i’m sure people who are spending £100 on a train journey that will inevitably be delayed or cancelled and £40 on a weekly food shop consisting of 3 items, who are stuck on an NHS waiting lists for years, who are living in tiny, mouldy hellholes that can’t be heated because energy bills are also extortionate, etc. etc. will be exceedingly grateful for this brave and bold move by the government. sooo glad they made this an immediate priority after being decimated in the elections on thursday. and this is right after the government decided that trans people should be treated in separate rooms in hospital because of course that’s affordable and practical for our totally-not-overstretched health service and it won’t be embarrassing and potentially dangerous for anyone involved
