Chapter 1: Overture

Once upon a time, there was a glowing city protected by golden gates, known as Heaven. It was ruled by beings of pure light. Angels that worshiped good and shielded all from evil. Lucifer was one of these angels. He was a dreamer with fantastical ideas for all of creation. But, he was seen as a troublemaker by the elders of Heaven. For they felt his way of thinking was dangerous to the order of their world.

So, he watched as the angels began to expand the universe in their ways. From the dust of Earth, they created Adam and Lilith. Equals as the first of mankind, but despite this, Adam demanded control, and Lilith refused to submit to his will. She fled the Garden. Drawn in by her fierce independence, Lucifer found her and the two rebellious dreamers fell deeply in love. Together, they wished to share the magic of free will with humanity, offering the Fruit of Knowledge to Adam's new bride, Eve, who gladly accepted. But this gift came with a curse. For with this single act of disobedience, evil finally found its way into the Earth. With it, a new realm of darkness and sin. And the order Heaven worked to maintain was shattered.

As punishment for their reckless act, Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created, never allowing him to see the good that came from humanity, only the cruel and the wicked. Ashamed, Lucifer lost his will to dream. But Lilith thrived, empowering demon kind with her voice and her songs. And as the numbers of Hell grew, so did its power.

Threatened by this, Heaven made a truly heartless decision. That every year, they would send down an army, an Extermination, to ensure Hell and its sinners could never rise against them.

However, there was one species of Hell Born that stood up against the Extermination. The Shifters. They had the amazing ability to transform into any animal. Their strongest forms, the Night and Light Fury's. Dragons able to channel lightening and electricity. They were the only beings in Hell that could truly kill an angel. The Shifters were dubbed the protectors of Hell. But one by one, the Angels killed the Shifters, bringing them to extinction. Hell had lost its only protectors.

Lilith's hope remained. And her dream was passed down to their precious daughter, the Princess of Hell.

Charlie Morningstar, the Princess of Hell and daughter of Lucifer, closed a book titled "The Story of Hell" and looked out over Pentagram City, her home. A small key levitated above her hand. She closed her hand around it, signing in sadness.

"Don't worry, Mom. I'll make you proud." Charlie said to herself. She looked sadly out the window to Pentagram City burning to the ground, just as Vaggie, Charlie's girlfriend, walked in.

"Charlie?" Vaggie asked. Letting out a startled yelp, the key Charlie was holding transformed into her pet cat, Keekee, who scampered away.

"Aah! Oh, shit. Did you hear all that?" Charlie asked, smiling slightly. Vaggie gave a small smile.

"Uh, yeah. I was right there." She said, pointing her thumb towards the door way. Charlie smiled, her cheeks flushing lightly.

"Sorry. I get pretty worked up after an extermination happens. The story helps." Charlie looked out towards the city again. Vaggie smiled and chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry. I enjoy your theatrics. Are you okay?" Vaggie asked, her smile falling into a frown of concern.

"I'm fine. Just... thinking, ya' know? Family stuff. Royalty stuff." She said. Vaggie smiled slightly.

"Have you found any evidence of any other Shifters? Have you heard any rumors?" She asked. Charlie sighed and shook her head.

"No. Not yet, at least. But, I have to hold onto hope. That there's still a Shifter out there, somewhere." She said, looking out at the city.

The TV started out staticky, before fixing and showing two demons stabbing each other.

Well, hello there, you wayward Sinner! Do you like blood, violence, and depravity of a sexual nature? Of course you do, that's why you're in Hell! But what would you say if I told you there was a place to stay that had none of that? Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel, a misguided path to redemption! Founded five days ago by Lucifer's delusional daughter, Charlotte Morningstar!

Charlie smiled to the camera and she waved at it. Angel Dust, one of the guests at the Hotel, put up "bunny ears" behind Charlie's head.

Come place your fate in her inexperienced hands, as she tries to work through her daddy issues by fixing you! Here we offer fun things, such as somewhat functional staff

The bartender, Husk, who was clearly drunk, passed out on the counter of the bar. Niffty, the hotel maid, tried to stab and chase after a bug.

And 24-hour pest control. Custom rooms, and just look at this tacky parlor! Enjoy riveting conversation with our singular resident. Wow!

Angel Dust flipped Alastor off, clearly showing no interest in the comertial or the person behind the camera.

You will feel safe and secure at the hotel thanks to our security!

[Y/N] gave a confident smirk and crossed their arms over their chest, again, Angel Dust video bombed [Y/N]'s appearance.

All this, and more at the Hazbin Hotel! Your last desperate attempt at salvation starts here!

The tv turned off and Alastor turned to Charlie and Vaggie with his ever present smile. [Y/N] stood next to their father, an uneasy smile on their lips.

"So, what do you think?" Alastor asked, the overlay of an old-timey radio station in his voice.

On the couch, Charlie wore a face of surprise, while Vaggie wore a face of anger. The commercial was anything but convincing. It was poorly misleading and very offensive to what they were trying to do.

"I'm sorry. What the fuck was that?" Vaggie asked angrily. Alastor tilted his head in confusion. Charlie gave an uneasy smile.

"Uh, Yeah. One note, Alastor, I mean, first off, thank you so much for making this seriously amazing, but um, maybe the tone is a bit off?" Charlie suggested. "We want people to want to come here. This makes it look, um..." She hesitated, trying to find the right words. Vaggie looked at her girlfriend.

"Bad. The word you're looking for is bad." She said bluntly. Alastor tilted his head, his eyes narrowing in feign confusion.

"Funny. I was going for hilarious." Alastor said, giving out jazz hands. Vaggie scoffed.

"It didn't explain anything about how we're trying to save demons from extermination, which is the whole fucking point." Vaggie said, still angry. Charlie nodded.

"Vaggie is right Alastor, the commercial was to let sinners know we are trying to help them." Charlie said, much kinder than her girlfriend. [Y/N] sighed and stepped forward.

"Okay, look," they started, gaining everyone's attention. "My dad has been missing for seven years. He just recently came back. Plus, he doesn't really like the television." [Y/N] said. Alastor nodded at his child.

"Quite right, my dear, and besides, everyone remembers me from my radio show, the proper medium to express oneself. But, you insisted on this noisy picture box advertisement." Alastor said, tapping the television twice with his microphone staff. "So, I had a little fun with it." Alastor said. Vaggie scoffed.

"Oh, fun? You had a little fun with it?" She asked. She stood up from the couch. "Well, this is not what we want to represent us. When you two showed up here a week ago, you told us you would help run this hotel. Instead, you're mocking us. And besides. What was the little bit about [Y/N] being the only form of security? What does that make me? Nobody's gonna wanna come to a place that a powerful overlord and his child think is a waste of time." Vaggie said. [Y/N] frowned and stepped forward.

"Hey. My dad and I are still agreeing to help you. We haven't gone back on our word. Plus, I don't think your hotel is a waste of time. I actually like the idea." [Y/N] said, giving a lopsided grin. Charlie looked at the person in surprise.

"You do?" She asked. [Y/N] nodded.

"Yeah. I mean, everyone deserves a second chance, right?" [Y/N] asked. Charlie gave [Y/N] a genuine, thankful smile. [Y/N] smiled back. From his spot on the opposite side of the couch, Angel Dust rose his hand. Vaggie groaned and looked over at the Spider Demon.

"What?" Vaggie asked angrily. Angel smiled, undeterred by Vaggie's angry expression.

"If you're filmin' a commercial, can I suggest you take better advantage of the talented celebrity you have right here!" Angel said, holding a bottle of beer in one hand while pointing the other three hands at himself. Vaggie looked at him like he had lost his mind.

"Angel, you're a porn star." Vaggie said.

"A famous porn star, I'll have the horniest sinners knocking these walls down to get in." Angel said, confidence ringing in his voice. Vaggie sighed.

"We are not filming a porn as a commercial." Vaggie said. [Y/N] nodded, looking at him.

"I agree with Vaggie on this one, Angel. Maybe porn isn't the best way to go about this." They said. Angel shrugged.

"Why not? Sex sells don't it? I swear if you film me going at it with Mr. fancy talk creepy voice here," Alastor appeared right beside the couch where Angel was laying. "You'd be rolling in participants willing to stay at this tacky hotel." Angel said. Alastor laughed with amusement.

"Ha. Never going to happen." Alastor said, his eyes narrowing. [Y/N] narrowed their eyes at Angel and placed their hands on their hips.

"We are absolutely not using my dad in porn." [Y/N] said. Angel looked at [Y/N] and chuckled.

"Heh. Isn't daddy supposed to protect his little angel." Angel mocked, smiling at [Y/N]. Said person lowered their hands, curling them into fists and growling at him.

"I can protect my dad as much as he protects me." [Y/N] said, glaring at the Spider Demon. Alastor went over to [Y/N], placing a hand on their shoulder.

"I appreciate the sentiment, my dear. However, I am fully capable of protecting the both of us." Alastor said. Charlie cleared her throat and smiled uncomfortably at Angel.

"Angel, I appreciate you wanting to use your special skills to, um, attract folks to the hotel, but I really don't want to exploit you in that way." Charlie said, her eyebrows furrowed. Angel smiled at her.

"Oh, please, baby. This body was made to be exploited. I got the arms, I got the stamina, I got the legs. I got the lung capacity. Oh ho, I got the legs!" He said. "The gag reflex, the holes, the chest fluff everyone thinks are tits," Angel was counting on his fingers. Charlie chuckled uncomfortably. Suddenly, Charlie's phone started ringing. Her eyes widened.

"Hold that thought! I'll be right back." She said. She got up, taking her phone with her.

"I could keep going all night, baby!" Angel said, smirking.

"Hello? Dad?"

