WIP excerpt behind the cut: YJ accidental baby acquisition. (( chrono || non-chrono ))

“Genetically, Kenley is our offspring,” Tim cuts in quickly, keeping his voice as even as possible. “The DNA test was clear. And they’re a child. They can’t just stay at the Tower or on the Watchtower.” 

“Impulse is technically seven, and Superboy is–what, five?” Barry says, looking exasperated. Kon’s still a few months away from four, actually, given the whole “was dead for a year” thing and some other weird shit that’s happened in their lives–they actually did the math pretty recently, but the fact that they had to do the math at all is very obviously a sign of weird shit happening in their lives, and either way, Tim won’t be correcting Barry’s math right now. “And you and Wonder Girl are what–seventeen?” 

Speaking of people who were dead for a while and lost track of shit . . . 

“I’m nineteen,” Cassie says, narrowing her eyes at Barry. “And Robin’s eighteen. No ‘technically’ about it.” 

“Physiologically and mentally, Impulse is seventeen and Superboy is nineteen,” Tim informs them shortly before anyone can try and make the technicalities an issue. “It’s unreasonable to treat them as capable of risking their lives as active superheroes after they’ve both already died in the line of duty but then claim they’re not capable of basic childcare when you think it’s inconvenient for them to be allowed to.” 

“Also you’re not allowing anything,” Bart says with a frown. “Kenley’s ours. Genetically and, like, ‘found and saved’-ly.” 

“Bart, you have no idea how difficult taking care of even a normal kid is. Assuming the kid’s safe, an actual foster situation is going to be necessary,” Barry says in exasperation, sounding weary, and Wally looks a little stressed too, which is not good. Wally’s the best chance they have to get the League at large not to be unreasonable about this–at least as long as Dick’s here, anyway–but he and Bart have never really seen eye to eye and he’s never really understood him or taken him seriously, so . . . 

Also, Wally’s the one who has the most experience with having superpowered kids in this conversation, and with nearly losing said kids. If anyone’s going to be the one they can get on their side, well– 

Technically, Tim is perfectly aware of Jon Kent’s existence and the fact that he has superpowers and was also temporarily “lost”. He’s equally aware of both Otho and Osul’s existences and past traumas and own powers. 

He is even more aware of the fact that Clark apparently didn’t know about Lophi and Martha and has never fucking once trusted Kon to be responsible for anything but a dog who was already invulnerable and indestructible and that he just personally happened to need a long-term petsitter for. Which might be unfair, a little, but is also objective fact. 

So yes, Wally is definitely their best shot here. Especially with Dick hopefully willing to back them up, if it comes to it. If he weighs in too quickly, Bruce will think he’s either biased or being too emotional, but if they can at least start to convince Wally and maybe Diana . . . 

“What do you expect us to do, just dump ‘em on Max Mercury or Red Tornado? Go see who’s the Spectre right now?” Cassie demands, folding her arms. “Go dig up Cadmus wherever they’re currently buried, see if they’re hiring kindergartners? Hey, I know, ship ‘em off to Hawaii with a sleazy–!” 

“Kenley doesn’t need fostered,” Tim cuts in quickly, because that line of conversation is not ending well no matter what. “We’re their biological parents, and we’re capable of taking care of them to an appropriate standard.” 

“That isn’t an acceptable decision for Young Justice to make without input,” Bruce says. 

“What is this, a superhero-CPS visit?!” Cassie snaps, clenching her fists. “Based on what, exactly? They’re ours! What’s not ‘acceptable’ is for the Justice League to decide you all get to make decisions about our fucking kid!” 

“Also, like, super hypocritical, I’m pretty sure,” Bart says. “Nobody interferes with what any of you guys do with your kids.” 

“None of us just kidnapped a kid straight out of a lab, Impulse!” Barry says in exasperation. 

“That’d be way too, like, actively proactive, yeah,” Bart agrees, and for just an instant vibrates in a very telling way. His expression doesn’t change, but he’s obviously angry. Very obviously angry. 

Maybe not obviously to Barry, though, Tim realizes almost immediately. 

“Being patient enough to show restraint isn’t a character flaw, kid,” Barry says, still clearly exasperated. 

“You’re being a sprocking nass about this,” Bart says, still staring at him with the same blank expression. “And also a fucking asshole.” 

Well, this is going well. 

“We’re just concerned about everyone’s safety, including the child’s,” Clark says, lifting a placating hand. Bart scowls, and Cassie bristles. Kon–doesn’t look away from Kenley. 

Tim just doesn’t feel particularly “placated”, put it that way.

Hey cassie, @cassandraclare , i’ve read your answer and started thinking about Julian’s response to trauma, which you said “is pretty intense” and i totally agree. So i want to ask you your own canonical opinion about it, or what you were thinking about while writing about Julian’s mental situation: do you think or made it canon in your head that he had Depression? I’ve been reading TDA while i was dealing with my own Depression, in its early stages, and started relating a lot, but my own opinion might me extremely biased, because Julian is a comfort character and we share some traumas, so that’s why i want to know your opinion about it.

I know you maybe want to avoid giving diagnosis because we are no one to tell, and i completely understand this, eventually, so i am just curious about your own thoughts while writing. Maybe you were thinking about Depression while writing about it even if you didn’t make it canon. Or maybe you were thinking about something else or only some symptoms or nothing at all☺️ that’s just out of curiosity and emotional relating. Anyway his “sadness” didn’t look a “normal troubled and traumatised teenager sadness” to me, considering insomnia and irrational guilt and despair and many other things (since Lady Midnight). But, again, i might be extremely biased.

(Anyway his anedonia in QOAAD, when he gets his emotions taken off was definitely coded and i extremely loved the depiction. But we can’t definitely call that “Depression” given the “magical reason”)

I think one of the interesting things about Julian is that while many characters often suffer in this kind of adventure/fantasy book, few wear their damage as visibly as he does, especially male characters.

When I wrote Jules, I was thinking about PTSD. And those things you list — insomnia and irrational guilt and despair — are symptoms of PTSD. But depression is also a symptom of PTSD. It sounds like you know a good amount about mental health, so when I say that when you look at something like depression, you're often looking at "Is this depression the symptom of some condition or root cause" I think you'd agree. So while I often feel a bit weird making clinical psychological diagnosis of my characters in a way that might exclude anyone who relates to that character, I would say Julian suffers from depressive symptoms brought on by PTSD. If that makes him a comfort character, that is great, and there is really no way to be wrong about relating to a character!

While I could respond to this in a snarky manner, I think I'd prefer to assume that you're just having trouble finding good fics! That's okay, it happens to the best of us. Thunderbolts*

This was exactly what I wanted, which feels weird, but I'll take it!

It had heart, humor (and not the usual quippy MCU kind). It had something to say, and something pretty meaningful at that. It dealt with mental health in a way even the more stereotypical nerdbros might like.

