I know it's such a highly popular dinosaur but are they any interesting facts about the Tyrannosaurus Rex that isn't well known? I still love the Rexes wishing more dinosaur media treated it in the same way nature documentaries treat modern carnivores as animals just trying to surive and not just ripping up every living thing they encounter.
T. rex is actually one of the best studied (non-neornithine) dinosaurs ever, period. In fact, writing all the interesting facts we know about it is... more work than I particularly want to do right now, lol.
some things off the top of my head:
it wasn't built for moving fast in terms of miles per hour or whatever, but they were built for extreme cursoriality in other ways. Essentially, T. rex and its relatives were built for turning, quickly, on a dime. And they moved faster than the herbivores they were chasing. So these were animals built for short, surprise attacks on their prey. And ballet dancing
T. rex had the best sense of smell... ever. Like, ever ever. And its eyesight and hearing were good too. It had a fairly large brain for where it is in the dinosaur family tree, as well. Essentially, this was a dinosaur built to take in as much sensory info as possible, to pinpoint prey as quickly as possible.
T. rex aged kind of like people! IE, the process of going from infant -> sexually and skeletally mature adult takes about the same amount of time, with similar stages happening at similar times. So, T. rex had an awkward teenage phase! They were tall, but very skinny and lanky, and many researchers think that different ages of Tyrannosaurus filled different niches, with bigger rexes eating larger prey and the teens eating smaller faster dinosaurs.
That said, there's lots of evidence for familial groups and social life in Tyrannosaurs, based on fossilization patterns and footprint records. So it's very likely they took care of their young, and hunted in groups.
did they have feathers? no idea. they're big enough to have lost them for thermoregulation like many other dinosaurs did. they are in a group that have some big feathered animals, though, like Yutyrannus. Maybe babies had feathers and adults lost them. Maybe adults kept them some places and not others. We do know that there are parts of the Tyrannosaurus adult body that had scales. Beyond that - whether feathers were present too, or not - we don't know.
it was not skeletally sexually dimorphic. however, we do know that some tyrannosaurs were female because the fossilized when they were in the process of making eggs. during this process, dinosaurs - including living birds - deposit extra tissue in their bones called medullary bone. This tissue stores calcium to make eggshells from later. It's only present in actively ovulating female dinosaurs. So, we know some of our fossils were making eggs when they died!
the arms were small, yeah, but they were VERY strong. these weren't vestigial organs, yet, though their shortness was mainly due to the strengthening of the neck muscles. T. rex interacted with the world primarily with its head and jaws. The arms would have been helpful with holding on during mating, or possibly for display.
it wasn't a scavenger. it was an opportunist. No predators today avoid easy meals - life is all about minimizing energy spent to get more energy. But obligate scavengers tend to be flying organisms, ones that can cover huge distances, in order to find enough carrion. T. rex was definitely a predator, and had to hunt occasionally, but wouldn't turn up its nose at an easy meal.
T. rex lived all over western north america, right at the end of the age of dinosaurs. It was one of the most successful nonavian dinosaurs, ever, and would probably not have gone extinct so quickly if there hadn't been an asteroid.

talkn bout my opinions on rook and varric and roleplay and feeling disconnected (roleplay in a game sense not the freaky sense. sorry) - SPOILERS FOR ENTIRE GAME, BEWARE. this post is WAY too long. sorry about that too.
it's very evident that bioware/EA wanted an action/adventure game first and an RPG second, but let me type at you.
i hate to say that i didn't feel particularly sad about varric's fate, due to the structure of the game. it is, in hindsight, completely obvious that he was not alive! i just hadn't been thinking about varric much at all the entire game because you have limited opportunity to talk to him in the infirmary or when he plops around barefoot when everyone decides to sit at a table and talk about how fucked we are. i genuinely forgot he was there otherwise.
he barely feels like a guy himself. because there's no personalized worldstate, any specific mentions to events or characters might be jarring to the player who may have made a different choice along the way.
no one talks about how sorry they are about varric because they CAN'T or the twist is completely revealed. even with another DA2 character in the game (who my hawke romanced. who is now dead in the fade. glad to see you're LIVING IT UP ISABELA!!! (I'm jk. a little.))
there's no response rook can say to condolences outside of "oh, thanks" without the game fully revealing its Twist, because "I'll tell him you said hi" and "he'll be up and walking in no time!" are only reasonable responses from a Mourn Watcher, and even then, should still cause your companions to be a little alarmed. the closest we get to this is the inquisitor making reference to lost friends, and rook visually registers it, but its swept under the rug and moved on from immediately.
(i know we're all mentally unwell in this lighthouse repressing our feelings but jesus christ)
despite spending two games with him and enjoying him as a character, I struggle with feeling much for his loss AS my rook, because i found there to be no meaningful connection between him and rook. i was only told i was supposed to have one.
the game wanted so badly get the ball rolling with an immediate threat, its at the expense of roleplay. you could argue that da2 and inq also started with Immediate Threats but you are also very limited in the choosing of your backstory in those games.
rook was deliberately designed to be more open-ended, with more similarity to origins, but still gave you a prequel where you felt what your life was before The World Began To End.
there's this conversation you can walk in on with lucanis and davrin, where they're talking about their worst jobs. there are three dialogue for rook I think and i can only remember two but they were "I don't want to talk about it" or "man I have the dreadwolf in my head". (I... honestly think the third option was very similar to the second one but I have a very bad memory. sorry)
i played a mourn watcher mage. i had to have done some messed up spirit stuff. some bone shenanigans. not able to mention my Down With Nobles rebellion at all. i halfway expected it to be revealed that my rook was just like a shitty pawn (haha) and actually all her memories are fake and not real. but obviously you meet people from your shared backstory and they do know OF you but they don't really know you
in mass effect 1, there were some unique missions related to both the backstory and psychological profile you picked for shepard. they were short, and nothing happens like that in 2+3 that i remember, but they are unique to your character and are something at least.
no one really asks you much more about yourself! mourn watcher rook is literally Found In The Crypts as an Infant, an incredible mystery that you have to fill in the blanks yourself, which could be something someone wants-- but i personally like my characters a little more predefined in a game such as dragon age. vague history worked for me in games like skyrim and fallout new vegas, even baldurs gate! but makes me feel wholly disconnected from the story and group here.
there was a fair amount of dialogue choices for mourn watcher, especially with Emmrich-- talking with emmrich was one of the few times my rook felt like A Person-- but there were other times that my companions seemed to think emmrich was the only necromancer/watcher on the team. (i even specialized in death caller!)
by containing all the dialogue with companions to ! markers and outings, it's weird to be unable to have any conversations without being able to provide personal insight, whereas some NPCs in inquisition actively asked you about your past.
its particularly noticeable because of lucanis, whom my rook romanced. the dude has a lot to say about nevarran culture and the necropolis and such, and we can have zero conversations on the matter lol.
maybe this is like, really a mourn watcher thing? maybe it feels better as a crow or a warden. but if you offer me the choice to be a freak crawling around in a tomb. i am going to be.
TLDR: i really feel that a prequel mission, a recruitment by varric then a timeskip, a personal quest tied to the consequences of your backstory, something, anything, to make rook feel like an actual part of the world, was a necessity and sincerely a missed opportunity. if you actually read this far, thanks!

What do you think about Eda and her sudden transformation into a mom for everyone?
While I wouldn't say she became a mother for Everyone, I still have some thoughts to share regarding that evolution! More below the cut, as always!
Contrary to the claim presented above by anon, it wasn't that sudden. Of course, in the first episodes she called the ten year old living in her house a roommate and initially wanted the 14 year old from another dimension to be her helper, nothing about her was remotely motherly, but the viewer can clearly see the slow progression. As she got to know Luz more and more, we can see how the girl altered her views on many things by simply being around - thus forcing Eda to reconsider both Luz and herself more and more. In the Intruder as well as "Hooty's Moving Hassle" we see her realizing Luz' potential, alongside potentially seeing her younger self in Luz. After all, projecting isn't always a bad thing, though most of the time it does lead to severe misunderstandings. In Eda's case though, that just helped her realize what Luz needed as a fellow weirdo in order to thrive - since Eda probably didn't have that kind of guidance back in the day. I personally think that's where their bond truly began to evolve. From then on, we see that she does her best to give Luz the opportunities she deserves to thrive. However by that point, she still doesn't consider herself a maternal figure to both King and Luz. However, we do see in "Lost in Language" that she actually does have a deeply repressed need to perform the role of a caretaker - despite initially despising the idea of caring for the Bat Babies, when the time came to get them under control, she knew exactly what to do and was visibly happy with both the process and in the results - cuddling three infants without a care in the world, and then being even more visibly distraught then dissappointed when they disappeared. (Also let's not forget how she had a book with stories for kids at the ready at her house.) That goes to show that those feelings didn't appear out of nowhere. They were always there - repressed after years of being forced to be alone due to the curse and being chased by the law. After losing Lilith to the Emperor's Coven, hurting her father because of the curse, as well as breaking up with Raine as she was too scared to open up to them, it all lead to a wall forming around her - protecting her from making yet another attachement. One that Luz' presence broke through, per Eda's own words : "Dang it kid, your nonsense has gotten into my head." Eda got to know Luz, and in turn herself - realizing that being someone's caretaker and protector is what truly makes her happy and fulfilled, and that by living alone and for no one she was just wasting her life : which finally culminated in Agony of a Witch. Not only do we see Eda willing to sacrifice herself for Luz, in the next episode she says herself that she doesn't regret anything because she got to meet her. In season 2, now that she's happier with herself as a person, she only continued to act upon that deeply internalized need. Because that's good writing. You can't just add an important trait onto a character and then remove it with the next season. And, as it happens with love, it's contagious. It was only a matter of time before she assumed the maternal/caretaker role with "everyone" as anon put it, which...As far as I remember still only includes Luz, King and then the BATTs and partially Hunter, but he didn't stick around long enough to truly feel that love. He doesn't count. In "Them's the Breaks, Kid" as well as "Something Ventured, Someone Framed" it's also revealed that she felt responsible for Lilith and her well-being, going as far as to causing a scene to get her stolen lunch money back, or signing herself up for extra activities to escape expulsion, in order to stay with her. TL;DR No, her being a maternal figure wasn't sudden. Her actively enjoying taking the role of a caretaker was consistently and slowly built up over the course of the show, not a sudden retcon for the sake of feels. Hope that answers your question sufficiently!!

youâre so right in your art maria having gerhmans babies is the best ending to bloodborne how many would they have? probably gerhman wants many babies đłđłđłđł
Thank you anon(s) ! (I donât know it's the same person here??i guess?). Always happy to know people enjoy my ideas & drawings :) ! Especially that one.
Also Iâm sorry but I might have understand a few of your sentences a bit weirdly too? so allow me to explain my position on the subject. (+I feel like youâre reducing her to just have kids ahah i donât really like that. Not a fan of tropes where people just have many kids just to have kids too. But perhaps you didnât express yourself well)
(So I have multiple differents interpretations of characters relationships at the same times and I like to imagined multiple stories too. In canon. I really don't think anything serious ever happened between them. An if there's indeed romantic feelings involve on one sides or both I don't think it went really far due to the mess in Yharnam and mental states of the characters after the Hamlet.)
While imagining stories, I asked myself many questions : what type of persons the characters were, what they looked like for some... and at some point what's their view of parenthood. Who could have kids if they desire and who couldn't (because pretty sure at least 1 human in the entire of bloodborne is infertile) who would have like and who didn't want to. (I have some thoughts about Annalise on the subject for ex)
We know Gascoigne had children but he's a last generation hunters. I don't feel like many old hunters would have children for ex. Because of the hunt & how uncertain the future was (+the mental disorders & illness the fishing hamlet cause...) it's not the best move to have kids if you get killed afterwards or if the children in question ended up killed...
Also the game not really about babies ? Ok birth/ rebirth (and death) are central themes and thereâs Mergo, the orphan, the Vilebloods and all. Itâs funny the humans want to become gods but the gods are envious of the humans because they can give birth⊠so yeah itâs ONE of the central themes with how far humans are willing to go⊠but i donât see how that would link to some particular characters wanting lots of kids. ^^â
But well it's headcanons time now.
Concerning Gehrman, I feel like he didn't seriously consider having a family for a huge while because of his way of life but still have a soft spot about the idea to have a lil family of his own. And then consider that maybe he could build smt with Maria đ„Č If he's not an hunter anymore pretty sure he would make the perfect house malewife husband. But i also feel he's more like : "it's ok if we don't have children, we'll just have a dog then." type of guy. Not wanting to push things to fast and donât really want too many too? Just want his family to be happy (I mean heâs not the one birthing them so he would like to discuss things first xD and heâs scared something goes wrong too.) will actually do a pretty good job at taking care of children i think.
Concerning Maria it's a bit more tricky...well when you look at the characters in the hunter's nightmare and everything you don't get the feeling she would like to actually have/give birth to a child. But it's a nightmare and I still consider the doll as being a lil part of her. She looks genuinely happy to take care a of lil great one in the 3rd ending đ„ș So I fell she might have wanted/like at some point take care of an infant if the conditions were optimum ? I even headcanon that maybe she took care of sick infant at the church/ research hall T_T I tend to makes lot of parallels with myself and Maria so iâm like hm she donât want to ? Can she even? But maybe she wished at some point too? She donât want to use blood as a weapon, a way to hurt and kill living being thatâs why i think she feel closer to the church mindset about this « sacred medium » : she may think it should be use the blood to heal people, to give lifeâŠ
SO anyway that drawing is an AU where basically the good hunter said it was "rewind time" and managed to gives a 2nd chance to everyone. (I won't develop too much here but basically the orphan of Kos lived, no RH like we know it and no hunter nightmare and Laurence didn't screw up that bad with the old blood) so they all donât go mad and donât develop mental disorders đ
I love drama and tragedies i think they deserve happiness in the end đ (yes itâs my way to cope with the the sad things i imagined too)
As for numbers of children iâm not really the type of person to imagining lots of kids⊠i really donât focus my stories on that (this one is an exception and it made me happy đ„ș) and when i imagined oc or others stories with kids 3/4 of the time itâs a really conspicuous and responsible choice when they very long discussion about it (that work for this as well)
I know at the 19th century used to have generally lot of children (the grandparents of my grandparents were like 10âŠ) but in Bloodborne & soulsborne games it feels like people who have kids have like 1 or 2. (Exception for Elden Ring with 3 siblings from the same parents! And even more with the half siblings yoooo!)
So basically i thought of 2 lil kids for now. (Perhaps 3 with an adopted one) but add one more if you count the dog xD
I have differents scenarios how things went (but havenât have everything settle yet) but here they are in a lil house, next to the forest, and next to a village. A bit far from Yharnam (taking time for them but also still working for the church? But i had an ideas where they stayed in Yharnam too?) Hm i donât know, i have a few ideas but i wonât in details here.
So iâm glad to have found the courage to actually draw & share it. It just melt my heart every time i look i itâŠ(best thing to fall asleep in a good mood!)
#my asks#please people don't reduce woman to being married and having children thank you đ I am literally the opposition of this myself#UPDATE : this is a troll! who's really misogynistic!!! it's disguting to think that way but it is a troll trying to frame me as smn bad#just because of a cute lil ship drawing help. I just wanted to stay polite but it's not just a weirdo#anon hate#ask drama?

Muffin, did tou change the chapter count on As the world should be? :0
Yeah, I sneakily marked As the World Should Be as completed when I realized that A) it's in a good spot to be finished as a standalone short, and B) I am really not gonna get back to it for a long long time. I may yet return to it, but for all intents and purposes it's done.
But since you Definitely Asked, here's the start of what would have been the second chapter:
2. Negotiations
Ozai had once entertained the possibility of bonding with his son. They were both second born. Both destined to be overshadowed by the child before them, simply due to poor luck and a tragically low infant mortality rate among the upper class.
Azula was the perfect heir; eager, obedient, a firebending prodigy, blooming within the court from the first time she realized she could threaten a servant with fire and face no reprimand.
It was easy for the subtler talents of a second born to be overlooked. For the quiet work of a political mind to appear subservient to their older, flashier sibling.
From when his son was first old enough to be worth the investment, Ozai made certain to set aside time to spend with the boy.

