I mean, I've been saying that since Season one, but some people want to argue that Jayce was not forced into anything (As if that's not how manipulation works.) Sure doesn't help that she's older.

Okay, hold it right there. 😌 I didn't fight this hard to prove Jayce's innocence so that you guys can demonise Mel. She's a product of her upbringing, okay? Her mother, bless her heart, sucks with love. Controlling Jayce was what Mel thought would keep him safe from harm, and it did help his business flourish...at the cost of his morals.

And the scene where Jayce argues with her in Season 2, everyone keeps misinterpreting what was happening there.

He's not upset cause he got manipulated (okay he's partly upset about that) but he's more upset that she saved him. So he's trying to figure out.....why? Why him? If he was truly nothing more than a tool, then why had she saved him? What was he to her? What more did she want from him?

"You used me AND Viktor." Is not him saying she doesn't care, but he's asking why he was prioritsed over Viktor, when he cannot function without his partner. If she really wanted to keep using them, then why had she not saved Viktor? Or had she thought he was the only one worth keeping?

As much as I love the scene that came right after that, I really wished they'd finished their conversation. Cause Jayce just pushed it aside and focused on what he had to do to save Viktor now, and it was like they just let the entire conversation drop.

He felt so confused and unsure and traumatised. And I feel sorry for him.

Simon’s lips are firm, but startlingly gentle. The hand he has on Kyle’s jaw tips his head just so, and he barely stifles a groan as Simon’s tongue teases against his bottom lip. The rumble of contentment he lets out shakes Kyle down to his bones. Whatever sound pushes past his lips at that must be what Simon’s looking for, though, because he deepens the kiss to something filthy. It’s everything Kyle’s ever imagined and more.

He just wishes he knew why they were kissing.

“Wait, wait,” Kyle says, when Simon’s other hand drifts down. He chokes as Simon’s thumb swipes over the fly of his jeans. “Wait, Simon, what’s going on?”

“Kissin’ m’ boyfriend.” The words, between pecks against the edge of Kyle’s jaw, set off alarm bells.

“Your what?”

That makes Simon lean back to meet his eyes. He looks hungry. “Whatever you like, love.”

Kyle rewinds the evening in his head. Unfortunately, he’s lost. “Huh?”

“You don’t like the word, we can use another one,” Simon says, patiently. He tips Kyle’s face up some more. “Mm. Y’re pretty, you know that?”

“Since when are you interested in dating me?”

Kyle’s never seen genuine confusion on Simon’s face before. It’s fascinating. After a beat, Simon says, “Since… you keep touching me? And holding my hand? And stealing my drinks? And we went on a date?”

On a what? “I don’t follow.”

“Which part?”

“All of it. Start from the beginning.”

“You touch me, all the time. Hold my hand at the bar and color in my tattoos,” Simon breathes, with a kiss to his eyebrow. “Tickled at first, but it’s nice, now. You wasn’t letting me finish a drink without drinkin’ half of it. And then we went on a date last Thursday.”

A bolt of realization makes Kyle’s jaw drop. “The new Thai spot? That was a date?”

Something about that makes Simon untangle them and take two steps back before Kyle can even register there’s something wrong. And there is something wrong. The man’s shoulders jump up to his ears as his hands dive into the pockets of his jacket. He hasn’t looked so fucking uncomfortable around Kyle since they met at the shop, years ago.

“Fuck, I’m sorry.” He avoids Kyle’s eyes as he talks. “I just… I guess I read the signs wrong.”

“Hey, no.” It’s a relief when Simon let’s himself be reeled a step closer, but he still avoids looking at Kyle directly. “’M sorry, that’s my bad. Soap and I were betting on who could get away with annoying you longest.”

“Right,” Simon says, and it should be impossible for such a large man to look so small. “Not flirting. Sorry.”

Feeling like a complete heel, Kyle reaches into Simon’s pocket to wrap his fingers around his wrist. “No, hey, Simon, don’t run away from me. ‘M always flirting with you.”

“It’s fine. It’s friend flirting. I get it.”

“Stealing your beer might have been friend flirting,” Kyle admits. He takes deep breath and lets it out before adding, “But bringing you pasties in the morning is just regular flirting.”

Simon’s lips press together, and he looks at Kyle from the corner of his eye. “You bring everyone something.”

“I bring you and Cap tea since Johnny and I stop for coffee in the mornings,” Kyle corrects with a smirk, reeling Simon a half-step closer. “But you’re the only one who gets food. Don’t I get your favorite?”