OC STUFF PART 1

Hello! My name is Jooji! i am gonna start to post here again, both my OCS and Mod content! this first post is just a small explanation of my world building! every post after is just gonna be about ocs, fanart or my minecraft mods. This world has no name..neither any of the stories i am telling on it do either. its separated in 3 sessions (kinda of) Heaven, Hell, Earth a lot of the concepts are inspired by works like, Hazbin hotel, The good omens, Chainsawman, etc....its a lot of stuff. Earth is on its early 2010's, the main difference between this earth and our Earth is the existence of "hell-lings" they are tulpa-esque creatures that are born from the feeling of desire, fear or emotions for certain things (they are all themed around a specific object..concept..or creature), these creatures have been haunting the world as long as man-kind exists (and a bit before it even..), since then there would exist organizations to hunt and kill them, as early as the 1300+ , im still thorn between the name for them, ive been thinking of Hunters, exorcists, sorcerers..etc...im not sure yet These creatures can be made deals with, tho their level of intelligence will depend a lot on that. there are specific categories of these creatures, as more intelligent they get, more human-like they are, tho some of them are extremely intelligence and are eldritch like in appearence ( i will make a post in the future explaining them more in-depth), they can also be personification of existing entities like Death, or the devil (Lucifer), even tough both of them are already existing entities in the universe, more on them later.. There are other types of entities that live on earth, like spirits (Souls that failed to go to heaven or hell for some unknown reason), adjacent demons like Onis or any other folclore demons, these are Demons that were banished from Hell. In hell there are 3 types of entities Demons = Angels from long time ago Sinners = Humans from earth that fell into hell Arch-Demons = Ancient demonic entities born from the ancient war between hell and heaven. I tought of the concepts that, Sinners in hell , instead of reborn, become Hell-lings on earth, and their power or intelligence depended on how much power they had in hell, but im not sure yet. and then after a hell-ling is killed, its soul is truly set to rest, but powerfull hell-lings can go back to hell if they want, using their deals and power, hell is formed out of 8 Layers. The old angels floor, its a bit of a piece of heaven that fell down long time ago, its where the Demons usually live in, no sinners are allowed in this realm. then you have the usual, each layer is kinda of themed.. sorta of? the sinners and demons appearence can depend a bit on layer but thats not a rule Pride - a 1900-1950 esque architecture , not really much to say here tbh, i have to draw it some time. Wrath - Medieval esque, Satan is straight up Draconic because i wanted to allude to those medieval tales that Dragons were sort of Demons, architectury is pretty old looking, huge walls, etc. Envy - Inspired by medieval times as well, but more focused on stuff like Pirates, sea monsters..etc..the entire place is kinda of flooded of sorts, so the cities are always above the water (and sometimes under the water) Gluttony - Im really thorny on this one, i tought of some type of early 2000's vibe?..but im really not sure, what i know is that, i want the buildings all to be made out of hive-like material. Lust - 90's kinda of? purple? one of those i really dont know how to describe either lol. Lazyness - havent decided yet. Greedy - las vegas/ wild west type shit because i wanted to have an excuse to do characters in this vibe + i always associated wild west with cassinos for some reason, not sure why ? this is the end of part 1!

Maps by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

There's something very pleading about Maps which I have taken to. Most of the song is just this... it's suggested the Sun was courting another star, and I think this is exactly what was circling the Bazaar's thoughts as they carried that message.

Plus as much as the Bazaar is a monomaniac determined to their goal, I doubt they've missed how unpopular the Sun is. Yet it remains focused, anyway, believing this scheme must be worth it. Because others don't know the sun like she does, they don't love him like she does.

We really don't know jack hell about Sol's personality thoughts and feelings, and barely his actions. So anyway this.

I don't think Sol hates the Bazaar, no matter what he does or doesn't feel for them. But I think part of the Bazaar probably is angry at the Sun, even if she'd deny it. I like the idea of a role reversal in any extreme power difference dynamic like these two. Let the bazaar express pain and let Sol welcome it. Is what I'm saying.

I enjoy the "everlasting in a different moon" considering FL linking moonlight to alternate timelines. Is there a world where their relationship is perfect? Can a god dream?

I think it's very hard to stay grounded in reality when you control reality. When you can have anything you want (but a crab), that anything eventually becomes meaningless. People chase absolute power like it isn't a trap that kills who you used to be. Etc. Everything you see becomes what you want it to be, what you think it is, and so there is nothing new— only heaven.

I want it as a mutual happy ship but if the Sun only used the Bazaar for an experiment... the bazaar is one of the only beings that could totally murder Sol. It believes the words on its body would have/still might cause him to die— that's the reason for this whole 7 city scheme. If they wanted revenge, they are in a very good position to enact it.

Yeah, you've got that right (especially when the closest I can get to Death of the Author is whenever Lucas says he "always" intended to do something that's clearly shown in documents at the time to not have been the case at all, like Greedo shooting first instead of Han simply shooting Greedo to begin with, or even Vader and Anakin being the same person. I can't discount the Rebels as Vietcong that easily though, since unlike the other stuff where he was clearly lying his butt off, that actually WAS backed up by development notes at the time he started writing the films.). And not just with George Lucas, either. I've seen similar disrespectful treatment by Hideo Kojima and his Metal Gear series (his handling of the franchise rivals even George Lucas regarding constantly retconning itself).

As far as your last point, I definitely believe in God, and am a Christian myself (Catholic, more specifically). That said... let's just say that bit about God being in control of everything doesn't exactly give me good vibes. I appreciate your attempt at comforting me, but I don't exactly have that positive of an image of God currently. I guess I can actually blame George Lucas for that, that and my stumbling on the scene when I should have been napping while my parents had the TV on. I'm talking about the climax for Raiders of the Lost Ark. And unfortunately, both fictional media and even certain religious texts such as Jonathan Edwards' Sinners at the Hands of an Angry God worsened my views DESPITE my attempts at trying to view God as a loving father). Put another way, that bit about God being in control of everything makes me think more of these two characters (and they aren't meant to be depicted in a positive light at all. Well, the Patriots from Metal Gear Solid 2 certainly weren't. Bahamut from Final Fantasy XV is a bit more complicated in that he actually WAS meant to be depicted positively in the main game, but then Episode Ardyn came along and added grays to him by effectively revealing he was responsible for how Ardyn turned out in an attempt at getting rid of the Starscourge and then basically blackmailing him and even resorting to torture if he refuses, and then Dawn of the Future turned him into a full-on villain)

What's even more sad regarding Bahamut is that of all those characters, his Vanilla version came the closest alongside Zeno from Dragon Ball Super to outright rehabilitating me regarding my views on God, but then the creators of Final Fantasy XV (and also Dragon Ball Super, the latter arguably being even WORSE due to still treating Zeno as a pure good guy despite his taking joy at erasing universes and even planets and in the manga even planned to destroy more universes, but that's a discussion for another day) cruelly destroyed that bit, ESPECIALLY with Dawn of the Future.

Come to think of it, Darth Plagueis seemed to hint that about the Force as well considering Palpatine apparently was implied to have been conceived by it much like Anakin was (and apparently without any known outside influences, which even Anakin was at least the result of Sith meddling, though it's less the Sith actually created Anakin and more the Midichlorians created him in RESPONSE to said meddling). And it also doesn't help that Palpatine's... vision and communication with the Force right after offing Plagueis in the in-media-res prologue sounded more like an Old Testament reading that was specifically meant to foreshadow Jesus's arrival, the countless voices that will proclaim the lord's name bit (meaning he's less an anti-Christ figure and more of a... pardon the extremely blunt language, but outright bastardization of Jesus Christ himself, a demiurge at best [you know, essentially the Architect's role in the Matrix movies where he was clearly meant by the Wachowskis to be God instead of the devil.]. It certainly raises rather uncomfortable implications that the Force itself might even be evil itself.).

That elderly guy with the black mecha suit and eyepatch ranting about liberating himself from the Patriots? His English voice actor also voiced Luke Skywalker in the Dark Empire radio drama.

I loved your Hogwarts sorting + loyalty essay! But I'm having a hard time squaring Padme-as-Hufflepuff with what we see of her leadership style. Hufflepuffs operate in teams by establishing consensus (eg Ernie Macmillan's constant appeals to his audience, or Mark Watney's humour->group cohesion) but Padme is VERY independent. She'll ditch anyone who isn't performing and often steps in herself to solve things. She rarely consults others. I think her loyalty is ideological; she's a Gryffindor.

i have gone on and on about the devil here in what i suppose is a tl;dr of “i love drama, i love Akd Lucifer I Love You b/c [akd] and i do already think lucifer the devil is fun as a neutrally to sympathetically regarded dynamic being, i.e. being a lens for Whatever re: the human experience”

naturally i love things wherein the devil is like, a whole character through which the human experience is questioned, b/c for me being raised catholic now nonreligious it’s like well i sure know a good amount of Lore and then it’s really fun to explore that secularly / or at least wherein you’re not worried about blaspheming or heresy or anything when it’s like whoops, the thoroughly christian approach of “questioning your own faith / religion / god Is A Sin or at the very least like, the devil has a foot in the door, like when you respect other religions too much” type deal and can get exegetical & flexible. like what does any given religion mean for The Human Experience On Earth, in how people understand it & how their interaction / relationship with their own spiritual practices/beliefs affects their interaction / relationship with the world. which is Something when again another very christian thing can be like, oh this earthly realm doesn’t matter beyond whether you, individually, manage to spend your Eternal Life in heaven or hell, want the protestant work ethic where conveniently for some, you’d better reject any desire for earthly indulgences & instead righteously labor & endure material suffering? hope there’s nothing bad that can come out of cultivating any us vs them insular perspective where also questioning authority is wrong & dangerous & also things can only Really get good when we die / the world ends. & evangelism as a vehicle for religious war / paternalistic power structures. and who is questioning an authority like the devil is lol

anyways and naturally that Thee devil (christianity edition) doesn’t really crop up much definitively until suddenly a bunch of new testament mentions, and old testament stuff is like, is this even necessarily the same entity, there’s a serpent, there’s book of revelations dragons & whatever else is going on in there, there can be satans who are A satan vs Thee satan, it’s just like [not much definitive Hell lore] too of course & that you’ve got sheol, gehenna, hades, tartarus....and that there even being Fallen Angels isn’t definitively textual anywhere in the old testament, & there’s more like, there can be a satan who’s an angel who leaves heaven, tries to get humanity to sin, but is still of heaven / returns there when souls show up like oh you see, you sinned, you should be judged accordingly, & is there to serve as like, executioner for god. an adjudicator. but anyways that this is just that angel’s heavenly role, a la when there’s antics like satan being like “hey god i bet job wouldn’t worship you or whatever if he weren’t so blessed” and god being like “lol alright well let’s see then” like well, that’s just The job, sorry job. where it’s then really Something with like modern ideas of thee devil as Evil & God’s Enemy, yet still essentially having this role of [serving heaven & just being the hangman righteously punishing sinners] like, how’s that make sense lmfao, that’s not really in opposition to god for the evil devil who loves it when you sin to go hey i’m really disgusted & disappointed that you sinned & now i’m here to actively punish you for it. like Oh Kay but what a weirdo lmfao. basically still just doing a job there / how does that Necessarily oppose god

