Best friends, better lovers

Pairing: nishimura riki x fem¡reader
Sypnosis: Niki and Y/N have been best friends since childhood, their bond growing deeper with every shared memory. But as they enter high school, something shifts. The playful glances, lingering touches, and unspoken chemistry build a tension neither can ignore. As their feelings evolve from innocent friendship to undeniable desire, they must decide whether to risk their friendship for a chance at love or lose it all. The question is: can they walk away, or will they cross the line into something far more complicated?
Warnings: oral sex, light degradation, smut, use of pet name ‘daddy’ etc.
Niki and Y/N had been inseparable since before they could even remember, the kind of friends who knew each other so well it was like they shared one mind. Their parents had been friends since college, moving into the same neighborhood shortly after getting married. They often joked that Niki and Y/N had met before they were even born—bonded through countless shared moments, from baby showers to family vacations.
Growing up, they were practically glued together. From playing hide-and-seek in each other’s backyards to building pillow forts during sleepovers, there wasn’t a single memory that didn’t include the other. By the time they hit middle school, they were known as the dynamic duo, always side by side, laughing at their own inside jokes that no one else could understand.
They’d spent entire summers together exploring the woods behind their houses, riding their bikes down to the corner store for popsicles, and sitting on the dock by the lake, feet dipped in the cool water as they talked about everything under the sun. Their parents adored their bond, always commenting on how lucky they were to have found such a close friend so early in life.
One summer afternoon, when they were about fifteen, they lay on a patch of grass in the park, watching the clouds drift by. Niki turned his head to look at Y/N, noticing the way the sunlight filtered through her hair, making it glow.
“Hey,” he said suddenly, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Yeah?” Y/N glanced at him, shielding her eyes from the sun.
“You ever think about what we’re gonna do when we get older?” he asked, his tone uncharacteristically serious.
Y/N frowned slightly, caught off guard. “Like what? College, jobs, stuff like that?”
“Yeah,” Niki said, his gaze drifting back to the sky. “And other stuff too, like if we’ll still be hanging out as much. If we’ll still be… this close.”
Y/N rolled onto her side, propping herself up on one elbow to look at him. “Of course we will, Niki. Why wouldn’t we be?”
Niki shrugged, looking thoughtful. “I don’t know. I just feel like everything’s changing lately.”
She didn’t realize then what he meant—how his feelings for her had started to shift, moving from innocent friendship to something deeper, more complicated. At the time, she simply laughed, giving his shoulder a playful shove.
“Stop being dramatic,” she teased. “You’re stuck with me whether you like it or not.”
He grinned at that, a wide, boyish smile that made her heart flutter in a way she couldn’t quite understand.
High school hit like a whirlwind, and everything did start to change. They still walked to school together every morning, earbuds shared as they listened to music, sometimes singing along, their voices mingling in a way that felt like home. Their friends would joke about them being like an old married couple, and while Y/N would laugh it off, she couldn’t help the way her cheeks flushed, her heart beating a little faster when she looked at Niki.
One day after school, they headed to Y/N’s house to study. It was a typical scene: her mom was in the kitchen, humming to herself while making dinner, the scent of freshly baked cookies wafting through the house. Niki made himself at home, as usual, flopping onto Y/N’s bed and opening up his textbook.
“Did you even take notes today?” Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow as she glanced over at him.
Niki smirked, flipping through the blank pages. “Does it look like I did?”
Y/N rolled her eyes, laughing. “You’re hopeless.”
“That’s why I have you,” he said, flashing her a grin that made her heart skip a beat.
She ignored the flutter in her chest, trying to focus on her homework. But it was hard when he was so close, the bed dipping under his weight as he leaned over to peek at her notebook.
“Y/N,” he said quietly after a moment, his voice serious. She glanced up, surprised to see the thoughtful look on his face.
“What is it?”
He hesitated, as if searching for the right words. “Do you ever think about… us? Like, how everyone always jokes about us being together?”
Y/N felt her cheeks heat up. She forced a laugh, trying to brush it off. “They just like teasing us because we’ve been friends forever.”
“Yeah, but,” Niki said, his gaze intense, “do you ever wonder if there’s more to it than that?”
Her breath caught in her throat. She hadn’t expected this—hadn’t expected him to actually voice the questions she’d been pushing to the back of her mind. “I don’t know,” she said quietly. “Maybe sometimes.”
The moment stretched between them, charged with something new and unfamiliar. Before either of them could say anything else, Y/N’s mom called from the kitchen.
“Dinner’s ready, you two! Come on down!”
The tension broke, and they both laughed nervously, standing up to head downstairs. The rest of the evening was filled with easy conversation and laughter, but that moment lingered in Y/N’s mind long after Niki had gone home.
As the weeks went by, it became harder and harder to ignore the shift in their relationship. They found themselves touching more often—Niki’s hand lingering on the small of her back as they walked, Y/N’s fingers brushing against his when they passed each other things. It felt like they were both testing the waters, seeing how far they could go before they fell in completely.
One Friday, after a particularly long school day, Y/N was at her locker, grabbing her books for the weekend. Niki leaned against the locker next to hers, watching her with a look she couldn’t quite decipher.
“Hey,” he said softly, “want to get out of here?”
Y/N glanced up, surprised. “Where to?”
He shrugged, his smile turning playful. “Anywhere. Let’s just skip the rest of the day. We could go to the lake, get some ice cream… just the two of us.”
She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Yeah, okay. Let’s go.”
They ended up by the lake, sitting on the dock with their feet dangling over the edge, the sun beginning to set over the water. The air was warm, a gentle breeze rustling the leaves. They sat in comfortable silence for a while, watching the sky turn shades of pink and orange.
“Niki,” Y/N finally said, breaking the silence, “what’s going on with us?”
He turned to her, his expression serious. “I don’t know,” he admitted. “But I can’t stop thinking about you. And not just as my best friend.”
She felt her heart pound in her chest. “I can’t stop thinking about you either,” she whispered. “It’s been driving me crazy.”
Niki moved closer, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek gently. “Then maybe we should stop thinking,” he murmured.
Before she could respond, he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, tentative kiss. It was slow, sweet—like a promise. When they finally pulled apart, they were both breathing hard, foreheads resting against each other.
“Y/N,” Niki whispered, his voice raw with emotion, “I love you. I think I’ve always loved you.”
Y/n smiles softly and blushes. “I love you too, Niki. I was just too scared to say it.”
Niki smiled, pressing his lips to hers again, more confidently this time. He pulled back, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and desire. “Come with me,” he said softly, his hand squeezing hers.
Y/N nodded, letting him lead her back to the school. They slipped through the halls, his hand tight around hers, until they reached a quiet, secluded corner near the janitor’s closet. He glanced at her, his expression almost shy as he opened the door and pulled her inside.
The door clicked shut behind them, and in the dim, confined space, it felt like the whole world had narrowed down to just the two of them. They stood there, breathless, as the weight of their words hung in the air, a promise of what was to come.
In the dimly lit janitor's closet, the air thick with the scent of floor cleaner and underlying tension, Niki backed Y/N against the cold, concrete wall. His tall frame towered over her, his broad shoulders blocking out the faint light seeping from beneath the door.
"You've been driving me crazy all day," Niki growled, his voice a harsh whisper. His hands, rough from years of sports and manual labor, gripped her wrists and pinned them above her head. She gasped, her back arching, breasts pressing against his firm chest.
"Shh, we can't make a sound," he murmured, his thumb pressing against her lips. His other hand snaked down her body, squeezing her breast through her shirt before sliding down to hike up her skirt.
His fingers are trembling as he pushed her against the wall, his hand slipping beneath her skirt, his thick arm wrapped around her slender thigh. The janitor's closet door slammed shut, the sound echoing through the empty hallway, before he roughly spread her legs apart and dropped to his knees.
He pulled her skirt up and buried his face between her thighs, his nose pressing against her soaked panties. Y/N let out a muffled scream against his shoulder as he devoured her pussy, his tongue delving deep inside her tight, clenched hole, lapping up her juices.
With a low groan, Niki tore her panties off, the fabric ripping easily in his strong hands. He tossed the ruined garment aside and dove back in, his tongue flicking rapidly over her swollen clit. Y/N's hips bucked involuntarily, her pussy dripping with arousal.
"Daddy, please," she whimpered, her voice hoarse from suppressed screams. Niki looked up, his eyes dark with lust, and wrapped his arms around her thighs, pulling her pussy flush against his mouth. He held her there, his nose buried in her cunt, his tongue fucking her relentlessly.
Y/N's legs started to shake as Niki's tongue pounded into her, his mouth making loud, sloppy noises against her soaked pussy. She cried out, the sound muffled by her own hand pressed against her mouth as she struggled to contain the loud moans escaping her throat.
Niki stood abruptly, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He grabbed Y/N's wrists and spun her around, shoving her face-first against the cold wall. She yelped as he flipped her skirt up, revealing her glistening bare pussy. "Take a good fucking,"
"You're gonna take my thick meat like a good girl, aren't you?" Niki hissed into her ear, his hands rough as he spread her cheeks apart. He spat on her hole, his thumb rubbing the saliva in, loosening her up just enough. "You're so tight, Y/N."
"I-I'm... I'm so tight for you, d-daddy," Y/N stammered, her breath hitching as he slowly pushed his thick fingers inside her. Niki chuckled darkly, his other hand gripping her hair tightly. "That's right, baby girl."
"Your holes are mine to play with, isn't that right, Y/N?" Niki growled, his abs tensing as he slowly slid his fingers in and out of her. She nodded eagerly, her words muffled against his palm as he covered her mouth. "Good girl."
Niki unbuckled his belt with one hand, keeping the other wrapped tightly around Y/N's mouth. His pants fell to the floor, revealing his hard, sculpted thighs and the bulge straining against his boxers. He slowly lowered them, his thick, hard length slapping against his abs.
"Look at what you do to me, Y/N. This is all for you," Niki breathed, stroking his cock. He slapped the head against her ass, leaving a glistening smear of precum. Y/N moaned desperately under his hand, pushing her hips back for more contact.
Niki gripped his throbbing shaft, rubbing the swollen tip teasingly along Y/N's dripping slit. "Beg for it, slut," he commanded, his voice a low rasp. "Tell Daddy how badly you need his big cock stretching out your tight cunt."
"P-please, d-daddy, I n-need it, I n-need your big c-cock inside me!" Y/N begged, her words frantic and muffled against his palm. Niki smiled, his abs flexing as he lined up his massive dick with her soaked pussy.
"You're gonna take it all, Y/N. Every thick inch, you understand?" Niki hissed, slowly pushing into her. She whimpered beneath his hand, her nails scrambling against the wall for purchase as he stretched her wide. "Nod if you understand!"
Y/N nodded eagerly, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes as Niki's fat head popped past her entrance. "Good girl," he purred, his hand tightening around her mouth as he began to push in further. "Daddy's gonna fuck this tight little cunt until you can't walk straight."
Niki slowly fed his thick, pulsating shaft into Y/N's quivering hole, his powerful hips flexing with each inch he sank deeper. She writhed against the wall, her legs kicking helplessly as he stretched her painfully wide.
"Shhh, just take it, you cock-hungry whore," Niki whispered harshly, his palm muffling Y/N's desperate whimpers as he continued to drive his massive dick into her tight channel. Her pussy fluttered and clenched around him, trying to accommodate his girth.
"I-I can't... it's too b-big, d-daddy!" Y/N gasped, her voice muffled against his sweaty palm. Niki shushed her harshly, his voice a low growl against her ear. "You can take it, you little greedy thing."
As Niki's thick cock continued to stretch and fill her, Y/N's moans began to change. The initial pain transformed into intense, overwhelming pleasure. "Mmmm... y-yes, d-daddy! Your c-cock feels s-so good!"
"Fuck, you're loving this, aren't you, you little slut?" Niki sneered, his hips snapping forward to bury himself balls-deep inside her. Y/N moaned loudly against his hand, her body shaking with pleasure. "More, daddy, p-please!"
"You want more, baby girl? You want Daddy to pound this tight little hole until you can't think straight?" Niki hissed, his hand tightening around her mouth as he began to thrust harder and faster, his hips like a jackhammer.
Y/N nodded frantically, her eyes rolling back in her head as Niki's brutal fucking sent her spiraling into ecstasy. "Y-yes, daddy, p-please, f-fuck me harder! Make me your good little girl!" She screamed against his palm, her voice muffled but desperate.
Niki growled, his muscular body slamming against Y/N's as he pounded into her mercilessly. The wet, obscene sounds of flesh slapping against flesh filled the room, punctuated by her muffled moans. "Take it, you cock-craving whore!"
"Mmmm... m-more, d-daddy, g-give me m-more!" Y/N begged, her body convulsing as another wave of pleasure crashed over her. She could feel every ridge, every vein of Niki's massive member as he stretched her wide and filled her completely.
Niki's powerful thrusts became relentless, his sculpted abs slamming against Y/N with increasing force as he drove her towards the edge of oblivion. "That's it, slut. Cum for Daddy. Cum all over Daddy's big cock!"
Y/N's eyes rolled back, her vision blurring as the pressure built to a breaking point. With a scream muffled against Niki's palm, she came violently, her pussy clamping down on his throbbing dick as she spasmed through her intense orgasm. "A-ahh~ daddy~..”
Niki's hand slid down from Y/N's mouth to cover her throat, squeezing possessively as he continued to piston in and out of her quivering body. His powerful thighs slapped against hers as he pounded through her release. "Look at you, taking Daddy's big load so well."
Y/N's head lolled back onto Niki's shoulder, her breath hitching as he continued to stretch and fill her with long, thick strokes. "D-Daddy, it's so big... you're f-filling me up..."
"That's right, baby girl," Niki growled, his voice low and smug. "And when I'm done, I'm going to pull out and watch my warm, creamy seed drip out of your well-fcked little hole." He punctuated each word with a slow, deliberate thrust.
Y/N's eyes fluttered shut, her entire body relaxing against Niki's powerful form as he continued to pump in and out of her. "P-Promise, d-daddy? P-Promise you'll pull out and w-watch it d-drip out?"
Oh, I promise, my dirty little slut," Niki purred, his teeth grazing the shell of her ear. "I'm going to fill this tight cunt to the brim and then watch every last drop leak out. You want that, don't you?"
Feeling immensely satisfied, Niki slowly extracted his slick member from Y/N's thoroughly ravaged pussy with a wet plop. True to his word, he watched intently as pearly strands of his cum began to ooze out of her swollen lips. "There's a good girl,"
After cleaning up and helping Y/N redress, Niki took her hand and walked with her to class, his expression unreadable. As they entered the bustling lecture hall, he leaned in close, his voice barely a whisper. "Remember, not a word to anyone."
Y/N nodded meekly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks as she took her seat. Throughout the lecture, she squirmed slightly, hyper-aware of the sticky residue between her thighs and the dull ache in her thoroughly used core.
As the professor wrapped up the lecture and dismissed the class, Y/N stole a glance at Niki. Their eyes met, and despite the taboo nature of their shared secret, they both suppressed grins, silently acknowledging the unspoken bond between them.
That evening, as Y/N arrived home with Niki following behind, her mother eyed them suspiciously from the kitchen doorway. "Well, well, what have we here?" She asked, her gaze flicking between the two of them. "You two seem awfully...close."
She paused, her brow furrowing slightly as she continued to scrutinize them. "And Y/N, you're walking a little...unsteadily. Like you're sore. Have you two been...?" Her voice trailed off, but her eyes widened slightly as if realizing the unthinkable.
Y/N's face flushed a deep crimson, and she glanced nervously at Niki before stammering, "M-mom, it's nothing! We were just talking and laughing, that's all!" But her mother's gaze remained locked onto hers, and Y/N knew she wasn't fooling her.
Her mom laughs and both her and Niki both blush deeply.