Cautiously, Simon settles one shoulder on the wall next to Kyle. “Yeah.”

“I didn’t think you were interested in me.” Kyle shrugs, gestures vaguely at the space between them. “I just thought you liked people touching you, just as friends. You hug Cap and wrestle with Johnny all the time.”

“I don’t mind Cap and Johnny,” Simon confesses with a soft smile. His shoulders relax a bit, and he looks less like he’ll punch through the bottoms of his pockets. “But I like when you touch me. You have nice hands. And you smell nice.”

“You notice my cologne?” Kyle wraps his fingers in the strings of Simon’s hoodie and reels him back into his space. He smirks as he tips his face up again. “I was trying to find one you’d like.”

He watches Simon’s pupils dilate, just a little. “I always notice. You wore a new one to the Thai place. Liked it.”

Kyle presses a quick kiss to the divot in Simon’s chin. “I had a really nice time on Thursday.” He catches the corner of Simon’s lips with his own. “And I like holding your hand and drinking your beer.”

“You could drink less of my beer.”

Kyle grins. “Can I kiss my boyfriend?”

“Yeah,” Simon breathes. He sighs, slotting his lips against Kyle’s. “You could do that.”

I think... I think Jinx needs to bring Isha home. whatever remains of her. I think she needs to parallel Silco, in carrying her daughter, but the newfound self control Isha has given her, and the memories of the hell that was her resurrection and it's aftermath, will keep her from making her father's mistake. so she will carry her home and away from the chaos.

and I think Sevika needs to take her. like she had back in the prison. taking her and protecting her so Jinx can rage. and so she can drive and say goodbye, because that was her daughter too, in a way. she never said it allowed or made the conscious effort. but that was her girl.

she needs to parallel the last moment she had with Isha. she needs to show a softness and vulnerability that comes with a mother, older and wiser and more calloused by life, taking up the hard duty of accepting and tending the dead. her dead. her child.

she protects Jinx in this, by taking Isha away and out of sight. letting Jinx breathe. letting her crumble. without risking Isha's safety. Jinx will fight her and she will say "you trust me with her once, yeah? trust me again?", and Jinx will accept. she'll hand her over like she's handing over something made of the most fragile glass and tissue paper and cotton floss.

and then Sevika gets a moment alone. a moment to accept this. and then she, this character who has always been rough and tough and full of grit and spit, who has been strong and violent, by choice and by her circumstances, in almost every scene she has ever had, to be gentle and quiet and grieving.

burial is not a luxury that many Zaunites get, but Sevika will find a way to make do. she'll tend her girl, both of her girls, and they will give Isha rest and peace. but for a moment she just needs to stare down at the broken body beneath her and accept that this is real.

all those years of thinking one day she would lose Jinx, never getting attached, and yet it was the girl that gave her hope that she loses? she wasn't there to protect her? the own she truly accepted this time around, to ensure she didn't fail her like she failed Jinx, and she loses her the second she's out of her immediate grasp? she didn't get to say goodbye? she needs a second.

and then she'll be there for Jinx, and watch her crumble and break and lose herself.

and she'll have moments alone where she doesn't know what to do with the pain in her heart.

and they will think of their girl.

and that will be that.

it would bring their arc all the way around.

Jinx can and will go mad, but not when she could hurt her baby. Sevika will be gentle. they will be mother and daughter in their grief. because Isha changed them for the better.

You mentioned you had thoughts on art in iwtv? Something about Louis and photography?

yes, i did! in this post, i had a brief aside about louis and photography in comparison to daniel. a quick warning, i'm pretty black and white about good and bad art in this, that's not something that works in life about art. for the sake of this though, bear with me.

art and vampires is a really interesting topic; almost all the main cast has some point of connection to the arts. marius and painting, lestat with acting and music, louis with photography, armand with directing the theatre. claudia and journalling. i'm going to count daniel's journalism here too, i'll come back to that a little later.

specifically, these are all ways to connect to the world around them, and almost all of them fail spectacularly. marius' works haven't really survived him, he is an unknown name among his venetian contemporaries. lestat is not perceived as being "a real vampire", instead someone running off the clout of daniel's book. louis is desperately trying to connect to the world, but the only "good" work of his portfolio is someone else's.

and a very specific aspect of their artworks are an attempt to mimic, capture, and connect to life and living. and even more specifically, they're all failing.

