Okay that would be indeed morbidly funny! 😅 And next time he sees little bakugou hanging out with izuku, he is like "wait.... if he his still here.... WHO the hell did I order garaki to nomufy???" Meanwhile garaki sits in a corner crying about that he was "forced" to turn his own grandson into a nomu.

But to be more serious now, I think the reason why afo choose tsubasa over bakugou is the fact that bakugou vanishing could be dangerous to his own familys safety. Bakugou was around izuku all the time, there is no way izuku wouldnt try to find him or try to find out what happend to him. Also bakugous parents are pretty rich and have influence (as fashion designers) and would of course immediately call the heros for help if their 4 year old son vanished all of a sudden. In short bakugou vanishing would put to much focus and spotlight on the people around him including izuku. And I think the last thing afo wanted was the police or some hero standing outside his home to ask questions.

Tsubasa on the other side is an way easier target. He is garakis grandson and could vanish without anyone noticing, since garaki is a wellknown man with a great reputation and could just say that his grandkid visits an other school. Garaki also sees the nomus as his "children" and he is messed up enough in the head to turn his own grandchild into a nomu. But who knows maybe tsubasa died in an accident and turning him into a nomu was garakis way to bring his grandson back. But on the other side he also didnt seem upset that stain killed his nomified grandson, so I dont think garaki ever cared about the poor kid.

I really like your idea on em both being rich kids lol, very interesting bc to me personally Billy is actually pretty poor. idk I mean I know we don’t see Tatum’s house or Randy’s either but the fact we never see a single thing about Billy’s sounds odd to me. Vs Tatum who has her own car and Randy with his odd collection of colorful (probably expensive) shoes.

there’s also the fact he’s on his dad’s income only who, from the real brief looks we got at him and the fact he slept with the town’s most likely ‘wellknown’ prostitute if that makes any sense, feels like some sleazy, struggling lawyer type.

I know in lore or whatever (wiki page lol) his dad is described as a powerful Woodsboro lawyer but considering this is the same lore that has Billy getting someone pregnant and can’t even decide the ages of the main cast I’m looking at in-movie evidence instead.

the only thing that kinda tips it to him being richer imo is the mobile phone he drops, or more precisely his dad’s phone - but even then it’s again his dad’s and not his own one. his dad who likely would need it as a work expense, but can’t afford to buy his son one and doesn’t care to.

anyway that’s my entire crackpot theory (I have even more but I wanted to spare your ask box from this already long thing) just to say that I really like your take on him being richer too

Hey thanks! My own personal theory dump below:

I've seen a lot of takes with poorer Billy. Tbh I think based on what we see in the movie it can go either way, we just don't really have the info. Also, not to nitpick, but we do see Tatums house, that's where Sid sleeps over after Billy gets arrested and there's also a breakfast scene there in the morning.

To me, Randy is actually probably the least wealthy member of the group, he's the only one that we know has a job, and the shoe brands (mostly hush puppies) he's wearing mostly wouldn't have been super expensive.

In my opinion we don't see much of Billy's home life because we don't see much of the real Billy at all until the reveal at the end. We only see as much of Stu's as we do because the finale takes place in his house, and imo more of Billy's home life would have made him more obvious. I have to imagine his room is full of horror merch lmao.

Honestly I don't really read Hank the same way as you do though. Maureen isn't a prostitute (not that theres anything wrong with sex work), she's a housewife with an extremely wealthy husband (aside from Stu's house Sid's seems like the biggest), so I don't really feel like the affair says anything about relative wealth.

In terms of the lore, tbh I don't actually think it's totally out of character for Billy to get a random girl pregnant. I chose not to do this in Debaser because I've decided to not make Sam canon in my own work, but I could totally see him deciding he needed to "practice" with some girl before Sid. I think he probably hooked up with her at a party, had a mediocre time, and never spoke to her again because he's an asshole. Not at all joking this seems fully in character for me.

My personal hc is that Nancy was a housewife, so Hank would have been carrying the family on a single income anyways. Even if we assume that she was working before and they lost that income, then they would have only been on a lower income for a little over a year, so I don't really see that as the makings of a poor Billy.

Also, we know from scream 2 that Nancy had enough money to get major plastic surgeries (enough that she was unrecognizable to Sid) and also paid for Mickey's tuition, so that's going to be hundreds of thousands of dollars. On top of that she's not working during the events of scream 2, she's doing the fake reporter thing. Based on that Nancy Loomis is either a rich girl by birth, someone who had an extremely high paying job before, or she got a lot of money in the divorce, which would require Hank to have had a lot of money to give.

