A single clawed paw digs into Sora’s shoe as he walks by a particularly unassuming box. It’s dragged out a little and mrows in protest, proceeded to do everything it can to beat the hell out of Sora’s offending shoe. Slap! Slap! Slap!
Content that it has been avenged, it proceeds to groom itself as if nothing had just happened. A single brown eye glances toward Sora, and it pauses, almost like it’s just realized that the shoe was connected to a PERSON.
The dark grey cat turns to dart back into the box it had been resting inside.
Unprompted || ALWAYS accepting!
Sora wasn't really a "cat" person. He didn't dislike them! He thought they were cute! But he just preferred dogs, and as a result, knew more about them and their behavior.
So as he was strolling down the sidewalk, scrolling through his phone to find a song he liked, he almost tripped, the sudden extra weight on his foot disorienting him. "What the- GAH!"
Tumblr media
He jumped, wholly unprepared to see a furry little animal pop out at him. He wouldn't have minded so much- if the little furball hadn't started attacking him. So he backed up uncertainly, flinching to try to avoid a swipe from those deadly claws!
"H-hey! I didn't do anything!" He protested in Japanese, bumping against the sharp corner of the building behind him. He didn't want to hurt the poor thing! But he also didn't really want to be scratched. He was wearing capris, so a swipe would really hurt. He was convinced the thing was one step away from jumping up and attacking him outright.
Thankfully, it seemed to lose interest, turning to cleaning itself up after that harrowing battle. Sora relaxed, dropping his arms and the grocery bag, and apparently getting the feline's attention. It stared up at him, then darted back into the box.
Sora tilted his head slightly as he considered it, then slowly crouched down. He sat on his haunches, arms crossed over his knees. "Are you a stray?"
It hadn't been wearing a collar. Sora could only assume it was because the little guy didn't have an owner. He reached into his bag and brought out a small bag of potato chips. Opening it up, he carefully took out a few chips, and put them near the opening of the box. Putting the chip bag back in the grocery bag, he brought out his coke bottle and twisted it open, pouring a tiny puddle of the liquid to the side of the chips. He didn't know if cats liked chips and coke or not, but he couldn't in good conscious leave it with nothing. Just because cats weren't his favorite didn't mean he wouldn't pity a poor creature in need.

Heims Festus Begins!
In the early hours of the morning, as the clock strikes eight, the speakers begin to sing. There's the sound of bells singing out through the morning air
 and then a woman begins to sing. It's cheesy, cheery holiday music. As people begin to stir and look out their windows across all of the islands, the ground begins to shake. Poorly hidden beneath the cheer of the holiday music, an earsplitting screech erupts from the cracks in the ground.
The situation becomes blaringly clear to any onlookers. Anyone close to the site at the time is in the line of fire, people left cowering and crumbling to the ground in terror to try and hide from the oncoming barrage. The tremors hadn't been the cause of an earthquake, a volcano, or even a sinkhole. Beneath Keposis was the beast's lair, and now they had finally clawed free. Incubators slightly larger than their original forms begun to erupt from the cracks. They're furry and brown, dressed promptly like little deer. They're a little over a foot tall, each of them clad with little bells that jingled with every step. Maniacal laughter fills the air as they trample over any bystanders, even stepping on their own as they erupt from the cracks and flood the streets. This isn't even central to Keposis in itself- it spreads over Mistellein, Plantarium, Salus- it seems wherever people reside, these little creatures have been dispatched. On the main island, a party begins. Where the fountain once stood, the marble and brick had cracked as a stage rose from the ground. On it stood another Incubator, slightly larger than average. They stand alone despite the flood around the stage, as if unaffected. "Ahem
atooo~" they say into the mic, bouncing gently in place.
As if to put a temporary halt to the chaos around them, the skies darken. There's a flash of light to mark the arrival of the guides, Sora the first to appear with his key raised high. He lands on the stage as the other guides drop through the gate alongside him. Zhongli stands firm and proud, Maki landing third and assessing the land before Whitebeard shakes the ground with his own landing. "Attention!" Sora cries, and a meteor follows them from their opening- when it strikes the ground, the chaos around is forced to a temporary pause. The monsters that erupted from the ground are forced to pause at the site of their landing. Sora is the first to grab the mic from the incubator, who looks about at the new arrivals in shock, stomping its little foot as its performance is rudely interrupted.
"Attention- people of Keposis! I know it doesn't look good right now- I know this is scary! We need to work together to handle this, if we don't cooperate, it'll only make it worse. Cheer's arrival is going to set things out of control for a while. There's too much good! Keposis is run on emotions- and that means all this good is very, very bad! I'm sorry we weren't able to warn you. If we could have- we would! But right now- we NEED everyone to listen. Listen carefully! If you don't, you could get really, really badly hurt. We have a plan!"
The boy holds the mic out to Zhongli, next. Many a millennia of existence, of leading, of building a nation gives Zhongli a sense of confidence when it comes to preparing people for war; preparing people for something daunting and unavoidable. But it never gets easier, regardless of the experience, Zhongli never finds it easier to inform a population about an ongoing disaster. "Sora is correct; cooperation is a must within this time, to ensure we all come out of this and keep things balanced. With so much cheer and positivity, there is a need for negativity. The world feeds off of the emotions of those within it, and so I request each of you, to whatever capability you have, do something to bring forth negativity either within yourself or those around you. However big or small, we can do what is necessary to keep this world functioning, and to make it out of this moment alive." Zhongli nods solemnly, and offers the mic out to the next guide.
The festive cheer of the season is infectious, bleeding into the homes of the residents of Keposis-- even going as far as the Island of Salus. December was never a good month to be a sorcerer back home, even the ever-so-romantic December 24th had history to it that predated the aspirations of the one who cut her family line short. Much of Maki Zenin's time had been spent investigating deep within the cracks and crevasses, going far beyond where any resident would feel comfortable exploring or being allowed to reach. After relaying information to her fellow guides when returning from the depths, it was a quick decision to limit the intrigue of cheer to come to better contain the situation and look for possible solutions
 that which seemed to work well until a massive Pine tree split open from the crack in Plantarium; decorated with garland, popcorn, and large ornaments heavy and large enough to crush a village. The headache that followed barely allowed Maki time to answer the concerns of the residents before needing to regroup with the other guides, this were getting out of control fast. Maki waited for Zhongli to finish his remark, clearing her throat before administering her advice into the microphone. "Too much good being bad has a fix, first ten people to cause chaos large enough to stave off the scented pinecones gets a free week pass on not going to therapy. I'm the judge, try not to get anyone killed. I know there's a few of you out there who can topple cities with ease." She offers the mic out, holding it upwards to offer it to their final guide. Whitebeard takes the stage with his looming presence.
The strongest man in the world. The man closest to the one piece. An emperor of the sea.
He who could break the world.
All those fancy titles, Look where that got you

Despite everything you manage to procure throughout your long life, from unimaginable wealth, power, to a love so strong it keeps you kicking far after your expiration date. You could never do anything against man's greatest enemy. You have been weathered by time. It left you weak. You knew your prime was long behind you, but to see just how much of a difference some decades could make right before your eyes was disheartening at least.
Tragic at most.
Though it was always bound to be right? Life at sea is not kind, you have seen your fair share of tragedy, of pain, and loss. Sometimes all so close together coping with it was impossible so you simply kept moving.
Now
 even if everything is different, its all the same. Here you are with all this power at your finger tips, yet both from age and situations far beyond your control you can do.
Nothing, other than parting words. Your bitterness clings to your voice, your frustration bleeding out through you. "GUARARARA. as far as plans this could all be much more thought out but well. What can you do? To those that cant handle the heat, to those that are not cut out for what is to come, there is no shame in seeking shelter. There is no shame in prioritizing your safety. But to those that have strength and are more than willing to use it? Whatever mess you make we can clean up. To my sons and daughters. I'm sorry we could not do more, the failures of a father should never fall onto the laps of his children."
~~~~
With the mood set into something somber, Cheer looks in awe at the four that had stormed the stage. Cracks can be heard as the petrification begins to break, the creatures about to burst free. Sora takes the mic again. "It's awful, I know. But if we don't do something about this, the world will be destroyed. Contribute to the joy, or feel your greatest sorrow, your anger, we need it! Just
please. Stay safe." Sora lingers for a moment in hesitation, then he very reluctantly hands the mic back off to Cheer. The incubator rights themself, and clears their throat.
"Anyways!" They say, continuing right where they had left off. "Ato! I've got in mind to give you all a beautiful show! It's being broadcast across all the islands, so smile please!" They count themselves in, and as the music begins to boom, the cracks give way. The creatures petrified in place burst free, and begin to rampage through the city streets. They flood all off the islands, trampling, tormenting people. Broodlings laugh maniacally as they follow suit, crawling from the cracks and beginning to prowl the islands in search of prey. (edited) EVENT SUMMARY The world is a set of scales. Both Negative and Positive emotions make up a side of the scale, and if there is an influx of one, the scales will tip and the world will begin to break apart. As a result of this, the offset of cheer and joy brought by our newest introduced incubator "HOLIDAY CHEER" sets the world off balance and begins to break it apart. Project Krampus was released as a countermeasure, incubators set to destroy all in sight and wreck this cheer. It's a dangerous measure. Emotions are high and broodlings have begun to infest the cities as well, contributing to the madness. It is your responsibility to help with the leveling of the scales- be it in holiday cheer, or in utter, purge level destruction. You may pick your side- but keep a watchful eye out. It's dangerous, and we don't yet know the puppetmaster that is inciting this nightmare upon us.
Monsters Incorporated could be a ticking bomb waiting to happen at times. With its reliance on laughter to fuel their city, it wasn’t entirely uncommon that they’d receive laughter so powerful and potent that it would cause a shortage. This was one of those times. At least, for the upper floors of the massive complex where some sort of outage had taken place, and considering the CEO of the company had Boo with him, he didn’t want to turn her visit into a mess of running from floor to floor like the last time she was there. As much as he and his best friend loved her, they didn’t want Boo slowing them down either. They thought it might be best if she stayed in the lower levels where the power was, thankfully, still intact.
The good news for Mike Wazowksi and James P. Sulliven was that a certain fuzzy exterminator who carried an oversized key was in the neighborhood. Though, this time he didn’t have the one-eyed duck and green dog with heterochromia iridum accompanything him. Instead, it was an unfamiliar girl wearing a stylish pink dress with her periwinkle fur, large paws, four eyes, and horns. It was a far cry from the much more outlandish looks of Donald and Goofy they remembered.
After a quick introduction to Kairi and thanking the two for stopping by to do them a favor, Mike and Sulley scurried off to reach one of the main generators on one of the upper floors, leaving Sora and Kairi to care for Boo themselves, They entered Sulley’s office where the two had left Boo to play with her dolls while they stepped outside to have a chat with Sora and Kairi.
“Boo?” Sora asked no one in particular. The room seemed fairly standard for an office: a desk located in the back with a computer and shelves of books surely collecting dust. “Anyone home?”
As Sora and Kairi stepped further inside and searched the room for any signs of the young girl, Sora accidentally stepped on a doll and carefully picked it up.
“This must be hers,” Sora concluded.
“Do you think she’s okay?” Kairi asked, concern painted on her face.
Sora didn’t say anything. Monsters Inc. was a big place and there was no telling where she could have gone. Boo was a sweetheart but she could be a troublemaker as well if left unsupervised. Sora crossed his arms and closed his eyes, contemplating what their next move should be.
“Boo!”
“AGH!” Sora yelled, wincing.
When the dust settled, he saw the culprit reveal herself from behind Sulley’s desk, covering her mouth with both hands as she giggled at the reaction she was delighted to have witnessed from Sora.
“Whoa, Boo! Where’d you come from?” Sora asked.
Kairi laughed. “Looks like someone got a little spooked.”
Sora cleared his throat and rubbed right under his nose. “Yeah, scared that you’d get hurt,” he excused poorly.
Kairi gave a knowing smirk. “Yeah, sure.”
When Boo looked at Kairi, she tilted her head at the unfamiliarity of her. Kairi recognized the little girl’s uncertainty and hunched over with a friendly wave. “Hi, there! You must be Boo. My name is Kairi. I’m Sora’s girlfriend.”
Despite the validity of her bold statement, Sora couldn’t help but blush with a goofy smile lingering on his face that was only concealed thanks to his fur. Boo wasn’t sure what exactly a “girlfriend” was but she assumed it was something similar to Mommy and Daddy. With a giggle, she ran towards Kairi, talking to her as if she could understand whatever gibberish she spewed as she took her hand.
“You are just the cutest little thing,” Kairi cooed as she picked up Boo. “And probably a lot braver than Mr. Scaredy Cat over here.”
“Whaaaat?” Sora said. “I am not. I mean, okay...” he crossed his arms. “Some of the monsters around this place kinda give me the heebie-jeebies, but... I wouldn’t say I’m a scaredy cat.”
Kairi sent him a teasing smirk.
“What?!” he said defensively.
Kairi laughed, settling into a sigh. “Oh, Sora. Remember when you and Riku would come over and we’d steal scary movies from my parent’s room to watch at midnight? You pretty much hid under the blankets the whole time and couldn’t sleep with the light off for a week.”
“I was seven!”
Kairi shook her head, the smile on her face never leaving. “You haven’t changed a bit. Even your monster form looks non-threatening.”
“Huh? No way! I can totally be scary when I wanna be. Right, Boo?”
The only thing that came to mind for Boo was the unforgettable Funny Face Special that cracked her up the last time he visited. “Scary” was the last thing her developing brain categorized Sora as by any means. She giggled just thinking about it.
“Aww, no. Not you too, Boo!” Sora dropped his head in shame.
“Then it’s settled,” Kairi concluded as she and Boo laughed.
“Hmmm.” Sora folded his arms and looked to the ceiling, thinking to himself until an idea came to him. Maybe if he scared Boo, it would show just how intimidating he could be. With a sinister-looking grin, Sora raised his hands and wiggled his fingers, a low growl murmuring under his breath.
However, what Sora perceived to be a sinister smile came off more as a silly, non-threatening look Boo assumed was meant to be as funny as it looked and once again rewarded Sora with affectionate laughter.
While Sora loved making her happy, he wasn’t sure what he was doing wrong either. He spent the next ten minutes doing whatever he could to make Boo at least a little fearful; he made every face he could possibly muster, but they all resulted in either blank, confused stares or laughing frenzies from the girls.
A lightbulb popped over his head as an idea came to mind. “Stay right here,” Sora requested as he hurriedly turned off the lights, blanketing the three of them in complete darkness.
“Boooooooo,” Sora sang in a deep, haunting voice. “I seeeeeee youuuuuuu.”
Sora couldn’t see it, but Boo’s lips quivered. Thankfully, she had Kairi to hold onto tight, making the dark not as scary as it normally would’ve been. Sora carefully and quietly crept around the office.
“Boooooooooo,” Sora echoed.
“Kitty?” Boo said in hopes of her favorite monster friend coming to her rescue at any moment.
Sora stealthily crept closer to where he pinpointed where Kairi stood and snuck behind her. He lifted his finger, ready to tap Boo on the shoulder in hopes of giving her a good fright, but instead, Boo heard him at the last second and grabbed his finger just before he could touch her.
“Boo!” she said.
“WHOA!” Sora cried,  rushing back to turn the lights back on. Kairi howled with laughter at how poorly Sora’s plan backfired. He groaned. Maybe that was what he deserved, trying to scare a little girl just to prove a point. Still, as he watched Boo laugh heartily with Kairi knowing that he was the cause, it did make him feel warm and fuzzy inside. .
“I guess you’re just too cute to be scary, Sora,” Kairi teased. “Just stick to what you do best, okay?”
Sora smiled. Kairi was right. If anything, he was more glad to have been able to bring Boo such joy rather than be the reason she would have a nightmare that night. “Looks like you win, Boo,” Sora said. “You’re tough! Guess nothing ever gets you down, huh?”
Boo only responded with more giggles before she spoke a set of words he wasn’t expected. “Funny Face! Funny Face!”
“Huh?” Sora questioned aloud. To his surprise, she really did remember that from the last time he visited.
“Funny Face?” Kairi asked. “Oh, you mean like when you first met Donald and Goofy, right?”
Sora rubbed the back of his furry head with a bashful smile. “Ah, I guess you would remember that, huh?”
“Yup!” Kairi affirmed with a laugh. “And honestly, I’d like to see it, too.”
“Well, I guess I can’t disappoint,” Sora said. He set his feet, tied his hands behind his back, dipped his head down with an imaginary drum roll playing in his mind before he shot back up with his eyes nearly rolled to the back of his head, showing off his pearly whites.
Just like last time, Boo laughed like a little madwoman. Kairi found the sight amusing as well, it was her first time seeing this face from a third-party’s perspective rather than when she was inside his heart when he first did it.
Sora chuckled. “Hey, Kairi, give it a try!”
“Oh, m-me?” Kairi asked.
“Sure! Let’s see how silly you can be.”