marius as a painter, had to stage his references. each painting is a facsimile of a staged moment. it's noted that his works are often references to other, more esteemed painters. he has the skill, but is missing the eye required. marius is only ever creating imitations. there is no connection there, no understanding. his work is beautiful, certainly, he loved his aesthetics and maintained them through painting, but it is, at the end of it, a failed connection. he isn't actually interacting with the world, with life and humanity, he's still locked away in his tower crafting an idea of life that he thinks looks beautiful to the eye.

lestat, as an actor, is always performing; all the world's a stage. there is a struggle for genuine connections because he cannot move beyond the role he's assigned himself. his interactions with humans is coloured by the the person he is attempting to be within those interactions, and it leaves him unable to be genuine. we get little flashes of him being honest, such as the conversation with louis' family in early s1, with big emotions, but there is always an element of public performance. when he becomes a rock star, his attempts at honesty are twisted on him because of the book. it's not the vampire lestat, it's lestat the vampire from the book interview with the vampire. it's twisted into another role to play. a chance at connection lost.

armand is interesting, as he's been the subject of paintings, never true manifestations of himself, but as a role, an aesthetic. then, of course, he also directs -- and sometimes performs -- at the théâtre des vampires. he structures the performance in the same way that he leads conversations. there is an ideal outcome, a way that allows the audience the best experience, that portrays the right themes. his interactions with everyone are played like this. he pulls the strings; once more with feeling. there is no connection there, he sees players, not people. even the way he hunts has a script; gentleman death. armand also seeks this in other people. i've spoken about it a lot here, how he tries to live vicariously through other people, and i think this is only exemplified by his attitudes as a director.

louis' photography is the most literal translation to completely missing the point of his form. photography is meant to capture moments; there is something about photography as a medium that works so well in a connecting with humanity and life. to take a photo, and make the moment live forever. however for louis, it isn't. the best shot he captures in the show is a moment of vulnerability from armand, a spur of the moment shot that does successfully capture him. but he captured an immortal, his subject is going to live forever. and he walks each night looking for photographs to take. his camera is up at all times, he is not living in the moment, not living life. he's put a literal barrier between him and the world at large.

another little aside, but there's also something to be said about the way louis views art, as a dealer. he isn't viewing artwork for arts sake, he is looking at it for profit, and i think this is also a big tell about how he views the world.

daniel is an interesting aspect of this. he has spent his life succeeding at connecting with life. looking for stories about people who have slipped through the cracks. he knows people, how they live, how they love. he's seen the worst and best of humanity, and how complicated people are, and i think that while he has a distance between him and his subjects, there is a connection there that the others cannot make. this makes his transition into vampirism really interesting; will he maintain this level of connection? will he keep living? can he?

her friends end up dead and she's still got their voices in her head telling her who and what she is. Silco spends the rest of his life telling her who she is to him. one city is telling her shes a terrorist and the other that she's a savior. even Isha is the one who 'adopted' Jinx, deciding that they would have a relationship—Jinx just go to decide what that looks like

I don't even have a point to this, just. the relationship with Isha and the touching her shoulders scene could both be seen as moments of growth for Jinx—people rely on her, they trust her, they believe in her, and she seems to believe it for the first time since Vi returned—but they're also just more instances of other people telling her who she should be

No because. How can you say it's a red flag.

You are saying that because you think qCellbit, speaking for his husband, is doing something wrong? And how do you know that? He's trying his best to protect him, not control him.

I've never ever seen qCellbit trying to control qRoier in anyway shape or form. Actually he's pretty nice, he's chill about Roier. If he was controlling he'd start following him around, he'd ask what Roier is doing 24/7, controlling his every decision. He's literally doing the exact opposite, do you remember before the marriage how Cellbit would kill instantly anyone talking about the election around him but as soon as Roier asked if he could, Cellbit reply was just "You can talk about whatever you want"? Because I do.

And they actually discussed the prison thing.

