this dress is such a blessing tbh. many of the other long dresses have a level of bulk or detail that keep them from looking as elegant as i'd prefer. this dress in red + the duelist's boots were my rdm glam for a long time, but i've since retired it. now i'm considering an evil blue mage glam with it.

(Warning for a bit of Vaxleth critical discussion)

Anyway as someone who is not a Vaxleth anti but is just sort of neutral on them, I really like what TLOVM is doing with them. They have a lot of the same character beats but unlike the campaign, we get a slower burn. I think part of what’s always jarred me about Vaxleth is that because multiple years of character establishment happen off screen, the Vaxleth stuff all happens very fast from my perspective. And they keep elements of that (the Briarwoods fight I love you) but also in a way that feels true to Keyleth have her still struggle with those feelings. It’s both true to campaign and entirely adaptation.

I really like that Vax has come to the acceptance point/turning point of his journey and they’re not together yet. Vaxleth to me is so Angst that in the campaign a lot of their major moments are angst when what I tend to enjoy more in their dynamic is the joy they share together. They’re both weirdos! I also think the heavily angsty relationship in campaign dulls the angst of their parting in the finale (my opinion, I know it’s a rare one) because I was just so used to them already interacting in very deeply intense and emotional scenes. I can see a world in TLOVM where they really get to revel in the joy of their newfound relationship before fate rips it away (reminiscent of how Vaxleth are as a couple in the 80s-90s of the campaign).

This is very much a personal opinion because of how I as an individual react to Vaxleth in the campaign, but it excites me that I’m more excited for them in TLOVM. I think they’ll probably get together next season and I’m not apathetic about it like I thought I’d be.

i mean like other old men lovers i too like me some silver fox but we need to start appreciating old bald men. old men who went through male patter baldness and said FUCK IT and shaved everything off. takes guts to do it bc hair is such a big part of beauty standards. in almost every culture, every time period hair has always been very prominent. and losing your hair is considered a big shame. men(me included) are scared of balding bc its thought that youll lose a part of your attractiveness. and im a firm believer that a bald/shaved head fits everyone. dont listen to ppl who say your features arent 'sharp' or 'angular' enough to rock a bald head. its your fucking head. so the old men who have lived most of their life with baldness and grown into it and become comfortable in it should be appreciated as much as the old men with full head of hair.

Just FYI Hillary did something similar with her SuperPAC called #CorrectTheRecord:

Correct the Record was a hybrid PAC/super PAC founded by David Brock. It supported Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. The PAC aimed to "find and confront social media users" who posted "unflattering messages about the Democratic front-runner"

I have stopped trusting almost anything on social media to do with politics because propaganda is everywhere from all sides.

And quite frankly trolling is easy work. The point of paid and unpaid trolling is to solicit an emotional reaction from someone and getting someone upset specifically over politics is money. Bend the culture enough to this degree and people are suddenly not having civil and thoughtful conversations anymore and become afraid to ask questions. Anyone who has even a slightly different opinion or "wrongthinks" even when aligned with a particular group gets cyberbullied either back in the "correct" opinion or exiled from the mainstream.

It was once the mainstream for trolls to be banned and for moderators or even general users to just reply "don't feed the trolls" on internet forums. Civil engagement across differences in opinion was mostly the norm in many online spaces. Anyone trolling stuck out like a sore thumb and were gotten rid of or was thought to be boring.

Now trolling is like, mainstream online culture and especially as it relates to social issues and human rights. It peaks during election cycles. It's one of the more effective forms of propaganda and I'm not sure why liberals/Democrats feel their own party doesn't practice it or that they are safe from it. It especially peaked in 2016 I think because so many third party candidates became popular and more within the public eye and that was threatening to the two-party system. Or perhaps because both parties focused on pouring more money and resources into online propaganda. I saw the 2016 election cycle destroy 20 year relationships, divide families, and make every conversation feel like walking on eggshells. It was nuts. And then the pandemic occurred just a couple of years later and lasted a couple of years which created some distance and isolation for people even though there was some politics that came with that.

Just a thought for the night, but remember in 2016 there were all these accounts that seemed really really telling you all the ways Hillary Clinton was some kind of demon woman, just the worst, and really Trump wouldn't be worse and maybe he'd even be better?

and then it turned out they got banned for being literally Russian agents and never came back because spoiler they were?