“Well, I guess I can give it a try,” Kairi said. She turned Boo in her arms to give her a better look at her before she dipped her head down, imaginary drum roll and all, before she lifted her head with her crossed-eyes pupils and her tongue sticking out. “Neeeeeeeeee!”
Boo was hit with gut-wrenching laughter she couldn’t contain, tears leaking from the little girl’s eyes as the deadly combo of both Sora and Kairi sending her the silliest faces they could manifest was too much for her to handle. Before long, Sora and Kairi noticed the lights in the room beginning to flicker at a rapid rate. They ceased their onslaught of silly faces, but Boo didn’t stop laughing at the fresh memories.
Pop!
In an instant, the lights cut off and shards of glass from the broken lightbulb crashed onto the floor, thankfully out of reach to not hurt Boo but close enough to make Kairi let out a slight shriek.
“What happened?” she asked.
Sora nearly forgot that laughter was what fueled the city of Monstropolis. Having Boo laugh so much must have caused some sort of overload. He chuckled nervously. “I think we might have gone a bit too far.”
Before Kairi could ask a question, they heard Mike Wazowksi’s muffled voice from the other side of the door. “See, Sull? What’d I tell ya? That generator was a piece of cake. Still, where’s the electrician when you need ‘em?”
“You probably could’ve used the exercise yourself, Butterball,” Sulley replied as the two entered the office only to find that it was pitch black.
“Uh, guys? You in here?” Mike asked.
“Yeah, Mike,” Sora said, leading Kairi outside into the light of the hallway.
“You guys playing hide and seek?” Sulley asked.
Sora rubbed the back of his head. “I, uh... think you guys might need a new lightbulb.”
“What the heck is that s’posed to mean?” Mike asked. “What in the world were you two doin’ to make Sull’s whole office pitch black?”
“Making Boo laugh,” Sora admitted bashfully.
“Yeah, like this!” Kairi said, offering a demonstration as she made a similar face from before.
Sora, Mike, and Sulley reached out their hands dramatically. “Kairi, no!” all three said a variation of.
But it was too late. Boo went into another burst of laughter and before they knew it, the hallway lights flickered and after another resounding pop, they stood in the midst of darkness.
“Oops,” Kairi squeaked. “Sorry... I didn’t think her laughs were that powerful.”
“But if the entire hallway blacked out, then does that mean...?” Sora prodded.
Sulley sighed. “You guys think you might wanna take a trip down to the generator in the basement?”
Mike nearly had a heart attack. “OH, FOR THE LOVE OF—”
Fin.
Yay it’s my favorite time of the week! Digimon Adventure:! Can’t believe we’re already at episode 16! This week somewhat recapped the mission we’ve been on for... 14 episdoes now x’D and I realized I forgot all kinds of shit. It’s so funny, when I was ten and watching Digimon Adventure I could remember everything, but now that I’m sadly an adult I can’t keep track of these high paced children’s shows!
(Supposedly they spoon feed kids stories so they can understand it more easily... but I gotta say I think I’m the one that needs the help, bahahaha)
ALSO... apparently there was an earthquake this morning! It was too north of me so I didn’t feel it (I was... also sleeping >-> so...) But it was right when the show started airing so the info came scrolling across the screen. At first it said
Tumblr media
“Just in case, be careful of tsunami”
and like just three min or so later
Tumblr media
“There is no need to worry about a tsunami due to this earthquake”
Phew! Also, Digimon causes earthquakes! Hide yo wife hide yo kids! Is that meme still current?? Does it matter???? I’m a millennial, boomers hate me, gen Z hates me, at least let me have my memes! XD
OK enough goofing off, on to what really matters, freaking Digimon man! This episode gave me tons of Taichi spam. Mmm my favorite kind of spam! But it also gave me avocado cheeseburger spam too!
So although I completely forgot about it, I was pretty excited for this ep when they allegedly return to the real world! Last week’s preview made it pretty obvious it was going to be either a fake reality or the evil Digimon had taken over the real world much more deeply than we realized. Fake reality made the most sense. But they tried to trip us up anyway! The opening shots are clear references to the famous episode 21 of 99 Adventure, although given that was the best animated episode of the entire show, this one just doesn’t do it justice.
Tumblr media
He’s not sweating, the sun isn’t as intense... it just makes Fizz nostalgic
Finding them suddenly home, the kids are all pretty bewildered at first. Predictably, Mimi is the first to recover. What motivates her?
Tumblr media
AVOCADO CHEESEBURGER! AVOCADO CHEESEBURGER!
From Burger Jack’s bahahahaha
Mimi starts excitedly listing all the things she wants to do now that they’re home. Aside from eat delicious burgers, she wants to take a shower, change clothes...
I’m like “Oh, so these kids HAVE been feeling the effects of how much traveling they’ve been doing!”
Seriously though why didn’t anyone comment on it before now?? In 99 Adventure most of the kids couldn’t shut up about the lack of basic necessities and creature comforts. It was really easy to feel how much they were struggling! Everyone in this series is so darn serious all the time. Sora even brought that big bag of emergency supplies but we only rarely see it get used.
Tumblr media
Taichi and Koushirou are a little more wary, though they come across as mainly confused.
Mimi wants to go eat burgers right off, but Taichi convinces her they should go home first. “Oh yeah, I have parents” - Mimi, probably.
They get on a train. The Digimon are very cute. They finally notice that no one’s paying attention to them. It took 0.3 seconds for Tokyoites in ep 21 of 99 Adventure to start freaking out over Koromon, so this was a big clue if you somehow missed that there’s something not right.
On the other hand, for a world that is presumably an illusion created by some Digimon, it sure is, er...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
... accurate in surprising ways, bahahaha
(no seriously did we NEED bikini girls?? did we NEED them? I know it’s everywhere on every train for all kinds of proucts but did we NEED them here)
(the TEEN 17 in particular is killing me)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some gratuitous Taichi spam
Tumblr media
Mimi lives in the affluent Shibuya area now so the kids split up to continue on home. I love Taichi called her ‘ojousama.’
Tumblr media
Taichi wonders if Yamato and the others got home okay too. Koushirou wonders if whatever was causing the blackout has really been defeated. (Mimi’s theory is “Sora-san and the others must have done something about it!” Which I just liked because by naming her she identifies Sora as the one she feels closest to awww)
Tumblr media
They won’t say it, but the truth is these two are kinda disappointed... lol
However they won’t be disappointed for long... because this midnight train really isn’t going anywhere. *wink* see what i did there
Tumblr media
Mimi’s walk home has also turned into a labyrinth. Which is totally normal for Toyko subways really. Mimi gets so tired from walking that she starts hallucinating that Palmon’s head is in fact an avocado.
Girl you got a problem but no judging. I got the same problem.
Tumblr media
AVOCADO BURGER!! Think of it in your heart and it will appear!
Tumblr media
Now that’s not creepy at all.
Several episodes ago we learned that Mimi has never seen The Mummy. Apparently she’s never seen any horror movies at all, because she still approaches the counter to order her freaking burger even after seeing the cashier’s shadowy clearly evil visage.
Tumblr media
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR LITTLE GIRL
Tumblr media
On finally realizing that this train can’t go anywhere but Shibuya, Taichi and Koushirou get off and reunite with Mimi, who has learned nothing and continues talking to people. The only possible result of this is...
Tumblr media
... creepy eyes appearing and trying to EAT her
Tumblr media
Mimi: “Taichi-san!!”
she could ask her partner for protection but Taichi’s around and he’s everyone’s big brother so
Tumblr media
The cause of all this mischief turns out to be this creepy dude! He’s kind of cute!
Tumblr media
Also rather larger and more solid than I anticipated!
Of course this nightmare won’t end so easily.
Tumblr media
You know you’re in for it when the walls are covered in glowing red eyes. That uh, shoot laser beams at you.
Cyclops: Not lasers! Concussive optic rays!
Tumblr media
It turns out there wasn’t just one creepy dude, there were many. I’ve found my Halloween costume!
Tumblr media
Our heroes finally figure out that this world is not their real world when they come across these tetris people.
Tumblr media
For someone who’s never watched a single scary movie, Mimi does an impressive white-girl-in-a-horror-flick face.
I know she’s not white I’m saying she’s good at impressions she should become a comedienne
Tumblr media
Now that we know the blackout in Japan is still ongoing and causing all sorts of issues, we get our usual peek into what’s going on for the people of Tokyo. We get to see Hikari! She’s cool as a cucumber. Her mom’s freaking out and packing a suitcase. Her mom says “Hikari go get ready!” Hikari just says “Oh I’m ready anytime!”
Hikari: I’m not worried about anything, big brother’s taking care of it!
Tumblr media
Awww we get to see Miko! And that looks like a cat carrier <3 Mom’s not leaving their furry friend behind in the dark while they evacuate to grandpa’s place in Ibaraki...
Tumblr media
... She is apparently cool with leaving behind her only son though! X’D
The letter reads “Taichi, we’re going to Grandpa’s place in Ibaraki. Call me when you get home.” The arrow says “Address.”
Ibaraki is a bit over an hour from Tokyo (I used to live there!) so not too far and very easy to get to by train. Still... there’s a huge power outage, I can only assume Mom’s reason here really is evacuation and not just “seems like a great time to go on a visit!” but she doesn’t know where one of her kids is and she’s just like “eh no worries he’ll figure out his way home!” Does she KNOW her son is 11? Japanese kids use trains very independently but again, POWER OUTAGE. ONE HOUR+ AWAY.
I’m remembering episode 1 when Taichi was acting like such a Dad and his mom was totally on board. Apparently that is going to be a Thing in their family. Taichi is the kid in Home Alone. Scratch that, he’s like the pets in Homeward Bound X’D
Tumblr media
Mimi is understandably disappointed that she doesn’t get to shower... I mean see her parents... I mean, eat a freaking avocado cheeseburger
But Palmon knows how to make her feel better. “We’ll come back here someday and eat avocado cheeseburgers together.”
Mimi: “Heck YEAH I’m psyched!! AVOCADO CHEESEBURGER!”
this show understands the only true way to a woman’s heart is through food.
Tumblr media
Our heroes are surrounded by Homunculus from FMA.
Tumblr media
They merge together forming the aptly named EYESMON!!! lmao
Tumblr media
Look at freaking long Greymon’s cyborg arm is. Whut.
Tumblr media
AtlurKabuterimon gets hit by a train buhaahaha. Somehow this was way funnier to me than Lilymon getting hit by a plane or buildings falling on MetalGreymon.
Tumblr media
The kids are outnumbered when look who appears!
Tumblr media
The three of them sitting on Zudomon is the cutest thing ever also I JUST NOTICED ZUDOMON’S DOLPHIN PATCH WHAT THE HECK HAS THAT ALWAYS BEEN THERE!??!?!?!!?
So this was the reunion ep after all! I’m a little disappointed just because I wanted something more dramatic.
What Fizz, illusion magic and homunculi plus exploding Shibuya isn’t dramatic enough for you?
I mean EMOTIONALLY dramatic. Like, someone should hug.
Oh well. This is the face Taichi makes when he sees Yamato. D’aww. I guess i’ll be satisfied with this.
Yamato gets them started on a plan and they all fight as a group!! But Koushirou’s realized that this Digimon, whatever it is, is what’s causing the blackout. They can’t properly defeat it...
... and it’s already the night of the third day. Soon their 72 hour window will be up. Then Ariel will turn back into a Mermaid and the Sea Witch wins :’<
Orochimon!!! I love multi headed monsters.
More Taiyama action!!! Lookin a bit beat up but still cool!
OK so in sum this episode was pretty fun. I still feel like the writers for this season just don’t dig in deep enough to really make things come alive. They’re so concerned with battles that they miss moments for fun character interactions etc. And in the end, the whole of this episode can be recapped simply as “They discover the world they’re in is an illusion and they fight the bad guy.” However, we got a lot of fun with Mimi in particular, and though we didn’t get the kind of Taishiro teamwork my heart yearns for, at least we saw them sticking together and hashing things out.
I really do hope this show dials up the character relationships a bit soon though. We keep getting tidbits so it’s not like they don’t have things planned. It’s just a matter of execution. Anyway I’m happy to have the whole group (well as many as we’ve got so far) together again!
[fanfic] Broken Siren:  Chapter 12
Hikari refused to move from Miyako’s side. Fury unlike any she’d ever experienced before seethed underneath her skin, fury she would like to turn on Vamdemon for what he’d done to her.
Tailmon rested one paw-hand on her arm. “He’ll be taken down. You can trust us on that.”
She glanced for a moment at the divine creature. “How?” It wasn’t that she doubted Tailmon meant it. She just couldn’t see how anyone could defeat someone like Vamdemon.
He’s a vampire. He has Yamato at his beck and call. Yamato could turn virtually all of our forces against us with a few words. We can’t block all of their ears. There’s not enough time and not enough ways to do it.
Tailmon tilted her head to where Takeru and Patamon stood in the doorway, back to them, most of his attention on Ken and Daisuke as they filled everyone there in on what happened at Vamdemon’s castle.
“The two of us can do it. I can’t promise that it will be easy by any means and there will still be a lot that needs doing after it, but we can.”
Hikari nodded a little, turning her attention back to Miyako. “I wish we could help her more.”
“We’ve done all that we can,” Tailmon reminded her. Phoenixes couldn’t be affected by healing magic. Miyako explained it to her that since phoenixes could die and be reborn, healing either happened by natural means or not at all. In this case, the option was ‘not at all’, and they still couldn’t be certain if she would heal or be reborn.
The thing is, I know I’ll be reborn. It’s happened before. But it’s different every time. I don’t know how long it’ll be for, and when I do come back, I’ll be weaker for a while. It’ll take me time to get back up to where I was. So it’s not something I want to do a whole lot, you know.
Then Miyako smiled, that bright flash that made Hikari’s world light up all around her, that made her feel as if anything at all could be possible, so long as Miyako stood by her.
But if it could help you...
Then Miyako blushed as she heard her own words and Hikari changed the subject, not wanting to talk about Miyako dying or herself dying or anything else but the pleasure they found in one another’s company.
She could die. She would come back, but she’d still die, and she’d still suffered and hurt and it was because of Vamdemon and it was to help find Hikari’s brother, and that was because of Vamdemon, and Hikari clenched her fists, a storm swirling in the deepest parts of her soul.
She pushed herself to her feet and stalked to the door, Tailmon a pace or two behind her. Takeru, Ken, and Daisuke looked toward her as she stood there, and she caught sight of Mimi and Sora a short distance away.
“We’re not going to let him get away with any of this. We have a way to kill him.” Her gaze flicked from Tailmon to Patamon and then back to the others. “When we are leaving?”
She didn’t want to leave Miyako. But staying here wouldn’t get anything done, and she wasn’t going to stay behind while they went to do this.
Silence hung between them all for almost a minute, before Ken spoke up.
“As soon as we’re all ready. Before sunset.”
Takeru didn’t want to spend so much as a moment without Patamon by his side. The thought of what could’ve happened without his furry partner sent chills all through him. He trusted his brother above anyone else in the entire world. What he didn’t trust was what Vamdemon would make his brother do.
Thousands of other questions surged and swirled behind his lips as he walked through the corridors. He stuck to the ones that would be empty this time of day; he didn’t feel like meeting anyone who wasn’t Patamon and the side glances he’d already noticed from the few servants he did pass made it even worse. He knew he and Yamato looked alike, but it was broad daylight. He’d never yet known of a vampire who could handle that.
What Ken and Daisuke told of their experience there spun through his thoughts as well. Not all of it made sense, but he hoped if he pummeled at it enough, something might.
“Patamon? What if we do kill Vamdemon?” He worked out what he wanted to say with each word he spoke, feeling his way through it all. “What about my brother then?”
“Killing Vamdemon will return his free will to him,” Patamon reassured him. “That’s not what we really have to worry about.”
“What is?”
“The fact your brother is a siren and there’s no real way to block off a siren’s control of someone else, as long as that someone else is human. Non-humans, like a dryad or a cupid or a werebeast, they’re not affected by a siren’s call. But humans always are.”
Takeru worried at his lower lip. Yeah, that was something to worry about. He can’t stay here, then. They wouldn’t allow it.
And as much as the thought twisted inside of him, he couldn’t blame them. He didn’t like thinking of his brother as dangerous, but he’d felt that power touch him, even if he hadn’t been forced to obey it. It wasn’t safe for people.
We can worry about that later. First thing to do is get him back. Maybe they’d get really lucky and somehow killing Vamdemon would turn Yamato human again? Maybe?
It remained a sparkling hope in his heart, regardless.
“Jou...” Mimi tasted the name, letting it flow over her tongue and all the way through her. It wasn’t a bad name, but it wasn’t one that she could recall having heard in this context before. A possible other vampire, one who didn’t serve Vamdemon at all. This could offer options for the future.
“Anyone you know?”
She shook her head at Sora. “I’ll ask the trees. There aren’t many places one can go where the trees can’t find them.”