Some concept art for a discarted comic idea.
But I ended up adapting the script to a fanfic! (It's a little rough and I'm new to writing, so any feedback is welcome) Omori spoilers ahead.
The events of this story happens sometime after Mari's funeral.
///
It's sunset time with blue and soft pink tints all over the urban scenery. Basil is finishing tying up the velcro of his sandals to go out. Grabbing the door knob, he turns his head back to leave one final message before leaving.
"I'll be back soon, grandma!"
There's a chilling breeze outside and the streets are eerily empty. But Basil prefer this way. His head is full of thoughts, he needs the space. Approaching his destination, he stops looking at the sidewalk and lifts his head. He finally spot a living soul a bit ahead of him.
It's Kel. He's in front of Sunny's house. Kel seems to hesitate for a while, but gathers courage and knocks on the door. He vigorously give three consecutive knocks.
"That's a bit too much." Basil observes. Good old Kel.
It doesn't take too long for the door to open, and Sunny's mom appears. She has a dull look in her eyes. She's tired.
"Oh, it's you, Kelsey…" She looks over his shoulder. "and Basil."
Kel also looks back. Basil is suddenly there, a few steps of distance.
"What can I do for you two?"
"Uh." Kel is a little surprised with Basil's presence, but figured out he came for the same reason as him. "Can I- Can we talk to Sunny?"
"Hm…" She looks away before answering. "He's a little more unresponsive than usual..."
Basil feels a pinch of pain in his stomach.
"I wasn't able to talk to him since… the funeral." Kel fidgets a little. "I want to let him know he can count on us!"
Sunny's mom mouth corner's change to a soft, yet warm smile.
"Well, I'm sure he would appreciate to hear from you two, at least."
She steps back, opening the door welcoming the boys in. Kel perks up and calls Basil with a hand gesture. They enter the house.
"He's at their- at his room."
At the living room, the boys can see the glass door that leads to the backyard, highlighted with a menacing reddish orange light of the last sunrays. Kel immediatelly changes his attention to Sunny's mom back, while Basil has a hard time moving away his focus from it. They arrive at the staircase. Kel doesn't think twice and steps halfway through it. Basil freezes.
"Basil?" Kel calls out for him.
Basil tries to hide his anxiety and replies "C-coming!"
They are at front of Sunny's room, Sunny's mother a little further, to give the boys some space. Kel knocks the door, but this time, more gently.
"Sunny? It's Kel and Basil!" No reply.
Basil gives a quick look back at the staircase and Something starts crawling around him.
"Sunny." Kel starts again, leaning his hand on the door. "Sorry for not talking to you until now. But you know that we're here for you, right?" Kel sends a signal to Basil by raising his eyebrows and tilting his head towards the door, asking him to join.
Basil desperately tries to find the words. But the truth is, he wasn't expecting Sunny's mom, much less Kel's presence. It's not that he didn't have anything to say. He couldn't say anything he wanted to.
The creeping silence started to bother Kel, so he continued instead.
"Oh, I know! If you want, we can have a sleepover!" No reply. "Uh, it doesn't need to be anything fancy! We don't need to play games or eat snacks… We don't even need to talk. Just have each other's company, y'know?"
Kel smiled as he placed his other hand and ear to the door, waiting for the answer. He believed his idea was too good to be turned down. No reply.
"Sunny?" More silence.
Sunny's mom sighs, ready to call Kel and Basil back. Kel moves away from the door. He starts playing with his hoodie strings, looking a little less bright than before.
"Don't worry about it, it's okay." He did his best to hold a smile "I totally understand if you just need time alone."
"…like Hero." He completes under his breath, almost a whisper.
Another wave of silence. Is Sunny ignoring them? Is he even listening? Basil's mind go blank as he stares at the door.
"We'll come back tomorrow!" Kel bursts. The "we" took Basil by surprise.
"R-right! We'll be back tomorrow, Sunny." Basil faintly addes to the farewell.
Kel gives one last knock on the door, and starts walking away. Basil follows him.
"Oh, kids…"
"Can we really come back tomorrow?" Basil asks.
"Oh, yes, you may come… I'll let you know if he's available or not." It wasn't very reassuring.
After one last goodbye, the two boys leave the house. A few steps later, they stop in front of Kel's house. Before Basil could say anything, Kel apologizes.
"I'm sorry you couldn't say much. I hogged all the time for myself."
"N-not really. I wasn't sure what to say, anyway…"
"Isn't it strange, though? Sunny… He doesn't like to be alone, why would he…?" Kel stops and shakes his head. "We just have to try again tomorrow!" Kel smiles seems forced, Basil notices.
"W-well… See you tomorrow, then?"
"No, wait- let me walk you home!"
"O-okay." Basil let him be.
In the middle of the walk, Kel turns to Basil.
"I still didn't talk to Aubrey either. Did you?" Basil shakes his head. "I thought about visiting her too, but- I think I'm the last person she would want to see." Basil thought the same of himself, but kept silent about it.
Kel is a open book, he has no reason to hide his emotions and usually can be very blunt with his honesty. But something feels off today. Or since then. That day. Looking better, Basil notices Kel was using a navy colored hoodie at least two sizes larger than it should be. A small letter "H" was embroidered on it. Kel would use passed down clothes from Hero, but this one was clearly borrowed before its time.
He was lonely too.
Soon, Basil's home is right around the corner.
"Hm, actually." Basil starts. "I promised grandma I was going to buy a few things at the convenience store. Do you want to tag along…?" Kel snorts in reply. Was Basil trying to cheer him up?
"Sure, let's go! But let's be quick, mom won't like if I come home too late." He skips ahead.
"Wait! The store is on the opposite direction!"
"Oh!!"
///
It's night. Between the interval of a lightpost to another, Kel can't stand the silence anymore.
"Aah, I should have brought some pocket money!" He comes closer to Basil, using his hand to shield the conversation like he was about to confide a secret. "But I already spent all my allowance."
Basil wasn't expecting chit-chat, but wasn't too surprised either. It kind of gave him a sense of normality.
"…Hero always scolds me for spending it too quickly.
Like everything that happened was just a bad dream…
"But Mari would always treat me instead!"
A shiver passes through Basil's spine.
"Are you cold?" Kel opens his arms as invinting for a hug.
"No, I'm okay!"
Kel stops and rewinds what he just said.
"Sorry."
"N-no, don't be." Basil almost regrets calling Kel over. The uncomfortable silence is back, until Kel broke it again.
"I'll be more careful with my money from now on."
"?"
"So I can be the one who treat everyone out! How is that?"
"Are you sure you'll be able to do that?"
"What? You understimate me!!"
Basil slips a weak smile. Kel smiles back, like he planned it from the beggining. They continue their walk.
///
At the convenience store, Basil goes straight to what he went for. To kill time, Kel explores around until something take his attention at the candy area. Basil approaches too see what was so interesting. Kel only notices his presence after a while.
"Eek!" Kel was startled.
"…Are you going to ask for borrowed money?" Basil teases.
"No!! I was just looking… See, there's everyone's favorite flavor today…"
Basil identifies each flavor and silently pick them up.
They leave the store and Kel lifts his lollipop over his head.
"Basil, you're the best!" The compliment take Basil aback.
"It's just candy…"
"Yeah, it's just candy." Basil didn't expect him to agree so fast.
"It's the thought that counts!"
Basil just nods.
///
They arrive at Basil's house again.
"We're here!" Kel announces the obvious.
"Y-yeah."
Basil moves ahead to the door.
"See you tomorrow!!"
Basil stops.
"S-sure."
///
Basil is welcomed by his grandma with tea and cookies. Putting the groceries aside and with a cup in hands, he stares at the lollipops over the kitchen's table. Strawberry, watermelon and grape. He thinks back when Kel pointed that everyones flavors were available. All six of them. He shrugs the thought away.
Kel is on his way back, already appreciating his orange lollipop, while waving the cola flavored one in the air. He wonders when he'll be able to deliver the little gift. He wonders when he'll be able to talk to Hero again. Or to any of his friends for that matter. He shrugs the thought away.

I feel like Derek would be SO aware of Bug when she gets further along in the pregnancy. Anytime she winces due to a harsh kick or Braxton hick, he’s right there beside her. He makes a huge deal of it too, especially if he can’t be by her side immediately 😭 even asks Penelope to send him updates when he’s away
This takes place during the first pregnancy, when Bug is pregnant with Little Bug 🥰 I kinda took inspiration from that scene when JJ went into labor the first time around, I hope you like it <3
Side note, I literally interrogated my mom abt her pregnancy/labor experience for this one cause I don't have any 😭 but then she proceeded to ask if I HAD SOMETHING I WANTED TO TELL HER AKJSJSJDJ LIKE MOM NO I'M NOT PREGNANT I'm just writing a story plsss
Love Bugs Masterlist / Criminal Minds Masterlist
With your due date just around the corner, it felt like Derek was also constantly in your corner.
The week marked your first one on maternity leave. You had many objections over having to take a longer leave--how were you ever going to survive four long weeks at home doing nothing?--but after constant pestering from both your doctor and Derek, you relented.
"What is it? What's wrong?"
Derek was next to you in a flash, as per usual, after he had heard your wince. You were sure that the man was just in another room mere moments prior, yet the second he caught the tiniest sign of distress coming from you, he proceeded to transport himself towards your side.
"Nothing." You chuckled, trying to ease his mind. "Your son is just eager to practice his kicking skills today."
The frown on his forehead deepened. "Does it hurt?"
"It's not that bad."
"Are you sure?" Derek's hand sneaked on top of your belly, as if trying to tell your son to calm down before he could send another painful kick against your abdomen. "Are you sure it's even a kick? Maybe we should go to the--"
"Derek, I'm fine. Promise." You patted his hand that was still on top of yours, entangling them together. "Have you heard from Hotch about where you guys are going tomorrow?"
"Louisville, Kentucky." Derek seemed to ponder something in silence before he continued, "Should I ask Hotch to sit this one out?"
"What? Why would you do that?"
"I don't like being so far away from you." His hand squeezed around yours as he said it, as if trying to emphasize his point. "What if something happens?"
"Nothing is gonna happen, honey. I'm probably just gonna be sleeping half the time you're gone. You'll be bored as hell and wish that you were in Kentucky instead."
"I don't know. I kinda like watching you sleep."
"Good one, Mister. But still no," you said. "Everything's gonna be just fine. Trust me."
Derek wasn't entirely happy about it, but you managed to push him out of the door bright and early the next morning. In his absence, you had the whole house to yourself, and you used that opportunity to do anything to keep yourself out of boredom. Nothing too strenuous, just as your doctor instructed. Not that you could do anything extreme with the weight of your 36-week bump.
You were in the middle of preparing dinner when the doorbell suddenly rang.
Confused, you turned off the stove before heading towards the front door, wondering all the way who could be visiting you on a random Tuesday night.
Your curiosity was answered the moment you opened the door, only to be met with a familiar pair of eyes behind red rimmed glasses and a head of blonde hair in perfect ringlets.
"Pen? What are you doing here?" Your eyes flitted down, noticing the polka dot duffle bag on the ground. "Why do you have a bag?"
"Surprise, Beets! We're having a sleepover!"
You were still in shock when Penelope rushed past you and entered the house. "What do you mean, sleepover?"
"Have you never had a sleepover before, Beets? It means I'm gonna stay here, of course!"
"What? I don't--" realization dawned upon you then, "--did Derek put you up to this?"
"No."
"Pen."
"Okay, fine! Maybe he did. But--" Penelope raised her finger when she saw you about to cut her off, "--I was more than happy and willing to do it anyway. I also don't like the thought of you being alone in this house all by yourself."
"Pen, I appreciate the gesture, really, I do. But just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean I'm not the same person I was before. I can still deliver a mean punch if I have to," you reminded her. "You don't have to do this."
"Beets," Penelope gripped your shoulders, "I know I don't have to, but I want to, okay? Unless you're not looking forward to a marathon of the greatest 90s romcoms every single night. Shall I make myself scarce?"
You mulled over Penelope's offer for a minute. A marathon of the greatest 90s romcoms every single night did sound tempting.
"Fine." When Penelope began to squeal, you quickly added, "But no smothering!"
Penelope ended up staying for nearly the entire week, during which time Derek was constantly terrorizing her with text and voice messages; either demanding an update on you and the baby or asking Penelope to monitor your condition throughout the day.
"He's being ridiculous," you had commented one night when another one of his text messages came in the middle of My Best Friend's Wedding.
"He's worried about you."
"He's too worried." You grabbed another handful of popcorns. "You have my permission to block him anytime you feel like he's being too much."
"Won't that just give him a reason to hop on a plane and go home early?"
Your munching stopped. "Damn, you're right. Fine, just... tell him off anytime he starts being too crazy."
On Saturday, you finally received word that the team was flying back home to Virginia.
"They'll arrive in a couple of hours," Penelope called out from her position in the kitchen. "I've packed my bag and will get out of your hair as soon as Derek gets here. You guys can--what are you doing?"
Penelope knitted her eyebrows together once she walked back into the living area, seeing you somewhat writhing on the couch.
"I don't know. I just can't seem to get comfortable," you said. "And there's this... squeezing pain, I think? I don't know. I think he's pressing on my bladder or kidney or something."
"Beets." Penelope's face had gone a little paler, but there was the ghost of a smile adorning her fuchsia-painted lips. "I think you just described a contraction."
Your heart stuttered. "What? What are you talking about?"
"Beets." Penelope was beside you in a second, just in time for another contraction to hit. "You're going into labor."