Also a different kind of final fight than your typical MCU movie.

For those worrying about how Bucky's treated: not to fret! While it's not his movie, Yelena's definitely the lead, he is the wiser, respected(!) leader. This movie also finally agrees with how fans interpret Bucky and what happened to him, IMO.

I feel like he should have gotten a bit more attention, especially considering the topic, but then I'm biased. There was one moment especially when he mentions his past where I was like, 'show, don't tell, people'.

Definitely stay for both post-credit scenes, which shouldn't be a problem because the main credits look pretty cool. The 2nd post-credit scene is where I have some questions though, no doubt intentional on Marvel's part. But I'll put that behind a cut.

The 2nd post-credit scene is funny and confirms we need more of this team. But apparently Sam Wilson disagrees?

Why?! I know it's because Doomsday is coming and that means Battleworld and they need to be at each other's throats before they can team up. But I would like an in universe explanation as well.

Because unless we get more info, Sam just seems petty which wouldn't fit what we know of him. Obviously we did just see this team form and we don't know who's on his, but the copyright thing? I like Bucky, and this team, and this movie (more than Joaquin or Brave New World), so I'm probably biased, but I don't see why Sam would be so against it.

I'm sure the SamBucky shippers will get some great fic out of this. But I am disappointed to be right: back when FATWS aired and the ship got so much attention, I knew they'd 'break them up' somehow.

Anyway, I really hope this team has a future and they don't all die in the big 2-parter.

my take on nosferatu (2024) as someone who loves silent movies, 19th century history, and gothic horror-- a highly informal and adhd-fuelled review

i finally got around to watching nosferatu in theatres the other day, and needless to say i was VERY excited. i have many many MANY thoughts on this movie, so here's a bit of verbal vomiting as to what i thought about it! all of my thoughts surrounding major spoilers will be under the cut

so overall, WOWWOWOWOWOW. i think the original movie has ABSOLITELY been done justice. while there is something that bothers me about this adaptation (which i'll get to later), this movie was easily a 5/5 for me.

the main thing that made me love this movie is the AESTHETIC. this movie is absolutely STUNNING. the colours and sets make this movie so immersive and i swear to god i was SALIVATING over the 19th century gothic aesthetic. like if you look inside my brain it probably looks like this

now i am fucking insufferable when it comes to historical accuracy with 19th century costumes, but clearly the people involved with this movie DID THEIR RESEARCH. the silhouettes were right, the hair was perfect, the attention to detail was amazing, and what shocked me the most was the accuracy of the undergarments, especially the corset and split drawers! there were only a couple very minor errors, which i think can be forgiven considering how generally accurate the costumes were.

these genuinely make me want to sew an 1830s outfit :') but anyways yeah the costumes made the movie even more immersive.

i love how ellen was portrayed, too. i'm very likely projecting because i've loved her character for a while now, but i thought that her relationship with count orlok was a great metaphor for mental illness. her recurring visions/trances really reminded me of the recurring nature of illnesses like depression and anxiety and how inescapable it feels. her line about not feeling human was a huge mood too, and yeah as someone who's neurodivergent i could definitely see myself in her. but again, maybe i'm projecting because i think she's a great character and i dressed as her for halloween in 2019 (which, weirdly enough, is exactly when i first started having significant issues with my mental health. is this some sort of omen should i be concerned)

in spite of this, though, my favourite character wasn't even ellen-- it was professor von franz, played by the national treasure that is willem dafoe. i very well could be biased because i knew beforehand that willem loved being on set with the rats, but i thought that von franz was such a sweet character, especially with all of his cats and having cat treats in his pocket <33 (now that i think about it, that in itself is a DAMN GOOD metaphor too)

but here's the major issue i had with the movie-- count orlok himself. yes, i am another moustache hater. while i can appreciate that robert eggers wanted orlok to be more of a folk vampire by being an old romanian count, to me the vampire just wasn't count orlok. maybe i'm too attached to the original movie, but in my eyes nosferatu is a tall, lanky, ratty looking gremlin, and the more monstrous, corpse-like orlok in 2024 just isn’t nosferatu to me. while his grotesque look definitely made the movie more visceral and disturbing, i really wish he had looked more like all of the other nosferatu adaptations. having said that, though, it was definitely interesting to see a folk vampire in a movie rather than the typical byronic vampire!

anyways i have one last thing to talk about which is very spoilery so i'll put my summary here. overall this movie was just as disturbing as i had hoped, and though some parts DEFINITELY grossed me out i think it really did the original justice. this movie is absolutely not for everyone because it's undoubtedly WEIRD, but i think that if you can handle disturbing content and love gothic horror or 19th century history and aesthetics then you'd love this! i think this adaptation would have made f.w. murnau proud.

so yeah aside from being for the gothic horror bitches and the art hoes this movie was VERY MUCH for the monster fuckers. now i love me a good byronic vampire and it would be SUCH A SHAME if one bit me, but as someone who isn't a monster fucker this nosferatu made me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE-- not in a way that made me dislike the movie, but sometimes i was like. I've been watching BV 4 recently and wanted your insights on Tae and taekook in this season. Tae seemed really sad and disconnected to me and tk barely interacted or made efforts to hang out with each other.

While members chose group activities, Tae chose to explore the city alone. BV is a time for them to spend time together as a group and enjoy but i sensed a weird block from Tae's end. He was there physically but not really mentally there if that makes sense. Especially important since they started the season saying they hadn't met or spoken to each other in some time.

Jimin is an empath and hence we saw him really taking efforts including Tae in activities and taking care of him. Other members just let him be.

This season was late 2019, was this a period when Tae wasn't doing well? Did you get the feeling that he was disconnected from the group? Till when did this continue and was this observed in other content as well?

Similarly in context to Tk, do you agree that they do seem distant. And doesn't it give some credence or probability to the timeline or story of them having drifted apart as friends?

As a Tae biased army it does make me a bit sad seeing Tae in this season. Would really appreciate some insights on how you or older Army's perceived this.

Edit after finishing rewatching all episodes: Aside from me being in a rewatch kinda vibe the last month or so, I could not for the life of me recall feeling the way you (anon) did about this BV series. It was some time ago that I watched this in full, and I started to wonder if my recollection about Tae was perhaps flawed. But after rewatching, I still don't see Tae disconnected and sad. I haven't once seen this sort of vibe "Jimin is an empath and hence we saw him really taking efforts including Tae in activities and taking care of him. Other members just let him be." I paid attention to Tae and Jk ofcourse, and while I agree this is a very low Tkky series, I do not feel that they were avoidant or awkward. I saw them together in the background of things. They looked at each other with smiles and love all throughout, they went to walk, sit, stand next to each other often. As a Tkkr, this is what I feel was still going on in 2019: I don't believe in the narrative that Tae and Jk grew apart. It makes no sense to me in a wider context and I feel there is plenty to point at that not being true. It's ofcourse possible they had rocky times and therefore had moment that they seemed off, but I don't think they were ever distant for as long as the general narrative would have people believe. I believe BH made an effort to make it seem like Tae and Jk weren't something special, but rather just bandmembers.. and not the closest ones for that sake. You'l find special interactions or outings with many pairs, but never Tae and Jk. they are mostly together with other members present. I believe that was a conscious choice, and probably a definite plan that was come up with when Bh realized Tae and Jk were a couple. When you don't believe Tae and Jk are together, tis is not something you consider to be possible. I think for outsiders, nothing weird will be found during this BV series. As Tkkrs however, we are missing the physical closeness we know Tae and Jk had (even during 2019). For example, this was them in august and october (before and after BV was fimed).

