Werewolf Steve, but he's just like. A dog. As a werewolf. He behaves like a dog. He has no awareness of human shit as a wolf. He's just a big fluffy idiot that howls at the moon, barks at mirrors, rolls in dirt, and chews furniture.
He also thinks he's a lapdog when he is, in fact. Not.

Death Becomes Us
Part 9: Heads Will Roll
vampire!eddie x supernatural!reader
MASTERLIST PLAYLIST
18+ONLY, vampires, werewolves, mention of witches and ghouls, a pet demobat, a car accident, no smut in this, but definitely next chapter (the kind of non-dream vampire sex you've been so patiently waiting for), reader is taken.
summary: There's a new monster in town, and you are their target. An unlikely trio decides to join forces to get you back. The character Jareth in this is meant to be Jamie Campbell Bower.
word count: 3.6k
author's note: I almost put this on hiatus, but I need to find out how it ends, for my sanity, and I would be more than pleased if some of you wanted to ride it out with me, only a bit more to go. This is not as long as I initially intended, but the next part needs to be all one piece, so I had to split it up. Much love, hope you enjoy.
This chapter takes place right where part 8 left off
“Excuse me?” You balked, looking Jareth up and down there in the alleyway behind Main Vein. “I’m not going anywhere with you.”
Who did he think he was?
A thousand year old vampire, probably. Stronger and faster than Eddie or any vampire you’d met so far.
Jareth smoothed a thick strand of blonde hair behind his ear. “That’s the problem you see. I wasn’t asking.”
A fog settled in among the cold, winter darkness, crowding in like doom. Your eyes darted from side to side, trying to understand what you were up against. Was Jareth alone? Where were those finicky “powers” when you needed them? Even if the superhuman strength you’d been touched with made an appearance, could you take on a vampire?
Did you have a choice?
But then, a wave of fear burned like thorns in your chest and your voice cracked. “Is Eddie okay? Did something happen to—-?”
The smile that spread across Jareth’s face was condescending. “No harm has befallen your trailer park Romeo. Not at my hand, for that matter.”
Not sure how to feel about that answer, you adjusted your bag on your shoulder and took the first step away from him, on the way to your hearse.
“Tsktsk,” he had black gloves on to match his long, leather coat. “Now, I don’t want to take you by force, but I will if you give me no choice.”
You met his eyes with a defiant softness that made him realize, not for the first time, why Munson was clearly so enamored with you. “Are you going to kill me?”
“Truthfully, I haven’t decided what to do with you yet,” he wet his top lip with the tip of his tongue, making eyes at the blood pumping in your throat. “But I wouldn’t mind a taste.”
You shrugged away from him. “Why should I go with you?”
“Because I said so,” he arched his brows, and then leaned forward. “And because I’ve had word that there’s a Ghoul in town looking for you. I’m only interested in your safety.”
You glared at him. “You’re only interested in yourself.”
“Feisty, I like it. Now, come on, this way,” he inclined his head.
You took a few steps and then stopped short. “Wait, a ghoul?”
“Servants to the regional monster government, yes,” he said, like everyone should know that already.
You thought about Steve, waiting for you at the bookstore. You thought about Bela waiting for you to let her out for her nightly fly.
“How long will I be gone?”
“Until my people can figure out what the ghoul wants from you.”
“Why are you protecting me?” You shuffled in front of him.
Jareth sniffed, unable to meet your gaze. “On that note, I am not entirely sure,” he stepped a bit closer then, making you shuffle a step back. “Call it curiosity, perhaps. You fascinate me, and very little keeps my interest these days.”
When his stare finally locked onto yours, you tried not to show fear under the laser focus of his natural intensity.
You slipped into the passenger seat of his Porsche, smelling the leather and expensive cologne, and waited for him to get in beside you. Just as he was about to start the engine, there was a loud bang and crash from above, like something heavy dropped hard and fast onto the roof of his car.
You couldn’t help the scream you let out, peeking up to see that there was, indeed, a dent caving in the metal as if a boulder had crashed into it. A figure leapt to the ground, landing in a crouch between the headlights.
Jareth’s lips peeled away from his teeth with a growl at the sight of Eddie standing there.
Eddie swiped his hair away from his face, expresion softening when he locked eyes with you. He cocked his head and mouthed the question, “are you okay?”
You were just about to click your seatbelt on, but you threw it off with a thwack against the window and stepped out of the vehicle, ignoring Jareth’s protests.
Eddie’s mind raced. He’d been wanting to talk to you about the not so subtle layers of vampire etiquette, but the time was never right. Then he was parking another stolen car in the bay at the chop shop and he’d felt your discomfort, the spike in your adrenaline. Without any vampire claim on you, your blood and your body were fair game to others. If he could make the claim that you were his, the rest of them would have to stay away. Even the older, stronger ones like Jareth.
Eddie went around to your side of the Porsche and met you there, searching your face to see if you’d been hurt.
“Where did you…how did you?” You stammered.
He came to your side, so close that his hand brushed the back of yours. He was breathing heavily, staring at your lips, aching to touch your cheek, to kiss you.
Jareth slammed his car door. “You’re going to pay for the repair, Munson,” he sneered, taking stock of the obvious dent made from his landing.
Eddie licked his lips and moved his jaw as if he were about to say something to you, but then his face tensed when he turned to Jareth.
“You need to know that she is mine,” his throat dried up when he caught the side glance of your head swiveling to get a better look at the words that were coming out of his mouth. Fully expecting to have you cut him off and disagree, he continued. “I claim her as my mate.”
Your first urge was to challenge the sentiment, but Eddie pinched the side of your hand and pulsed there a few times to let you in on his intentions.
“Is this true?” Jareth’s stare bore into you.
You decided to trust your friendly neighbor. “Um, yes, I’m with him,” you were sure that any and all lies would be instantly detected, but the truth was, you didn’t mind saying it.
“Well, that is unfortunate,” Jareth cleared his throat. “Nevertheless, I advise you to come with me.”
“What’s going on?” Eddie took his chance and snatched your hand in his. You liked the feel of it, so you let him. “Where are you taking her?”
Jareth’s eyelids fluttered as if he were bored to death. “If you must know, there is a Ghoul named Brenner in town who's been asking questions about your…mate.” He bit the final word out sarcastically.
At the mention of Brenner’s name, Eddie stiffened. It was familiar to him, more familiar than he wanted to admit. He shifted uneasily to interlace his fingers with yours.
“And a witch, a very powerful one,” Jareth confirmed. “Possibly even a necromancer.”
You weren’t certain what that meant, but realization seemed to dawn on Eddie’s face.
You turned to get a good look at Eddie, to search his eyes as if he had the perfect answer for how you should answer that, but his milk chocolate orbs only mirrored your search for answers.
There was also something else behind his eyes, a type of silent pleading that you couldn’t put your finger on.
The truth was, you had no idea you were special. Not even after that day back in your hometown when you were able to push a man out of the way and stop a moving truck with your bare hands so that it would not crush the both of you. He’d been going way too fast, about to run a stop sign. The driver told people your eyes were all white, void of iris or pupil, and there were two indentations left in the metal grill where your hands had been.
Your father had not explained the weight of your new gifts before he passed. You liked to think that he hadn’t known, how could he?
While you’d stood there talking, the fog had grown more substantial, it had weight and texture, so much so that you had to squint to see Jareth on the other side of the car.