In terms of the cell phone thing- cells weren't super common for teens to have in the 90's, as far as I can tell one of the first movies that shows teens having cell phones is clueless, which came out in 1995, so it doesn't necessarily say much to me that Billy doesn't have his own in the movie.

In terms of Hank, when we see him he's wearing a nice suit, it's up to date with trends in 96', meaning he's got enough money to be staying up to date with his wardrobe and suits aren't cheap. Other wardrobe hints include Billy's white shirt being Calvin Klein, not a cheap brand for a plain white shirt. If Billy is less wealthy he's more likely to be wearing Hanes. At the very least I, a relatively poor person, am buying the cheapest white shirts I can. I get that shit in a five pack from walmart, I don't have the expendable income to spend over 50$ for a single shirt.

All of this is to say that at least for me it doesn't make a lot of sense for Billy to be poor, especially with what we know about his mom in movie 2. But thats not why I chose to make him rich.

Why Sharp chose to make Billy a rich kid:

So i've seen a number of takes where Billy is poor and Hank is extremely abusive, and that was something I wanted to avoid. In some cases this can feel to me like the poverty and physical abuse is meant to explain his behaviour and that feels a little oversimplified. I specifically chose to make Hank neglectful, judgmental and argumentative (emotionally abusive) but not physically abusive. It doesn't always take more than that to fuck someone up, and I also wanted Billy's rage to come from somewhere else, to be a little less obviously justified. His life isn't easy, but he still has privilege.

In terms of the wealth issue, Billy's character reads more as an entitled rich kid to me. He's out of touch with the emotional stakes of the things he's doing and beyond that he's got the time and energy to plan and carry out a murder spree like this.

I personally chose to write Billy as someone who doesn't experience a lot of consequences for his actions because his dad can pay them away, which he does because Billy has an effect on his professional image as a lawyer. This was particularly important for my trans Billy storyline, because the money would be necessary both to access black market hormones (would have been near impossible to get them prescribed at the time) and also because Hank would have needed to bribe the cops and the hospital to keep quiet so Billy wouldn't be outed.

Aside from that though I just think the rich boy no consequences thing plays well into how unafraid he is about what he's doing and how casually he does it. All of this is just my take though! There are lots of ways to read the movie and I made character choices about him so that they fit into the narrative I'm crafting, doesn't need to work for anyone else.

I'm going to say it's tied between Blood Runs Thicker (The Hobbit) since it ends with Bilbo completely abandoning a Dwarven-given identity under the pretense that he was never loved and has to move on - and then a time when I'm without you (WangXian / MDZS), where Lan Wangji must deal with the fact that Wei Wuxian is actually dead and there's nothing he can do but grieve alone.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? My happiest ending for a story is probablyyyy where's my angel (Mystic Messenger) or The Seventh Wonder (WangXian / MDZS). Granted if this was my Tumblr fics, there'd be WAY more fluff to pick from - my favorite being Fragile Duetto (Mystic Messenger).

8. Do you get hate on fics? Not really. If I do, any hate is on my old Hobbit fics which were basically abandoned after a serious bout of online bullying back when I was 14. It was a good time lol. I don't really go back to those fics.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Not often, and certainly only on special occasion. Any M-rated smut has never been published, though - and I certainly didn't put any on AO3. Only degenerate papapapapapa stuff here on the hellhole Tumblr platform uwu

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? Oh absolutely! I started off fanfiction as a crossover writer on FFnet. My first fic was a very tame How to Train Your Dragon x Rise of the Guardians that got really popular. Since then tho, I think my craziest xover was a Mystic Messenger x Style Savvy crossover? The 2 universes together just make so much sense tho in my head lol.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of rofl I'm neither that good or that wellknown - although I wouldn't be surprised if any of my abandoned stuff got stolen.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Again, not that I've known of.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Back in the old days on FFnet, I co-wrote a couple Hobbit stories, and a How to Train Your Dragon x Percy Jackson story. Idk what happened to them, they're in the abyss somewhere.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship? All time favorite ship? Objectively WangXian (Wei Wuxian / Lan Wangji). Subjectively? Bagginshield. I just go back to them when I'm depressed - they are a comfort ship for sure.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? As I am retired from fanfic writing, I doubt a lot of my fics will ever actually get finished. But Noise of Rain (Sesskag) is a story I dream of finishing - it's my female rage, villain arc redemption, true anti-hero love child. Maybe one day I'll come back to it.