and then speaking of the fallen angels book of watchers lore it’s like. well there yeah it’s about nephilim like hey you watched too hard and were like humans are great and i love them and oops i’m having angelic sex with them, and that’s where you fall. just doing the job....yet for the idea of the devil being an Especial fallen angel has some different lore from various strains of ideas, lucifer coming into the mix, One Passage in i think ezekiel about a finely adorned cherub who was there in eden who was perfect upon creation until unrighteousness was found in them or whatever, again Extrapolated to be like okay so this one fallen angel / conflated with other mentioned figures, say, A Serpent....and then it’s like, all various interpretations about who this figure might be / what the whole deal is. like the eventual positing like oh lucifer’s problem? had to have been Too Much Pride, goething before a fall(tm). and then frankly it’s a lot of ideas like okay but who what where when why how did Pride become Falling. and there’s like, well, lucifer wanted to be better than god, or equal to god, or supplant god? lucifer knew that angels were supposed to serve humans, once humans were created, despite their inferiority to angels? lucifer knew that god would become human and because of that specific situation, angels would have to recognize that human as superior to themselves / their god, and was like, Hell no? the last one is so Especially wild b/c it’s like hello, the incarnation of jesus had to happen to cancel out humanity’s original sin which apparently happens because of the devil’s temptation, who has already fallen before the creation of the universe. what kind of closed loop? if lucifer had Foreknowledge of jesus’s existence then could lucifer Not rebel if that rebellion is simply already A Truth / essentially an inescapable fate? and here it’s like this is just like judas, apparently humanity Had to betray jesus to be saved, someone had to be the fall(tm) guy whether they were in on it or not? not to mention everyone else who might be implicated in the events. and even re: jesus, like, is this predestined, is there free will there? like how a person with no original or derivative (lol) sins had to be jesus’s mom but also got to agree to that. would being like “eh, i’d rather not” have been a sin. the idea that sin is an effect of an abuse / misuse / corruption of one’s free will, what’s all this mean, what’s it mean when there’s divine scripts that Must &/or Will play out and some people Must &/or Will sin accordingly

and of course having to decide “btw. what Is evil itself” before The Problem Of Evil re: having an omnipotent omniscient benevolent god, the idea that evil must’ve been created by god / god had/has some active role/responsibility in the existence of evil, the idea of “no to all of that,” the idea that evil is itself a necessary evil b/c it builds humanity’s character, or b/c it’s simply a byproduct of free will, or of creation itself, though it was not directly created & is rather an Absence of good like darkness as the absence of light, but not itself substantial / existing in its own right outside that context. and re: the devil that it’s like oh we can simply decide that the one thing definitely going on there is Separation from god, which may itself be what we consider Evil to be, or what have you. but you know, if even there is a thee devil as an entity who chose to separate themself from god without external temptation (which would suggest that evil exists without the devil as the originator, as is also an idea out there, vs a more manichean or zoroastrian model of light vs dark / creation vs destruction, although naturally i think it’s obvious that those ideas are associated with god vs the devil currently, as certainly is Good vs Evil, vs more simply god vs separation from / absence of god) it’s like. okay i lost my train of thought during that parenthetical aside lmfao but it’s like, is there necessarily malice required in that, or any drive for Evil / destruction, rather than something more neutral. it’s right there in the “hey, you can’t try to be as good as god or better than god or Above obeying god’s commands or whatever” that lucifer thee devil satan isn’t god, does that then suggest inherently being not of god, is that the idea of evil as an inherent byproduct of the creation of beings who are not god, is lucifer doing anything but existing as god’s creation through having pride (where’d that come from? just from being higher up on a hierarchy? what’s the hierarchy for, god? why’s one angel particularly prideful) or through rejection of an existence in complete harmony / unity with god (well i think literal Unity would technically be reserved for persons in the trinity lol. except the idea that jesus was separated from god during the crucifixion b/c Sin is Separation from God and jesus had to take on humanity’s sin for the whole thing to work) or rejection of some idea of what angels Have to do. which are all things that are byproducts of lucifer being a created being, where one can’t exercise free will to choose to have been created, but now here you are, not fully of god, which is a fact that maybe has inherent evil, and/or the idea that somehow evil was introduced into the heavenly situation Spontaneously. what was to be done lol. if one was created and then the creator was like “hope you’re ready to serve some humans” and one was like “what? to Hell with that” and then that necessarily results in choosing total separation from god, what’s going on there? what of the idea lucifer the devil was choosing Independence from god. or otherwise seeking some form of autonomy in either straightforward separation / deviation from god’s will and/or trying to rebel. if temptation/sin is Good For humanity b/c it teaches us to exercise our own wills correctly, which happens to be in alignment with god, is lucifer, who is not god & thus not perfect, not potentially bettered through temptation/sin. even if things are essentially shrugged off as A Mystery like well it’s divine being things and an inherently superior & alien matter that mere humanity can’t even grasp and it’s Different when lucifer the devil sinned b/c there was no other tempter & it was a completely informed decision, made in heaven, for total separation, it’s like damn couldn’t choose Partial separation? if there was Foreknowledge involved, why would the devil choose that total separation? why would a lesser being who’d know they couldn’t defeat god then or ever still decide to exist in eternal separation & supposed opposition to god anyways? what’s going on there. sounds like a lot of drama. are they making a point

which i’m saying is a segue b/c that paragraph is already quite long. into the idea “well since in this christian scenario, god is omnipotent, and Only god is omnipotent, why doesn’t god just destroy the devil” like [why do we exist, only to suffer?] problem of evil and where like. the idea “oh god just wants to make a point, kind of like with job, like oh you see? evil can’t win even if i don’t try to snuff it out in the first place. but also i Will destroy you eventually anyways, after the point’s been made to humanity maybe, or to you, the devil” but wherein again it’s like, this suggests that evil can’t exist without this specific entity, the devil, which is a particular Idea about things, but not the only idea about it all....certainly relevant how The Devil also sure hasn’t always been largely considered a major figure in christianity and could be like this sort of comedic impish side character lol. vs a threatening malicious adversary. just a funny little guy. but even if it’s the theoretical threatening malicious adversary, that’s only to humans, omnipotent omniscient god knows they can’t lose to the devil one way or another, and maybe the devil knows that too, why wouldn’t they. and yet they chose this path, why? let’s hear from the devil. are they like, well doing this means taking on this inevitable fate, but i too can do shit to just make a point? that’s very interesting to me lol. but anyways, there’s then also the idea that god must love lucifer the devil as one of god’s creations, thus refusing to destroy them. and also the idea that god cannot love lucifer b/c of the total separation / association with sin (is this a “an omnipotent god created a boulder so large the omnipotent god themself couldn’t move it” situation, or just a technicality i guess lol, or is it the same thing here, i.e. “if god can do anything can there be situations in which god Can’t do something, b/c that should be possible”). and also the idea that god won’t Destroy the devil anyways, the devil will simply eventually be out there, separated from god still, while ig humanity and the rest of creation Isn’t, or whatever is supposed to happen there. but that initial separation happened before the existence of that universe / while lucifer was totally in & of heaven, so couldn’t it happen again lol, here’s someone else who is separated. what’s Evil look like without anything else to affect, theoretically? what’s the separation look like. “eternal torment, totally” is an answer, but yknow, An idea about it. is that what that separation is like already? there’s also the idea that having fully chosen that separation / that separation itself means lucifer Can’t repent or whatever, but what’s tormenting them otherwise? is it just like ooh ouch eternal fire yep, ouch this sucks, also where’d this fire zone come from?? then there’s the idea that the shitty fire zone (gehenna style) can like, at least redeem Humans, who get to go to heaven eventually. why can’t it potentially do that for lucifer. can lucifer not theoretically repent or exercise free will again to go “well, i’ve Done the separation thing, now to the next thing.” can god not forgive lucifer. back to the idea of judas too, can he not be forgiven / redeemed. if judas had to do all that, lucifer had to do all that as part of the process also. is judas the first guy to betray someone to collect their bounty. jesus was getting crucified with a couple other utter randos too. like yep you too man? sucks. and again it’s about the angle of like, i love drama, i am also an existing human of the world, i don’t have to be reaching for conclusive christian theodicy / apologism here, the interest is like, what do these religious ideas mean re: humanity’s experience on earth and understanding of that experience. what happens to one’s prayers for judas or the devil. who’s got that quote. mark twain about who’s had the common humanity to pray for the devil as the sinner who needed it most. again, it’s maybe not so much of a generally christian idea about being able to question and Argue with god, much less that being like, righteous lmfao but it’s sure out there like hey god could you start doing this / stop doing That / Not do this thing you said you’re gonna do / hey god uhhh what the hell re: this thing you did. can you not flood the whole world again. watch me spend the whole night wrestling with an angel or maybe straightup god. what would be the point of minding one’s own business entirely like well so long as I’m going to heaven, nothing to pray For but myself, save as is obligatory re: thanks / worship, which is also just about Staying Right myself. lazarus couldn’t go “hey can you have me be alive again,” and yet. and again someone interested in it from the personal religious angle could decide to leave it at “idk it’s just Different for the devil than it is for people, and Unfathomable b/c the situation & entities are totally different from the human experience” and call it a day but it’s like well, zzz, b/c i’m here for the [how is everything understood re: the human experience]