“If he’s a vampire, then he probably found a place without trees,” Sora pointed out, a tiny quirk to her mouth. “No matter where his loyalties lie, a stake could kill him as easily as it could anyone else. It wouldn’t be smart to stay in a place that provides natural weapons against you.”
“There aren’t many beings a stake through the heart won’t kill,” Mimi pointed out. “But you’re right. I’ll ask anyway, though. It won’t hurt.”
Taking care of Vamdemon would be the first priority, though, and she wanted to ask for something else while she was there. The trees would help her. They always did.
She glanced for a moment at Sora. “She’ll probably come when I call. Do you want me to ask for your friend, too?”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already on the way.”
Their companions always knew when they were in need of assistance. The more help they had on this mission, the better.
Miyako drifted in a sea of light, the pain far away from her. She knew it existed; if she moved in the wrong way it shot through her worse than being struck by a thousand bolts of lightning. She wanted to avoid the pain, to cling to the wrappings of healing that would slowly put her back into top condition.
But what she wanted wasn’t what she needed to do, no matter how appealing it was. What she needed to do was wake up and take to the air once more.
There’s someone else there. Bad enough that Taichi and Yamato remained ensnared by Vamdemon’s foul ways, but Vamdemon had someone else hidden in his lair. She didn’t know who and she didn’t know why aside from one obvious point: he’d fed on someone. It couldn’t have been Yamato; vampires couldn’t feed off of other vampires. It couldn’t have been Taichi; he’d been fed from by Yamato before they left, and there wasn’t time enough for him to have recovered his strength.
So there had to be someone else in the castle, and that meant they had to be rescued. She hadn’t been able to tell anyone else about this, and the more she thought on the matter – as much as she could think about anything at the moment – the more she knew that she needed to go there once again.
Steeling herself against the pain, she pushed until her eyes opened and she could see the room around her. It wasn’t one of Vamdemon’s; there was far too much light there. She hadn’t expected to be there anyway, but she hadn’t bee certain of where she would be or even if she could help at all. If she’d been unconscious for too long
“Miyako!” Hikari appeared in the doorway, eyes bright and worried all at the same time. “Don’t try to get up, you’re not healed yet!”
“I can’t wait until I am,” Miyako murmured, shifting herself up and hating every moment. She wasn’t even certain if she could change at the moment, but there were too many reasons for her to do it to not try. “How long has it been?”
Hikari’s hands wrapped around her shoulders and supported her. Miyako offered up a little smile, but still kept on trying to get to her feet. “Only a few hours. We’re all getting ready to go get Taichi and Yamato back.”
Thank goodness. I’m not too late.
Miyako clenched her teeth together and forced herself up. She couldn’t remember which parts of her had been broken, sprained, or dislocated in the fight, but enough of them had been wrapped up and salves and casts applied that going anywhere would risk her life.
It wasn’t as if she didn’t have more. This needed doing.
“You’re not going, Miyako.” Hikari tried to sound firm and did a very good job of it. Miyako wasn’t paying that much attention to it, though. “Miyako!”
She slowly brought her head up to meet Hikari’s eyes. “Yes, I am. Because I have to. There’s someone else there. Probably a blood pet for Vamdemon.”
Hikari didn’t move to let her up. “So why can’t we rescue them while you stay here and get better?”
“Because most of you are going to need to fight Vamdemon and if he thinks I’m still here resting, he won’t notice me sneaking in to get whoever it is and Taichi and Yamato. Someone has to do it, and he’s going to be on guard.”
Hikari pressed her lips together and started to shake her head. Miyako reached up one hand to touch the side of the princess’s face.
“I have to do this. He’ll know if any of you are missing. Yamato will have told him everything that happened that he saw. But he won’t expect me there, not after what he did to me. And any guards he has, I think I can still take them.” A small, weak smile touched on her lips for a few seconds. “Trust me, please.”
Hikari leaned into her touch and sighed. “You’re going to get yourself killed. You can barely even move right now. How do you expect to get there?”
A voice Miyako expected came without warning from the window. “I believe I may be able to lend a hand. Or in this case, a wing.”
Her eyes lit up at the sight of him as a sleek hawk, far larger than most of the breed, landed on the windowsill and turned his sharp eyes on her. “You look horrible.”
“Thanks, Hawkmon.” Miyako rolled her eyes at that, another smile flirting on her lips. “Nice to see you again, too.”
She glanced back at Hikari, whose attention flipped between the two of them in rapid sequence. “Your friend?” she asked at last, and Miyako nodded.
“We’ve known each other for a long time. He helped teach me how to fly.” Miyako held her hand out, wincing at the sharp lances of pain that drove their way up it, and Hawkmon flew over to perch there with all caution.
“And apparently I forgot to teach you that moving around when you’re injured is a very bad idea.” Hawkmon gave her a very stern look. “Your father would never forgive me if you failed to rebirth yourself properly because you were too weak.”
“What?” Hikari’s voice was a single clipped piece of pain and shock. Miyako dredged up a small expression that wasn’t exactly a smile, and rubbed the back of her head with her free hand.
“I’m not that beaten up. I wouldn’t be awake if I was. You don’t have to worry about it.”
She had to admit, if only to herself, that she was far closer to that point than she really wanted to think about. She could move. She could do so without too much pain if she focused enough. > She didn’t doubt that she could get to where Taichi, Yamato, and the stranger whose existence she only could intuit were, and get them out again.
What she wasn’t entirely certain of was how long she’d be able to push herself after that. And that, she really didn’t want Hikari to know.
Notes: This chapter is mainly why I’ve included the warning for minor Kizuna spoilers. And, not really a spoiler, but I made sure I got the name of Koushiro’s company correct in this. We have Kou/Izzy to thank for everything that happens in this chapter. <3
Hope you enjoy this one!
Chapter 3: The Admission of Defeat
It took a few weeks for Matt to get used to living in space. Even after a few years of intensive training, he found it interesting to get a grasp on the absence of gravity, and being used to being suspended midair.
Before taking off, Matt and his fellow crew members were surprised to find out that they would be the first group to test out video conferencing capabilities in the International Space Station. All five agencies, including JAXA and NASA, had been working with Izumi Corporation for implementation by the time the next crew arrived at the station. Matt wouldn't have thought that Izzy would reveal that it had been a top secret project even to him, but it was nice to chat with a friendly face occasionally while they were both on the job.
Matt had gotten along with the group of crew members with him, but he always looked forward to his weekly video calls with Sora. He had to hand it to Izzy - six months without being able to see the love of his life, and otherwise communicating minimally through email and video recordings would have been a very lonely time.
There was one particular call a few months in space that Matt had been both looking forward to and dreading at the same time.
It was always a joy for him to see Sora's eyes light up the moment her face appeared on screen and she realized he was looking at her on his side of the atmosphere.
"Hey, Sora," Matt said with a smile. He was dressed down to a casual cotton shirt and jeans since it was his day off.
"Well, if it isn't the 'space man'!" Tai said from the top corner of the screen.
"Matt?!" Mimi's face appeared. "Oh, look at you!"
"Hey, guys!" Matt replied as the whole gang of faces, including his brother, his friends, and their respective spouses, of which the female counterparts had enlarged bellies at various stages of their pregnancies. He had known that Yolei's baby had the earliest due date, thereby making Ken win the Takari Bet, but there had been other news that he had been waiting to tell everyone until that moment.
Izzy was there, too, giving a friendly wave, and even Joe had shown up; he usually made a rare appearance since he was so busy.
But Matt was amused at how Sora managed to convince every one of their friends to gather together this time around.
"Sora must've given you a convincing reason to show up today," Matt said with a chuckle.
"Why wouldn't we be here?" Davis chimed in, seeming to squeeze in between Tai and Izzy. "We wanted to talk to Mr. Cool Guy In Space!"
"It is pretty neat to see how normal it can look up there," Iori observed.
"Aside from that pen floating by his head," added Kari.
Matt looked to Sora who had been smiling but keeping her lips tight. He flashed a knowing smile.
"Sora, why don't you tell them what's really happening?"
"What?"
Every head turned to Sora, and her smile grew from ear to ear.
"Everyone," she began, after taking a deep breath. "I'm finally ready to tell you - I'm pregnant!"
The cheers erupted on Sora's end of the call. Mimi was the first to leap toward Sora to hug her. Matt laughed as he watched Tai, Davis, and TK cheering in excitement.
Matt was relieved that it was out in the open. He was the first to find out about a month into being in the International Space Station, when he and Sora cried with joy together over video chat. Seeing her glowing smile as she hugged all of her friends urged him to break into tears once again.
"I... guess I'm having... a kid last then...eh... Matt?" Tai said, putting his arm around Sora after they exchanged a hug.
Matt hoped that his glare pierced through Tai all the way from space. He knew that Tai's dragged out question was to emphasize his smug acknowledgment of achievement. Matt had known all along that he wasn't going to win the Takari Bet. He had already mentally accepted defeat; the only thing he dreaded was the moment that Tai discovered his inevitable victory.
Besides that, Sora still hadn't known about their competition, and Matt wasn't about to let Tai tell her about it now.
But Sora raised her brow as she looked at Tai's smirk.
"I wouldn't be surprised, given that you're a kid in a grown man's body," Sora replied.
Matt couldn't have been happier to see the change of Tai's expression.
"Hey, I got married, didn't I? That makes me a grown up."
"Yeah," said Matt. "She still married a kid."
"Matt's right," Tai's wife said in the background.
Sora and Matt began to laugh as Tai was at a loss on how to respond next. He and his own wife - he loved how they made a great team against Tai.
Their laughter was cut short, however, when they heard an odd groan from off camera.
"Whoa, honey, you alright?" Davis asked as he and the others turned to the direction where the sound came from. Sora and Tai disappeared and Davis followed quickly. TK appeared on camera next.
"TK, what's going on?" Matt asked.
But Davis' loud announcement answered for him: "We've gotta go. Her water just broke!"
Davis' words were of cheer, and Matt swore he heard some mischievous cackling. Although no one else said anything, Matt knew why. The due date for Davis' baby was set for after Yolei's baby. At that moment, Yolei screamed as she jumped up out of her chair.
"No!" she cried, and everyone fell silent as they looked at her. "...way!" she added.
"Don't start this now, Yolei," Matt heard Ken say as he grabbed her shoulders and walked toward the door where everyone else was headed. Ken had put his brave face on, knowing how this affected the Takari Bet. He also seemed to show a slight tinge of annoyance, but Matt could only empathize with the other man who also had to admit defeat.
Then Kari appeared on screen, and Sora popped in next to TK soon after. "Hey hon," Sora said. "Looks like the party's over. We're all heading to the hospital soon."
"Okay, then," said Matt. "Love you."
"Love you!" Sora said before disappearing again. "TK, turn off the camera?"
"Hai, Onee-san!" said TK.
"Aren't you both going, too?" Matt asked TK and Kari next to him, who grinned with giddiness.
"In a bit." TK then shared a glance with Kari before looking at the camera and lowering his voice. "Listen, when you get back, do you think you could spare some yen?"
Knowing this was referring to Ken's loss, Matt responded with, "You can make 5000 yen easily, TK."
"It's 25,000," Kari replied.
Matt grimaced. "That's still money you can make, but you really put that much money for your bets?"
"I bet the 5K on Ken being first.. And you know me and Kari, we go all in for our big bros."
Matt rolled his eyes as TK smiled with his tongue sticking out.
"Sora said to turn off the camera."
"You love me, right?"
"We'll talk later, TK. Bye, Kari."
Matt ignored the air smooches that TK and Kari scrunched their lips together side by side as Matt pushed to end the call.
~*~*~*~*~*~
About a month before Matt was set to return to Japan, Sora sent a message for him to get in touch with her as soon as he could. It had become the norm for them to have weekly video chats, so having a call in the middle of the week was out of the ordinary for him.
In fact, Matt was worried about why she wanted to talk to him so soon. He wondered if something went wrong back on Earth; maybe, if she found out some news about the baby.
When her face appeared on the video call screen, he couldn't read her expression.
"Hey, love," she said. "I hope I didn't catch you at a bad time."
"No, not at all, Sora," Matt replied, trying to hide his anxiety as he waited for her reason.
"There's someone I want you to see."
Someone? His eyes immediately moved to her stomach, where he saw that she was still carrying their first born inside of her belly.
Sora laughed as she recognized where he was looking. "I knew you'd assume it was the baby. We've still got a ways to go."
Matt had to laugh in relief. He expected to be at her side the moment their child was born and he wouldn't have missed it for the world.
"Okay, then, who is this someone?" he asked.
That was when Sora moved to the side from the camera and Matt drew in a long breath of surprise.
A familiar face appeared and drew closer to the screen, her bright blue eyes blinking and her beak seeming to touch the screen from the other side. Her pink feathers nearly covered the whole screen.
"Matt! Sora? Can he see me?"
"You don't have to stand so close to it, Biyomon," said Sora, giggling.
Matt was at a loss for words.
"Do you remember how Izzy said he would find a way to bring our Digimon back to us?" Sora asked Matt. "He found a way, Matt. He did it."
Matt's eyes began to sting with tears while he saw Sora wipe her eyes with the back of her hands. He remembered the very moment his own Digimon partner was gone, and those times afterward when he cradled Sora in his arms as she cried about losing hers.
"And now Sora has a Digi-Egg in her tummy!" Biyomon chirped.
"Is that what you told her?" Matt asked Sora, laughing as he wiped his tears away.
"I promise to help take care of your daughter in any way that I can!"
"Before you ask, Matt," Sora added. "She's not the only one who wants to help."
Matt couldn't believe his eyes with what happened next. Sora and Biyomon turned to look off camera, and Sora spoke a name that, even as he'd hoped, Matt didn't think he would hear again.
"Gabumon, why are you so far away?" Biyomon asked.
"Sora said not to stand so close to the camera," Gabumon said with a pout.
"Come over here, so that Matt can see you!" Sora said.
As soon as the blue furried Digimon appeared on screen, he blinked and he smiled cheerfully.
"It's so good to see you, Matt," he said.
"Gabumon
"
Matt couldn't stop crying. He wondered if he was crying as hard as he did when Gabumon disappeared before his very eyes. His tears blurred his vision, and he might have been convinced that Gabumon would disappear as soon as the tears washed the unbelievable sight away.
"Gabumon, are you real?" Matt had to ask.
"As real as the Digi-Egg inside of Sora!" Gabumon said with a grin.
"She told you that, too."
Matt was laughing now with his tears streaming down. That moment was enough to believe that Gabumon was real, and so was Biyomon, and the fact that only Izzy would find the miracle to bring the Digimon partners back. He couldn't wait to return home to hold Sora, and to hug Gabumon, two figures of his life that made him feel whole.
Shiro-Sora chapter one outline
I can’t believe I actually got this out...
———
Quiet and reserved Uta Utane is going to her first day of Sonare Community College, a primarily music college, one morning. That evening she will relocate to the dorms.
She passes by a person who is lost on campus and needs directions. Uta doesn’t know the campus well, but unlike most people, she is patient and at least tries to help. The person ends up being very grateful to Uta.
The person Uta tried to help was Taya Soune. Taya is soft-spoken, introverted, and doesn’t have many friends. Taya ends up remembering Uta’s kindness for the rest of the day. While Uta was talking to him, Taya wanted her to stay with him longer. When Uta eventually went off on her own after not being able to help with directions, Taya felt a bit wistful.
Uta ends up having an eventful day at school, meeting a lot of zany classmates with weird quirks.
In first period class, Uta meets a girl named Miki who is quite eccentric, is passionate about anime, and acts rather animated herself. At first Miki gives Uta the nickname “Defoko” because she bluntly declares that she seems like such a “default” type of person, but soon realizes Uta is more of a “kuudere”... whatever those terms mean. The nickname “Defoko” still seems to stick around, however.
(The nickname “Defoko” is from the word “default” in Japanese katakana, pronounced as “deforuto,” coupled with “ko,” a common ending in Japanese girls’ names. “Kuudere” is a term meaning “cool on the outside, loving on the inside.” It is taken from the English word “cool,” (“kuuru” in Japanese,) and the Japanese onomatopoeia “deredere,” which means “lovey-dovey.”)
Miki’s best friend, Iroha, appears to be a lover of everything cute and cheerful. Iroha is quite the Hello Kitty enthusiast as well. Iroha often is saying “nyaa” when she’s in a daze, which happens when she comes across anything she finds cute. However, Iroha is insecure and does not find herself cute. Miki constantly reassures Iroha and says she is adorable.
Uta is surprised at first that Miki and Iroha are in college and are still acting like high school girls... or even younger, for that matter.
Anon is a girl who sometimes fights with her sister Kanon, even though they appear to be on the same wavelength... And they’re up to trouble. Anon likes to attempt to get out of trouble by referencing her name. “It wasn’t me... it was anonymous.” In Uta’s second period, the teacher pulls up what’s supposed to be a boring video to introduce the class. But instead, it’s a link to watch Space Jam on a pirated movie website. Anon switched the links when nobody was looking. The professor’s computer freezes from computer viruses and the entire class is forced to watch Space Jam. Anon is also apparently a hobbyist mime.
