A little gift for my mutuals' and also added some Aus I liked. You can't imagine how sad it was to see a lot of abandoned or one-time-only Aus :( BUT I still wanted to add some. I think there's a lot of great Aus in this small, Tawog Tumblr community, and I wanted to draw some of these together as a sign of unity in the fandom. Yeah, we can fight for stupid things, but in the end we all share our passion for this silly show. (Ik Rupaul is a fusion, not an Au but fuck it they're fun to draw)

Interpretations I've seen for why Matt saved Fisk (from fans and articles):

He was a good man defending his worst enemy, referencing Dex's previous line.

Didn't want anyone to die.

Didn't want Dex to kill anyone else, no matter who.

Ironic parallel to him not saving Foggy.

Making up for trying to kill Dex in the premiere.

Parallel to pushing the man out of the way when he was blinded. Just who he is.

He really hates Dex.

Remorse after discovering Fisk is innocent in Foggy's death.

Keep Fisk alive to face justice. (For what?)

Make Mayor Fisk look bad if he ever goes after Matt Murdock publicly.

Mitigate fallout with Fisk for his return to vigilantism.

Jujutsu Kaisen Observations #- i lost count im sorry but this is ep. 24

okay two things:

One: I really love that Gege put in a system that made it so that there was a reason for people to stand around gabbing at each other and explaining their powers and having actual conversations in the middle of their beef, because it is just. such an annoyance for a lot of people, i think, (and a pet peeve of mine personally) and that's such a fascinating and neat way to actually incorporate it into a story, and make it not a weakness, but actually a strength for the characters, as well as the plot and story itself.

and Two: Kugisaki Nobara is a fucking badass.

Old Gods of Appalachia gives me the same vibes as listening to music by Lord Huron— it’s just the perfect blend of supernatural and folktales and being so deep in the woods it feels like the light can’t reach you anymore, and I am absolutely in love.

March Community Poll: That Folksy Feeling

Way, way back, for the original Super Famicom release of the first Bokujou Monogatari, there was a Satellaview broadcast version of the game that had an accompanying live radio show that included Japanese folk music while you played. To my knowledge, this is the first time any sort of licensed musical performance was associated with the series, though later Japanese ads would use songs from pop groups like Dreams Come True.

So naturally, it got me thinkin': If they were to try something like that again with the modern series, and outside Japan this time, what would they pick? It could be for a trailer, opening, credits, festival, whatever. For those who've never heard these songs before, I threw together a playlist real quick for ya:

Of course, I'm no expert. This is hardly a comprehensive list and more of a jumping off point since folk music was what the Japanese side of the series used first. Plenty of stuff from Europe and before the 20th century out there too, like Scarborough Fair, or songs from other genres like Fields of Gold that touch on the themes and imagery of the series. There's a lot to explore.

Maybe some day it'd be worth talking to someone more well versed in older music and really digging into the concept. If nothing else, it'd probably give characters like Griffin and Gustafa more songs to play if there was some good traditional music that didn't need licensing at all. Might also be worth it for an indie dev out there looking to give their own game's musicians something to sing at their festivals.

aoughhhh argenti quest...how to be the most capable but cringefail at the same time? Hes the master at them simultaneously.

and i find his relationship with velite very...interesting. during the whole quest it felt like smth happened between them (?) Im not sure how to describe it. The thing abt hsr is time is only convenient to the story. Weeks will pass and the reader wont be informed. Exactly how many days were we in the sting or wtv it was? Definitely more than one day. I might have thought otherwise if velite was not part of the quest, but his behavior says more time has passed. He starts with annoyance than near the end feels affection towards Argenti. He talks as if they have gotten a lot closer over the course of the quest, which further soldified my thoughts. How much time passed from the events of the quest and Argenti's mssgs? Obviously quite a bit since Velite changed careers during this time and how Argenti helped.

Overall the quest was pretty cool, but it would've been so much better if they just added a scene like "___ days later..." or smth like that. Or "the next day". The timing kinda threw me off since it didnt take very long but felt as it should have.

But what himeko said at the end kinda made me sad for argenti. He's essentially looking for something that can't be found. Or maybe idrila can idk how aeons work.

Amazing, take some of the side character demons from Evil Bound.

Vincie is a menace to Chuck and Chuck alone so in Hell, Chuck hexes his hand behind his back so that he isn't grabbed as much (and it's harder to pet him). Chuck is like the most irresponsible older sibling ever to demons though so Kelvin recruits him (as an older sibling vibe) to go help him get his ACTUAL older sibling from Earth. Chuck agrees. And then drags Vincie from Hell with them because no one else wants to babysit him and he refuses to unbind the hex just to re-hex when he returns to Hell.

In Hell, Kelvin actually doesn't appear much different than his human form! Like Kronos, the lines under his eyes are red in Hell but black on earth. Chuck however? In Hell he has wolf-ish ears and has a fur lining his neck (note the neck scars in human form). In addition to that he has four eyes in Hell (note the scars under his eyes in human form). Vincie just has horns in Hell. And! In Hell the hex doesn't have a silly looking "tied up" look, it's invisible unless Vincie strains it with movement and then its red text. But it shifts on earth to be visible.

Vincie's biggest agony for the entirety on earth is "dude it's colder here than in Hell I want a jacket to slip my arms into BUT I CANT BECAUSE IM BOUND".

Thinking about characters with thematic parallels like wow are you guys just obsessed with each other why does every one of your traits mirror the others and why does every little thing about you share something with some part on the other side. That’s really gay. And why r u sharing leitmotifs… what’s up with that.

Speaking of Tyrest. A lot of people forget that he treated Pharma with absolute disdain, not only using him as a test subject for a clearly painful mass murder machine, but talking to Pharma like he saw him as nothing but some henchman to order around that was nothing more than a 'diseased cripple' if Tyrest hadn't come to rescue him.

Like it really is an interesting background dynamic with some curious implications, but when you look at fandom posts from around that issue/the years after, for some reason people just saw "Pharma worked with Tyrest" and concluded Pharma is a card carrying bigot ksjfnskxkd. Like yeah Pharma didn't do anything to stop Tyrest but it seems his main beef with the Autobots was with Ratchet in particular and maybe a general disdain for his ex-comrades. As well as continuing to hate Decepticons which like, not even the "good Autobots" are immune to (even in Pharma's introduction, First Aid says in his journal something like "yeah we all hate Decepticons, but Pharma REALLY hates them"). And despite what fandom likes to construe there's really no evidence in IDW1 that Autobots and Decepticons are different "races" or "types" of Cybertronians, so Pharma hating Decepticons really isn't a bigotry/robot racism thing. And instead probably has something to do with, idk, the 4 million year long galaxy-spanning blood feud war, or maybe being blackmailed and tortured into insanity by the Biggest and Most Decepticon-y of Decepticons.

Tyrest treated Pharma like trash, the other Decepticons working for Tyrest (how come no one ever brings that up btw) also hated him, so if anything it seems that Pharma was more of a rogue element only staying with Tyrest bc he was his best option and probably had no way to even escape.

I'm glad that at least in recent years the fandom has acquired a keen reading eye and good taste to finally recognize Pharma as the (accidentally) complex character he is instead of making him some posh, racist Starscream clone SHSJDGSGDH
