also. it’s going to be a big issue.

starts working at Odeon Cinema at almost 15 to earn some money, starts waitressing at The White Horse at 16.

eggsy disappears for Kingsman training when she’s 15 - 16 and with things already on edge, they get worse again like they did during his Marine training.

she starts going to Kickboxing training a few months before she turned 15.

she got pregnant while eggsy was gone and had an abortion. she didn’t tell anyone.

when Michelle gets the call from Roxy, she lets her mum lock her in the bathroom while Michelle locks herself in her bedroom. daisy too was affected by Valentine’s sim cards, reaction violent enough to almost get herself out of the bathroom and the two of them almost at each other’s throats. 

legally changed her own name to Unwin a month after she turned 16, taking care of all document changes etc on her own. didn’t tell anyone she was gonna do it or that she did it unless it came up and she would correct someone.

briefly after, Eggsy returns and moves with them into their new place before she turns 17.

don’t fucking ask me where she was during TGC idk i’ll figure it out.

picks up her job at Hotel Peach when she’s 18, working there two or three days per week. making her working three jobs.

20 - 30 :

Down the stretch they come! No, it’s not the Kentucky Derby — today, Kentuckians will vote for governor in their party primaries. Incumbent Gov. Matt Bevin will likely win renomination in the Republican contest despite being incredibly unpopular. But Democrats have a competitive three-way race between state House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins, state Attorney General Andy Beshear and former state auditor Adam Edelen. Beshear appears to be in the lead, but it’s unclear how big that lead really is and whether a Democrat can even still win a general election in a state that is now so deeply red.

Until Kentucky’s 2015 gubernatorial race, Democrats held most major statewide offices, and the GOP had won the governorship only once in the past 44 years. But Bevin won handily in 2015, and in 2016 Republicans captured the state house for the first time since the 1920s, giving them full control of state government.1 Thus, state politics now more closely align with Kentucky’s preferences in national races — the GOP presidential nominee has won Kentucky by at least 15 percentage points going back to 2000, and in 2016, President Trump won the state by 30 points.

All the same, Bevin (assuming he wins tonight) may still face a tough re-election fight next November. And that’s because he’s currently the most unpopular governor in the country, based on Morning Consult’s approval data for the first quarter of 2019.2 As you can see in the chart below, Bevin’s disapproval rating has been above 50 percent since the second quarter of 2018, which might have to do with his repeated run-ins with teachers, public sector unions and even his own party.

In April 2018, for example, Bevin vetoed legislation that raised taxes to expand public education spending only to have the Republican-controlled legislature override his veto while teachers rallied outside of the state capitol. He’s also made controversial comments, like when he said school closures allowing teachers to rally at the capitol may have caused children to be “sexually assaulted” or “physically harmed” because they couldn’t attend school.

Bevin’s approval numbers are even worse when you consider just how Republican-leaning Kentucky is. He had the worst approval rating of any governor relative to his state’s partisan lean,3 according to my colleague Nathaniel Rakich’s “Popularity Above Replacement Governor” rankings.

A big part of Bevin’s problem is that he’s struggling with his base. Morning Consult found in that poll that just 50 percent of Republicans approved of him while 37 percent disapproved. Compare that to the 86 percent of Kentucky Republicans who approved of Trump, and it’s understandable that Bevin is now trying to tie himself to the president, hoping to boost his numbers.

One bit of positive news for Bevin is that he avoided a high-profile primary challenge when U.S. Rep. James Comer — who Bevin beat by just 83 votes for the GOP nomination in 2015 — decided not to run. However, Bevin didn’t escape a primary challenger altogether. State Rep. Robert Goforth is running against him and even loaned his campaign $750,000 (as of early May, Bevin had raised a little over $1 million). But Goforth doesn’t seem to pose a serious risk to Bevin, at least not according to the scant polling we have: A survey from earlier in May from the GOP pollster Cygnal found Bevin leading Goforth 56 percent to 18 percent. Still, 32 percent of likely GOP primary voters said they had an unfavorable view of Bevin in that poll, so Goforth’s share of the primary vote on Tuesday could be an indicator of how strong or weak Bevin is among the Republican faithful.