Kanon is Anon’s sister, and in second period she wouldn’t stop playing Careless Whisper on her kazoo. Apparently she is training to be a real circus clown because she loves making people laugh. In second period, the professor finally was able to exit out of the Space Jam link. “Now, all of you, do NOT press the link.” He says. But what does Kanon do when she’s faced with a button and the command “do not press?” She presses it! Now the next period gets to watch Space Jam too!
Daina is in Uta’s third period class. Uta hails Daina for finally being someone “normal” and trustworthy at first... until she found out about Daina’s eccentric taste in music, dramatic poetry, crazy obsession with foxes, and tendency to howl at the full moon. And that’s not even touching on her close friendship with Dex, a wolf-obsessed guy who howls at the moon with her.
Dex is a rather eccentric guy who is energetic, yet emotional inside. He likes EDM music and despite his eccentricities, is chill and easy to talk to. Uta respects him in a certain way, aside from the other “weirdos” she met that day, Dex seems very wise and thoughtful.
Basically, Daina and Dex are furries. They’re also theater kids, and low-key emo in a way. And they’ve been best friends since second grade.
Teto is in Uta’s fourth period. She immediately latches on to Uta. Teto mentions Uta looking gloomy and wants her to smile. Teto is quite bubbly and friendly, although she is childish and doesn’t like to be teased. Uta does end up teasing Teto a bit. But it is playful and good intentioned. Teto teases Uta back a bit. They seem to develop a friendship of playful teasing for now.
Aku is in Uta’s fourth period. She seems a little lonely. Uta actually goes out of her own way to talk to Aku this time. Aku tells Uta about the sky. It’s pretty, but... it seems so lonely that we can’t fly up and visit it. Aku had always wanted wings and magic. She gives Uta a spiel about what she would do if she had magic. She would use it to cast away negativity and evil, which is ironic, considering her name is pronounced like the Japanese word for evil, “aku.” Aku prefers to be called by a nickname, Akurin. Uta agrees to call her that.
Clara is in Uta’s final fifth period class. She transferred to the United States from Colombia at the start of high school. She is friendly and cheerful. She is quite doting, somehow feeling like both a mother and a little sister at the same time. Clara says hello to everyone in the class and tries to get acquainted with her classmates. Everyone in the class admires Clara’s friendliness. Uta is a bit shy. She stutters saying her name. Clara thinks her name is Utah. Uta is too embarrassed to correct her. Clara also is already giving invites to the entire class for karaoke, claiming “This class is my favorite so far. Everyone has been so friendly!” Uta actually thinks about going...
Ruko is in fifth period too, and makes fast acquaintances with Clara. Ruko is a very tall person, six feet two. She is non-binary. Ruko is outgoing and also very mature. She admires Clara’s strength to push herself out to everyone she meets. The two chat for a bit. Ruko notices Uta looking a little gloomy and invites her to join in the conversation. This is when Uta tells Clara her name. Ruko believes Uta’s name is Yuuta for a while.
After a wild day, Uta concludes that college is officially weirder than high school.
When Uta is moving to her new dorm room after school, she comes across Taya, who she stopped to help that morning, while at the top of a hill with a pretty scenic view... However, Uta doesn’t remember him. But Taya remembers her.
“Um... Hello.” Uta hears a voice calling out to her.
“Yeah? What is it?” Uta responds. Her manner of speech is rather informal.
Taya approaches.
“Um, I just...” He is rather shy. “I wanted to thank you for your kindness from this morning.”
Taya bows formally, even though they’re in the USA...
Uta feels she is involved in a mix-up.
“I’m sorry... I think you‘ve got the wrong person.” She says.
“Oh...” Taya says. “Maybe you don’t remember me. But... I remember you. You helped me with directions. Well... you didn’t really know the way either, but just the thought of stopping to help... Please, tell me how I can repay you!”
Taya gives another deep bow. Uta starts to think Taya is a little strange.
“Um... you really don’t have to do anything, seriously.” Uta says. “Helping people out is human decency. It was nothing, really.”
“Yet I am so grateful...” Taya says again.
“Well then, um...” Uta starts saying. “How about... you tell me your name? Then we can call it even.”
“Oh, my name is Taya.” Taya says. “Taya Soune. What is yours?”
“I’m Uta Utane.” Uta says. “Well, nice to meet you.”
“Ah! Likewise!” Taya says, with a smile. He is still a bit shy, but he feels like he and Uta are no longer strangers to each other.
They get to the dorms together. The manager of the room tells them their designated room numbers and... WHAT? Uta and Taya happen to be roommates!
“Well, what a coincidence!” She says. “You two already know each other. Well I hope you enjoy living together!”
Taya bows... again.
“Sorry for the trouble I’m going to be causing you.” He says.
“Wait, please don’t apologize...” Uta says. “It’s okay... I’m glad my roommate is someone so considerate. Don’t feel like you have to apologize.”
“Okay.” Taya says.
Once they’re in the room, they have their stuff delivered shortly. They unpack clothes and such. Taya’s clothes are all fancy and posh menswear. Uta’s are mostly all casual and somewhat boyish, T-shirts, jeans, hoodies. Uta asks if Taya forgot to pack any casual clothes. Taya answers that this is just how he always dresses.
“Even to sleep?” Uta asks.
“Don’t judge me...” Taya says.
They eventually have a conversation about why they chose to attend Sonare Community College.
Taya is passionate about music. He has played the cello and taken vocal lessons since middle school. He came to Sonare to enrich his skills and continue down his path. He also confesses his interest in musical theatre, but being too shy previously. He thought about starting it once he came to Sonare.
Uta’s major is music and she had been playing the violin since childhood. However, she lost her passion long ago. She only continued playing the violin since she already came so far. She doesn’t feel the desire to disclose her lack of passion to Taya, considering how passionate Taya seems to be about music and theatre. Uta would just put a damper on his spirits, she feels.
Somewhere along the way, Uta learns that Taya is non-binary. Uta has heard of that term before, but hearing Taya explain non-binary gender in more detail makes Uta begin to relate to the idea and slowly start to question her own gender identity.
That night, before they sleep, Taya asks Uta something. He did just meet her, but he already trusts her a lot.
“Um... I’m terribly sorry. I’m so, so terribly sorry, but... I have something I want to ask of you... I’m so sorry!” Taya says.
“Well... you haven’t even told me what it is yet. Quit being sorry and tell me.” Uta says.
“W-Well...” Taya says. “You see... Remember when I wanted to be in musical theatre? It’s... it’s always been my dream... to perform a certain play with everyone... but... I feel I just can’t push myself alone. Uta, I trust you a lot, so... would you join the theatre club with me?”
There is silence.
“Well...” Uta starts saying.
“Ah, I know it’s a lot to ask of you, but... um... I’ve always been shy and timid, but... when I’m with a friend like you, I don’t feel as scared. It would mean so much to me, and I promise I’ll repay you...”
“...You don’t have to repay me.” Uta says.
“Huh?” Taya answers.
“You know, I really don’t really have any interest in theatre but... if you want it that much, I’ll do it, okay?”
“Ah, really?” Taya smiles. “Thank you so much...”
“Yeah...” Uta says. “Maybe it could be fun...”
That night, as Uta is falling asleep, it sinks in that Taya called her a friend. Feeling grateful she made friends with such an earnest person, she hopes their bond will continue to grow.
Headcannons I like to share about a Post KH3 where the Sora squad become siblings
The story they go with is that Ventus and Vanitas are the older twins and  Sora, Roxas, and Xion are the younger triplets.
Sora’s mom was surprisingly fine with gaining four more mouths to feed. People guess that she was just so happy that Sora came home so just agreed with anything he said in the hope it will make him stay. Lucky, everything turned out fine in the end, she loves all five of her kids.
Vanitas becomes a bit of a momma’s boy, since out the five of them he the only one without friends he just stays in the house with Sora’s mom. They bond over doing chores and handiwork
Eventually, Vanitas became the handyman of the house.
Vanitas and Ventus age 12 years overnight one night, so now they are 28.
They have jobs now, Vanitas work in junkyard and Ven at a Daycare and they also going to night school.
Sora, Roxas, and Xion are all homeschooled because they all too behind to go to regular school. They also study in the library and not at home.
They work great together. Sora help Roxas and Xion with the little things that don’t know like “What’s a wagon?”, Xion is the one who remembers things better, and Roxas keeps everyone focus
They take a siblings inter-world space trip during the summer
Mom is very concerned and protective, she calls frequently.
When she does, she always wants to talk to Vanitas because he’s the only one she trusts in being blatantly honest.
Roxas and Xion love the gummi ship, Van and Ven not so much
Vanitas is a grumpy old man when it comes to the gummi ship. “Kids these days with their gummi ships, when I was your age I flew through space like a man!”
Ven just doesn’t like all the tricks Sora like to do while driving the gummi ship
Roxas does encourage him to do more extreme tricks.
Xion likes the technology. She had been learning from Chip and Dale about how it works and is now kinda the emergency mechanic for whenever they crash.
Which happens a few times on the trip
On one of their downtime, Van decided to start teaching the kids how to summon gliders
 Sora is going around introducing them as his siblings to all his Disney friends and those who have met the others before, get the biggest epiphany.
Vanitas flinches when they see Mike and Sully again.
Uniquely siblings things
Whenever Roxas’ and Sora’s eyes meet they start dancing slowly and badly in place, emotionless, not breaking eye contact until one of them laugh. Or until someone yell at them to get a move on.
Vanitas and Ven bond over picking up the younger three in embarrassing ways. Usually in ridiculous cars, while blasting embarrassing music. Van finds the cars, Ven finds the music. They somehow manage to always keep it a secret between themselves so every time they do it is always a surprise.
Examples of this are
Picking them up from the library in a tacky party bus and with “Boom Boom Boom Boom” by the Vengaboys blasting through the open windows
Picking up Xion in a pink convertible, dress like high school mean girls, and playing “A Thousand Miles.” Top off with Vanitas yelling “Get in loser we going shopping” when they pull up.
Picking Roxas in Cinderella’s carriage, calling him “Princess” the whole time.
And the Best/worst one yet, picking up Sora in a Jeep, in full fursuits, blasting “All the Single Furries.” All because Sora challenged them to try harder.
Hello all and welcome to part 4 of my playthrough of KH2 on the PS2. If you haven't seen the previous entries please go do that.
[ _1_ ] [ _2_ ] [ _3_ ]
To recap: The Wonders of Twilight Town are boring as hell. We spoke to Namine again, Roxas finally realizes his life this week is a lie and starts to remember his life in the Organization. DiZ is racist against Nobodies but we already knew that. Roxas and Axel fight, I wanted to cry. Roxas meets Sora in his sleeping pod before disappearing, I wanted to cry.
And the adventure continues
I wanna know how Sora wakes up in the real world when Roxas merges with him in the virtual one. How in CoM does Sora go to sleep in Castle Oblivion, the whole-ass chamber and then some get transferred to Twilight Town, Roxas meets him in a virtual version of the mansion, and Sora wakes up in the real mansion in KH2? Nomura please explain this series. Is Final Fantasy ever this convoluted?
Donald and Goofy call out to Sora and we're once again reminded this is a Disney game. I don’t know why but the fact that Disney owns the original Kingdom Hearts characters bothers me. It means, unless DISNEY gives the OK, Sora will never be in Smash Bros. and that makes me sad.
I don't know much about comas but after a year of total inactivity, wouldn't your muscles atrophy like, A BUNCH? At least is wasn’t 7... OR VENTUS WITH A WHOLE DECADE WTF?
Again WHY COULDN'T JIMINY JUST KEEP EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED IN CHAIN OF MEMORIES WRITTEN DOWN IN HIS JOURNAL INSTEAD OF A CRYPTIC MEMO TO THANK NAMINE?
The trinity trio wanders out of the mansion, loot some chests, and find their way to the back alleys of town.
Hayner is rude RIGHT outta the gate, wow. Ok I remember that Pence actually met Roxas in Days, and so to me he seems to recognize Sora through his memories of Roxas despite the two sharing like, one visual similarly: blue eyes. But KH3 to my understanding reveals that the virtual versions of characters affect the real version so I dunno!! WHAT IS THIS SERIES?
"Have you finished the summer homework yet?" Olette asks Sora and his two ANIMAL COMPANIONS as if seeing two anthropomorphic animals is fucking normal in a town comprised entirely of humans and exactly one moogle.
Sora doesn't have any homework. For over a year he's been away from home and his mom couldn't make him go to school. I wonder how she's doing? Does she miss her son? Kingdom Hearts and parents don't gel.
I like how.. When Pence describes this cloaked figure who was looking for the trinity trio, as having big, round ears, they have to think about who it could possibly be. They’re not too bright.
Tumblr media
Why is “sofa” capitalized? Also they weren't even sitting on it, neither of them were!
HAYNER IS A RUDE BOY! He tells us so ask Seifer about the town, as we are new. Bruh, if you’re this rude to us I’m sure how much worse Seifer and his posse are.
Seifer is immediately confrontational. “You here to pick a fight with us?” and Sora’s all like “No, we’re new here.” and DONALD FUCKING DUCK! INSULTS SEIFER AND NOW EVERYONE’S READY TO THROW DOWN! THANKS TO THIS DUMB FUCK DUCK!
But thank Christ big chungus appears out of nowhere and stops the children and two adult furries from causing a scene.
This dude is WAY too into the Struggle tournament. Seifer has an unwanted faaaaan! Bro, go away, you’re creeping on a teenager.
I wanna fight Seifer.
I'm not working on this like I should be. I'm going on vacation soon and since we're all in quarantine I can't really do anything fun so this is the opportune time to catch up.
Moving on! We make our way to the train station and oh no, we're ambushed by Dusks! Because of COURSE we are. Who could've seen THAT coming? /s
I- I like how, even after hearing his voice, and seeing his fucking mousey silhouette, the gang STILL might not be sure this is their stupid rat king. One brain cell between the three of them, I swear, and Goofy is the primary carrier, and it only sometimes works.
Why do we need to purchase tickets to travel on a magical train embarking to an ethereal plane of existence? I guess it's the principal of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED TO HUG THIS BOY. LOOK, HE'S CRYING!
Tumblr media
Pence is so cute. I didn't care much for him when I was younger but he's such a cutie.
Tumblr media
I HAVE A MIGHTY NEED TO HUG THIS BOY. LOOK, HE'S SAD!
Tumblr media
It's fat cat Pete. For like ever, I had no idea he was a cat. Wonder what Maleficent saw in him to ally with him.
The trinity trio laughing about killing (or at least taking part in killing) Maleficent. "She's toast!" this sure is early 2000's dialogue...
Heartless everywhere! "You mean the worlds aren't at peace after all" well, no sweetie. It takes time for things to recover from horrible events. *looks at current state of the real world*
So like, I had no idea Yen Sid was a Keyblade warrior??? I had read about that in his Wiki page when I googled if any Keyblade warriors were left handed. (Ven might be, but more likely ambidextrous) But I guess being Mickey's teacher would imply his Keyblade wielder roots but whatever, I didn't pay attention when I was a teenager.
Yen Sid's decor is baffling. What are these bookshelves? What are these BOOKS? They're huge!
Tumblr media
Good on Yen Sid for using singular “they” pronouns in 2005.
On to our change of wardrobe. Without a doubt Sora's best look in the whole series, in my humble opinion. Lookit my handsome boy.
Tumblr media
And Sora learns about drive forms, blah, blah, blah, powerful forms, gotta sacrifice something like in Duel Monsters, in this case an ally.
Yen Sid is so boring.
All seriousness and tension is just broken as soon as Goofy’s name is uttered, at least Sora and Donald have normal names wtf.
It’s interesting how like, 15 years later, Union X explains how Maleficent was able to return after her defeat. Something about, as long as someone from your original time remembers you and you have a physical object to represent you you’re able to basically some back from the dead. Right? Am I right on that? I haven’t played it but I’m hanging by a thread on this loop.
Sora’s hard work down the drain...
Hollow Bastion! And of course there’s trouble. Heartless, Nobodies, and Yuffie, oh my!
A problem sequels have to work around is when the protagonist needs to relearn their abilities. KH does a well and good job with this one. In CoM, it’s a different battle style, in KH2 Sora’s been asleep for a hear prior.
Also, Merlin “leant” Sora some magic spells? How does that work? Like, once you learn it you can’t just... give that knowledge back...?
Tumblr media
How old is Leon? He has no right being this pretty.
Another ambush by Nobodies. Give it a rest, would ya? Battle ensues, Leon deals the final blow against an enemy, and as the camera usually does, zooms in on the victor and we get a nice slow-mo crotch shot of Leon. Thanks, game... Then, Xemnas’s very sexy, very manly voice echoes across town and the organization appears before our protagonists. I’m weak.
Demyx’s laugh, dude. I love it. Sora is ready to throw hands with anyone in his way. Honey, you’re barely out of a magic coma and this dude is like, two whole feet taller than you. Not to mention very fit.
I’m done thirsting over Xemnas...
