what countries do you think the anubis residents live in post-grad? i keep seeing people saying all of them go to uni in america but that seems unrealistic.

mara, willow, and alfie would stay. i can't think of any reason why they'd leave except if they got a scholarship or something, and given the tor fiasco i doubt willow (or alfie) would qualify and mara's too practical for all that (expenses would still be A Lot) when oxbridge are right in her backyard.

kt and eddie would go home. neither have a real reason to stay in the uk and i think they'd both miss their family. although i can see kt taking on a job (photographer?) that allows her to travel so often that she doesn't really have a permanent place she actually lives in lol. eddie probably goes back to the uk on occasion with patricia.

patricia would go to the us. she doesn't seem particularly close with her family—at least enough to want to stay close to them for the next three years—and i think she'd like the adventure, plus eddie (and nina and amber, canonically, and kt) would be there too. she probably comes back for visits, though.

joy and jerome, as much as i would love for them to live next door to p/e as adults, they would probably stay in the uk, again because they have no real reason to leave. when they earn enough money via jerome becoming a big-shot businessman and/or joy repeatedly being invited to organize the met gala or something, they buy a second home near wherever patricia and eddie happen to be and plan their (business) trips around holidays whenever possible :)

mick, I think, would go to the us for uni on a full-ride D1 scholarship (I'm thinking UCLA for soccer). he qualifies for the olympics/fifa/world champs/whatever at some point during those four years. I can see him staying on after and having a successful college coaching career, but around his early-30s he'll make the move back home (either the uk or australia idk).

fabian would stay in the uk for uni. he studies abroad somewhere in new england for a semester (idk is that a thing in the uk?) or does a 1-year masters at an ivy or something just to see what the hype is about, but i don't see him moving permanently for the same reason as most of the others on this list.

nina is obviously in the us at the end of her senior year and i don't think she'll ever go back to the uk willingly, although she does find herself dragged there far too often (in her opinion) either by amber, a vengeful god, or her publicist (who doesn't understand why she's so averse to promoting her latest potentially-blockbuster movie in the country it's set in).

amber is also at fashion school in nyc during season 3, which she presumably continues in for uni, although maybe she drops out once her designs take off. I can see her moving to the us permanently (mostly because that's where nina is) but traveling around the world for work frequently. she and joy switch-off organizing anubis reunions every other year-ish, and she goes back home (with a somewhat-reluctant nina in tow) for those.

AHHH WELL…. it’s tough anon….. i feel like calling him selfish almost paints him in a bad light but i truly don’t see his selfishness as a bad thing 😭 suguru’s love is very very tender, but it’s kind of… rooted in his own need for devotion. if that makes sense. suguru craves to care for you, y’know? it’s all about you, yes, but it’s all about you because that’s what he wants… what he needs… he feels complete when you let him love you. he feels happy when you’re happy. so really it’s all about him, but all that’s running through his mind is you you you…. if that? makes sense???

like. at the end of the day. all suguru wants is to be the one who stands at your side. and he will fight for that position, as opposed to someone like gojo who i think would slink into the shadows if he thought it was best for you….. if your relationship was making you miserable then obviously suguru wouldn’t want you to stay, but. the thing is that he does make you happy. he sees it as his duty and it’s not a duty he’d ever give away to someone else, even if they could love you in ways he couldn’t... suguru is determined to be worthy of you!!!! he needs you and he needs to love you, to make you happier than anyone else. it’s a strong, selfish desire but that doesn’t make it bad!!!

this is a gross oversimplification really but in my brain it’s kinda like….. gojo wants you to be happy. and suguru wants to make you happy. you know??

How do you think Kit and Anush’s relationship will play out in TWP? Like, do you think Kit will be a bit jealous of him? Anush might be protective of Ty? Maybe they’ll hit it off?

before i get into the kit/anush relationship i wanna first off say that i really hope ty and anush are really really good friends. like i hope they got super tight at the scholomance and can truly rely on each other, i just really need ty to have a bestie like anush (and seems super sweet <3). and if that is the case in twp, then i think kit would definitely be jealous of anush and how close they are. he might even assume they are in a relationship and that would make him even more heartbroken (and me absolutely shattered).

so i think at first, he would for sure be jealous of anush. and actually i think that like you say, anush totally would be protective of ty (that's something i need desperately)!!!!! bc i imagine at the start of twp, kit will be really cold and distant to ty in order to protect himself and anush might feel iffy towards him bc of it as he is ty's best friend. but after all the angst is over, i just know kit and anush are gonna be really great friends and have fun together🫶🏻

I was going to draw the crown too but decided I don't hate myself that much(maybe some other day), and gave him a golden laurel crown, bcs I'm obsessed with that as a motif, and also its very remincient of the boy king statue that started this whole thing!