So what we know about Tae and Jk, does not fully come out during this BV.. and I think that was an editing choice, but also Tae and JK and the members knowing what the deal is and that they just can't be Taekook for a few days.

About Tae's mental health.. it's hard to say exactly when he was going through the worst period.. or if it perhaps was fluctuating in intensity. I don't think from this footage we can say that he was feeling down. It's not how I see it anyways. But, people with mental health problems very often know how to mask very well, so it is ofcourse a possibility that that's what he was doing. I think it likely that Jk's scandal effected them during this trip. Jk felt the need to appologize, and whether that was something hé felt he needed to do, or something that he was told to do.. it's obvious the issue was something they dealt with while in NZ. I think it would have bothered both Tae and JK.

Anyways.. it's interesting how different people can have such different views on the same footage 😂

Warning… this is long. Your ask prompted me to rewatch, and I did a little note-taking while watching the episodes. At this point I have only rewatched 5 episodes, I wanted to post this today because it’s loooooooong and I kinda said I would. I’m gonna watch the other episodes the next couple of days and edit this post when I have finished. This is going to be my opinion on footage that was taken while I wasn’t in fandom yet. So I’m unable to talk with the point of view of someone who went through this realtime. Feel absolutely free to comment or send asks with additions.

So, they spent 6 days in New Zealand right? What we got to see was only a couple of hours of their time there. Yoongi said that 80 percent of film is edited out.. that is no joke, that is actually true. On top of that, the stuff that is chosen to be in the released footage, is the exciting/interesting stuff... while we might see some clips of members just hanging around (because the message is supposed to be that they're relaxing.. while this is still work for them on a certain level... you can't actually relax when there's a film crew around).. they're not going to show boring stuff (or stuff we're not meant to see). Tae and Jk are pretty lowkey and aside from my believe in their relationship being hidden, I also think their moments are not deemed interesting enough at times. Their vibe is different from Jk and Jm's bolsterous interactions, it's different from Jm and Tae's cute supporting vibe. Jm is an extrovert, very clearly so... and extroversion is often deemed fun to watch. While Tae has been described as an extrovert at times... I also think he has a strong introverted tendency (and he turned out to be an infp while taking the test) so Tae and Jk together are just a lowkey couple. To add to this further, Jm is an empath, but so is Jk. Their differences in extroversion is why the way it's practiced is also different.

Now.. more specifically about BV4. For context.. Tae did seem to have mental issues during 2019/20... and during this BV Jk went through the tattoo artist 'scandal'. Mental health issues are a tricky thing... because we're not always able to tell from the outside what someone is going through on the inside. So take into consideration that we’re possibly not even able to understand the actual state of Tae’s mental health fully from the little bit of footage we’re given… same goes for any member really.

To start with the "not having seen each other debate that popps up a lot". I think this is blown up way out of proportion (probably thanks to Jkkrs pushing it as a debunk). I'm not really aware of what both of them were doing around this time. They had a month off, which isn't that long if you also go traveling. Anyways, it's possible they needed time apart.. I can imagine things being tough from time to time, so maybe this was intentional. Maybe they just had different plans... Tae traveled a lot with friends and family, and maybe Jk just wasn't into that? Maybe Jk's perception of time was off and it was less long than he thought since he'd seen Tae. Maybe it's a members and Tae situation. Maybe he's very aware of not being able to mention Tae as flippantly as he does other members. Maybe they were off atm (though it doesn't seem like it to me). All sorts of possibilities, but I doubt they weren't in contact at all. Being apart while knowing that in a bit you'll be spending plenty of time together again is pretty doable for most people. You'll never see Jk and Tae act like a couple in content for real, they know they can't do that on camera. BV, ITS, Run, Interviews... it's all work and they will always behave according to that.

In general I think there's nothing weird about their interactions, but rather that it feels something is missing. We know Jk and Tae are touchy and they hang off and on eacch other.. we don't get that here. On top of that.. when we do see them together it's mostly them with other members around, while other members do go of as pairs. It's almost as if Tae and Jk need chapperonnes 😂.

I'll get into the episode after the cut.. otherwise everyone will just be annoyed by how long this is.

Episode one is basically them travelling. It's rather uneventfull. A lot of sleeping and Tae wasn't feeling great for a bit. I'd say every Jk/Tae interaction was pretty normal. I don't feel Tae was off during this ep and we get Jk and Tae interactions a few times with them seeming completely normal to me.

Episode 2 starts with Tae and Jk in front seats of the campervan and then next to each other in the restaurant. Seems normal to me. We see some traveling, some shopping... Jk talking to sheep... Tae happily learning the Chicken Noodle soup dance. Tae and Jk together might not be the main focus, but they can be found close to each other often enough. Jk goes off on his own in the morning, when he gets that chunk of snow. I tend to think he wanted some time alone, since he didn't even wait for a camera to join him... Tae asking him if he's alright I interpret as him checking if Jk is mentally okay. People need space sometimes, that doesn't mean they have issues with the group they're with.. but rather that they need time to just be without having to consider other's feelings and wishes for a bit.

In episode 3 they start with a hike, and Tae does wander off a bit.. but I don’t feel it’s because he wants to be alone.. but rather to see where the path leads them. When Jk approaches the table where Tae, Hobi and Jin are eating he doesn’t hesitate to touch Tae’s back. There’s more driving and shopping. Jk takes Tae’s pic at a reststop. They eat, shop and drive again. Jk takes pics if Tae again and they laugh together like normal. Hobi, Tae, Jm and Jk practice the Chicken Noodle soup dance again. I feel Tae is participating enthusiastically in everything they do. He comes up with ideas, he laughs freely, he interacts with the others naturally. Tae and Jk keep bot being the main focus, yet they do continue to find each other all throughout. We see them standing close, touching, laughing, walking together. I feel there’s no avoidance or weirdness from their side.