After a few taunting words, the new villains depart, Donald attempts to give chase somehow? Where you gonna go? They disappeared behind dark corridors. It seems Goofy is still holding onto that shared brain cell.
Tumblr media
The Bastard
I like the majority of the Organization. Xigbar is definitely one of my favorites based on this next scene alone. He’s so snarky and full of shit. I love it. He’s great. He was definitely a stoner at some point.
I’m confused though. “He used to give me that same exact look!” the Wiki says Xigbar’s talking about Ven but I always thought he was referring to Roxas? Did Braig and Ven have a history? That’s implied in Days (which released before BbS) IDK dude. I’m surprised I’ve gone this long without spoiling myself too much on BbS. Like, a few story beats here and there but a lot of it isn’t gonna be known until I play it.
Tumblr media
The dialogue for KH2 was so different from the first game. It dates itself so much in comparison.
Tumblr media
Xiggy stands like this for 7 whole seconds parting with a condescending “Be a good boy now!” before disappearing. I love this fucker.
Leon, who’s been sitting on the sidelines this whole time, joins Sora and the others after the real threat is gone. We chitchat for a little bit and say our goodbyes. It’s time to leave this place and move on to one of two available worlds.
At the Beast's Castle. After fighting a hoard of Shadows, the least intimidating enemy in the series (although the demon tower in kh3 is quite frightening nlg), the Beast himself makes his appearance, takes out the Heartless that suddenly stop multiplying upon his arrival, disgracefully shoves his supposed friends aside, and takes his precious rose to the west wing, which is where it SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. ADAM WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Tumblr media
No joke one of the funniest actual gags in the whole series is:
*Donald Duck manhandling Cogsworth*
Cut to Sora saying "I'm glad you're OK." to Lumiere
Tumblr media
OK the minigame where you gotta light the magic torches, why do we have to make sure Cogsworth  has enough strength to keep the lever down when we have two perfectly capable companions that can hold it down instead? I remember this sequence being a lot more annoying when I was a teen.
Xaldin's voice makes me feel things. Ahhh he sounds so tired lol. He peaces out and we fight the Beast. I remember getting him to calm down being harder.
"Xaldin used my anger to control me!" Says Beast. He angers very easily so this must have been a cinch. Xaldin's been obsessed with him since Days so I would imagine this intel would come in handy.
More fodder to fight and on to the boss. Phase one is just an angrier version of the Darkball Heartless. Phase two is just skinny Ganon. I like its design though.
“Belle, I’m sorry. I wasn’t myself, being all rude and overall kind of a jackass to you and my servants” Except that’s kinda how you’ve always been lmao. Just because you couldn’t choose not to be an ass here doesn’t change that this IS in character. Still gotta work on that a bit.
“You don’t have to apologize” No, no he still does.
They all reconcile and the Trinity Trio departs until Xaldin shows up again to wreak more havoc.
Tumblr media
Time to move on to the next world.
Led Zeppelin was right all along
It’s my FINAL PIECE of KH3 commentary! That’s right, I’ve finished the game! Commentary for me finishing it is under the cut!
Okay guys, this is it
It’s time to finish this sucker
It’s time for all of my feelings to get curbstomped and then cracked in half over a knee
Turns out I’ve caught a cold so this might be tougher to do
But I’m still going to do it
AWAY. WE. GOOOOO
And after beating this gummi boss again
Ahhh there he is at last
The old fart
So weird that it’s not Leonard Nimoy though
Xehanort: Let’s just try out this whole apocalypse thing and see how it goes
It’s rainin’ Heartless, hallelujah
LMAO there isn’t even an enemy counter, it’s just:
ENEMIES. YES, ALL OF THEM. ALL THE TIME. FOREVER
And I just blew up ten million Heartless with a train, THIS IS THE SHINIEST APOCALYPSE EVER
Ohh, once again, hate that tunnel
IT’S A TRAP
At least Aqua didn’t fall for that
Oh dang he’s got No Name there
NOOOO SUNSHINE BOY
Oh well now that’s cheating
FUKYEAH GOOFY
Donald’s fukkin pissed
Did Donald just Megaflare this bitch
ArE yoU kiDDinG mE
Oh great, one of you again
Aqua: Never mind, that is way damn too many Heartless
HE SCREAM, AGAIN
SORA PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER WE’RE STILL EARLY IN FINAL BATTLE MODE
Well that was five different layers of OH SHIT
Oh hey back at that chess metaphor HI AGAIN YOUNG ERAQUS
Wait the hell kind of chess move was that
MEANWHILE, BACK ON THE SALT FLATS
ThE FINAL WORLD, HUH
Chirithy!!!!
Chirithy: So yeah you’ve kinda died a couple times previously just by being unconscious a lot
Sora: YEAH WELL time to get back to life
Sora: THERE’S PUZZLES IN HEAVEN, TOO??
THERE’S PUZZLES IN HEAVEN YUP, BETTER GET TO THAT
Ohhhh no the sparkly stars are KHUX Keykids, aren’t they :(((
Ugh it’s the little star soul stories that are getting to me :(
Sora bein’ a pal even to all the souls in heaven, gosh darn
OH SURE JUST KEEP THAT FROM THE AUDIENCE
OMG this soul is longing for his kismesis, what a nerd
“What a weird place” YEAH NO SHIT
Well it’s nice to see THESE Soras are having a great time
Perhaps this game was taking the idea of Sorabits a tad too literally
Also actually two quick questions here:
1) Why is Chirithy in heaven?
2) Sora were you instagramming from heaven??
Sora: So heaven’s been a trip and all but I’ve still got endgame to do, STAY COOL FUZZY FRIEND
Wait a bloop it sent him back in time too??
Insert 2001 Space Odyssey reference here
Oh now we’re in DIFFERENT heaven??
Okay yeah now I have no clue where we’re going from here
Man here I was expecting to fight all the Norts and instead it’s
Heartless
Grim Reaper
I’m starting to suspect this is not the real Jiminy
This is kind of a weird callback to KH1, innit
Yeah I was just wondering that myself
Oh hey Youngnort
See? Grim Reaper Heartless, I knew it
I gotta say that after Sora dying and going to KH heaven this is
kinda weirder coming afterwards
I’m kind of worried about where this is going
This is like Three Days of the Condor, I TRUST NO ONE
WE FINALLY GOT A TITLE CRAWL???
WHELP. ROUND TWO, I GUESS
Guys, let’s
let’s not do this again
You ever get a sense of deja vu
OHOHOHOOOOO THIS IS DIFFERENT
“WHO ARE YOU??” “I’M YOU BUT STRONGER”
Terra: I’ll kick every ass! I’ll kick your ass! I’LL KICK MY OWN ASS
Gad damn the bullshit never stops around here, does it
We’ve done this before but I DUN CARE since this is my favorite boss battle music
Meanwhile the Unreal Engine’s just huffing and puffing trying to keep up
:O!!! EPHEMER!!
WHATRE U DOIN IN A HEARTLESS TORNADO
And all the dead Keykids came to help!
Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyyy goooooooooooosh
HAHA SO THAT’S HOW THEY INTEGRATED THOSE PEOPLE THAT WON THE THING
Congrats Keykids, U ARE ATTACKS
That’s
that’s really sweet actually
That’s a whole lot of Unicornis and Vulpes in there
OMG I was so busy watching those names I didn’t even realize I was supposed to avoid dying
FINALLY CURAGA???
I dunno Lea that was already a pretty big bad
Aw darn they Norted Repliku
Or wait no Pastku?
Pastku you’re such a little shit
Lea: That wasn’t blundering! That was failing, WITH STYLE
HE LOOM
Unreal Engine: Please
help
I’m dying Squirtle
Oh hey FINALLY super powerful magic users like Yen Sid get involved!
And Moses parted the Heartless Sea
And hey finally got Starlight!
Well ain’t this a familiar setup
I miss Leonard Nimoy :(
Well I’m glad we get to save and shop before we all die horribly!
.Wait haven’t we all already died horribly??
FINALLY We get to fight some Norts!!
Took out Xigbar first
Yeah Xigbar I’m really not sure all that hoohah was worth it
Are we gonna do this for each one or do we have to pick and choose?
Oh well that takes care of Pastku so maybe not
SKIRT RIKU VS SKIRT RIKU
Oh that’s creepy actually
OH NO! Repliku :(((
Sora
you just gonna leave that
okay
So now we got some Neophytes to deal with
Well I was gonna go after Mar first but I guess Luxord is our opponent now
AW DAMN I hated this part from before!
Oh wait that wasn’t hard at all you just look behind those stupid cards
Luxord: Well it’s been fun, time to die
Why does everyone’s teeth look blue??
Really liking all these remixes of the old boss themes tho
Aaaaand down goes Mar
And what’s nice is partners have mostly worn down the last Nort present!
Larx is an asshole to the very end
Door puzzles ohhhh nooooooo
Well thank goodness we worked out that nonsense
Who to help first? REDHEAD SQUAD
If that’s Xion I’m going to be SO UPSET
At least we get to fight WITH Kairi even if not as her
Lea is SO ANGER
Ohhhhh BUUUUUURN
Oh well that ain’t good
XION NOOOOOOOOOO
Absolutely not, Xemnas!!
*throws hands in the air* OHHHHHHHH
GET READY FOR: TRIPLE KEYKIDS ASSKICKIN
Hot damn but it’s satisfying to beat the crap out of Saix with Sora, Roxas and Xion all at once while The Other Promise just blasts in the background
Lea: I’m not mad I’m just disappointed
Awww maaaaaan
OH GOSH SEASALT TRIO HUG
THEY’RE ALL TOGETHER AGAIN SOB SOB
Now to the Wayfinder family! Took out Vanyeetas first!
Sora: Hey WTF that’s my face you got
Yeah I gotta agree I don’t know which part of that was okay honestly
WHELP no time to think on it gotta take out Terranort
Since we got back Roxas and Xion can we finally get Terra back??
Sora: TERRA PLEASE STOP, IT’S TOO WEIRD
OHHHHHHH!! OH OH OH
That was metal as all hell
YAAAAAAY
WAYFINDER FAMILY IS HERE
Ohhhh gooooosh
Everyone’s together and I’m full of rainbows
MAN so we got
three Norts left, don’t we
Guess the only way out of this is up
What we’ve just been cloning No Name the whole time??
Okay, FOUR left, we gotta deal with Ansem, Xemnas and Youngnort first
Oh sheesh that was Youngnort dying, thought it was me for a second
Youngnort: Just one last piece of cryptic bullshit to leave you with! BYYYYEEEE
Aaaand that’s Ansem down
Ansem: Must
pontificate more
before
I die
Haha took out Xemnas with flying rocket punch nanobots
Xemnas: Regrets
I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention?
Sora: Life is pain, Xemnas! Anyone who says otherwise is Norting you
Oh boy oh boy, all we have left now is
the old fart
Oh this is gonna piss me off good, ain’t it
YUP, I’M PISSED
YOU DONE HER DIRTY AGAIN
Nomura do we need to sit you down as a group and learn you some things about NOT DOING THAT
That was
kind of a cool moment I guess?? BUT I’M STILL MAD
Oh shitcakes
The world to come is death from above I guess
Donald and Goofy just coming in like “Hey
what’d we miss?”
I’m honestly really glad they’re here tho, TRINITY ALLLLL THE WAY
Rage Awakened (6)
Ten years ago, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus lost their fellow apprentice, Sora, in Deep Jungle. Now, they are to return with two new students, Riku and Kairi, to lock the heart of the world. All the while, something watches from the trees. Feral!Sora AU
Based on @chachacharlieco and @violetstar-writes Tarzan AU.
Ao3 | FF.net
There’s evidence to suggest that Ansem the Wise and Kairi are NOT related, but for the sake of this fic, it makes more sense if they are.
—
Sora was great fun.
Though his English wasn’t great, he used what words he knew and great facial expressions to convey what he wanted to say.
For instance, he snagged a prickly fruit and held it up next to his face and said, “it’s me!” Then he turned it upside down and said, “Riku!”
He took her on a tour of the jungle, all either by swinging on vines, or sliding down twisting tree roots. He was always careful with her, making sure she was safe from bumping or falling, easily putting himself between her and whatever brush came up on the path.
They travelled to the lagoon and waved at the hippos. Then to a grove of fruit trees to have lunch.
It was very liberating. She had yet to see any heartless while she was with him, but she knew they were in the jungle, waiting. Perhaps he knew where they spawned and purposely stayed away from those places.
Ever since she became a wielder, even the fun days still felt like there was a underlining duty to them. The exploration of the worlds always had a looming threat of darkness about them. But in this moment, with Sora, she just felt free.
All in all, Kairi hadn’t laughed this hard in a long time.
At sunset, he took her to a large tree, that grew up passed the canopy, and brought her to the heart of it, where the trunk ended  and the branches began. It looked like a basin, how the middle of the tree dipped down. But there was no standing water, as the leaves up above were too thick for the rain to penetrate. There was a collection of furs laid out on one side, while a cluster of charred rocks sat adjacent to it.
“Is this your home?” She asked, as he set her on her feet.
He nodded, and then gestured for her to stay put before leaping over the edge and down to the floor.
Looking around, she saw some logs and twigs for a fire, and got to working building one. It would be dark soon enough, and the evenings held a bit of chill. Thankfully, she had her fire magic, so the fire was alive and roaring in no time.
As she waited, she peered through the branches to try and make out her surroundings. Mostly, it was just trees, but in the distance she could see the waterfalls that Tarzan had mentioned, and the sun setting on her right.
“The Heart is to the South of here...not that I really know where ‘here’ is.” She plopped down on the furs, content to just wait patiently.
Sora returned about 15 minutes later, a furry creature in his mouth.
“Ah!” Kairi cried in disgust.
“Food!” He replied, spitting it out on the floor.
Kairi started at the dead animal with horror. He didn’t expect her to eat that, did he?
It seemed not, since he dug a knife out of the pile of furs. He then grabbed two long sticks and got to work cleaning his kill.
It made Kairi feel a little better, and she crept closer to watch him work.
He glanced up from his work for a moment. “Why Kairi come? Why in Jungle?”
The question surprised her, simply because it was the most amount of words he had strung together so far.
She pulled her legs up, getting more comfortable. “You know the monsters, the...” What had Tarzan called them? “...not-monkeys?”
“Mhm.” He nodded.
“Well, they aren’t just here. They’re all over the worlds. You remember the different worlds right?”
“Mm!” He nodded again, and then thought for a moment. He raised his hands above his head to make a point. “Big...rock, no...s-stone?”
“Are you trying to say Castle?”
“Castle!” He chirped, snapping his fingers. “Many castle! And...” he covered his eye with a hand and made a hook with his finger. “Arggh!”
“Pirates!”
“Yeah yeah! Um um...ooooooo!” He wiggled his fingers, making an eerie sound.
“Uh, Halloween Town? The ghosts?”
“Ghosts!” He smiled, clapping his hands together.
“So you know English, it’s just hard for you to remember words?”
He scrunched his nose. “‘Member things. Long time.”
“Ten Years is a long time to go without speaking to anyone.”
“‘Member home. Mommy daddy.  ‘Member friend. ‘Member Kairi too.”
“What? Remember me? No...you must be mistaken. I didn’t start studying under Eraqus until about a year ago.”
“No no. Not key...keyblade. Mmm...” he closed his eyes in thought, remembering the time vividly, but not the words to describe it. But then, he pulled one out. “Garden.”
“Garden...? Why, you must have come to Radiant Garden once! I’m sorry, but I don’t remember that. My memory before 8 years ago is completely gone.”
“Not ‘member Sora?”
She shook her head sadly.
He pouted, then ultimately went back to preparing their food. “Not monkeys?” He prompted.
“Oh! Um...well, it all started about six years ago.” She relayed the information Master Eraqus had given when she was recruited. “King Mickey noticed the stars blinking out, one by one. You know, the stars are other worlds.”
He hummed, indicting he was listening. Though how much he understood, she didn’t know.
“So he, Master Yen Sid, and my Uncle, Ansem the Wise, all looked into it. Previously, all the worlds had been separated, and the only way to get between them was with the use of a keyblade.”
“‘Member that!” He smirked.
“But now, they have all been connected by dark corridors, allowing the darkness to come and swallow the worlds, and swallow hearts. Those creatures are called the Heartless, and they happen when someone’s heart is lost to the darkness. We came to the Jungle to find the heart of this world, and lock it. To prevent to world from being swallowed too.”
His mouth was scrunched up, as he digested this information.
“Too much?” She asked, “I know it’s hard to understand.”
“No no, got it. Heart too dark turn not monkey world heart lock not swallow. See?”
To her it just sounded like he was having a stroke. “Heart...too dark turns into a heartless.”
“Heartless not not monkey,” he said as a note to himself. “World’s are connected?”
“Yes. To the dark realm, through corridors...or halls or paths.”
“Oh oh oh,” he nodded. “How?”
“We...don’t really know. But Yen Sid and Uncle have theorized that either a person or entity found an existing hole between the two realms, and crossed over, creating corridors as they travelled. But this is solely based on conjecture.”