There's some symbolism of this, both intentionally but also just historically. I love that the orb represents that the monarch is holding the world in their hand, basically every old monarchy has one of those, and I think it's very cool for symbolism. But also bcs of that, I was forced to basically draw catholic fanart so, you win some you lose some. The star halo above him head is both to reference those religious statues with star crowns(I saw them a lot in Europe and they imprinted onto my brain), as well as: his four championships of course!

4. Shut-Up Kiss

Andrew berates Neil endlessly for running his mouth, but Neil has never known anyone to rant as pointlessly and frequently as Kevin. Sometimes it's almost charming; Kevin's love for history sends him on tangents of fascination every now and again, especially with a drink or two loosening his tongue, and his genuine respect and fanboy adoration for the Trojans—and Jeremy Knox—is almost sweet. Sometimes it's concerning; Kevin's breathing turns ragged and his eyes grow foggy when his mind returns to the Nest, and sometimes, now, commentary will come with it, the knowledge that Riko can't touch him anymore allowing Kevin to tell some of the stories that have refused to die with Riko, at least when Andrew and Neil are the only ones around to hear it.

Other times, it's annoying as shit. In these instances, Neil cannot help thinking Kevin's tattoo is glaringly accurate.

Kevin is nothing if not a drama queen.

"You have been doing this drill for two years," Kevin rants now, eyes full of thundery frustration as he looks down at Neil. "You should have long perfected it, even without the addition of your captaincy, and soon I will not be here to pick up your slack. I do not understand how you expect to–"

The thing about Kevin's ranting now is that it's annoying as shit, but the angrier Neil is at Kevin these days the more he wants him. Neil doesn't—will never—find Kevin's scoldings endearing or amusing or anything of the sort, too short of temper as he is, but he has always found a pull in response to Kevin's fire because of how terribly it matches his own.

The thing about Kevin's ranting now is that Neil can still fantasise about punching him while kissing him instead.

Kevin makes a noise against Neil's mouth, indignant and pissed off and wanting, and the fire in Neil's veins stokes higher, burns hotter. He curls a hand around Kevin's neck and draws him down, down, satisfied only when Kevin's arms fall to his waist and pull him up in response.

They only startle apart when a ball thwacks the floor a few inches from their feet, both breathing hard. Neil feels a savage smile curl his lips at the sight of Kevin's hooded eyes, his lips parted and silent.

Then he looks over at Andrew, who appears as bored as ever to anyone who knows him less, but to Neil is amused and annoyed and interested all at once, if only for how his gaze bores into them. He raises an eyebrow at Neil, and Neil is shrugging before he has even consciously decoded the expression, agreeing yes, alright, I'm stealing your moves now.

"Thanks for the show," Andrew says, dryly, and Kevin makes another wordless noise somewhere between dismissive and craving. "Are you done yet?"

To give credit where credit is due, in the past few months of embedding himself more deeply in them than ever before, Kevin had found the remainder of his spine and has been learning to recover himself remarkably quickly. He presses his palm to the dip of Neil's spine and meets Andrew's eyes to return, "Eager to get back to the dorms?"

Andrew flicks his gaze over to Neil, and Neil obliges; Andrew is not quite close enough, but Neil is more than happy to kiss Kevin quiet again.

🎬One of your fics gets turned into a TV series. Which one is it and what network is it on?

Princes as a long series would be Rejecting Martyrdom no question, no contest. Letters would be a nice option too for something shorter. If it was the same team/crew that ran The Borgias, Starz would be my answer because even though they did cancel it after 3 seasons they at least didn't shy from the politics, murder, and incest lol. There's also Max which I do respect because they release the behind the scenes for each episode with the cast/crew and I just love watching those to see the thought processes and what goes into the shows.

Maybe once I finish Field of Reeds it will take that spot but that would be a much harder pitch for obvious reasons lmao. I probably would have to go with an animated series route for it not live action, which would probably be best for Malenia's depiction and all the non-human creatures anyway, and ooh I'd be lying if I gave any answer other than Arcane's studio.

🛌 What's a trope you haven't written, but want to?

I'm not really much of a fanfic trope person, I very rarely seek out trope fics to read personally and I can't remember ever writing one, at least not consciously. But if I had to write any it'd probably be Only One Bed or Fake Marriage.