“Wait,” Jareth held his hand up, squinting into the haze around him. “Did you hear that?”
No mistaking, there it was again, a whooshing noise, along with the soft timber of chanting voices.
You watched in horror as Jareth’s body seized, trembling where he stood as if being controlled by puppet strings, eyes rolling back in his head. His jaw went slack and his head bent back.
Someone or something was controlling him, possessing his body.
“What is happening?” You gasped, clinging to Eddie.
“I don’t know,” Eddie was already on the move, pulling you toward him to take you into his arms and run. “But I don’t want to wait to find out.”
But he wasn’t fast enough
You felt his body go rigid, too, hand falling limp in your grasp
You turned to find him in a similar state; eyes quivering back into his head, body stiff and vibrating as if he were caught in the grip of some strange, upright sleep paralysis.
“Eddie, no!” You cried, reaching up to take his face in your hand. Every muscle in his body was tense and his breathing shallow.
“Eddie, you’re scaring me!” You choked on your fear, tugging at his arm.
But then there came another sound, one that made your blood run cold.
“I control the dead,” a soft, feminine voice said. “And it just so happens that your sweetheart and his friend are no longer living, if you hadn’t noticed.”
You spun around in a circle, seeing no one. “Who are you? What do you want?”
She appeared to you then, like a vision. Long, ebony hair and a dark purple velvet cape, her sharp green eyes were familiar to you in a way you didn’t understand.
“I want you, Dove,” she said with a sly grin.
The woman said something else, in language you didn’t recognize, and she blew some type of dust into your face from the palm of her hand.
You were able to let out the first part of a scream for help before your knees buckled and you were falling into an inky abyss.
—----
Since you were late, Steve was on his way over from the bookstore to check on you when he heard your broken, shrill cry.
He called your name and started to jog, peering in through the blanket of fog that was finally beginning to dissipate.
He vaulted over the hood of one of the cars, pouncing into the street just in time to see the SUV with the tinted windows speed away from the curb, tires squealing.
“Hey!” With a growl, and a red glow to his eyes, he ripped his clothes off as he ran, turning into wolf form along the way. He was sleek and dark gray, so fast and agile, wearing the night like a cloak.
He chased the vehicle into the night, eventually keeping pace with it through the forest, no matter how much it picked up speed.
—-----
In the shadows of an abandoned building near the tracks with broken out windows and a crumbling roof, Eddie gave a few tight blinks of his eyes; they felt dry and itchy, like someone had thrown salt in them. There were slabs of broken concrete and a metal beam in front of him from the half-demolished structure. The air smelled like rat feces and urine, and he was seated on the ground with his hands behind his back.
He shifted to test the strength of his restraints and hissed in pain as the silver chain around his neck and wrists burned him, making a sizzling noise like eggs in a frying pan.
“It’s no use,” the deep voice behind him said.
“Jareth?” Eddie turned his head and cringed in pain again.
Both of them were secured to a thick, cement pillar, facing away from each other.
“Are we alone?”
“As far as I can tell,” Jareth said in his typical, monotone voice.
“What the hell was that?”
“The witch I warned you about would be my guess,” Jareth returned flatly. “And if you hadn’t slowed us down, we might have had a chance to escape her.”
Eddie went silent, trying to concentrate on the magic force that connected him to you through the sharing of each other’s blood, but he couldn’t hear you…couldn’t feel you, and that worried him more than anything.
“What is she going to do with her?”
“I am ancient, but I am not a psychic,” Jareth drolled.
Just then, a huge wolf with red eyes leapt through the gaping hole on the side of the building and trotted over to them, panting, huge tongue lolling out of its mouth of jagged teeth. Both Eddie and Jareth bared their fangs as the beast closed in on them, sniffing the air as it went.
Steve morphed back into his human form then, and stood before them completely naked.
Eddie retracted his fangs and tried to look anywhere but at the package on the new arrival. “Jesus christ, put that thing away, man.”
“Where is she?” Steve looked around at the empty expanse, trying to get a glimpse of you. “I can’t smell her anymore.”
“That’s because she’s not here, you mongrel,” Jareth sighed, annoyed.
“Did you see where they went?” Chain link welts formed on Eddie’s neck. “The ones who brought us here?”
Steve worked his jaw, angry with himself. “I kept up for as long as I could, but then I lost them on the freeway and had to find the scent again.”
Eddie threw his head back against the concrete pillar with a curse.
“Well?” Jareth interrupted the moment of silence. “You could help us out of these restraints if you wanted to make yourself useful.”
“I’m thinking about it,” Steve gave him a glare, his breath like smoke in the frozen air. “Or I could just leave you to rot.”
“I will spend the rest of my immortal life making you regret that decision—” Jareth’s voice began to raise.
“Enough,” Eddie grunted. “We will be stronger in numbers,” his eyes met Steve’s with a sincere urgency. “She’s in danger.”
“We’ll need to find shelter before dawn,” Jareth reminded him. He looked up at the opening in the concrete with a view of the stars. In a few hours, the sun would turn them to ashes. “Or we will perish.”
Steve tucked his chin, willing to set aside his loathing of fangers long enough to get you back, and squatted down to get to work unraveling the massive chain that pinned the two vampires together.
—----
You could feel yourself drifting in and out of consciousness, or whatever type of spell they had you under, watching the lights from the freeway cut by through half lidded eyes. Inside, you were screaming at yourself to move, to wake up.
Propped up in the back seat, seatbelt across your lap, your forehead against the window. You couldn’t see the person driving, but in the passenger seat was the woman with long black hair. Every time your eyelids fluttered open on an inhale, she was watching you over her shoulder.
“Dr. Brenner will be pleased,” a man’s voice said, possibly from behind the wheel. “Why he is so desperate to have her, I will never know.”
“He wants her because she is the only one of her kind,” the woman gave a sarcastic cough of a laugh, as if your value should be obvious. “Reanimated tissue fused with gamma radiation and witch magic? If he could bottle her strength and regeneration capabilities, he'd be unstoppable.”
“The vampire boyfriend, is he going to be a problem?” the driver asked.
You drifted awake to see the woman’s profile, stoic in the moonlight.
“They’ll be dead by the time the sun comes up,” she sniffed. “For all the bragging they do about immortality, all it takes is a bit of silver and sunlight to eliminate them.”
Your heart rate picked up, alarms going off inside of you. A scream caught in your throat but wasn’t able to form a complete sound.
Something clicked in your brain, and a shift began to take place.
Electricity buzzed under your skin, licking all of your nerves and cells awake.
A change was happening.
The driver glanced at you in the rearview mirror. “You sure we don’t have to worry about her waking up?”
The woman scoffed. “She’ll be out for at least another hour, and then she’s Brenner’s problem. I didn’t just put any old spell on her, that one could put down a team of elephants.’
There was nothing but the sound of tires on the pavement for a few seconds and then the SUV swerved and the man behind the wheel cursed.
“What the hell was that?” He huffed, struggling to get back into his lane. Something huge had swooped down from the sky in front of them, something with the wings of a bat and legs like an octopus.
Headlights came toward the window and someone honked for them to move out of the way.
“I didn’t think there were any demobats on this side,” the woman mused, wondering if that was what she saw, or if her eyes were playing tricks on hre. “They hate humans.”
There came the sound of scratching on the roof
SCRTCH SCRITCH SCRITCH
And then an animalistic yowl, like the caw of a prehistoric bird.
