I'm imagining Jason went to help Kon with a case involving a kryptonian plant or smth and he got attacked or ingested it and it made him have kryptonite fangs and so it's a curse borne of their own hubris with this case ! And now they can't kiss sloppy style and Jason can't go down on Kon and it's so saddddd ahhhhhhhhh

Thoughts on a bg3 x the arcana crossover?

first of all thank you sm for the ask!! I really need to get my mind off of things and just think about my blorbos for a while <3

somewhat spoiler-y for The Arcana and Baldur's Gate 3 (I've played all of Arcana but not BG3)

so first of all, Astarion and Asra, right??

not only do they both have curly white hair but I also think that something about them just works (well, not really at first, but it has the potential to work!)

would Astarion mind Asra's absence? maybe he'd like it at first. maybe he'd think it's neat that someone is giving him so much freedom, that he doesn't feel restrained. but... would he begin to resent it? Astarion, imo, longs for genuine connection, but just has too many walls around him. and Asra kinda does too. I think they'd learn to love each other and to fulfill each other's need for connection, while simultaneously giving each other enough room to breathe

Julian.... what can I say about Julian? I hate to be That Guy but he'd work sooooo well with my BG3 Tav, Veles. so they're both masochists, right? it's the first thing that comes to mind lmao. guilt and shame are also something they have in common. but where Julian is more avoidant (remember Doc Talk? that man was READY to break up a relationship that hasn't even officially STARTED (as far as the apprentice and him both knew at the time at least, without their memories and all)) Veles is sooo much more anxious and clingy. Veles's biggest defining quote is Mitski's "if you need to be mean, be mean to me," after all. he would. probably rather DIE than allow Julian to leave him, especially because, well, Julian's avoidance and Veles's clinginess comes from the same place: fear. specifically, fear of hurting the other.

I think Wyll and Nadia would work rather well, maybe as friends, but Karlach and Nadia hmmmmmm that would be nice. opposites attract, right?

I'm sorry but Asra and Julian are my faves, and so is Astarion and I just had to push Veles forward again, also. but what else is there? any other character relations? do you have any thoughts or more specific things you'd like to ask me? feel free to send another ask, or ofc anyone else can join on the convo!!

Hi! Thank you so much for this question! A few people have asked me to talk about this project so I'll just do it publicly here and if anyone has any questions feel free to send them my way :)

I'll try to keep it spoiler free but I'm sooo excited about this I'm finding it hard to SHUT UP HAHA also I'll put it under the cut because I get a bit rambly

SO first things first, it's a collection of short stories, so far amassing around 5000 words. They are all connected, creating an overarching narrative.

The collection is inspired by Sleep Token's concept of there being a deity named Sleep that is ambiguous in their intentions, this deity promising greatness to their followers in exchange for servitude. The "name" Vessel also appears to refer to the protagonist, the first follower of Sleep. With the only other vessel appearing is IV (who is referred to as the Fourth, written in letters, to differentiate from the band themselves).

Fourth plays an important role in the narrative, but not a big one. He only appears/is mentioned a few times.

The stories detail Vessel's journey from making a deal with Sleep to the eventual appearance of doubt in his worship of the goddess. He starts to realize that perhaps this deal isn't all that which he'd hoped it would be, he starts to realize that he is being hurt much more than he is getting out of the deal.

Sleep is a metaphor for anything toxic or hurtful in one's life. Vessel is all of us. His journey is that of unlearning self-deprecation and self-destruction, learning self-love, healing etc.

Friends who've read this story have told me that they're very curious if there will be a part 2 because of the contents of the epilogue, and... yeah, I'm weak, I will write a part 2.

Part 2 will deal with the real lives of the vessels (important note: I have never looked up the members' identities, the characters in these projects are based on the members' persona onstage, never on their real life identities) and their slow but sure realization that they have all met in the Dreamworld, as well as follow their struggle to fully rid themselves of Sleep, something they've been trying to do at different rates since the first collection of stories (fuck, I spoiled it ;;).
