About a year ago, I posted a fic list for fanfic some amazing people have done in the Devil-verse. Since then, there's been a bunch more from some incredibly kind and talented people, and if I can't squee about them here, where can I?

As always, be aware of ratings, warnings, and pairings. If I’ve somehow missed one, please let me know!

(un)planned cuddles and hot chocolate by Anonymous_Wraith  (2,245 words, complete, no pairing) Because sometimes what Alex needs is a hug, whether he can admit it or not. Sweet, adorable, fluffy, and a perfect antidote to the, uh, somewhat heavier angst of Devil itself.

Pyrrhic Victories by galimau  (6,396 words, complete, Yassen/Alex) galimau describes it as "I decided that what this universe needed was even more messy boundaries, repression, and things that Yassen and Alex definitely weren't talking about" and that sums it up perfectly. Sometimes politics means pretty words, and sometimes politics means accepting a night's entertainment to flatter a client. Alex is used to the first and about to have his first run-in with the second, with all the complications that follow.

horizons by kaminoko_x  (6,477 words total, complete, Jack/Yassen) An amazing T-rated Alpha/Beta/Omega AU that explores the very different relationships that follow from that sort of world and does it so smoothly, it feels like a piece of a puzzle that slid into place. The characters are still themselves and the world is fascinating and it's so much fun to explore.

Talking Stage by Nathlyn  (3,975 words, WIP but one-shots, Yassen/Alex) For all that Alex has worked with Yassen for years - and for all that it feels like Yassen is an all-knowing mind-reader sometimes - there's so much Alex doesn't know about him. And sometimes it's the little things that make him human. Because when it's Yassen Gregorovich, even a question like 'How do you take your coffee?' might as well be a state secret.

Lessons by Sigma  (7,332 words, WIP, Yassen/Alex) In one world, John and Helen Rider had a boy. In another, Alex was born a girl, and her time with SCORPIA was a very different experience. It's a super interesting look at what changes when Alex isn't Alexander but Alexandra. Not just Alex herself but her relationship with Yassen and the rest of the world around her - for better or for worse.

Ruthless by Valaks  (13,564 words, complete, no pairing) Alex's training never stops and neither do the tests he's exposed to - and certainly not when Dr Three is about to retire and wants to make sure Alex makes for a suitable heir. An amazing mission-gone-wrong fic and the slow descent into paranoia as things keep not adding up and slowly and inexorably spiral out of control.

Lessons by Valaks  (6,165 words, WIP but one-shots, no pairing) Yassen is a patient teacher. Not always kind, not always merciful, but always patient ... even when Alex isn't the most willing student. It takes years to shape a teenager into a future Head of SCORPIA and Yassen has a lot of lessons to teach. A wonderful collection of one-shots exploring their relationship and the lessons Alex must inevitably learn.

2020 isn't a fun year by victoryhonorfame  (1,109 words, complete, Alex/OFC) Alex was a handful as a kid. It seems like it's only karmic justice that he gets a taste of that himself when he attempts to juggle SCORPIA and a daughter that's every bit as bad as he was - while in quarantine.

Ouroboros by victoryhonorfame  (2,786 words, WIP, John/Helen) Before MI6, before SCORPIA, before everything went wrong, John and Helen were young and reckless and in love. Watching John fall for Helen and court her in his own sort of fumbling way is adorable, and the ache at the reminder of what's to come makes for a wonderful undercurrent to it all. Eventual 'John and Helen lives'-fic.

Let sleeping bosses lie by victoryhonorfame  (690 words, complete, no pairing) Even for Yassen Gregorovich, four hours of sleep isn't always enough to take on the world.

Dulce Periculum by wewillalwaysenduphere  (51,642 words, WIP, Yassen/Alex) Even Yassen has a past, and Alex is about to run face-first into it in his own determination to figure out what exactly the complicated relationship between him and Yassen means now that Yassen is retired. The world-building is beautiful and it's such a delight to see them like this - Alex, young and in charge and overconfident, and Yassen, retired and at ease in a way he's never been before.

From what I hear a lot of the finale fic, at least on the Cas-centric side, is Castiel getting powered down? That could be interesting if it's like... "Castiel loses his power and for the first time, his life has absolutely no purpose and also no one to turn to so what does he do and how does he cope/not cope." But I suspect it is more of the "Cas loses his powers and goes back to Dean and Sam to grovel and then Dean grovels too and then everyone is happy again" variety, which I am not interested in. 

Lass, do you have any recs? Have you written any post-finale fic? I've got your Cas/Bal open in a tab but that's set early S6, right?
