cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes

just to watch that all fall apart in the last year or so and especially the last two weeks

there's nowhere good to go anymore for artists.

#please dont delete your accounts because of the AI crap. your art deserves more than being lost like that #if you have a good PC please glaze or nightshade it. if you dont or it doesnt work with your style (like mine) please start watermarking #use a plain-ish font. make it your username. if people can't google what your watermark says and find ur account its not a good watermark #it needs to be central in the image - NOT on the canvas edges - and put it in multiple places if you are compelled #please dont stop posting your art because of this shit. we just have to hope regulations will come slamming down on these shitheads#in the next year or two and you want to have accounts to come back to. the world Needs real art #if we all leave that just makes more room for these scam artists to fill in with their soulless recycled garbage #improvise adapt overcome. it sucks but it is what it is for the moment. safeguard yourself as best you can without making #years of art from thousands of artists lost media. the digital world and art is too temporary to hastily click a Delete button out of spite

Just watched the episode of Leverage where Nate chooses not to kill his notorious conman of a father and instead forces him to leave town and sail back to Galway and i gotta say.... you know all those "cozy murder mystery" series where some sleepy rural town is inexplicably besieged by murders? I always used to wonder, what the hell is going down in Badger-upon-Twyne that's causing so much damn crime, but now I know. This is presented in the show like some kind, honorable thing, like oh, yes, I'm sure ol' Jimmy "Felonies Georg" Ford will stop doing crime once he's back in Ireland - why on earth would you assume that!! You've just unleashed this hardened Bostonian gangster upon the innocent sheep and also people of County Galway! Like, don't get me wrong, Galwegians, I'm not trying to say you're pushovers or anything, but i once saw a news article about the police trying to 'clamp down on organized crime' in the city and it said they were on the hunt for a dangerous gang consisting of *checks notes*.... four people. Jimmy Ford is going to own Ballynahinch castle by the end of the week. He's going to start smuggling in cocaine on the little dolphin tour boats. He's going to wreak more havoc on the local ecosystem than an outdoor cat on a nature reserve. YOU DIDN'T SOLVE IT, NATE. YOU HEAR ME, NATE? semi-formal intro to my(?) new au: the Reinhold Mystery Journey AU!!

based directly from @dearesthershel's (not so glowing) video essay on LMJ, i wanted to really take the idea and try and run with it!! details under cut~

RMJ officially takes place 16 years after the events of Unwound/Lost Future, Flora Layton Reinhold is a relatively well-known detective making rounds as following in her guardian's footsteps as a brilliant mystery solver. A now 32 year old Flora (formally known as Detective Layton by her peers, Flory by her 14 year-old sister Katrielle), having opened her office a year after UF/LF, is being given her assignments by the Chief Constable and soon-to-be Commissioner of the Yard, Barton.

Joining her is her assistant and now world-renowned journalist, Emmy Altava! Now 43, she's mellowed out quite a bit since the Azran Legacy (though she still hits and hits HARD). Summoned to Flora's side by an unknown individual, she vows to help the good detective however she can, either intellectually... or percussively.

Together, they're thrown into a myriad of cases dredging up places and faces both old and new, as each mystery resolved leads them ever closer to the cold case of the mysterious disappearances of the Professor and his blue-clad assistant years ago...