Lol is there anyone who answers this with something other than comments & tumblr asks? Between the two I do prefer comments on the works directly because they're the most accessible for me to go back and reread whenever I want when I need a pick-me-up. It also opens the door for conversations between the readers and myself and I love those exchanges, which is the whole reason I post these fics publically.

Kudos are of course always nice too! But I've also learned all the metrics-focused stats (kudos, bookmarks, subscribers) are a one way street to self doubt and stress for me because it's hard not to view them as a metric of "success" so in my head I end up viewing my work a commodity instead of art and that's just a really unhealthy mindset I've trapped myself in before. I've jokingly said it before but I'm pretty sure my hits to kudos ratio on Field of Reeds alone would kill some fic authors on the spot if they allowed themselves to care about stats like that. I do my best to ignore them because if I don't that's when I doom spiral 🙃 and I've put forth a lot of effort recently into not doom spiraling.

I play clarinet! I’ve played for. I think coming up on eight years now, so I guess I hold some credibility. I quite enjoy playing music, it’s something that means so so much to me. If you make a song recommendation I will listen to literally any genre. Especially long songs (like 10+ minutes. I love them.)

Also I’m thinking about minoring in music so I can learn how to properly compose. Fun fact, I have a piece I want to compose based off of malevolent. Each character has an instrument assigned to them, but that’s a yap for another day

more Me Fun Facts is that I have music synesthesia aka I can like. See music. I guess. Like colors and patterns and stuff, it’s easier to show rather than explain. But yeah that’s my party trick people think I’m insane <3

uhmm right okay so music theory is The Devil and as someone who does calculus every day, I’m still scared of it. It’s a lot of rules you have to learn but also learn how and when to break them. Crazy. Took one class and almost died.

🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE — what is your oc's favorite holiday?

Kendis: Fun fact, I was thinking about this the other day. Windows likes to pop up in their search section with different holidays, and it reminded me of a thing Kendis used to do when I rp'd them -- In short, the most obscure holidays or national days Kendis would post about them. They knew about donut day or like national friendship day or international pancake day ... black love day!, and so on. Some times they would inform about the history and stuff. She would also be the sort to make a big deal about somewhat known but not as commercialized holidays. Mardi Gras? Arbor Day? Don't worry Kendis got your back. Just a fun tidbit

Kendis' favorite holiday probably is something like National Forest Day, roflmao. I don't remember if I really gave them one. Kendis even likes Easter and they're agnostic. I feel any holiday that its culturally acceptable for them to participate and has festivities attached to it, she was down for. I won't lie tho. Christmas probably Gets Focus the most out of all the holidays, but when they're near their loved ones.

Val: Hmm. I almost went with Christmas but I think I'm going to say Halloween. I think Christmas might make Val sad. But Halloween is fun, full of mischief and pranks and people judge you less for slacking off [I mean for Christmas they to but ... yeah]. I think Val would be partial to holidays where people are rowdy -- to the point they'd probably consider superbowl a holiday. Making fun of drunk people is a pastime. It also gets them out the station.

💚 GREEN HEART — does your oc prefer being inside or outside?

Kendis: I suppose both is cheating. So, I'm going to say outside. Their og!mom is a park ranger and I tend to have Kendis' from Montana; the famed Big Sky Country. If I remember correctly, I believe I've said Kendis knows how to ride a horse. They definitely learned to shoot; probably to use a knife and fish as well. If it is nature affiliated, Kendis adores it. I often have Kendis roaming about in woods - that's why qunari Kendis and dragon kendis have halla and deer type horns. Kendis' prefered mode of transportation are their feet and bikes [Bicycle Day is April 19th! ;-P]. Yeah, actually, I think going with 'outside' suits their curious nature well. Even when in a city - especially in a new place - Kendis enjoys being out and about; finding hole-in-the-wall places to eat, searching for the best thrift stores, chatting with and minding their business people, and so on.

Val: I almost went outdoors, but I would say indoors. I don't think Val goes out much, at least not in Wayhaven. They don't want to sit still nor do they want to do paperwork, but I don't think that means they want to be out and about just to be out and about. I say indoors, but they have to be doing something, I feel. Val's preferred time off is working on bikes -- motorcycles, mopeds, and the like.

🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?

Kendis: They just like to eat? I honestly don't remember ... actually, no. Kendis loves gumbo. I think that is One Of their favorites

Val: does a monster count? lol. Maybe a hot dog? Actually, I think I'm going to say cheetos. I feel Val likes something they can probably quickly open with one hand [and some teeth] and chow down as easily; so I think like popcorn, etc. Something probably unhealthy for them if they eat continuously. Honestly a shock that they dont have scurvy ....

