GUYS MY BRAIN HAD A THOUGHT AND I CANNOT STOP SCREAMING SINCE DISCOVERING IT

Episode 3 at the end of the episode where Ambessa walks up to Cait after naming her the new leader, we get this scene:

This is a Caravaggio painting with the name "Salome with the head of John the Baptist"

In short the story goes that Salome was granted one wish by King Herod and as she didn't know what to wish for she asked her mother. The mother wanted John dead and demanded his head earlier, but the King refused. Now that she could use Salome, she told her to ask for John's death and head and made Salome the evil woman in the story, although it was the mother who was seeking for revenge.

I had a course last semester at university in which we were analyzing "evil women" in history, narratives and fiction, and this story was part of it

AMBESSA JUST REMINDED ME OF THAT AND SHE WOULD BE A PERFECT EXAMPLE TO PRESENT FOR THAT COURSE AND I NEEDED TO SHARE THIS THOUGHT WITH THE WORLD I DON'T CARE IF IT'S JUST ME WHO SEES IT AND IS SUPER OBSESSED ABOUT IT. BECAUSE DAMN THAT PARALLEL IS SO GOOD AAAHHH. THANK YOU

Guess I'm back to tumblr now that Arcane S02 is here Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm gonna post stuff about S02 and if you are not up to date with watching there will be spoilers ahead!!! During S01 the brainrot was immense and my obsession suuuuper normal. We'll see what S02 will do to me xD ARE YOU READY CAUSE I SURE AM NOT