Episode 4 kicks of at the accomodation they're staying at. When Yoongi prepares their food Tae gets Jm, Jin, and Jk to participate into a joke-ish skit thingy.. Jk smiles at Tae adoringly. After dinner we do get Tae taking a walk in the dark alone. At that point though, you see several members taking a moment for themselves. I don't feel Tae was particularly sad. Pensive maybe? I think it's too short a clip to tell. The next day has them shopping again, and we get headband Tae and Jk (my weakness 🥰). Tae and Jk do the Chicken noodle soup dance with Hobi at the lake, after which Tae and Jk review the footage closely together. They go hiking as a group and Tae and Jk are closeby nearly all throughout. Tae asks Jk to stop because he wants to take his picture. More hiking. The episode ends with a chaotic preparation of their camping site. Again, I don't feel that Tae is particularly sad or distancing himself. They all take moments of solitude, which is pretty normal to me during a group vacation.

I'm now at episode 5 and I have not yet felt that at one point Jm was the reason for Tae to partake in group dynamics, but rather I feel Tae was enjoying himself. He takes initiative, goes to help when he can, is funny inbetween, has no trouble taking on stuff like driving, interacts with all of them.

During their dinner preparations and meal at the campsite Tae was very much taking a backseat. It didn't seem like him having a hard time to me though, I tend to think he was just tired. Preparing dinner isn't his thing, so the camera wasn't on him much because of that too. Dinnertime is often Yoongi and Jin's time to shine. Tae leaves to go to sleep without announcing it, and yes I think he was done for the day. I don't think it has anything to do with Jk or the members, but they had a tiring day with hiking, Tae drove for hours, and anyone will get sleepy in front of a campfire. It is possible that he felt sad ofcourse, but I don't feel that particularly showed in this footage. Jk was the one to ask where Tae was, he also took a quick peak to watch him sleep. They wake up in the morning and Tae does seem a bit subdued to me... but in all honestly, so does everyone else. When they leave the hottubs we see Tae wearing one glove.. just like Jk. During the drive Tae seems fine and happily participates in the singing. Tae chooses to do the swing while he could've easily passed.. he was even the one to try and persuade Jm. Tae enjoys it so much that he himself asks to do the catapult as well. Whe don't really see Tae and Jk's reactions to each other's jumps. When deciding who goes shopping for groceries.. I could swear I see Tae and Jk share a glance (but that's also possibly just me). Tae and Jk go shopping for groceries with Namjoon and Yoongi, Tae once again wears one glove on his hands. All seems well and we later find out Jk bought Tae a jacket.

In episode 6 Episode when returning to the camp site, Tae immediately tells Jm about the jacket he got from Jk. Tae is helping out at the camp site quite a bit. Tae is the one who asks Jm to come horseriding the next day. He also super cutely asks to hold Namjoon when they sleep. The next day they go on the helicopter flight and Tae is so happy to land at the snow. Jk is making a snowman. Vmin are the cutest. Namjoon and Jk trying to sled are hilarious. After that Jm and Tae spend some time together horseriding/cycling, but at no point do I feel it’s Jm trying to involve Tae.. I rather feel Tae is enthusiastic just because of himself. There’s really little Jk and Tae interaction in this episode. Jk was basically with Hyungline the whole time, while Vmin had a lot of moments. Only in the story untold do we get a bit of Tkk interaction when Tae gives Jk sunscreen.

Episode 7 starts with members arriving at the last place of their stay. Tae isn’t feeling well (carsick). Jm and Tae end up rooming, and Jk ends up with Namjoon. We see Jk sitting with Tae while he’s lying at the couch in the background. We see Jm massaging Tae who’s still not feeling well. Tae does go and watch when Jk prepares the fish. After dinner they play uno and Tae and Jk are next to each other. They interact normally I’d say, though they are mostly busy with the game. Jk has no problem leaning into Tae to help him decide which cards to play. For some reason we suddenly see Jk in the other side of the table. Tae seems to be in good spirits to me. Jk very confidently states that he���s the one sharing a room with Tae, which isn’t the case. Jk returns to sit with Tae after the game. Tae has to wake everyone up and hangs over Jk’s sleeping body for a while. So many headbands 🥰. Tae again is the one to ask Jm to ride the cable ride together. Tae and Jk ride to the top separately, which is a bit odd to me since they were the last two to go up. Later in the car Tae easily mentions Jk’s snoring and goes to describe it. Tae is a bit late to lunch, but in the Story Untold we learn he told them to start eating because he would take a while. We get to the part where Tae wanders through the city alone while the others chose to go on group activities. I think it’s important to point out that this is the only time that has happened during this trip and that I feel he was pretty involved with the others the whole time. You can’t really say Tae went out on his own, because he’s with a camera man. He looks in good spirits to me, so possibly he just really wanted to enjoy the city while the others went for more action. Doing things alone when you’re on a group outing can be very important because having to be social constantly can be draining. In the Story Untold we learn that Tae has muscle ache (from horse riding), so possibly that’s why he wanted to go to the city instead of doing something active.

Episode 8 starts with where we left off in episode 7. Tae is walking around town, having a burger and icecream. Jk is at the new fishing spot with Yoongi and Jin. Tae is home first and is super funny (to me at least) by hiding from Namjoon, Hobi and Jm when they return. At this point Tae is very clear about not going with the other's because his butt hurt 😂. Tae helps Hobi and Jm with dinner preparations and joins in normally and happily imo. They do funny skits. Jk walks in when Jm and Tae do a scene... considers what he's seeing for a few seconds.. and decides it's nothing new 😂. Jk tries to but in wiht the cooking, which neither Tae and Jm want him to do and they send him away. Tae: "I got rid of the intruder" 😂. Later on Jk helps Tae get the rice.. again nothing weird about it. They have a very happy dinner after which they start to dance and sing. Tae and Jk are next to each other, though not physically close like we know them to be. To me they seem a normal, happy part of the group. Tae looks at Jk dancing with a huge smile on his face. We get an entertaining game of UNO during which Tae is proud to not finish last. Jk goes off to bed as soon as he's done. Tae stays to watch the others finish.