Bela dove again, but this time, she attached herself to the windshield, obscuring the driver’s view of the road.
He swerved again, tires catching in the loose gravel of the median, and she flew off the glass.
“Don’t you have any magic to get rid of this thing?” The guy whined.
“I can’t control demobats, no one outside of the Upside Down can.”
“When that fucker comes around front again, I’m gunning it. Splatter the thing all over the road.”
Behind them, you moaned, brow furrowed, fingers clawing at nothing. Your muscles throbbed like they were being pulled apart.
Bela flew into the side window opposite you with a thump, making a spiderweb crack and the glass, and then she rammed at it again.
“This fucking thing is gonna get in here,” the man spat.
“Just drive faster you moron! It can’t keep up with us.”
He yanked the wheel, pulling the vehicle to the side to try and hit her, but she was already in the air and off again.
You rolled back in your seat as the speed increased with a jolt, and for a moment, there was peace.
The driver checked the rearview mirror again. “I think we lost it,” his attention snapped to the woman with the inky black locks. “What the fuck was that about?”
She was mid-shrug in response to his question when Bela charged the windshield, landing with enough force again to splinter the glass.
This time, there was no wiggle room when he swerved as a semi truck was barreling down on them in the opposite direction, blaring its horn.
The SUV jerked right, tires catching at the lip of a dry irrigation ditch, and then they rolled. There was the sound of shattering glass and the sickening crunch of twisted metal while the two in the front seat let out shrill screams.
And then everything was quiet.
—-------
Back at Eddie’s trailer, Jareth paced outside while Eddie found Steve something to wear.
“These good enough? I think they’ll fit,” he tossed a few things on the couch. Eddie changed out of his leather and slipped on a black hoodie, in case he needed to hide his hair and be in disguise for some reason.
Still in his birthday suit, ass on full display, Steve’s expression was bitchy as he pinched the material to lift it up for a better look.
“A ratty jean vest?” Steve raised a brow.
Eddie popped a cigarette between his lips, crinkling up the empty soft pack of Camel’s in his hand. “Sorry the maid hasn’t come to do laundry today, Princess. Those are the only two things I have that are clean. Take it or leave it.”
“Fine,” Steve rolled his eyes. The jeans he was borrowing had ripped holes in the knees and the shoes were white Reebok high tops. “I’m usually able to plan better when I shift,” he mumbled, stepping into the pant legs, gently tucking his cock inside to avoid the teeth of the zipper.
Once they’d been freed from the restraints at the abandoned building, Eddie hotwired a cement mixer from a nearby construction site, and then they swung by downtown to see if any of the clothes Steve had worn earlier were salvageable in the street, but they’d been obliterated like a bomb went off.
“Just do me a favor and take that off before you bust out of it in another transformation, cool?”
Eddie turned away to take a drag from his smoke while Steve inspected the patches on the battle jacket with a frown.
And that was when it happened.
Like the ringing of a phone in his head
A spasm in his chest
He could feel you calling to him
“This is it,” he screwed his eyes shut, trying to zero in on the emotions you were radiating.
“This is what?” Steve stood in front of the mirror under the clock, adjusting the collar of the vest and raking a hand through his hair.
Eddie’s eyes snapped open, tip of his tongue resting between his lips. He sprang behind Steve on his way to the door, clapping him on the shoulder. “It’s showtime.”

Howl at the Moon
Part two
The return of my favorite version of Stevie, Werewolf Steve🥰 part one here:)
Werewolf Steve x GN Reader
Warnings: a tiny bit of angst at the beginning but mainly tooth-rotting fluff
Dividers by @firefly-graphics
“So what’s your plan here?” Dustin asked, tapping his pen on the rim of his hat.
“What?” Steve let out an exasperated breath.
“Your plan?” Dustin repeated, shooting Steve an incredulous look, “you don’t have one?”
Steve grit his teeth and turned to Robin, very slowly. “Why’d you invite him?” he bit out.
Robin shrugged, “nerd problems require nerd solutions wolfy.”
Steve sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger as he turned back to Dustin. “No. I don’t have a plan.”
“Steve, buddy,” Dustin began, clapping a hand on Steve’s back and making him flinch, “you’re tellin me your mate could walk in here whenever and you’re gonna what? Stand there and gawk?” Dustin shook his head in disbelief.
“That’s what he did when they came in last time,” Robin chimed in.
Steve waived his hands in frustration, “can we all just…” he sighed, trailing off.
“We don’t even know for sure they’re my mate,” his voice fizzled out in a broken whisper, “I don’t want to get my hopes up.”
Robin’s face softened. She scooted closer to Steve, slowly, as if she was afraid to scare him off.
“Steve…” Robin began, “not every partner…they’re not all Nancy.” She placed a hand on Steve’s arm.
Dustin’s eyes flitted back and forth between the two, waiting for the werewolf to speak.
Steve sighed, “I know it’s just-” he rubbed the back of his neck, “I know.”
Robin and Dustin exchanged a look but didn’t push Steve and further.
“Well,” Dustin slapped his hands down onto his knees, sensing the energy change and thinking up a quick excuse, “I better get going then, mom needs me to pick up some stuff for dinner and all that…” he trailed off.
Steve nodded and lifted his hand in a little wave as Dustin rushed to gather his things and head out.
Dustin shot back a wave of his own before striding out the door.
In his haste, Dustin didn’t see you walking into the video store until he hit you with the door.
You stumbled back a bit, your hand flying to your forehead.
At the sight of you hurt, Steve sprung into action.
On his way to the doorway, he slapped the back of Dustin’s head. “Ow,” Dustin grit under his breath.
“Are you ok?” Steve asked you, stepping forward to hold your face in his hand and look you over for injuries.
His wolf brain was completely occupied with ensuring you were safe and unharmed, totally oblivious to how intimately his actions could be perceived.
You however, were not oblivious to the intimacy of Steve’s giant hands cupping your face. You had completely forgotten about the bump on your head as this unbelievably cute guy doted on you.
Your cheeks tinged pink as he studied you closely.
At the sight of your flushed cheeks, Steve flashed back to reality and realized what he was doing. His own cheeks turned red as his hands released you.
“I was just um-” he was mortified, “are you ok?” he repeated.
Your lips pulled up into a soft smile, “yeah I’m fine. Shoulda been watching where I was going I guess”
Steve frowned a little, “he should’ve been watching where he was going,” he gestured to Dustin, “let me get you a band-aid or something.”
Dustin rolled his eyes at the display. As Steve went to go riffle through the supply closet, he slunk to Robin’s side.
“Can I go now?” Dustin whispered under his breath, “or do I need to be scolded some more to placate Steve’s weird wolf thing?”
Robin scoffed a laugh, “get outta here nerd, I think he’s got this.”
Dustin saluted and snuck out the door.
As the front door shut, Steve emerged from the back, blowing the dust off of an ancient looking first aid kit.
“Hop up on the counter,” Steve told you. You did as he asked.
Robin pretended to stock tapes as she watched the two of you.
As Steve popped open the first aid kit, a cloud of dust puffed out. You stifled a laugh while Steve’s brow furrowed.
“I’m really ok,” you reassured him, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Steve’s heart raced at your touch, everything in him screaming to pull you into his arms and never let you go.
Instead he cleared his throat and straightened his back. “You can never be too careful,” he told you, straining to be casual.