then speaking of humanity, also the idea that Evil sprung from humans’ Original Sin in eden, which only involved a serpent’s temptation vs necessarily any introduction of evil externally. even though also there’s the argument like oh it totally was, which is what made it Different for humanity vs when lucifer did it. cue the post about god going “okay now definitely Don’t eat the fruit of this one tree that’s riiight over there....i’m omnisciently turning my back & stepping out for a while....” when there’s the situation of [my cat won’t drink water unless it’s mine so i leave a glass of water around & he thinks he’s being naughty but really he’s staying properly hydrated] and then “god in the garden of eden” tags lol. the idea that temptation/sin is necessary for humanity b/c it is good for the soul, to the point of the idea god has a direct role in the existence of evil. The Knowledge Of Good & Evil, which can possibly be understood via translation of the essence as “knowledge of everything” like [these two books contain the sum of all human knowledge: “what they teach you at harvard” / “what they don’t teach you at harvard” = implication of Everything contained in Diametric Opposite And Diametric Opposite]. the idea of the also barely biblically mentioned lilith as the first wife of adam who was like banished for refusing to be obedient / subservient to adam. lucifer banished for refusing to be obedient / subservient to god, and/or to humanity, as required by god. the whole “way to get too big for your britches trying to be too much like god” element of eating fruit that gives knowledge of good & evil like lucifer being too big for their britches, who created the britches? where did the [too big for them] tendency come from? and then the idea of what the hell uh. concupiscence. the “if it feels good / if you’re having fun, it’s probably a sin” (especially catholic) thing, like that it’s this Sensual Desire that drives people to sin, self indulgence, you’re probably too horny, don’t enjoy sex or flavors or creature comforts or anything that’s just A Good Time for its own sake. and lewis is also trying to slip things past like the argument that jesus must be god b/c the only alternatives are lying, and he doesn’t act like a bad person who would lie, or insanity, and he doesn’t act like an insane person who would genuinely think they’re god, which like yeah that’s totally how things work, thanks man lmfao, truly now we’ve solved [not being christian]. next he’s gonna go off about how schools are terrible but also schoolchildren are wretches and adults are too soft & indulgent by entertaining things like psychology or to not use corporal punishment. or like be vegetarians or something. funny things that bother him as like symptoms of, or perhaps facilitators of, moral turpitude. whilest then the best thing you can be is simply like. more ignorant lol? the Innocence of younger children and, in turn, the increased purity of their faith, good job being 5. and, naturally, a distant confusing gesture at someone turning away from their faith as an adult trying to live in their reality, separated from god. lucifer was created because god chose to create them, and then to be a created being means being separate from god / Not God, which is to be imperfect, and perhaps inherently evil for that [separation from god is itself what Evil is] factor / Creation necessarily resulting in evil as Something, even if simply an absence of / separation from god. is the existence of any non god entity evil? which is an existence that Is because god made that happen? why do we exist, just to suffer? why do we have free will if we can only exercise it one way without separating oneself Further from god, theoretically increasing suffering? what does it mean to have that free will even if (further?) separation from god is never Chosen with it? what does it mean to be created into a Role? and tasked with service to someone else? to humanity, as an angel? to god, as a human? what’s god need with worship? what if no one worshipped god but managed to live in ways that didn’t involve going around trying to murder as many people as possible? what if lucifer is just trying to live their own life without worshipping or obeying god? the version of the lore with them created Into a hierarchy, Into a role that demanded subservience to humanity, or at least a human, into a situation wherein everything they did Had to go one certain way, even if they had a capacity to recognize other possibilities. what is the point of that capacity in angels or humans except to give them the potential to suffer, if it’s theoretically always the wrong, self destructive choice? if the suffering / learning through experience Why it’s wrong is good for humans, why not for angels? again, just not of interest to go “well, but angels should know better, humans wouldn’t” like and yet humans were punished anyways despite this being inevitable i guess, god Knows we like to steal sips from glasses of water & left a glass of water out and pointed it out to us then stopped supervising. and if angels should know better, why didn’t this one? if pride is such an issue, why’s god Need to be recognized by all as superior, when god’s the only omnipotent one anyways & can’t Actually be threatened? yet by rebelling, you gotta go On Principle? again, what’s the devil’s principle here? would they accept this fate of separation from god Knowing they couldn’t win, again, why wouldn’t they know? all in, certainly, once you accept total separation you can’t be even more totally separated, and may as well do whatever if nothing changes that situation. the (not necessarily particularly religiously associated) idea that there’s a strength in embracing failure, and of the concept of Possibilities being embraced by embracing the possibility of past/present/future failure, that one doesn’t have all the answers, that a utopia isn’t going to be like, This is perfect, things Cannot be any other way, This is the way, nothing about this can be wrong, everything about this must be right. lucifer’s inherent problem with authority, i vibe with that lmfao. why do angels have to exist to support their creator and also then other creations who i guess get to be freer than them? why do humans have to support god? certainly paternalistic like, well god just wants what’s best for everyone, and in turn like sure, one can accept that paternalism as a humble recognition of the theoretical fact of one’s own inferiority, being a cat of god’s or the universe’s with limited understanding of what’s beneficial for oneself / a limited perspective, but that’s not my angle here again lol like a secular exploration, we Do have other humans who engage in paternalism / assume authority over others / create hierarchies, and it sure is possible to reject that on principle, wherein that rejection is incompatible with a harmonious existence within, or necessarily even alongside, that situation. people with power over other people stopping them from going after what they want b/c that’s not what they Really want, or at least not what they Really Need, or at least not what’d Really be good for them, or maybe just not what the person in power wants. why would lucifer’s choice to be separated from god at all necessarily have to be both total and permanent? is that a punishment? why is that necessary when theoretically, if god wanted what’s best for lucifer, then lucifer should eventually go “oh hm this sucks worse” about the situation. again, what of an idea about lucifer thinking they’re justified / that they in turn are helping humanity by doing whatever they do, despite their own suffering? humanity maybe being improved by temptation/sin/evil, humanity being eligible for salvation from that, and the devil being a key part of that but Not improved for it / Not saveable? self sacrificing....

who has that quote about old testament god being a villain lol. what’s the devil there. what are they to humanity. the perspective that things like indulgence / selfishness / any traits that may be regarded as limitations, weaknesses, failures, theoretically less than Ideal, are nonetheless a part of human nature and shouldn’t be wholly rejected or condemned, and that the devil recognizes this in their own nature as well as humanity’s & isn’t necessarily a threat. and that’s just like, Atheistic Satanism lol. which i suppose is really the lens here lmao, what does [xyz idea about a The satan explore or express about the human experience]....what of a person whose creator insists they do everything a certain way as dictated by themself (the creator)? sorry, should’ve had the very literal divine right to being thee divine king in the nature of your birth? a birth which i chose & caused? why is the devil or any of us alive. what’s threatening about curiosity, or an individual lessening / rejecting a power difference, or questioning a situation or a person, much less an authority? what is the point of life under others’ prescribed path? if lucifer exists, shouldn’t they get to explore that? what of a relationship where your only option for independence means accepting eternal / complete separation? if the nature of their existence includes the inherent fallibility of Not Being God, what of it if they fall? what of it if they tried to be god because they knew they were so good and so powerful? all or nothing, you can be god (you can’t, both on principle & in practice b/c you’re not as all knowing or all powerful or all benevolent) or you can be cast out of heaven. you made them too good, maybe, but again, how’s the nature they were created with their fault lol. is it bad for an angel to question god or anyone to question an authority, or just anyone else. is it bad to reject an existence where well, i won’t Force you, but you do have to do things exactly as it is unilaterally predetermined they should be done or you are fully outta here forever b/c that’s completely incompatible to existing in paradise in the love of your creator. what if lucifer Is loved post fall? what would that result in? what would it look like? and why wouldn’t they be, one way or another, what’s it mean to be loved by god if that’s conditional? what’s provided by that if it’s conditional? what’s existence that accepts that and takes it on? lucifer was created and was like, alright, i’m a creation [is a creature] like well who can argue with that. the idea that fallen angels were like oh we love humans so much we Do wanna marry them. that if lucifer thinks it’s good and/or justified to question and disobey god, would they not also potentially see themself as Actually supporting/serving humanity in ways god doesn’t want them to by imparting them with Knowledge at the cost of increased separation from god / straying from Perfection and an obedience to an existence completely arranged for you and a role predetermined. what's Love or even just a Relationship with an unilateral immutable power difference in the mix.

and of course in all this it’s like “well but what if the devil is wrong and is trying to ruin things / make shit worse for everyone / what if the devil is basically a Destructive Force, zoroastrianism style” like sure but i feel like that’s pretty covered, and again just not relevant to my purposes lol, i’m Interested in well what of the devil as a Dynamic Character with as earnest a perspective as any other being. what would be going on there? what’s the devil as a way to question god in a religion where there’s more of a tradition that That Is Itself Bad? what’s bad about Questioning even if you presuppose that god is, in fact, always right? 

i have gone on and on about it and given that it’s as broad as [any & everything. good & evil, if you will] could continue, as could anyone, but really what this all means is that it’s like Ooh Oh Boy to know more about akd’s Lucifer in The Mysteries. let’s hear and see more from them. and it is so sexy and interesting and fun and i’m raring to see them as a hero / sympathetic neutral figure. what if they’re a funny little guy? what if they think they will cause problems on purpose? what if they feel hurt by god’s treatment of them from the start? and/or disagree with it on principle? what if they represent embracing the full reality of human nature because first they embraced the full reality of their own nature? what if it’s sexy as Hell when they show up to seduce humanity into original sin? what if it’s hopefully sexy and fun when they do anything else too, and engaging, thank you for creating drama? what if [if we can think about jesus/judas romance i’m like Who’s Kissing Akd’s The Devil]? what if i’m also like of course i’d kiss them and also i’d love to do that, let me portray lucifer. the script for the Mysteries is truly Lengthy lmfao i want in on it, let us see it. it’s just like my being hype to get to be Supposed antagonist cassius in fourth grade when we did a few julius caesar scenes, like oh love it, the gender, the drama, but also uh the nefarious conspiracy is like “this guy’s becoming a dictator huh, what if we kill him” like well lmfao. lucifer existing in the face of an absolute and theoretically inflexible authority? i’m listening. oh AND shoutout to akd’s OTHER portrayal of lucifer where they’re enduring the abandonment of humanity as a hypothetical fellow human and then gabriel as a hypothetical fellow human is like i’ve been sent to save you and we end on an angelic chord as lucifer looks like they’re about to cry. like well yes and that too, how About lucifer who is not abandoned? how About their being saved? i would also kiss them.

Joseph Kavinsky analysis, part 2

aka no voice and no dream pack

Warnings: spoilers for the whole Raven Cycle, mentions of: drug-use, abuse, death, s*cid, xenophobia

Before starting, I wanted to thank for likes and support, not only on part 1 but also on my other posts. I was writing this more for the catharsis, after months of seeing and not really speaking about a lot of stuff. It’s nice to know, somebody read it. Some say, Kavinsky is their comfort character and, well, he will stay with me for a very long time. But enough of that. Let's talk about the point of view, xenophobia and the Dream Pack.

PoV

The running motif in TRC is, all antagonists get PoVs. No matter if they appear in one book (like Whelk) or reoccur (like the Greenmatles). The reader gets multiple chapters with their backstories, internal thoughts and goals. This move by the author is a double-edged sword, on one hand we get a better understanding of them but on the other, by knowing them better they become less effective antagonists and the air of mystery and surprise of what they're up-to/what they know is lost. E.g. In TDT we are first told about Colin Greenmatle and what is he capable of, making him a good threat for our main characters. But when we finally meet him in BLLB, with his attitude and scenes like dissing Ronan's Latin grammar or making cheese crackers while his wife is held at gun-point, he becomes more of a comedic antagonist than a villain to fear.