During their solo interviews both Tae and Jk express having had a great trip. Tae hopes fans won't have a problem with him having gained a bt of weight (which... hello, he looks amazing) and eating a lot. Jk actually apologizes for the tattoo artist 'scandal', but he emphasizes having been happy on the trip.

herding dogs are great and i'm definitely very biased towards them. i love those weirdos and all their chaos.

the reason i ended up going for a smooth collie is mostly prey drive. Borzois are proper sight hounds and will run after fast animals and bite to kill if they can reach them. which is what they were bred for and definitely doesn't make them bad dogs!

herding dogs have a modified prey drive that makes them stalk animals around and ideally have strong restraint on lunging and biting.

i know a lot of sight hounds are very chill with cats but i just felt more comfortable going with a herder. He does annoy his tiny older siblings a lot by herding them around the house when he thinks they need to be somewhere else and is a bit rough and clumsy in his play attempts but it's all manageable.

i also live quite rural with a lot of game like hares, deer and pheasants out and about around the house and have neighbours with free roaming ducks, chicken and turkeys. so having a dog with a low prey drive is honestly just a lot more comfortable overall.

that being said tho my trainer has the worlds daintiest little rough collie who has an insane prey and kill drive. so it's not a given they will just try to befriend every outdoor cat they see.

another point was size. smooth collies (especially males from US lines) can get quite big. Leon certainly is a good sized guy with almost 60cm shoulder height and 24kg!

i have a small car, bed and couch tbh. My mom is also struggling with physical health and already struggles with leon when he's a bit rowdy. i don't think she'd handle a dog that can get almost twice as heavy!

less a direct comparison thing but a big part of why i went with a collie in the end is that they are known to be kinda annoyingly clingy and oh god he is but so am i. having a weird little guy who doesn't get annoyed by it helps my mental health a lot.

i don't have experience with shelties and how they compare but generally you can expect smooth and rough collies to be a bit lower energy and more "stubborn"/independent than border collies if that helps.

i genuinely loved the movie, it's better than i was expecting and i was really happy with it, overall. some of my (maybe biased) thoughts though:

We got several mentions of people important to the characters. We got Natasha mentions for Yelena/Alexei, wife/kid mentions for John etc and not once were Steve or Sam referenced. Like are we just never gonna talk about the two most important people in Bucky's life ever again? I feel like a lot of the Steve avoidance is because Marvel's too scared to even MENTION him and draw attention away from what they're currently trying to do but like...... That's not the way. Put some respect on his name. And also, is anyone ever gonna explain what happened to Sam and Bucky??

Speaking of Sam and Bucky............ what the fuck was that in the post credit scene? I loved everything else about it but grrrrrrrrr.

I really really really wanted to see what Bucky saw in the void. Like I was fully expecting to see what each of them saw in the void and that didn't happen. I guess maybe they didn't have enough time??? But they should've.

Was not a fan of the subtle flirty vibes between Bucky and Mel and this has nothing to do with Stevebucky or my Bucky headcanons - I just thought it was weird that they kept pointing out the age difference between them and how she was in high school when he was 90 and then also include flirty undertones. Like???? You made it weird, Marvel. Not that most people won't be much younger than him for obvious reasons BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

This isn't criticism, just a thought. I wonder if they're pulling from the comics and having Bucky sort of take down Val from the inside. There was a little Revolution!Bucky easter egg in the post credit scene as well and that's similar to what Bucky did in the comics as The Revolution.

That being said, I really did like the movie, personally. I also love all the symbolism and got really emotional during the Bob vs Void scene when they all hug him and stuff, made me feel like it was definitely some sort of metaphor for what mental illness can feel like and I could relate a lot. Antipsychiatry is a specific political movement based on a framework of ideas, the way you might describe feminism. The most common way I've seen people misunderstand what it is is by reading it as a belief, as in "I don't believe psychology is real" and from there drawing the conclusion it's anti-science and based in conspiratorial ignorance. If that's where you're coming from, that's the misconception I'd like to assuage:

The first and most important thing to do when trying to approach antipsychiatry from antipsychs' standpoint is reframe what you think of as "psychiatry" to begin with. Because the average person associates "psychiatry/psychology" with one of two things—an objective science, or a field of healthcare—it sounds like a batshit fringe thing to declare you're opposed to it as a concept. That is not what psychiatry is when we talk about it, and for those of us who've had personal experience with it, it's not what we've experienced. What we're talking about is a system that's currently in place that has power it can and does utilize over marginalized people. The easiest starting point to this is obviously the concept of involuntary institutionalization, but there's more to a system than just one coercive ability and there is a network of ways people have been victimized by the psychiatric system.

A lot of people have an instinctive negative reaction to hearing about this for the first time because the assumption is that we're ideologically opposed to personal recovery or treatment access, or going around decrying the evils of addictive antidepressants like your aunt Sharon. Maybe some of us are, but that isn't universally what this is about, and imo it shouldn't be such an individualized thing. The way I approach it, this is first and foremost about the autonomy of mentally ill and cognitively disabled people to make their own decisions, which may involve meds or no meds, and certainly involves a lot of areas of life that aren't med-related but psychiatry as a system currently has a hand in.

Something important to remember: human beings wrote the DSM. It wasn't a gospel handed down from God; it's a flawed document with a lot of entries that are understudied, unstudied, or fully fabricated, and treating it like an objective source of fact is unstable ground. The first time I actually looked into antipsychiatry specifically, by name, was learning about "oppositional defiance disorder," the idea that there is a feature of the brain that makes kids "pathologically" averse to deferring to authority (and it mostly gets diagnosed in Black kids, while their white peers get diagnosed with ADHD instead? that's weird! anyway).

But most of us who are talking about this have personal experience with the psychiatric system that led us to firsthand, if emotionally biased, opinions. I have a diagnosis of "gender identity disorder" on my chart after being out as trans to a therapist that, according to the DSM V, decides my "incongruent gender identity" as a flaw of my brain; homosexuality used to be a disorder in the DSM, and asexuality still is. I have a diagnosis of anxiety that has caused urgent care doctors to dismiss me when I had acute breathing issues, and delayed an asthma diagnosis by decades. I'm obviously not anti-treatment, but I can't receive it myself because any diagnosis I'd receive from a therapist for my psychosis would limit my rights, especially as a trans person who wants to emigrate. As a very young kid I was prescribed risperidone to stop my autistic meltdowns so that my parents and teachers wouldn't have to accommodate my sensory needs. And nothing has pushed me further into antipsych conviction than the people who dismissed these complaints as simply how it works, like an unimaginative failure to view manmade constructs as separable from the laws of physics. If the DSM says trans identity is an illness, don't ask why, ask how can we change that?

Something else important to remember: nothing exists in a vacuum. Nothing can exist outside of the larger system of capitalism. Psychiatry needs to be understood as a tool that can be and is weaponized; I'm not in the camp that doesn't see the brain itself as an organ which can be influenced by both internal and external factors like any other, but ask yourself why it's easier to diagnose individual people with depression and prescribe Prozac or breathing exercises than acknowledge when their actual life circumstances might be what's making them feel trapped and desperate.

Antipsychiatry isn't about denying that mental conditions exist at all, or denying those who experience them appropriate treatment to improve their situation. It's an opposition to an oppressive power that can be held over people. That's why a lot of anarchists are antipsych and vice versa. It's not just about ableism and it's not just about institutionalization and it's not just about medication and it's not just about psuedoscience skepticism. It's a comprehensive framework and it's for everyone.

Another Love Language

You stood in the doorway to your bedroom watching your husband groggily walk around the room. He had just finished his first solo tour and it had clearly taken a toll on him. You knew he was exhausted both physically and mentally and you wanted nothing more than to help him relax and recharge. Grabbing his hand you pulled him to your bathroom where you had a hot bath waiting. You helped him slowly get in the tub hearing his sigh as the hot water soothed his sore muscles. You handed him a glass of his favorite whiskey and started to massage his shoulders. “Thank you for all of this Y/N. You have no idea how much it means to me.”, he said. You kissed his cheek and just let him bask in the silence for a while.