You smiled. If this insanely attractive man wanted to take care of you, you weren’t gonna complain. You’d only been stopping by the video store to see him again anyway.
Steve unwrapped a band aid and leaned in to press it to the bump on your head. You weren’t sure how that was supposed to help, but you figured you should just let him work.
As Steve leaned in, he caught a whiff of you scent.
It was the most amazing smell that had ever graced his nose. You were like a mix of honey, cinnamon, and vanilla.
He leaned in even closer, his nose almost touching the crook of your neck. Without thinking, he inhaled deeply.
Your eyes widened, startled a bit. But after the initial shock wore off, you found that Steve’s closeness didn’t bother you in the slightest. It actually made you feel at ease.
Entranced by your scent, Steve’s eyes fluttered closed and he nuzzled the crook of your neck. His wolf instincts were desperate to be close to you, to touch you, to hold you. He hadn’t been sure before, but now? There was no doubt in his mind that you were absolutely, unequivocally, one-hundred percent, his.
You giggled a bit as he nuzzled your neck, the warmth of his cheek seeping into your skin.
The sound of your laughter snapped him out of his trance and he pulled back, face turning bright red.
Robin, who’d been watching the whole interaction, cringed at Steve. She silently prayed you wouldn’t run away screaming.
“I- uh- oh God,” Steve stumbled over his words, trying and failing to explain his actions.
You laughed softly. If anyone else had done that, you never would have let them get away with it. But there was something about Steve that just called to you, with him it was different.
“I want you to have something,” you told him as you grabbed a post it and a pen from the counter and scribbled down your number.
“Call me sometime,” you handed him the post-it before hopping off the counter.
“Yeah! Yeah um… I will!” Steve promised, unable to believe his luck.
You beamed and turned to leave.
“Oh wait!” Steve called after you, “I’m Steve.”
“Steve,” you pretended to ponder his name, as if you hadn’t made your friends tell you everything they knew about the former king of Hawkins high after the first time you’d met, “nice to see you again Steve.”
You waved as you left the store, smiling to yourself and hoping he’d call soon.
As soon as you were out of sight, Robin materialized at Steve’s side. “You’re a real Casanova sniffin’ them like that,” she nudged him with her shoulder.
He groaned, “I couldn’t help it.” He sighed, “it worked didn’t it?”
Robin rolled her eyes, “it’s a good thing you’re pretty,” she teased.

The Wolf and The Witch
Part 1/?
Steve knows better than to enter the Witchwood. He’d been warned from the time he was a child, back before the wolf, that it was home to its namesake. And not just any witch, a dangerous one. One that had killed an entire hunting party, unprompted, with the flick of a finger. None who have entered those woods since have ever returned.
Steve knows better than to enter the Witchwood, but he doesn’t have a choice. Robin is slumped over his back, hands clenched tightly in his fur, clinging desperately to consciousness. He can feel her blood, warm and sticky, matting the fur of his back. His own gait is slowed, every step jolting the silver teeth digging into his right hind leg and sending sharp pain shooting through him. He’s not sure how much longer he can run, and he can hear them - the bloodthirsty cries of the townsfolk dead set on his murder.
They had been found out. So many cycles of living in this town, living among its residents as a friend and neighbour, and still they’ve all turned on him. Of all the times for it to happen, too. It was the moon he had agreed to make Robin a wolf. She had already been weakened from the wolf taking hold when they had been attacked, the silver already a weakness but her body not yet given over to the strength of the wolf.
Steve wishes he could take her to Nancy, knows Nancy would help despite everything, but the townspeople have blocked them off, funneled him in his blind panic. His only hope is to lose them is the wood, but even then he might lose Robin to his own fumbling medical knowledge.
But first, he has to get away from their pursuers. Steeling himself with a deep breath, Steve enters the Witchwood.
————————————————————————
Eddie is no stranger to people trying to do him harm. It’s been a constant in his life from the time he was a child, long before his gifts had awakened. And one that had- well. It’s been a constant of his life, sure as the cycle of the moon and sun. So he notices the prickle of someone entering the woods, but he gives it no regard. It happens a few times a year, that someone gets it into their heads that they will be the one to kill “The Witch of the Woods”. None ever even make it to him, losing themselves in the enchanted trees.
These trees are older than him, and their magic is their own. They like him and welcome him among them, but otherwise are hostile to outsiders. In the beginning, he had tried to help those who became lost in the woods, but those days have long since passed. Despite what his uncle says about his soft heart, Eddie’s become bitter and jaded and he no longer pays any mind to those who venture into the woods.
But this time, something is different. Eddie feels the disturbance of someone crossing into the forest, feels the shift of magic as the forest warps around them, and it’s… different. The ways and paths of the trees are second nature to him, he can tell by the shimmer of magic against his skin which paths have been revealed and which hidden away and this…
The forest is being lenient, gentle. The interlopers are shown the ways to peaceful places, soft and danger-free. Eddie can recall only a few times that the forest has been kind to intruders, and it has almost exclusively been to children.
So he’s more than curious already when he feels the buzz of more people crossing the boundary into the woods. A lot more. And Eddie realizes that this hunt is not for him.
The trees are not so kind this time, opening its twists and turns like a maze, a trap for anyone foolish enough not to turn back immediately. They don’t, of course. They never do. Eddie pays them no mind, drawn instead by curiosity to the two that are being pursued.
He steps between the trees, slipping into a space that’s folded away between reality, picking his way with ease through paths that are there and paths that are not until he emerges at the edge of a small clearing, moonlit and mossy. Theres a tiny spring-fed pond and there, limping toward it, is a wolf. It’s huge, the size of a small bear, with a strong frame and thick russet fur.
It notices him at the same time as he notices it, and it’s massive head swings to face him, teeth already bared in a snarl. It’s hackles raise, and it turns fully, squaring up, a threatening growl rumbling across the little clearing to him.
Eddie steps back, already gathering his power until it glows around him with dark energy, because this is no normal wolf. Even without the size and the silver trap clamped around its leg giving it away, he can see it in its eyes, feel in its presence that this is something more.
He recalls his childhood, the warning tales at his mother’s knee. He remebers later, freshly chased out of town and taken in by his uncle, watching as the old man leafed through his ancient book and warned Eddie that he wasn’t the only dangerous thing in the wilds. Eddie has no doubt that he’s come across one of those dangerous things now. He looks at the wolf and knows exactly what he’s seeing.
A werewolf.

Vampires definitely do get hurt and heal at a very humane pace. It's just that they don't feel pain.
Tony wasn't raised by a coven, so he has no way of knowing this. He keeps telling everyone that he's fine-that drop mid flight and the following crash did not hurt. At all.
Until the Avengers move in. Until Steve—a werewolf with serum enhanced nose—smells a whole lot of damage on Tony and calls for the medics with dawning horror on his face.

Listen, I know all of you could make moodboards but I couldn't! I’m so old that I remember VCRs though so like, chill, okay? But I wanted one for another fic and finally decided to figure it out...I made five of them last night - hey, I said CHILL. 😅 I know, I'm late to the party and I've revealed that I am, in fact, older than 25 but I don't care. Look at my cute moodboard for my Steddie werewolf fic from last year!

Werewolf Billy is all fine and good. But Werewolf Steve? Wolfboy Steve and newbie Billy? Steve who's probably turned a few classmates over the course of his sexual and licanthropal debut.