The guard lemur announced Zuko's presence with a loud chittering call and then sat itself on his shoulder like one of the palace lizard-dogs detaining a target, ready to maul on command. Zuko stopped walking and tried to ignore its gigantic eyes watching his every move, its head nearly pressed against his. He would really prefer not to lose half his face.
"Avatar. I've come to open negotiations. As weâ" the lemur started tugging at his crown, but Zuko's hands were too full to brush it away. "âAs we discussed."
"Come on over! Have you had dinner yet? And it's all right to just call me Aang."
"Nu-uh," the nonbender said. "Pause. What are you carrying, and what are they doing here?"
"Writing supplies?" Zuko said, raising his portable writing desk a little higher, and catching the bag of paper and inks before it could slide off.
Which left the issue of Mai and Ty Lee standing behind him.
"We're chaperoning!" Ty Lee said.
"Wouldn't want anything to impinge upon his Highness' honor," Mai said.
Zuko flushed. And accepted the AvatarâAvatar Aang'sâinvitation to join them at their fire. He even accepted a bowl of⊠something that was rice-based⊠to be polite. He set the bowl on the edge of his desk, and arranged a stack of papers and ink pot and readied his quill. Which the guard lemur confiscated with its tiny paws. ...He readied another one.
"I think it would be prudent to begin with our opening terms," he said. "What do you want?"
"The war to end," Avatar Aang said.
Zuko diligently wrote this under the column titled Demands of the Avatar and His Associates from the Nations of Water and Earth as Regarding the Avatar's Surrender (First Draft).
"More specifically," the nonbender said, "for the war to end without the Fire Nation ruling the world. Troop withdrawals, that navy of yours needs to stay out of our waters, reparations for rebuilding, war criminal trials that aren't a complete farce, in fact, why don't you just turn them over to us for judgingâ"
"A firebending teacher for Twinkletoes," the earthbender said. "One who isn't going to fry him. And you guys can't keep squatting on Earth Kingdom land."
"My mother's necklace back," the waterbender growled under her breath.
He diligently added all these to the list.
"What does the Fire Nation want?" Avatar Aang asked, when they were done saying things almost faster than he could write.
Zuko started putting marks next to the things that made sense. "We want the war to end too, obviously," he said, and ignored the general Water Tribe reaction to 'obviously'. "Troop withdrawals and land and sea border treaties would be a part of that, and if there are war criminals than of course they'll be brought to justiceâ"
" 'If'?" the nonbender squawked.
"Zuko," Mai said. "You're not supposed to tell them what we'll agree to. You're supposed to talk their terms down. By using your own."
"Oh. Right." He sat up a little straighter, and started writing under the Fire Nation's column. "We'll need Avatar Aang's surrender, or at least his reclusion from any hostile actions, both now and in the future. His bending instructors should probably be with him, so he can learn to⊠actually be the Avatar. And so they don't do anything political on his behalf. And, uh. I'm not sure about reparations, aren't those⊠usually for the side that loses?"
(There was additional squawking, and some growling from the waterbender.)
"But we will want trade deals. Which can certainly include supplies for rebuilding."
And had to include food, because the Fire Nation's population had lived for a hundred years outside the borders of their island, they didn't all fit there anymore. There was a reason they had to keep expanding the colonies' borders.
This seemed like a good place to leave their initial negotiation rounds. Before any war crimes could be inflicted against his person. Also, he should probably consult with father before making any formal promises.

Enclosed please find a copy of Avatar Aang's initial demands prior to surrender. There is a significant amount of common groundâ
Ozai was very aware of his brother sitting across from him, sipping tea.
"Who knew your son would be such a diplomat!" Iroh smiled. "Ah, but obviously you did. I admit I had my doubts when you sent such an inexperienced combatant into the field, brother, but clearly I lacked the foresight to see that this was your plan all along!"
"Indeed," Azula smiled, with no fewer teeth. "Quite ingenious, father."
Firstborns. How Ozai loathed them.
#I'm actually disgruntled with myself for not finishing#because the title doesn't make complete sense until the end#it's such a good title guys#so good Sokka will SCREAM#as the world should be#avatar the last airbender#atla

HP Boys: Surprise Pregnancy Head Cannons
Summary: The HP boys and their reaction to their s/o (afab) being pregnant when its not planned.
A/N: This takes place post Hogwarts so all characters are 18+, though no real smut happens in this so its not an 18+ fic.
WARNINGS: UNPLANNED PREGNANCY, MENTIONS OF PRO CHOICE OPINIONS, MENTIONS OF SEX IN LITE TERMS, SWEARING, FLUFF, MENTIONS OF ALCOHOL, ALSO THIS IS SUPER LONG SORRY LOL
Draco
So everything is going great for the happy couple, you two just moved into a flat together and are working normal jobs, drinking wine like adults.
And sure, Draco knows he wants to marry you, but he knows youâre not ready to settle down like that so he just plans and dreams.
Due to poor choices, when youâre late by two weeks, you know what it probably is.
Draco doesnât even notice that you ran out to the store and came back and hid in the bathroom for 10 minutes. CEO of minding his own business ig
You just kinda...walk up to him and hand him all 3 tests while your eyes fill with tears because what if he demands you get an abortion?
Or what if he fucks off to god knows where?
But instead he just looks at you with the most un-draco like smile. Like his face was soft and it looked like he could cry any moment.
âOh my god,â He says, putting his hand on your belly, âI can be ready for this, but if you arenât then we can you know...â
âNo, I want itâ then both of you rejoice bc yay baby!
Cut to 6 months later when your feet hurt so bad you have to lay down and watch while Draco fails to put a crib together.
He eventually gets it done tho.
And when the time comes, heâs built and arranged everything for your bundle of joy.
Harry
So you guys are probably already married, but with everything at the ministry going on, it makes Harry less than a family man.
You both agree that itâs probably better to wait so you can be home and yk...raise it.
Well smart man Harry forgets that to not have a kid you need to use protection.
So of course when your period is late you donïżœïżœt think about it, until its four weeks late.
That night, you and Harry are laying in bed, and thats when you tell him.
âHarry..Iâm late.â
âLate for what?â headass.
You: đłđ
Him: đđđČđČïżŒ
Heâs hesitant to say anything, because he knows its ultimitley up to you what happens with it until its out.
âI think I want to keep it...you know it wont remember much for the first year and a half so if things are stressful it will be okay and-â
âLove...Its going to be perfectâ
Mf built the crib in like 45 minutes I swear.
And of course he forced you to keep up with your vitamins, pre natal care, and appointments.
Swear tho youâre about to kill him because cofFeE
But the way he holds your baby đ„ș its his most valued thing ever now.
Ron
Ron is iffy on the kid thing sometimes.
He does want them, but only later when you guys have lived and travled.
So no, you two havenât planned nor is it even in the picture when your wedding roles around.
Itâs in the early days of the marriage when you see his family at the burrow on the way back from the honeymoon.
And of course Molly knows
Because Weasleys are hyperfertile I swear.
She takes you into the kitchen and puts her hands on your arms, shes got that big Mrs.Weasley smile on too.
âI knew it!â She says and pulls you in for a hug, âHow far dear??â
Youâre just standing there likeđ§đ»
âI can see it by the way you glow! Oh my you and my Ron must be so happy!â This woman doesnât notice that youâre confused.
âWait what? Mrs. Weasley what are you-?â Then you count the days, âOh. Well I guess I just found out for myselfâ
Her face falls slightly, but then she tells you can make you a potion that will tell you if you are or not, stan.
The stupid potion turns green when you spit into it, so everything is confirmed.
That night, you and Ron are getting ready for bed in the guest room and you decide to tell him.
âRon, sweetie. We need to talk.â He looks like heâs gonna start crying but sits next to you on the bed.
âY/N...I know its scary but please, we just got married I donât want to divorce quite just yet đ„șđ„șâ
âRon I-â you start smiling, âIâm pregnant you dufus.â
He just freezes, for a while. Not saying anything, he just looks at the wall with his mouth ajar.
So you get up and go to Ginny.
âGin, I broke him.â
âEw, I donât want to know about how you and himâ
âNo, I told him that Iâm pregnant.â
âOh, yeah that would do it. Just I donât know... Give him a minute?â
You give him several, getting a glass of water then heading back up to the room.
Ginny was right, he needed a minute.
âI donât...I wasnât...you were.?â
âYou donât have to stay, but I think we can do it. Plus, you would disapoint your mom if you left so...â
âOkay...weâll do it. Iâll be the best damn Father you have ever seen.â He says, talking to your womb.
Well...heâs a father Iâll give him that.
Pro of having a Weasley baby: free crib thats already put together.
Even if it looks like a death trap.
âWeâll put some blankets over it donât worryâ
You know how some Dads hold their parters hand during the delivery? Yeah he got sick and was moral support from the outside.
To be fair, you werenât screaming in pleasure by any means.
Scary. But beautiful.
He shows the kid to everyone, he might be more in love with the baby than he is with you.
Ron seeâs the appeal of having kids now.
Neville
Moving in with your boyfriend is always fun, right up until you guys go at it so much you forget protection more than once.
You think about it, then move on with your day.
Until the doctor calls, then âoh fuckâ
Romance Neville bf
âWhy arenât you having any wine? I thought it was your favorite?â
âI donât think fetal alcohol syndrome is my favorite.â BRO HE SPAT
But he looks up with tears in his eyes, and runs over to you to grasp you in a hug.
âOh my god! Youâre pregnant! Oh my - Weâre gonna be parents!! Oh my god weâre gonna be parents oh-â Que you petting his hair till heâs calm again.
Lets be honest, this man probably swapped the herbology books for the parenting guides.
âWell I mean Iâm just wondering if we should go with this color or this oneâ
âNev, it doesnât matter. Our baby will not care.â
âI read in my book that Infants actually can recognize mood in-â
He wonât let you do anything during your pregnancy.
Gotta love a man who cries because he loves you so much and youâre having his kid.
âI never had a father, what if I do it wrong? What if the baby hates me and runs away at seven?â
âWeâve got quite a lot of time before then.â
He was there during delivery, letting you crush his hand like a champ.
You canât help but cry when you see him sleeping on the floor next to the crib, its so sweet.
FredïżŒ
You two most likely already had two kids, so you decided to wait a bit so your hands werenât quite full.
Well...your body decided not to wait.
A test provides the two lines, another wild child.
The two toddlers already run around like thing one and thing two, only with red hair.
I think Fred would gladly make the family dinner, and wear an apron. Heâd own it, as he should.
But mf gotta not drop the salad bowl when you tell him of the fetus inside you.
âFred we are going to have a bee-ay-bee-why.â
Your five year old has just begun to spell đ
Heâs happy tho.
Like over the fuckin moon.
He buys the two kids big brother/sister shirts too đ„șđ„ș
He knows the drill pretty well, so he isnât too worried about the future.
But its funny that he still freaks out about the crib and feeding chair since he gave it away, you know because you guys werent having another kid.
He packed a hospital bag and kept it in the trunk, counting down the days.
Hours of delivery (He just sat back and held your hand) only to end up with a room full of 7 Weasley family members.
Fred always said that 3 was his lucky number :)
George
You guys were taking it slow, no marriage until you both felt it was time. And certainly no children before that.
Well you know...things changed when the test was positive.
You slid it over on the table, tears pooling in your eyes. He was stunned and quiet, which made you burst out sobbing because you knew that neither of you planned on having a baby.
But to your surprise he starts to smile.
âI want whatever you want, Iâm staying by your side no matter what.â
âI mean...would it really be so bad? A house, a kid, a dog?â He holds your hand as you think aloud.
You both give it a week to think it over and the virdict is to keep it.
Thats when he decides he has to marry you, asap because he loves you and will never let you go especially now.
He loves to gush about the carrier of his child, to him you are a godess.
Heâs the Dad with a predestination complex.
âY/N, I just see him being a star quiditch playerâ
âGeorge, we donât know if itâs a him.â
He rolls his eyes âOkay then I can see her being a star-â
He made Hermione take you out for a movie date so he could rearrange your bedroom, since you only had a single bedroom flat.
You come back to a new set up including a cot.
Damn pregnancy hormones make brain go đ„șđđ
He freaks when your water breaks lol
ceo of driving like a maniac to the hospital.
He canât hold your hand, heâs pacing back and forth, sweating and maybe crying though heâll never admit to it.
You get the joy of watching him cuddle the baby while refusing to give your child to you.
âGeorge Iâd like to hold-â
âNo, you need your sleep honey, donât worryâ
Hogging the child.
Cedric
Its no secret that Cedric wants a baby someday.
And he makes it clear your wedding will be spectacular too.
However, finding out youâre pregnant the week of your dream wedding was a shock.
A shock that made you bang your head into the wall because how could you be so stupid?? We had a plan??
So you decide to wait until after the wedding, that way it wont add onto the stress (happy stress) of the wedding.
Cedric keeps trying to fill your glass at the reception, to which you kindly refuse saying you want to remember the night entirely.
Yeah heâs like đ€š mhm okay.
You can only pick at the dinner because ew salmon doesnât sound like an option if you want to keep the contents of your stomach.
As everyone waves goodbye to the car, and you both set off into married life, he leans over.
âI may be out of my mind, but are you...?â
âPregnant.â His face lights up, pulling you into a hug.
Finally, your car pulls up to a small cottage with lush garden scapes all around, putting a hand out, he walks you both from the car to the door.
âCed, where are we?â
âHome.â
Somehow it was perfect with Cedric, even when it was rushed.
He loved talking to your womb, even if it was weird that he was talking about the babies future brothers and sisters.
âCedric, slow down. We havenât even had this one yetâ
Basically he is father of the year before heâs a full father.
Heâs there while you deliver, holding your hand and telling you how great youâre doing.
He doesnât even complain when you insult him <3.
He updates you on everything.
If his eyes arenât on that child, heâs either asleep or dead.
I think Cedric was meant to be a family man, because he loves everything about being one.