Moonstruck
Word Count: 1.2K Summary: Yuta confessing under the moonlight Genre: Fluffffffffff, hurt/comfort (minor) A/N: Jaeil doesn't exist
Navigation
Yuta might literally be the cutest person she had ever met, they had been best friends for years, but as she got closer to the other NCT boys the clingier Yuta had gotten, which she didn’t mind in the slightest, it was just utterly adorable. She would move Mark's sleeves out of the way when they were at dinner to avoid food getting on them when Mark forgot to, then minutes later Yuta would be reaching with sweater paws, trying to act innocent. So she’d simply repeat the action towards Yuta with a fond smile as she watched his eyes glimmer with happiness.
Today was one of the days where he was particularly clingy, he had come home from his schedule to find her, Johnny, and Taeyong sprawled out around the living room, it seems Johnny had kicked her off of the couch partially with how she was upside down still trying to beat the two in a game, Taeyong had his head on her stomach and Johnny was simply trying to mess both of them up rather than focusing on himself winning. When the round ended the trio huffed, none of them had won, in sync all three began to stand up. They had planned to grab a snack after that round, but when their eyes landed on Yuta they could immediately sense something was off, “Yuta?” She called, trying to snap the man out of his trance, it worked. He took a few steps forward to grab her hand before walking to his room swiftly, pulling her into a cuddle session. He laid on top of her just allowing his brain to decompress as he listened to her heartbeat. It wasn’t unusual for this to happen, when Yuta had an off day he naturally sought her out. Naturally she should have known it was an off day, he had been texting her any second he could, asking for random selfies, and offering up a sleepover.
The two laid in bliss for a while, her hand massaging his neck and back as she hummed some tunes to lure him into a small nap. She wished she had noticed sooner, but when she felt her shirt beginning to dampen she froze, she tried maneuvering to see his face but he nuzzled into her stomach not allowing her to see. “Yu? Are you okay?”
He remained silent, the only notion that he had heard was that he moved her frozen hand towards his hair, asking for head pats. She wished she could chuckle at that moment because he really was a puppy, but she was too worried. “Yu, I know you’re not okay, so take all the comfort that you need from me. When you’re ready we can talk. I don’t like when you suffer alone.” She spoke so softly, the sound tenderly caressing his ears, allowing his brain to melt slightly as he finally felt seen after the long day of being invisible.
She hadn’t noticed she had dozed off, but when she woke up a few hours later the moon was shining through Yuta’s bedroom window and the man was standing at the window looking out at life outside, “You know, My mom used to tell me that you never know who you could end up loving.” His voice broke through the silence when he heard the sheets shuffle telling him she had sat up. She was confused, but she hummed, allowing him to say whatever he needed to say at the moment. “I think she was wrong.” was his continuation, confusing her even more, what was he on about? “From the moment I met you, I thought ‘I could love her’ it hummed in my brain every time I saw you. And then, it switched,” Yuta turned his body around so he was now facing his back to the window, leaning on the frame with his arms crossed. His face was totally serious, so different from his usual happy face, he was making sure she knew that he meant every word he was saying, and she did. Her heart was beginning to race, her throat drying as she prayed that this conversation goes the right way, “It changed to ‘I think I love her’ You got along with my friends, my family adores you, you take care of me. You are everything I’ve ever wanted in my entire life. I didn’t actually come to terms with it until you started getting closer with Mark, it seemed like you guys were beginning to like each other and I panicked, I wanted all of your attention. Today, you were hanging out with our friends but the second I needed you, you were there. Now when you do things like this, how is it possible to not love you?” He hummed, beginning to move closer, her teary eyes were glimmering like stars, the stars that he couldn’t see from all of the light in the area, it made him smile.
“We take care of each other in a way nobody in my life has ever been able to do. We love each other in every move we make, but my love? It’s not platonic, it hasn’t been for a while. Today at my schedule I was so tired, all I could think of was coming home and trying to talk you into a cuddle session, but as I walked in, a switch flipped, I needed it more than anything. And when I laid down? I felt so safe, so please, accept me so we can create our own haven in each other.”
His words sounded so poetic, she had never experienced a love quite like this, he was so in tune with his emotions, so vulnerable. The tears kept welling up and her words got caught in her throat. After realizing she couldn’t get the words out she surged forward, her lips meeting his, allowing him to lead the way. So he did, they stayed joined until air became nonexistent in their lungs. As they separated, her stomach rumbled, the skipped snack from earlier making itself known. “Oh my! Let’s get you some food.” He offered with a chuckle, beginning to pull away even more, only for her to pull him back.
“I can eat later, I can only get a chance to share my feelings properly once, I won’t mess that up. I will accept you, always. I have always been yours. I don’t plan to go anywhere else, anytime you need me you can find me.” She smiled as she took in the admiration in his gaze, with a hint of mischief, which was worrisome. Her body was picked up and slung over his shoulder with ease, it happened faster than she had expected earning a yelp to erupt.
“Now that feelings have been spilled, how about a bedroom picnic, let’s get my girlfriend some food in her tummy.” He hummed, happily carrying her out of the room, their faces both glowing red. – “Did you get it?” Mark wondered as he peered over Taeyong’s shoulder to look at his phone, the two had sprung up from their beds the second they heard talking beginning to audio record the conversation through the phone, they had known Yuta was close to confessing and had simply been waiting, as soon as they got the chance they were so going to share the recording with the rest of the group.

- I WANNA HATE YOU SO BAD -
- Chris Sturniolo x Fem Reader
- Warnings: making out, angst, pining? (if you squint), swearing, use of y/n, Chris and y/n high key hate each other; NOT PROOFREAD
- About: Y/n had always been close friends with Matt and Nick, but she always had a hatred towards Chris. That is, until everything changes one night while sleeping over at the triplets’ house.
—————————————————————————————
(Y/N’s POV):
“Hey y/n! Me, Nick, and Chris were gonna go to Top Golf later today, wanna come with?” Matt called me.
“Uh- yeah sure. What time?” I was hesitant with my answer because I know how competitive Chris gets when it comes to golf and it pisses me off.
“Probably about 5:00, I’ll text you when we’re on the way to your house… don’t worry, if Chris starts getting competitive I’ll make him leave.” He could sense the uncomfortableness in my voice.
“Alright, sounds good. Bye Matt.” I replied before ending the call after he said goodbye.
I was closest to Matt out of all three boys. We just clicked more than I did with anyone else.
I cleaned up the house and got caught up on some homework before finally deciding to get dressed.
4:30.
“Hey, we’re on the way” Matt texted.
I grabbed my stuff and turned out all the lights before heading out the door when they finally arrived.
“Y/n! What’s up??” Nick asked enthusiastically.
“Hey Nick!” I said, climbing into the backseat.
I never acknowledged Chris. It was a rare occasion that one of us actually cared to say hey to each other. I don’t even have a reason why I hate Chris so much, he just pissed me off and I never knew why. Apparently that was the same for Chris, though. Because he hated me just as much, if not more.
We got to Top Golf and started our game.
To my surprise, Chris wasn’t even being competitive tonight, which was unlike him. He was still being loud as ever, though.
“Chris would you shut the fuck up for 2 seconds so I can think-” I snapped, trying to come up with a response to my mom, who was asking when I would be flying back home next.
“Oh please y/n, like you could think anyway with your smooth brain” he rolled his eyes.
“Chris you’re the dumbest fucking person I know-” I started before I was cut off.
“Hey! Would you two stop? Chris shut the fuck up and y/n just worry about texting your mom.” Matt silenced both of us.
The rest of the night went pretty normal, Matt and I laughing over stupid things, Nick telling stories from the mall trip he and Madi had earlier, and Chris and I bickering ever so often.
Matt and I usually just hung out alone. Mainly because we were best friends, but also to prevent me and Chris from butting heads. But sometimes we wanted to do group things, so we had to deal with it.
On the way back to the boys’ house, Matt had asked if I wanted to spend the night.
Of course I said yes, we always had sleepovers and they were so much fun.
We got to their house and I changed into shorts and a t-shirt that I had left there a while back.
“I’m tired as fuck and I’m going to bed, no one disturb me please.” Nick said, walking up the stairs and into his room.
Me, Matt, and Chris sat on the couch on our phones.
“I’ll be back in a little bit, I’m gonna go shower.” Matt said, getting up and walking towards his bathroom.
I hated being alone with Chris. Even though I knew I hated him, there was always some unbreakable tension between us when we were alone.
A couple minutes passed by of us being on our phones in dead silence when Chris spoke up.
“I’m going to bed.” He groaned, getting up and walking towards the set of stairs that went down to his bedroom.
“Okay?” I replied with a sassy tone.
“Fuck are you always mad at me for anyway?” He turned around, walking back toward me.
“You just piss me off.” It was all I could think of. Like I said, I don’t really know why I even hate him.
Sometimes I look and him and think that maybe it’s my way of suppressing my real feelings because I’m scared of what could happen. But I hated admitting that, so I just went along with the fact that he pissed me off.
“Oh I piss you off?” He said, almost teasingly while continuing walking toward me. I was taken aback.
“Yeah, the fuck?” It was so obvious I was annoyed and wanted to be left alone.
“Is it because you have to look at me every day?” He teased, sitting down next to me.
“Look at what? Your ugly ass face?” I replied, desperately trying to turn the conversation into a normal one we’d have.
“Oh come on y/n. You know you love me.” He said in a low voice, placing his hand on my thigh.
“What the hell are you on about Chris-” I began before he cut me off.
“Wouldn’t it be a shame if I kissed you right now…” he smirked, tracing my jaw with his fingers.
My heart fluttered. Why? Why the fuck was this dumbass making me nervous?
“Christopher I swear to Go-” he continued interrupting me.
“Say my full name again.” He leaned in and whispered in my ear.
Where the hell was this confidence he had coming from?
“What? Christopher?” I questioned.
His eyes flickered between my eyes and my lips, which were parted already due to pure shock.
Next thing I know, he leaned in, moving his hand that rested on my thigh to my waist and the other cupping my cheek.
He placed his lips on mine, and before I could speak, our lips started moving in sync.
I practically melted into the kiss, which made Chris giggled when he pulled back before deepening the kiss.
His grip on my waist grew tighter as he guided me to straddle him on the couch.
He pulled away from my lips and began trailing sloppy kisses down my jaw and onto my neck, which definitely left marks.
I let out a small whine as he bit the skin on my neck.
“I wanna hate you so bad.” I stated, breathlessly.
“I know you do.” He pulled away from my neck, smirking.
We heard a door open, signaling Matt could walk in here at any moment, so I hopped off of Chris and he got up, walking toward his room.
“Surprised y’all didn’t kill each other in here.” Matt joked as he walked in the room.
“Yeah I’m leaving for a reason. I cannot be in her presence for too long.” Chris continued walking before turning around and winking at me without Matt noticing.
“Should’ve known nothing changed.” Matt looked down at the ground and laughed before asking if I was ready to go to bed.
I, of course, always shared a room with Matt at sleepovers because he was my best friend.
I got up and me and Matt made our way to bed.
All I can say is thank GOD I was wearing a hoodie which covered the hickies on my neck.
—————————————————————————————
A/N: I know I said this was gonna be multiple parts on the poll, but I changed my idea a little bit and it ended up just being one. If y’all want a second part, you can always send in a request with an idea for it and I’ll totally write one, but otherwise this is it. Sorry to all the Matt girls. I know, me writing so many Chris fics is killing me too, but y’all wanted them first on the poll 💔

Best Friend🍂
Summary: Being Seth’s best friend was never a dull moment, always there to cheer y/n up until one day he suddenly stops talking to her and she’s left confused and hurt
“Hey Seth are you still coming over today?” I asked over the phone feeling all warm inside just talking to him
“Of course wouldn’t miss it for the world!” We exchanged goodbyes and I just waited for him to come over
Ever since Seth and I became friends when we were kids, around 6, every Friday we would have a movie night and never once did we miss one
I heard a knock on my door and there he was, smiling like usual, his long hair blowing in the wind as if he was a model
“Well are you going to let me in or just stare at me” he laughed as he pushed by gently and threw himself down on the couch
I blushed and closed the door going to sit next to him
“So what are we going to watch tonight?” He asked as he threw a blanket over the both of us and pulled me to lay down against his chest, it was normal for us but probably looked different from the outside
“Its up to you! I’m fine with anything” I said as I handed him the remote and snuggled into the blanket
Moments like these were what I held onto, I’ll never know when he finds the one and then I won’t have this anymore, so Friday night were what I waited for every week
He turned on an old 80s movie and we laid in silence snacking on gummies and watching
“How’s everything been?” He asked as he combed his fingers through my hair
“Tough, I’ve barely gotten any sleep lately”
“She still screaming at night?” He asked
“Every night since he left”
Bella was my sister and ever since her boyfriend, Edward, left she’s been miserable, I’ve tried everything to cheer her up but it doesn’t seem to work, me and dad don’t know what to do with her, maybe if I was closer to her maybe I’d know how to help but, we haven’t lived together for years until she came back a year ago, we just have to wait until she comes to terms with everything
“Maybe you could come have a sleepover at my place, get some rest” he hummed
“Id love that but you know how Leah feels about me ever since bella returned” I sighed
Me and Leah use to be friends but then bella came back and she turned to glaring at me, leaving the room every time I’d enter and I never knew why
“She’ll get better I hope, I’ll get sleep eventually, maybe I’ll camp out outside” I laughed feeling sleep slowly creep up on my from the warmth he was creating
“Get some sleep now” he hummed again lulling me to sleep
•*•*•*•
I woke up to the sun in my eyes but I noticed the absence of the warmth that I loved, I opened my eyes and he was gone it was just me on the couch wrapped snuggly in the blanket
I got up with the blanket draped over my shoulders, I walked to the kitchen and dialed the Clearwater residence
“Hello!” I heard that sweet voice of Seth’s mom
“Hi Mrs.Clearwater it’s y/n I was wondering if Seth was there? He left last night without waking me and I wanted to make sure he made it home safe”
“Oh ya, he came back late last night, he said he wasn’t feeling well and he’s come down with a fever”
“Oh no, tell him to call me when he feels better, could I come over and bring him soup?”
“Its probably best if you stay away for a while, don’t want you coming down with this either, but I’ll tell him you called dear” and with that she hung up which was not like her at all
•*•*•*•
I called back everyday for a week and it was the same answer for the first few days, that he was just sick but after the first few days they stopped answering and it was worrying me, Sue, Harry or Seth never treated me like this and it hurt to be completely honest
I didn’t have many friends at school and since Seth was my best friend and went to a different school down at la push, it kinda sucked being in this position
“Hey sweetie you okay?” I turned on the couch to see dad at the door coming back from working
“Oh I’m alright, ummm have you talked to Sue or Harry lately?” I asked
“Ya Harry is coming by later why what’s up?”
“Have they said anything about Seth?”
“Harry mentioned he was under the weather, did something happened between you guys?” He asked sitting in his lounge chair
“I don’t know, we had our movie night last week and I fell asleep but when I woke up he was gone and hasn’t called since and you know he doesn’t do that and tonight is our movie night again and…and I’m just worried, what if maybe I did something to upset him” I asked as my voice waivered
“Hey don’t stress I’m sure it’s nothing, maybe you should go out, clear your head for tonight”
“Maybe you’re right” I sighed as I got up grabbed my headphones, jacket and shoes and head out to the forest paths behind the house
I kept walking through the woods until I reached the cliffs where I knew some guys would recreationally jump
I sat down near the edge feeling the cool wind blow against my skin calming me down, still listening to the music Seth showed me
I stayed like that for a while until the sky turned orange and purple as the sun set
I stood up to leave but when I turned around I was met with glowing eyes