A Steve who loves to bury bones in Billy's backyard. Pun intended. But also literally intended. Neil being absolutely horrified that some wild animal is tearing up his newly manicured lawn.
A Steve who leaves a dear carcass on Billy's front porch because what fellow apex predator wouldn't want some tasty venison?
A Steve that excitedly asks at school, "anything fun happen this morning?" To ask about his found gift, only to whine and reflexively snap his canines when Billy grabs him by the ear and drags him around a corner and out of sight to talk.
"You think that was funny, fuckwit?" Billy sneers, jabbing a finger into the brunette's chest. Steve smiles beguilingly, hand wrapping over Billy's as he leans in, eyes narrowing and predatory. "You liked it..." He concludes with a thick wet lick of his tongue over Billy's cheek.
Billy blinks back shocked into steely eyes, just daring him to raise his voice or act disgusted.

masterlist playlist
18+Only, werewolf!steve, allusions to smut, allusions to devious deeds, mention of addiction, mention of drinking blood, angst, waitress!erica, Bob Newby lives, Chief Hopper sighting, as well as another glimpse of vampire!max.
summary: you go on your "just friends" date with werewolf!steve, but meanwhile, Eddie makes a bold decision and things heat up between the two of you. Jareth's interest in you grows stronger, as does his determination to find out exactly who/what you are as everything begins to come to a head.
word count: 4.8k
author's note: for the sake of this story, Jareth is meant to be a cross between Jamie Campbell Bower and Eric Northman from True Blood. As a little reminder, The Upside Down exists in this story, but not the same way it does in ST. All of the ST characters in this do not know each other in the same way they do in the show. But, Steve and Robin are friends, because, well, always.
Fanger: derogatory slang for Vampire
Previous Chapter here
One week earlier
Steve was summoned to visit Sacrament in the Upside Down, and he should have gone with a few of his brothers in the pack but decided he didn't want company. He snuck out there through the portal in the woods in his hulking wolf form at first, to sniff the place out, noting the high number of vampires and demobats circling overhead.
He came back the next night in his truck, through the bridge, and was told to ask for Craven at the bar.
Craven sniffed the air and snarled when Steve walked up, and Steve returned the gesture, curling his top lip to show that he had sharp teeth too. Werewolves were very strong—supernaturally so—but they were not immortal like vampires, and so it was always wise to operate around bloodsuckers with a measure of caution.
“I’m here to see Jareth,” Steve shouted over the synth music, squeezing in between two scantily clad human women.
Steve was dressed like he’d just come from chopping wood in the mountains in a plaid button-down and jeans, and a wholesome curl of dark hair that bounced over his forehead. Craven, on the other hand, was tattooed from neck to hands, wearing a wife beater that fit tight around his muscles and slicked back hair that was a bit greasy, but in a sexual way.
“No one sees Jareth without an invitation,” Craven said smugly, throwing a rag over his shoulder to brace his hands in front of him.
Steve gave a wry smile. “You think I’d come here just to shoot the breeze with you Fangers? He knows I’m coming.”
Craven clicked his tongue disapprovingly and went to grab the phone on the wall above the cash register, but in the blink of an eye, Jareth was already standing there, right next to Steve. He must have watched him come in on one of the cameras mounted on the ceiling. Steve moved back, out of surprise, but then he stepped forward again, meeting blonde, vampire Jareth eye to eye, letting him know he wasn’t afraid.
Steve really wasn’t afraid; his alpha ego was too big for that. Sure, he knew there was a chance that an older vampire might best him in the end, but he’d get the fight of his life.
“Whatever he wants, it’s on the house,” Jareth told Craven, all while never taking his eyes off his guest.
Steve declined a beverage and followed in Jareth’s wake through the sea of people moving to the music under the blue lighting.
Back in the simple black and cream decor of his office, Jareth found his firey assistant Maxine sitting behind his desk and he waved her out.
“Oh? You didn’t tell me we were adopting a pound puppy,” she teased with a deadpan delivery, keeping a bored expression on her face.
Steve knew they’d be taking cheap shots at him, he’d prepared himself for it.
“Get out, Maxine,” Jareth said impatiently. “I need to have a word with our lycanthrope friend here.”
She obeyed, slinking out the door in her skin tight latex dress and platform heels, smacking her glossy lips in Steve’s face as she went.
Jareth was in all black with a slim leather jacket on that looked like it had been tailored just for him. He perched at the front of the desk, crossing his booted feet at the ankles, and folded his arms over his chest.
“Take a seat,” he told Steve.
Steve glanced down at the chair in front of Jareth. “I’ll stand, thanks. What is this about?”
“You really don’t know why I’ve asked you here?” Jareth’s face looked like it was carved out of stone. “Do you need a hint?”
For the first time, Steve broke eye contact. “I don’t have any news about the girl.”
Jareth tilted his head back, so that he was looking down his nose at the visitor. “You’ve been keeping an eye on her, like I asked?”
Steve gave a tight nod.
The truth was that Steve hadn’t accidentally bumped into you at the bookstore that day two months ago; he knew where you would be and he’d sought you out. His pack were in league with what some would consider “vampire royalty” and they made a lot of money doing jobs for them.
At first, he started looking out for you because Jareth told him too. But after around the third week, he realized he was protecting you because he cared about you. He didn’t trust anyone from the pack to watch your trailer after dark, so he did it himself. There were a few nights when he swore you’d looked out from your kitchen window and saw him: two red eyes glowing in his honey brown fur.
“What’s your interest in her?” Steve chanced, knowing full well that Jareth would not answer it if he didn’t want to.
“She says she’s human, but I don’t believe her,” Jareth raised an eyebrow. “There’s something else going on with that one, and until I find out, I don’t want any harm to come to her.”
You weren’t human, Steve knew that from the first smell. You were part human, part something else, as if your blood were filled with static from a television.
“I asked you here because I need you to get closer to her, to see if you can find out anything more about her…condition.”
Steve didn’t like this anymore, he felt like he was being dishonest to you, and that one day you’d find out he was hired to watch you instead of being the avid science fiction lover he’d claimed to be. Every time he interacted with you lately, he wanted to mention it, but he couldn’t figure a casual way to say, “hey, I’m being paid to watch you, I sleep in the woods outside your trailer a few nights a week, but I’m starting to have feelings, and was wondering if you were free for dinner?”
Steve pulled his shoulder’s back, puffing his chest out a bit. “If you want to know more about what she is, why don’t you just ask her, man? What’s with all the cloak and dagger?”
Jareth pushed off the desk and walked over to look at a piece of abstract splatter art on the wall while he spoke, clasping his hands behind his back. “My presence at her trailer park would certainly ring some alarms, I’m sure you are not so dense,” his tone was condescending but proper. “I don’t want anyone, especially Munson, to know that I have any interest in her. Not yet, anyway.”
Since Steve had been watching you, he was also well aware of Eddie’s comings and goings. “Eddie hasn’t interacted with her in weeks, not that I’ve seen,” Steve told him. “Appears like the two are avoiding each other.”
Jareth scoffed. “I’m not particularly a fan of his, but when Edward has a job to do, he does it well,” he turned from the painting and went around the desk. “My gut tells me that he has something up his sleeve, and my gut is never wrong.”
Steve let the information sink in. “You don’t think Eddie would hurt her? He’s a car thief and a drug dealer, but not a killer.”
Jareth bent down to pretend to look at some paperwork, but then his eyes lifted to Steve and he smirked. “Is that what he told you?”