for the first time
summary: the reader finally sees her life in a new point of view, thanks to carlisle, who has helped her with her abusive husband, her baby girl luna, and her life in general. Â
pairing: carlisle x female! married/widowed! abused! reader
word count: 1.6k words
warnings: female reader, married and eventually widowed reader, reader is abused by her husband, reader has the surname Wolf in this bc comedic reasons, reader has a child named Luna by said husband, mentions of murder, no depictions but carlisle definitely did the stabby stab (at least if thatâs what you wanna assume he did), uhhh reader got them widow benefits by the end but thatâs a story for another time, ALSO for some reason i put this in the year 2005 and it goes on to 2006/2007? so this would technically be the same timeline as bella and edward meeting. so first movie. yes. i love the technicalities of everything. honestly didnât mean for it to happen but it did soÂ
a/n: i have no words
Carlisle first had the honor of meeting you at your then-husbandâs Christmas party. It was December 20th, 2005. Your child was most definitely due by the end of January. You were quite literally glowing, and Carlisle believed you were the most beautiful thing he had seen in some time. However, most of the beauty was because of your skill with makeup. Without it, bruises galore would be revealed to the outside world, and your husband would not be too happy to find out that you showed off the newest shiner he gave to you.Â
Even while pregnant, he did not care for your wellbeing. Hell, he made it quite obvious that he would never care for the little girl growing in your midsection. But even if he was a terrible prick, you decided to have this child. Of course, maybe it would have been better for you to end the pregnancy early on. However, a part of you didnât want that. A part of you wanted to have the baby and leave your husband. Whichever order it came in would be fine. But knowing now that it would be the latter made you nervous. Â
The second time Carlisle saw you was in the middle of a grocery store, calming down your newborn baby. Your husband had sent you out in the middle of February, just a month after giving birth. You were alone, and everything was upsetting. Your babyâs little cries caused your own tears to well up in your eyes. Â
When the two of you made eye contact, you finally broke. You didnât want anyone to see you like that, and yet, here you were with your husbandâs co-worker, crying in the middle of the bread aisle. Â
âMrs. Wolf, please. Let me help you,â Carlisle softly said, leaving his buggy on the other side of you. He came over, looking at your baby. âIâll get her to calm down.â
You took his word for it, allowing Carlisle to comfort your crying child. âPlease. Donât call me that. [Your name] is fine.â
He watched you with soft eyes and nodded. âAnd who is this?â he softly asked, looking down at the fussing infant. Her eyes were shut and she never once had actual tearsâone thing that never sat right with him was how babies couldnât form tears until they were about two months old (sometimes even longer). Â
âLuna,â you softly spoke, watching as your little girl started to calm down in his arms. You sniffled softly, wiping your eyes with the back of your sleeve. You should have been more careful, but you didnât care at this point. It was getting harder and harder to do this; if someone saw a bruise, someone saw a bruise. Â
âThatâs a beautiful name,â Carlisle spoke, looking back at you. âShe is very lucky to have you as a mother.â
By the third time Carlisle had properly talked to you, your husband had died. Under mysterious circumstances, but he was gone. And you couldnât have been happier. You had an idea of what had happened. Especially when you once opened your eyes in the middle of the night to see a flash of blond hair. But you drifted off back to sleep, not thinking anymore of it until the morning after when your husband was missing. However, you never once said anything. Â
Weeks after he had passed, you had hired a babysitter for the evening. Carlisleâs two girls. Â
And for once, you did not have to worry about the makeup covering your bruises. In fact, you wore your makeup how you liked it instead of having to wear it to protect your dead husband. You found yourself sitting in your car, in front of the hospital. Alice had informed you that her adoptive father was currently at workâthat he was constantly working, and he never once took a break. Â
Maybe you should have just turned around. Maybe you should have just left Washington, altogether. But your legs started moving before you could stop them. And once you saw Carlisle, you knew that you had to speak with him. Â
You didnât even have to say hello to him for the man to walk in your direction. He smiled kindly at you, and you wanted to say something. You desperately wanted to thank him for saving you, even if he never admitted it. Â
But the words never found your tongue. Your arms wrapped around the doctor, your face buried deep in his blue dress shirt and his white lab coat. Carlisle had never been more grateful for not carrying his clipboard around. He wrapped his arms around your body, holding you close. Â
Although the two of you never said anything, one thing was clear; you were both grateful for each otherâs existence. Even if you lived vicariously through passing glances and thoughtful actions. Â
Luna was nearly one by the time you decided enough was enough. You were a widow, now. You did not have to worry about what your husband would say. And one thing was certain; the blond-haired doctor had your heart in more ways than one. Â
He was so kind to you, always offering help and joyful smiles. His conversations carried you through your long days and kept you awake at night as you thought of how you could tell him how you truly felt. Â
But now, you knew enough was enoughâyou knew that you were not getting any younger, and neither was Carlisle (of course, because he was humanâof course, you wouldnât learn that until later). You needed to talk to him. You needed to take a course of action. Â
You grabbed your keys, walking to your door. Luna was babbling in her car seat. You sat it down to get the door open, nearly jumping out of your skin when you saw Carlisle standing there, prepared to knock. Â
He had a bouquet of your favorite flowers in hand and a rather awkward smile. Â
âMy apologies... are you going somewhere?â
Your cheeks began to burn. You sat your keys on the table beside your door, shaking your head. âI was going to see you, actually.â
Luna giggled up at the man when he came into her line of vision. She adored Carlisle. Â
âOh, that makes this easier then,â he let out a soft laugh, hesitantly holding out the flowers to you. âThese are for you. I... I had asked Alice what your favorites were. I hope you donât mind.â
You smiled. âNo... No, I donât,â you said, clearing your throat. You moved out of the doorway so that he could come into your house. âI was hoping that.. well, I am hoping this now. Iâve needed to talk to you. For a while now. I really, really need to just get this off my chest, you know? I justââ
ââcould I be of any assistance?â he chuckled softly. âPerhaps I can find the words that you are searching for.â
You rolled your eyes, unable to keep your smile from forming. âCarlisle, Iâve... loved you since before my husband died. I know that for a fact, now. And I... hope that you feel the same way. About myself. And Luna. Weâre a package deal, you know.â
He chuckled softly and nodded. âI know that you are a package deal. I... am very glad you feel that way, too.â
âToo?â
âYes,â Carlisle smiled at you. âI have loved you since the first time I have set eyes on you.â
You snorted out a laugh, crossing your arms over your chest. âThat long, huh?â
He just smiled, watching you with kind, golden eyes. âThere are many things I need to tell you, [Your name],â he said, finally shutting the front door behind of him. He looked down at Luna and got her out of the carrier, especially when she happily reached for the man. âPerhaps we can take this evening to talk?â
You smiled, nodding. âI donât know what the hell youâre talking about, but yeah. Iâd like that.â
All of you made Carlisleâs beatless heart skip. He could only hope that it was the opposite for you (he could definitely hear how fast your heart began to beat the closer he got to you). Luna entertained herself with the buttons on Carlisleâs shirt while the two of you talked until she fell asleep against him. Â
Perhaps it was that moment that you truly knew that you were in love with Carlisle. Noâthat action only fortified your love for the man. You knew you had loved him just as long as he had claimed to love you. And for once, you were not afraid of what love could do.Â
Because you believed you loved your deceased husband, you married him. You slowly watched him become a horrible person. And then you had Luna with him. Of course, that was the one good thing that came out of him. Perhaps the chance of meeting Carlisle as well. Â
But you knew that now, the love you felt for Carlisle was as real as the infant in Carlisleâs arms. And it would never burn like your last loveless love. Â
For the first time, it felt like you were seeing yourself in a new light. You were seeing everything from a different perspective. And Carlisle allowed that. Carlisle helped you find that. Â
Even if he hadnât have been there, you would have still found it. However, you knew that he made it so much easier than it would have been. Â
For the first time, you knew real love. With Luna, and now with Carlisle. Â
Despite everything that had happened to you, it seemed as though the universe was finally connecting the dots. And you couldnât wait to see what she was going to give you, next. Â

Place Your Bets
Implied (Future) Keiichi Kuzuryuu x Reader
Summary: This is a reimagining of the mangaâs version of the Four of Clubs game, featuring a very stubborn, very smart mother hen Y/N instead of a gentle girl.
A/N: I have literally never seen anyone write for Kuzuryuu and that made me sad, because I love him. Also I know very little about how to actually take care of a baby so please be forgiving.
TW: Blood, leg injury, a crying baby
Walking along a deserted street, a man in a hat was making his way toward tonightâs game. Based on his body language, you would think he didnât want to go, but in honesty, he was tentatively looking forward to it.
âOh my god, another person!!â The voice of a woman caught his attention, pulling his gaze away from the lights in the distance. As he looked over, he took note of how clean she was, all glow and innocence compared to the world around her- a new arrival, clearly. But what truly surprised him was the fact that she was carrying a sleeping baby in her arms. It was rare to come across a child here, much less a baby. Perhaps it was herâs, which was why she hadnât abandoned it yet, âYou wouldnât happen to be this babyâs father, would you? Or at the very least have seen anyone who could possibly be their parents?â
So it wasnât herâs. The man wondered how long it would be until she gave up on it.
âNo, sorry. Iâm on my way to a game, so if youâll excuse me,â He tipped his hat and took a step, only to feel his arm grabbed.
âWait, what game? Should I be heading there too?â
âYou⊠donât know about the games? Are you new here?â He already knew the answer, but no point in signaling that to her. She may end up a Heart Specialist and get into his head, after all.
âYes, actually! One moment, I was going to meet up with my friends, and the next, the entirety of Shibuya was powered down and empty except me and this little one here,â So sheâd walked all this way from Shibuya in just a few hours? Maybe a Spades Specialist, then.
âWell then you should come with me. We need to get you registered for a game so you donât end up a day one victim.â
âWoah, what?? Day one victim??â The color drained from her face, before she grabbed his hand and began walking, âWhat and where is this game? Is it Trivial Pursuit? Because Iâm really good at Trivial Pursuit! Wait, but thatâs a one winner game and this is looking more and more like the set up for a death game manga but in real life,â She looked back at him, âDid I get stuck in a death game manga but in real life?â
âUmâŠâ He didnât really know how to respond to this woman. Regaining his wits, he caught up to her brisk pace and pointed in the direction of the lights, âSee those lights? Thatâs where the closest game is. And, yes, you unfortunately didâŠâ
âBrilliant, letâs go,â She still held onto his hand as they walked, confusing the man. They were complete strangers and heâd just told her that she was walking towards her probable death, yet she continued to hold his hand as though they were allies.
Walking up to the glowing tunnel, the man spotted the registration phones on a table, three of them already missing. The already registered participants were scattered nearby, looking at them strangely. Did they perhaps think he, this woman, and the baby were a family? The thought almost flustered him.
âSo what do I do?â The woman asked him when they got over to the table, âJust take one of these phones?â
âYes, here,â Handing her one, he watched as she tapped to turn it on.
âI donât like the fact that this facial recognition already had me registered with an ID number,â She scoffed, putting the phone in her skirtâs pocket before hesitating, âWait, do I need to register this baby too? I mean, obviously Iâm not gonna abandon it, but⊠theyâre a baby, they canât really play a game.â
âNo, unfortunately they need to be registered⊠Here,â Picking up another phone, he held it up to the face of the babe, the ping of the completed registration sounding a moment later, âYou keep hold of this one too, since youâre holding the baby.â
âAlright, sounds good to me,â Placing the other phone in her pocket, she cooed at the baby, âYou better hope this isnât Trivial Pursuit or Iâm gonna have to kick your butt, baby~ Thatâs right, thatâs right~â
âPlease donât taunt the baby like that. Itâs⊠unnervingâŠâ Nervously pulling on his collar, the man was surprised when she just laughed.
âSorry, I cope with stress by joking aroundâŠâ She placed a hand on the back of her neck as they walked over to the others, âThe only way this baby isnât surviving is if itâd be better to do a mercy killing. Other than that, Iâm fighting tooth and nail to make sure they get through this with me.â
âYou for real??â One of the men closest to them, with spiked, pitch dark hair, scoffed, âYou really think you can keep a baby alive here? Put yourself first if you wanna live, lady!â
âCome on, donât say that!â The woman snapped back, before taking a breath and calming down, âHere, how about we start over and introduce ourselves?â
âThis could be a Hearts game, or the rules could state we need to kill each other,â The only other woman there, a stark, gothic contrast to the Mori girl aesthetic of the woman with the baby, stated coldly, âIâll pass.â
âOne minute until registration closes,â A calm, female voice suddenly came from all of their phones, startling the woman with the baby.
âHuh?â Taking out her phone, she looked it over, âGuess it speaks too⊠These are my least favorite part of this nightmare so far,â Then, she took note of the camera app, âOoh! Hey, wanna take a selfie?â
âYou want to⊠take a selfie with me?â The man sheâd arrived with questioned her, utterly befuddled by this woman.
âYeah, come on! This might be the last chance we ever get to take a good picture!â Moving in close, she held up the phone, making sure to get both them and the still sleeping baby in the shot, âAwesome! Thanks for indulging my possibly last request!â
âYou are way too chipper, lady,â A new man spoke as he walked up. Short cropped hair with designs buzzed into it and a mean face, this man screamed gangster. In reaction, the woman held the baby tighter.
âEntry has now closed,â The phones spoke again, âThere are a total of seven participants. Please proceed into the tunnel.â
âI just hope itâs not Spades⊠Iâm not very good at physical gamesâŠâ The man in the hat grumbled, causing the woman to raise an eyebrow as they walked into the tunnel. About 100 feet in, the woman suddenly stopped, âWhatâs the matter?â
âI hear somethingâŠâ Straining her ears for a moment, she suddenly looked up at the top of the tunnelâs entrance.
âWha?! What the hell?!â Just as the words left spiky haired manâs lips, a barrier fell from the ceiling, creating debris and, more importantly, blocking them in.
âUWAAAHHH!!!!â The baby had woken up due to the world shaking from the force of the barrierâs impact with the ground, only for the woman to pull out a pacifier from her purse and stick it in the infantâs mouth.
âThank goodness I thought to grab thatâŠâ
âW-Weâre trapped in??â Goth woman shouted, panic taking over, âBut that isnât the standard!!â
âGuess they really donât want us to be able to choose the cowardâs way out this gameâŠâ Gangster guy placed his hand on the wall.
âARGHH!!â Everyoneâs attention was directed to the man in the hat, who was sitting on the ground, blood gushing from his leg, âSome rubble⊠it went into my leg!!â
âOn no!!â The woman with the baby was the first to react, rushing over to him, âHold the baby, we need to wrap this up and restrict the blood flow!â
âO-OkayâŠ!â Carefully, he took the baby, doing his best not to shake as she took an extra baby blanket out of her bag and used it to create a makeshift cotton bandage.
As she worked, their phones chimed again- âThe game will now commence. Difficulty: Four of Clubs. Game: Runaway. Rule: Endure the four trials and reach the goal within the time limit. Clear condition: Reach the goal safely.â
âTrials? Goal? Whatâs it talking about?â The goth woman mumbled.
âIt looks like these are the trials itâs referring toâŠâ At a man in glasses words, everyone turned around and saw what he meant.
In the floor, walls, and ceiling were various doors and hatches. The first door was in a wall, marked âTrial One,â with a timer stating the lock released in fifteen minutes. Next to that, several round hatches labeled âTrial Twoâ were going to release in thirty minutes. Trial Threeâs vents in the ceiling were releasing in forty five, and Fourâs hatch on the floor was set to release in an hour.
Spiky haired man noticed a placard on the wall by Door One, and walked over to inspect it.
âThe distance to the goal is written here⊠But I canât read the most important part. DamnitâŠâ Sure enough, where the number should be, instead was worn down metal.
Looking down at the ground somberly, Glasses stated, âA conjecture⊠âRunawayâ means to flee⊠Something will come out of each of these four doors after a delay. Perhaps it means we should run towards the goal while running away? If the fourth lock opens after an hour, and we were to run for that amount of time, then the distance to the goal is around ten kilometersâŠâ
âTen??â
âGame⊠start.â
At that moment, the timers started counting down, and their phones switched to an hour long timer as well.
âTen kilometers in an hour is cutting it too close! We canât afford to waste a second!â With that, everyone save the woman with the baby and the man in the hat started running.
âCan you stand?â The woman asked him as she took the baby back, genuinely concerned about this stranger.
âWith help, I think I should be able toâŠâ
âHey, you lot! Care to help a lady out??â
âI make no promises that Iâll hold on to you till the endâŠâ The gangster helped lift the man to allow the woman to continue carrying the baby safely.
âThank you in the meantimeâŠâ The man got out through labored breaths as they walked.
Within the first five minutes, everyone reached a bus covered in graffiti, the first car they had seen since the game began. By the time the man, woman, and gangster got there, it seemed their fellow players had exhausted it.
âThereâs nothing here except junk, and itâs not going no matter how hard I hit the gas!!!â Spiky hair complained as glasses looked underneath the bus.
âThe belt is cut, thatâs why. Looks like this isnât meant to be our method of transportationâŠâ Getting up, he began running, âLooks like we have to run! We lost time here, so letâs hurry!â
âGaaah!! Iâm at my limit⊠Thereâs no way I could runâŠâ The man in the hat groaned, âDonât worry about me anymore, you all should hurry on aheadâŠâ
âBut-!â
âItâs like he says,â Goth woman cut off the other, âThe first trial is about to start⊠In order to survive in these Borderlands, sometimes we have to do callous things. If you donât learn that quick, you wonât be long for this world,â With that, she began running as well.
For a moment, the man, woman, and gangster didnât move, until the gangster helped the man over to the first step of the bus and set him down before walking away.
âYou too??â The woman angrily called out after him, âYouâre going to desert us??â
âI tried helping⊠But now, things have changedâŠâ He picked up speed, quickly catching up to the others.
âSelfish cowards!!â She yelled, shaking her fist at them. Sighing, she turned to the man, âGuess itâs just you and me, huh?â
âAre you sure? You should go run-â
âNuh uh. Iâve decided Iâm staying here, so Iâm staying here,â Scooting around him, the woman gently placed the baby into the dip of the driverâs seat before helping the man up and to a seat so he could prop up his leg, âLetâs seeâŠâ
âWhat are you doing?â He raised an eyebrow as he watched her go up and down the bus.
âIn order to slow the flow of blood more until we can get you help, we need to raise your leg. By doing that, the blood will- Here-â She took the baby and handed them to him again before looking around more, âThe blood wonât be able to pump up there as fast, and it should give us some wiggle room.â
âYou seem awfully knowledgeable about this. Are you perhaps a doctor?â
âHah, no, I just remember a lot. Picked this up from a medical book I read when I was sixteen for fun. Iâm actually a Masters student working towards simultaneous degrees in Psychology and Religion with a focus in cults,â Before the man could comment on how impressive that was, the woman sighed, âIâve found a Japanese to English dictionary, a space heater, a set of keys that turn on this motionless bus, and a gum wrapper, but nothing to prop up your leg,â Sitting in the chair across the row from him, the woman took the baby back and gently bounced it, âGuess weâll just have to wait and see what happensâŠâ
âIâm sorry Iâve dragged you down with meâŠâ
âNonsense!â She waved her hand dismissively, âIâm not much of a runner, and Iâve got this little angel to look after. Thereâs no way I could run to some mysterious goal even if I wanted to. BesidesâŠâ Her eyes shifted back and forth before leaning in and dropping her voice as though they were being watched, âSomething about this game is striking me as odd.â
âWhat do you mean?â The man leaned in as best as he could, voice dropping as well.
âBefore I tell you my theory, could you explain what exactly the card level of this game means? You said you hoped this game wasnât Spades because you werenât good at physical games, while the woman stated we shouldnât tell each other our names in case it was a Hearts game. That means the different suits represent different types of games, while the number represents how hard it is, right?â
âYou picked that up quickly. Most people donât realize that their first game, it generally takes someone explaining it to them their second or third game for them to get it,â Thinking for a moment, he nodded, âVery well, since weâre going to be here for at least an hour, Iâll tell you. Yes, the number on the card connotes how hard the game will be, with Ace being the easiest, while King is the hardest. As for the suits- Spades represent physical games, lots of moving around and exertion. Diamond games are intelligence and wit based games, and are the least physically demanding. If you were to find a game of Trivial Pursuit here, it would fall into that suit.â
âI see,â She sounded enraptured.
âHearts,â He paused, considering his words, âTheyâre psychological gamesâŠÂ They mess with your mind and your morals, and are widely regarded as the most brutal of the four suits. If possible, you do not want to join a Hearts game.â
âAnd Clubs?â
âClubs games like this one refer to team battles and a mix of the otherâs elements. Itâs an unofficial rule that there is always a total win scenario, that itâs possible for all participants to make it out alive.â
âThen that puts us at an advantage!â She nodded decisively, âIf Clubs are a team battle, then by sticking together, we have a better chance at survival!â
âBut weâre just sitting in a bus?â
âLook mister, Iâm trying to remain positive here, so if you could work with me a little?â
âAlright, alright,â The man put his hands up, chuckling. From the sound of it, it was an unfamiliar noise to come from his mouth, âWeâre at an advantage because we stuck together while the others are only thinking of themselves.â
âThatâs the spirit!â She held out her hand for a fist bump, which the man would have returned, had it not been for the bus suddenly lurching forward, âThe hell??â
âUWAAHHH!!!â The motion woke up the baby again, but neither the man or the woman had time to calm them down again, as water was quickly rising around their enclosure and leaking in through some gaps in the windows.
âOh no, you take Yuuji, Iâll stop the water!â Handing the baby to the man, the woman began to shed layers of clothes, using her jacket, cardigan, tights to plug the gaps. In the end, she was left in just a camisole and her torn up skirt, having even used parts of that to slow the water, âThere, that should keep us relatively dry as long as the water goes down soon.â
âYou called the child âYuuji,ââ The man commented, a bit surprised.
âHuh? I did, didnât I?â Laughing sheepishly, the woman sat back down, âDonât know why, theyâre not my kid. I donât even know if theyâre male or female.â
âWell, I suppose they do look like a Yuuji,â He looked down at where he was bouncing the slightly calmer baby on his shoulder, âCan I ask why you chose to take this baby with you? You even grabbed their diaper bag.â
âGuess I felt bad about them being abandoned by their parents,â She shrugged, âSomething just told me I needed to hold onto them and protect them; which makes no sense, given that itâs not like I grew up with great parental role models.â
âMaybe you just possess a natural maternal instinct, bad parents or not.â
âWho knows? Maybe youâre right.â
For several minutes, neither of them said anything as the man calmed down the baby, lulling them back to sleep.
âIt seems as though the water is going down,â The man finally commented, the woman looking out the window to see that they were no longer surrounded.
âYeah, but now it seems like the temperature is dropping fast!â The woman was right, the air was indeed getting colder, âIâll go turn on that space heater before Yuuji wakes up again!â
âSounds good to me.â
With the space heater on, the bus quickly warmed back up, keeping the baby asleep in the manâs arms.
âThis cold must be the⊠how much time has passed?â Looking at her phoneâs timer, the woman's brow furrowed, âForty five minutes?? When the heck did the first trial happen??â
âWe must have missed it somehow while we were talking.â
âWeird. Maybe it just passed right by us,â The woman didnât let it bother her too much, just grateful to have not had to deal with it. Silence passed for a few more minutes as the woman held the baby, before she spoke again, âOkay, somethingâs been on my mind for the last half an hour, and I gotta know before we die⊠You were totally faking your personality when we got here, right?â
âH-Huh??â The manâs eyes widened, and he could feel his pulse quicken.
âActing timid and stuff. Fake, right?â
âI⊠IâŠâ Sighing, he looked her in the eyes, âHowâd you know?â
âI sorta guessed around the time you told me about the suits. Your speech pattern started getting more eloquent, your sentences became longer, and you didnât bat an eye at the fact that Iâm working towards two Masters degrees at the same time. That last thing doesnât really have to do with the timid thing, but it did tell me that youâre smarter than you seemed. That accident with your leg was very real, something you didnât account for that truly did leave you near helpless; but before that, it was all strategy so weâd underestimate you in case this turned out to be a single winner game.â
âThatâs⊠phenomenally impressive,â He stared at her in awe, âWhy didnât you say anything sooner?â
âBecause Iâve been having fun talking with you and didnât want to make it awkward,â Laughing, she shrugged, âBut my natural curiosity got the better of me. I want to die with as few regrets as possible, and Iâd regret not getting to see your actual personality,â Tears welled up in her eyes, and she kissed the top of the babyâs head, âI hope however this ends is clean and painless. I doubt it would happen, but if my family were to ever find my body, I wouldnât want their last image of me to be tainted by something like decapitation, yâknow?â
âYes, I⊠I understand,â Moving closer, the man took the womanâs hand and squeezed it gently, âI promise you, if we survive this, Iâll do whatever I can to help you survive long enough to reunite with your family.â
âAww, thanks,â She smiled sadly at him, âThat means a lot. Youâre a really nice guy, even if you are a crafty strategist.â
âI-â
KABOOM!!!!
An explosion violently shook the bus, causing the baby to once again wake up and cry.
âQuickly, on the ground!â The man pulled the woman and baby into his arms and got on the ground, shielding them with his body as the bus continued to shake. It seemed to go on forever, the shaking, as the bus grew warmer and warmer, far warmer than the heat the space heater would have been able to produce. But, finally, the shaking did stop, and the world became quiet outside of the babyâs cries, âAre you two alright?â
âY-Yeah, I think so,â After she was helped up by the man, the woman grabbed the babyâs pacifier and returned it to their mouth, âThat was the fourth trial, right?â
âI believe so,â He nodded, looking out the window, âAll I can see are scorch marks, so I canât tell, though.â
A little fanfare like tune emitting from their phones answered them, however.
âGame clear. Congratulations! To the survivors of the game, we will now supply you with a Visa.â
âG-Game clear?â The womanâs eyes widened in surprise, âYou mean⊠we won? But that would meanâŠâ Handing the baby to the man, she threw open the door to the bus and hopped out, running around the bus, almost immediately spotting the confirmation she sought, âThe goal⊠It was the busâŠâ
âIt was the bus??â The man limped out of the bus, handing the woman the baby due to feeling shaky as he saw what sheâd found, âThe graffiti⊠G-O-A-L⊠Dear lordâŠâ
âYour injury saved us,â Tears flowed down the womanâs cheeks as she suddenly hugged the man, laughing almost manically, âIt saved us! I donât normally believe in luck, but tonight I think Iâll make an exception!â
âI canât believe it, though! You were right!â The man laughed as well, âWe stuck together as a team instead of only thinking of ourselves, and we survived!â
âWait- oh no!â Pulling away, the woman frowned, âThose poor people that ran on ahead!! They⊠If the trials didnât kill them, then⊠what did?â
âAnyone who breaks a rule like leaving an arena before the game is over or doesnât achieve game clear⊠Theyâre struck down by a laser from the skyâŠâ His words cause the woman to gasp, a hand covering her mouth, âI hope for their sake, their deaths were as clean and painless as the one you had wished forâŠâ
Taking his hand, she squeezed it gently, âIâll carry their memories with me, and push forward. As ill as they treated us, I can only hope that wherever they are, they find peace.â
âYouâre an incredibly kind woman, MissâŠ?â
âOh wow, we never did introduce ourselves, huh? If weâre gonna be sticking together, we should probably at least know the otherâs name,â Wiping away her tears, she laughed, âMy name is Y/N L/N, Y/A years old, Masters student, and guardian of this little angel until further notice. Itâs nice to meet you, MisterâŠ?â
âKuzuryuu. Keiichi Kuzuryuu, 37 years old, attorney at law, and Diamond Specialist here in the Borderlands. Itâs a pleasure to meet you as well, Miss L/N.â
âPlease, we just nearly died together! You can call me Y/N. Mind if I call you Kuzu?â She looked at him so hopefully that he couldnât find it in himself to refuse her.
âAlright, you may call me âKuzuâ⊠Y/N.â
âExcellent! Now letâs get out of this place! Iâm tired and we need to get you off that leg.â
âI believe I saw a furniture store near here that we could use as shelter before finding something better tomorrow,â He offered as she helped him limp out of the tunnel, the barrier to the outside having been blown off in the explosion.
âPerfect, letâs go there. Thereâs some supplies to take care of Yuuji in this diaper bag I grabbed, but weâll need to find some more tomorrow as well.â
âSounds good to me.â
An hour later, as Y/N and Yuuji slept soundly in one of the spacious beds on display in the furniture store, Kuzuryuu stood outside and pulled out a walkie talkie.
âHQ, please respond. This is Four of Clubâs observer, Kuzuryuu,â Taking off his hat, he pushed back his hair and slipped on his glasses, âSurviving players- two of six. Dispatch the cleanup squad to deal with the disposal of tools and materials.â
âCopy that, sir. Anything else?â
âYes⊠Tell the others I wonât be back for a while,â He looked back through the doors to where Y/N and Yuuji slept, a small smile on his lips, âI have a player Iâd like to place my bets on.â