But here's the thing: I already lied to you. In TRC, all antagonists get PoVs, except for Kavinsky. It's a odd exception from the rule, considering Gray Man in TDT and The Wasp Demon in The Raven King, also got PoVs. But why? There are two things to look at. One I already mentioned. By giving a character PoV, the reader gets better understanding of them. By not giving Kavinsky one, Margaret didn't give anything to make K or his actions clear or understandable. By not knowing his motivations, K is left to pure interpretations, but how the reader will do it mostly will be influenced by his demonetization. Of course, not everybody will just accept what the book tells them without thinking for themselves but most fans don't.

"Bang", he said softly, withdrawing the fake gun. "See you on the street."

Alone, this single line can be interpreted in many different ways. Is it K being angry and threatening Ronan? Or maybe Joseph breaking inside because he was proofen, he really has no one? It all depends on the reader.

Second, when asked on her tumblr, if she'll ever write anything from K's pov (in 2015, before The Raven King was published), M*ggie said she won't, because: she already explored that type of character ("the thoughts and motivations of a powerful, suicidal, creative person with few inhibitions") in Sinner (2014, spin-off/companion book of her older series, The Wolves of Mercy Falls, 2009-2011 for the main three) with Cole St. Clair; that writing through PoV of such character is emotionally and mentally draining for her (which is understandable); and even if she wanted to explore it again in the future, she would through a different character's lenses than K's.

Let's talk about St. Clair.

The characters of Cole and Kavinsky have some similarities: both are drug addicts, who are rich.

That's where they end.

Cole was a famous musician, having the stereotypical rock-star life (drugs, alcohol and sleeping with fans included) with good family relationships, while K was a son of a mobster who tried to kill him and a mother who was a drug-addict herself. While their perspectives would have similarities, there is also other problems. Cole St. Clair already got PoVs in his series and a stand-alone book, Joseph Kavinsky got nothing and will get nothing. Cole had friends that cared for him and helped him, Joseph Kavinsky had his Dream Pack (which whom we don't know what type of relation he had) and his customers who we can safely say, only cared for what he can provide them with, he tried to befriend or start a relation with Ronan who rejected even the idea of it and no one even reached out to him. Cole got his happy ending and (hinted at) a girl he loved, K got rejected by everyone and committed public suicide. (Now, I heard a opinion that K didn't commit suicide, because the dragon killed him. Here is the thing, K could move out of the way multiple times, even Ronan shouted to him to move. But he didn't. He watched the dragon fly towards him and just said "The world is a nightmare.". He choose death.)

People wanted K's PoV, because they wanted to know, what pushed him to do what he did in TDT. But, in my opinion, even if M*ggie gave K pov, she would use it to further demonize him than to make the reader understand him more. She already did write a whole post exaggerating and straw-manning the canon, just to also say "Kavinsky has a very logical backstory that leads him to this place". A backstory we as the reader never truly see and one she forgot to write into her book. At the end, she truly cared only about Ronan.

Xenophobia

The Raven Cycle is a very flawed and problematic series, there are already many other posts taking about racism, misogyny, lack of diversity and many other issues with it, but in regards to Kavinsky, I'll only touch on the xenophobia. (I could talk also about portray of metal-illness, but I'm not the person to talk about it and I would feel comfortable with it.)

Kavinsky is a stereotype of a Slavic person, one we see in American media since the Cold War, especially in 80s movies. The Evil Russian trope. The son of the mobster, drug-addict, forger who can get you anything even illegal stuff, a thief.

When describing Kavinsky, one of the things Ronan mentions is: "refugee's face, hollowed-eyed and innocent". One could argue, "refugee" has many meanings, but boiling it down, is a person who came to the country to escape and seek a refuge. Many people moved to America to find a better life, in the believe of the American Dream, and many of them where driven to do that, especially from ex-Eastern Bloc countries. Kavinsky's Bulgarian, unknown if an immigrant himself or a son of immigrants, but the point still stands.

About Blue’s comment "import from somewhere else" I don't need to say much. First, obvious: You don't import people, only foreign goods, like cars. Second: this shows, he is "the other" in the eyes of the characters.

There is more to it, then just the physical description. We need to look at the outfit he wears. White tank top, white sunglasses, a small earring in one ear and a gold chain around his neck. This gives two images: one of a typical douche-bag, party asshole and the rich kid; the second of a Slavic stereotype, especially of a Russian criminal. If Margaret wanted to make K even bigger stereotype, she would dress him like a dress/gopnik, in a tracksuit.

The thing is: M*ggie could had saved the situation if she had subverted the stereotypes. E.g. K didn't wanting anything to do with the crime live, his family was forced into by circumstances or K being the guy to get stuff from, but he isn't doing it for any gain.

The truth is, K being Bulgarian doesn't add anything to his character, except for xenophobia. (Personally, I tried to find where the surname "Kavinsky" came from. It is Slavic, that much I can tell you for sure, but the rest is my speculation and searching. My best guesses are: Russian (it appears most commonly in Russian, after USA and a use in Russia set novel) or Polish (because it has uncanny simulates to the surname "Kawiński", if it was anglicized like e.g. "Kamiński" into "Kaminsky"). This isn't a common surname and with Peter from the To All the Boys trilogy and the musician, it's hard to find any information.)

But for now, K's portray is one of the many issues.

The Dream Pack or the lack of it

The Dream Pack is the unofficial name for K's group, with whom he parties and races (the canon name is "Kavinsky's Pack of Dogs" which is ugh). They're unfortunately, a non-characters. It's bolt to even call them background characters. Their portray, or again, lack of it, leaves them as props, their only role is to be K's followers and to show K as a leader on a equal ground as Gansey. We're lead to believe, they are like Kavinsky, yet another raven boys, and to make are main characters so “not like the other raven boys”. Problem rises in connection to the previous point, out of four members, only one has an English surname.

Prokopenko is a Ukrainian surname and for his description, we get "ears like wingnuts", "crooked shoulders" and his voice as "milky with drugs". It's said he had "recently attained official crony status", and was noted being in close desecrate to K for a while. Later we discover Proko is a forgery, a dream creature like Matthew and Aurora. It's heavily implied the real Prokopenko is dead, but if K had something to do with it, is unknown. He is the only character to "chortle", which Margaret said she hates and also "fratty boys and the chortling men they turn into". From this we can deduce, that not only the Dream Pack and people at K's parties but all raven boys (with the exception of the main characters) were writen like this on purpose as the personification of everything M*ggie hates. We are also informed, he drives a Golf.

Skov, who according to a deleted scene, full name is Blake Skovron, is polish (or at least anglicized version of it). In said deleted scene he's described as "major asshole, minor bigot" (unfortunately I couldn't find it to confirm it). The only canon stuff about him is: he drives a RX-7 (Mazda RX-7).

Jiang is Chinese, making him one of three canon Asian characters we see in the series (not counting Henry's father, because he's just mentioned, same goes for the Vancouver crowd). Like Proko, his role is a little bigger. In the Raven King, after Ronan finally returns to school after a long time of skipping, he tells him: "Hey, man, I thought you'd died". Ronan doesn't respond, but tells the reader he doesn't want to see Jiang outside of his car, racing. The only other thing we know about him: he drives a Supra (Toyota Supra).

Swan is the only one with an English name, but all we know about him is: he drives Volkswagen Golf, one that matches Proko's.

(For future writers: what car a character drives, isn't a personality trait.)

With the already minimal diversity, this shows the non-Americans as the antagonists or at least "the worst". On the opposite side, we have our main characters. Richard Campbell Gansey III, who has the whitest and British name I ever saw; Adam Parrish, born and raised in Henrietta, Virginia; Ronan Lynch, son of a Irish immigrant, whose Irish identity starts and ends on tit-bits; Blue Sargent, who is half-tree and ambiguous, but was drawn as white by the author multiple times (Yes, I am aware of the Instagram post, but Margaret herself said, she isn't confirming anything that isn't already written in her books. She couldn't even confirm Adam's hair color and made a joke out of it.) The only exception is Noah Czerny, whose surname is Slavic (probably Czech), but this bares no effect on his character.

The Dream Pack are the whole communities babies, created by head-canons and fanons, their relations with Kavinsky and themselves are explored, who they are as people, their appearance, their interests... This is beautiful how many different versions and interpretations of non-existing characters is there. (I, myself also made a version for a rewrite, based partly on the fanon.)

But at the end of the day, the fans did the author's job of creating believe friend group and in the end, their only function was to show, Kavinsky is a king, just like Gansey.

Snake. Pestilence. Venom, poison! the darkness cries. Well, he has a serpent-soul. It’s tiny, but furious, and hoards gold with the same intent as a dragon would. It’s hiding now. It doesn’t want to be touched especially not by the soul of that old fucker.

The old fucker was followed by a tower-like creature, always too big for the room he was in. It had tentacles that spread just around everything, in search for absolute order and control. On the tower top, it had a glowing, all seeing-eye. Funny how despite appearances, that eye was almost blind, and could not find the serpent.

“Sweetheart, you were wonderful today”

The man smiled, tiny white teeth, some bathed on gold, as he leans in and caresses his cheeks, pulling the dark strains of hair out of his sweaty face.

Impure. Impure. Mess. Sinner.

“I’m glad I made a good impression.” He chuckles “But you… You are wonderful, every single time, darling”.

Wonderful… Yeah. That man is about as interesting as a bottle of hot dog water… But judging by the creature that follows him, at least he is pleased for today. The man kissed his forehead and gets up on his feet, searching for his robes.

Why is it always these type of people? No one else seems to like him. Not even tolerate him. But people like the old fucker like to keep him around, like their own personal freak. He can interact with them just fine, he can manipulate them… But he can barely talk to normal people.

They are bad too. Just like you.

Just like you.

Darkness screams… No. Shut up. I’m not this. I refuse to be like him.

“So, do you remember I said I had a gift for you?”

His snake gingerly puts its head out from the hiding spot, sliding up his body and rolling around his arms.

“How could I forget? You are always so good to me” Pay my bills old fucker. “And your gifts are the best”.

“I hope you like this one. It’s a bit different than the gifts I usually give you. A bit ragged as well… But still a very nice item” He moves out the door. Orfeu assumes it’s on the small office he has connected to the bedroom, but no, he leaves the chambers, closing the door, tower-like monster following. The room looks much more empty without that thing roaming around.