— 𝒅𝒊𝒃𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒅!

in which a broken hip leads to a sibling sleepover!
It was one of those nights where the pain wouldn’t let Niamh sleep. Her hip ached with every slight movement, radiating a dull, relentless throb no matter how still she tried to be. The nest of pillows and blankets her mom had built around her helped only a little, and the couch—her makeshift bed since the injury—suddenly felt colder, lonelier than ever.
She stared at the ceiling, her fists clenched at her sides. She hated this. Hated being stuck, hated feeling weak, hated how her brothers were finally home, yet she still felt so far away from them. They’d been trying so hard to help, but she couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that she was just holding them back.
Eventually, she couldn’t take it anymore. Pushing herself up as carefully as she could, she reached for her phone, her fingers trembling slightly as she opened the group chat she shared with her brothers. She stared at the empty text box, hesitating.
Was this dumb?
Would they think she was being dramatic?
She shook the thought away and typed out a simple text: are you guys awake?
The replies came almost instantly.
always. what’s up?
everything okay, rowan?
why are you awake? you okay?
Niamh swallowed hard, her chest tightening at the way their concern shone through even in short texts. Finally, she typed: can we have a sleepover? like, all of us in one room?
There was a pause, the groupchat between the four of them unusually still for a moment, and she worried she’d made a mistake. But then Lukas replied.
dibs on the bed! i’m not sleeping on the floor
And then Cole replied.
dibs revoked. RO’S the one with the broken hip
And then Owen.
lukas, shut up. i’ll grab some extra blankets.
Niamh let out a shaky laugh, the ache in her chest easing just a little.
It didn’t take long for her brothers to show up. Cole was the first, slipping quietly into the living room. “Hey,” he whispered, his voice softer than usual. “Where do you wanna do this? My room?”
She nodded. His room was close by, and for some reason, it always felt safe to her.
“Alright, let’s get you there,” he said, crouching down in front of her.
“Wait,” she protested weakly. “I can crutch my way—”
“Nope. Not happening.” Before she could argue, Cole had gently slid his arms under her legs and around her back. “You’re not doing anything to make it worse, Ro. I got you.”
She sighed but didn’t fight him, instead wrapping her arms around his neck as he carefully lifted her. He moved slowly, taking the stairs one at a time to avoid jostling her.
When they got to his room, Owen was already there, spreading a pile of blankets on the floor, and Lukas was flopped on the bed, scrolling through his phone like he hadn’t been summoned.
“Get off my bed,” Cole muttered as he helped Niamh settle onto the mattress.
“It’s not just your bed,” Lukas shot back. “It’s communal now. I’m making myself at home.”
Cole rolled his eyes. “If you kick her while you’re ‘making yourself at home,’ you’re out.”
“Relax, Mom,” Lukas said with a grin, though he did scoot over to give Niamh more space.
They settled in quickly. Cole stayed beside Niamh on the bed, propping her up with pillows until she was as comfortable as possible. Owen claimed the corner of the floor closest to the bed, while Lukas sprawled in the middle of the blanket pile, somehow managing to take up more space than seemed physically possible.
“So, what’s the plan for this sleepover?” Lukas asked, folding his hands behind his head. “Ghost stories? Truth or dare? Or should we let Niamh pick since she’s the injured one?”
“She just wanted company, genius,” Cole said, shaking his head.
Lukas shrugged. “I’m just saying, I’d kill it at truth or dare.”
“You’d kill yourself if you tried to do any dares,” Owen muttered from his spot on the floor.
“Okay, you guys,” Niamh interrupted softly, her voice cutting through the teasing. “I don’t care what we do. I just didn’t want to be alone tonight.”
Her quiet admission made them all pause. Lukas, always the loudest, glanced at her, his grin fading into something softer. “You don’t have to be alone, Niamh,” he said, nudging her foot lightly. “You’ve got us. Forever and always.”
“Yeah,” Owen chimed in, his voice steady. “We’re not going anywhere. Ever.”
Cole smiled faintly, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. “You’re stuck with us, whether you like it or not.”
They stayed up late, talking about nothing in particular. Lukas told some ridiculous story about his time at Bemidji State, and Owen tried to fact-check him every step of the way. Cole played referee when Lukas got too animated and almost sent one of the blankets flying into Niamh.
Eventually, the room quieted as everyone started to drift off. Cole turned off the lights, leaving only the soft glow of the hallway to keep the room from total darkness.
Niamh stayed awake a little longer, listening to her brothers’ steady breathing. Lukas had already started snoring lightly, and Owen’s even breaths were like a metronome. Cole, always the last to fall asleep, shifted beside her, making sure she was still comfortable before finally settling.
She closed her eyes, the pain in her hip still there but dulled by the warmth of her brothers surrounding her. For the first time in weeks, she felt truly at peace.
And as she drifted off, she thought to herself: if this if what came of it, then maybe a broken hip wasn’t so bad after all.

Pretty in Pink (and Other Colors)
For @jadenoryuu!
.
A ghost watched Amity Park. Specifically, he watched a group of five teenagers walk down a street. He watched not from up close, not from down the street, or from one of the buildings lining it, but from far, far away, through a ghost-powered device that could see through both space and time, and which could even allow a properly-prepared traveler to pass through it to the place and time it showed.
In his right hand, the ghost carried a staff. In his left, he held a wrinkled and creased hundred dollar bill. He drummed his fingers on the haft of his staff, but was otherwise still. Watching. Waiting.
Then, when the teenagers had reached a position remarkable only to the ghost, he reached out and dropped the bill. It fell through the time screen and drifted gently to the ground in front of the teenagers.
The tallest teen, a blonde, noticed it and stooped to pick it up, grinning at his companions all the while. In the ghost’s lair, other time screens turned to static, flickered, and then turned back on, showing very different scenes.
The ghost smiled. “Perhaps this is not the way it was meant to be,” he said, tilting his head to look at the other screens, “but it will be amusing, nonetheless.”
.
“... was bright pink. And that's why my allowance was cut off, so I can't bring my usual to the party,” explained Dash. His usual was beer, obtained through an acquaintance who didn’t care much about the legalities involved. And who, admittedly, thought Dash was two years older than he actually was.
“Lame,” said Valerie.
“Extremely lame,” agreed Star.
“Next level is actively pathetic, Dash, and you don’t want to go there,” said Paulina. “Don’t promise what you can’t deliver.”
“Well, I should have been able to deliver, it’s not my fault.” He kicked at the sidewalk, then paused, spotting something on the ground. “Oh, nice!” He picked a bill up off the ground and waved it over his head. “The party is back on!”
“The party was never off,” said Valerie, rolling her eyes. “Just the drinking part, which I can’t do, anyway.”
“Aw,” said Paulina, jostling Valerie playfully. “Why not? Did you become Mormon or something? Ultra-orthodox super-protestant Christian something or other?”
“Ew, no,” said Valerie. “But my dad wants me home at a ‘reasonable time,’ he will be sitting up waiting for me, and he has a breathalyzer.”
“Why does he even have one of those?” asked Kwan. “I mean, I know the school has one for prom and stuff.”
“He used it for work, back when he was just building up the company. There was an incident where some of his guys showed up drunk for work. That just makes it grosser, though. It’s used.”
“Bleh,” said Star and Paulina simultaneously, before breaking out into giggles.
“Bet it’s still, like, full of spit. Old guy spit,” said Paulina.
“Ewww,” said Star. “That’s so gross.”
“Laugh all you want, but I’ll be the only one who can ride my bike in a straight line by the end of the night.”
“Hey, I can just walk home,” said Dash.
“Sleepover time,” sang Paulina, throwing an arm around Star’s shoulders.
“Yeah! We can have a guys sleepover, too, right, Kwan?”
“Uhhh,” said Kwan. “I’ve actually gotta go home, too.”
“What,” said Dash, “now?”
“No, like, I mean, I have to go home early. Mom wants me to take school seriously now that I’m in high school, which means, uh, sleep schedules. You know.”
“Oh, bummer,” said Dash. “Hope she lightens up. It’s not like we’re seniors.”
“Yeah, man, me too.”
They continued down the street for a while longer, until Dash and Kwan split off to meet up with Dash’s ‘buddy’ and the girls went shopping for somewhat less illegal things, like makeup.
They met up again at Paulina’s house. Of course, they weren’t the only ones coming to the party. All the cool kids were. But, even as freshmen, Paulina, Dash, Valerie, Star, and Kwan were the coolest of the cool.
And, as such, they were there the longest, long after other guests had left, and got the best perks. Like Dash’s haul. And the no-holds-barred truth or dare game.
Dash climbed out of the pool and clambered over to where his friends were lounging. “See? I told you wusses that I could make it in from the roof.” He sat back down and spun the bottle sitting on its side between them.
The bottle spun and spun, and eventually stopped pointing at Paulina. “Ooh,” said Paulina. “My turn, my turn. So, Valerie, truth or dare?”
“Mhm,” said Valerie, looking at her watch. “Make it dare and make it quick. I’ve got to go, soon.”
“Okay, so.” Paulina squared her shoulders and leaned towards Valerie. “I dare you to… take a shot.”
“Uh, no,” said Valerie. She stood up. And with that, it’s time for me to go.”
“Nooo, Val, that’s so lame!” said Star. “So super lame.”
“Very lame, Val. You can’t break the sacred bond of truth and dare.”
“The sacred bond was broken as soon as you asked me to do something that would get me grounded literally forever. So. Hey, Kwan. Kwan.” She nudged Kwan with her foot.
“Let a guy sleep,” said Dash.
“He said he wanted to go early.”
“If he tried to bike home now, he’d crash,” said Star. “Like, look at him. Dead to the world. Totally out of it.”
“He can stay, my dad isn’t back until the day after tomorrow. What he doesn’t know, he won’t care about. Probably safer that way.”
“Guess you can explain that to Kean when he gets grounded forever,” said Valerie. “Later guys. Call me if you need help with clean-up. I know the name of a service that works fast.” She took one last look around the back yard, and walked out.
“Later, girl!” called Paulina. “So, Star, truth or dare?”
“Hey, wait, you already went,” said Dash.
“And the one I picked bailed. I deserve another shot.”
“Let’s just spin the bottle again,” said Star. “It’ll probably just land on you again anyway, right? There’s three of us, so that’s, like, three halves. Two thirds? Ugh, geez, I can’t do math while I’m duck. Drunk. God. Just spin it, Pauli.”
“Whatever,” said Paulina. Pouting, she spun the bottle. It went around and around and around… And landed on her again. “Okay, so, Star. Truth or dare?”
“Ughh,” said Star. “Truth, I guess.”
“You’ve done truth every time,” complained Dash. “Pick something new. Pick dare.”
“No,” said Star.
“Dare, dare, dare, dare, dare,” chanted Paulina.
“You’re awful. I don’t know why I’m friend of you. With you. Whatever. God. Fine. Dare.”
“Okay, so… I dare you to… lick Kwan.”
“Oh, gross. Oh my God. You’re disgusting.”
“Do it!”
“It’s not like your tongue’s never been on him.”
“Ewwww. Don’t say that. You’re such a weirdo.” Still, she got up on her knees and crawled over to Kwan. “Such a weirdo. Weirdest weirdo. How do you even think of this?” She leaned down and just barely touched her tongue to his forehead. “Ew, ew, ew, totally gross. He’s all sweaty. Stop laughing, you weirdos.”
“Hey, hey,” said Dash. “I obj- obje– I don’t like that. Don’t say we’re the weirdest weirdos. There’s like. So many weirdos out there.”
“Yeah, name one,” said Star. “Just one weirder weirdo than you, weirdo. Weirdo. That’s such a weird word.”
“Fine. Fenderbender.”
“Who?” asked Star, squinting.
“Fenderbender. Fentanyl. Fentonail. Fentina. Fentodor. Fentertainment.”
“Wait, Fenton? Way to go for the low hanging fruit.”
“You calli-calling me a fruit?”
“You did say just one, Starlight,” said Paulina. “He is weird. His whole family is weird. And he looks at me funny.”
“He looks at you like he has a crush on you, Pauli. Like, every boy looks at you like that.”
“Yeah, but he’s super creepy about it. He’s all scrawny and greasy, and he’s always got, like, green slime on him, and his shouty parents and his annoying sister. What’s their deal anyway?”
“Ghosts,” said Dash. “They’re like, freaking ghosts. Ghost hunters.”
“Well, yeah, but beyond that, even. Ghosts could be cool. Those programs make cash, y’know? But they’re, like, super crazy, and they have a super weird basement or whatever. Spin already, Star.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got it, Pauli.” She spun the bottle around. “Ooh, Dash, you go.”
“Okay, okay. So, weirdos. Pauli. Whatcha gonna pick?”
Paulina took another swig of beer. “Dare,” she said.
“Dare. I’ve got a great one. I dare you. Paulina Sanchez. To break into the Fenton’s house.”
“Oh my God, Dash. For real. You can’t ask Pauli to do something illegal.”
“Well, you could always wimp out like freaking– Like Val. You gonna wimp, Pauli?”
Paulina glared at him. “Who do you think I am? I’m not going to fall for some peer– peer pressure, like, you know, the after school special. You think I’m going to fall for that?”
“So, you’re gonna wimp?”
Star giggled. “I gotta say, I’m curious.”
“Stop saying that. You’re such losers.” She took another drink. “Okay, okay, I’ll do it.”
Dash cheered raucously.
“I’ll do it,” said Paulina. “But you’ve– you’ve got to come with me. Like, to witness.”
“But we’ve– we’ve gotta get there first,” said Star. “It’s, like, hours away.”
“It’s thirty minutes tops,” said Paulina. “And we can get a cab.”
“Not if we’re breaking in. That’s like, criminal one-oh-one, Pauli. No witnesses.”
Fine,” said Paulina. “We walk. Whatever. The freaking- The things I do for you. Wow. Incredible.” She got to her feet. “Okay. Onward! To the weird ghost hunter basement raid.”
The three teens made their stumbling way out of the house and down the street.
“Are you sure this is the way?” asked Star, squinting at one of the signs.
“Absolutely,” said Dash. “Followed Fenfreak enough.”
“This is way more than half an hour,” said Star. “This is boring.”
“But it’ll be so exciting at the end,” said Paulina. “Like, we’ll be spies.”
“This street,” said Dash. “Totally. This street.”
“Oh, wow,” said Paulina, after they turned the corner. “Don’t know how we missed that. Jesus.”
“Is that a freaking spaceship?” asked Star. “Or, no. Hell. It’s a- a– What do you call it? Broadcast tower. Freaking hell.”
“Yeah, wow,” said Paulina.
“Hey, who wants to be the whack jobs don’t lock their front door?” asked Dash. He ran up to the door, yanked on the handle, and it opened.
“Wild,” said Star, slinking closer. “I’d’ve thought there was, like, a trap or something.”
Paulina stayed on the sidewalk. Now that they were here, it all seemed… Bigger. Scarier. They were breaking into someone’s house. They could get into serious trouble for this.
But Dash was already going in. Paulina steeled herself and followed. Star clung to her side.
The Fentons’ house felt… small. Dark. Dirty. And there were weird sounds everywhere. Like, snoring and boards squeaking, and was that awful drone their fridge? She halfway felt as if every move she made would set off something.
“Hey,” whispered Dash, loudly. “I think I found the basement!”
He had. There was a creepy metal door in the kitchen, and when they opened it, it led to stairs, going down to a faintly green darkness.
“Do we really need to go down there?” asked Star.
“Well, yeah, duh,” said Dash. “Duh.”
“You didn’t need to say it twice, Dash. That’s lame.” Paulina stalked downstairs with as much dignity as she could muster. She was maybe a bit tipsy. Then almost had a heart attack when Dash turned on the light. “What the hell, Dash?”
“They’re not down here, they’re not going to see.”
“Whatever,” said Paulina, flipping her hair. She looked around. “Wow, they went super mad scientist down here.” There were steel lab tables and bubbling vials. There were computers and wires. There were hot plates and bits of disassembled household appliances. There were things Paulina couldn’t even begin to identify.
And it was all incredibly gross. And messy. There was goo.
“Y’know,” said Star, “some of this stuff is actually, like, high-end. Like, serious money. Do you think Fenton’s actually rich?”
“Not a chance,” said Paulina. “Even if he were, it wouldn’t matter. He’d still suck. Him and his catty little nerd friends.”
“Hey, where d’you think this tunnel goes?” asked Dash. “Like, are these freaks holding– Not holding. Drilling? Drilling to China? Freaks.” He laughed to himself. “Freaking freaks.”
“Wow, you are plastered if you think that’s funny,” said Star.
“Whatever, shut up. Hey, Pauli! Dare you to go down here’n’ see what’s on the other end!”
Paulina walked over to look down the dark and foreboding tunnel. It was full of electrical wire and metal hoops. “Maybe they’re skimming off the grid or something,” she said. “Or trading drugs. That’d be a break in the cliches. A Mexican finding the nice, eccentric white nuclear family is dealing drugs.” She looked over at Dash. “After this, we go. Quietly.”
“Yeah, yeah, just go on in, for this win. You’ve got to do more than us, yeah? You’re the one who got the dare.”
“Whatever, Dash.” She walked up to the threshold and looked around in distaste. “God, they’re so freaking weird.” She stepped over and started walking back, picking her way through the tangled wires.
She shouldn’t have worn heels, but she’d wanted to look cute. Maybe that shouldn’t have been her first priority when sneaking into someone’s house, but, like, what else was she supposed to do? She was just naturally cute. Like, for real.
Whatever.
She slipped.
And the world came apart.