Yandere Pillar men x reader who doesn't want their baby
A/N: What would happen if the pillar men made their mate have a baby that they didn't want and their mate didn't want anything to do with the baby. Like they won't breastfeed, look, talk, or hold the baby.
WARNING!!!! :Forced pregnancy, slight child neglect , abuse(On wamuu's part), Suicide attempt (santana's part) This is kinda sad and depressing, so I'm sorry in advance. My next few posts will be wholesome
Kars
He will not tolerate any disrespect to his newborn even if you are the mother. During your pregnancy, he tolerated you not wanting to touch your stomach or look at it, but he thought that after the little one was born, you would have changed. oh boy was he wrong.
When he held up the baby for you to look at them and for the new baby to feed on your milk, you closed your eyes and turned your head and body away from the two of them. "You dare turn your body away from me and our child? The life we made together." "You wanted the baby, I didn't." You said as tears stream down your face.
If he was actually kind to you and didn't force you to have a baby, then maybe, just maybe, you would be a little happier about the situation.
As you wish, you could just slip into a deep sleep, he grabbed you with his free hand and turned you to face him. You kept your eyes closed as you didn't want to look at both of them. It was silent and you didn't hear him say or do anything as he put his hand on your head and then everything went black.
He didn't kill, you made you pass out for a little bit while he could let his little one have their milk in peace. He was very disappointed in you, but he knows you will come around sooner or later. Even if he has to make you pass out every time until you understand.
Esidisi
He was in tears when you refuse to hold the life you two created. He tried to put the baby into your arms only for you to move away from him. " Darling... the baby needs their mother." He said as the baby started to cry. "I will not hold that thing. I didn't want it." You said moving further away from him.
This only sent him into a silent rage. He put the wailing infant on the bed and started to walk slowly towards you. He understands maybe you weren't prepared for a baby, but this was the ultimate gift for both of your love. You should be happy that someone like him decided to give you his seed.
As he walked towards you he showed his boiling veins as they leaked a small amount of blood. This was the only way he could get you to do as he said. He wrapped the veins around your arm and raised his temperature, it wasn't hot enough to burn your skin off, but it is going to leave a nasty mark. He told you that you are going to take care and love the baby either you like it or not.
He pulled you back to where the baby laid still crying as he forced you to sit by the baby. He picked up the baby and put them in your arms. You didn't even want to look at the small bundle in your arms. You had a plan to escape from this hell hole, but now there is no way away you are leaving now.
Wamuu
He was heartbroken that you didn't want the baby, but he also understood that you were not totally prepared for one either. However, he expected you to at least warm up to the baby a little bit by now. "Y/n the baby is hungry again." He said holding the whining infant as they made grabby hands at you. "Then I guess YOU should feed them." You said not even glance away from your book. He sighed as he goes to a shelf and grabs a bottle he already had prepared and gave it to the baby.
This can not continue. A baby needs a mother and a father to have a good balance relationship. And he is the only one who is putting his energy into the little. Since they were born, he has done everything, hell, he even named the little one. You haven't touched or held the baby and Wamuu refuses to force you hold the baby because he is scared that you would drop the baby on purpose or something.
He has address his concerns to Kars, who just told him to beat you into submission...but surely he couldn't do that. Not to his beloved mate. Well...he thought he couldn't at least, but that all chanced one day.
He was out training near the house and he left the baby in their crib because he knew even though you didn't want them, you wouldn't harm them in the slightest. That's what he thought anyways...
As he was training, he heard a blood curdling scream from the baby. Thinking the worse had happen, he ran quickly into the house and up the stairs, only to find you sleeping peaceful and the baby on the floor near their crib with a bruise forming on their head. He quickly picked them up and went to Kars so he could give them a check up to make sure nothing was broken or injured.
While Kars was busy while the wailing infant, Wamuu marched back down to the room and roughly woke you up. You could barely understand what he was saying as he yelled and shook you, but what you could understand is that the baby fell from the crib. You rolled your eyes as you tried to stand your ground by telling him that, that had nothing to do with you and if he was really concern for that baby's health, then he would have took them outside with them.
That's when he snapped. He slapped you hard across the face making you fall to the ground, holding your bloody cheek. You tried to get away from him, but he grabbed your foot and dragged you back to him. He then continued to slap and hit you while he degraded you into a bloody mess. After about five minutes, he stopped and lifted you off the ground and onto the bed.
As he was cleaning you off, he told you that if you didn't start caring or at least acting like you far for the life you both have created he would beat you even worse. From that day on, he made you hold and feed the baby while he was around. Kars was proud of him because he was finally acting like an adult, but Wamuu was the least happy about it. He was upset that he went that far on you...but at least he was getting the happy family he wanted right...
Santana
He sighed as he looked at you sitting motionless by a window. That's where you would always be. Every since you both find out that you were going to have a baby. Santana was very excited about because he was going to have something none of the other pillar men had and because he was curious about the baby would look. Would they have his horns or rib bones? Would they be able to understand stuff easily like him? Who's hair or eye color would they have? Some many question filled his mind as he thought about your child.
However you were far from excited. You barely liked him, you weren't ready for a child or anything for that matter. You tried to tell him how you felt about it, but he didn't care. "No...y-you are having a b-baby." He told you as you tried to voice your opinion for the fifth time today.
Your pregnancy was anything but smooth. Santana was trying a please you as much as he could, but you were being very stubborn. Any food that he brought you, you would just put into the trash can as soon as he left. He didn't even catch on to this until he saw how skinny and fragile you were becoming. Not wanting you to be to stressed, he scowled you lightly as he brought you some more food, but this time he fed into you, which was another battle. However as you were getting closer to your due date, it got harder and harder to fight against him...so you didn't. You let him feed you, help you around, and even cuddle you. Santana was very happy. He thought you were finally seeing it his way. Oh but how wrong was he.
As soon as the baby was born you did not want to look or hold them. The only thing you did was put your hands over your ears to try and drown out the cries of the little one. You did this until you passed out. This is when santana let the baby nurse from you. This was the only time the baby could nurse in peace. Many times Santana would have to knock you out so the baby could feed in peace without listening to your high pitch cries.
Even though he could see it, all of this was taken a tole on you mental and physically. One day, as Santana was out hunting you slowly went to the window and sat down by it. It's been so long since you have been outside that you almost for forgot what it look like....what it felt like. You opened the window, feeling the light breeze on your face. You could almost feel the sun on your skin, you wanted to feel it again. You wanted peace and happiness and you were intending to get it. You through your legs over the side of the window along with the rest of your body. As you were falling, you couldn't help but smile as you thought you were finally free. However that thought was short lived as you feel right into the arms of your "mate".
He didn't say anything as he walked you back up stairs as you also stayed silent. If he knew that this was the kind of reaction you were going to have from doing what your body is designed to do, he would have waited til you were fully submissive or at least until you accepted him as he mate.
He didn't hit or yell at you, he just out you in the bed and kissed you on your cheek. You are not the one he fell in love with a year ago. You are only the shell of them, but don't worry. He intends on making things right. He will make sure his family is happy...no matter what.