“We’ve never really talked but—”
“I’ve been doing my own investigating, but until I get some answers, just get close to her however you can, I want to accelerate this end game.”
“And what endgame is that?” Steve’s voice was low and commanding as he pushed the sleeves of his flannel up to reveal the generous muscles in his forearms. He rested his back against the wall, not sure he wanted to know the answer.
“The official endgame, Sir Harrington,” Jareth’s striking, ancient blue eyes gleamed. “Is none of your business.”
—---
“Sorry about that,” you told Steve as you climbed into the cab of his truck. “I had no idea he was coming over.”
You were apologizing for Eddie, of course, and the way he’d been giving Steve the death stare when he’d come to pick you up. The snow was coming down harder now, in huge wet flakes the size of quarters, plopping like dissolving puffs of cotton onto the windshield of the truck.
“Was he bothering you?” Steve asked protectively, glaring at the door to Eddie’s trailer while you fumbled with your seatbelt.
“No, he’she’s just a friend,” you said, trying to blink away the flashes of all of the sex dreams you had of him that were ricocheting through your head.
After Eddie had stepped out of your trailer and shut the door, he’d stood on your porch for a minute, taking his time to light a cigarette before slowly making his way over to his place. He made eye contact with Steve a few times through the windsheild, wondering if he should kill him.
The inside of Steve’s big old truck was warm, it smelled like winter wool and the yellow vanilla car freshener he had hanging from the radio knob. The song Working Man by Rush played low from the speakers.
You’d heard about the Werewolves of Hawkins from Bob and Argyle when a few of them came into the bar one night. Apparently, they were very reclusive and only ventured to town in human form every so often.
“Have you never seen a werewolf before?” Bob Newby, the owner of the bar you worked at, asked you with a tilt of his head and a curious smile. “They’re all over the woods. Beautiful creatures.”
He’d said it so casually, as if a man turning into a wolf and roaming around at night was the most normal thing in the world.
“Are there no werewolves where you come from?” Argyle asked while he wiped down a bottle of tequila.
You moved your eyes as if to think. “Uh, nope, not that I know of anyway. Hawkins is the only place I’ve ever heard of them ever existing before. What’s next? Are you going to tell me that Faeries and Shapeshifters are real too?”
Bob and Argyle exchanged a knowing look. Bob gave you a consolation pat on the back, “one day at a time there, missy. Let’s give you a chance to get used to werewolves first, and then we can move on to the next.”
That night in the darkness of the movie theater with Steve, you turned to whisper in his ear. “Can you change into a werewolf whenever you want, or only during a full moon?”
He chuckled, leaning in so that his cheek was on your head. He was so warm, you wondered if he had a fever. “When you’re a pup, in the early days, the transformation happens at the most awkward times. Once we get older and learn how to control our emotions, we can go through the change whenever we need to.”
“Like right now?” Your lips were close to his neck, breath tickling his skin, giving him goosebumps.
The side of his mouth moved against your forehead. “Just say the word, darlin’.”
Your hands fumbled together a few times while reaching for popcorn at the same time, and a voice in your head said:
This is nice
Steve is nice
Steve was a good guy who probably thought you were a normal woman who’d led a fairly typical life, and you worried you were misleading him.
There were a few times though, after the movie and on the ride back, when you felt like he wanted to tell you something, but then he would stop short. He’d rub the back of his neck and start out with, “yeah, I’ve been meaning to talk to you,” but then he’d shake his head and jump to another topic.
Steve cursed to himself at how bad he was fumbling the night, he felt like he was a goddamn teenager again.
The only thing he knew for sure after that night was that he liked you a lot, and more than ever he needed to cut ties with Jareth. He’d been meaning to break free from the politics of the pack to become a Lone Wolf, and this felt like the perfect opportunity. He was next in line to be Alpha, but it was a role that he had no interest in playing.
Parked next to the hearse in front of your trailer again, the snow had stopped, but it was up to your ankles now, and you couldn’t help but notice the light in Eddie’s living room was on.
“Here, wait, let me walk you,” Steve insisted.
“No, I’m good,” you were already on the ground, looking up at him across the seat. “If Bela hears your voice too close to the house, she’ll just go nuts again.”
You'd told him about your new companion earlier, and he looked at you like you'd decided to take in a pet dragon.
“I’ll wait here until I know you got in okay.” Steve said softly, giving you a nod. “Hey, are you doing anything tomorrow night?”
“I’m, well, I think–” you stammered. Was Steve about to ask you on an actual date? “I might pick up a shift at Main Vein tomorrow night.”
“There’s going to be a reading at the bookstore, and I promised Robin I’d help string some lights and set up some chairs. So, I’ll be in the neighborhood if you want to get something to eat or, whatever. I’d really like to see you again.”
He said the last part in a rush, partially hoping you wouldn’t catch it.
The admission made your cheeks hot under his steady gaze.
You told him you’d stop by if you weren’t waitressing, and at your front door with the key in the lock, you turned to wave at him one more time over your shoulder before slipping inside to flip the deadlock behind you. You closed your eyes and leaned against the door until you heard the rumble of his truck growl onto the main road, and then you flipped the lights on.
“Mr. Wonderful couldn’t walk you to the door?”
The voice made you jump and a scream caught in your throat.
Eddie was sitting on your couch, arms stretched out over the back of it, as if it were his trailer and he’d been expecting you.
You let the shock of it subside, taking a long breath to slow your heart rate.
You hung your bag on the hook by the door and started to shrug out of your coat. “You know, when I invited you in, I didn’t mean break in whenever you felt like it.”
“I didn’t break in,” he lowered one arm and rested that hand between his legs. “I know where you hide your spare key.”
“It’s not funny, Eddie,” you threw your jacket on the recliner. “I’d like you to leave now, please.”
“How was your date?” He bit out the last part.
“I’m not answering any of your questions,” you stopped in your tracks and looked around, suddenly alert. “Where is Bela? I don’t hear her. Eddie, if you did anything to her, I will —-”
“I would never hurt her,” he moved to stand up, and under his breath he added, “or you.”
“So?” You flapped your arms out, impatiently, blood pressure spiking. “Where is she?”
Eddie came forward and put a finger to his lips, motioning for you to lower your voice. He guided you down the hallway, ignoring your protests, until he arrived at your bedroom door and turned the knob, opening it slowly.
Bela was curled up on your bed in a blanket, breathing heavy like she’d just been dosed with a tranquilizer.
“She broke out again while you were gone,” he whispered. “Blew the bathroom door right off its hinges and came scratching at my door like maybe I had you.”
Your eyes went to the window across the room, seeing that there were boards hammered over it now, which was more of Eddie’s handiwork.
Feeling you softening at his side, Eddie pulled the door closed with a click. You were having a hard time meeting his eyes. You’d been so mad at him, so ready to scream and kick him out into the snow.
“She let you hold her?” You asked, noticing that you no longer had a bathroom door, Eddie must’ve taken it out to fix it.
“I'm charming, what can I say?” he shrugged. “And I gave her some of my blood from a little eyedropper.”
“You what?” You spun on him, appalled.
“Don’t sound so horrified,” He put his hands on his hips once you reached the kitchen. “They need vampire blood to calm their nervous system. She’ll sleep like a baby now.”
In the book you were reading, the author did say that demobats who drank regular doses of vampire blood seemed to fare better than the others, but you’d decided to disregard that information as speculation.