😓 DOWNCAST FACE WITH SWEAT — is your oc open-minded or stubborn? are they inquisitive or do they prefer to keep to their bubble of knowledge?

Kendis: Kendis is both the bullet train and the impending wall. Kendis is open-minded in a sense that if you can challenge them or pique their curiosity you might have a chance of shifting them off track; it is hard for them to resist a dare and they're nosy. Actually, I feel Kendis' sense of "open-mindedness" is like A's ... stubborn as all heck but not against being pushed or shifting what they know with different information. Though, with Kendis I feel they're more inclined at digging their heels when they feel 'in their gut' something is off. Maybe if they were 900+ years old they would be more bendable. lmao. So basically that is my long winded way of saying Kendis is stubborn af. LMAO. As for the second question, Kendi is actually quite inquisitive lmao. I think it works out for Kendis the balance [though not always evenly balanced] of 'immovable object' type of stubbornness vs their 'unstoppable force' of a curiosity is that Kendis is a compassionate creature. So, lmao, the thing that gets her shifting her views about people [in minuscule steps] is sympathy. As for objects and topics, it is in fact that they're kinda know-it-all. Imagine if some bitch ass punk they hated caught them with a n ignorant view and embarrassed them?? Ooo wee. Never gonna happen. So, I guess in short -- Kendis' pride is the fuel but also the stopper of their stubbornness lmao.

Val: Val is stubborn. It is hard to get Val to shift certain perspectives and beliefs. This is why they still radiate with dislike for Rebecca at a level - at times - that feels like they're still the child that was hurt. It is to the point that I'm actually surprised that they forgave Adam for the kiss and wants to fight for him - they tend, I feel, against things that damage their self value. I think when they have a case, they go in ... actually, I feel they sort of go in empty. I think maybe they want to know as little as possible if they need to be at site. Because otherwise they would go in with preconceived notions.

i think about this scene a lot regarding him and (obviously) this episode in general, but especially when slinkman is like... actually a character that gets development and changes over the course of the show, it really does say a lot to me

and with the placement of scenes here, it's right in between lazlo, raj and clam getting slinkman to muster up the courage to show off his past aspirations, to give it another go, only to be reminded of how all that turned out, panic, and flee back to what's comfortable... aaand in between him finding out everything is actually lumpus' fault, and very purposefully sabotaging a budding dream, at that

and i think he's sort of gone through life in this way for a long time, this humble and passive acceptance of the roles and duty he's been placed in, of the world around him deciding who he's supposed to be. especially to lumpus. a best friend, sure, but nowadays an assistant, an emotional support crux to keep him (and the camp) from falling apart. i've always ran along with the idea that running camp together was lumpus' idea from the start, and look how it's turned out

i love how he says "pull yourself together", too, the tone he has as if he's scolding himself for daring to think or try to be anything like that again, that he should know better by now, when the moment's far passed

although, i don't think fame and danger/excitement are what he really wants out of life, even deep down — not anymore, at least. in the end, it's a lot more about healthy self development and sort of taking back "control" of his own path in life, right? and at the same time, a little of all that now and then wouldn't hurt...

The Silverer lazily reclines in the Scoundrel's bed. At first, it is unclear where she came from, but the mirrors in the room look recently tampered with- so the answer is easy to arrive at.

"Fingerkings." she says. "Your semi-loyalty to cats has always been a mystery to me; you've never been the kind to be loyal to any army. Why is it that you scorn my friends so?"

The Scoundrel stops in their doorway for approximately one straight minute. They blink once. Twice.

They promptly skip over and flop beside the intruder with a huff, resting their head on her shoulder as they study their claws in abject boredom. It's surprisingly cuddly, all things considered. They almost seem content in this position.

"One," they hold up a finger, "The cats provide an essential service. They pay us for our time at Port Carnelian. We pay them in kind. We have long-since established a working relationship. It would be a shame to break that establishment now... and thus, their enemies are our enemies."

"Two," yet another finger, "As persons- tja, animals- of noble status, it is only right that they rule Parabola. It's merely the natural order of things. The Fingerkings refuse to recognize that claim, and they should be punished accordingly."

"Three," they bring this finger over to tap at the Silverer's nose, "Your beloved serpents are duplicitous and vile and cats are adorable, delightful creatures, who have never done anything wrong in their lives. Ja, even regarding the Sixth Coil."