The Spy.
*yawn* Morning everyone.
Morninâ
Good morning Mikihiko.
Moring Koyasunaga. Are you well?
Yeah, as well as I can be I guess.
*Mikihiko in the âliving roomâ of the Zetsubou base, goes to the refrigerator to get a snack.
...So...whatâs the latest news? Any updates on our informant?
...?
Nah, nothinâ yet. Been eagerly scrolling through our databases for any kinda message. Remember, it was discreet last time.
Yes, and thank goodness we found it.
Iâd like to remind you that IâM the one who found it, so yeah, give me at least a little bit oâ the credit.
Sure Junko.
Wait, what are we talking about?
*Ahem* Nagito? Itâs your move.
Oh! Right! Sorry.
Hm...I find it a little bit concerning that youâre doing so well against me. Surely this isnât a result of luck alone?
Well, I DO have Ultimate Gambler abilities now too, remember?
Ah yes of course. Iâd completely forgotten. Guess Iâd better step up my game a little.
*Akira lays across the sofa with his PC on his lap. Nagito and Celeste sit at a coffee table playing shogi together. Yukari types away at a computer with the back of her neck plugged into it, likely debugging her chip software.
Oho! Nice~
*Mikihiko reaches into the refrigerator and grabs a frozen crepe. He closes the door and goes to sit down.
...!
...
*He turns around however to find the little Narumi in his face.
Ooooh! I forgot we had those desserts! Dang, my tummy is a rumbly right now!
Is that so? In that case, do you want it?
Wait, for real!?
No, not for real. You know full well heâs not gonna give it to you.
Come on now Yukari, heâs not THAT much of a dick.
Um...Yes! He is!
Alrighty. Open wide~
Aaaaah-
*Narumi opens her mouth ready to recieve the crepe, but Mikihiko suddenly snatches it and stuffs his face.
Gahaha! Suckaah!
Câmon man!Â
*Narumi then pounces at him.
Spit it out! Thatâs MY crepe!
Never! AHAHA OW!
*sigh* Animals...the lot of you...
*Tsumugi enters and rolls her eyes at the scene.
Oh! Guys! Cut that out, we got some juice!
...?
*The two immediately stop fighting, and everyone stops what theyâre doing to gather round in a circle. Akira types away at his laptop.
Ok, seriously. Are any of you going to tell me whatâs going on?
With all due respect, if weâre going to work together, then Iâm going to need to be clued in on all the operations and proceedings, alright?
Ah, sorry Nagito. I had assumed Narumi had keyed you in.
I would have...but then SOMEONE stole my crepe!
Hey, IâM the one who picked it out of the fridge. It was never yours to begin with.
Can you two stop acting like infants for at least 4 seconds?
Anyway, in summary, what weâre doing is waiting for another message from our undercover helper, thatâs what Akiraâs been looking for.
Undercover...helper...
Wait, but...wasnât Celeste-?
Thatâs what I was about to say. I thought I was the Zetsubou Agent you smuggled inside the Future Foundation.
Are you telling me you had someone else alongside me?
Well...
Yes...
But actually no...
What?
Sorry, what does that mean?
Itâs like this, see. Tae was the only person that WE had sell us the Foundation secrets.Â
But there is another guy in there. the thing is, they donât work for us and...we donât even know who they are.
Quite. Whoever it is is sending us these secrets entirely of their own accord.
Thatâs...If I may be honest, donât you find that a little sketchy?
Indeed. How do you know theyâre not trying to trick us?
Because the last piece of information they gave us was surprisingly accurate. Iâll admit, we were suspicious when we received their first encoded message, but we figured it was worth taking a look.
Now, itâs thanks to that person we were successfully able to secure two of our targets.
Hold on...youâre saying this person told you the location of the training camp? Where you caught Harukawa and Yumeno.
Exactly. AND they told us the route the FF were using to transport Taeko to the courthouses.
Weâre still cautious of course, but weâve decided to give our source some credit for that info at least.
I see...In which case, whatâve they got now.
From what I can tell...nothing great...
In what regard?
According to the source, itâs in regards to your old pals Nagito. The Remnants.
...!
And...what are the Remnants doing?
Let me read what their message said.
*Akira begins to read the encoded message.
âEarlier today, I caught Koizumi, Kuzuryu, the Imposter and Saionji locating your machine. From what I can gather, theyâve either found, or are looking for a way to shut it down permanently.â
âIn relation to this, I regret to inform you, but I think the Future Foundation have caught onto me, and by now, they more than likely know I have reached out to you. As a result, theyâve increased their efforts, and are likely going after the machine ASAP.â
âIf you donât want to see your work get ruined right here and now, then I suggest you make your move. Iâll be in touch, and hopefully next time, Iâll show you my real face. Good luck.â
...
Great! It sure didnât take the Future Foundation long to try and fight back, despite everything.
Hey. We should go, right?
I already have Monokumaâs guarding the area, but against the remnants, it may not be enough. I suggest we-
...
Nagito?
*Nagito suddenly stands up.
Shirogane. Please, allow me.
What do you mean?
Iâm more than capable of taking them all down by myself with the power youâve given me. Furthermore, Iâm the only one who has the power to defeat Hajime, no?
Youâre free to increase security around the machine, but when it comes to my old friends, leave them to me. The rest of you can stay here.
And what if you get captured?
I...Well...
Wait for me to get back I guess. They canât hold me forever, thatâs for sure.
I dunno...I donât know if I like this plan.
I must agree. You may have been able to help on Jabberwock Island, but I remember you had a pretty bad headache afterwards.Â
Of course, I intend to consult the good doctor upstairs for some pain relievers.Â
But seriously. I insist upon this.
But-
Narumi.
...?
Try to understand how he feels, ok? This is important to him.
He wants to show his old classmates just how far his Hope and dedication has taken him. You can get behind that, right?
Ugh...I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...
Iâm right though, arenât I Komaeda?
Well...yes. I wouldnât have put it any differently myself.
I...well...alright. But Iâm worried about you.
Thank you. Iâm lucky to have you as a friend, but I assure you Iâll be fine.
Besides, if there really is a secret agent on our side in the FF, I think theyâll find a way to get me out. At least I hope they do.Â
*Nagito then begins to leave the room.
Like I said, Iâll consult the good doctor, and then Iâll be on my way.
We have to get to the machine before they do, right?
Yes. Good luck. Weâre counting on you.
Yes. I know.
(It feels weird to feel depended on...)
(But...itâs not a BAD feeling at all...)

Self Indulgent Shigaraki Nonsense Part 5
Tomura Shigaraki x pregnant!reader
A/N: Oh wow part 5 and I'm still not done with this.
Warnings: Emotions? Cursing?
You tossed and turned in your sleep, groaning and moaning in frustration. Your joint ached, and fatigue plagued your body. You tried everything you could to get to sleep but nothing was working and on top of your aching body, the nearly fully developed fetus in you thought now was the perfect time for exercise.
Tomura laid beside you, having fallen asleep hours ago. But your movement and sounds of anguish gently woke him up. Groggy and a little frustrated he looked over his shoulder to see your upset form shift back and forth.
"Is it the baby?" He asked in a low, hoarse voice. You huffed.
"Everything hurts and they keep moving around and I'm exhausted but I can't fall asleep!" You cried. You felt silly crying like this to Tomura, you felt like a little kid throwing a tantrum. Weren't you supposed to be the mild mannered, mature and wise mother?
Tomura turned over to face you, his gloved hand reaching out and planting firmly on your enlarged belly. He gently ran circles around it, trying to sooth the mysterious being inside. He had grown used to this routine, grown used to the idea of you being pregnant. But the idea of being father and actually having a baby was still out of his reach. For now, he was content to have you tucked away and all to himself where he knew you would be safe.
"My fucking BONES hurt." You complained as you rubbed circles into your eyes. He chuckled at your declaration for a moment before wrenching himself from the bed and shuffling into the kitchen where you could hear him rustling about. You laid there and closed your eyes, trying to emulate the soothing sensation of rubbing circles across your belly. They clearly liked it better when Tomura did it. You didn't even know how they knew the difference.
"Here." Tomura entered the room with a hot cup of tea in hand. He sat it down on your bedside table as you struggled to sit up properly. You laid against the head board and slowly took the mug. "Careful. It's still hot." He noted, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Thank you."
"Mhm." He watched you blow and sip on the tea, running his gloved hand up and down your calf.
"This is new." You scoffed.
"What?"
"You taking care of me." You smiled.
"What are you talking about? I've taken care of you before. Remember Jaku?"
"Ugh, I don't want to." You cringed. A particularly rough battle had left you broken and beaten black and blue. If it wasn't for Tomura, you would have been dead. But that was before you knew he loved you. Before you knew you loved him. "You're right you have taken care of me. But not like this before." Your smiled made him blush.
"This is a different situation." He explained. You chuckled.
"I know." You finished your tea and he took it from you to put the mug in the kitchen sink. But before he left the room you called to him. "Hey...Tomura?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you."
"Sure."
"No. Really. Thank you. For everything." He watched you for a moment, engraving that sweet smile of yours into his brain forever. Before nodding and walking back to the kitchen. You adjusted yourself, laying back down and watching him come back in and lay in bed. You watched him, your hand reaching up to gently scratch down his bare back. A comforting gesture he loves but will never out right ask for. It put him to sleep quick, and soon you followed him.
When you woke up the next morning, you found yourself alone in bed. You struggled to get up to use the bathroom and wash your face before waddling into the kitchen. A note had been placed over wads of cash on the kitchen counter. The note read:
I'm sorry there was an emergency and I had to leave early this morning. I left money on the counter for breakfast. Take it easy. I'll see you soon. I love you.
- Tomura
Money for breakfast? You looked down at the wads of 20 dollar bills and giggled. Tomura still had very little grasp when it came to money. He just never had to really worry about it. It's not that he wasn't good at budgeting or math, but, this was enough to pay the mortgage and groceries for the rest of the month. Some breakfast you'd be having. You took the cash and put it away where the rest of it went. You were to pay for everything in cash. The mortgage, the car payments, groceries, furniture, absolutely everything. As if that didn't make you look suspicious enough. But Tomura insisted on it because it wouldn't leave a paper trail to your name.
Your new name would have no debt no credit, nothing. It had to be perfect and unremarkable.
You fed, washed, and clothed yourself which took all morning now but finally you made up your mind to take a short walk to the local grocery store and do some shopping. Normal house wife shit, right?
So you waddled your fat ass out the door to take a leisurely stroll all the way to the super market. You looked up and watched grey clouds gently float above, bringing a cool breeze and the faint smell of rain in the air. You made it to the store before it started to sprinkle. The bright and fresh atmosphere of the store made you uneasy. Public spaces still made you feel out of place. Suspicious. Like you still had to hide.
You paused in the middle of an aisle, sudden movement stopping you dead in your tracks. The baby had been moving less, and the false contractions had started. Your midwife had taught you that this was normal, you still weren't due for a while longer, there was no need to worry. But they were a big pain in the ass.
You held your belly and took a deep breath. It soon passed and you went back to searching for your grocery list.
"First one?" A voice asked. You turned and found a young woman standing there pushing a stroller. She gave a friendly smile.
"Oh, yes."
"How exciting. I had a lot of false contractions with my first too. How far along are you?"
"I guess about, eight months. Give or take a week or two."
"You sure look it. I'm kim by the way, nice to meet you." She held out a hand and you shook it. Her bright smile and relaxed attitude bring comfort and warmth. You looked down to the stroller, an infant cradled towards Kim, and an absent-minded toddler glaring at the floor sat in the front. He angrily pouted at the ground, before his gaze slowly came up to you.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/-...." fuck! What was your new name again? You almost blew your cover. "Ota." You remembered. Thank God.
"Your the new family down the road aren't you?" Kim nodded in recognition.
"Yeah, yeah. How long have you lived here?" You tried to make conversation.
"Oh I've lived here all my life."
"Wow."
"Yeah my husband and I met in high school here and been together ever since. He travels for work now though, so,"
"My husband travels too." You told her. Shit. Was that the right thing to say? Could you really call Shigaraki your, husband? What would he think about that? He'd probably be irritated you even bothered to socialize at all.
"Oh really? What does he do?" You paused.
"Uh, he works closely with heroes." You croaked.
"Oh like management er' whatever?" She was so nonchalant.
"Yeah, yeah. Real boring stuff." You agreed. 'Er' whatever' what a great way to put it.
"Yeah mine's a lawyer for cities suffering from 'big hero blow-outs' they call em'. He works with cities about destruction of public property and what not. I don't really know the details or anything but hey, maybe our guys have crossed paths a couple times! What did you say his name was?" Shit. Shit. Shit.
"Uh, Ota. Ota Kurai." You lied.
"Kurai...huh..." Kim thought for a moment, taking in a deep breath and sighing. "Well, that doesn't ring any bells. How long have you been together." Was this something you were supposed to lie about?
"Five years now, I think." You pondered.
"You think?" She chuckled at you.
"Yeah, it's hard to remember sometimes. All of a sudden we went from friends to more. Its difficult to explain." She smiled.
"Yeah, I understand. Well, I better be off. The boys need a nap before lunch. It was lovely meeting you, Ota."
"Likewise!" You smiled back.
"See you around."
"See ya." And with you that you went on shopping, a successful venture. You were lucky you were able to purchase an umbrella in the store, it was really coming down now. You waddled along the sidewalk, making your way back to the stretch of suburbs you occupied. As you walked the final stretch to your home, the wind began to pick up. Violently wrenching the umbrella out of your hand and throwing it behind you. You turned, panicked and now vulnerable to the heavy rain. It came down fast and hard, the droplets almost painful on your skin.
You turned around to find your umbrella flying through the air, tumbling over to a distant figure. A young man, no, a teenager. The kid snapped to attention, jogging for the object from under his own umbrella and quickly making his way back to you. You tensed up, the weight of your groceries, the rain, your condition. Clearly you were in distress. You cursed yourself. You were once a feared villain. You fought the greatest heroes Japan had to offer and lived to tell the tale. You were an activist, pioneer, warrior, leader. You had the scars to prove it. And now look at you. A helpless, pregnant house wife.
"Here miss!" The boy called. You sniffed and reached for it as he handed it to you.
"Thanks!" You barked, trying to shuffled off without anymore talk.
"Let me help you with that!" He insisted, taking your groceries from you and shielding you from anymore rain. You were soaked by now. You couldn't argue, he insisted and you had to admit that the help was nice. He walked you home, standing and waiting at your house's gate as you took back your bags from him.
"Thank you for your help." You tried to be polite.
"Sure thing miss. No trouble. Are you sure you got it?"
"Yes. Thank you." You insisted, turning back to disappear into your home. Only to find the front door open. You let out a startled gasp. A familiar figure stood in the doorway, dark eyes glaring at the boy behind you. Your eyes shuffled back and forth between him and the boy. Shigaraki wore a painfully mediocre disguise. A face mask, and a black wig. From far away he easily blended into a crowd. He was always good at hiding himself in a strange way. He was an oddly good actor.
"Sara. You should be more careful." He barked your fake name in a fake tone. Like he was a concerned husband.
"Sorry Kurai, I didn't think the storm would get this bad." You chuckled in a panic. He approached you, averting his gaze from the boy. Hiding his face and taking the bags from you. You turned back to the boy who's eye shifted from Shigaraki then back to you. "Thank you for your help. Here." You shuffled around in your purse before handing him a few hundred yen.
"Oh no Mrs, really it's fine."
"No. I insist." You huffed with a smile.
"Thank you. My names Sato by the way, I live just down the road."
"Nice meeting you Sato." You smiled and closed the gate before waddling back inside. You closed the door behind you, panting as you recovered from your adventure.
You watched Tomura remove his disguise in a frustrated huff before putting the groceries away. You leaned against the wall after shuffling into the kitchen, leaving water to fall from you and pool on the wood floor. Soon he turned to look back at you.
"I thought there was an emergency."
"False alarm." He muttered.
"Are you mad at me?" You asked. He paused and gave a frustrated huff.
"...I told you not to get friendly with people. That puts you in danger." You scoffed. "You're soaking wet, you better shower off before you catch a cold."
"I didn't have a choice, okay? It's not like I sought out his help! He was just there, he insisted he help! And yknow what, I can't say I didn't need it. Because I'm incapable of doing anything apparently!" You shouted. Oh shit. He angered you. You could see it in his eyes. He hates it when you get angry, it makes him uneasy. "And I'm a walking beacon of chit chat too! Everyone wants to talk to the new pregnant lady. Last week, I had fend off like four old ladies from touching my belly. And the week before that, the clerk at the bookstore kept trying to sell me these weirdly religious parenting books. And- And today even! Today some other mom stopped me to talk about my false contractions at the store and I almost forgot our names and I- I-" You're crying now. He hates seeing you crying more than he hates seeing you angry. He slowly approached you, watching as you sniffled and sobbed and wipped away your tears.
"Come on, let's get you comfortable." He guided you to the bathroom to help bathe you in a warm bath to calm your nerves and ease your aching body. You shuffled out into the living room, the warmth of your pajamas easing your tense feelings.
"She wasn't that bad." You mumbled.
"Hm?"
"The other mom at the grocery store today. She was actually nice. She has two boys. She was really chill."
"Mh."
"I told her you worked in management with heroes and you travel a lot." You chuckled to yourself. "Her husband works as a lawyer for cities regarding damage from heroes. She said you might have crossed paths." Tomura pause and flashed a goofy smile.
"You never know. Maybe we have." He joked. You laughed for a moment before finishing your bath and getting changed.
"How come you came back?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well usually you stay away. But you've been here so long I figured you'd have left by now so you don't take any chances getting caught. Why'd you come back?" Tomura starred at your stomach and placed his gloved hand over it before looking up at you.
"I'm just finishing a few preparations. But I've made plans so that I'll be able to stay longer than I usually do." He didn't answer your question.
"Plans? Like what?"
"Don't worry about it."
"Don't tell me you put Dabi in charge." He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Toga? No!... Spinner!?"
"Y/N. Please." He begged.
"Sorry. But you never leave someone else in charge."
"Well now I have a reason. I'm...I'm taking a few months."
"What? But what about your work?"
"I'm not quiting. I'm still the true ruler. It's just a small...vacation. I can go back at any time if an emergency occurs. But for now, I'm staying here."
"You really miss me, don't you?" He pulled his hand away and rolled his eyes one more time before strolling away.
"Of course I miss you." He said it like it was a well known fact. "I miss you every second. I miss working with you. It's so frustrating without you. You understand, you got it. You always knew what needed to be done, what I was trying to do. Now it's like herding cats to get the simplest of tasks done sometimes. I mean you- you were always one step ahead. Half the time I didn't even need to ask you to do something you were already there. You were so smart and cunning and strong."
"And now I'm just a housewife..." He slowly turned to look at you. "I'm just the knocked up mistress you gotta hide."
"No. You know that's not what I meant."
"It's how you make me feel."
"Y/N..."
"I miss it too, y'know. Working with you, with everyone. I miss doing something that actually matters. I miss the planning, and the training, and the fighting. I miss it all. And now look at me. I couldn't even fucking walk home from the grocery store without needing to be rescued. It sucks, it really sucks. I know I chose this life. I know I chose...." Your hand hovered over you belly. "But I just...I just..." You're crying again.
Tomura places a hand on your back and hold you close and the other to stroke your hair in an attempt to calm you again. You clung to him, rocking the two of you back and forth.
"I know. I know." He whispered.
"I just wanted...wanted to be happy. Like how- normal people are happy." You cried.
"I know."
"And I am- I am happy I just... I miss working so much. And I miss seeing everyone and seeing you and fighting heroes and just...I even miss negotiations!" You sobbed. Tomura couldn't help but flash a smile.
"I know. I'm sorry." Your crying started to subside for a moment. Giving him the opportunity to plant a kiss on your cheek.
"Tomura?"
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you." He nodded and placed his hand on your belly once more.
"So you'll be here for it?"
"Yes I'll be here." You smiled.
"Thank you."
"Don't thank me. It's the bare minimum."