16. What are your writing strengths? Long ago, I'd say exposition. Now it's definitely transformed into vignette romanticism, and dialogue (this has come from my recent influx of script writing though).

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Actually sitting down and writing. It's such a slow process for me and my brain runs too fast sometimes to be able to write something out coherently or the way I want to.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Oh I absolutely adore it! It's a very fantasy trope to have different languages actually written in a story, but I'm HERE for it. I didn't take two years of linguistics to not include bits and pieces in a story.

19. First fandom you wrote for? As I mentioned earlier, it was for How to Train Your Dragon x Rise of the Guardians.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Oh I ABSOLUTELY have a favorite child. It's not popular (or finished, RIP), but I love it most by far - Shattered Euphony (ReZhong / Genshin Impact). I consider it one of my greatest works, both in original and fanfic writing. One day I will finish it.

Senritsus Siblings: As they are occiasionally mentioned on the blog and may be plot-devices for theards, here is a list of Senritsus siblings and what they are doing in their life. They all share the fact that they are very independent, music-loving people who can not be still at one place for long. Except one. There is great love between them, but it is never put before their own passions. Kotone is six years older than Senritsu and the first child of their parents. When she was eighteen, Kotone left the Traveling People to join a traveling orchestra. An action that catapulted her carrier as a Musician into the metaphorical orbit as only two years later she turned out to be a lot of more wanted as a solo-musician playing the harph. That was also when she met the member of the Mafia who would become her Benefactor. A very jealouse Benefactor that keeps Kotone as a member of his staff. Kotone is known as a great Musician who travels from preformance and preformance and avoids staying long in one place. Senritsu keeps track of where her sister is giving preformances and if she can not visit the concert due to distance, she usually watches the concert online. She even met her shortly when both were already working for the Mafia. However, Kotone did not recognized her and Senritsu would not change that. Senritsu is aware of Kotones situation since meeting her again, but she also knows Kotone would beat her up if she would offer help.

Uta is eleven months older than Senritsu and five years younger than Kotone. Uta is Senritsus irish twin as in a sibling that had been born less than twelve months appart from another sibling, so accordingly the two of them grew up very close- they shared a crib, they shared a childrens bed, they shared their toys, they learned to crawl and walk leaning on eachother and most of the time when one was around the other was close. Uta would leave the Traveling-People when she turned fifteen to start a apprenticeship as a music-instrument Builder, unknowingly just as Senritsus did (as an afternoon education sponsored by the Music-Consortium she was studying at). Uta went on three years of Tippelei (Just as Senritsu did after passing the Hunterexam), earned her Master title(Just like Senritsu again) and then settled down to open a shop as an instrument builder (Very much not like Senritsu). Her house is where Senritsu had placed her Homecode and usually all letters to Senritsu wil end up at her place. Uta is also the only one of the siblings who married (Her wife Nana) and who, in the Blogs timeline, recently adopted twingirls to whom Senritsu is the godmother to. Uta had not seen Senritsu since she had been eighteen and visited her after passing the Hunter-Exam, but they are in regular email-contact. None of the siblings can figure out why Uta is so different from them. Fuu and her twin Fumi are two years younger than Senritsu and eight years younger than Kotone. When Fumi was fifteen she met her best friend in a Punk-rock-band at a campsite and instead of continueing traveling with her Mother, she continued traveling with the band and Fuu came along. Fumi is the bands songwriter and singer, while Fuu plays guitar. The band is not especially wellknown, nothing compared to Kotones fame, but they are well liked and while not rich they can get by good enough to travel between the preformances, without getting desperate to reach the next gig. Not often at least. Fumi is kown to name her songs after her siblings, especially naming more wistful songs after Kotone and Senritsu to whom she has barely any contact to. However Fuu and Fumi and Uta are close and usually the twins will visit her whenever they are somwhere near to Utas workshop. Senritsu keeps track of where her sisters band is giving preformances and if she can not visit the concert due to distance, she usually watches the consert online even if that means she has to sit at five o clock in the morning before her mobile phone with earbuds. Hayato is six years younger than Senritsu and twelve years younger than Kotone. He is the only boy of the pack. Hayato was six when their father was executed and suddenly faced the fact that not only Kotone had left but Senritsu soon left afterwards and barely two years later Uta also left. Senritsu sended him, her mother and sister letters until she was twenthy one, when all letter stopped. Accordingly it is easy to figure out why Hayato started a apprenticeship under Uta, as he desperately wanted to not feel left behind by his family-members. He had ben three years on the Tippelei, but had not yet started his Masterpiece and instead prefer to work as a fellow guild member under his sister Uta.