Before the Silverer can retort, the Scoundrel raises a fourth finger- and then their thumb, just for the apparent hell of it, patting her cheeks with a satisfied purr. "Four. It is a bother to you in particular. And we do love the faces you make..."

They trail off, meeting her gaze.

Their cheeks flush. Their ears twitch. They blink furiously, then turn away and shove their heel against her shoulder.

"Which is all to say, get out of our spire already!!" they point towards the door with a chirp bordering on a shriek. "You have a perfectly good paramour to steal a bed from!!! He wouldn't even complain about it!!!! This is our room!!!!!! Out!!!!!!!!"

what is the process of writing to you. when is it most fun? what does it give you?

I think, fundamentally, what draws me to writing and why I started in the first place and what makes me want to come back to it over and over is that it gives me a way to turn daydreams I have into something tangible.

there are lots of places that I see story potential (or like, standup comedy potential) and it's like, if I can't express that in some way to another person or an audience, then I don't know what to do with myself. The ideas that come from seeing and feeling that potential just keep turning over in my mind and driving me crazy until I make a little note to myself that I can hopefully come back to later to flesh out. I love it--I can't turn the daydreams off, they just happen because I like thinking about different characters or making characters up or I attach myself to an idea/philosophy and want to do something with that idea to explore it--and writing about it helps me do that and helps me make the potential I see more real.

So that's what it gives me. And also kind of my process.

My process is hard to nail down because I think it's changed a lot recently since I have to write boring things for work. But learning how to do that has made me a more productive writer (finally consistently making a practice of: just put something on the page). And I haven't had a lot of time or energy to explore how that has affected/improved my creative writing abilities (but I'm trying to get back into it).

Usually, anything longform that I write is an idea that gets carried away from itself, but it can be difficult to see an idea through if it just pops into my head as a single scene or something. Coming back to an idea to flesh it out is really satisfying and exciting but it can be easy to lose steam if I don't keep having ideas to add on to it. (I love when writing out a note for the initial idea gives my brain room to work in the background of me doing other tasks and builds out more of the story from there, though--that's like magic).

I think the best stories I have are ones that start with a purpose that I can work backwards from. Like, I decide on a premise or a goal for the type of story I think I want to tell and then figure out how to make it happen.

When I was writing creatively a lot, I just wound up sitting in front of the computer unless something had just inspired me. The only way I know how to go about doing it is by thinking about what I want my characters to feel or do and trying to cobble together ways to contrive that. I lovvvvve exploring and trying to nail down internal motivations. Something I want to get better at is figuring out how to develop an awareness and understanding of shifting character motivations over the course of a story.

Also my favorite way to write is when I have a writing partner to discuss ideas and plot points with. Instant validation and motivation rolled into one.

But yeah, whether I'm writing my own fiction or fanfiction or a nonfiction essay, none of it happens unless I actually start putting ideas down on the page and then trying to connect those ideas together. And that's where my focus lies these days on pulling a piece of writing together.

seeing the egos it has, id call her more similar to faust rather than sinclair. sinclair's "you refuse to look at me because i'm hurt? then see what it's like to feel my pain then" is within her, but it's rare. (for example, the red shoes does focus on bella's hatred for her circumstances - but it can only reach that rage so well by disregarding, and therefore lacking, all guilt.)

bella does feel animosity towards her circumstances, but it's usually overshadowed or like. kept down with self-blame and "it's a necessary evil. it was just preparing me for the cruel world ahead of me." (and more minorly, "it benefitted others, too, so i shouldnt be ungrateful...")

so for hex nail, i dont think that like buried rage/hatred would come through - instead, it'd focus on how her pain has defined her. she would act naturally and seek love and connection, unaware that the abuse she's suffered affects her ability to love and keep relationships/connect with others now. like faust, neither of them seem aware that the nails lodged in their bodies will hurt others, perhaps because they can't feel the pain - they're used to their circumstances and see them as normal. so they don't understand why they keep being disregarded or abandoned.

also, the mirror dungeon event with the abno is very bella as well. i read that and went yep. yep thats her.

hmmm honestly first thing that comes to mind is my friends! we call a lot so i get to watch them draw and i think it has influenced my style quite a bit. other than that ... one thing i do get influenced by a lot is concept art from media i like. smth abt concept art is always rlly good to me

and im not quite sure how id describe my style! its kinda hard for me to describe it at all LOL, it was very interesting seeing how other people would describe my art though, back when i asked for the evil art style challenge [which i still need to do, whoops] if i had to try though, maybe textured and soft? just bc i hardly ever use sharp angles in my art and always use textured brushes lmao