“In that case, I guess I should say thank you,” you opened the fridge and took out the Brita water filter and a glass from the cupboard.
Eddie crossed his arms over his chest and leaned his thigh against the counter. “Did that Steve guy try to make a move on you or what?”
You frowned at him. “Listen, you don’t get to invade my space and bombard me with personal questions. Why does it matter so much to you what we did?”
“I don’t trust him,” Eddie had his eyes trained on one spot in front of him, studying a patch of air while he worked his jaw.
“If it’s any comfort, I don’t think he cares much for you, either.”
Eddie’s head spun to look at you. “What did he say about me?”
“Nothing!” You clarified, raising the tone of your voice to match his. “He didn’t mention you at all, actually. It’s just a feeling I got.”
You took a drink, and when you put the glass back down, Eddie moved in, bracketing your hips with his hands on the countertop, caging you there while he searched your eyes. “Did he kiss you?”
You didn’t answer right away, and so he asked it again.
“Did he kiss you?”
The way his lips hovered there so close to yours made you swallow hard. The air between the two of you crackled with electricity. You waited for his eyes to go black, for his fangs to eject, for him to take your blood into his mouth like he had that night in the alley.
“Would it bother you if he had?” There was an air of pleading in your tone that you had not intended to be there.
Please let it bother you.
Eddie slid his bottom lip through his teeth and leaned back, stepping away from you. “I just think you should keep your distance from him, that’s all. Werewolves are notoriously…” he trailed off as if searching for the right word. “...undisciplined.”
You wondered about Eddie’s discipline, how hard it was for him not to go the rest of the way and claim you just then. To sink his teeth in and suck on that nectar of yours that he craved so deeply. You could see the desire in his eyes, the way the brown irises melted into umber and his pupils expanded.
You would not have stopped him, that was the final truth of it.
In that moment, you knew that if Eddie Munson wanted to kiss you, you would not put up a fight.
You would not pull back and ask, “what are you doing?”
You would just know.
“I changed the bulb in your porch light, by the way,” he added on his way to the door. “Noticed it was out.”
You did not turn to watch him go, you kept your back to him. “Thank you again for Bela and for boarding up the window.”
He mumbled something under his breath that made you look over your shoulder. “What was that?”
He stopped in his tracks with his hand on the doorknob, hair long around the shoulder of his leather jacket. “I said, you know where I am, if you ever need anything.”
Eddie stepped out onto your front porch and exhaled a shuddering, long-held breath. He shut his eyes and rubbed the heels of his palms into them. “Holy shit, Munson, you are such an idiot,” he scolded himself, feeling a sprinkle of snow again on his flesh.
He took a step down and then paused, thinking he should go back in.
Thinking he should tell you…everything.
Maybe you would understand.
Maybe you’d lean into his kiss and pull him closer.
Maybe…
But then the shadow of uncertainty shrouded him and he kept going.
—-------
You ended up covering for Argyle behind the bar the next night while he went to California for a week, and thankfully it was a slow shift because you were still figuring out what alcohol went in which drink. But then a crowd of people on their way to the poetry reading at Robin’s came through, and two of them were vampires, so you had to get out the manual to remember which synthetic blood type to use in the various mixtures.
“Another whiskey with a beer back for the Chief,” Erica scooted up next to you and tapped your arm to get you to lean in closer to her. “Do you think he’s waiting for someone?”
Jim Hopper was in a booth by himself in the dimly lit room, facing the door, and you had noticed that he seemed very interested in getting a good look at everyone who came in that evening. He still had his uniform on, since he was only recently off the clock, and he was tapping his knee and chewing on the side of his fingernail with some type of anticipation.
You knew that if you got closer, you’d be able to get a better read on his emotional state.
“I’ll take it to him,” you said to Erica, and then the two of you talked about the movie you went to with Steve because she hated it and said she was angry those were two hours of her life she could never get back. “I can’t believe you let a werewolf take you on a date,” she squinted. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were looking for trouble.”
You moved around her with both of Jim’s drinks and winked. “I’m the one who’s trouble. They come looking for me.”
“Oh I believe that,” she quipped in your wake.
The closer you got to Jim, the more you could sense the yearning inside of him. There was desperation with sadness around the edges, and the hint of a familiar sinister urge, much like you’d felt with the Klemps all those weeks ago.
His eyes met yours only briefly when you set his drinks down, and then you asked if he wanted one menu or two.
“Not tonight, thanks. I’m waiting for someone, and then I need to split,” he nodded as he warmed the whiskey in his big hands and wiped a sheen of perspiration from his forehead.
Well, there was your answer.
You and Hopper both looked up when the door opened that time, and you were pleasantly surprised to see Steve standing there. Shoulders broad in his plaid shirt and his luscious head of hair looking wild from the wind outside. His face lit up when he saw you.
“Hey stranger,” you walked over to him, beaming.
Steve had been pacing out on the sidewalk between the bookstore and the bar for the past 15 minutes trying to decide if he should go in or not. By the way you were smiling at him, he could tell he'd made the right decision.
“Hey, you,” he gave a smirk and raked his big hand through his unruly hair a few times. He glanced around at the 8 or 9 customers. “Do you have a break soon? Or can I bring you anything?”
“My shift is over in an hour,” you talked as you returned to your station, waving at Bob through the serving hatch. Steve rested his elbow on the bar. “I was thinking I’d make my way over to the bookstore if you’re still around.”
“Oh I think I’ll be around,” he assured, tapping his knuckles on the wood, not wanting to sound too eager. Out of the corner of your eye, you caught Erica glaring at him. She was not much of a fan of the supernatural.
Right behind Steve, a strikingly beautiful woman with short black hair and red lips strolled in. She had a long leather coat that she pulled tightly around her as she walked, and she appeared to know exactly where she was going, strolling over with ancient grace to Jim’s table. He stood up to greet her, and then they hunched across the table toward each other as if they were telling secrets.
You realized you were staring as you spotted a tiny vial of dark liquid in her palm just before she slid it across the way to him under a cupped hand.
“I’ll come back when you’re finished,” Steve said a few other things, but your mind had not retained them. “We can walk over together.”
“Sure,” you said absently. The mysterious woman with Jim got up and left after only a minute or two. Jim downed the rest of his drink, left a tip, and exited out the back, putting his hat on as he went.
A bit later, as you were changing out of your apron in the back room and counting your bills, you wondered where Eddie was and what he was doing.
It made you curse out loud, the persistent way your mind clung to him.
It was irrational and wholly unfair.
You wanted him to pull up in the GTO and tell you to get in without any explanation of why or where you were going.
The customers continued to wane, and Bob told you to skedaddle 20 minutes earlier than you’d expected, so you figured you’d get a head start and meet Steve half way. Erica flipped you off, playfully mocking the fact that you could go home before her. You snuggled down into your winter coat and pushed through the employee door that led to the parking lot at the greeting of a gust of bitingly cold wind. You stopped to pull your gloves out of your pockets and the door that could only be opened from the inside locked shut behind you.
When you looked up, Jareth stepped out of the shadows and loomed there, blocking your path.

Howl at the Moon
Part three
Werewolf Steve x GN Reader
Part one, Part two
We all deserve some super sweet, stressed werewolf Steve fluff after my finals
Steve faced his own reflection in the employee bathroom. He gripped the sink as he breathed deeply, trying desperately to calm himself. It was the first night in a long time Steve had had to work an evening shift on the night of a full moon.