first halloween
day 1 of seven days of halloween .ᐟ 👻
pairing - michael langdon x f!reader
synopsis - headcanons about celebrating michael’s first halloween
tags - headcanons • fluff • mention of a bad childhood
୨୧ note - michael deserves so much love so here is a fic about him. this was supposed to be a headcanon fic but upon rereading it it’s more like a regular fic but with bullets lol, apologies for that. hope you enjoy . ᐟ
⟢ you and michael had been dating for a few months before halloween, you met him at the local supermarket you usually go to. after seeing him a few times at the supermarket with his adoptive mom you asked for his number
⟢ you started of as friends but soon enough you started dating
⟢ when the topic of halloween came up one or two months before the actual holiday michael seemed confused
⟢ it turned out that michael hadn’t really celebrated halloween, like ever
⟢ after hearing this information you decided to make it your goal to make michael’s first halloween amazing
⟢ you planned out a whole day with typical halloween activities for you and michael, you even bought matching costumes
⟢ since it was his first time celebrating halloween you decided to go for simple costumes; devil costumes
⟢ and since ms. mead, michael’s adoptive mom, had a kind of strange obsession with the devil you decided that the costumes were fitting
⟢ when the day of halloween actually came you surprised him by showing up at his house and dragging him out to your car to go to your house
⟢ at your house you had prepared halloween movies and candy in the living room. you also bought matching halloween themed pj’s for you two to wear during your movie marathon
⟢ michael didn’t really understand why you would do all this for him. love wasn’t really something he was used to growing up so the thought of someone going out of their way to plan a whole day for him shocked him, but he was happy nonetheless
⟢ he couldn’t stop smiling during the movie marathon, you just seemed so happy to explain all the details and fun facts of the movies
⟢ at the end of the movie marathon when it was getting darker outside you ran to your room to grab the matching devil costumes you had bought
⟢ as you handed michael his costume he seemed confused. “a devil costume?” “yeah is it something wrong with it?” “no”
⟢ he hadn’t told you about the whole ‘anti-christ’ thing so he was shocked when he saw the costume. You couldn’t know, right? but he calmed down when you explained that it was because of ms. mead
⟢ his costume consisted of some regular black pants, a white shirt, and a red cape. while your costume was a red dress and a black cape. you each had one headband with red devil horns on it
⟢ you left your house to go trick or treating even though you were probably too old to do so. but since michael hadn’t gone trick or treating before you didn’t care, even if you got some weird looks
⟢ most people who you tricked or treat didn’t think it was weird, they didn’t say anything anyways.
⟢ at the end of the night you returned to your house. you thought that michael would change back to his regular clothes and head home, but he seemed reluctant to leave “can we have a sleepover” “sure”
⟢ after you changed into the halloween themed pj’s you went to bed and cuddled to sleep
⟢ right before you fell asleep michael whispered something he had never said to you;
⟢ “i love you”
⟢ “love you too” you yawned
and then you lived happily ever after and the world did definitely not end in a few years 😊
love, elisabet <3

Max gives Joyce a piece of her mind
“Who is it that you got engaged to, Chloe?” Joyce only now noticed a new addition to Chloe’s usual hodgepodge of jewellery – a silver ring with many colourful stones on Chloe’s left ring finger. “I see he couldn’t even be bothered to buy you a proper ring. It should be gold, with a diamond. Like the one your father gave me”.
Chloe thought to herself: “Yes, that ring was beautiful. Too bad you sold it”. Chloe closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to calm herself. “This is the best day of your life, Price. You’re not going to cry today”, she thought.
“It’s Max, mom”.
Joyce only now noticed Max standing behind Chloe in the doorway.
“Oh hi, Max! I’m so sorry you had to listen to our little quarrel. But you’ve been hanging around with Chloe almost every day since we moved to Seattle, so you’re used to that”.
“Mom, you’re not listening to me. It’s Max who …”
“Max is such a nice young woman. Why can’t you be more like her? She would never do something so reckless. You should …”
“Enough!” – said Max loudly, almost shouting, surprising everyone present, including herself. Max stepped in front of Chloe and continued, not as loud, but still way above her usual gentle tone of voice: “Enough. Joyce, there’s something I’ve wanted to tell you ever since I met you again at the Two Whales. You can’t talk about your daughter that way!”
Joyce seemed shocked by Max’s words. David and Chloe less so.
“We meet for the first time after five years and you spend the majority of our conversation going on and on about how big of a burden your own child is? ‘Chloe chose to remain angry’. That’s what you said. Maybe you don’t even remember saying it, but I will never forget you saying that. She chose to be angry? Chloe chose none of the things that happened to her. She didn’t choose for William to be killed by a reckless trucker who fell asleep behind the wheel. She didn’t choose for me, her supposed best friend, to stop answering her calls and texts. She didn’t choose for Rachel to promise her a life together and then break up with her using a letter”.
“Max, what are you saying? Chloe and Rachel were just friends. They had sleepovers all the time!”
David furrowed his brow, surprised with his wife’s obliviousness. “Joyce, that’s exactly why they had so many sleepovers. I thought that was obvious. It’s why I always woke them up so early and tried to get them out of Chloe’s room. I didn’t want them fooling around under our roof. Just like I would if Chloe tried doing that with a boy”.
Max continued telling all the things she’d been wanting to tell Joyce for the past year: “Chloe didn’t choose for her stepfather to slap and demean her!”
David’s face turned red. Not out of anger, though. Out of shame.
“Chloe didn’t choose for Nathan Prescott to roofie and attempt to assault her and then threaten to shoot her! She didn’t choose for Frank Bowers to threaten to kill her with a knife! By the way, David. That’s why she took your revolver. For self-defence”.
David was distraught that his daughter had been in danger and he didn’t even know about it. “What? Chloe, why didn’t you tell me about it? I would’ve done something!”
Chloe responded, quoting David’s own words: “’For your own good, stay away from Chloe. She’s a loser and she’ll only drag you down’. I didn’t want to drag you down, David”.
David hung his head low, confronted with his own venomous words, having finally realized how crushing it must’ve been for Chloe to hear something like that from her own parent.
Max kept pouring her heart out: “What did you even argue with her about when I picked up that phone call? I tell you David hit her and your reaction is to yell at her? Not to hug her, to console her, to tell her everything is going to be alright? To yell at her. Then again, she pushed him. That was the problem. Chloe pushing. Not her stepfather reacting with violence to being ‘pushed’, whatever that even means, by a teenage girl. Chloe being a bad daughter, a disappointment. That was the problem. Well, I know for a fact Chloe would give her life to save yours and David’s. Without hesitation. I know that for a fact! How’s that for a bad daughter? And why do you always seem to be annoyed when you see Chloe? When she went into the diner that day, before she even said anything, you were already angry with her. Why? What was even that stupid speech about Chloe blowing her college fund on bacon? Did you really charge your own child for a few scraps of bacon? When we were kids, we would visit you at work. You always gave us pie. Are you telling me you charged us back then too? Should I be worried about my own college fund? Did you really keep a tab for your daughter and you paid it off using money William had set aside for Chloe’s education?”
“Max, that was a joke. Of course I didn’t actually charge Chloe”.
“Well if that was a joke, I didn’t feel amused to hear it. More like embarrassed. Why even joke that way? What you were trying to get at? Did you want to remind her she had got expelled from Blackwell, as if she didn’t remember that? Were you complaining that she visited you at work too often? Or did you think she ate too much? She’s rail-thin, for God’s sake. I can feel all her bones when I touch her. If anything, she should be eating more”.
Chloe blushed, as Max’s remark clearly indicated she had seen her, and touched her, while she was in a state of undress. But it seemed neither Joyce nor David picked up on it.
“When I finish my classes at U-Dub in the afternoon and Chloe is there to pick me up, that’s the best part of my day. I always smile when I see her. I cannot fathom how could anyone react to my Chloe with annoyance. And yet, you do. Almost every time I see you interact. Could you stop doing that? Pretty please, now that we’re going to become a family? Because it’s me who proposed to Chloe. And by the way, that ring was the best thing I could afford using the money I made in my summer job. I admit, it’s not gold and diamonds. It’s silvered steel and agates. But I think it suits my fiancée. It’s bold and colourful, just like her”.
Joyce was floored with the revelation. David not so much.
Joyce needed a moment to process the news: “What? But … I mean … That’s wonderful, Max! I’m so happy for you. I know you will be a good influence on Chloe. I know you will help her change for the better”.
Max sighed. She was no longer angry and she reverted to her normal, gentle speaking voice. But she still had a lot to say: “Joyce, Chloe is not some kind of work in progress that needs finishing. Not any more than any other human being is. I love her for who she is now, not for who she might become. My love for her is not conditioned on her changing in any way. She will, of course, just as I will change going through life at her side. This is going to be our journey. But it doesn’t have any set goal, other than being together. Our love, it’s not a one-way street. I stand to gain from it just as much as she does. Chloe saved my life. Twice. When Nathan Prescott caught me snooping in the dorms, Chloe shielded me with her own body and pushed him away. Even though he was armed and had threatened to murder Chloe just two days prior. And when Frank Bowers lunged at me with a knife, Chloe stopped him. She wrestled a taller, stronger man armed with a knife to save my life, with no weapon of her own, because in my unmatched wisdom I had told her to discard it. And she did save my life”.
David nodded in respect, impressed with his daughter’s tenacity in defending her loved ones.
Max continued: “She taught me how to overcome my fears. How to be strong. And she proved she would be willing to die just to spare me from feeling guilty. Which is something I would never accept. But it’s proof how loyal she is and how far she’s willing to go protect the people she loves. To protect me. Joyce, I’m not the child you remember me to be and I’m not the perfect young woman you imagined me to be in my absence. You don’t really know me. You don’t know what I did and what choices I made. I think I’m much farther away from your idea of a good daughter than you think I am. And Chloe is much closer to it than you think she is”.
Max paused for a while. Both Joyce and Chloe sniffed. They had tears in their eyes. David’s eyes expressed profound sadness as well.
Max decided to tell the last thing she’d been wanting to tell Joyce for a long time: “Joyce, I’m going to tell you something now. I’m not telling this to hurt you, or make you sad. On the contrary. When you hear what I have to say, even before I’m finished, I want you to interrupt me. I want you to be indignant. I want you to tell me I’m wrong. That I have no idea what I’m talking about. That I have no right to say things like that. I want you to throw me out of your home for daring to say that, do you understand? Here it goes. Based on how you always have patience, support and kind words for me and how you have very little of that for Chloe, it seems to me that you’d rather have me as a daughter than Chloe. Is that true?”
Joyce did none of the things Max wanted her to do. She rested her elbows on the table and hid her face in the palms of her hands.