You bit your lip nervous to bring up the topic you had planned. “Umm Yoongi, I was thinking that maybe we could go on a little trip back to my hometown.” You could feel his shoulders tense back up. He really didn’t like going on vacation anywhere because anytime the two of you left the house it resulted in paparazzi and fans taking photos and coming up to you two and he just didn’t find it relaxing. You continued anyways, “Just hear me out. It’s a small little town. Kind of in the middle of no where. I doubt anyone will even recognize you and the few that might won’t even come up to us. I think it’ll be nice for me to be able to go back home for a little and for you to get a break.” Yoongi thought for a little, “Personally I don’t want to go, but I want you to be able to go back home Y/N. So let’s do it.” You kissed his cheek in excitement and continued on with his bath trying to relax him.

A week later the two of you got off of a plane in your home country of Italy. After an hour long cab ride from the airport the two of you made it to your home town. Yoongi had never been there before so we was taking in all of the scenery and views, “Wow Y/N it’s beautiful here. Maybe we could get a little house here and make it a vacation home or something.” You smiled as you were happy that he already felt that way.

Back at the hotel the two of you unpacked and ordered a late dinner from room service. Once your meals were eaten and you both showered and changed you got in bed. Yoongi welcomed you with open arms before the two of you quickly fell asleep from the exhausting day of travel.

The following morning you wanted to take him to get breakfast at a really good cafe down the street from the hotel. It was a beautiful sunny day so you decided to walk. One the way there Yoongi noticed that he was getting quite a few stares. He was used to being stared at by this point in his career but you had promised no one would recognize him. He was starting to wonder if maybe all these people were wondering what you were doing with a guy like him. “You okay over there?”, you asked after noticing he seemed to be staring off into space. He smiled and grabbed your hand, “Yeah just taking it all in.”

When you got to the cafe you got a table for two sitting out on the patio. Since the town was so small it didn’t really get a lot of foreigners so there was never really a need to have translations available. Yoongi was thankful that you were there to help. The waiter, an older woman, walked over and greeted the two of you. She looked at you and then looked at Yoongi. He felt like she was judging him just like everyone else. After breakfast the two of you went sightseeing all around having a good time. Yoongi was starting to forget all about the stares and uncomfortableness from earlier.

The two of you were walking through a park when you came across a gelato cart. It sounded so good on the hot day so you made your way over. Yoongi told you what flavor he wanted and after you ordered you started making small talk with the vendor while she was preparing your treats. She looked between you and Yoongi several times. Yoongi felt that uneasiness again, like they were judging what you saw in him. Like why you had to find someone outside of your home country when there were plenty of men around there. The vendor began talking with you, “È il tuo fidanzato?” You shook your head, “No, è mio marito.” Yoongi hated feeling so lost. Now he knew how you felt when you first got to Korea.

The vendor continued, “E 'cosi' affascinante. Un sorriso così bello.” You smiled, “Grazie! È davvero sorprendente.” You took the two cones and started walking back to the hotel enjoying your treat. You noticed that Yoongi had become very quiet. “Do you like your gelato?”, you asked trying to get him to talk to you. He nodded his head but didn’t speak. When you got back to the hotel he immediately locked himself in the bathroom. Wanting to give him some space you went and sat out on the balcony to enjoy the view.

After about an hour you thought it was time to go check on him. You were surprised when you saw him laying on the bed with his arm swung over covering his face. Gently you sat down next to him on the bed ,”Yoongles are you okay? Do you not feel well?” All you got in return was a grunt. “Yoongi what is wrong with you? Do I need to get you some water or maybe medicine?” He still didn’t respond. Frustrated you grabbed his hand and pulled his arm away so he could look at you. That’s when you saw his eyes, red and filled with tears.

“Oh my god what happened?”, you asked feeling heartbroken seeing him like this. He sat up in the bed, “Its nothing Y/N. Don’t worry about it.” Wiping away some of the tears with your thumb, “How can you tell me it’s nothing? We were having such a good day and suddenly you’re crying. This was supposed to be a fun relaxing trip and now you’re crying.”

Yoongi started chuckling, “I just feel like everyone here is judging us. They probably think you could do so much better than me or they want to know how you ended up with someone like me. I mean that vendor kept looking at me and then looking at you like she was disgusted by me. Maybe they’re right and you should’ve married someone from around here.” You started laughing taking Yoongi by surprise, “Babe she said you were very handsome and had a beautiful smile. She said I was very lucky to have you. People in this town aren’t used to seeing people from other places in the world. They’re honestly probably just admiring you when they stare.”

He started to feel better although a little embarrassed. “Plus even if this entire country hated you it wouldn’t change how I felt. I’ll always love you.”, you said before planting a big kiss on him. You could see his smile begin to come back, “She was right you know. You do have a beautiful smile.”

“So say that a guy wanted to tell his wife that she was the most beautiful woman in the world and that he loved her, how would he say that in Italian?”, he asked shyly. “Mia moglie, sei così bella. ti amo.”, you said. He began to slowly repeat after you which caused your heart to melt. “I’m going to work on learning your language, but in the meantime how about I just show you what I mean?”, he said before pulling you on top of him while kissing you.

Anyway headcanons under cut

I like to give Showfall employees/ actors wings both for visual appeal and cause I think it’s a good way to show the Founders influence (and cause i like them and I’m very biased.)

The Founder to me is not entirely human, maybe he was once but definitely not anymore. The bodies he uses were old workers he pilots around. Being a nonhuman entity I believe he has a sort of field to him that can cause psychical and mental changes in a person the more you’re around him. Thus the wings.

The wings are not physically there and nobody not affect by Showfall’s visual manipulation can see them. The only way to see them is via the visual manipulation (what makes blood appear green and so on.) Even then most actors can’t see it as it freaks them out. However if the actors have been there a while they can sorta feel them.

Wings are pretty much an indicator on who the Founder’s favorites are. It can also be the audiences favorites that get them too. Zero is a special case but I’ll get into that later.

Hetch and Ranboo both have them, Hetch being given them by the Founder and Ranboo by the audience which is why theirs are more transparent. (There was a Hetch drawing but I didn’t like it.) Some actors and employees get feathers but not much else.

Wings are also a good way to see if someone is going to die as the Founder tends to kill his favorites a lot. Oopsies.

The Founders weird as his entire face is covered. His face is also very hard to be perceived by anyone not under Showfall’s effects. You can look him in the face but can’t tell what his eyes are supposed to be. However the weird field around him causes whatever you think he looks like to become your reality. (If you say his eyes are brown you see them as brown) This is helpful cause having multiple eye witnesses describe him differently can ruin investigations.

