Brainstorming a post canon story where Lucanis is adjusting to life as the first Talon under Caterina’s watchful eye and juggling that with his and Rook’s relationship. Thinking Caterina will be a hardass as usual and criticizing most things Rook does (works with a De Riva but might be even more fitting with a Rook unfamiliar with the politics of the Crows) while Rook is trying Very Hard to earn her approval for Lu’s sake because despite his tense relationship with his grandmother she is important to him.

Culminates in Caterina speaking with Rook alone one night and out of nowhere Caterina swipes their cheek with her cane, leaving a very precise but shallow cut. She tells Rook that had it been an attack from an assassin truly meaning to take their life they would already be dead, and that being the lover of the First Talon requires someone vigilant and able to care for themselves.

Lu returns to their room that night (stressed as he normally is these days) and Rook tries to keep that side of their face angled away from him but Spite catches the scent of dried blood and tips him off. He’s worried and furious of course, but Rook is reluctant to tell him who did it and when they finally do Lu goes to storm out and confront Caterina. Rook stops him and asks if it’s him or Spite and Lu is a little taken aback and hurt that Rook assumes that because it is Caterina who did this he would somehow be less willing to react. He swears that Rook is family, and if Illario is not exempt from consequences for harming family Caterina is at least going to get an earful. Rook apologizes for assuming he wouldn’t stand up for them against his grandmother, and for treating Spite as a rabid animal with no self control. Cue sweet moment with hugs from both arms and wings.

Lu takes a moment to clean the wound up gently, also collecting his thoughts and calming himself down. Rook realizes somewhere in the middle of this that the clever old hag had meant for this all along. Harm Rook superficially after weeks of building tension -> get Lucanis mad enough to confront her in a blind rage -> pontificate on lessons about allowing judgment to be blinded when it comes to Rook. It was a test to see if he would charge in blindly to defend their honor or if he would take a moment to think and plan. He had almost failed, and would have if not for Rook.

He isn’t thrilled that it makes some sort of sense, but she is a 70-something year old assassin who was First Talon until recently so she obviously knows her shit. He approaches her later and insists that both he and Rook had heard her loud and clear, but any further lessons or advice for him will be delivered via verbal communication and counsel. Caterina agrees, looking as proud as a stoic old bat can. She may not be happy with the tone that he takes but something can be said about the fact that he is willing to take it with her after all this time.

She explains that it is crucial that if he as First Talon is to take a lover he must accept that he will not always be able to protect them from the dangers this life entails. They must be able to defend themselves against all threats, but even more important is that if something should happen to them, Lucanis will keep a level head. His enemies will expect him to be blinded by grief and rage, sloppy and prone to leaving himself unguarded. A true First Talon will keep his head about him and make his enemies suffer. A true First Talon will honor a loved one’s memory with the blood of their enemies, not by falling on a sword in their name.

I really wished the anime adaptation of Beastars didn't simplify, summarize and erase so many details, but if I could make just one element come to life in the anime that would be a loyal portrayal of Haru and Louis.

Their relationship just hits so much harder in the manga, specially in the beginning. In opposition to the anime, the manga shows us a much more intimate relationship, with Haru's feelings being, without doubt, the ones of a first love. Not only that, but Louis is written as caring for her a lot (I'm not sure I'd label it as love in his case, because he's Louis after all) and I'm pretty sure she's the only girl he has been with.

I miss it so much in the anime. The sadness that comes with their relationship simply and cruelly dying in the air, their lives suddenly apart. A slow, silent change. When they realize it, both have different lives and partners, they have outgrown what they were.

Plus, while Legoshi/Haru is 100% my OTP, I lowkey hate Haru being pushed in the role of a perfect girlfriend. Her love for Louis was core of her character path, it hurt her to lose him! It's tragic how she loved this complex man and had to let him go. This doesn't lessen her love for Legoshi, in fact, I believe this experience makes her better, as she decides she will not be letting Legoshi get away like Louis did.

(One day... One day I will make a proper essay on these two. My lovely rabbit and her sad Bambi... Poor little things).

i do not know how to explain to people that "transmisogyny" is the specific transphobia that trans women + transfems face (often but not exclusively at the hands of cis people), and "transandrophobia" is the specific transphobia that trans men + mascs face (often but not exclusively at the hands of cis people), and that they all come together under the umbrella of "transphobia." these are not opposing concepts nor are they mutually exclusive, to believe in one does not mean non-belief in the other. is there a simpler way of phrasing this. can i be clearer.

10 min into the chapter and the good doc's already showing why he's a good one cause the way he spotted the winchester's codependent relationship in only a few hours??? Not only that but he actually said it was "dangerously codependant", i mean he's right but ouch and then we have that talk between dean and his not so therapist, which is actually worse when u re-watch it KNOWING it's dean and his crazy mind. He's having a therapy session with basically HIMSELF and (screams) ofc he's asking himself all the right questions. i mean she started that convo asking 'bout his sleep (he survives w only a couple of hours(and idk if that's the correct word im drunk)) and HIS DRINKING PROBLEM and we got the tell me about ur father thing

AND IN THEIR SECOND CONVERSATION SHE ASKS why is he the one who's gotta save everyone? why it can be anyone else? how is that fair? How many people does he have to save to call it a day? AND the crushing realization that it is horrible. the weight of his duty is crushing him. he can't save everyone.

then the third is the charm and the not so therapist is showing her true colors saying "Did you really think that you, Dean Winchester, with a GED…and a give-them-hell attitude, were gonna beat the devil? Please. The world is gonna burn, and there is nothing that you can do." AND it´s not her saying those horrible things, it's Dean's mind. Those are Dean toughts, that's how he sees himself.....

So they kick ass and save the day, go all c r a z y and almost kick the bucket BUT WE ARE NOT DONE YET cause Sam's mind is in shambles (a-fuckin-gain) and he can't not be honest, not when his crazy mind has told him about how his lies were the cause of all those deaths, not when he finally has a clue of what's happening to him, what was always inside him (it's ANGER) and Dean- Dean says "You're gonna take all that crap and bury it. You're gonna forget it, because that's how we keep going" It's an awful advice, zero healthy, the absolutely wrong thing to say, to even THINK. But that's how he has always been. So Sam shuts his mouth and gets into the Impala, doesn't go against Dean's word, even tho i really think he really WANTS to cause he has most of the winchester emotional intelligence, because, and i repeat, HE'S IN SHAMBLES. Im gonna kword myself UGH i hate them !!! i love them!!! End of the communicate i just wanted to put my very disorganized thought into words lol