He rubbed his face with his hands, reminding himself that Family Video closed at 7:30, and the sun set at 8. That was more than enough time for Dustin to meet him at his house and make sure he was secured in the basement.
He sighed, but now he had you to worry about.
What if there wasn’t enough time? What if he got loose and found you? What if he hurt you? He grimaced at the thought. That wasn’t an option.
Steve splashed some water on his face. He could do this. Robin was staying late to close up, so he could leave a little earlier if he needed to, he’d be home in plenty of time.
Everything was going to be fine.
“What do you mean you lost him?” Robin whisper-screamed into the phone, her eyes darting around to Keith’s security cameras (which she was hoping were just for show.)
“He’s a giant, brown wolf! How do you lose one of those?” She hissed.
Dustin’s chattering on the other end of the line only made her groan and rub her temples.
“Well what should we do?” She asked, “do we track him down? Could we even get him home if we found him?”
God she wanted to slam the phone into the cradle repeatedly.
“Ok fine fine fine, you’re right. Just give me a second, I need to cancel on Vicky.”
Robin promptly hung up before Dustin could say anything else.
She sighed. Steve was going to be covering any shift she told him to till she graduated.
You hummed along softly as your Walkman blared The Cure. You were taking a walk through the woods by your house, picking flowers and stargazing.
As the tape switched between songs, you heard a soft whining coming from behind you.
You whirled around, only to be met with the sight of the biggest dog you’d ever seen.
You probably should have been intimidated by his imposing size, but he was so…friendly.
When you turned, his tail started to thump loudly on the dirt floor in excitement. His lips seemed to pull up slightly, almost as if he was smiling.
You were charmed, returning his smile with one of your own. You approached him hesitantly, hoping he’d let you pet him, but before you could reach out, he trotted over to nuzzle his head against your hand.
You laughed at his eagerness and scratched behind his ears.
The dog barked happily, obviously pleased with your attention. While you pet his head with one hand, he licked all over the other, forcing you to wipe off his slobber on your jeans several times.
After awhile, you began to wonder if this dog belonged to anyone. You checked around his neck, and smiled a bit when you didn’t find a collar.
“Do you want to come home with me?” You asked, scratching behind his ears once more.
The dog licked your cheek so enthusiastically, you almost toppled over. You’d take that as a yes.
You smiled as you lead him home.
Steve woke up to the familiar, post full moon pounding in his head. He groaned and rubbed his temples.
…
He rubbed his temples?
Steve froze. How could he not be chained to the wall right now.
His eyes darted around an unfamiliar, but cozy, living room as he realized he was most definitely not in his basement.
In fact, he wasn’t even in his house.
Steve panicked. He crept around, trying to find some semblance of an idea of where he’d ended up without waking the owners.
Whose house was this? Had he actually broken into someone’s home while in wolf form?
But everything seemed to be in perfect condition, even the front door! Wouldn’t he have torn everything up? He scratched his head in confusion.
Suddenly he froze.
Right there on the mantle was a picture of you.
He slowly, nervously, made his way over to the mantle. Scratch that, there were tons of pictures of you.
Steve wanted to scream. Somehow, he’d found his way into your home.
His head snapped in the direction of the stairs as he heard some rustling.
Steve knew he had to get out, and fast.
But there was the small problem of…not having any clothes.
In a panic, Steve grabbed a blanket from your sofa, wrapped it around his waist, and snuck out the front door as quickly and quietly as he possibly could.
He hoped a detour to his house wouldn’t make him too late to work. He was already envisioning the earful he’d get from Robin after, what he assumed, had been a pretty big escape last night.
He sighed, being a werewolf sucked.
“So you were just in their house?” Robin cringed, “how’d you even find their house? That’s super weird Steve.”
He rubbed the back of his neck. “I know,” he groaned, “I have no idea how it happened, I told you I can never remember what happens on full moon nights.”
“It’s gotta be a wolf thing,” Robin decided, “you probably sniffed them out or something.”
“Yeah I guess, maybe we should-”
Robin and Steve’s heads both snapped to the front door as the bell jingled, signaling your entrance.
Robin’s eyes widened at the sight of you. She turned to Steve, then turned back to you, then turned to Steve again. “I’ll just uh- take my break then.” She slunk to the back room, but left the door open to hear everything of course.
“Hi,” Steve shivered. Did you see him leaving your house somehow? Did he somehow let you know it was him last night? Did you know what he was?
“Hi,” you replied, a pained smile on your face.
Steve’s gaze softened, “what’s wrong?”
You sighed, pulling posters out of your bag.
“I lost my dog,” you told him.
Steve’s face went white as a bed sheet. “Y-your dog?”
You nodded. “I found him wandering the woods last night and brought him home,” you explained, “I guess I haven’t had him for that long, but he was sooo sweet.”
You showed Steve the picture you’d drawn on the posters of the big, brown dog from last night.
Steve cleared his throat awkwardly. “He looks pretty uh… tough and intimidating.”
You shook your head furiously, “not at all! When I took him home last night, I put a blanket on the sofa for him so he could sleep there because I didn’t want him to shed all over my white bedspread right?”
Steve nodded as you related the tale.
“Well, I guess he wanted to be with me instead, because he sat outside my bedroom door whining! It was sooo cute.”
Steve cringed internally.
“I finally just went downstairs to pet his head until he fell asleep, he’s gotta be the most cuddly dog ever.”
Your smile fell, “I just don’t know why he’d leave.”
Steve felt tremendously guilty.
“Did you want us to hang one of your posters?” He asked.
Your head perked up, “could you?”
Steve nodded, “yeah, yeah of course. I’m uh something of a dog person myself.”
Your bright smile returned, “thank you so much Steve!” You handed him a poster, “it means a lot.”
“It’s really no problem,” he blushed.
Once you were out the door to hang more posters, Steve let out a deep sigh and crumpled to the floor behind the desk.
He felt Robin patting his back, “look on the bright side.”
“What?”
Robin smiled weakly, “at least they think you’re cute.”
Steve groaned.

I came to your blog to ask if you knew any good books with werewolves and then!!! I saw your post about werewolf mommy Steve!!! Anyways I’m under the firm belief that werewolf Steve would ABSOLUTELY be the pack mom and would kill anyone who mistreated his pups
Oh I love that!!! Steve WOULD be the pack mom, he'd always be looking after the pups and rounding them up and would snarl and snap at anyone who comes near them but then Eddie comes along who smells like mate and Steve goes all drippy and wet because he knows he should feel threatened by the other man instead he just wants to bite him and bare his own throat.

sub top puppy steve is such a top tier concept thank you so much for introducing me to it because it lives in the back of my mind. just the idea of big clumsy steve so eager to please and be good—ugh.
(probably) related to this specifically and the whole tag #puppy steve on my blog in general
You're so welcome, it's one of my favorite thoughts, too... I just 😮💨 who doesn't love a needy, pathetic puppy? Panting and sweet and dumb.
Hell yeah, you better believe he's more than strong enough to throw his partner around, but he can't. His dick gets wet, and he turns s-t-u-p-i-d. It feels so good that he whimpers, eyes rolling back, and any smooth movement of his hips turns choppy--more like humping than fucking.
#asks#puppy steve#werewolf steve#they're not the same but... i have very similar thoughts about them lol#steve rogers#stucky