He gets into the bathroom to wash up and get dressed. So many mirror, so many expensive stuff, he thinks to himself, stealing a bit of cologne.

Monter.

Demon.

Impure.

Shut up. Shut up, shut up, shut up- He looks angrily at his own back. He can still feel fingers there, tracing those fucking scars. He wanted to cover them up with tattoos, like he did with some of the others, but a full back tattoo would be. Too. Expensive. He needs to eat. Food money.

He could try and seduce one of the old fucker… But he doubted he could. He and his little friends enjoyed seeing scars on his back…. A reminder that he was inferior maybe.

Inferior.

Show them. Beat them into the ground. Let the darkness come.

“Shut up” he whispers to the mirror. Okay, apply some makeup again, fix the hair… And good to go again. Reptilian eyes stare at him through the mirror, his shadow-like soul sliding in and out of existence.

He goes back to sit on the bed, a bit bored. Why is it taking so long? He just wants to get whatever it is and go back home. This place is disgusting.

Loud noises downstairs, shouting, stuff falling. Oh. The old fucker is fighting with his son, who is the human embodiment of stubbing your toes on a table, with the additional of having the haircut of an Alpaca. 

Something heavy falling down, a muffled scream, steps on the stairway. Office door opens… Something hits the floor. Old fucker is back, with a nasty smile. His soul is disturbed and it doesn’t try to enter de bedroom this time. It stays back on the office.

“Hello again” he smiles, teeth just a bit too sharp.

“…Hm, sweet, tell me you have come to my parties before, haven’t you?”

Yeah of course. And stood by the corners while most of his guests stared at him like he was monster or a piece of meat, at least until the old fucker called him so he could show off his personal little freak.

Freak, freak, those people thought. Uncanny, go away.

Or alternatively, that they needed to have him, to control him, to show who really is the monster.

Joke was on them, because it was a great occasion to pickpocket, these parties.

“Of course I have darling. It’s such an honor to be there!”

The old fucker’s smile is unusual, something like someone making a commercial of toothpaste on gun-point.

Controlling, all-consuming, Danger danger.

“Well, you remember my little songbird?”

…Something the old fucker liked to display even more. The young man was put on a sort of pedestal on the beginning of those parties, and would sing and perform gracefully to the guests, before coming to sit and serve his master. By later hours he was tossed around all the guests, and when the party was over, there wasn’t much left of him anymore.

“Sure. The one with the long white hair” He saw him sometimes, walking around the house, always following the dumb ass son of the old fucker. They never really interacted. “Your son’s pet. What about him?”

“Oh no. It’s not my son’s anymore.”

He frowns, and the old fucker’s grim widens. He gesticulate for Orfeu to follow him into the office, where… The boy is there, shivering, covered in bruises and cuts. Ragged.

Fragile. Ice. Thin, thin ice.

…On no. Hell no. Please please no.

“-You…?”

Master grabs the boy’s hair and pulls him up, as he lets out a faint whimper. The boy’s soul… It’s keeling on the ground, but its arms, painfully long, too broken and mangled… They are strangling the boy right now. He can’t breathe right.

No.

Nononononononononononono.

“He is yours now, darling!”

Fear. Anxiety… Anger?

“Are you… giving me a person?”

Nope nope nope nope nope. Can’t interact. People don’t like me. He’ll be scared. He’ll be terrified. He will see me as monster. Won’t be able to help. No nononon.

…He bites his own cheek so much it draws blood. Calm the fuck down. Keep the façade.

“Oh, no darling” the man chuckles “It’s not a person, it’s a pet. Remember how you told me you wanted some company, but you can’t have animals at home? They are scared of you or something, you said. Well, this one is perfect, I’m sure. He won’t dare run away.”

The man comes closer, dragging the poor boy to his feet, with that nasty, nasty smile. That’s why his controlling tower-soul stood back, keeping those arms and tentacles wrapped around the boy’s soul.

“Little songbird here needs a home. He doesn’t sing anymore… So I don’t really have a use for it. He would be very happy to go with you, wouldn’t you?”

He pulls his hair again, so hard he lets out a whimper. The crooked soul mimics its owner to perfection, the tentacles of the old bastard all over it.

“-Y..Ah-“ he shrieks, shivers, raises his head so the tears don’t roll down.

“…He doesn’t talk much anymore. But then again, dogs don’t either” He sighs “I wanted him to be clean of fresh wounds when you took him, but my son got his hands on him somehow.”

Somehow. The soul shivers. The boy cries.

“Well… I know it’s a bit sudden, but it’s your choice after all. You want him? He can clean, cook, do some stuff for you.”

Say no say no say no say so you can’t do this wtf this is wrong and bad and you can’t take of him you can’t barely take care of yourself it will be worse if you don’t he will be killed or tortured that’s not fair it’s not his fault it wasn’t your fault he deserves better than you he won’t get any chance-

“Of course I want him.”

Panic panic – don’t. Don’t panic. Fuck this.

You wanted someone in the darkness for you, and no one ever came… So be the person. Be there.

“Good!” Old fucker says, too loud “Aren’t you happy, songbird? I won’t have to dispose of you after all”

The poor thing tries to answer but can’t. And he noticed how old fucker moves, about to smack the boy, so, on a swift movement, Orfeu  falls to his knees and cups his hands around the boy’s face. Old fucker crosses his arm instead.

“It’s okay if he can’t answer. I’m a quiet guy, believe it or not!” he chuckles “Is just you… that makes me want to talk so much, dear! I’m only chatty around you, cause you have so many nice things to say…”

…Like bragging about his stocks and finances and complaining about being a failure of a father who raised a monster. The usual.

“Well… That’s good to know, I’m special to you!” old fucker smiles victoriously “If it does happen that the pet sings again, make sure to tell me, I’d like to hear”.

Yeah, sure. Like hell he would.

Pre-Date Jitters

I decided to actually write about Rosie and Victor and thought it would be cute to show them being nervous about their first date so here

Rosie felt like they were gonna throw up.

They've been pacing back and forth in their dorm for the past 20 minutes now, constantly checking their reflection in the mirror and looking at the grandfather clock near the entrance. Those 20 minutes felt like an hour to them and they looked at the clock again.

10 minutes.

“What’re you doing?” A voice came from one of the beds in the room. Rosie jumped, letting out a small yelp and whipping their head to the voice. Rosie saw their black haired roommate, sitting crisscrossed with a book in her lap and several notes and papers scattered on her sheets.

Rosie pushed their bangs away from their face, tucking the extra hair behind their ears.

“Oh, hey Melds,” They gasped quietly, sitting down on their trunk and letting all of their weight down, slumping. Ismelda had gotten used to the ridiculous nickname their short roommate had given them and simply rolled their eyes, setting down the transfiguration textbook on top of the other scraps of paper.

“Okay, what's the deal with you? You're way too nervous, even for you.” Ismelda asked, tilting her head and staring at the curly haired individual. Ismelda knew Rosie had a date, since they never shut up about it all week leading up to it, but now it looked like they were gonna barf at any point.

“Oh, just pre-date jitters, that's all.” Rosie laughed dryly, rubbing their hands together and wiping the sweat from their palms. It was only fall and yet Rosie felt like it was 100 degrees in the dorms, which they found ironic since they're in the dungeons. Rosie hadn't felt this nervous since their first date during 5th year with Diego.

But this was different. This was someone Rosie actually had strong feelings for, not a puppy crush or anything like that. Victor made Rosie feel things. Good things. Things that made Rosie scream and yell into their pillow and annoy their roommates. Rosie didn't care, they were finally gonna have a real date with him and they're sweating like a sinner in church, and it felt like they were in hell.

“Rosie, I've seen pre-date jitters from Merula. You, however,” Ismelda said, getting up from her bed and walking over to the medium toned enby, bending down to their level, “are going into a borderline panic attack.”.

The black haired witch took out a white handkerchief from her pocket, handing it to the shorter one. Rosie looked at it, then quietly took it and thanked Ismelda. Rosie quickly wiped their hands and their face from any perspiration and handed it back to Ismelda.

“Nah, keep it for now. I don't want your weird sweat on me,” Ismelda grimaced, scrunching her nose at the handkerchief and standing upright. Rosie took a deep breath before standing up too, gaining some composure and walking over to their full length mirror next to their bed. Rosie smoothed out the soft and lacy fabric of their skirt and checked over themself one more time in the mirror.

“Do I look okay? Is this too much? I don't wanna over dress-WAIT, what if I'm under-dressing? Am I dressing appropriately? What if it starts raining? What-”

“ROSIE!”

Rosie flinched at the loud shout, seeing Ismelda from the reflection of the mirror stalk over to them and spun them around to face her. Ismelda had a dark look on her face, not angry or annoyed but...holy shit, was Ismelda concerned?

“Rosie Mayfield, you are fine. You look good for being the personification of a Rainbow Brite and My little Pony. No, it won't rain, I checked the weather. You two are just gonna go around Hogsmeade, so you aren't going anywhere fancy. If you can survive a murder attempt, Kidnapping, several dark Wizards and witches, and fighting a damn dragon, you can survive this stupid date. You are fine.``

Rosie's eye was wide, their mouth slightly agape. Ismelda sighed, adjusting Rosie's eyepatch slightly to make sure it was secure, then wiping some dust off that had fallen on Rosie's shoulders.

This was weirdly intimate, Ismelda the wannabe dark witch helping one of their housemates with a date. Rosie didn't hate it, they actually enjoyed having this quiet moment with Ismelda, letting the goth girl adjust their outfit and hair how she saw fit.

Ismelda turned the shorter one around again, this time much more gently and less abrupt. Rosie saw their reflection and sighed in relief. Ismelda had pushed Rosie's bangs forward, letting the curls fall in their face and frame it, but also tucking a bit of hair to show off Rosie's eyepatch, a dullish dusty pink with a black rose embroidered on the leather patch.

“There. You're ready.” Ismelda stated, the smallest smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Before Rosie could say a thank you, Ismelda shoved Rosie near the exit and walked away, going back to where she was before. “Now go on that date, Rosie. Don't chicken out or I will curse you,” Ismelda said, sitting on her bed and opening up the same transfiguration textbook she had opened a couple of minutes ago.

Rosie looked back at her freckled girl, then smiling and running down the stairs, quickly shouting ‘Thank you!’ Before going out of the common room door.

