➫ HANNIBAL slammed the butcher knife down onto the chopping block, cutting apart the meat for their breakfast. Hoping that Will would at least appreciate his effort in mending fences, as he had been doing since their tragic end. Which wasn't really an end he had discovered, instead, he and Will had taken off across Europe, leaving the entire world behind. Their relationship hadn't quite been the same, however, and he had been trying his best, whatever he knew, to get into his companion's good graces. For now, that meant cleaning, cooking, laundry, and making sure their rent was paid in cash. He constantly kept them moving, making sure they weren't being followed, and with Will's newly developed taste for blood - SLAM! Hannibal didn't mind it, but he missed the hunt, he missed being out in the world. His face was too recognizable, although he had hoped one day Will might ask him to go out with him, help him in the hunt.

Oh, how he missed it. The crackle of eggs behind him took him away from the knife, he was whipping up a traditional breakfast, as traditional as it gets since they had fresh meat now. Dr. Lecter could settle for this, he supposes, being the butcher to Will Graham's secret shadow. He might have gotten used to the idea, working away, as he had so many mornings before while his friend slept in. When he finally heard the creak of the wood from one bedroom, he knew the other was up, and he could start finishing up and plating the food. "You'll miss breakfast if you stand behind that door too long, Will." Even in their rinky-dink apartment, he could find a way to make eggs and bacon look fancy and ornate on a plate.

Started my Side Order journey. I'm only a few runs in, but I am very impressed at my level of investment — and I knew I was going to be into after the Splatoon 3 base game did what it did!

speaking of mordred, how is her doing? did he recover nicely from the surgery?

yes hes doing great!! hes almost totally back to normal now besides being kinda bald on his legs still. he does get a little irritated when you touch near his bad hip when its too cold or rainy out, but thats totally understandable tbh, my old surgery areas ache then too so i get it.

when its not bad weather though, he loooves to run around and jump and climb :) hes even started playing fetch with us again! hes very happy to be able to play with us and his sister again i think c':

I just realized I have written 304 pages of Batman fanfic. Nearly all of which are fanfic of somebody else's fanfic. God help me, I can't even publish them because I don't know if the other author is cool with people writing fanfic of their fanfic! Normally I'd assume yes, who wouldn't be, but it's OC fic and that can be kind of a touchy subject. I should probably just ask, but god, that's embarassing. no i agree!! i think his hair may look a little thin at times, but overall it's really not THAT bad. it's getting to be on the same level as the unemployment jokes for me. like besties....he HAS a fucking job and is getting paid more than any of us for a fraction of the effort 😭

any random details you have lying around about sparky and lure that you want to talk about?(in that au where they become human)

Oooh, okay, let's see here...

When they first get transformed to kids, for a while, Lure often joins Ingo in his bed to sleep. She feels safer with him which helps her relax enough to sleep. This is partly because when Ingo was a kid, he'd often keep Lure as a Litwick and Lampent with him in his room since he was a little afraid of the dark. Having her with him helped him feel safer.

Sparky loves battling just like Emmet, so even though she can no longer battle as normal, she loves wrestling. She and Lure will wrestle each other when Lure is in the mood, or Sparky will wrestle Emmet (and he does go a bit easy on her, but he will admit that she's stronger than she looks), and she also wrestles her former teammates aka Emmet's other pokemon.

Lure and Sparky do also both have scars from an early attempt at battling. They realized early-ish on that they have some minimal battling abilities (Sparky can use a weaker form of electrical attacks, and Lure can do the same with her fire attacks). So, they try to battle each other with Ingo and Emmet supervising, but they learned a hard lesson that they don't have the durability and pain resistance that they did as pokemon. Lure got an electrical shock to her right hand/arm which left a scar, and Sparky has a burn on her right shoulder. They don't battle anymore, but Lure can light candles and Sparky can give a phone a halfway charge.

Lure can also still sense souls, just a little less strongly now. When Ingo goes missing, she often searches for him by trying to sense his soul. But of course, she can't. She's at least assured that he's still alive, or else she would've sensed his soul elsewhere (the afterlife).

The first time Sparky goes to a pool, she's a little nervous about accidentally electrocuting everyone. But Emmet helps her relax and coaxes her in to joining them all in the water. She trusts him, so she does. Everything is fine and she absolutely loves it. She takes to swimming like an eel to water! Lure, when she had first realized that she needed to bathe shortly after transformed, was nervous about the water since as a dual fire type, she's naturally averse to it. But Ingo helped her calm down enough to take baby steps in the water. Let her start with just using a washcloth, then a bath to just sit/stand in, then up to a full shower.

Both the twins end up homeschooling the girls for a while to make sure they'd be okay going to a normal public school, so they call off from work for a while, just saying they have a "family situation." The whole family's cover story is that the girls are the children of distant family members from another region and that Ingo and Emmet are now the ones taking care of them. Drayden, their dad, helped forge all the necessary paperwork (telling them the whole time how illegal it all is). Iris, their sister, along with Elesa and Skyla, all help in getting the girls more clothes, some books, and toys. When the twins get back to work, they simply tell the coworkers at first that they have some new responsibilities to take care of, so if they leave work for any reason, that's why. Then the depot agents watch as two little girls approach the Subway Bosses and refer to them each as their dads/uncles and the agents start a theories board. When Ingo and Emmet find out about it, they tell them all the cover story. This doesn't stop the agents from wondering where their bosses starters are though.

“Now we’re going to get to know your partner for the semester. Share your names and find a commonality between you! The pair with the most commonalities can get some extra accolades, but not a prize!”

Catra glared at Glimmer, who happily returned it. 

Glimmer, of course, can’t keep her mouth shut for five seconds though (which must be a victory of some kind) and offers, “Well we both hate each other. That’s one.”

That’s the worst part about her, Catra actually thinks she’s kinda funny and that fucking sucks. She worked too hard to earn a reputation as a slacker and class clown (despite being neither) and isn’t going to let this get in her way of being the funny guy. “We both know we’re right and the other is wrong.”

“That’s two!” Glimmer snickers, her glare already softening. “We agree that most people are kinda dumb and we should be in charge, but only if that doesn’t involve too much responsibility.”

“Of course, we’re not animals.” Catra means it as a turn of phrase, but Glimmer puts another finger up showing four. “Neither of us like to apologize, or say thank you.”

Six fingers as Glimmer reluctantly agrees. “We both know exactly what is funny and if our opinions happen to align that’s coincidence. We are both willing to throw down in a mcdonalds at two in the morning.”

“And taco bell.”

“And taco bell,” Glimmer agrees, now showing nine fingers. 

Good, because Catra has to say that while getting into fist fights in parking lots is not actually their hobby, it basically is at this point. Might as well get extra points for it somewhere.

“We are both over twenty years old.”

“Mmm, we grew up in the same hometown. Same schools.” Glimmer switches to a piece of paper and puts 14 tallies down.

“...we both have dead parents?” Catra winces even as she offers it because Glimmer actually liked her dad whereas Catra doesn’t really remember her parents. But another tally gets added so she takes the W.

“We both dated the same girl, and it didn’t work out for basically the same reason.”

Catra snarls but allows the marks to be put down. “We’re gay.”

Glimmer has the world’s most evil smile on as she says, “We are SUPER gay.”

Their teacher waves a hand, calling out to catch everyone’s attention before starting around the room. How many commonalities in each group. Three. Five. Two. Ten. One (a vague like of pecans should not count but whatever).

“And what about you two?”

Glimmer smiles brightly, “Eighteen, and we will take our extra accolades please.”
