Barnaby gained Earth Magic as it represents his strength and power, and how he uses that to protect his friends. I've always associated him with the Earth element for that reason. This magic makes him an absolute unit since he can manipulate and control all of the Earth around him. This includes other materials such as clay, crystals and metals, as they're also part of the earth. After exploring the arts during his Renaissance Wizard phase, he stuck with sculpting and metalwork. In duels, he'll use Earth Magic for both attack and defense. He received his Infinitus (spellbook) from Reina to commemorate their new friendship during their Third Year.

Ismelda gained Doll Magic as she developed a curiosity for things that were both cute and creepy. As she began to explore hobbies, she found herself developing an interest in dolls, especially after hearing about haunted doll stories from Ben. With this magic, she can summon and control dolls, use them for spying and gathering information, disguise them as other people, and summon them in swarms for attack and defense. She received her Infinitus as a gift from Reina after they became friends during their Fourth Year, a short time after the events of "Crushed".

Chiara gained Healing Magic thanks to her desire of wanting to become a Healer herself, as well as her kind and caring personality. She directly asked Reina for an Infinitus of her own in their Third Year as she expressed interest in expanding on her current abilities, and be a better help to everyone, especially those she helped tend to at the Hospital Wing. This magic allows her to heal many injuries, both internal and external, and in time she's capable of removing certain types of ailments and curses. It would prove useful in the event that there were shortages of certain potions and other medicines. She would also gain Lunar Magic as her Secondary. This not only enhanced her magic on any night that the moon was visible, but also allowed her to bypass the need for Wolfsbane Potions. In addition to maintaining control while she's transformed, she's able to still use her magic to heal others and herself.

Me trying to explain how Victor and Shiratori should’ve been siblings because of the dynamics and parallels of Beatrice and Penny, as well as Ismelda and Annalena, because then all three of them would (presumably) be the youngest sibling in a family where the oldest was/is herald as a success and a golden child while the youngest was in their shadows and rebelled, thus all of them having a reason to become a small friend group that could last for years beyond hogwarts. I got a big question about the new HPHM chapter - Volume 1 Chapter 18. What do you all think Ismelda is up to that prompts her to bail from the cake shop Jae works at when MC takes notice of her? I know that she is acting suspicious because her behavior indicates that she has something to hide. Jae isn't telling either because of a merchant-client privilege according to him. I believe that his reason is a cover story for whatever dealings he has with Ismelda because he doesn't reveal how he got ahold of Moste Potente Potions out of concern for MC's safety. It could be possible Jae also doesn't reveal anything about Ismelda to MC due to the risk of retaliation. I wanna know JC-

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY STUPID CHILD I DID NOT EXPECT TO GET ATTACHED TO, JANE CLEVE

I also took this chance to spill some lore about my MC's life. Warning: There's going to be information from things that happen and don't happen in later years. So proceed with your own caution and will.

Now storytime :D

6th birthday. 1979 is a happy year for baby Jane. She's not very aware of what's happening out in the wizarding world, and her family is not aboard on letting her know.

She happily celebrates her birthday just like the years before, her mom makes a cake, her dad helps her, and Jacob is by her side, as he says he will always be.

11th birthday. Things are gloomy in the Cleve household. Jacob has been reported missing for many months. The father, saying he couldn't take the situation, left. Leaving the house that was meant for four, to the mother Loraine and Jane.

Loraine, not being able to bear her son and husband's disappearance, turned to calming draughts and other substances that she thought would release her from her pain.

Jane's 11th birthday was lonely, she had gotten her Hogwarts acceptance letter earlier that day but didn't say anything. She's determined to go and find out what happened to her brother. As of that day, she wanted to spend it with the newer version of her mother, and a cupcake, cause as Loraine says, "There's no need for a big cake since there's only one to eat it."

12th birthday. A school year has passed and little Jane is confident she's on the right track. With her new friends by her side, Rowan, Ben and Penny, she believes her Hogwarts years will be much better than she anticipated.

13th birthday. Another curse has been broken and another friend has been collected. The fight will the Ice Knight had earned Jane a scar, small that looks like nothing. After the fight, Loraine has acknowledged Jane's well being and she's pleased she can rely on her friends. Bill has noticed the Cleve family is a bit off but pretends not to notice for his friend's day.

14th birthday. Jane begins to be more familiar with her friend-magnet gift. Her 3rd year was tough, with people facing their worst nightmare, but that doesn't stop them from breaking the curse. The gang has suprised Jane with a cake. It can't stand like a proper cake but she doesn't care, she's happy to be surrounded with people she loves.

15th birthday. The school year could have had a better conclusion. Jane is upset cause she was certain Jacob would be found in that cursed vault. To make things better, Loraine grounded her for the whole summer, both for the fact she had to serve detention and in hopes she'll drop the cursed vaults.

So for her birthday, Jane was alone once more. Well, kinda. The whole night she'd get letters from all of her friends. Some were even personally delivered by a certain bird boy that may or may not have wanted to see her.

16th birthday. Everybody is uneasy. Rakepick's betrayal had hurt the children deeply. Jacob had finally shown himself but his reunion with Jane had not been as sweet as she wanted. She's angry yes, and sad as well, but the cursed vaults are still out there and she has no time to waste with talking about her feelings.

