It will forever be hilarious to me that Disney wanted so fucking bad to make a Wicked movie — but couldn't get the rights from Universal — that they literally spent billions upon billions of dollars making SEVEN different films (and a whole season of television; not even including their sequels and spinoffs) more than one of which they even got Idina and Kristen to be in based on the stripped-down premise of "what if the Stock Female Antagonist™ was secretly the Misunderstood Angsty Girlboss Heroine™ all along?" (because Disney execs don't actually care about Wicked, they just saw Green, said "hey! if we can't get the real thing, why not use Our Own (and/or Public Domain) characters?" and simply followed the Marketing Department Road all the way to the bank).

Less funny is the fact they were so successful at it — regardless of the merits (or lack thereof) of any of those projects — that it ended up getting the production of the actual Wicked movie delayed by more than a decade (because it would ironically have looked like a copycat and probably faded into the background if it had come out back when Disney was pumping out knockoffs every fucking year).

Edward: I'm not saying we should leave... We have a duty to the railway after all! I'm just saying... I am beginning to feel uncomfortable pretending to be just an animal to be cared for... I'd like to actually connect with our human peers. Gordon: They're not peers. They're laborers that just so happen to practice animal husbandry in ways that benefit them and ourselves. And we must maintain that illusion for them... After all, if the humans find out we're intelligent, they'd ask for far too much of us. And I for one am not about to waste my time following some nonsensical human rules that cause more headaches than do any good... It's undignified. James: Yeah Edward. Undignified. We're creatures of class. Fae tricksters that pride ourselves in our masterful plays on humanity. so in HoO we get a totally unaddressed thing about the Hephaestus cabin apparently have an underground tunnel system beneath their cabin that they’ve been excavating for almost a century and haven’t found the end to yet. We never hear about this again. But when Jake Mason is explaining it, he jokes to Will Solace that “You Apollo guys can’t have all the fun,” which implies the Apollo cabin also has secrets.

Anyways I think we should just start headcanoning random wild secret areas of each cabin just for fun.