During the day September air was chilly but not cold, light sweaters everyone's preferred "coat" to keep warm. But the night grew cold, the wind wiping around, leaves flying and twirling in the air. Y/n had rushed to get out of their house, the pj's they had on even less warm then what they wore to school. But even as they're teeth began to chatter slightly, goosebumps rising on their arms, they knew they made the right decision.
The Byer's house was usually an eight minute walk, the bus stop twelve, but in the dark with scary noises stalling them the walk ended up being twenty. When the wooden door came into view, and they walked up the step a breath of relief was puffed before they began knocking. The action hardly made a sound but Joyce was known to have "mom ears" that could hear anything even in a deep sleep.
"Hello." She whispered in an effort to not scare the timid Y/n who's cheeks were painted with tears. "Come in." Her hand landed on Y/n's back in a protective move, her head jutting out the door to look down the street expecting to see a car driving off, yet all she was met with was the silent and cold night. "Did you walk here?" Joyce's voice grew more frantic as she looked over the poor kid for any injuries, her hands meeting freezing skin.
Before Y/n could defend their case a warm blanket was wrapped around them and the name 'Hopper' was being yelled out around them. Joyce didn't leave Y/n's side as they continued to cry, every family member awoken from the commotion now in the livingroom with wide eyes.
"What's going one?" El asked as she slowly walked towards Y/n, her hand landing on their shoulder in a show of support.
"I'm not sure." Joyce voiced, her eyes meeting an even more confused hopper. "They walked here Jim, walked."
Hopper knew who Y/n was, Gareth had told him everything there was to know about them. Including the life they had at home, an aunt who only kept them around for the money the government offered. Y/n had to do everything on their own and pay for everything on their own, and for that reason the poor kid was on Hopper's radio. He vowed the first time he hear of some sort of altercation, commotion, or disruption from the house he would intervene. He just never expected them to show up on his doorstep.
"Call the Gareth," He said to will. "Get another blanket from the linen closet," He ordered Jonathan. "El why don't you see if we have a seepingbag downstairs." Each kid rushed off to do their tasks. "What's going on kid?" Hopper then turned his attention to a shivering Y/n.
"Sh- She said no," A sob broke through. "No more." They shook their head and tried their best to wipe their tears off their cheeks. "I can't go back." They pulled in a deep breath trying to calm themself down.
"It's okay sweetie." Joyce offered a lopsided smile, rubbing her hands up and down trying to warm them up. "We've got you."
"I'm going to head to the station to write up a few things then head over to get their stuff." Hopper's voice was direct but sympathetic, wishing he had done something sooner hating that this poor kid could have avoided the cold walk and most likely harsh talk back at their aunts house.
"M' stuff?" They cried again.
"Yeah kid, you're stuff." The jingle of his keys filled in the silence. "There's no way I'm letting you go back, I've seen the reports, I'm not failing you too." Y/n opened their mouth to say something but Hopper cut in before they could say anything. "Here kid, you'll stay here."
"Yay!" El chimed in as she carried in a huge bundle. "I've always wanted bunk beds!" The grin on her face was genuine.
Y/n was silent, though a huge smile was plastered on their face at the kindness these people were showing them. They hadn't ever felt like this before, so supported. Y/n assumed they would maybe get to sleepover for the night until their aunt caved and took them back, or they got sent away. Yet everyone around them was talking about them staying for forever it seemed.
"Are you hungry at all?" Joyce asked, Y/n shaking their head 'no'.
"He's here." Jonathan called from the front window, the distinct bright lights of Gareth's car showing through the curtains. "Hey man." He opened the door, the two of them talking quietly, no doubt Jonathan updating Gareth on the situation.
Gareth nodded before taking in the room, Y/n standing and still shivering, Joyce stressed, and the twins stuck with unknowing looks on their faces. "Hi bunny." Gareth whispered as he got closer to Y/n, Joyce taking a step back and giving the kids some space, her and Jonathan slipping into the kitchen to make a few calls. "Let's sit down." His hands landed on Y/n's shoulders as he led them to the couch, plopping himself down before Y/n sat next to him, his arm wrapping around them instantly, their head falling to his shoulder.
"'m good." They whispered. "Right? 'm a good kid?" Their voice wavered, silent tears slipping down their cheeks. "She said I was bad." They whispered even quieter.
Gareth placed his chin atop their head, pulling them in closer, El's eyes tearing up and Will fidgeting with his hands. "Yeah, Bunny, you're a good kid." He felt his own tears begin to build, the way Bunny looked and sounded making his heart crumble a little. Everyone around them kept trying to tear them down, kids at school, people at home, he knew he needed to protect them, and clearly this hug was his first step.
"Hopper said he'll get Y/n's things this afternoon, and he'll bring them back here." She smiled, her eyes locking on Y/n's. "You can stay here as long as you need sweetie." Her voice was soft and her eyes teary too. "We can get a bunkbed and some extra things and you can share a room with El or Will."
"Me." El cut in, clearly offended that Will would even have the possibility of a roommate. El's hand landed on Y/n's shoulder in a supportive way, a huge smile on her face. "Sleepovers are fun."
"I don' wan' t' bother anyone, I can go." Y/n went to stand up but El sat her back down.
"You'll be staying here, you're apart of the family now. You won't be on your own anymore." Jonathan cut in this time, his big brother mode activated. Both of his siblings had gone through hell, and he hated to see it. He wouldn't let Y/n's hell continue either, no matter what he had to do.
So at 4am Y/n sat on the couch as everyone around them worked to get things in order for the time being, pancakes placed on the dining table for everyone, and not once were they left alone or left out. They were excited to welcome this new normal, this new family.

can we have some content of the twins relationship with each other?
sure!! maybe i can do a profile on all of the styles children
Young dad!Harry x Young mom!Reader
Julian and Maeve for sure give off that unhinged, middle child energy.
Y/n loved dressing them up in matching clothes when they were babies like this, this, or this. But as they get older, she lets them develop their own style, as is the Styles family way. And for no other reason than to make their parents heads spin, Maeve and Jules switch clothes from time to time—shoes, jackets, shirts, etc.
Maeve is the first one to call Julian JuJu.
Simone loves playing dress up with the twins and painting their nails. And when she's old enough to drive, she picks them and Collette up from school to get ice cream right after she gets her license.
The first time they join Harry on tour, they wreak havoc. They run around during rehearsals, sometimes in just a shirt and a pull-up, or whatever Y/n was able to finagle them into before giving up and tossing clothes at Harry when she sees them and says, "Good luck," before walking off with the rest of her kids.
Harry holds Maeve and Julian on either side when they go to the beach. The water is a little choppy and cold and they're afraid to go in, but Harry holds them and jumps with each wave and lets them down when they feel better. Then he helps them dig for crabs and shells and build sand castles.
And then they bury him in sand.
When Harry comes home from the separation, the twins are little (about two) and he takes it upon himself to be Superdad™️. One of the things he does is sing to the twins every night before bed (he reads to Simone and Collette). And it's usually the same song, so when they're old enough they sing along with him.
For their seventh birthday, the twins desperately want a trip to Disneyland with the whole family. Harry and Y/n of course are unsure because that's just asking for trouble. They have to sit down with the twins and tell them that Daddy can't go because too many people would crowd them and it wouldn't be safe. Jules and Maeve are obviously upset, but Harry promises that they can have whatever they want at Disneyland and even though he can't go, he takes the day off so he can call and FaceTime the entire day. It's not perfect, but it's the best they can do, and the twins grow to appreciate how Harry did so much for them with their unique situation.
Maeve definitely gets sent home from school one time for punching a kid that was teasing Julian.
The twins are also unironically fans of One Direction, and they beg Harry and their uncles for a reunion. They are spearheading the movement for the reunion tour.
Speaking of 1D, Y/n sends an invite to the twins' baby shower. She's already done the "just girls" party and thinks it's a load of crap because it should be a party for both parents and all that. 2/4 come (I'll let you pick who went).
After the documentary comes out, the world obviously knows that Harry has a family, which means a lot of press. One time they're all out as a family, and they use their usual tactics to hide their whereabouts, but everyone is on high alert to see Harry Styles out with his wife and kids. And there's a big crowd when they leave a restaurant and the twins are terrified and since Y/n is dealing with shielding Natalia and Geneva, so Harry tells Simone and Collette to hold hands while he picks up Julian and hugs Maeve close to his side.
It's safe to say after that incident Harry hires security for whenever they go out as a family, or just for when Y/n and the kids go anywhere. They have a family bodyguard, who the twins love to make laugh. Or try to, anyway. He's very big and very stone-faced, but Maeve and Julian make him play with their stuffed animals and wear princess crowns and hold their hands when he walks with them.
The twins have separate rooms at home, but sometimes (especially when they're little) they have sleepovers in each other's rooms).
Julian is the first person Maeve tells anything, and he's the same. She tells him when she has her first crush, who she got for Styles Family Secret Santa, when she fails a test and she's scared to tell their parents, when she kisses a boy for the first time, when she kisses a girl for the first time. Everything, they tell each other everything.
All they ever need is each other, and sometimes Y/n and Harry worry that their other kids feel left out, and sometimes they do, but all the Styles kids have different relationships with each other, like all siblings do.

sleepover? - chris sturniolo

in which nick sturniolo invites you over and someone’s excited to see you.
• i knock three times on the door in front of me and hear heavy footsteps from inside. the door then swings open shortly after.
"hey!" nick exclaims, giving me a tight hug while spinning me around a couple times. "i haven't seen you in like forever!"
"i know!" i say. "how have you been?"
"pretty good. looking after matt and chris. gotta make sure they behave, ya' know?" he looks behind him and so do i. chris is seen walking over to us from his room.
"as usual." i say, replying to what nick said previously.
"nick, shut the fuck up. tryna’ embarrass me and shit." chris says sourly.
"motherfucker, you're the one embarrassing yourself getting all pissy. can't you see i'm trying to have a formal conversation here?" nick gestures towards me.
"trust me, i can see." chris' eyes meet mine. "i can also see that the person you're converting with hasn't greeted me yet." he smirks at me. "so disrespectful."
"oh, cry me a river." i say. "then get your ass over here."
"no, you're the one stepping foot in my home. you're supposed to get your ass over here." chris points next to him.
"okay, smartass. there's no need for all that. now y'all shake hands or something and then (y/n), c'mon." nick says, annoyed.
chris rolls his eyes and i walk over to him. "long time no see, stranger." i say. i wrap my arms around his neck and hug him. he hugs me back, squeezing me tightly while burying his face into me. his breath was warm on my skin. i couldn't help but notice that this hug felt different. his heartbeat was hard and loud. it was almost like he didn't want me to pull away, but i did.
"where's matt?" i ask. "is he out?"
"yeah, he's at nathan's so you can sleep in his bed if you don't want to sleep on the couch. trust me, he wouldn't mind." nick says.
"wait, she's sleeping here?" chris asks.
"yeah, that's the whole reason why i fucking invited her, stupid. get that look off your face.” he rolls his eyes. “someone’s excited.”
• nick and i were now watching tiktoks in his bed. we laughed our asses off pretty much the whole time.
i chuckled at a tiktok that played on his phone and expected a similar response as we usually laughed at the same ones.
"nick," i whisper. i then see that his eyes were shut. his head rested on his arm uncomfortably.
i check the time on his phone: 1:00 a.m.
i take his glasses off for him and set them on the nightstand by the bed. knowing that if they were to break while he slept, he would scold me for not saying or doing something. i found the thought humorous and smiled.
i hear him turn himself over on his other side. he feels his face for his glasses but eventually sees them beside him. "oh." he says, looking at me in dim light. "that's so embarrassing. like, okay, mom." he covers his mouth with his hand and i laugh.
"shut up, it's not embarrassing. go to sleep."
i begin to make my way towards the door but the grip of a hand around my wrist stops me. "wait."
"what?" i ask sternly. "can you get me a dr. pepper?" nick smiles at me whilst rubbing his eye tiredly.
"as intriguing at that fake ass smile is, it's one in the morning. go to sleep. goodnight!" i finally walk to the door and he groans. "fine. goodnight! don't let the bed bugs bite!"
"not if they bite you first!" he gasps and i close the door giggling.
i make my way to matt's room and open the door as well as turn on the light. i scan my surroundings. ‘i guess now i know why matt's never in his room during the day.’ i think. it was awfully barren. perfect for sleeping, i suppose.
unzipping my bag i had brought here with me, i pull out some clothes to sleep in. i throw them onto matt's bed and begin taking off the clothes i had on. suddenly, i hear the door open and see chris in the doorframe. "oh, shit!"
"chris!" i frantically cover myself with my shirt. "do you knock?"
"i didn't think you'd be in here!" he raises his voice louder and i shush him. "nick's asleep!" i hiss. "and how'd you not know i'd be in here? you were right by me and n- .. whatever! get out!"
he exits apologizing and closes the door behind him.
once i was done, i crawl into the bed and scroll on my phone. i wasn't tired quite yet, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to stay up a couple more hours.
• someone knocking on matt's door draws my attention away from my screen. "come in!" i say as loud as i could without waking anyone up. chris then walks in cautiously as if i was gonna bite him.
"look at you! learning how to knock when a door's closed. good job!" i jokingly say.
"in my defense," he starts. "this is my brother's room and i didn't expect you to steal it for a night." he sits on the bed with me.
"but your brother isn't here." i bring myself closer to his face to make my point as clear as day. "ever thought of that?" he says nothing, causing us to practically drown in each other's eyes.
the silence was so loud. almost unbearable. looking into chris' eyes wasn't, though. they were so .. mesmerizing. i felt like i was in a trance. the blue color in them and his skin tone complemented each other so well. and i've never noticed that he has freckles? interesting. i almost wanted to find out even more things about him. besides the fact that he was incredibly handsome.
i snap out of my so-called trance to find chris' lips pressed against mine. what? this was so surreal. what i wanted to do was pull away and yell, ‘chris! what the hell? first you walk in on me stripping and now this?’ but i couldn't. it seemed like our lips were glued together. i knew that wasn't the case, though. he likes me. and i think i like him too.
as he's kissing me, he pulls me onto his lap by my waist.
"wait," i panic a little. "what are you doing?"
"relax." he says back. his hands have a tight grip on my hips, his thumbs rested right on top of the bone. he slowly and steadily grinds me down onto him. a wave of pleasure rushes through my body and i feel my ears get hot. i hold his shoulders to keep myself in balance.
"you feel that?" he brings me towards him and down again, referring to what i now clearly felt beneath me. "that's what you did to me earlier." he grins and bites his lip whilst moving me forward once more. his bulge hit me with every move he made, making my breath hitch in sync with them.
"feels good?" he asks and looks up from what was going on under us. there they were: those eyes.
i nod to his question, as a sound probably would've escaped my mouth if i spoke.
"i know." one sure seemed to escape from chris' as he says that. his breath begins to shake once he pushes my hips onto his groin harder. he bucks his hips up in sync with mine. "oh, fuck." he hisses. his fingers now digging into my flesh.
"look at me." he demands, his voice thick with gravel.
a pale pink flush of arousal stained his cheeks. his eyes move across my face, examining my features.
"you're so pretty." he whispers. his hand cups my burning cheek. "i've always thought you were." it then makes its way down to my neck, sliding across my skin with incredible tension.
his hand travels towards my chest, only his middle finger traces me now. it runs across the low neckline of my tank top. i feel myself heating up more, yet goosebumps form all over my body.
"you think i could get a better view?" he asks. i was hesitant at first.
".. please?"
until that happened. the look of plead in his eyes was too irresistible.
i shrug. "since you asked so nicely." his eyes lit up.
he was growing on me. i felt myself become more comfortable with him by the minute. whether it was a good or bad thing, i didn't care. at least not right now.
i reach for the bottom of my top and bring it up slowly. with the material blocking my view for not even a second, i could feel chris' eyes on me right as the skin of my stomach was visible. it was almost like he was yearning for this moment his whole life.
eventually, he pulls it off faster than i was while in the process of removing it, wanting to see all of me. he throws it onto the floor.
his eyes lock onto my breasts as expected. as soon as they did, i felt him throb below me. "jesus." he smiles out of satisfaction whilst raising his eyebrows.
he places his hands back onto my hips. they slide up and down my bare waist, giving me chills as his fingertips graze me.
he grinds me down onto his lap again. only this time i could tell that he was much more sensitive. his bulge was much more prominent and felt like it was about to punch a hole through his pants, along with his sounds of pleasure being louder than before. he attempted to keep them contained by closing his mouth, but the pressure i put onto him wasn't making it any easier.
i watch his eyes roll back vaguely as i keep the movements of my hips persistent. his exhales were short and choppy.
he grew harder under me. because of this, i was also having trouble keeping quiet as tingles overtook my hot body.
chris kisses me, then pulls away to shush me sweetly and say, "not too loud." his lust-filled eyes burned into mine and a smirk forms on his face. "not that i don't like hearing you." god. my insides were churning. he knows exactly what to say.
i kiss him again, running my fingers through his hair as i do. we start to make out, but that soon stops when he suddenly rolls my hips onto his wood again strongly. a noisy whimper slips from my mouth and i feel him smile. i quickly break our kiss, red-faced.
"chris!" i hiss and i grab ahold of his hands on me. "nick's gonna hear me!" he chuckles in response and glances up at me, smirking "just fuckin' with ya'. i won't do it again."
"you better not." i say, initiating another kiss.
"yes ma'am." he whispers before our lips smash together again.
• chris and i then make out and such for about 20 more minutes until we hear someone enter the house followed by the jingle of keys. i hastily get off of his lap as a precaution.
"shit. has to be matt." chris says whilst getting up off of the bed and fixing his hair.
"i thought he was sleeping over at nate's!" i put my top back on and smooth my hair out as well.
"i thought so too, but i guess not."
i groan out of annoyance. now i have to move my things to the living room.
grabbing my bags, chris motions for me to stand beside him by matt's door.
"okay, be cool." he combs through his hair with his fingers. "by the way, you can sleep in my bed tonight."
flashing me a wink, he opens the door. matt caught us briefly after we tried to exit as fast as we could.
"oh, what's up, (y/n)?" matt asks from the kitchen.
"hey, matt. sorry, i thought you weren't coming back home tonight."
"no, that's okay. i'm more curious as to why chris is so goddamn red .." he points to chris and raises an eyebrow. "you guys better not be doing any freaky shit in my room."
chris makes a gagging noise. "(y/n)?! oh, hell no, that shit's nasty."
i couldn't help but notice the smile he was holding back.