Zero has two sets cause I like her. Her appearance is also hidden by Showfall. Similar to how the Founder works but with her whole body. However she’s more concrete and everyone thinks she looks pretty much the same. However there are some inaccuracies that can be chocked up to misremembering.

If you happen to fall out of favor with the Founder or the audience he can remove them. Or rip them off which is the option he goes for. (He’s the only one who can do this for some reason) Some employees have torn wings because of this.

Hetch keeps his wings open. He’s boasting that he’s in the Founders Favor. Ranboo only really gets them during the box scene and keeps his covering his face to keep the audience from staring at him (also the lights during the box scene are bright.) Zero keeps hers close to her head cause they freak her out.

I think Jay also has wings but that’s cause they’re a weird freak who knows too much /aff. The Red One is a full on bird.

TLDR- Wings mean the Founder likes you.

Hi Zen! This might be another difficult question for you to answer, but I'd like to ask: Which official artwork of Nagito do you like the most?

Even in the official art, he looks different sometimes, doesn't he? I am still confused as to what color his eyes are. (In a lot of fanfic they are described as gray, but in some art they are clearly blue).

I would like to know which of the official artwork, whether in games, anime or manga, is your favorite.

Whoa!! that Is a difficult question! I'll try to answer it though haha!

I have a lot of them I like but choosing one is pretty difficult... so I'll just start this answer off with a discussion on the inconsistencies statement! I believe Nagito's eyes are definitely gray, at some points it maybe hard to tell but they're definitely gray! There are a few anime moments where his eyes feel green, some promotional material straight up changes it to green, and a small amount spin off art may change it to something that can be interpreted as blue, but for the most part they are absolutely gray.

I think the only actual very small change he undergoes is his color tips? His hair always has a gradient but the colors used for it are a little inconsistent sometimes. In Danganronpa 3 they're red and occasionally purple so it's a little weird haha! Sometimes he's not drawn with his gradient at all, a slight gradient with the same color, a red gradient, or a purple gradient so it's pretty confusing. His gradient also changes with how prominent it is depending on the art if there even is one. He's drawn most often with red subtle tips though so I think that was the intention. You could probably chalk it up to lighting if you wanted Lol.

While I do love a lot of his sprites I think some of them are pretty restrictive and lack all of the emotions we know he's able to show because he does in other appearances. This is why I really like when the Mangas allow him to be very expressive beyond what his sprites can convey! I think his sprites can really excel with some expressions but falls flat with others.

Rambles about his sprites in Dr2 and his slight inconsistencies aside, a lot of his art is great! (I'm very biased) but I do have some strong opinions, positively and negatively, on quite a few of them. The main thing is that I don't know if I actually have a favorite??? It's a really difficult question.

But I do want to highlight these three dr2 cgs I really like! He isn't fully 100% consistent here but I really like them. I know a lot of people think Nagito's showing Junko's arm art looks bad but I honestly like it. Nagito about to play Russian Roulette is such an awesome moment too! The one where he has the fire behind him is not only really cool, but also a really good in game shot of most of his body from a different angle!

I truly, again, love his manga art! His specific spin off's manga has a lot of really amazing, interesting, and fun visuals! Even if I'm not really fond of the anatomy the artist uses it's still really good stuff. The Danganronpa 2 spin off mangas have really good anatomy and expressions he looks sooo good there I'm in love with it.

While I'm at it I also want to highlight his reference sheet, it's clearly consistent because that's the job of a reference and I think his expression is pretty cute here. I don't really see people talk about it so I just wanted to also bring it up Lol.

For the most part I've really struggled to directly answer your question because he has a lot of different interpretations, art, and appearances that all mix together into one mental image or understanding of what he looks like for me. I really love most all of his art so it's hard to say. Nagito has a lot of different tones in his art as well, from his crazed ramblings to happy expressions, he has so many tonally different art pieces because he excels at being sweet and intimidating. This makes it even more difficult!

In conclusion, I don't believe I can come up with an absolute answer for you unfortunately. Regardless though, I definitely learned from this that I have strong opinions on all of his art. I hope you enjoyed my appreciation for some of his art and small talk about mild inconsistencies of his haha!!

I haven’t been in the mood to do full reviews for a bit so here is a list of everything I’ve watched in August and what I thought!

Re-animator (1985) dir. Stuart Gordon: 5/5 ⭐️ this movie was so much fun! A really campy and beautifully done take on Frankenstein, two grad students (with homosexual undertones) brings people back to life with beautifully done practical effects. Will definitely be rewatching soon.

Bride of Re-animator (1990) dir. Brian Yuzna: 5/5 ⭐️ I can’t decide if which of these movies I enjoyed more, they were both so entertaining but personally the design of the undead bride is absolutely breathtaking and one of my favorite designs of all time. I can’t recommend this movie enough, such a fun watch.

The Truman Show (1998) dir. Peter Weir: 5/5 ⭐️ I am dumbfounded that this movie is classified as a comedy and not a horror comedy, the plot of this movie is genuinely one of the most terrifying things I can think of. (Heed caution watching this movie if you struggle with de-realization) This movie terrified me, made me cry, and had me clapping and cheering at the end. Fantastic movie.

The Return of the Living Dead (1985) dir. Dan O’Bannon: 5/5 ⭐️ As a huge lover of zombie movies I’ve got to classify this as my favorite zombie movie of all time. It’s super funny, the characters are awesome, and the zombie design is fantastic. The Tarman is my favorite zombie design ever and I LOVE how we get a reason for the brain eating from the actual zombies themselves. If you love campy 80’s horrors and zombies this is a must see.

The Evil Dead (1981) dir. Sam Raimi: 5/5 ⭐️ I am a huge evil dead fan so I am biased when I say I love all the evil dead movies. I love a gory horror movie that does not take itself serious at all. It’s so funny and campy and is just a fun watch if you can enjoy a movie without needing to dissect it. The gore and practical effects are so gross and awesome and the demons are a great time.

I Saw the Tv Glow (2024) dir. Jane Schoenbrun: 5/5⭐️ Everyone should watch this movie but if you are transgender you HAVE to see this movie. It portrays the horror, damage, and suffering that living your life in the closet can do to you. I could spend hours dissecting this movie and relating it to the trans experience but I guarantee if you relate to having grown up in any capacity as the wrong gender you will be bawling by the end of this movie. An absolute must watch.

Sleepaway Camp (1983) dir. Robert Hiltzik: 5/5 ⭐️ I love a fun slasher movie that takes place at a summer camp and this one does not disappoint. While trying not to give too much away if you haven’t seen it, some people believe this movie to be transphobic, and while I understand where they’re coming from I completely disagree. I consider this movie to be a trans allegory showing how dangerous it is to someone’s mental health to force them to be someone they’re not and the damage it can inflict to them and others. Great movie with a great ending.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) dir. Yorgos Lanthimos: 5/5 ⭐️It took me two watches to really appreciate this movie and I can’t fully talk about my thoughts without spoiling it, but this is a great psychological horror with such weird characters. If you’re watching this movie and wondering why every character is SO strange, talks weird, moves weird, and acts weird then just know that is absolutely intentional! Great watch and I recommend a few watches to really absorb the movie!