Sora’s eyes glazed over.
“Sorry, um...let’s just say, someone made holes on purpose.”
“Who?”
“We think it was Maleficent.”
He frowned, his brows furrowing in thought.
“You met her before,” Kairi confirmed his thoughts. “A long time ago. She’s a witch with horns and green skin.”
His eyes became huge. “Oh oh oh!!” He clenched his eyes shut, the word on the tip of his tongue. He curled his fingers into claws, and then swiped them through the air while he pretended to roar.
“Dragon?”
“Mmm!” He breathed in relief.
“It’s okay. Someday you’ll get your words back.”
“Kairi help? Yes.” He said confidently.
She couldn’t help but blush slightly. He had certainly taking a liking to her. “So...we’re looking for a keyhole.” She continued. “We think it’s at the waterfall, since that’s at the heart of the Jungle.”
He didn’t say anything, just put the meat on the sticks, and handed one to Kairi, demonstrating how to cook it over the fire.
That was the best she could explain the situation, given the facts they knew. She surmised that the Masters might know a little bit more, but at this point in her training that knowledge would only overwhelm and depress her, since she wouldn’t be able to do anything.
“Sora’s home...” he wondered aloud. “Mommy daddy think Sora dead?”
This conversation had quickly taken a turn for the worse. Might as well tell him the news now, instead of letting him find out later and get mad that it had been withheld. “Sora, about the Destiny Islands...” she began slowly. “Your mom and dad, probably did think you were dead, but...”
He looked up from the fire, staring at her intently.
“The Islands were swallowed by the darkness about six years ago. Riku, and I guess you too, are the only inhabitants to have survived...I’m sorry.”
His gaze fell back on the fire, and silence reigned. The sun had set, and darkness was settling on them, with only the light of the fire to protect them.
“Keyhole...” Sora began after a moment. He rubbed his cheeks with the heel of his hand. “Lock it will...save Jungle? Save Tarzan Jane?”
“That’s right.”
“Kairi leave after?”
“...yeah. We’ll all go.”
“Kairi not stay?”
“No...and you shouldn’t either. You should come back with us.”
He screwed up his lips, the thought not pleasant to him. But before he could protest, his dinner burst into flames. “Ah Ah!!” He shouted waving it around.
“I’ll put it out!” Kairi summoned her keyblade.
“No!” He kept blowing on it, putting out the flames. “Gonna eat!”
Kairi watched in concern as he put out his meat, and then began to gnaw on it like a dog.
Kairi, in turn, took her dinner away from the flames, seeing that it was cooked nearly to perfection. It tasted good, especially since she had barely eaten all day.
After dinner, Sora yawned loudly and crawled over to her to join her on the furs.
“You should get me back to camp.” She tried again.
He shook his head, smoothing out the bedding, then he laid down, tugging on her arm. “Kairi belong with Sora.”
He still didn’t understand.
Resigned, she laid down too, her back to him.
His arms wrapped around her, his face nuzzling into her hair. “Stay...” he yawned again.
Kairi was frozen. This was weird. This was uncomfortable, but...she felt safe. For all intents and purposes, he was a stranger. One day of broken conversation did not a relationship make, let alone a friendship, though she had promised him that much.
But she tried to imagine it from his point of view. All alone for ten years. Then he finally found someone like him, and the thought of having them leave him alone again? No wonder he was so possessive.
When was the last time anyone showed him any affection?
With that depressing thought, she rested her hands on top of his and tried to relax. Though it wasn’t comfortable, she eventually fell asleep.
—
“So let me get this straight...” Terra began. “You found them, but you told Kairi to run off with him?”
“Well, what else was I supposed to do? He doesn’t like you guys.”
“She’s been gone all night! Who knows if we’ll ever see her again?!”
Riku rolled his eyes. This is why he waited so long before mentioning that he had seen Sora and Kairi. “She’ll come back eventually. But without her spending time with him, he’ll never trust us. More specifically you. He likes me.”
Aqua and Ventus looked at each other while the boys fought. “Do you think Sora will actually bring her back?”
Aqua shrugged. “I don’t know him anymore. I have no way of guessing.”
A moment later, two figures dropped from the tree onto the balcony of the treehouse.
Everyone deflated ever so slightly when it turned out to be Tarzan and Jane.
“Hello,” Jane greeted warmly. “Sorry for dropping in so suddenly.”
“Time is right, time to go to waterfall.”
“What? Really?” Said Ventus, perking up considerably.
“We can’t worry about Kairi right now, we have a job to do.” Riku said, grabbing his small pack of supplies.
“Fine. We’ll discuss this later.”
Tarzan led them South by Southeast, a direction they hadn’t explored yet, much to Terra’s chagrin. They could hear the waterfall, roaring in the distance, hope filling their chests.
But then there was another sort of roaring coming from behind them.
“What was that?”
Tarzan fell into a fighting stance, grabbing his spear from his back.
“Sounds like a tiger,” said Ventus, also summoning his keyblade.
“There are no tigers in Africa, actually.” Jane explained. “It’s much more likely to be a leopard.”
“Not leopard.” Tarzan said, hushing them.
“If it’s not a leopard...what is it?”
Tarzan was quiet, listening to the growl that was getting louder. “Not know.”
The shadows from the trees shifted, and changed shape. Then they turned even darker, swelling up from the ground to take form.
It looked like a leopard alright, but black in body with blue spots. It had huge, blood red claws and eyes that smoldered with hatred.
Tumblr media
“Not leopard.” Tarzan said again, as if it wasn’t obvious.
“It’s not a heartless either.” Said Aqua, watching the creature pace back and forth. “But I bet it’s what’s been stalking Sora.”
The creature stood only a few feet away, pacing at the tree line, it’s tail swishing back and forth. No one wanted to attack first, not knowing how strong the beast was.
Suddenly, two people fell from the trees, landing protectively in front of the group.
“Kairi!” Aqua shouted, once she saw her red hair. She grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug. “We were so worried!”
“I’m okay, I promise.”
Aqua did not relinquish her hold, but her attention became riveted on the young man who had arrived with her.
He did not withdraw his keyblade, but he put himself between the strange creature and the others, his back to them.
“Sora! Get out of there!” Terra reprimanded.
He didn’t respond.
The not-leopard hissed and growled, and Sora returned the threat.
Then they started making strange noises, much like whispers. They seemed to be holding a conversation.
“Oh my god...” whispered Riku. “That’s the language of the heartless.”
“Are you sure?” Aqua asked, frightened.
“I used to know it, in the darkness. I’d recognize it anywhere.”
Sora and the beast seemed to reach some sort of agreement, and the cat dissolved back into shadow and disappeared.
Up until now, Sora had yet to face them. He just stood hunched over, his shoulders tense.
“Sora...?” Aqua asked softly. “Is that you?”
He finally turned, making eye contact with her. His blue eyes piercing and full of betrayal.
“It is you...” she breathed, tears blurring her vision. “And all this time, I thought we lost you...” She reached for him, but he backed away, hissing.
“Sora, it’s us.” Terra pleaded. “We’ve come to take you home!”
Sora turned on him as well, snarling and showing off his abnormally large canines.
“Hey, what about me?” Tried Ventus. If what Aqua said was true, perhaps Sora would respond better to him, someone he was close with in those days. “Don’t you remember me?”
His reaction was different, but not better. Sora acknowledged his voice and backed up further, whining like a wounded animal. He looked absolutely heartbroken.
Finally, Sora glanced at Riku, and then Kairi, who was still being held by Aqua. He let out a low, sad moan, and darted off into the foliage.
“Will go after,” Tarzan announced, making chase.
Aqua finally let go of Kairi, if only to hide her face in her hands. “He’s alive!” Her cry was muted. “He’s alive...”
Terra looked to Jane, who had quietly watched the exchange without comment. “Jane, do you know the way to the waterfalls?”
“Why, yes I do—...”
“What about Sora?” Ventus protested. “We should go after him.”
“No. Not yet,” Terra emphasized. “Finding the keyhole is the reason we came here.”
Ventus pouted, looking incredibly put off.
“Look, I can only worry about one thing at a time. Let’s go seal the keyhole, then once that’s done, we can take our time trying to help Sora. That’s not something we should rush.”
Everyone begrudgingly agreed, and on they went.
—
Disney Castle, evening. A rainy night, though well needed to keep the lush greens of the promenade full and regal. The windows of the library were open, letting the sounds of rain fill the room.
A few days ago, King Mickey finally returned from his long quest across the worlds. His good friend Eraqus had mentioned that his students had gone together to seal the final world. There was more work to do to defeat Maleficent, but for the time being, he needed to rest. Furthermore, he needed to catch up with his queen and friends.
Currently, he was sitting at his desk, carefully going over documents that had been waiting since his departure, that Minnie couldn’t cover for him. The queen was sitting on a lounger not too far away, reading a book, pleased to just be in his company. Pluto, his ever faithful companion snoozed on the floor next to the fireplace.
“Mickey?” The Queen asked.
“Hmm?”
“You know, I was just thinking...we should invite Eraqus’ students over for a dinner when they get back. They’ve been working so hard to seal all the keyholes, they deserve a reward.”
“Great thinking, Min! They sure do deserve something. Can you and Daisy take care of it?”
“Of course.”
Mickey sat back in his chair. “Do you know what world they’re in right now?”
“I’m afraid not.”
“They went to Deep Jungle. That’s the world where Sora disappeared.”
“Oh dear. That must be hard for Terra and Aqua.”
“It’s strange...the Heartless haven’t been around that long, but...I’ve had this feeling that his disappearance wasn’t an accident, like a wild animal or anything. I think someone did it on purpose.”
“You think Maleficent?”
“Or...someone else.”
Nearly a moment later, a dark corridor opened in the corner of the library, startling them both. Pluto was awake instantly, barking in warning, as King Mickey summoned his keyblade.
But unexpectedly, a bearded man stumbled in through the portal, nearly collapsing on the floor. He looked like a mess.
“Ansem the Wise?” Asked The King.
“Mickey my friend...Radiant Garden has fallen.”
I finished KH3 🙃🙃🙃 I HAVE THOUGHTS
spoilers obviously, though I feel like I’m in the last person in the world who finished it so pffft
- SO LIKE..........THE FUCK.........XIGBAR IS LUXU??????? THE FUCK??????????????? I mean I guess that sorta explains why he seemed to know so much about Keyblades and stuff BUT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUCK???
- and then all the Masters just kinda appearing??? They really want everybody to play the shitty mobile game, don’t they.....cause if this was the ending of the ‘Xehanort saga’, I’m guessing that the next part is gonna be the ‘Masters saga’ or........something...
- kinda sad that they didn’t explain more about Marluxia and Larxene’s connection to everything, but eh...I gave up on the mobile game forever ago and basically only know the gist of things thanks to the magic of people summarizing it all
- WAIT IS DEMYX THE MASTER OF MASTERS............lol oh god watch this end up being true I hate everything
- even though I’m meh about Union X or whatever the heck they call it, the battle towards the end where all the Players help Sora....and then you see that one kid....I sobbed like a baby IDK WHY IT WAS JUST VERY EMOTIONAL FOR SOME REASON
- the ending sort of confused me in regards to Sora....when you see him and Kairi on the tree, I’m like, okay woo he rescued her, but then he sort of disappears and she cries...? what the fuck was that about??? I guess it’s not a KH ending if there isn’t something that confuses the fuck out of you, but still...
- whatever happened with Sora, I feel like there should’ve been some kind of sequence at the end with Kairi, maybe ~reaching towards the light~ or whatever. I was honestly really disappointed with her in this game. they gave her a Keyblade and she was supposed to be all badass, but nooope....it was just an excuse to get her to the final battle so she could be kidnapped. so lame
- ANYWAY Riku and Sora were ridiculously gay throughout the whole game and it was all glorious
- like seriously, when they rescued Aqua and that random Keyblade appeared when Sora showed up??? nobody ever mentioned it or anything...? just a Keyblade from Sora and Riku’s gayness, here to save the day. THAT’S THE KIND OF SHIT I’M HERE FOR!!!!!!!!!!
- also I did all the Battlegates (I was like level 80 by the end of the game because I wanted to make it last FOREVER so they were all pieces of cake), and in one of the Secret Reports, it says that the replicas needed some kind of “spark” to get their hearts going and make them people
- ...........Roxas appeared after Axel had lost his Keyblade and was all upset about Saix.......I’M JUST SAYING.................that’s not gay at all cough cough
- OH GOD AND AT THE END WHEN THEY’RE IN THEIR NORMAL CLOTHES???? AND ALONE ON THE CLOCK TOWER BEFORE EVERYONE ELSE SHOWS UP????????? EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY LIKE IT’S 2007 WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- seeing Namine and Xion hang out together was way more awesome than I thought it would be. IDK THEY’RE BOTH CUTE
- my feelings towards Xion have always been a solid “meh,” but when Sora said her name - even though nobody was supposed to remember her - and she started sobbing, THAT WAS IT, HERE COME THE TEARS
- Axel and Roxas staring at each other before Xion starts sobbing? gaaaaaaay
- AND THEN AXEL GATHERING BOTH OF THEM IN HIS ARMS......
- THE PART WHERE ERAQUS SOMEHOW CAME FROM TERRA’S HEART AND THEN GATHERED THE WAYFINDER TRIO IN HIS ARMS???? WHAT THE FUCK WHY DIDN’T I BRING TISSUES WITH ME WHEN I PLAYED THE ENDING AUUUUUUUUGHHHH
Tumblr media
- Chirithy finding Ventus would have lost all meaning for me had I not read the summaries hahaha don’t make me play your mobile game KH, jfc
- apparently some people missed this part, but in the Final World, you could talk to “Namine” and some other girl when you spoke to those transparent stars....I assumed that all the text stuff were from Players in Union X after that first Keyblade War....??? idk, but I’m also assuming that the other girl who spoke was the one that died (Laurium’s sister??? idk everybody on Twitter was flipping out about it awhile ago lol)
- THE SECRET ENDING............Nomura is awfully salty about XV, isn’t he lololol
- THE NEXT KH SAGA IS THE VERUM REX SAGA HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA seriously what the fuck was happening there
- maybe I’m just slow, but WHAT WAS IN THE BOX???????????????? I’m assuming the full Book of Prophecies???? but like...???? THE FUCK???????? IS HAPPENING???????? I hate that so much is connected to Union X ughughugh they should release some kind of console/handheld version that condenses all the mobile nonsense into a 40-hour game that’s less nonsensical. I’m actually really curious about the story, but Union X’s gameplay suuuucks and I have no desire to go back to it
- I sorta wish there’d been at least one more Disney world that they hadn’t shown in the trailers, just for a ~surprise~....I’m definitely not disappointed with the worlds they did pick, though
- except maybe for Arendelle....one of my least favorite kind of places in video games are confusing mountainous paths where you can barely tell which way you’re going and....WELP....
- I do absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOVE that they put the entire Let It Go sequence in there. my jaw dropped when it happened and it was AWESOME
- The Caribbean and Kingdom of Corona were the best worlds, don’t @ me
- I WANNA SMOOSH SORA’S FACE IN <333333333 he was like....a thousand times more adorable in this game than in any of the others, what the heck???
- I loved that there were points where you played as Riku and Aqua, instead of it merely being a cutscene, and that they had powers relevant to them (like at the beginning, Riku had higher level magic cause he’s a Master?)...idk I thought that was a nice touch!
- while I completely understand why the Unversed were in the Monsters Inc world, Vanitas showing up and being all “VEN IS IN YOUR HEART” kinda lost the dramatic impact they were going for since Sora was a furry, pantsless monster. IDK MAYBE I’M DUMB BUT IT MADE ME LAUGH sorry Ven
- every single scene where the Wayfinder Trio reunited with each other or someone close to them made me cry like an idiot
- ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY SAVE AQUA AND THEY’RE ALL “WELCOME HOME”.................WOW WATERWORKS BRB OW MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!
- I loved that tiny little moment towards the end where Roxas and Ven see each other and are all “???????” lol it was cute
- I’m sorta disappointed there wasn’t a little more with Roxas, considering half the point of Twilight Town being in the game was for Hayner/Pence/Olette to find a way to get him back.....but seeing everybody eat ice cream on the clock tower was Very Good
- personally, I think the whole Final World part was beautifully done. the location, the music, seeing hundreds of Soras doing backflips and flailing around.......magical
- I’m going to need another compilation of people saying “Sora, Donald, Goofy” like immediately please thanks
- THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK WAS A++++++++++
- even though finding some of the emblems was a pain, all those Hidden Mickeys and being able to use Disney rides in battle kinda made things feel more Disney-tastic, like I was at the parks ahahaaaa so great
- I feel like I had more thoughts but I’m finally coming down from all the sobbing so excuse me while I float into another plane of existence and maybe get the strength to write AkuRoku and/or Riku/Sora fic even though there’s probably like two people who follow me who would read it
- WHO WAS THAT RANDOM GIRL EVERYBODY WAS TALKING ABOUT???? I mean, given the reports, maybe that one girl who died in Union X didn’t actually die but time-traveled.....but if she was that other voice in the Final World.....ow my heard idk what’s happening anymore
TL;DR: GREAT GAME, MAYBE NOT WORTH A 12-YEAR WAIT BUT FABULOUS ALL THE SAME, WILL CRY OVER AND PLAY MANY TIMES IN THE FUTURE BUT ANNOYED AT ALL THE RANDOM CONFUSION AND CONNECTIONS TO UNION X; 8.5/10
A Rush of Blood to the Head (2/6)
Pairing: Terra/Aqua Rating: T Word Count: 4,951
Summary: Aqua was told it was a fair trade - her life for his. And it was, but now Terra has to pick up after the consequences.