Las hijas de Luna
Book: Open Heart
Pairing: Bryce Lahela (M!MC) x Luna Auclair (F!OC)
Rating: General. It’s a birth story. But there won’t be any graphic scenes.
Words: 5,000+
Summary: It’s time for Luna and Bryce to welcome their twins into the world. Will there be any complications? Or will the birth go without a hitch?
A/N: I just wanted to say thank you to the whole choices fandom. I couldn’t have come this far with my writing, my stories and my beloved characters, if I didn’t have such amazing and encouraging friends to cheer me on and support me. So thank you to anyone who’s given my writing, my stories and my characters a chance 💚
2 A/N: I’m by no means an expert with birth stories so please excuse any errors. I used my basic knowledge, friends knowledge and the internet to find out more about births but remember this is fiction, I was bit more freely with the details, but nothing too vivid or such pinky promise.
Side note: If you're curious how Luna and Bryce found out that they're expecting you can find out in my story "Cake by the Ocean"
I also included a playlist if you want to you can give it a listen here
2 Side note: I participated in the March Challenge @choicesmonthlychallenge and used the prompt plumeria flower. The plumeria flower symbolizes positivity & new beginnings 🥰 (I think it wasn't among the flowers that were mentioned, but since the story takes place in Hawaii I thought I'd use this beautiful flower).

Honolulu, Hawaii
March 30th
Luna
Bryce is about to head out on a camping trip with Keiki. They’re going to Waianae Mountain Range.
It usually took over an hour to get there. But the view was breathtaking and made up for the time it took you to get there.
I've been there with my family before. It’s marvelous. The fresh mountain air. The chirping birds, the rush of a nearby waterfall. And the light is perfect for painting. It’s truly a magnificent experience.
My cousin Skyler, Sky for short, didn’t like it so much, he got scared by spiders. Other than that it was pretty fun.
So when Keiki asked Bryce if he’d like to go? Bryce was excited to spend more time with his sister.
Because of his demanding job as a surgeon, he doesn’t get to spend as much time with his family as he would like to. Working odd hours, and being on call does that to your private life.
They’re going to spend the whole day together, going hiking, fishing and just sitting by the campfire. It was a beautiful idea, sans the camping. I’d rather go glamping, thank you very much. One time camping was enough. I grinned at the fond memory. I went camping with my family once and had to share a tent with Evie and Soraya.
It was great. It was like a sleepover. But I could’ve sworn I’ve seen a snake or two crawl outside and that kinda ruined the experience and sleeping on the cold hard floor wasn’t a picnic either.
I stood outside our house and watched as Bryce packed up the Jeep with their bags, tents, and some food my mom made for them earlier. I would’ve gone with them but I was told this could be straining for me since I’m due to give birth soon. With twins, you never know.
I’ve been having small contractions since this morning but I didn’t want to ruin Bryce’s trip with Keiki.
Gnawing on my lip I’m trying to decide if I should tell him, because if I do then he’ll cancel his trip and I don’t want to do that.
So I’ve been a bit worried all day.
Bryce looked up at me as if he felt my stare.
”Don‘t look so worried Lunes. We can go another weekend if you’re so worried. It’s close to your due date, Lu. I mean I know that twins usually arrive earlier than the expected due date.“
He looked slightly concerned and was torn if he should cancel the trip. His brown eyes were full of worry. The usual spark in his eyes was dimmed.
I walked towards him and tried to lighten the mood.
”I’m fine. See? Totally peachy!“ I smiled and did a little pirouette. Or tried to at least. It looked more awkward than what a pirouette should look like.
Bryce wasn’t convinced by my little performance.
We both heard some barking. That must be Knox, Adam‘s dog. Adam had a meeting with a potential client in Maui. He makes and builds his own furniture, and has his own company right here in Honolulu.
So when he asked us if we could look after Knox? We were more than happy to.
So both Maxi and Knox joined us in the house and are currently in our garden enjoying the sun and playing a round of catch.
I smiled and Bryce relaxed a little too. I hugged him, he pulled me closer, and I breathed in the fresh cotton scent and some cherry from his shower gel.
I looked up at him.
”If I should go into labour I’ve packed my bag just in case. Maxi and my mom are inside, my cousins and Meilani will be here shortly and I have your and Keiki's number on speed dial. It’s all good. Go have fun. We‘ll still be here when you come back.“
Bryce sighed and went to close the trunk of the Jeep. He walked over to me again.
”I hate leaving you here. Maybe I should just stay here. Yeah, that’s a good idea. Keiki will understand.“
I laughed as he tried to walk back into our house and I pushed him towards the car.
”Go and have fun B. I mean it. But don’t have too much fun without me.“
He took one last look at me and gave me a lingering kiss. One that made my toes curl. I smiled against his lips.
When he broke off the, he kissed me on the top of my head and got into the car.
I grinned at him and he smiled back, though the worry isn’t completely gone, it’s dimmed down a little. So I tried a reassuring smile.
”It’s going to be fine babe.“
”Alright Lunes. I’m sure things will work out.“
He nodded as if more to himself and grinned.
”Keiks let’s go. You can text your boyfriend in the car.“ He yell d towards the house and Keiki ran out the door with a blue metallic bag over her shoulder.
”Fyi he’s not my boyfriend. I was calling a guy who’s name I’m not telling you, so that you can win the betting pool.“
”Jesus.“ Bryce muttered, making me and Keiki laugh out loud.
She hugged me, smelling like peaches.
”Bye Looney.“
I grinned at them.
”Have fun guys. Love you.“
Bryce honked once and they were off, the headlights getting smaller.
My mom, Maxi, and Knox Adam’s dog were keeping me company. My mom said she’d spend the day with me until Bryce got back.
I walked inside our house once Bryce and Keiki were on their way.
As I closed the front door, a sudden pain made me clutch my stomach. I let out a slow breath. Okay, this was definitely a stronger contraction.
Maxi walked towards me, Knox in tow. She grinned but then took one look at me and rushed towards me.
”What’s wrong sugarplum?“
She guided me gently to the couch.
”I don’t know. It felt like a contraction. But that’s not possible. I'm not due yet.“
Once I sat down the pain was almost gone. I sighed in relief. Maybe it was because I overexerted myself today?
Meinlani said that could happen. I lifted my legs and laid down on the couch. Damn, this felt good. I sighed in relief.
Knox puts his head on my knee and I pet him behind his ears. Which makes him lick my hand. He’s a sweet dog.
My mom came over. She took one glance at me and a worried look entered her blue-green eyes.
”You okay baby?“
I nodded. Eyes closed. And I am. The pain was gone. At least for now. Maybe it was just a false alarm, and the small contractions I’ve been having since this morning were just preparation? I hoped that’s true.
”Why don’t I make you some chamomile tea? Hmm?“ She put a strand of my dark blonde hair behind my ear. I sighed in bliss.
”Two sugars?“
She kissed me on my forehead.
”You got it, baby.“
The next couple of hours were pretty uneventful. We chatted and watched Bridgerton. But I just couldn’t concentrate. I love that show. But I had a bad feeling.
Earlier I tried to reach Bryce to check in if they got there okay, but the call didn’t go through. Maybe they had bad cell signal? Of all days for the cell service not to work? Seriously screw you cell towers.
I was almost fast asleep, Knox by my side when the doorbell rang. I opened my sleepy eyes as Maxi got up and pinpointed me with a look.
”Don’t you dare get up. I’ve got it.“
I laughed and stayed on the couch.
”Who missed us?“
I turned my head and saw my cousins Evie and Soraya walk in. Followed by our friend and my OB/gyn Meilani, and Soraya‘s wife.
They all leaned down and hugged me.
”Good to see you’re following my orders to rest.“
”I’m a good student.“ I grinned.
Maxi snorted.
”That’s not true. You were up and about almost all day.“
”Luna!“
”Ohh. Someone’s getting a lecture.“ Evie said from across the room.
My mom let out a laugh.
Meilani was holding back a smile I can tell.
”Well you’re resting now, which I’m counting as a win.“ Meilani said and sat in the other armchair next to Meilani. Soon we were all laughing.
My mom's phone rang on the counter.
”Hey love.“
I could tell from the tone of her voice that it was my dad. She only talked like this when my dad was near.
”No, I haven’t heard anything about thunderstorm warnings. I’m with loon-moon, you know since Bryce went on that trip with Keiki.“
She listened some more and she was darting concerned looks at the phone.
”Yeah I agree. We’ll stay inside, don't worry. Love you too.“
My ears perked up at the words ”thunderstorm warnings“ and I sat up with Meilani's help.
My mom disconnected the call and we all looked at her.
I stared at my mom expectantly.
”Brian called and told me there were severe thunderstorm warnings issued. They’re urging everyone who doesn’t need to be outside to stay at home. I hope Bryce and Keiki will be okay. Looney, have you tried reaching him?“
I nodded.
”My calls and texts didn’t go through. What if he gets hurt? And they can’t reach anyone? Oh god.“
I tried not to cry but it was no use. I was full-on crying because I was worried about Bryce. Maxi reached me and hugged me.
”Hey come on don’t worry. Bryce is a tough guy, and he’s pretty resourceful. But don’t tell him I told you that. He'll tease me until eternity. So try to think positive. He’ll be okay.“
She kissed my temple and I tried to relax, but a shrivel of worry stayed where it was.
I nodded, got up and slowly walked to the bathroom. After drinking that chamomile tea I had to pee all the damn time.
It was good thinking that Bryce and I had installed another bathroom downstairs. To be honest I couldn’t walk upstairs right now just to use the bathroom.
As I opened the door I felt a wetness dribble down my feet. I stood frozen to the ground. Not moving an inch.
I was scared that if I moved I’d make it worse. I know that‘s technically not possible. But I’m scared. And a slight panic settled in the depths of my stomach.
Oh no. Not now. Please, not now. It’s too early.
I tried using the breathing techniques I used when I have an anxiety attack. Maybe that would calm me down a little.
Is the water supposed to break? I thought that was just a thing from movies and TV shows. But apparently, it’s a thing.
I must’ve made a tiny sound because I heard some tiny little footsteps clacking on the wooden floorboards.
Knox must’ve heard me. He stood there and watched me. When I didn’t say anything, he barked and I put my hand through his soft golden fur.
”It’s okay. No need to worry right? Women have given birth before, right?“ Even I could hear the panic in my voice.
”Lunes? Do you need help to sit down on the toilet?“ I heard the others snicker.
But I was not in the mood for jokes.
”My water just broke.“
They stopped laughing and I could hear them coming closer.
Meilani was the first one followed by my mom, Maxi, Soraya, and Evie.
Meilani shot me a reassuring smile.
”Okay no need to worry. Why don’t you go and wash up? We’ll grab your packed bag and drive you to the hospital?“
I nodded and Maxi was by my side and coached me through my breathing.
”Deep breaths sugarplum. Come on. In and out.“
She instructed me and I repeated it a couple of times before I was able to breathe normally again.
”I’ll go wash up.“ I said.
”I’ll bring you a change of clothes.“ Maxie said and went upstairs.
Evie and Soraya stood there unsure what to do, so I turned to them.
”Can you guys try Bryce’s phone again? I’d feel better knowing that he and Keiki are okay.“
Evie nodded and Soraya went outside to see if Meilani needed any help.
”I couldn’t reach him before. But I’ll keep calling him.“ Evie said.
I went inside the bathroom to wash up. Hoping we’ll make it to the hospital in time. Hopefully, the streets will be cleared despite all the storm warnings.
When I went outside I saw Soraya rushing in. A concerned look on her face.
”We’ll have a problem getting to the hospital. As I was turning on the engine, I noticed that the car was stuck. It hasn’t stopped raining, so the trails are too muddy from the rain.“
I sighed and when a contraction rolled around I tried breathing through it. But I couldn’t help the whimper that escaped.
”I was afraid of that. The calls to the hospital didn’t go through either. I tried calling my head nurse Valerie. But I can’t reach anyone.“
She looked around trying to reassess the situation.
”Okay we’ve got this no problem.“
”What do you need?“ My mom sprinted into action.
Meilani looked around.
”We need to make a make-shift birthing room. The contractions are pretty early on, so it could take hours before Luna is ready to push. She has to be fully dilated. Again that could take hours, and maybe the streets will be cleared up by then. We also don’t have any medical supplies or an epidural that I could give to Luna. I’m not going to risk an infection to either her or the twins.“
My mom nodded.
”Okay Meilani and Maxine you stay with Luna and make her feel comfortable. She doesn’t need any added stress to her right now. Soraya, Evie, and I will try to get the car rolling again. So that we can make it to the hospital.“
Everyone nodded while I was walking back and forth, not able to sit still. When I’m anxious I tend to walk a dent into the carpet.
When everyone was done making a makeshift birthing room, Meilani pointed for me to lie down.
”Alright. Let’s make you comfortable.“
Meilani sighed and looked up at me. A serious look on her face.
”How long?“ I asked, my eyes full of tears because Bryce wasn’t here and I couldn't reach him.
”We’ve got time. So try and relax. I know it sounds a lot, but you’ve got this okay?“
”Sure I’ll just lie down and feel all peachy. That’s a-okay.“
Meilani smiled at me, completely ignoring my sarcasm.
”But just so you know the contractions are only going to get more painful. So I’m going to time the distance to know for sure when it’s time to push okay? That way we’ll be able to at least have some time to prepare alright?“
I sucked in a breath and nodded.
”The contractions are going to be worse than what I’m feeling now? Yeah sure no problem.“
”You got this babe.“ Meilani smiled and her smile put me a bit at ease.