House of 1000 Corpses (2003) dir. Rob Zombie: 4.5/5 ⭐️ My boyfriend called this movie a love letter to horror and I have to agree. This is a fun campy horror that really has a lot of fun in its character designs and creative kills. It’s both very comedic while being disturbing and bizarre. (And Captain Spaulding is obviously queer coded, just how I like my favorite horror characters to be). A fun watch for any horror fan.

Blackfish (2013) dir. Gabriela Cowperthwaite: 4/5 ⭐️ I know I am 11 years late to watching this movie, and although not the best documentary I’ve ever seen, it got its point across very well. I had known about a lot that was in this doc but I still learned a lot that I hadn’t known. A very heart wrenching story about animal abuse at Sea World but with must know information. Even though it brought change (sea world is no longer allowed to capture or breed Orcas) I’m still distraught that Sea World is still operational to this day.

Lisa Frankenstein (2024) dir. Zelda Williams: 5/5 ⭐️ this movie is absolutely fantastic. Campy, funny, aesthetic, and romantic all wrapped in one. The characters were written in such a fun and in your face way. If you were ever “the weird girl” this movie is absolutely made for you. I love Lisa’s character so much and I love how throughout the movie she worked to be herself despite everyone BUT a dead guy wishing she were “normal”. Cinema is so back, this is the kind of movie I want to see.

Edit* yes technically the truman show is classified as a comedy *I* don’t consider it a comedy but I didn’t make the movie lol (well i guess technically a psychological comedy drama but yeah)

I watched The Eclipse (the series) and OMG I'm in Love?!?! ⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️

Ya'll I watched The Eclipse the series over the last few days and... omg. I have so much to say so buckle up. Obv there will be spoilers! I also wanna mention that this will be full of very biased takes because I absolutely fell in love with Akk soooo imma be defending him.

Now that that's out of the way, first, can we talk about the couples? FirstKhao's chemistry?! I know I'm late to the game but man they blew me out of the water!!! They were so cute and wholesome (dw I've seen the OF edits, ik they're not always this way lol) and Akk and Ayan just pulled me all the way in! They both deserve the world and I will not hear otherwise! Now, the side couple, KanThua, were not my cuppa tea. I love Neo, I haven't seen anything with Louis in it but he's a good actor from what I've seen, and they look cute together, but they just didn't snatch me up unfortunately.

That leads me into the second topic, the plot (this is where it gets long, strap in). I believe this is the main reason the side didn't snatch me. They were definitely given the short end of the stick (this is before I found out that I hate Thua with a passion but we'll get to that). I would've loved so much more buildup than what we got from them. Thua's storyline just felt kinda off to me. We saw his stepdad say one or two messed up things to him, which ya eff him for that, but every other time he was pretty nice??? Maybe I'm just missing something but idk. Also the whole "Bruce Wayne" thing was eh to me. Kinda cute, kinda weird.

Now, Akk and Ayan's storyline???? Sign me uppppp! I love everything about it! I love that they are so there for eachother and literally picked eachother up off the ground mentally so many times. They need eachother and you can absolutely feel it. Then, also their individual storylines are just amazing. My poor babies. Ayan and dealing with his uncle's death and witnessing the terrible things at the school and getting bullied by the teachers and his declining mental health. Akk dealing with the manipulation of the teachers and his need to prove himself and his need to put everyone above himself and his declining mental health and ugh... sorry I could talk about Akk for ages, ya'll know how I get with my babies lol. All this to say I definitely came not knowing what to expect but stayed for Akk & Ayan.

The general storyline is... a doozy. The whole curse thing was so interesting and then it just... wasn't. But at the same time it was??? Idk it's so hard to place how I feel about this part of the plot. I don't understand the whole thing with Teacher Chadock's confession and that somehow affecting what was going on? Like sir, you still manipulated kids (specifically Akk) into doing awful things, I don't think all that happened is an excuse for that at all? Yes, it sucks and never shoulda happened but like... why act like that towards the students this whole time? And he didn't seem to show much, if any, remorse for his behavior either so... idk.

Now... let's get into ep 11 and Thua's whole thing. I will never ever ever forgive the character of Thua for what he did. I don't care how right he was (which he mostly wasn't), I don't care if he was speaking some facts, you don't ever out somebody like that!!! Esp as a character who we know has faced such bad discrimination and bullying for the same effing thing!!! It makes absolutely no sense and there are no excuses! The fear in Akk's eyes... ugh I wanted to punch Thua so bad ngl. The way that he also isn't even right about Akk 'creating the curse' and doesn't mention that he himself continued it after Akk saw the error of his ways and stopped. He made himself out to be squeaky clean when he honestly had the most blood on his hands after this whole thing. When he was cheering the episode before about finding the "one responsible for the curse" IT WAS HIM! AKK HAD STOPPED AT THAT POINT SO IT WAS ALL HIM! He also wasn't telling the truth when he said Aye was covering for Akk using their love as a cover! At first Ayan wanted Akk to tell everyone what he did... but then he saw what a fragile state of mind Akk was in and decided to try a different approach. Thua should've gone to Akk and Aye himself, he had no right to say anything he said without knowing the full story!!! THEN HE JUST IS FORGIVEN!!! NOO! I know that it's because of the cuts they had to make that we don't get to see the characters forgive him and whatnot but I don't care. He. did. not. deserve. to. be. forgiven. No one is changing my mind!

I could go on forever tbh so let's move onto the third topic... the pacing. I know this is the main complaint for this show and rightfully so. I really really wish they would've gotten the 14 episodes they were hoping for instead of the 12 they got. The pacing is just out of wack. The first half-ish is beautiful.... then it drags (slightly).... then it's rushed. Just disappointing, but not anyone's fault. The crew apparently thought they were working with 14 eps, we can't blame them, and we definitely cannot blame the actors.

Fourth, and final, topic: the acting!!! Uuuugh, ya'll! I'd seen Khao in a couple things and First in Not Me, but this is by far the best I've seen of them! They showed all the emotions and omg these dudes are professional criers, how are they both so good at it?! Btw, I see people talk about Khao's acting more than First's I feel like (could just be what I see idk), but First snatched me up! He killed every single scene, give me chills multiple times (Khao too obv) and showed Akk's character development flawlessly! All the supporting actors were obviously amazing too (special shoutout to my boy AJ cuz I love the twins)!

Anyways, if you sat through this half-rant, half-review, congrats! I honestly love this show and it's for sure going to be one I rewatch all the time and try to dig deeper into Akk's mind every time lol.