Take my trash! I forget where I put the actual requests for this one, but I have had many from both Wattpad and Tumblr for this next installment of 28 years.
Here you have it, pregnant with Alluka!
Warning; ANGST, mentions of adult themes from 28 years, pregnancy complications, cute moments with infant Killua and Alluka, Killua is the unsung hero we never knew we needed, maternal struggles, lactating
You woke up late at night, feeling your stomach rolling in pain and that feeling of being sick rising up in your throat. You were quick to wiggle out of Silva's relaxed grip and immediately headded directly for the toilet, almost gagging as you went.
To say it was an unpleasant way to wake up would be an understatement, as if you body were rejecting everything you had ever given it. You were faintly aware of the feeling of someone holding your hair away from your face as your poor body shook with great force. Once you finally felt your stomach settle once more you pulled away, feeling a large hand gently rub your back.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know... Just felt so sick so suddenly... You don't think it could be- but I thought I wasn't able to after Killua... And it's so soon after..."
"I doubt you're pregnant again."
"... And if I am?"
"(Y/n), I refuse to lose you for any reason. You almost killed yourself being pregnant with Killua. I don't think your body can honestly handle another pregnancy so soon."
"But..."
"If you are pregnant again, your body will likely reject it or you'll lose the child early on. You know this. You're already in such a delicate state when you're pregnant, adding another one so soon after giving birth would be the worst decision."
"I... You're right. I don't think I can handle it again so soon."
Silva almost seemed pleased at your agreeing with him, grabbing mouthwash for you to get the terrible after-taste out of your mouth. He gently helped you to your feet and held you steady, making sure you were alright minus the sudden sickness.
You didn't want to admit he was right, but you knew it to be true. Your body already tries to reject any pregnancy you have and with how exhausted and beaten you feel after having Killua, you couldn't imagine going through it again immediately after. You would have to do everything you could to cancel the pregnancy early on, before you felt too attached to the life growing inside of you.
A soft whimper came from the room you had been sleeping in just moments ago, hearing the whine develop into an upset cry. All of the noise and movement must have woken Killua from his peaceful sleep. He was only a month old and you still had more time to cherish him before he would be taken away to be trained as your other sons had been.
You made sure to move quietly and gently, lifting the small boy from his crib and cuddling him securely in your arms. His whimpers quieted as you held him, slowly swaying ans humming to the small child to get him settled once more. His bright blue eyes blinked open to look at you as he stopped crying, his soft white hair ruffled slightly and just made him look cuter with his disgruntled expression.
"Shh, little one. You're okay. You look just like your father when you frown like that..."
The infant merely gave a tired grunt and cuddled back down into his swaddling, eyes closing as you carefully returned him to his cradle. Warm arms wrapped around your body and held you close to a firm chest, slightly soothing you. Silva had been surprisingly supportive of your maternal need to care for the infant and had actually started to behave like a father would towards the young child.
You let him lead you back to bed, returning to the warm blankets that seemed extra inviting at that moment. As you settled down once more, Silva's chest at your back as he held you close, you were content to drift off to sleep. That is, until you felt a hand slowly trailing down your front.
"... I swear, Silva. If you're about to try and fuck me right now with our son in the room, you're going to have a bad time."
"It's not like you don't enjoy it."
A sigh of irritation left your lips, feeling his hand slide ever so slightly lower. Enough was enough and you wanted to sleep, so you turned your head and bit down directly on his arm. There was a beat of silence before you heard the softest of laughs rumble from his chest.
"Alright, you've made your point. I'll let you rest... For now."
Releasing his arm from your jaws, you turned back to rest your head against the pillow. You didn't break skin, but you certainly left a clear mark behind on his fair skin. A small bit of pride bubbled up in your chest at your small victory over the white-haired man as you let yourself get pulled back into sleep.
~~~~~~~~
At least two months had passed since your sudden evening sickness and no other signs of pregnancy had occured. Just to be on the safe side, you and Silva both decided to use certain birth controls to ensure you would not be carrying another child. It made you sad to think about at the time, but you knew it was for the best given all that had happened up until that point.
You thought all of those different foul tasting medicines had done their job and you wrote off your absent menstrual cycle as your body still recovering from being pregnant. However, when the second month came and left without your cycle, you were becoming far more concerned. When you brought it up to Silva, he reassured you that there was no possible way you could still be pregnant with all of the different contraceptives you had taken.
Now you were almost certain you were still pregnant, seeing your stomach slightly swell once more. But that shouldn't be possible given how thorough you had been early on to stop the pregnancy. You decided you needed outside opinion on the matter and made up some small excuse about your head hurting and wanting to be checked.
Naturally, Silva didn't question and almost immediately retrieved the kind doctor to check you for anything and everything. She explored every possibility and ruled out almost any kind of illness before she got to your stomach, noting the way your body had been reacting. As a precaution- despite Silva's insistence you were not pregnant- she decided to do an ultrasound of your stomach.
Sure enough, there was a small heartbeat in your body.
"..."
"..."
"... How the hell is it still there?"
"I guess all of those contraceptives didn't actually work."
"That's not possible."
"Hm, it would seem the little one disagrees with you."
"We're getting it out of you right now."
"No you damn-well aren't."
"(Y/n)-"
"Clearly the first attempt didn't work. If something is so determined to stay alive that it refuses all efforts to remove it, it should be allowed to live."
"For fuck's sake-"
"N. O. No."
"Damn it, (y/n)-"
"I said 'no' and I meant it!"
Silva let out a highly frustrated and irritated snarl, obviously beyond irritated with the sudden turn of events. Your kind doctor sat in silence as the two of you snapped at each other, trying to go unnoticed given how angry Silva was. The raised voices brought attention to the both of you as Zeno casually strolled into the room, eyebrow raised as he looked between you and Silva.
"What are you two snapping about now?"
"I won't let him get rid of our child."
"Killua is too young to start training."
"I'm not talking about Killua."
"... What?"
Zeno looked to be honestly surprised at your words, trying to make sense of what he was saying as he took in the ultrasound machine near you. The back and forth squabble had apparently woken Killua from his afternoon nap and the sudden entrance of his grandfather made him whine. The complaint from your young son had you moving to stand, only to be stopped by Zeno who picked up the squirming child and gave him to you.
There was certainly a fair part of you that appreciated your father in law, since he tended to take your side whenever an argument came up. He had to qualms about telling his son to be quiet or saying he was being unreasonable when he became too posessive or controlling of you. Not to mention the fact that Zeno had no qualms in telling Silva off or intentionally poking fun at his son on any given day.
"It's too soon for her to go through another pregnancy, especially after carving her stomach open for that brat."
"Well, you aren't wrong. It is probably too soon. (Y/n), what do you make of all of this?"
You hummed, soothing little Killua who lay in your arms and chewed on your fingers in fascination. You knew they were right, but you also knew that you wanted to give it a chance.
"We already tried once to end this pregnancy and that clearly didn't work. Something with a will strong enough to persevere despite any and all attempts to stop it should at least be given a chance."
Zeno nodded and gave a hum of contemplation, narrowing his eyes in thought. As the elder considered everything at hand, Killua decided you weren't paying enough attention to him and let out an ear piercing squeal, holding his hands up to you demandingly. It was hard to say he wasn't absolutely adorable even if he was a demanding and bossy little thing.
"Alright. Keep the child. But, if it begins to have too much strain on your body, it will be removed. Does that sound fair to the both of you?"
You wanted to argue that it was your choice even if you wound up dying, but you knew it would backfire on you, so you simply nodded. Silva also seemed as if he wished to argue before relenting and growling out in annoyance already frustrated due to your denying of his advances with Killua's presence in the room at night. This only added even more time he was unable to take you as he wished, growing increasingly irritated by the day.
~~~~~~~~
The more your stomach swelled, the more you wanted to just cuddle up with your growing family and enjoy the quiet. Silva, though liking your affection with him, still felt frustration gnawing at his mind the longer he spent unable to indugle in his desires. There was little he wanted more than pinning you to the bed and satisfying his growing need for you. He was halfway tempted to do it regardless of the pregnancy or how you felt, but he kept himself contained, counting down the days until he could do as he wished.
There were still days that he was unable to resist holding you close and just feasting on the sweet milk you produced. It was barely enough to tide him over and keep himself from jumping you.
The words that would best describe his behavior was a tiger in a cage, anxiously pacing and growling out his frustration. You almost wondered what was in store for you as soon as you were finally without child. Some part of you hoped he would be merciful, but you also figured that would never happen, especially with how pent up he would be come the end.
The gentle heat that came from Silva helped you relax as you rest your head against his chest, Killua was napping and you almost felt like you wanted to do the same. Silva's large hands gently supported your swollen stomach and took the pressure off of your back, allowing you to cuddle close to the intimidating man. His gaze seemed distant as he stared down at your stomach, callused hands gently sliding over your soft skin.
His eyes suddenly moved from where they were resting to look at you with a raise eyebrow, making a small squeak of surprise escape your lips. A slight smirk pulled at his lips, one of his hands gently resting on the back of your neck as he pulled you into a deep kiss. A soft whimper whined from your throat as he slid his tongue in between your lips.
You pulled away from the intense kiss, panting lightly from the sudden show of affection. His blue eyes seemed almost hazed with need as you found yourself pinned beneath him on the plush couch. Your heart thundered in your chest as you pressed back against him, turning your head to the side.
"Stop, Silva!"
"I don't think you can make me."
"Stop it!"
He seemed like he was lost in whatever haze had been taking over his mind before a sudden shrill screech broke him out of his lustfilled gaze. You turned your head to look back at where the noise had originated, stunned to see Killua standing at the doorway, holding onto the door-frame. Somehow he must have gotten out of his crib and opened the door to get to where he now stood.
You were amazed that this child, this infant, was not only able to escape his crib, but was currently standing and staring at the two of you. Silva seemed to regain control of himself as he moved away, letting you get up from where you had been pinned to the couch. The moment you sat up, your little five month old walked to you as if it were the most normal thing on the planet.
Typically, infants began trying to walk at around 7-8 months old, and even then they would need something to hold onto in order to balance properly. Not this kid apparently. If there were ever a sign your little Killua was different from other children, it would be this.
As he reached your side, he held up his arms in a demanding way towards you, clearly wanting to be picked up.
He gurgled at you and started chewing on his fist, watching you closely. You were about to say something as Silva jealously wrapped an arm around you only for Killua let out another screech. You wanted to smile as Killua clearly did not like it when Silva touched you, already showing how much he favored you over his father.
You silently thanked the child, pleased that he had snapped Silva out of his aggressive and forceful behavior. At least you knew your children were on your side.
~~~~~~~~
It was a month before your due-date but Silva was already stressing. He would pace and constantly check in on you, making sure to have any and all possibilities in mind. There would be absolutely no repeat of your prior pregnancy and he was determined to not leave your side for a single moment.
He had taken to pacing around you at almost all hours other than the the ones he spent holding you in his arms. Nothing seemed to be able to soothe him and you found yourself speaking softly to him and telling him everything was alright even though you were the pregnant one.
At least you had some semi-stable company, Zeno sitting with you and watching his son pace as you absently listened to the large television and whatever was on it. You were surprisingly comfortable despite everything that had been going on. Today was the day your eight-month old was being taken away.
You were upset with how early it was and Silva himself almost tried to stop his father from coming to collect the child. Though it saddened you, you also knew that it would be hard to deal with your final month of pregnancy and take care of your eight-month old child at the same time. Besides, Zeno wanted to start training Killua earlier than the others given how quickly the child picked up walking and language comprehension.
At least Zeno decided to stay with you for a few hours instead of just taking Killua away, letting you adjust to the idea of your son leaving your side. You were thankful for the few extra moments with your son, content to sit and relax among the other family members.
A faint uncomfortable feeling hummed in your mind, making you frown and try to move around to a more comfortable position. But no matter where you moved and no matter how you tried to settle back down, that annoying feeling persisted. Unfortunately, Silva seemed hyper aware of every move you made, so when you slightly winced from the growing irritation in your body, he was by your side immediately.
"Tell me how you're feeling, you don't seem all that comfortable right now."
"I'm fine, just a bit tired..."
"Are you certain?"
"Yeah. I'm certain. Still at least a month away from my expected date, so we have-"
You cut off, feeling that small ache turn into a sharp pinch that suddenly stabbed at you, like a needle being jabbed into a water balloon. You practically felt all of the color drain from your face as you suddenly rest your hand on your stomach.
"... Silva?"
"Yes?"
"I think I need to see a doctor now."
"Wait, why-?"
"RIGHT NOW, SILVA."
The sudden urgency in your voice spurred both men into action. Zeno quickly moving from his seated position, setting Killua aside in the small play-pen before helping you to lay back against the couch. Silva was out the door seconds after the words left your lips, racing off to round up anyone and everyone you would need.
You figured he wouldn't take you with him and would just lead the doctors to you since there were so many things that could go wrong, he didn't want to risk moving you. It was still so early, so why did your water break so suddenly?
~~~~~~~~
You were exhausted and wanted little more than to sleep after a long eighteen hours of being in labor. Eventually, after the immense pain you were in, doctors decided that you would need to have a c-section to ensure both your safety and the safety of the infant. Why they didn't come to this conclusion earlier even though you had Killua in a similar way, you didn't know.
At least you were able to rest now. You partially wanted to stay awake to be able to hold your newborn, but thee fact of the matter was, the child was born prematurely. Naturally, all sorts of precautions had to be taken to ensure that your newborn would live, so you didn't argue too much. You'd rather your baby be safe even if you weren't allowed to hold them.
"Any thoughts about names?"
Your gaze slowly drifted over to the location of the voice, seeing Zeno looking up at Silva, hands behind his back. He likely thought you were already asleep, given the ordeal you had just gone through. Silva hadn't named any of your children up until that point so you wondered what he would respond with, if he responded at all.
"No idea."
"Come on, Silva, you must have at least one name in mind."
"... Alluka?"
"That's the first time you've come up with a semi-decent name."
You let out a tired chuckle, appreciating the flat tone Zeno used whenever chastising Silva. A large hand gently held your own and you tiredly turned your head to look at Silva, who gently kissed the back of your hand, all previous conversation forgotten. For a moment, you hoped things were going to be alright, and you let yourself drift to sleep with Silva's deep baritone voice as your lullaby.
~~~~~~~~
Several months had passed being allowed to croon and fuss over the infant, adoring the black-haired, blue-eyed child. It seemed as if your sweet Alluka never ran out of energy and always had a smile no matter what. Only rarely did the infant ever cry and was easy to soothe the few times it happened.
Silva wanted little to do with the newborn, but still entertained any time his darling asked questions or spoke in such a cheerful tone. At least she was alright. If anything, she seemed to be better than alright.
Silva watched as his darling angel fell asleep, her body curled on the couch around the mass of blankets where the infant slept. He was getting tired of sharing his (y/n) with the infant and frustrated with how often (y/n) pushed away his advances. He was her husband, he should have the right to all of her attention and not be forced to share her with anyone.
It was still early on, but Silva figured she had enough time with the parasite and she would get over her sorrow if he took it away.
He silently slipped his hands beneath the sleeping infant, lifting it away from the curled up woman who peacefully slept. Moving silently, Silva left the cluster of rooms with the infant in his arms.
~~~~~~~~
Slowly waking up, you moved carefully to not disturb the child in your arms, turning your head to look at the mass of blankets. Your heart made a hollow thump when you saw the empty space your baby once lay in.
In seconds, you were on your feet, searching through every room for any sign of your lost infant. How could your little one wander off without you noticing? You turned over every piece of furniture, every blanket in the rooms, searched every corner, but there was still no sign of your lost infant.
You stood in the middle of the main room, arms wrapped around yourself as you desperately sucked down breaths as your chest tightened up. You felt like you couldn't breathe and your panicked gasps became wheezing and strained, evolving into what was a continuous crying wail of pain and desperation.
You heard the door open suddenly, but it did nothing to stop or distract you from your long mournful cry. You held your arms close to your body and your voice hitched with every small breath you took, feeling as if the world were falling out from underneath you. Large hands gripped your shoulders, one coming up to grip your chin and tilt your head back, only straining your already shallow breaths.
"(Y/n), what's wrong?"
"..."
"(Y/n), tell me what is wrong."
"..."
"Damn it, say something!"
"You took Alluka, didn't you?"
"... (Y/n)-"
"You took my baby!"
Though he said nothing further, only allowing his grip on you to go slack. You knew you were right. You knew he had taken your child from you while you were resting. You felt your breathing become even more strained as you gripped your chest over your heart, feeling your body swaying and shaking. An old voice reached your ears, but it did not soothe you, nothing but the soft babbling of your child would be able to.
"Silva, what on earth-? Ah, I see she isn't too pleased about Alluka."
"He took my baby..!"
"Wait, did you not know the child was leaving today?"
"He told me nothing...! He took my Alluka while I was sleeping..!"
"Silva, you told me she was okay with you taking him!"
"He told me nothing..!"
Your shaking had not stopped, if anything it only became more intense and your breathing more unstable. It felt like your heart was desperately working to beat and keep you alive, but it felt like it was being crushed by the muscles around it. You heard Zeno say something more to Silva, but you couldn't make out the words, feeling like all of your senses were leaving you.
"..?"
"(Y/n)..?"
You don't know when your legs gave out beneath you, but in seconds you were falling, barely able to see through your own eyes. It was as if you were fading away, but you didn't know why. There was no sound beyond that of your tiny shallow breaths before those too faded away into the empty void.
~~~~~~~~
"What did I tell you about taking her children away from her!?"
Silva just glared out of the corner of his eyes at his father, not saying anything in response. For a moment, it looked like Zeno was about to say something before his attention suddenly snapped over to (y/n), who had been quietly sobbing. Silva also looked back at his wife, his eyes widening slightly when he saw just how pale she had become, as if the blood under her skin had gone still.
"(Y/n)..? (Y/n)?"
Silva softly called out to the woman, trying to rouse her from whatever it was that had made her look so lifeless. Then he realized something, she was barely breathing. Her tired eyes gazed at a far away place before her body lurched and began to fall backwards. He was quick to catch her before she hit the ground, but something was wrong.
His angel's eyes had closed and her breathing had ceased. He checked her pulse only to realize there wasn't one, her heart wasn't beating. He didn't think, he simply just acted, beginning to put pressure on her fragile rib cage. Each steady and rapid pulse of pressure made her body slightly react as he desperately worked to get her heart beating again.
He wanted to scream in frustration each time she didn't revive before an arm began pulling him back, other hands reaching out for his angel. He fought against the firm grip as more hands seemed to join the first, forcefully pulling him away from his love. He fought to break free and was snarling in rage the closer those hands got to his darling, not wanting them to touch her soft skin.
A firm pressure on the back of his neck slowed his movements before stopping them all together, his eyes still staring and hand still reaching desperately out to his darling as his vision went black.
~~~~~~~~
"Well, this is just one big cluster fuck."
Maha growled out as he looked between the unconcious family. Luckily, it didn't take long for doctors to get (y/n)'s heart beating again despite the heart-attack she had endured as a result of her infant being stolen. Silva was still in a deep unconscious state from the forceful suppression of his nen. The both of them lay on the same cot in their unaware states, as Zeno and Maha knew the uproar Silva would cause if he woke without his darling (y/n) by his side. Alluka lay in peaceful slumber in his mother's arms, swaddled carefully and securely.
Zeno was still furious with Silva for not only taking the child away too early for the second time, but for doing so without (y/n)'s knowledge. But that fury was surprisingly outweighed by the pity he felt for his son. The sheer broken and miserable cries Silva had let out were not only a foreign noise, but one Zeno had never heard from his son before. It was like everything in the world had shattered into tiny fragments, leaving behind a broken and empty shell of his son.
He would never admit it to anyone, or even bring it up around Silva, but he saw true tears of agony in his son's bright blue eyes. He had seen Silva in a frazzled state, in a despondent state, and even a mournful state, but he had never seen such a shattered spirit like what he saw in Silva. As if every passing second (y/n) did not draw breath was pulling more and more of Silva away each time.
The man he had trained to be a ruthless and cold assassin crumbled into a terrified and lost soul. So filled with pain, so filled with agony, even he would not wish it upon his worst enemy. To see his son- a strong and steady man- crumble away into a broken shell so quickly was something that would haunt him for the rest of his days.
He would say that Silva brought it upon himself with the actions he had taken, but even that would be unfair. There is little more unsettling or sad than seeing someone with such a strong will become no more than a fragile whimpering shell.
Silva was the first to stir from his unaware state, his eyes were empty and dull. He truly seemed as if all the life in him had been ripped out like the stuffing of a toy. As his gaze slowly drifted, there was a sudden revitalization of energy when he saw (y/n) laying next to him.
He immediately had his hand upon her neck, checking for the pulse he feared wouldn't be there. As if a great weight had been lifted from his chest, he let out a long sigh of relief the second he found the soft pulse. He didn't seem to realize that he had an audience, merely enraptured with the moment.
He protectively wrapped his arms around both his darling lover and his young infant, holding them close and refusing to let either go. (Y/n)'s vacant expression became a vague smile as she slowly seemed to curl into Silva's arms, holding her baby between them protectively.
Zeno would deal with his son and the clear poor decision making later, for now he let the family rest in quiet comfort together.
At least they were all still alive. That, he could work with.