Ismelda sighed, smiling a bit before going back to her notes.

Meanwhile, in the Ravenclaw Boys Dorm

“But do I look good?”

“Victor, for the 3rd time, you do, so shut up.” Talbott sighed, his attention mostly focused on his divination homework. His attention was then very abruptly halted when the taller ravenclaw snatched the book from Talbott’s hands and threw it to the other side of the room. “Hey! What the hell?” Talbott yelled, looking at his roommate, debating whether or not to punch him in the face.

“Tal, I know you're not actually looking at my outfit,” Victor sighed, putting his hands on his hips and raising his eyebrow at Talbott.

“That's because you're wearing the exact same outfit you wear everyday,” Talbott emphasized, motioning his hand up and down Victor's body. I mean, he wasn't wrong. Victor simply just put on what he has in his closet and thought it was acceptable. “This is a date, you weirdo. You gotta look nice for Rosie or else they'll think you don't care about your appearance.”.

Victor opened his mouth to debate, but then slowly closed it and realized that Talbott was right. He didn't have a lot of nice clothes and the ones he did have were mostly sweatpants, flannels, and hoodies. Not really ‘going out on a date’ material. He knew he should've just gone to Andre for help.

As if on cue, Andre was at the entrance of their dorm room and looked at his two roommates. He sighed and went over to Talbott’s closet, opening the mahogany doors and sifting through the few racks of clothes he had. Talbott quickly noticed this and stood up abruptly from his desk.

“Why is everyone touching my stuff today?!” He yelled in frustration, flinging himself and laying face down on his bed, groaning into the sheets. Victor laughed, leaning on the wall and looking over to his more fashionable roommate. Andre quickly pulled out a dusty pale blue turtleneck and a pair of black slacks with a matching belt, then with a pair of plain black boots. He strided over to Victor and handed over the clothes to him.

“It's a miracle that you and Talbott almost have the exact same measurements and height. Even if you're a bit broader with your shoulders and chest, the top has some elasticity so it'll fit,” Andre said, going over to his own desk and rummaging through some hair and makeup products he kept in case of emergencies like these.

Victor looked down at the clothes in his hands, quickly changing into the new outfit Andre had provided for him. He flattened the pants to make sure there weren't any creases and quickly turned around in front of the mirror-wait...oh right. Vampirism. He sighed, seeing the clothes but not his own body. He forgot that the mirrors at Hogwarts all had silver backings. He then went over to Andre's mirror, which was one of the only mirrors that was normal, having a plastic backing instead.

Andre pulled up a chair in front of his mirror and motioned Victor to sit down. Victor reluctantly did, fiddling with the cuffs of the sleeves, rolling them up and down constantly and feeling the knitted material of the turtleneck.

He felt Andre talk a chunk of his hair and pull it a bit harsh, making the pale teen wince in pain as Andre fiddled with his hair and styled it. He spread the short ponytail with his fingers and let the rest of his hair be as is, then messing with his bangs to have it frame his face.

“There, much better.” Andre said, admiring his work. Victor stood up and looked at himself in the full length mirror, He actually didn't look that bad.

He looked like a whole new person, but in a good way.

“Oh wow, you clean up nice,” Talbott said, leaning on his arms and looking at his fellow vampire. Victor chuckled a bit, hearing a compliment from his distant roommate was a bit flattering.

“Okay, you have a date you need to go on! So, c’mon! Get outta here!” Andre shouted, pushing Victor out of the dorms while laughing. Victor laughed too, running down the stairs quickly and jumping from the last 5 steps.

“Hey! Thanks! I owe you both favors!” He yelled, about to open the door to the common room before running back to his dorm and grabbing a black, blue, and silver scarf from his bed, then shouting another ‘thanks!’ Before Andre and Talbott heard the common room door slamming shut, making almost the entire house shake from the force.

“You think he’ll be alright?” Talbott asked, going towards the slightly damaged divination textbook from the floor and wiping the dirt off of it. Andre sat on his bed, picking up the latest copy of a fashion magazine and flipping to the first page.

“Eh, if he can survive us, I think he can survive a date with our favorite cursebreaker.”

‘Surprise HH Q&A!’ Part 2

Hi guys, happy 2020. Sorry for posting the second part a bit late. Enjoy.

-          Sinners in hell can “level up” and that’s very related to the villains of the show

-          Viv will look if any company/channel is interested in continuing Hazbin Hotel. If nothing happens, she will look up for every option to tell the story, like a kickstarter.

-          Becoming a demon with animal form could be a shock or could be great for a sinner. For example, Angel likes his demon form because of the extra arms and other abilities but Husk, on the other hand, doesn’t get used to being a giant cat.

-          Razze and dazzle are goat/dragon demons, they are pets and bodyguards of Charlie who can take a bigger form if she is in danger.

-          3:12:05 advice if you want to be an artist just as a hobby and/or self-thought

-          A friend of vivzie recommended her some time ago to not describe how powerful alastor is and leave that as a mystery. So viv decided to be a characteristic of Al to not caring about how powerful he is. 

-          Viv decided Vaggie to be the one who tells Alastor’s story instead of the radio demon himself because she is a storyteller who takes Alastor’s existence seriously.

-          Vivzie have seen the doom guy memes and is ok with them (I think someone of the crew bought her the game as a joke, I dont remember).  

-          The perfect candidate for Lucifer’s voice actor would be "Weird Al" Yankovic but that’s just a dream of Vivziepop. There is no confirmed voice actor for Lucifer at the moment.    

-          3:33:22 What was the most challenging topic of making hazbin? AKA advise about being a good director of an animation project.  

-          Because Hazbin is an adult show, vivzie doesn’t want children in it unless is for a quick joke. For example there are cannibal children, but their participation is only a visual.

-          Sinners cannot have kinds, that’s part of the punishment. Families do not exist for sinners, they do not deserve that. Only Born in hell demons are able to have kids.

-          Niffty is 22, she is only tiny

-          There is a limbo? That’s spoilers

-          The character’s personalities are based on their goals and who they are, not in the tags society puts to them. For example, Charlie could be seen as the typical “Disney princess” but she is the daughter of Lucifer and she wants the hotel to be successful no matter what so she curses and fights if necessary as we saw in the scene with Katie killjoy.

-          There is rain and snow in hell, there is a desert zone too

-          There are places in hell that look like different periods of time. This happens because when exterminators can’t kill sinners from different eras and they manage to survive long enough, they create their own kingdoms that look similar to how was the world when they were alive (for example there is a western zone, an 10’s zone, and so on).  

-          Alastor doesn’t like modern stuff, at all. Like the internet or cellphones, he is like “meh” to them. He thinks the 20s was the best decade and the peak of entertainment. For him, nothing can beat the radio and that’s why he hates vox. He thinks television is just another modern device that will never be better than the radio.

-          Designing Angel plush was a challenge because his cartoon shape is difficult to do in 3D

-          Viv is half Salvadorian but she doesn’t know Spanish.

-          Viv would want to make the characters speak a second language in the future, because in the canon Husk can speak 5 languages, nifty Japanese and Alastor a bit of French.  

-          There is a video of the premiere in LA that we could maybe see someday

-          All the huge buildings of hell belong to Lucifer and all of them have the same thematic: as circus and carnival as possible, but the hotel thematic is now a bit changed because it has Alastor influence on it

-          When is episode 2 coming out? Vivzie and the crew are looking out the best way to produce it and that could take some time

-          Does the static dies when Alastor is being honest or genuine? Viv can’t answer that

-          Biblical characters related to Lilith like Adan and Eve are part of the story so talking about them would be a spoiler

-          Will the story explore the nine circles of hell? Hazbin takes place in only some locations of hell, not all of them, but vivzie has in mind to create more series in the same universe which means there could be a different story with different characters happening in locations that are not covered by Hazbin. (as an example, helluva boss is about the human world and the imp world, two parts that are not explored by Hazbin).

-          Vivzie has thought in creating 3 arcs for hazbin but it depends on the resources and budget the project gets. Each season would have a “satisfying ending”

-          4:59:00 advice on how to do your own show

-          Hazbin Hotel was Viv’s Plan B and she cant believe the great success it has got. Her plan A was to do a big musical Broadway’s style about Alice in Wonderland but something happened and that project got canceled.  

-          There could be new stories happening in the Hazbin universe but with “different flavors” like Helluva

-          5:25:00 how to be a good boss in your projects (a hell of a boss :v )

-          They did a giveaway of signed posters, huh…did someone here won one?

-          Viv got Maxwell Attoms because she has been in contact with him since long ago. She volunteered for a project he was making (that didn’t turn out, unfortunately) and since then they have been talking. Viv says that Maxwell is such kind and reachable person, they sometimes have lunch together.

Tip: Religious references: Only in the japanese version, mostly names of things that link to christianity and judaism. Shyna Nera Shyna is called Sinner Neutlarva Sinner (sins being a big thing in religion, duh), Bug is Moses, Polly Peepers are called Cupids and Specters are called Devils. A lot of the guardian angels are named after stages of angel hierarchy in judaism. I made a list of all the names in english then japanese

Playable Zohar: They’re playable only in the english version in the credits and the ‘Super Core Fighter 2′ mode (never heard of that one...) perhaps as a bonus for the english version

Censorship: In jp version bunny salesman has a cigarette which was changed to thumbs up and when he wants you to hurry up shows a flaming cross in the background which was changed to a dragon in the localised version

Regional differences: Kinda referenced already with hell bunny and name changes. Also, the reaper and geluve aren’t in the japanese version (which with the latter I was surprised about when I found out)

Delia’s wife is Serah: Before the fight with Deliah, Hal states something like ‘think about Serah’ before he buggers off. I dunno if it’s really implied that they’re married and there’s no other reference of it, even from Delia. Though I believe there is a track in-game called ‘your wife is an angel’ so that could relate to it

Ikaruga: Think I heard about this game while watching a review on sm. Apparently it has the same silhouette and mirage thing with two aspects and facing two different ways when fighting etc etc

The genus of Zohar (their gender): Pfffftt they’re just both, duh, dunno why people get wound up over this... anyways, I just headcanon them as two separate characters..

Shyna and Clod are brothers(means, Clod is Shyna’s brother): I..... always thought Clod was female... -_- after reading up jp stuff about it I think they were male in the og version but changed to female in translation because of the translators not getting their gender. I always thought their voice sounded female in the english version. Nevermind... in the jp version Clod (dumb name) says ‘Goodbye, sister’ before the fight.