AO3       FF.net
A/N: It’s such a weird feeling to end a WIP. This is the third one I’ve opened, and the first one I’ve closed. I usually daydream about them until I put them into words. The outline had been collecting dust for a couple of months. After I’ve dusted it off, I decided not to change anything. Needless to say, I’ve been very excited to finally share this. I almost consider this as an AU to my other AU, with all the same headcanons and backstories for them that I’ve written out.
The reunion was done to Michael Giacchino’s “Locke’d Out Again” from Lost Season One. The Wayfinder scene was done to Michael Giacchino’s “Departing Sun” from Lost Season One. The second flashback to the end was done to Gustavo Santaolalla’s “Home” from The Last of Us.
One Gain
The only thing that would have made this night better would be moving closer to her. But asking for her permission to do so was a risk Terra never took.
The rain continued to patter heavily on the windows, and every once in a while lightning struck again. The lamp next to Aqua had been lit, and they rested the heavy leather book in between the both of them, a blanket draped over their laps. The rest of the lounge, a mixture of furniture, long desks, shelves of books and a wardrobe, was completely draped in shadows. She was close enough that her leg rested against his.
For now, he was grateful to relish her proximity. He also felt safest when he made it difficult for her to determine his feelings for her, fearful of how she would react if she ever found out.
“Ghosts will stay behind for any number of reasons. They may need to take care of unfinished business, or they could be in denial over their deaths,” Terra said, summarizing most of the chapter he had been reading.
Aqua rested her elbow on the backrest of the loveseat they were sharing, her head on her palm. She yawned. “That doesn’t sound so bad. When does it get dangerous?” she asked, rubbing her eyes.
“They can haunt people if they are angry or resentful.” He wondered if there would ever be a point in his future career as a Keyblade Master that he would encounter one. “They can even get aggressive if they are enraged, or vengeful, or even possessive.”
She scoffed. “And the writer of this book came across enough of them to know this?”
His lips curled ever so slightly upward. “Did you know there is a world out there where there are undead pirates? It’s true. There was an earlier chapter about them.”
She rolled her eyes. “That’s not the same thing as a ghost. How do you actually know you came across one?”
He pointed to some lines in the book and read aloud: “A ghost, upon contact, will carry burdens and confounded memories of the life left behind. When one speaks, the manner will be cold, and their sentences garbled. A ghost will talk nonsense, leaving the living confused. It is a way to make certain that personal pain is felt by those left behind.“
“That’s horribly depressing.” She stifled a laugh rather poorly, which was usual. She always made fun of him for finding the strangest things to read from the library. But she never refused to listen to him talk about it.
“It gets worse.” It was fascinating, but heavy-hearted at the same time. “Sometimes the living can keep a dangerous ghost around because they get obsessed with their loss. Like, they’ll keep objects that used to belong to their loved ones with them at all times.”
“Ugh, Terra-”
“Hey, you never know. You might need this information.”
“Of course,” she said, her eyes fluttering shut. “Someday we’ll need to attempt a heroic rescue over some old lady who didn’t know she died.” Her voice cracked.
“You’re very tired.” He mustered every ounce of his will to stop himself from sounding disappointed, expecting she’ll leave him for bed.
She slowly opened her eyes, the dim lighting from the lamp on his side reflecting off of them. They stared into his for a while. “Yeah.” She actually sounded discouraged over her own tiredness, and it was a lie if Terra pretended that his heart didn’t flutter in that instant.
Still, he shouldn’t be too forward. “Should I carry you to your room? Or do you want to camp out here like we used to do during the snowstorms?”
“First of all,” she said, smacking him on the bicep, “I can take myself back to my room... But yeah, let’s camp here.”
It was the better answer. The lounge was one of the several rooms they’ve christened as spots for blanket and pillow forts when they were children. Inside the wardrobe were a heap of stacked blankets. They spread them out and layered them right in front of the tall windows - enough to makeshift a spacious bed.
The rain wasn’t letting up anytime soon. Each time lightning flashed, it illuminated her silhouette, the way her chopped hair fell around her face. Most days, Terra was able to handle his ache to touch her just fine.
Tonight, he snuck behind her in some feeble attempt to scare her. As expected, her reflex to defend herself kicked in - she sent an elbow straight back, which he grabbed. She laughed, her other hand right on his as he wrapped his free arm around her waist. She never seemed to learn that tackling him using just physical strength was always futile. Being this close to her, he could faintly smell notes of vanilla and lavender. He threw her onto the blankets, her laugh the sweetest sound next to the rain.
The sky was painted in shades of bright oranges and deep pinks. Sunsets in Twilight Town seemed to make the sandstone that shaped the architecture stand out all the more.
To see light again - after what apparently had been thirteen years of pure darkness, with nothing to see or touch - was an indescribable feeling.
Hearing voices that weren’t Xehanort’s took a few days to accept. The smell of food was overwhelming. The sights were unbelievable. He had spent such long hours in darkness with nothing but repeating memories and dreams. Anything he saw in his mind those years was probably warped. Seeing color again made him weep with happiness for the first several hours. Best of all, there was no Xehanort left to speak of - at least not speaking to him in his head.
But that was the biggest problem. He woke up, and didn’t understand why or remember what led to it. He was left to die in the middle of a desert, with four furry legs and an inability to walk properly. He was saved by a talking meerkat and warthog who took him to an oasis. It was there he met a young lion by the name of Sora. It didn’t take long for him to meet others, like his most esteemed successor, Riku.
Terra would describe the two of them as saviors. They helped him retrieve his armor and his Keyblade. Kept him up to date with all of the latest happenings. Listened to him when he briefly spoke about his past. But it had been two days since Riku came back from the Realm of Darkness, from a mission to find her. Avoiding Terra was such an understatement to describe how often he refused to answer calls.
That left Terra on guard duty in this quiet, peaceful town, checking the communicator they gave him every five minutes to see if Riku had finally replied. He listed every possible reason why he was awake in the first place.
He also replayed memories to himself, since he had no friends to share them with. Sneaking notes to Ventus during their study time, unable to stifle giggles. Ventus would write back to him the worst puns. Aqua sat right by him, her brow twitching every time they laughed as she glued her nose to a book. Until she grabbed the essay she was writing and smacked Terra right on the head, begging for some peace and quiet.
She was the same as him, though - she failed to contain a giggle of her own. They spent their entire childhoods with endless teasing like this - it was the easiest way to get her attention. When he got older, he wanted more from her, attention that was different than what he was used to. It was possible that he probably could have received it if he had asked. But old habits just didn’t break.
To think that was thirteen years ago, and he spent those last few moments they had together by shutting the both of them out, going out on his own, and hiding a bunch of truths he should have, could have, and would have shared with them. He could have been sharing this beautiful sunset-lit view with them now.
I didn’t even congratulate her for becoming a Master. I’ve ruined us.
He walked through the streets of Twilight Town, and checked his communicator again. Nothing. The buildings were tall, and it looked like magic was at work with the way the sun seemed to brighten every angle. Except for a hooded figure. So black was the cloak that it stood out like a mess of paint.
The hooded figure, a woman, saw that he noticed her, and bolted straight toward the forest outside of town.
“Hey!” He sprinted, following her into the trees, away from the ears of any civilian. She was lithe in her movements, almost floating in a way, using shadows to make her fly faster, to make her jump higher, to help her speed.
They reached a clearing, some decent patches of grass where thick tree trunks wouldn’t get in the way. She stopped and faced him, her hands melting into cascades of ever flowing shadows that seeped out from her long sleeves. Until they thinned out and hardened. He summoned his Keyblade, and she whipped.
The Master usually said that Terra excelled in staring down his opponents. In facing them with bravery. In analyzing their skills and preparing accordingly. The woman was a mage, a sorceress that utilized shadows that were able to bend to whatever she wanted them to be. She floated in the air, using mainly her whips for offense, at times trying to grab him. Not once did she say a word.
There were only two things that Terra needed to keep in mind: do not fall to his knees, and do not keep his eyes away from his enemies.
Most of the fight was just a flurry of strikes that were blocked by others. But it was her dodging that gave him the first sense of unsettling dejĂĄ vu. He moved to slam her with his Keyblade, and she maneuvered a handless cartwheel to her left. A twirl here. A backflip there. Each dodge an opportunity she took to sneak up on him later. But each one was something he almost expected.
What hurt the most were his obliques. He gripped them as leaned onto his Keyblade. At least he wasn’t thrown down.
He waited for an opportunity to hit, and it looked like she waited for the same. The smoky shadows that kept pouring out of her long black sleeves still formed those annoying whips, but she kept them close to herself.
The woman made the next move. She flailed her right arm first before closely following it with her left. Terra maintained his defensive stance, blocking each strike as she continued to wail at him. He could feel that he was getting a bit more sluggish every second. So he darted the next strike and sprinted at her with all his might, raising the incredibly heavy Ends of the Earth to hit her as hard as he could.
She dodged, and dodged again. He stopped, and there they waited. Again, there was that itching feeling in the pit of his stomach. Something about the way she was moving. It was acrobatic. It happened at all the exact moments that never left him surprised.
He kept his Keyblade close and he breathed hard. What was worse than being this injured and fighting a new enemy this powerful was the thought that was threatening to leave his mouth.
And he didn’t have the strength to keep it in. “Aqua?”
The shadows didn’t exactly dissipate. They crawled right back into her sleeves, gloved hands forming in replacement. She started to remove the hood that was hiding her face.
The hand that held his Keyblade became weak. It felt like his face went cold, and he might as well be floating in the air since he forgot the pain he was under. Her hair had gone mostly white, save for the roots which were still blue. Her eyes were bright as always, but instead of bearing that enamoring azure color he kept a memory of all these years, they were amber. And they were furious.
All at once, Terra forgot he was breathing. He slowly walked forward, holding his hand out, but stopped himself short from touching her. She stood still, the look of wrath never wavering.
“I don’t understa-” He choked on a sob, and willed himself to hold it back.
She smacked her lips, and took a moment to respond. Her expression was fully unnatural for her.
“You understand exactly who you’re looking at,” she said with a low voice, but with an intensity that told him she was ready to strike again.
Of course he knew. He was looking at a parasite, during its gestation. It almost felt like he was going to faint, his face losing all feeling. “Why?”
There were small micro twitches throughout her face - her nose, her mouth, her eyes. As if she was enraged by the question and tried her hardest to contain it.
After what felt like forever of her staring at him this way, she asked, “did you ever think of me all these years? Just once?”
Terra let out a harsh gasp. “Of course I did!”
She breathed in slowly. “Then what was I doing, sitting in the dark all by myself this entire time? Hm?” She cocked her head at that last hm? But he had no proper answer.
Then she said, in a softer voice, “were the worlds safe the entire time I was gone? Was there a point to any of it?”
He shook his head slowly. His eyes burned and his throat constricted.
“And what were you thinking when you left us there to chase you around world-to-world?” she continued, her jaw quivering. “What was going through your head when you refused to come home?”
Again, he had no answer. She straightened her head, and strange sense of calm washed over all the movements that flooded her face before.
“You’ve ruined us,” she said.
Terra slowly dropped to his knees, leaning on his Keyblade. He stared at the ground.
“I know,” he said, failing to keep his voice steady. “Everything is broken, and I don’t know how to put it back together.”
He took in two breaths. She must been staring at him, because she didn’t move. He told himself to keep it together before speaking again. It was breathy, the way he said it. But it was the most strength he had.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you when you needed me.”
No answer. He willed himself to look at her, even though he was terrified of what he would see. Her brows were slanted harsher than before, her lips so pursed that she must have been grinding her teeth. Aqua never used to get this angry.
If this was the most frightening she would get, then the only terror left to face was to tell her the truth. As crazy as it was. All these years of saying nothing, though, only to hit him back where it hurt the most.
“I’m sorry I never told you earlier,” he said, his voice surprisingly calmer like he was ready for the execution. He felt his eyes soften, but he refused to cry. “I love you.”
Her eyes quivered and they watered. Her mouth relaxed into a the beginning of shock as her eyes went wider.
He prepared for an attack, but then her face changed. It became... cold almost, and her eyes glassed over, almost like she suddenly became a different person. She reached her hand into her pocket, and threw something so hard that it told him she hated him. It hit him in shoulder, and bounced onto the dirt.
Her bright blue Wayfinder.
Fair enough. She slowly turned to walk away, leaving him and his unsteady breaths.
What to say to make her stay?
“What about Ven?” he called out. There was no way she would abandon him. No way she would put him in danger.
She stopped, but refused to face him. It took way too long for her to reply, and it was impossible to read what she was feeling through her voice. “I don’t... need you to find him.”
Aqua kept going, disappearing into the trees. For the moment, Terra didn’t feel much of anything. It seemed that his body responded by simply denying everything he had seen. He eyed the Wayfinder, the only spark of blue that is among this forest baked in sunlight.
The sound of crumpling leaves and twigs crept up behind him. “She dealt a stronger resistance than you did,” said a voice that was soft, but only mock-pleasantly so. “Either way, her ability to continually struggle with it usually turned toward our favor.”
It was a young man, seemingly younger than Terra, with white hair, dark skin, and bright yellow eyes. There was no denying who this was. Xehanort, but a teenage version of him. How this was possible was beyond Terra’s understanding - not that he was able to mull over the reasons right now. The shock of seeing such a face nearly put him in a stupor.
This Xehanort smiled - it was a smile that oozed superiority, and it was perpetually different from the way an older Xehanort would have done it. The Master was practiced in pretending. This one still had a long way to go.
Terra only stared at him. This Xehanort wasn’t the one who told him continually, all these years, how he was good for nothing. That it was all his fault. That there was no one in the world who wanted him around. Still, it didn’t matter.
“What are you talking about?” Terra said, trying hard to keep his voice steady. There was no way he was going to give this bastard the benefit of hearing him in pain.
Xehanort maintained a smile. “She isn’t as frantic about resisting it as you were. On some level, part of her desired it. I believe most of it was due to the fact that she can now remember what it is like to feel again, and that she is free to roam where ever she may please.”
Terra let out a scoff that melted into a laugh. “Just shut up,” he said calmly. “She would never have-”
“But she did.” A glisten in the eyes, like rubbing salt on a wound. “She traded herself, for you.”
Terra held his breath. He shook his head, very quickly, and didn’t allow himself to gasp.
“You were a liability,” Xehanort continued. “We thus sought a more proper candidate who was primed for the responsibility.” He crossed his arms, his smile widening just a bit more. “I don’t believe she understood exactly what she was getting herself into.”
“You took everything from me.” Terra’s voice shook now. He hated himself for it, and he gripped the handle of his Keyblade so hard that his knuckles turned white. Eraqus was dead. Ventus was still missing. Now Aqua was taken.
Xehanort pretended not to hear it. “So much unspoken and forgotten emotion.  This made her much easier to manipulate than-”
Terra lunged at him, the latter summoning a Keyblade that was unrecognizable. Another mage, just like the old man, but much more temporal. Much more willing to let himself be distracted by anger.
And without a foreign will to bend the mind, Terra was free to let loose any ounce of darkness he was still scarred with. It was like unlimited power, fed by a hatred so deep, Terra wished he could end him there - take the life of a teenager, and everything in time and space would reverse.
It left the young Xehanort disarmed and up against the trunk of a tree, with his shoulder lodged under Terra’s substantial Keyblade. Without magic, Xehanort was just as weak as any, unable to wrestle out of Terra’s grip.
“I’ll take her back,” Terra said, and this made Xehanort sneer through his nose.
The he heard her voice. “Let him go.”
She stood there, shadows snaking up along her cloak. She wasn’t in a stance to attack, but her voice demanded submission all the same.
Surrounded by two enemies now... although one of them was someone he would never fight again, knowing now who she was.
He turned to face Xehanort, and said, “the next you see me, you’ll be afraid.” His voice was so low, it was only meant to be heard by one person.
Terra ripped his Keyblade out of the trunk, and Xehanort stumbled a bit, breathing hard.
The least he could do was keep his eyes on the enemy - at her. She was still Aqua, maybe she would always be. But not right now.
She held his stare until her eyes started to tremble, and she was the first to break contact.
“We have work to do,” she said to Xehanort, before turning her back. The teenager didn’t look too pleased with her reaction, but he gripped his shoulder and followed suit.