But today’s main event is the Democratic race. The front-runner is Andy Beshear, the first-term attorney general and political scion whose father Steve preceded Bevin as governor. The younger Beshear squeaked out a narrow 0.2-point victory in 2015, with Bevin winning by 9 points at the top of the ballot. Since they took office, the two have been at loggerheads over many issues, including education, health care and pensions. These fights are one of Beshear’s main selling points in the Democratic primary, but Adam Edelen is running to Beshear’s left, hoping his support for abortion rights, decriminalizing marijuana and renewable energy will attract Democratic voters. And on Saturday, the state’s largest newspaper, the Courier-Journal, endorsed Edelen.

Edelen, the former state auditor, has also been on the offensive, attacking Beshear for his connection to a former aide who was convicted of bribery (however, there is no evidence Beshear knew about these activities). Edelen’s upstart campaign has also been aided by an influx of cash from his wealthy running mate, Gill Holland, and Better Future PAC, an outside group backing Edelen (primarily funded by Holland’s mother-in-law).

Meanwhile, state House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins is running to the right of Beshear and Edelen on social issues, claiming that his anti-abortion views and support for coal are more likely to appeal to the rural parts of the state where Democrats have been decimated in recent years.

Beshear currently seems to be ahead, but the only data we have are competing internal polls. Additionally, the two most recent surveys are from mid-April, so it’s hard to know if things have changed substantially in the past month. For what it’s worth, Edelen’s campaign found Beshear in first with 43 percent of the vote, Edelen in second with 23 percent and Adkins in third with 22 percent. Meanwhile, Beshear’s internal poll put him at 44 percent compared to 17 percent for Adkins and 16 percent for Edelen. So Beshear appears to be the polling front-runner, but a win by Edelen or Adkins shouldn’t be ruled out; internal polls are notoriously unreliable, the polling we do have is old and three-way races can be incredibly fluid.

Looking ahead to the general election in November, election handicappers view Kentucky as a toss-up or leaning in the GOP’s direction. Still, it’s possible a Democrat could take back the governor’s mansion. It’s early, but the pollster Mason-Dixon found Beshear up 48 percent to 40 percent in a Bevin-Beshear matchup in December. So if Bevin remains as unpopular as he is now, there could be an opening. Then again, the Bluegrass State’s politics are pretty darn red.

He got here yesterday, and I didn’t even know. He obviously didn’t even want me to know. Otherwise, he would’ve visited me, right? 

It just doesn’t make sense. Why wouldn’t Killian want to see me? He loves me, I know that without a doubt. He told me many times and I can feel it 24/7. He wouldn’t lie to me - especially not about loving me. He can’t fake his feelings for me. They just run too deep.

Not that he could lie to be about this since we’re true love. It was confirmed by that door in the Underworld.

The only reasonable explanation for everything is, that he saw me with Carter. But where? Please tell me it was only the Sheriff’s station. And not anytime in my home. I don’t remember much from last night due to quite some amount of wine. Alcohol mixed with my depressing thoughts yesterday isn’t a good combination, so whatever happened, it can’t be good. 

All I can hope is, that Killian didn’t come anywhere near our house.

I don’t wish that on him. I already hate, that he had to see Carter calling me disgusting pet names and kissing my cheek. And just in general the fact, that he knows I’ve been dating Carter for the past few years.

I hurt him enough, so I want to spare him any extra pain.

I never should’ve tried to make my mother happy. Now all of this is coming back and messing with my relationship. 

And the worse thing is, that my mother still seems to think, that Carter is what’s best for me. She’s messing with Killian’s head and his heart. I seriously need to pay her a visit and set her mind straight! She can’t just act like Killian being back is a bad thing. How crappy is that? Wishing your daughter’s boyfriend dead? Or even just wanting any good person to be dead!

I need to get her to stop talking like that before she gets her wish and breaks us up!

She’s causing enough trouble already. I can’t let it go on any longer. We’re going to have a nice little chat. As soon as I fixed this problem she caused.

Killian isn’t even back for a whole day, and we’re already fighting. That never used to be us. Well, except the Dark Ones phase, but I don’t count that. That wasn’t either of our fault. It was the darkness.

I just can’t take this anymore. Fighting with Killian is the last thing I want. It’s exhausting. It breaks me. I have to fix this.

I can’t lose him. I’d never forgive myself, if he’d walk out our door today. I just got him back.

I look up at Killian. He’s facing me with sad eyes.

“You’ve been here since yesterday? Why didn’t you tell me? Where were you?” My voice is still weak from the crying. I’m sure these won’t be the last tears for today, either. But this has to be done now. I can’t let fear control me.