Which ending is canon?: Whichever you want... there isn’t a sequel... My chosen one is the restore edo one. I believe everyone is reborn too

Shallows Discarded bosses: Judas, Nebuchadnexxar and Hashmalim04 (+ Geluve in the jp version). Judas was apparently meant to be an ally of Megido. I believe she may have betrayed him though since Judas bible betrayed Jesus bible in the bible tm. Nebu man looks like the stereotypical anime pervert.... I think he’d play a roll in Delia’s tv pad since he looks like a director. Not sad to see you go, sir. Hashmalim04 is, duh, the fourth guardian angel. Looks real cool, probably controlled both silhouette and mirage.

Zohar crying: I’m not aware of this, god, I felt so much for Zohar.... ;-; apparently its during the cypher zohar fight. Went to find it again and it’s kinda barely noticeable.. I must’ve thought it was just flashy particle effects. Though it’s quite sad now looking back on it.

The reaper: English only boss, appears if you haven’t lost all your health at all. Apparently they’re challenging you since you so op. I find them kinda boring... love their horse chariot though..

Merchandise: WHERE CAN I GET IT?! Nowhere probably because they most certainly made barely any

Doujinshi: Damnit these look so cute..! Doujinshi is japanese for fan manga. Not official works

Hal is not that smart: Well it’s more Shyna’s just powerful... I believe that if the angels couldn’t stop her that nothing would’ve stopped her.

The image of adult Shyna: God... I’m not a fan....

The middle bit The age of Shyna and Zohar: I see them as programs/robots so I don’t think they have ages. Op states Shyna is 14 and Zohar is 17 which I think is a good choice.

Ying and Yang: It’s the idea that good and bad must be equal and the other exists a little in the other. I really see this link. Since it’s shown that Silhouette and Mirage need to be in balance - as seen in the ending where Megido goes weird cause Har was killed therefore there was too much mirage. I believe Silhouette and Mirage in the world of the game are perhaps like light and shadow or good and evil.

Geluve’s father is Hal: I believe this one but I don’t think op does. Doesn’t Har distinctively call Geluve ‘daughter’ as she interrupts him...? I do rather believe some of the guardian angels see Har as a father, such as Dynamis calling him ‘daddy’. Bottom of the iceberg Shyna is has (hmm) a bomb: Like, kinda a reset bomb. She isn’t really a bomb as she’s never destroyed - you can see her in the reset ending, alive and well. You could say she was carrying a reset button that turns on automatically once close to Edo, it’s not particularly a bomb.

Shyna needs the player for her to have a purpose: I think that’s a bit deep. Yeah, every game protagonist can only do things if the player controls them. I think this is just thinking a bit too deep.

Hal and Megido are Clod’s personalities: I’m not sure what to think of this. So Clod was an asshole and an asshole? I don’t think Har and Megido are different enough to be ‘separate personalities’. We don’t really know enough about Clod to know this at all.

Depths Was she the messenger of destruction or not?: I think this all comes down to what you believe happens after Edo is restored. If you think everything is reset and all the humans are saved then she’s the messenger of justice. If you believe everyone is killed and new humans are born, perhaps it was destruction after all because everyone died anyway.

[x] - Answered here ; As a bonus, i’ll answer A and R in regards to the Inuyasha fandom bc we’re both in it. He is coming into a friendly relation with Margaret (OC) which is great. IDK what he’d be with Elena, but realistically, I think it would maybe be a friendship of sorts? I think that covers that. I don’t have any ships that are official in threads. However, I do think our Kikyo and Sesshomaru would eventually get down to being a ship.

In fandom, I support Inuyasha/Kagome and Sango/Miroku as it’s canon. In regards to what I like, I do like Sesshomaru/Kagome and Sesshomaru/Kikyo (GET FUCKING REKTED INUYASHA! Don’t be mistaken, I love Inuyasha but I am biased). Sesshomaru and Kagura would be an interesting dynamic to explore more on. I think I’ve seen people state Sesshomaru already loved Kagura when she died and I just-- don’t feel the vibe tbh. I personally think he would’ve needed more time to come to terms with such an emotion. I think it was interest, respect, and familiarity at best at that time. Anyways, I think their dynamic would be very fun as a ship. I’ve seen Sesshomaru and Sango as well and i’m like LE KEK, SURE WHY NOT? Me casually making my muses a ship magnet in fandom? Yes. In RPC? LOL SHIP? Can I eat that?

Trash of the Count’s Family

Cale- I am biased, I love the main character, obviously. I just really like Cale. He has some sassy thoughts in his head and I LIVE for that. Additionally, I just find him to be fascinating as a character. I can’t really go into it because it goes into severe spoiler territory, but basically, the way he was integrated into the world he was isekai’ed into is so fascinating to me, especially when you realize there is more to this isekai than we, the readers, are initially led to believe. In regards to emotions, he’s more stagnant than I’m used to in a lot of characters I like, but I don’t hate it? Rather, it fits him well. He’s an ‘unlucky’ dude and I laugh at his misfortune. When you consider angst material—Ohhhh CHEF KISS.

Alberu- BIG BROTHER CROWN PRINCE ALBERU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love him so much. AHHHHHH He’s such a fun character to me. This sly Prince. He really does care a lot about Cale and it makes me cry. He takes his role as a Prince seriously and puts so much care into the common-folk and he doesn’t discriminate against those of the dark species (Necromancers, dark elves, vampires, etc) which is almost unheard of especially since the most prominent religions are those of the Light. He has a reason for it which I won’t spoil. AHHHH I love him. //sob

Raon Miru- BABY DRAGON!!!!!!! The cutest lil thing who I love to pieces. He was introduced as an abused baby and it hurts me to think about. He hates humans but he sticks around Cale because he’s the human that saved him from being tortured daily. He slowly becomes acclimated to being around humans and grows to trust some. He still hates humans but the ones he’s close to aren’t ‘humans’. They are ‘his people’. I cry. This all-mighty dragon is amazing and can do everything. Bow before his might. I love him. Fite me.

Legend of the Sun Knight

(Lesus) Judgement Knight- Okay, he’s not the main character, but--!!! He’s great. Even though he’s supposed to be at odds with the Sun Knight as they embody different philosophies, they are actually the best of friends in secret. He deals with a lot of Grisia’s (Sun Knight) BULLSHIT, getting him out of trouble. His dynamic with Grisia is just hilarious to me. He’s a calm and collective type. Very serious, not very talkative. He’s the head of the ‘cold-faction’ and his role is to punish sinners in grotesque ways so many fear him but HE’S. A. GOOD. BOI!!!!!!! He just—is so dedicated to his role but mostly Grisia, his best-friend-who-is-not-his-friend. I’M CRY.

(Grisia) Sun Knight- The actual main character of the series. He’s so… HE’S AN INSUFFERABLE LIL TWAT—BUT I LOVE HIM. So sassy and just a lil shit in general. He’s very clever and he’s also what you could consider a genius. I love competency, mmm. He’s HELLA petty. To put it simply, he’s the Sun Knight, who is like the head of the Sun Church. You could say he’s the leader of an entire religion, who worship the God of Light. (If you ever see me type OMGOL, it’s bc I’m typing Oh My God of Light. Fax) There are select knights who are spokespeople for the church and he’s the head of them. All such knights are considered to be ‘brothers’ and he’s very protective of them all. Princess? King? Liche? The world? He don’t give any flying fucks. You touch his knights and he’ll get revenge. BET. I love that level of savagery.

(Neo) Sun Knight- I must say, he doesn’t show up much, but he is just //chef kiss. The special knights I mentioned earlier are roles that get passed down to a new generation. There are 12 in total, and the Sun Knight is the topmost knight. Neo Sun is said to be the best knight in HISTORY aside from the original. His sword skills are legendary and he raised Grisia, the… uh… ‘weakest’ Sun Knight in history. He’s the weakest in sword skill and horse riding skill, but Grisia is the strongest when it comes to magic proficiency. Just Neo’s name can send Grisia into a panic. He is somewhat of a Father for Grisia. A scary one, but one that Grisia cares deeply for. The sacrifices that Neo has made for Grisia is just //sob. He and Lesus both have done so much for Grisia behind the scenes and I’m just--- //cries harder.

Ye Xiu- He is the main character of this novel and ughhh I love him so much. He too, IS A LIL SHIT!!!! He is so insufferable sometimes to his opponents and I LOVE IT. He’s very smart and skilled in what he does. He’s a professional gamer and I don’t understand a thing about games but I only need to know that he’s wicked good lol. He’s very dedicated to Glory, the game that he was a professional gamer for. He kinda… got ousted out by the team he FOUNDED. He says that he’ll get back into the professional association and take another championship. The novel centers around him and you watch as he sets out to complete a specific goal in mind in honor of a certain someone.

Huang Shaotian- A talkative dumbass. I love him. He is such PUPPY ENERGY. He bothers Ye Xiu a lot with his highkey energy. He’s extremely talented and he is known for his trash talking. He talks ridiculously fast and he’s just so--- insufferable in another way lol. I love him for it. He doesn’t always think before he talks and it gets him into trouble. Even though they are on opposing teams, he is quite fond of Ye Xiu and after finding out Ye Xiu suddenly retired (ie he was forced out of his team), he was very concerned for him. He even travelled to come talk to him and do him a favor. He was like: Old Ye, if you ever need anything, just ask! I’ll help! THIS. GOOD. BOI!!!!!!!!!! He’s really just a big idiot sometimes. “Hey, Shaotian, where are you?” “Oh, I’m xxxxxx.” “Oh? That’s where a boss spawns. I’ll be there.” Who just—he legit just gave intel to Ye Xiu about a boss monster spawn to an enemy guild. He is just too honest and ready to answer to Ye Xiu. You can tell he really respects Ye Xiu despite what trash talk he spouts. Ye Xiu IS the God of Glory, after all.

Han Wenqing- IN COMING YE XIU’S OLD RIVAL FOR YEARS!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH They just--- I’M CRY. They have such history with each other, constantly butting head with each other in game/tournaments. They don’t have a dynamic where they look at each other and just cuss each other out or what have you. They genuinely respect each other and wouldn’t mind hanging out with each other in private. They are both captains of their own respective teams and the fans of their teams are mortal enemies lol. Han Wenqing and Ye Xiu are both older players and you really get to see the struggles older players face in the tough gaming industry. He’s a responsible captain and he is so respectable. He’s so great. I love him too. The dynamic he has with Ye Xiu is--- //crying