Roier didn't know about the imprisonment of Pac and Mike, that's exactly why he said yes in the first place. Then he said that Foolish wouldn't imprison him because The Federation wouldn't ask him to.

i wonder what this means

we know judgeman's appearance is similar to lady justice, who has a blindfold over her eyes, to represent impartial or blind justice. it's interesting that during sukuna's trial, and subsequent death penalty veredict, the stitches break on one side and that eye opens. something that didn't happen during the first death penalty delivered to yuuji despite both eyes opening up. we know everything higuruma is aware about his own ct, and ce in general, he grasped through reverse engeneering. his surprise about judgeman confiscating sukuna's cursed tool and not the cursed technique highlights that higuruma is only aware of his own technique due to things he was able to experience and deduce from the short time that has passed since he became a sorcerer. it's safe to say he had never persecuted someone who used a cursed tool before and therefore was unaware of this aspect of his technique (similar situations have happened before to characters like geto and even the way mahoraga works). this makes me wonder if judgeman's abilities are something we and higuruma have limited information on and there's something else going on, hinting at a possible outcome for higuruma/higuruma's character.

judgeman's eye opening is especially interesting because that is exactly the stance higuruma decided to take once he lost faith in the justice system. jujutsu kaisen and the concept of cursed energy and cursed techniques are very based in buddhist philosophy, or rather the power system is, and more specifically the concept of suffering. buddha recognised there was suffering in life and started guiding people into following a practice to get rid of that suffering, through the four noble truths the noble eightfold path. which ultimately would result in liberation from the samsara, cycle of rebirth and suffering. a lot of that lifestyle is learning how to properly process suffering in a way that's beneficial to the individual with the goal of achieving enlightment. in jjk suffering directly creates cursed energy and when that suffering sort of accumulates it originates cursed spirits. jujutsu sorcerers are basically people able to process their own suffering and their own ce to fight and exorcise the suffering that's constantly emerging from humanity (tying deeply with the core theme of jjk and a big plot point - the merging). you could even draw parallels between ways individuals cope with their own pain and their cursed techniques, which is very obvious in characters like geto (ingesting curses through cursed spirit manipulation akin to bottling up his own feelings and letting that suffering eat him from the inside out), for example. where am i going with this? i'm not sure (sorry if you read all of this expecting a really cool theory) but what if this is sort of an awakening moment for higuruma? a moment where his technique will finally align with his beliefs? i just don't believe the differences in judgeman throughout the story are a coincidence. not when judgeman also has this form, with both its eyes completely shut.

Hello! That's so fair, my Odette writings do not offer a lot of description for them! They do have their own tag [HERE] although not much is in it, currently. Some of the screenshots I'm including here and the writings which you've already seen! I'm very sorry for how rambling this is but None is where a lot of alts and relationships spawn from! None is neither a miqo'te nor a service animal (though I think they'd give a huff at the title)! None is the saddest creature in the whole world, a widower, Odette's favorite lil guy, Gerry's estranged step-parent, and a Lalafell:

A Lalafell ranger who makes their living guiding people through the Shroud. These days they are 'mostly' retired. They're well past their middle age and when they were younger they made a deal with sylphs. To be fleet-footed and quick and the best hunter. It came with some side effects:

They wear a hat to cover the ears. It's a bit silly to have two sets and, frankly, None doesn't wanna talk about it. They are stoic, pragmatic, and a bit of a hermit when they can afford it. None is a widower, their late wife was an duskwight woman named Aloutte, who was a widow herself with a young child; Geraldine. None and Gerry were never close and in the wake of Aloutte's passing that distant only grew. None and Odette met at the Menphina temple she was raised at. The Sisters there offer grief counseling and when Aloutte first fell sick she made them go to make the transition easier. A child at the time, Odette was obsessed from the moment they met. A pale shadow trailing after them. Where None failed with Gerry, they bonded with Odette. After Aloutte's passing None returned to the temple to live long term, some grievers need more support than others, they and Odette spent a lot of time together. They very much fill a uncle/aunt role for Odette; a trusted advisor who isn't the adults who raised her. When Odette took her vows and started to travel it was None who traveled with her, taught her basic outdoors skills, bought her Beauty and taught her how to care for chocobos. When Odette has to leave her flock of karakul to travel it is None she calls to care for them. Also, while Aloutte's loss and the grief that follows is very important to None as a character I feel it is important to note they were the saddest creature in the whole world before they knew the warmth of Aloutte's embrace! Sometimes you're just born with a heavy heart, you know? Because of how important they are to Odette. Odile... fucking hates their guts. Oooh, she hates their guts so much!!! The feeling is mutual and Odile and None have come to blows a few times. Something they both keep from Odette; None because they don't want to make her worry, Odile because she'll use the information to drive a wedge at some point. None also features in Odette's WoL AU, they're an honorary scion and spend most of their time with the other off-screen members. They spend time with Krile and Tatatru discussing lalafell things and I like to imagine that F'lhaminn and None have a lot to talk about. This is... pretty long so I will stop here! But I hope this satisfies some curiosity about None and thank you SO MUCH for asking about them!