I’m the Savior after all. I fought a dragon and countless other villains. I can do this!

I scoot closer to Killian again, needing his warmth to get me through this conversation.

He sighs and takes a deep breath.

“I got back yesterday evening. I went to the Sheriff’s station to check up on you, but Carter arrived a moment before me. I followed him. At first, I still had every intention to walk inside, but he gave you those flowers and hugged you. You looked so happy. I didn’t want to take that away from you. I didn’t want to complicate your life, so I went back to my ship.” He tells me, looking at me completely broken. His eyes search mine for forgiveness.

I caress his cheek with my hand in order to comfort him. Also, to tell him, that everything will be alright - that we will be alright.

Luckily he only visited the station. Good.

That is until I realise something else is off.

If Killian thought I was so happy, why did he come to my house this morning? Did he for a second accept, that I don’t have any feelings for Carter?

“And this morning you just suddenly changed your mind about wanting to see me? Not that I’m complaining, it’s just weird.” I ask.

He takes my hand and looks down at it. Squeezing it as if he’s trying to get strength from it. What the hell happened?

It can’t be that bad, can it?

“Actually, no. I didn’t. I’m sorry, Swan, but I intended to leave town. I saw you moved on and I didn’t want to reopen old wounds, so I thought it was for the best.”

My hand slips from his face. The tears spill once again.

Everyone always left me. First my parents put me through a magical wardrobe. Every single foster family I ever had threw me out like trash. Neal let me go to prison like I never meant anything to him. I probably never did.

I found my parents again, but it was too late. They just replaced me with my brother. At least that’s what it felt like ever since mom revealed her darkest secret. If it wasn’t for that, it’d be normal to have a little sibling.

Graham died and left me with that. 

Walsh turned out to be a fucking flying monkey. On top of that, he tried to kill me.

Even Henry sort of left me by starting to favour Regina more and more.

No one ever stayed with me. I was never enough for anyone.

I always believed, that Killian was the rare exception. But now he intended to leave me, too. 

That’s why he keeps acting like I’m in love with Carter, doesn’t he? He still wants to leave. He realized, that he’s better off without me. 

I really am still that lost little girl, who doesn’t matter. Apparently, I have some big issues.

I can’t even manage to get my true love to love me forever.

Am I really that unlovable? Am I just that unfixable?

I’m sobbing hard, and suddenly Killian’s arms are snugly around me. He holds me in his arms, hand in my hair and kisses my cheek repeatedly. I want to push him away. I want to be angry with him, but I just can’t. Not physically and not emotionally.

Killian is my anchor. He’s the one person, that can always comfort me. He saved me in more ways than one, even though I’m supposed to be the Savior. I just can’t let go of him.

Hell, I spent five years grieving him and it didn’t get better for even a percent. People always say that time heals, but I never recovered a bit from losing Killian. 

He pulls away from me a little, keeping me close with his hooked arm. He looks at me with sadness. There are tears in his eyes, too. He puts his hand on my cheek and starts to talk, kissing every inch of my face, except my lips, between words.

“I’m sorry, Swan. I’m so sorry. But please understand, that none of this is your fault. I didn’t want to leave – not ever. You’re the only thing in my life, that makes sense to me. Of course, I didn’t want to lose you. I just thought you loved him. I see now, that that was wrong. I was wrong.”

I lie my head back on his shoulder.

I continue sobbing into Killian’s chest, but the sobs begin to fade, eventually. His arms always have that effect on me.

He’s great at comforting me, but that doesn’t mean I forgive him. 

I pull away and see that Killian still has tears in his eyes, too. So, I didn’t imagine them earlier. Besides that, his whole gaze just screams fear. He thinks this might break us, doesn’t he? Well, I won’t let that happen.

“Yes, you were wrong.” I say, my tone cold as ice. “You let jealousy get the best of you. Why would you do that, Killian? We’ve been confirmed true love! So, why would I want to be with anyone but you? How could you think, that anyone could compare to you even in the slightest?” 

“I’m sorry, love. I never should’ve doubted you and I promise, that from now on, I’ll trust you completely.” Killian takes my hand carefully. I let him and interlace our fingers. “And I won’t ever even consider leaving again. Luckily, your lad talked some sense into me before I did something, I’d regret.”

I raise my head in confusion. “Wait. What did you just say?”

“Henry came by this morning to check on my ship. He saw me and well, convinced my that I should stay here. If it wasn’t for your lad, I’d probably be far away by now.” He looks down again, obviously embarrassed and sad at the same time.