A/n: man how can I not love him! Itâs Nolan North! Also I take no credit for the gif!
Briggs didnât know how he ended up in this mess, miles from any civilization with a gun pointed at his chest. He knew it would be suicide to leave the home due to the freezing weather and he knew it would be suicide to shot. Finger still gripping his gun the man locked eyes with you as he slowly placed the gun on the ground.Â
âSlide it to me...now.â
You werenât shaking, your hand was steady on the trigger and he wondered if youâve been in this situation before.
âOkay.â Keeping his gaze on you he slide the gun towards you as it moved across the hardwood floor. Kneeling down you picked the gun up, sliding it in your waist band you gave him a nod. âUp!â
âY/n...please....no more violence.â
âHe came here to kill you Rosie and your child...Iâm not letting him do that.â
Then he saw her, along with the small child clinging to the woman's skirts. âPlease.â
Briggs tried not to flinch at the pleading in the voice.When he first saw you the man was interested, you were kind to everyone that lived in the slums so he found himself going down to see you more even getting the nerve to talk to you. He enjoyed spending time with you, you were different then her. He liked the more blue tones you wore over the red he was constantly seeing. You were kind though you also cared about the people around you and weren't afraid to stand up when something was wrong.
But then one day he saw it, you slipped into a small shot. He didnât know what to make of it so he followed and when he saw your perches a small stuffed toy he could have sworn his heart nearly stopped. You had a kid? were you a breeder? He didnât think he could kill you if that was the case though the man was thankful no one else saw.
âY/n...I wonât.â
âDonât you dare say my name....I know what you do.â
He hated seeing tears in those pretty eyes of yours, the very eyes he found himself getting lost in when ever you spoke.
âIâll leave...I wonât say a thing and you wonât see me again.â It was true, heâd do anything to keep you safe. While he was not looking forward to stepping out in that storm he knew that he had to keep what little trust he had. Backing out he kept his gaze on you.
With your gun still trained on the man you had to blink your tears away as he slipped out the door.
âY/n...you have to go after him.â
You knew your friend was right, this house was farm from anything and with that storm coming his chance of not freezing to death was low. Closing your eyes for a moment you turned back to your friend, her child was in her arms. The little boy clinging to a dinosaur plush as he buried his face into his mothers neck. âChrist...â Swallowing thickly you knew what you had to do, you couldnât just leave him out in the cold. Not after the small moments you two had shared, not when you felt something for the man. âGo up to your room and lock the door alright...Iâll be back.â
Grabbing a large coat then slipping in on you quickly slipped out the door. The harsh wind biting at your exposed skin. You tried not to think about what Briggs might be going through when all he wore was a suite. Trudging through the snow you tried to scan for his foot prints but it was hard with all the snow being kicked up. He didnât know this place like you did, it would be easy for him to get lost. Wetting your lips you noticed a small indentation in the snow, knowing you were on the right track. Walking a few more feet you spotted a black shoe, closing your eyes tightly you wished you would not be stumbling upon his body.
Finding him resting against a tree you let out a breath of relief seeing his chest rise. âThank god.â Moving closing to the man you removed the gloves you were wearing placing your hands against his cheeks, he felt so cold. Biting your lip you wrapped your arm around his waist hoping it would wake the man. âCome on Briggs, get up.â
âY/n?â Briggs couldnât understand why he felt so warm, he was cold a minute ago and why were you here?
âYes....now come on and help me...can you stand?â
Gritting his teeth Briggs placed his hand against the bark of the tree, his legs shaking as he stood. âYes.â
It took longer to get the man back to the house than it did to look for him. You could feel him shaking by your side as you helped him near the fire place. Biting your lip you shrugged off the large coat then grabbed one of the blankets. Placing it over the mans shoulders you heard Briggs let out a small sigh, you noticed how tired he actually looked.
âWhy did you save me? You could have left me to die...I wouldnât have blamed you y/n.â
Biting your tongue you sat beside him, his gaze on glued to the fire place his body tensing for a moment when your grasped his hand. âI did it because...I still care about you Briggs.â
âWhy? After what Iâve done....I.â
Shaking your head you shifted your body, you were trying to figure out your words. âItâs....I donât know Briggs....you canât just turn that off...part of me hates you for what youâve done but I know youâre a good man...do you still care about me?â
âY/n...of course I do.â
Letting go of your hand the man placed his own against your cheek. It still felt cold but you were happy you felt some warmth to them. âI...think I love you y/n.â
Two years, itâs been two years since Briggs followed you home. Two years since he faked his death and itâs been two years since he has had a child of his own. The home he was now living in was bigger, it was hard not to expand the little home since his own family was growing, he was grateful for your friend still being here. He didnât know what to do when he first found out you were pregnant, it scared him.
When his child was still a infant Briggs rarely went out, he couldnât risk anyone recognizing him. Scratching his beard the man glanced around the property, his eyes scanning the area to make sure his family wouldnât be compromised. âBriggs? something wrong?â
Snapping out of his day dream he turned to face you, a small smile forming on his face as he walked over to you. âNothing is wrong...in fact...everything his perfect.â Taking his daughter from your arms he placed a small kiss to your forehead as he then gave her a playful toss in the air. âHow about we go for a swim?â
âYES!!â
Little girl cheering you let out a soft laugh shaking your head, you were happy. Happy that Briggs put that life behind him, happy that your little girl was healthy and happy that things were finally going right.
Everything was perfect.