17th birthday. Things have really gone downhill. Sure, the curse has been lifted. And Rakepick is in Azkaban. But their group is broken with two dear friends being gone by the Green Curse. She blames herself, she was there when it happened, she could have done something.

Everyone says it's not her fault, hell, even Merula and Ismelda. She's scared she can't protect anybody anymore. She's scared she won't be able to fight not only evil witches and wizards, but also a disease that has hit her gravely.

18th birthday. HAH SIKE THEY'RE ALIVE.

Things are much better for the gang. Rowan and Ben have awoken from their coma, Peregrine is gone and R has been defeated. Jane's health condition is not the best, but in general life is becoming more peaceful.

19th birthday. The gang has taken their own roads but still meet up for old time's sake. To celebrate birthdays and successes, or support eachother when things are not going to well.

After everything they've been through, with R, Peregrine, ROCC cases and Jacob, Jane has finally reached a point where she genuinely believes that they will be happy. That they will be okay.

Y8 Ismelda & Merula Redesign Concepts

Alright everyone! Here are my concepts for Ismelda and Merula because I don't like how JC designed their post Hogwarts look. Well, Merula was alright her hair was just awful. I originally was just gonna do a touch up for her hair but I went all the way and gave her a new outfit too 🙃

Ismelda's redesign pretty much follows what I had planned for her role in my version of Hogwarts Mystery. Her design also stays close to how I made her redesigns for her Hogwarts look.

Okay now Merula! Girl what did they do to your hair?!

Again, wasn’t planning on making her design but I looked back on the datamines and first thought “i see merula still doesn’t know what a comb is” then I thought “what the absolute hell is that color choice?”

This could have clearly worked out if they didn’t make her hair so damn shiny! So for my redesign, above you can see that I made her hair a little longer. Specifically the locks at the front and towards the back it’s more layered and wild. I fixed that ugly dead starfish of hers as well and made it appear more as highlights. And I got rid of the bright yellow because it does not match with that dark shade of brown.

I kind of overdid it with Ismelda, but hey she looks good. I mentioned in one of the datamine posts that I feel like Ismelda would be good working at a tattoo parlor so her design has quite a few tattoos and piercings. In my revamp for her, Ismelda eventually gave up on trying to be like her sister and started exploring her own style. And Ismelda would totally fit for this aesthetic!

Now for the outfits!

Honestly Ismelda's design was so boring, I’m sorry I know some like simplicity but I don’t. She could use some color AND leather would have looked good on her (c" ತ,_ತ) so would chains and a choker. And I was right. And Merula, again, wasn’t planning on giving her a redesign. But once I started on her hair, I thought of a new outfit too! Not a heavy redesign but an altering of her canon design.

Wanted to include a photo of the parents alongside the kids, so here's my take on their appearances as of 2008. Knowing me, some stuff might get changed up later on, but for now I'm happy with these results.

The Copper Family

Well before the first Beyond Hogwarts leaks, I've always envisioned Ben becoming an Auror and growing a full-on dad beard once the kids were born. While he's mellowed down considerably from his edgy teen days, he's still more than capable of getting dangerous if he has to.

Ismelda herself would use her Doll Magic and make a business out of selling custom dolls. True to her roots, she'd also use them to scare off any rude kids and annoying neighbors. She especially enjoys messing with the local Karens.

Sometimes people around them are left wondering how the two ever got together given how drastically different they appear to be.

The Celestia-Winger Family

So fun fact, Talbott's height actually stops at Reina's shoulders, but I made him taller for the pic cuz otherwise it'd look really funny to me.

Sometime after getting married, they considered having no more than two kids to see how things would pan out. The universe had other plans and they instead had their quads lol It was a nice surprise, and they cherish their baby birds.

Reina works at her bakery and after the Battle of Hogwarts, Talbott switched from being an Auror himself to becoming a Healer. Wanting to be there for his family, he wanted to have a career that wouldn't put his life at risk anymore.

Ricardo De Los Santos and Naomi McDaniels

The two didn't really get the chance to become a family as Naomi had Ascended into an Angel and had to reach the Departure shortly after Rel was born. As it marked the end of her human lifespan, she was essentially dead.

The pair met in Las Vegas in 1993. Ricardo went there to get over Chester dumping him, while Naomi had been there with her group of "friends" that quickly ditched her. Deep down she knew that her time was coming to an end, so she was there to live out her final days as much as possible.

The two enjoyed each other's company and hooked up almost instantly. Thanks to some drunken shenanigans, they find out they were expecting. They decided to confide in each other and told their biggest secrets, with Naomi learning that he was a Wizard, and Ricardo realizing she had Ascended and was on her final days as a human.

Her Departure gets delayed due to her pregnancy, and they're aware she'll pass on once the baby is born. In the year they got to know each other, they grew very close. She got the chance to hold their daughter and gave Ricardo the idea to name her after his late older sister Rel. Ricardo would see her off once the Departure was initiated.

He always remembers her fondly and has a memorial for her at his home. Rel was told about her mom once she was old enough, and loves her all the same.

Honestly, she's not bad at all. They didn't proportion her face quite right, but the look is not disagreeable, though they could've been more creative.

I was gonna add some pictures but I'll link my Pinterest file I made for her. They could've gone more 90s goth, or some Victorian goth academia since I assume she'd go into history studies and she's a literal witch so...

But all and all, she's still my goth baby.