I’m still mad at him, maybe even more because he really would have left this morning. He doesn’t seem to make this up. 

But I put that aside for now, and give his hand a squeeze. My hand touches his cheek softly. He automatically leans into my touch. It’s still like second nature to us. It’s like the last five years never happened. Maybe that’s what true love is all about.

“I’m glad you didn’t leave.” I smile at him. His eyes meet mine. They’re still filled with sadness. He seems to be as angry with himself as I am deep down. He’s beating himself up about this.

Good. Regret means, that he won’t do it again. It means that he really is the person, that I’ve missed for five years. The person I love.

I know now more than ever, that we’ll get through this.

1. Do they have any sort of physical condition or mark that impacts their daily life? (chronic disease, deep scar, disability)Kit has CVID, so he’s pretty perpetually sickly. He also has untreated depression that’s part of the cause of his awful drinking habits.Wren has anxiety, asthma, and IBS-D, all of which pretty well hinder his attempts to keep up with and interact with his peers. He can’t really run around and play, and he gets scared super easily, which just makes his IBS worse.

2. What is their pain tolerance? Do they close their eyes and block it out, or go into a full blown panic?Kit can tolerate a fair amount. For the most part, he’s very used to tattoo/piercing pain, but long sessions of linework can overwhelm him. Pain from illness, however, like sore throat/stomachache/headache tends to hurt more and make him more irritable.Wren doesn’t have the best pain tolerance. Pain tends to make him nervous, cause chest pain = asthma attack, and stomach pain = IBS attack. Which (ironically) both often lead to panic attacks.

3. How long do they typically take to recover from illness or injury compared to average?They’re both quite frail and sickly, but Kit especially takes ages to recover.

4. What are the most telltale signs that they’re sick or injured?Kit gets extra bitchy. Like more genuinely mean instead of lighthearted mocking.Wren will be more fussy and sensitive than usual. If he’s around family, he’ll let them know he’s feeling bad, but if he’s at school, he’ll try to tough it out rather than draw attention to himself.

5. What is their response to their friends or loved ones in pain?Depending on the severity, Kit will either tease them, or try (and usually fail) to be helpful.Wren will offer help and comfort as best he can.

He’ll run off to somewhere like a bathroom or an empty hallway and then just sob. If he’s at home, he’ll seek out Jace or his mom for comfort.

Most of the time, he considers himself to be pretty decent, but on low days, he’s all too aware of just how much he doesn’t have his shit together. He’s horribly unstable.Wren has, at best, a very tenuous and fragile stability. A gentle sneeze could throw it off. He’s aware that he’s pretty unstable.

Alistair does think he’s smart, but he also knows that Kit is way less chill than he lets on. His less-close friends fall for the ruse completely.Wren doesn’t really have a ‘group,’ the only people he voluntarily interacts with are family, and they know him inside and out.

Is there an antagonist or someone who would like to see/make your OC suffer?Violet is still a bit of an issue for Kit, cause they have a lot of the same upper-class acquaintances, who she’s been talking shit about him to. His real problem, though, is his father, who is an actual physical threat with way less decency and restraint than Violet.Wren has lots of issues with people at school. His schoolmates fall into two categories - those that ignore him, and those that actively bully him.

16. Do they have any regrets in their life?Kit regrets most of his existence tbh. He feels like he should’ve done something to protect his mother (even though she (probably) died of natural causes, and he was too young to have helped either way. He feels like an idiot and a failure academically because he just kinda gave up on school when he started having memories issues. He thinks he’s too dependent on his father (he definitely is), and should’ve tried to move out and get used to being a functioning adult (he should’ve), but is in no state to do it now. Wren doesn’t really regret much, save for the occasional ill-advised snack that fucks up his tummy. Most of his problems are outside his control, so he’s just kinda trying to cope with them.

17. What is something they dislike about either themselves or the world?Kit hates how spoiled and dependant he is.Wren wishes he weren’t so nervous and awkward.

18. Is there a situation that might make it impossible for them to relax?Kit is always on full alert when his father’s around. He has trouble sleeping sometimes when he knows Reggie is home.Wren cannot handle being out in public. Crowds and strangers freak him out.

He’s sick so often that he’ll try to brush it off it it’s not serious, but then they’ll get worse cause he’s not taking care of himself.Wren is pretty good about just staying home if he doesn’t feel well in the morning, but if symptoms come on during the day, he’ll try to power through and that never goes well.