 haikyuu!! as dads (pt.1)
A/n:Â hello! starting off with a clean slate here yay! if some of the first few seem so short and the writing seems different, itâs because I wrote half of this like three days ago-Â anywways, requests are open btw!!
Summary: haikyuu characters as dads/domestic living.Â
Pairings: Semi Eita, Bokuto Koutarou, Kuroo Tetsurou, Oikawa Toru, Kenma KozumeÂ
Warnings: some timeskip spoilers, fluff, parenting, angst (kinda) swearing (maybe), crack, all characters are aged up
Word count: 1.8kÂ
Part Two!
Semi Eita
- the serious sometimes scary looking dad, but other than that heâs a fluff ball
- he may look scary but he simply cannot punish them for anythingÂ
- especially after they bonded over music, legit cannot do nothing wrong
- on the days heâs not working or with his bandmates, you can often find him with his twin daughters, teaching them how to use different musical instrumentsÂ
- okay, so your daughters are still pretty young, so they arenât very good at using most instruments, but for Christmas you and Semi got them both a small set of drums, something easy
- it was very cute to come home from work to see your husband and daughters loudly practicing on the drums
- sure at first it gave you a blasting headache, but after a while you got used to it, and even jammed out with them when you had the time
- mainly just random sounds/beats coming from the two five year olds, but Semi doesnât mind, heâs willing to teach them and he does proudlyÂ
- if one of his daughters or both wants too
- definitely writes songs for his daughters and you
- i can see him writing lullabyâs for them and working on them for hours making sure they were perfect
- lets just say they were perfectly beautifulÂ
- because you went to high school together, the nickname âsemi semiâ stuck with you (thanks chicken tendo)
- but your girls will also cutely call him âsemi semiâ
- you often bring them to concerts despite semi saying itâs probably too loud for them
- heâll let you sit safely with them back stage uwu
- after he runs back to you three and is bombarded with hugs, high-fives and kithes
- YOUâRE ALL SO PROUD OF HIM
Bokuto Koutarou
-Â bokuto is a hyper dad, which we all saw coming. there is no taking the child out of bo
- i feel like heâd want tons of kids, probably even uses his children as an excuse to act the way he does
- i can see him with a few kids, 3 to be exact (2 boys and 1 girl)
- he likes to be really involved with his children, and gets very sad/emo when he doesnât see them for short/long periods of time
- for example, the Black Jackals is a whole different game field than high school volleyball and itâs much more time consuming and has him away a lotÂ
- when he does come home and has time off, letâs just say he clings to his children like a puppy
- even after a while THEY get sick of him and wanna ditch him, cue emo bo :(
- if his children gang up on him (which they do) cue emo Bo again :(
- he babies them all, canât ever say no
- tends to go back on his word lmao
- if your oldest son begs and begs for season tickets to his favorite sports team? Bo KNOWS they can be expensive, and he was even scolded by you, but two hours after saying no, he runs back to his son and gives him the moneyÂ
- if your daughter wants to get her nails done with a group of friends, he knows she picks out the most expensive polishes, etc, BUT HE DOES NOT CARE, he will gladly give her the money and even go with her to get his nails doneÂ
- yes, you heard me
- of course heâll being chaperone for this girls day, he promises to pretend that he doesnât know them and keep his distance (sit very far away lol), but after a little while its just hard to contain and heâs screaming to everyone in the salon that his daughter is sitting on the other side of the room eye-Â
- your youngest son wants an expensive sports car? done
- he just wants to make his family happy, pleaseee
 Kuroo TetsurouÂ
- poor Kuroo, he has 2 daughters and you, so heâs surrounded by girls lolÂ
- he actually doesnât mind it tbh
- between you and his two daughters, he wouldnât have it any other way
- just gives him an excuse to be overly protective
- anywhere in public, expect either kuroo holding your hand
- or holding his daughters close to him (piggy back rides, yes)
- or, he stands protectively behind you and your daughters while you talk to someone, sending them threatening glares behind your backsÂ
- he was shy as a child, so it wasnât surprising when one of his daughters, the youngest, was very very shy
- he doesnât mind once again, just gives him an excuse to be protectiveÂ
- although heâs busy, he always makes time for his girls ALWAYS
- definitely a bragger
- if his family is brought into a convo, he pridefully will express how cute and smart his daughters are, may or may not openly declare his daughters are the cutest amongst his co-workers children
- heâs mad intuitive and aware/observant
- kuroo always knows when one or both of his daughters are about to start crying/throw a fit
- cue dad kuroo prepared to crack funny chemistry and or science jokes
- his shy daughter finds him very funny, doubles over every time he cracks a joke and calls him a âsilly roosterâ
- even when she's older she still laughs and even copies his jokes
- but his other daughter just cringes, every time sigh
- when she was younger she used to fake the laughs, but when he started saying the jokes in public she just stopped reacting, hoping he would stop-
- he didnât...
- i like to imagine kuroo and kenma staying friends even after high school, and since kenma has hella video games and a whole arcade in his house, heâll often bring his daughters over to his house
- his eldest daughter loves it at uncle kenmaâs house
- cue jealous rooster dad
Oikawa ToruÂ
- okay so oikawa is ALWAYS busy
- isnât home much, except during off seasons or if he messes up his knee again (yes, itâll happen)Â
- in the event that heâs home due to a knee injury, heâll wanna be catered too lmaooo
- he doesnât expect his little girl to cater to him and really only teases you about it
- but his daughter will get him whatever he needs while heâs propped up on the couch
- she admires him so much
- his daughter kinda has a smart mouth-
- definitely got that from him, having picked up on it from a young age, while he was home
- when he was home once propped up with a messed up knee, she went âhere dadkawaâ as she handed him an ice pack
- he laughs at the nickname, asking you about where it came from later
âshe was on call with hajimeâs daughter yesterday... hajime asked how âpoopykawaâ was doingâ
- he just rolls his eyes, âat least he cleaned it up for her sakeâ you explainedÂ
- will not lose the âkawaâ part, so itâs dadkawa lol
- when heâs away, sheâs always asking for dadkawa
- when heâs here they're inseparable
- morning breakfast now will be her sitting in his lap instead of yours
- she asks to watch cartoons with him instead of you :(
- bath time consists of her arguing with you as you try to wash her hair, while oikawa sits on the closed toilet seat laughing to himself
- âmommy i want dadkawa to wash my hair!â
-Â âyou always whine that he gets soap in your eyesâ
-Â âI donât care!â
- when you bring your daughter to games, sheâll be cheering him on proudly, âmommy, look at dadkawa!â âGO DADKAWA!!!!â
- since he plays for the professional Argentine team, i figure you all live in Argentina now, traveling from Argentina and Japan was tiring, so you moved to be closer
- when the news approaches him after or before games, he makes sure to show his daughter off and the whole time itâs his daughter stealing the show
- she might be shy at first, but as long as dadkawa is holding her, sheâs fine
- heâll teach her Spanish, defiantly sings happy birthday to her in Spanish because itâs special
- he calls her his princesa (princess in spanish)
Kenma KozumeÂ
- if his child didnât enjoy video games like him or any of his hobbies like volleyball, I feel like Kenma would have a hard time with them
- he loves his son yes, but heâd have a hard time interacting with him, especially if heâs not into video games or volleyball
- if he is though, you can often find the two in kenmaâs home office, playing games
- when your son was a infant, you would always come home from being out/work to find your son sitting in his pjâs on kenmaâs lap watching his dad play video gamesÂ
- âitâs late, ken. i see heâs already in his pjâs- did you already have dinner?â âyesâ
- âwithout me?â you asked, lifting up your son to give his cheeks kisses. âthereâs apple pie in the fridge.â
- eye-
- yes he fed your son that, yes he needs a little guidance, yes he needs to be told apple pie is NOT dinner
- on another occasion of coming home, you found your boys in the same spot, once again playing video games, your sons eyes drifting between the game and his father every time he muttered under his breathÂ
- âthe screen is bad for your eyes kenma, and heâs just a baby! heâll get bad eyes too!â
- kenmaâs short answer is, âhe wonâtâÂ
- when your son got older, and he started getting into video games, it got harder for you to tear his eyes away from the screen
- heâs been around video games his whole life, so of course itâd be hard, you just didnât think heâd grow attachedÂ
- kenma leaves most of the strict parenting to you, because he LEGIT doesnât NOT know what to say
- heâs lowkey afraid heâll push his son away if he says the wrong thing, but heâs also worried that if he doesn't say anything, theyâll have no real relationship, so he strugglesÂ
- he tries his hardest to bond with him over video games and volleyball though
- as said by your son, kenmaâs cooking canât compare to yours, BUT he does know how to make a yummy apple pie
- his son will help kenma with said apple pie, when heâs younger he was often the taste tester and made a mess every time
- kenma gets nervous in huge crowds and really around anyone he doesnât know, so if his son is a social butterfly heâll try to get kenma used to people other than himself and you
- somehow, during the rare moments his son has problems (friends, school etc), kenma will be the one to speak up privately
- heâll definitely tell his son to surround himself with a good friend/good friends, he also makes sure to let him know the importance of quality over quantityÂ
- he has a brotherly relationship with kuroo, and if not for kuroo heâd be alone, he wants the same thing for his son

Look Around, Look Around pt 3
Summary: You escaped an abusive marriage, pregnant with your husbandâs child. He sends a bounty hunter after you to bring you back. Everything changes. Din Djarin/pregnant!reader, no use of y/n
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: Pregnancy/related topics, implied/referenced rape, mentions of abuse
Notes: yaaaaaaall better get ready bc the story really starts to kick in during this chapter - stay tuned!
So you'd been travelling with the Mandalorian for a little over a month now. A month of helping him as best you could around the Razor Crest, which usually meant watching the baby while he was out looking for work.
He'd kept it to touring mostly well-populated planets for now, and ones usually far less dangerous than he was used to working on. He didn't want to put you in any unnecessary danger than what came with one in his field of expertise, so it was mostly touristy things on larger planets.
You had fun at first, but those weren't the type of places his work usually stuck around on. So you had to keep moving, keep hopping from skughole to skughole in pursuit of work.
Presently, you were seated on a crate outside of the Crest while he negotiated a docking fee from the Twi'lek woman who owned the hangar and adjacent inn. You rubbed a soothing hand over your stomach while the unborn baby inside you did somersaults. It's okay, little one. I'm right here.
"Need a room for your wife?" the woman asked, slightly louder so you could hear her. She raised a brow at the Mandalorian, who slightly turned to face you.
"She's not my wife - and no," he corrected sharply. "We don't. Just need the hangar spot for a day or so."
You sighed and looked down at the bounty hunter's little one that was currently trying to chase down a cricket nearly as large as he was. He'd tire himself out, which would be good for you later on.
It had been getting a little more difficult for you to sleep at night, not due to anxiety, but due to the creeping pressure on your back and hips.
The Mandalorian, stoic and chivalrous as he was, had offered you his bed to sleep in. He'd found some extra bedding in a shop on Tatooine and bought it all for you so you weren't suffering anymore than you had to. You were nesting. The child constantly was snuggling in the bed with you, and would make his way into your room while the Mandalorian slept, much to his panic. He'd wake in the morning and frantically search for him at first, but now he knew right where to find you.
"Ready?" the Mandalorian asked, making his way back over to you. He had a bag slung over his shoulder and the keys to a speeder in his hand.
Dare you say it, it looked very dad-like, and you actually found a smile creeping across your face at his casual pose.
"Where's this one hiding?" you asked as he shut up the door to the Crest. You scooped up the child, something that was getting increasingly difficult with each day, and stood with him in your arms.
"About a four hour ride that way," Mando said, gesturing with his whole hand pointing east.
You groaned internally. "Four hours!"
"You can stay here if you want," he said with a shrug.
You glanced around the old hangar and scowled. It was completely walled in, and you could see none of the planet from here.
"I'm coming," you said firmly.
He nodded once. "Alright then. Let's go."
***
It took almost five hours to get to your destination, due in part to the rough terrain and also to the fact that your baby thought it would be a wonderful idea to park itself on your bladder.
Coupled with the fact that you were carrying a squirming infant on top of that didn't make for an enjoyable trip.
You finally made it to a small inn in the middle of nowhere long after dark. The soft yellow light from the windows lit up the otherwise overwhelming darkness around you and the front door opened quickly as you neared the inn.
You pressed your back against his chest in fear. This was out in the middle of no where - you hadn't seen another settlement in hours. They shouldn't know anyone was coming...
"They're waiting here for us," Mando explained. "There's nothing to worry about."
You didn't relax even as the bike slowed to a gentle stop in front of the house. Mando jumped off first and held his arms out to you to jump into. The step down was higher than you realized and you stumbled off of it, landing against him heavily. He caught you with ease and set you back on your feet.
The child cooed in your arms when he realized how close his adopted father was. You gently shushed him and pulled his little swaddle over his head.
"Mando!" a booming voice called from the doorway of the in. You jumped a mile and yelled in fear. On instinct, you jumped behind the Mandalorian and turned your body to protect yourself and the two children from any harm.
"Dern," he said, holding up his hand in a greeting to the hulking figure in the doorframe of the inn. "Thank you for agreeing to house us. It's... Greatly appreciated."
"I'm always happy to help you after what you did for me all those years ago," the one called Dern said. He finally stepped into the light. A Devaronian man smiled down at you and you tried your best to not cower from him. He towered over the Mandalorian, who was already tall compared to you, and you had to crane your neck to see him.
"Don't mention it," Mando grumbled. "Really."
The Devaronian roared with laughter and slapped his hand on Mando's backplate hard enough to send him stumbling forward. He then approached you and you squeaked, holding the child tight enough to make him give a sharp cry.
"What's this?" he cooed, giving you a quick once over. "You have two little ones now, Mando? The green one Xi'an's or something?"
"Neither are mine," he said, sounding midly disgusted. You hoped that wasn't directed towards you. "I'm raising the one. The girl is a friend."
Friend. The word, you found, stung more than it should have. You were only that, you supposed. Patched him up a few times. He held your hair back when you got motion sickness on more than one occasion. You were the one he called for when he had a nightmare. He was the one you ran to when you first felt your baby kick - you had laughed when he called your baby aruett'ika when it stopped moving as soon as you managed to convince him to put his hands on your belly. Friend.
"Well, I'm always happy to give you shelter when you need it," he said, nodding in the Mandalorian's direction. "And as for her, I'm just happy to give shelter to anyone who can put up with you and not want to dump you in the Sarlacc pit."
You swore you heard Mando's eyes roll back into his head as he retrieved the bag from the rack on the speeder.
Dern held the door open for you and bowed when you entered. He waved one finger at the baby in your arms, who blew a tiny raspberry and made a mean face.
"Please, make yourselves comfortable," he said, making a sweeping gesture at his living space.
You looked around, noting all the potentially soft places for you to lay and you sighed wistfully before making your way to a pile of cushions. The child wiggled out of your arms and plopped itself on a black cushion and babbled up at Mando, who gave a heavy sigh.
"I made supper," Dern offered. "Wasn't sure what guests you brought with you, so I made a bit of everything."
"Something with bones for the little one," Mando said.
"Anything that isn't fish," you said quietly, leaning back in the cushions. "It's been turning my stomach."
"Aren't you glad you didn't stay on Sorgan," Mando teased as Dern turned to the pot on the stove.
"Could have been making a fortune as a basket weaver," you hummed, pressing a hand to your belly. The baby had been restless all day and still hadn't settled and you shifted uncomfortably as they chose that moment to kick particularly hard.
"You okay?" Mando asked. He sounded worried and he leaned forward in his chair to get closer to you.
"Fine, fine," you murmured, "She's just jumpy."
"You think you're having a girl?" he asked, resting his elbows on his thighs. Â
"Omera thought I was having a girl, so it just sort of stuck," you replied with a shrug.
"Might be nice," he mused. He sounded distant, like he was thinking about something.Â
You wanted to ask him why, but Dern returned with two bowls of hot soup and a cup of broth for the child.
Mando gave an awkward cough and stood, taking the large bowl in both hands.
"Ah, forgive me, my friend," Dern said. "I have forgotten. A guest room is set up for you - please, eat there."
He nodded and thanked his host before he disappeared down the narrow hallway.
In the few weeks you'd been travelling, you realized you never saw him eat, never saw him take food into a room to eat. He must eat long after you and the baby go to bed. The thought broke your heart. How often did he wait for you to decide you were sleepy and go to bed so he could eat?
"So," Dern chuckled as he watched the baby slurp his broth, "You've been traveling with him long?"
You shook your head. "A month," you murmured. "He... saved me."
Dern nodded. You hoped he didn't ask anything else. It wasn't like it was hard for you to talk or make friends, like you imagined it potentially could be for Mando, but you really didn't want to consider the possibilities of all the stuff that could have happened to you had another hunter found you.
Would you be dead? Alive? You shuddered at your internal question - would you still have your baby?
"See?" Dern said, "Man's got a good head on his shoulders."
You nodded absently in agreement. You'd been told that by Cara before, and by a man named Greef Karga only a week or so prior when he realized you were sticking around for a while. The Mandalorian made an impact. He killed with such an acute precision and his skills as a bounty hunter were unmatched. Yet he was gentle in ways that you don't think anyone would believe if you told them.
You, the child, and the Devaronian ate in silence. You hefted yourself off the cushion and walked to the sink basin. Your host got up to follow you into the kitchen.
You were aware of his proximity to you as you took a sponge to wash your dish. He watched you with dark eyes and you felt your pulse rise in fear.
"If you're just a friend, who's child is it you carry?" he asked, leaning against the counter.
"My ex husband," you said. Then you added dryly, "He's dead."
It was a bold faced lie and you hoped he wouldn't notice and leave you alone. No such luck.
"Perhaps then you need some... Assistance with raising your bundle."
Dern trailed a broad hand up your arm and you shied away from his touch. Goosebumps broke out on your skin, but the act of touching at all made your flesh crawl.
"I'll manage," you said firmly. You heard the quiver in your voice and you kicked yourself.
"Are you sure?" Dern didn't even wait for you to reply. He reached a hand over and roughly grabbed your belly. He dug his nails into your arm and spun you so he had you pinned against the counter. One of the drawer pulls bit into your back. His hands gripped you tight enough to bruise your skin.
"She's sure," came a gruff voice from behind you.
Mando was standing there, bowl in hand, helmet firmly back in place. You could tell from his body language that he was upset.
Dern took a step back, his hands raised in surrender.
"Come here," Mando ordered, nodding at you. You walked over to stand by him, your legs shaking bad enough that he wrapped a hand around your waist to steady you.
"She's going to bed," Mando said, keeping his eyes steady on Dern. "Got it? If I find out you did this again, I'll reactivate your tracking beacon. I know quite a few people looking for you."
"Whatever," he grunted, turning to the dishes.
Mando took you down the hall to the guest room, making sure to not frighten you.
Once inside the bedroom, you let out a loud sob and a shaky breath. You leaned heavily against the door and pressed your hand to your mouth to calm yourself.Â
"Breathe," he whispered, his strong hands on your shoulders the only thing keeping you upright.
"Just breathe. I've got you, okay?"
You nodded quickly and tried to even out your breathing so you wouldn't hyperventilate.
"Can I hug you?" Mando murmured. "Is that okay?"
You thought for a minute and then nodded. No one had ever asked if they could touch you before...
He gently wrapped his arms around you and held you. His gloves were warm as they spread across your back. You expected the chest of his beskar to be cold, but it felt warm against your belly.
"You're safe," he promised, the modulator of his helmet made it come out in a whisper. "No one is going to touch you unless you let them first. Just breathe. I'm here."
You took a few more gulping breaths and relaxed into his arms, one hand gripping the fabric between his arm guards. You didn't think a metal man would give great hugs, but you also didn't think there was a way out of your marriage. You've been known to be wrong before.
There was a gentle flutter in your belly and you laughed, wiping your cheeks. "It's okay, little one..."
Mando pulled away from the hug slightly and looked down at where your hand rested on your stomach. He made a slight move to pull away but you grabbed his wrist and gently placed his hand beside yours.
"I still can't feel it," he said softly but with as much seriousness as he could muster, "Aruett'ika."
You laughed louder than you had in months.
