So since Trumpists are getting mad enough about the jokes to actually cite their sources, I thought I'd put the source out into my left extremist commie faggot echo chamber, too.

The claim originates from an ACLU questionnaire she filled out for her 2020 presidential candidacy, specifically this section:

She wasn't given a new questionnaire for 2024, and has stated that while her policy on some things may have changed, her values had not. (This most likely means she moved more to the center to appease larger demographics and cut corners to reach compromises. The basic politician stuff.)

It boils down to this: If you're in prison, whether for "illegal" immigration or other crimes, you rely on the state to provide you with necessary amenities, like food and health care. Her argument isn't "hell yeah everyone in prison should get sex changes for free". It's "gender affirming surgery is a necessary medical procedure. If you are in the states care while this becomes necessary, the state should provide it." If you're outraged by your tax money being used on this, consider the massive amount of people being incarcerated in for-profit prisons, on your dime. Then ask yourself if maybe a prison reform might be in order.

Worth noting: In 2015, while Attorney General, Kamala Harris actually argued against providing gender-affirming surgery to an incarcerated trans woman, claiming that HRT and psychotherapy were sufficiently covering her medical needs. She has since obviously changed her stance and assumed responsibility. (I would like to take this moment to remind my fellow left extremist commie faggots that "willingness to learn and rethink your views" is infinitely more valuable than "perfect from the start and unwilling to listen to anyone")

So when debating with anti-choicers, I feel like pro-choice people usually go at things from the wrong angle? Because we can deliver as many nuanced and in depth essay length arguments as we want on bodily autonomy, consent, and what the actual definition of life is (for those curious, the short version is heartbeats are irrelevant brain activity is the definer), but the fact remains is that pro-life people? They don’t give a shit, and they’re never going to listen. They don’t care about basic human rights and bodily autonomy. They never have, and they never will, because they’re not overly invested in protecting children, they prefer to punish people with vaginas who dare to have sex that isnt specifically to make a baby.

So let’s put all that aside, because a lot can be talked about there, and switch tracks to a different form of debate. Because when people have shitty viewpoints, debating the moral, legal, ethical, and just straight up practical fallacies in their desires? That rarely goes anywhere, because they’re not prepared to listen to why their plans can never possibly work, and eventually you’re just telling a brick wall the same arguments everyones brought out a thousand times.

So let’s ignore all the practical issues, and say hypothetically, anti-choicers got their wish. Abortion becomes globally banned, every single back alley provider is stopped, and desperate pregnant people never cause near-suicidal damage to themselves in an attempt to terminate the pregnancy. So... what’s the plan now?

Because unwanted pregnancies are not going to stop. They’re actually going to skyrocket in this situation, because anti-choicers REALLY hate Planned Parenthood, to the point of every single PP clinic getting regular terrorist attacks, including the ones that dont provide abortions, so this fantasy has no more PP, but their biggest service isnt abortions, its providing birth control. So in this scenario, there is considerably less birth control, and considerably less information on how to properly use it, because again weirdly enough anti-choice crowds also tend to be anti-birth control, and spread some stunningly wrong ‘facts’ about it. So there’s no system in place to stop people from getting pregnant accidentally, and there’s no choice but to give birth once they do. What’s your plan for handling all these unwanted babies? Because most unwanted pregnancies? They’re from people who are lower class, or below the poverty line. They don’t want to be pregnant because there is no possible way they can afford a baby, and they fucking know it. So a lot of babies are getting dumped straight into the foster system, which anyone can tell you is already too full, underfunded, and a terrible way for children to grow up. Are you prepared to hold daily protests outside of the senate with graphic signs about baby killers until they improve the foster system? 

And for the people who don’t give up their unwanted babies for adoption, what’s the plan for them? Because these people can barely cover food and rent for themselves, there’s no possible way they can keep a baby alive without assistance. These people spend almost all of their time working or sleeping; whose making sure they have daycare? America is one of three countries on the entire fucking planet that doesn’t provide maternity leave (other two are Lesotho and Papa New Guinea; thats right fucking North Korea and Saudi Arabia both have more compassion and respect for new parents than America does), whose going to cover the bills when people give birth if there’s complications that dont let them get back to work right away? They’re living paycheck to paycheck here, missing work (which in most cases gets them fired) and having to deal with hospital bills will literally kill them. Whose paying for diapers, toys, clothes, food, books, childcare, education? Because this child is not going away after infancy. It’s a living person now; they need to be provided for for 18 years, and there is not a chance in hell their parent can do so. And toys and books are not optional, because if a human being doesn’t have enrichment as a child? They end up with permanent brain damage, and can never function properly in society. That’s kind of how the brain works; it needs things around it to develop properly. More so for these children, because again, they’ve got single parents that work all day, and never wanted them in the first place, and a fair chunk of those parents will not be subtle about that detail. If they dont recieve regular interesting and positive stimuli, there’s going to be a pre-pubescent suicide epidemic, a sequence of words so horrifying I almost didn’t want to type it. And lets not even get started on housing, because these people are living in the cheapest apartments they can find, and the majority of those have hard bans on children of any kind, so now you’ve got a homeless parent and baby, and unless someone gives them a home, that infant’s gonna starve or die of exposure before its first birthday.

So what’s the support plan? Because you’re forcing these people to give birth to unwanted children; you don’t get to fuck off once the birth happens. You’ve caused a life to be brought into the world, so now it’s your fucking responsibility as well. If no abortions happen, there are one metric fuckton of children being born that their parents cant or wont take care of, and guess whose volunteered themselves to step up? You. Hope you’re good at lobbying, because the american welfare system regularly fails to provide for people below poverty today; its not going to handle a mass exodus of people having kids while impoverished and single parents dropping under the line. And I think it’s undeniable that the american government would rather fucking choke than do more than the bare minimum for poor people, so fixing that is an uphill battle.

You want less abortions to happen? Cool, so do we. Abortions are just a symptom of the problem though, and they will keep fucking happening until the root cause is fixed. Make a safety net, fund social services, make birth control and birth control information readily available, make sure every single teenager receives sex ed that isnt just ‘women are like gum and if you have sex you got chewed and nobody will ever want you’ (an actual thing they teach in actual schools). Work to dismantle the stigma around single parents and pregnant teenagers, make sterilization something women can actually ask for and receive, hold men accountable for their actions. Put rapists in prison, and stop letting them get split custody of children they made with the person they raped (another thing that actually happens). 

I know bombing abortion clinics and ruining peoples lives is super easy, and your preferred method, but guess what? It’s not working. It’s just creating more misery all around, and getting more people killed. You want to end abortion? Then get off your ass, put down that dead baby sign, and actually get to work, or just admit that your real agenda is trying to stop people with vaginas from using said vaginas for anything other than getting a husband and making a baby.