28. How sympathetic is their boss when they have to take a day off? Is this a source of comfort or stress for them?Neither of them have a boss, but Wren’s teachers tend to be understanding, since he has a doctor’s note explaining that he’s a sickly fucker.

Named after one of the greatest love poems in history to commemorate her parents love for each other and their precious daughter, Annabel grew up knowing everything but love. The Nash family was nothing more than a troupe of actors putting on a show for their hometown. On the surface they were the perfect American family; class, wealth, and enough love to go around for everyone. But behind closed doors the family was anything but classy and loving. Annabel grew up almost never seeing her parents except for when they had work events or town events and needed to show off for everyone. Sean and Claudia were set on becoming world famous doctors before their little girl came into the picture, and of course, that ruined both of their dreams. That didn’t stop them from spending every waking moment from the time she was born working though. Annabel knew she wasn’t in the plan. She knew she was supposed to be the son Sean always wanted and she knew her mother never wanted her at all. Not only had they told her multiple times since she was old enough to understand but their actions only echoed their harsh words. Annabel spent the majority of her time alone or with nannies who could barely speak English. In the rare occasion that both of her parents were home at the same time, it was like world war 3 for the girl. The constant fighting had become so common for her that nothing she did could drown out the sound of her mother shrill voice that often sent chills down her spine. Growing up unwanted and unloved left Annabel confused and vulnerable as a young teen. She began looking for love in all the wrong places, usually starting with some older boys bed. Not only was she looking for love by doing this but she was always trying to get the attention of her parents by acting out and committing one of the worst sins in Christianity. But not even running around with older boys all hours of the night granted her an ounce of attention. Eventually she gave up chasing her parents attention and just focused on finding someone who would care about her. And she found that in Dean Grace, her ex-best friends boyfriend. He was charismatic, understanding, above all else, loving. It didn’t take long for Annabel to fall head over heels for the boy and eventually betray her closest friend in the worst way imaginable. Naturally her whole life came crashing down on her. She was suddenly the villain of New Quinton. Everyone hated her for what she’d done to Addision, the most innocent girl in town. It didn’t matter that Dean was the one who cheated, he was forgiven by the town and all assumed that Annabel had seduced him because of her reputation around town but that couldn’t have been further from the truth and because Dean never said otherwise, no one believed her when she tried telling her side. As a result, Annabel was left alone with Dean and no one else which was great for her at first. Finally, after years of loneliness and never knowing love, she had that and she wasn’t going to let go of that for anything. But of course, like everything else in Annabel’s life, nothing good lasts for too long. The boy left her to go back to Addision and Annabel was left destroyed. Her entire world came crashing down on her. What had she done so wrong to chase the one person who loved her back into the arms of someone else? What was so bad about Annabel Nash that just made her so unlovable, so undesirable? She was a girl who had too much love in her heart and no one to share it with and it was killing her from the inside out.

Self-destruction became Annabel’s way of life after the break up. Sure, she always had destructive tendencies but now she was out of control with little to no regards for herself.  She dropped out of high school, locked herself away in her apartment, and began using drugs. Since the age of 11 Annabel had been drinking but by the age of 16 she was a full blown alcoholic. She loved the way it made her feel warm, safe, and loved. It was a security blanket of sorts but now not even that was doing the trick for her anymore. At a college party, Annabel was introduced to a man named Francois. He was dreamy and Annabel fell for him instantly. He was a rich socialite from Italy who was able to show her all the finer things in life and before long Annabel was under his full control. Life after her attempt never got any better and a huge part of her is still mad at Marcy for calling 9-1-1. It wasn’t until her attempt that suddenly everyone cared about her but she was used to being everyone’s favorite punching back that she kept everyone at an arms length and called them out for being fake. No one cared before, why would the care now? It wasn’t long before she was back to her old habits and the more people tried to intervene, the nastier and more malicious towards them she began. While Annabel leads a pretty secretive life, or tries too, there are some things she’s kept so hidden in the depths of her memory that even she has begun to forget that it happened. When she was at her absolute worse, Annabel was meeting with clients and not using protection. As a result she became pregnant with one of New Quinton’s city council members bastard child at just 19 years old. Being in rehab, Annabel learned new ways to use that most people don’t notice and she’s been secretly using and escorting every day for the last 6 months.