They walked some distance, where another man in a cloak, who was fairly large and very tall, waited for them by a gateway made of shadow. This man also had white hair that was long enough to drape his shoulders. Most surprising was his face - Terra’s face. Aqua walked through the corridor without acknowledging this man, but the man followed her with his gaze, and it made Terra uncomfortable to witness. Xehanort also disappeared through the gateway, and the man eyed Terra one more time before going through himself.
Alone. A gentle breeze shook the leaves that still took refuge in the canopies. Terra realized he was still gripping his Keyblade with an iron will, but forcing himself to relax opened a dam of tears to pour from his eyes instead. He walked over to the blue Wayfinder, and fell on his knees when he tried to pick it up.
Terra let the tears fall, barely breathing. His chest hurt the most, and he told himself that he wouldn’t vomit.
He held the Wayfinder to his forehead. When was the last time she truly smiled at me?
The morning of the Mark of Mastery exam. They stood together, right before opening the back doors to the entrance hall. The sun shone so brightly through the windows. The mountains were still green from the summer season. She looked at him, and with two fingers, traced the shape of a smile on her lips. Her own followed, and whenever she smiled - when she was really happy - her eyes sparkled. He remembered smiling back, although it was lie to say he wasn’t nervous. They were silent. Then they graced each other with good lucks and shook hands. It was the last time he had ever touched her, as well.
Tears continued to drip. He stroked the Wayfinder with his thumb, his nose stuffed up.
Peculiarly, he felt a nub at the back of the trinket. He flipped it to see a tiny, rolled up piece of paper taped there. He gently unrolled it, careful not to destroy the beautiful details she poured her heart into the creation of this star-shaped charm. The scroll was tiny and narrow, and it had three lines.
The first - her handwriting, soft and elegant:
Find him. May your heart be your guiding key. You just need the right one.
The others - still hers, but they were scratchy, as if she was being tortured when she wrote them:
It cannot break.
It hurts so much.
Terra let out a breath, the last of his tears tracing his jawline. “I know it hurts,” he said out loud. “But you’re going to be okay. I’m going to fix this.”
With a refreshed bravado, Terra stood up quickly, and hustled back to the motel he was staying in. The sun was disappearing behind the horizon, and most of the sky was dark. He turned on only the bathroom light, so that the bedroom was illuminated by it and what remained of the sun. He placed the communicator on the dresser and made his way to the narrow standing mirror right by the windows.
He began to undo the clasp that held the string of her Wayfinder together.
A question she asked him a few weeks before their Mark of Mastery exam rang in his mind...
“Do you know what I would haunt you for, if I ever turned into a ghost?”
They laid next to each other that stormy night, on top of several blankets, with some pillows they took from the lounge sofas. She was on her side, facing him, while he opted to rest on his back. Close enough to touch each her, and damn, he wanted to.
He allowed a half-smile. “No, what?”
She rolled onto her back. “The fudge cake you rejected for your sixteenth birthday.”
“Oh please-”
“It had multiple layers-”
“I already apologized for that-“
“And I worked so hard on it-”
“It’s not that your baking is bad. Far from it. I just needed a change of diet.” He scoffed and added, “I still ate it, anyway.”
“I even put strawberries on top.” He could see in the dark that her smile was smug.
Terra snarled. “I’d haunt you for driving me crazy.”
She giggled and rolled back to face him. Her eyes were just as beautiful and bright at night. “But seriously though,” she said, “we should make a pact about this. And it should be a serious one.” She thought for a moment. “Hey, why did we stop making blood oaths?”
He laughed. “You forgot about that? We decided that it hurt too much to prick our fingers for everything single stupid thing. We were doing them for reasons like saving each other from being stuck on a tree.”
She snorted. “I think when you’re eight or nine, being stuck on a tree is a scary enough ordeal.”
“We still made pacts, though. We agreed to replace them with pinky shakes.” He smiled at her. “Don’t you remember? We said they meant just as much.”
“Okay then. Let’s promise to save each other’s souls if we ever turn into ghosts.” She held out her pinky finger. “What do you say?”
He gazed at her for a moment, and lightning struck. He wished he could hold her by the waist to bring her close to him.
He hooked her pinky with his own. “I guess you’re worth the trouble.”
... Terra wore the Wayfinder around his neck. Its bright blue stood out against the earthy tones of his clothes. He placed his hand on his sternum, underneath the trinket, as he stared at the mirror. It felt light on his chest, sitting close to his heart.
From her peripheral, a small light blinked from his dresser. A message on his communicator. It was Riku. The message said that Sora found a Keyblade washed up on the beach of their home world, and Riku asked if they could come together to investigate it.
Terra looked back through the windows, seeing that the sun left a sliver of red along the horizon. The stars were bright. He reached up to touch her Wayfinder again, and stepped out of the motel to summon his glider.
YOOOO so if you haven’t heard, I’ve gotten some requests to expand on this and include Terra saving her and their eventual reconciliation. Let me know if that’s what you would like, as I’m mulling it over!
Thank you guys so much for reading this! Especially to those of you who stuck by this particular story. The mention of the Keyblade that Sora found is essentially inspired by the multiple theories that were popping up all over the place over the very first trailer for Kingdom Hearts III, where Sora found Eraqus’ Master Defender on the beach of Destiny Islands - possibly hinting that Aqua was severed from it when she turned into Aquanort. Most of these theories say that it’s the key to finding Ventus - since it would be terribly out of character for her to put him in such danger. I just wanted to play with a tragic love story. I hope you guys enjoyed this!!
KH Catch Up: KH2FM Part Incredibly Sassy
So apparently I forgot about posting this before we played a bunch so here’s a long post about commentary! All the revisits, dubbed PART WHATEVER are short since that story section was quite short.
"What were we doing again? Right we were looking for the swirlies."
HOLLOW BASTION
"Oh hello wiggly bois."
"Oh, it's Advent Children Cloud. Oh god this is him in his edgy bastard game."
"Sephiroth? Sora, we got bodied by him."
"Aerith, you aren't dead in this timeline."
We detract to go visit our very good friend Pooh. He still does not remember the Sora.
"What is that? Who are you? Hmm, I wonder who they could have been talking about." "You really don't remember who those are?" "I genuinely don't. Gimme a name." "You gotta promise not to be made at me." "Okay."
And then I found out he's NEVER PLAYED FINAL FANTASY X OR X-2.
"Remember how KH1 was press X to win?" "Yeah?" "Well KH2 is press X AND Triangle to win." "Gotcha."
-suddenly Leon- "WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?"
"Why are we now in Aperture Science? Oh of course Ansem runs Aperture Science, of course he's Cave Johnson."
"Uh, hi Stitch? WAIT IS STITCH IN THIS GAME?"
"Hi GlaDOS." -at Master Control-
SPACE PARANOIDS
"Oh this is I have No Mouth but I Must Scream. No wait this is like Ready Player One!"
"Tron." "FINALLY!"
"Sora.EXE. Donald.EXE. Goofy.EXE"
"No we're Digimon."
"THIS IS REBOOT!"
"Good thing we have a giant key. Wait do we still have our giant key? WE DO STILL HAVE OUR GIANT KEY!"
Finding out Tron's user was Ansem the Wise "He's out best friend! -cough-"
BACK TO HOLLOW BASTION
"But, if we go by my theory that Ansem the Wise is different from the Ans-hole we killed, we have hope."
"Door to Darkness?"
"Mickey!"
"Yeah like Ansem is super dead!"
BACK TO SPACE PARANOIDS
"I've played Deadline in GTA. I can do this."
"Yeah we'll be fine once we access the Door to Darkness, that's never gone wrong."
-at the mini boss- "You know you could have froze him, and then used your Set Up limit?" "Yeah well I didn't think of that so uhhhhhh..."
HOLLOW BASTION AGAIN AGAIN
Through various self pats on the back of being the best plot detective, he is very smug with himself.
"Sephiroth- wha, what are you compensating for?!"
"Uh bitch? Step away from my computer? Uh no- no..."
"Oh my god, have you heard of an elevator? That's a ramp, you could slide down that thing!"
I need to make an excuse me count for the amount of times he's said it about the plot.
"HOW MANY ANSEMS ARE THERE?!"
Demyx appears "Oh do we gotta kill a bitch?" He has no idea.
It only took him too tries.
"Good thing Goofy took that hit, he's got plot armor!"
"Oh nevermind, he's super fucking dead!"
"THEY KILLED GOOFY! BUT HE'S IN THREE, I KNOW THEY DIDN'T KILL HIM!"
"Goofy your husband is mad at you."
"Are we about to Dynasty Warriors this?" Thus the battle for 1000 Heartless began. He very much enjoyed himself.
"Mickey would rather jump through a door to darkness than answer the fucking question."
REVISITS
PORT ROYAL
"I like how they waited for us to have that little exchange before the fight."
"This really ruins the mood when you can see Donald, Goofy, and Anime-Sword-Boi in the background."
Gains a summon "Yay Peter Pan! He'll shank a bitch!"
LAND OF DRAGONS PT WHATEVER
"Oh no not this again."
"Wait, I know that sword. Riku how could you?"
"How many times do i gotta teach you this lesson old man?"
He does not approve of Xigbar running away.
"Man Shang's gonna kick our asses if Mulan dies."
"I know the city's in danger but there are chests here can you guys handle a little burning for five minutes?"
That must be Riku! "Only he's that much of an asshole to us!"
BEASTS CASTLE PART WHATEVER
"I just realized Belle is a furry."
"This room gives me PTSD. I just remembered bitch face."
"Hello bitch. We never learn when to quit!"
He then tried the Marluxia fight.
"WHAT IS THAT? WHY DO I HAVE A TIMER? WHY IS THERE A HIT COUNTER! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? HEAL IS POINTLESS IN THIS WHY DID I HEAR I DIDN'T MEAN TO HEAL- NONONONONO STAY AWAY YOU JUST STAY OVER THERE- NO NO NO FUCK GOD DAMN- WHY IS MY MAGIC TAKING SO DAMN LONG TO RECOVER NOOOO!!"
He died.
"We are coming back when we are much higher level."
"Now where has the asshole gone?"
"Worry not! I've defeated the monters-OH NO MORE MONSTERS."
"Mr.Steal-Yo-Girl, literally!"
"Technically he is out of your castle."
"Alright, let's fuckin' do this you Noctis wannabe."
"Wow this guys sucks."
He had to be saved by Mickey. The silence of concentration is strong with this one.
"Aww, nothing like a little murder to start a romance."
OLYMPUS COLISEUM AGAIN
"Have we tried this one yet? Was he a bitch? He's not gonna be as bad as Marluxia right? Right?" "I'm not saying anything." "Oh, he doesn't have that many health bar, comparatively."
He got meteored in the nerd realm, had to play guess who with the colours. Some commentary consisted of:
"What the fuck?"
"Shitshitshitshit."
"What is that?!"
"I'M TRYING TO HEAL."
"You think Hades would learn to stop hiring anime swordsmen by now."
"Hades, I kicked your ass before and I'll do it again."
"You're gonna fall into your well of souls and die, or get a powerup. Okay it's the later."
"Hey Auron we need protection, we do. -raises hand-  We need protection."
"Did we get a constellation. BITCH WE GOT CONSTELLATIONS! FUCK YEAH! We're the best!"
HALLOWEEN TOWN PART WHATEVER
"What, have you had Lock, Shock and Barrel be your assistaants?" "Yes, actually." "You IDIOT."
"Why do you still have that costume?"
"There it is, theres Goth Santa."
"These three are everything awful about children."
"THEY GET EACH OTHER OUT?! Oh I fffff..."
"Wait, we can beat up the children?"
"We're being invaded by hell monsters, I thought you should know."
"No, Jack it's what's inside- oh Santa's gonna be mad at you..."
"Did the Organization really konk Dr. Finklestien on the head and steal his thing?"
"Why is there a face on his crotch?"
"That ending was tooth-rottingly sweet."
AGRABAH PART WHATEVER
"Didn't we buy Jafar from that shady merchant?"
"He learned Misty Step- no, Dimension Door."
"WE WENT THOUGH SO MUCH EFFORT TO PUT HIM IN THE LAMP!"
Vexen Absent Silhouette
"Are you ready for Panic Episode 12?"
"Who dis bitch? I recognize him but I don't remember his name."
"Does he make clones of me?"
"He's doable."
To Jafar. "Maybe adjust your tactic? You've tried the same thing twice now and it hasn't worked."
"Did Organization XIII steal the lamp?"
PRIDE LANDS PART WHATEVER
"We're going back to the Pride Lands?" "Yeah." "You know what that means?"
"Yeah....."
"I really want a member of the Organization to show up just to be the only human in this world."
"Simba has literally no training on how to be a king. He doesn't know what people need! Do you think when he was out there for like ten years he was learning resource management? Macro economics?"
Deja Vu joke count has broken the number counter, and he moves exclusively by drifting now.
"Simba that's not a very kingly answer. Yes, you say yes, not 'I don't think so."
He then put the entire Hyena fight on hold to get that one hovering puzzle piece. It was only through a final act of self depreciation he finally jumped to it.
"Boss fight! He's very large."
HOLLOW BASTION PART WHATEVER
"Yuffie were you hiding? You're a ninja, you're supposed to hide to win!"
NOW IT TIME FOR POOHBEAR
The medicine is now whiskey and everyone is underage to drink it. How dare he.
"Is-Pooh's Astral Projecting!"
"That's me! Younger me! Past me! Previous me! Me in a past tense!"
"YAY AWW I like it. We're holding his hand. WE GOT A KEYBLADE!"
He got a Cosmic Ring. He then proceeded to act as if someone had given him a thousand dollars and hugged me.
"THIS IS SO WHOLESOME!"
Adventure Episode 23
Fresh off swan-boating out of sight, Matt and Gabumon find themselves on an unfamiliar shore, where they witness a Frigimon, Monzaemon and Kokatorimon heading up a hill and decide to follow them.
The digimon head into a restaurant where a Veggiemon is acting as manager and waiter, and find that Joe and Gomamon are working as kitchen staff. It turns out that Demidevimon led them there, and when Joe tried to pay the bill in yen he discovered they only accept US Dollars.
Tumblr media
So yeah, tricked into slavery, presumably because Veggiemon is a bit nuts and won’t let them work off the meal in a reasonable timeframe.
Yep, next scene shows Veggiemon asked them to work 3 days for the food costs, then kept finding excuses to up the debt such as “wasting ingredients“.
Tumblr media
Also the restaurant owner is an egg. An ultimate level egg. With a weird accent I can only describe as “Igor“.
Matt tells Joe that he needs to get back to TK, but will come back and help him work off the debt. Before he can leave however, Demidevimon appears in Digitamamon’s (The egg) office and bribes him to keep Matt and Gabumon on site as well.
Digitamamon: Where do you think you’re going? Your shift starts now so get inside and get cooking or you’re fired!
Matt: I quit then.
Despite acting cool in the face of this non-sequitur, Matt is forced to stay when Digitamamon tells him “There’s no telling what kinds of accidents your friend might have in the kitchen if you go.“
The next few scenes show Matt failing to communicate the hostage situation and Joe being a doormat and getting another 20 days added to his sentence.
We get a scene of Demidevimon trying to sabotage Joe, then Sora coming out of the bushes and undoing the sabotage before going back into hiding. I have no goddamn clue why Sora is lurking about so much.
Demidevimon approaches Matt and in a move that’d only work in a children’s cartoon, plants the idea Joe is intentionally extending their debt to screw with him.
Tai and TK eventually find the place using the digivice radar function, and Joe immediately greets them with “I’m so glad you guys are here, please don’t break anything!”
Tai points out it’s a restaurant, they can just leave, it’s not like there are any armed guards. Matt says he’s not leaving if it means going anywhere with Joe, who wants him to stay at the restaurant. Logic doesn’t seem to be his strong suit.
Demidevimon shows up, Tai mentions that Demidevimon is evil and Matt immediately snaps out of his fog of stupidity.
And so they try to leave, triggering a fight scene with Digitamamon who bursts into flames and doubles in size.
Tumblr media
Digitamamon proves invulnerable to Garurumon’s attacks whilst he has his shell closed, and then Veggimon provides an extra complication in the form of a hostage situation.
Ikkakumon evolves to provide a distraction as Joe climbs onto the roof and manages to leap down on Veggiemon, freeing TK but getting caught up himself. He then tries to insist not to worry about him and just attack. Witnessing this is enough to activate Matt’s crest of friendship and allow Garurumon to digivolve to...
Tumblr media
A gay furry icon.
Digitamamon falls easy prey to Weregarurumon, who catches and dispels his Nightmare Zone attack and tosses him across the horizon. Veggiemon flees, and we get the everyone makes up scene, with Joe being commended for his bravery in the hostage situation. Matt apologises to him, and Weregarurumon devolves into Tsunomon offscreen.
We get a short scene of Demidevimon talking to his shadowy master and getting punished for his failures again, and this time we get a name: Myotismon.
Finally we get the group finding two radar blips, and of course they immediately decide to split up again.