Bryce
Nothing but the blue sky above us as we drove towards Waianae Mountain Range. Listening to Elvis Presley songs. The top is rolled up, and we’re singing out loud.
Keiki laughed at my singing technique. Making me sing even louder.
It took us a little longer than an hour, but hey that’s fine. We made it and that’s the most important thing.
I turned off the engine of our Jeep when we arrived at the campsite. We got out of the car and put our bags, the tents, and the food we packed out of the car trunk.
I grinned at Keiki. Then I heard her curse as she tried to get the tent up and I grinned.
”Need any help there Keiks?“ I smiled.
”Nope. I’ve got it.“ She replied.
”Hopefully this time you can get your tent up, not like last time. When it all fell apart.“
Keiki turned around and pointed an accusing finger at me.
”That‘s so not true. You helped me build it. So technically it’s your fault it fell apart.“
I laughed.
While putting up the tent, I couldn’t shake off this bad feeling I’ve had ever since we started the trip. I tried reaching Lunes but there’s bad cell service out here. I barely have any bars on my cell phone. It seems as if there won’t be any cell service for some time.
When we heard thunder roaring in the distance we both stopped setting up our tents.
My gut feeling was confirmed when I saw dark grey clouds rolling in, where just a while ago the sky was brilliantly blue before.
”Damn it.“ I cursed again.
I went to my car and turned on the radio to see if there were any severe thunderstorm alerts issued for Honolulu. I found a radio station and only caught the last sentence.
”…urge people to stay inside. There are severe thunderstorm warnings for Honolulu, Kailua, Waipahu…“
I turned the radio off and walked towards Keiki who looked up from building her tent.
”You okay?“ She asked with apprehension written across her face.
”There were several thunderstorms issued and I have a bad feeling. I also can’t reach Luna.“
I pushed my hand through my hair.
”I’m sure she’s fine.“ Keiki tried to reassure me, but the worry stayed with me.
Keiki reached into her bag and gave me a signal booster for my phone.
”Luna's dad gave me a signal booster for my phone when he heard we were going camping. I’ve brought it with me just in case.“
”You’re a lifesaver Keiks.“
She smiled at me.
I tried reaching Luna and when I did it was not her voice I heard. It was Evie‘s. Luna’s cousin.
”Thank god Bryce. We’ve been trying to reach you for hours.“
I could hear a voice in the background.
”Evie? What’s wrong? Is Luna okay?“
Evie was back on the line.
”Her water broke. We’re on our way to the hospital.“
Her voice stopped me in my tracks, my heart started beating faster and I could feel the blood rush through my veins.
”What? When? Is she okay?“
Keiki looked towards me and when she saw my panicked expression she walked towards me and put her hand on my shoulder. I gripped her hand tightly.
”Wait, I'll give her the phone.“
I heard some rustling and then Luna was on the line.
”B?“
When I heard her voice I breathed out a breath of relief. I didn’t realize how tense I was. My shoulders dropped, since Luna’s voice instantly relaxed me.
”Are you okay?“ I asked because I wanted to hear if she was in any pain.
”I…yeah. I’m fine. But B? I can’t do this without you. Please tell me you’ll be here?“
I sighed. And activated my doctor mode. I tried to act as if this was one of my patients. But it only worked for a short amount of time.
”I’ll make it. Don’t worry, and don’t start without me. But seriously you’re in good hands. Meilani is an exceptional doctor…“
I didn’t get to finish when I heard her cry out.
”Lunes?“ I said and then I heard Meilanis' voice.
”She’s fine for now. We’re on our way to the hospital. So you better get your ass there Lahela.“
”How far along is she until she has to push?“
”We’ve got a little bit of time, but soon. We wanted to go there earlier but with the thunderstorms, it was raining and the car was stuck. The others are trying to get the car out so we can get to the hospital.“
I nodded as if she could see me.
”Alright I’ll be there.“
I heard more noises.
”I have to go Bryce. Luna needs me. Please be there. She can’t do this without you.“
”I promise I’ll make it.“
That’s when we ended the call. And I pinched my nose. And then I had to laugh because it reminded me so much of something Ethan would do.
”What’s wrong?“ Keiki asked me. And when I didn't answer her immediately she yelled my name.
”Bryce!“
Her voice shook me out of my daze.
”Luna’s water broke.“
”Wait, didn't you say she wasn’t due yet?”
She looked at the dark sky above us and her eyes turned worried.
I rubbed my neck nervously.
”Yeah. But sometimes you can go into labor earlier. Especially with twins.“
”Then we should go. I don’t think this camping trip will take place today. The weather is too bad. There could be landslides, especially in the mountains. And we don’t want to be here when that happens.“
I nodded and we both got our stuff packed up.
”You’re right Keiks. We should head back. Before the roads get too bad.“
I was loading everything into the car when I heard Keiki's voice.
”I think it might be too late for that big brother.“
I stuck my head out of the car to see where Keiki was pointing.
She pointed at the trail that was completely covered in mud. Even with our Jeep, we’ll have a hard time getting the car going.
Dammit. Of all days for a thunderstorm to arrive it had to be today of all days. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad omen. Though I truly hoped that it was a good omen and that the Hawaiian gods would be merciful with the weather today. Saying a silent prayer I looked up and hoped I would be there to witness the birth of my children.
I breathed out and turned to my little sister.
”Alright. Let’s not panic. Let’s try if we can get the car onto the road.“
Keiki nodded, but I could tell she was not convinced that we’d get the car on the road.
I turned on the engine and after a couple of seconds we got on the road and I swerved to avoid any muddy parts on the street.
We made it halfway home when we hit a pothole and got stuck.
It rattled the car for a second, and I tried to back out of the pothole, but no dice. No matter how hard I tried we were stuck.
”What now? Should we try to move the car?“ Keiki asked.
I shook my head and I hit my hands on the steering wheel. Frustrated.
”Fuck. I hate that we got stuck. Today of all days.“
Keiki slapped me on my arm.
”Well we won’t solve it by sitting inside the car. Let’s see how bad we’re stuck.“
I felt myself nodding and we got out to see how big the pothole was.
”Yeah okay we’re screwed.“ Keiki whistled.
I shot her an annoyed look.
”What? I’m just saying.“ She grinned and I laughed half-heartedly, as I was trying to calculate how long it would take us if we made a run for it.
”How long would it take us if we made a run for it?“ I voiced my thoughts aloud.
I looked at my sister who got her phone to see how far it would take us.
”It’s 10 miles from here.“
”We could make it in time.“
Keiki chewed on her fingernails. Painted in a deep pink shade.
”You’re faster than me. I could stay here in the car and you could go to the hospital. I’d only slow you down. I’m not exactly a sports person.“
I was torn if I should just go, leave my sister behind, and miss the birth of my twins or if we should make a run for it.
Keiki sighed.
”We’re wasting time debating this. Just go. Give me the booster for my phone and we can stay in touch. I’ll be fine I promise.“
I sighed and looked at her.
”Are you sure Kei-Kei?“
She nudged me forward.
”Go! I don’t want my big brother to miss the birth of my nieces. I’d never hear the end of it. Also if you faint please take pics, I want to remember this day.“ She said grinning.
”Very funny Keiks. I’ll stay in touch.“
”I’m going to be a dad.“ I shouted and she grinned at me, shaking her head.
I gave her the signal booster for her phone, kissed her on her forehead, and made a run for it.
As I was running I kept praying that I made it on time for the birth of our twins.
Which spurred me to run faster.

Kuakini Medical Center, Honolulu Hawaii
Luna
As another strong contraction hit me I cried out.
Meilani kept shooting me dirty looks.
”Luna. As your doctor, I’m telling you we can’t wait any longer.“
”Please, Mei. I can’t do this without him. Please. Just 5 more minutes, please?“
Meilani closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she crossed her arms over her chest and sighed, seeing that I wouldn’t budge on this.
”Alright, fine. We’ll wait 5 more minutes. After that, it’s pushing time.“
I nodded.

Bryce
I was wheezing. Almost wept from joy. My calves are killing me, but I’m almost there. Just a couple more steps and I‘m at the hospital. I could see the building already coming closer.
I made it to the hospital, and rushed through the hospital doors all muddy and sweaty.
As I was on my way to the elevator a voice stopped me.
”Where do you think you’re going, young man? This is a hospital.“
When I turned around Brenda gave me the evil eye.
”Lahela you know the rules.“
”Yes I know. Please! Luna is upstairs, she's about to give birth. I can’t miss that. Please.“
”At least get a little cleaned up!“
I groaned. Seriously?
”Could you be a Karen somewhere else?“ I muttered under my breath.
”What was that?“ She cleared her throat.
”Nothing. I’ll get cleaned up, upstairs. Thanks, Brenda.“
”Yeah. Yeah.“
I sighed in relief as I punched the elevator button and the elevator rode up.
All I cared about was that I made it to the hospital to be there for Lunes when our twins were born.
The elevator dinged and I almost stumbled out of it, because I couldn’t wait to get out into the hall.
The first person I saw was Grace, Luna’s mom walking back and forth. Soraya and Evie were next to her sitting on the hard plastic chairs.
When Grace saw me coming in she started to cry and hugged me. I hugged her back. Though I’m anxious to see Luna.
”Thank god you made it Bryce.“ She put her hands around my face and I smiled at her.
I turned to look at Grace when I didn't see Luna anywhere.
She pointed to a room to the right and that’s when I heard painful screams coming from inside.
Luna must’ve already started pushing. I winced. Hating I couldn’t be there for her from the start. But I tried to not dwell on that. I’m here now and that’s what counts.
Grace smiled at me.
”Luna has already started pushing. She waited until the last minute. But she had to start.“
I nodded and got going.
”She’s inside with Meilani and her head nurse Valerie.“
I nodded and opened the door. Meilani didn’t look up as she guided Luna through the birth.
I quickly scrubbed in as fast as I could and joined Luna and Meilani.
”Okay that’s good Lu. That’s good. Just keep pushing.“ Meilani said in a soothing voice when I got to Luna’s side who shot me an angry look.
”Where the fuck were you B?“
I winced and then I smiled at her for using a curse word.
”Let’s leave story time for after you’ve given birth. What’s important is that I’m here.“
”I’m going to kick your ass for this later.“
I grinned and kissed her forehead.
”I wouldn’t have it any other way.“
Meilani grinned and her head nurse Valerie stood next to Meilani, keeping track of the heart monitor.
Meilani‘s voice got me out of my trance.
”Dad? Wanna do the honors?“
I squeezed Luna‘s hand and stood in the front to catch the first baby.
As I did, a loud cry filled the room and I suddenly held one of my girls in my arms.
”I forget how tiny they are when they’re born.“ Valerie smiled next to me and I nodded.
I looked at my little girl, and a whole new love entered my heart. I wasn’t prepared for this feeling.
It’s as if my heart was going to burst from all this love. Making space for new people entering my life. I still couldn’t believe Luna and I created these beautiful babies.
I took my daughter's little hand in mine and kissed it.
”Hi there, beautiful. Look at you being all pretty huh?“
”A new member in your Ohana.“ Valerie kept sniffing.
I nodded and kept rocking the baby and when she opened her eyes she looked at me and stopped crying.
”It’s your awesome dad. So cool right? Look at your mom. Super strong and going at it.“
Valerie laughed softly at my comment and I grinned.
I turned to Luna and waved with my daughter's little hand at Luna.
I kissed our baby's tiny forehead and Valerie took her from me. Taking care of the washing and weighing.
Then I was at Luna’s side again and together we got to see our second baby. Another loud cry just like her twin sisters filled the room, as she entered the world.
My heart couldn’t be fuller at this second, as I looked down at Luna and saw her tired but happy face look up at me. I kissed her and she sighed.
Meilani‘s voice got us out of our reverie. We must’ve looked as if we smoked too much weed. Goofy expressions on our faces as we looked at Meilani.
”Congratulations you two. I’m so happy that I could be a part of it.“
”I already know my vagina won’t be the same after this.“
Meilani laughed out loud and I grinned too. If Lunes can make jokes then she’s okay.
Valerie walked towards us and handed me Kehlani and Alaia. We heard the door open and when we looked up all we saw were the faces of Grace, Evie, and Soraya.
They all opened the door wider and entered the room.
”Look Keilani Mae and Alaia Rose are finally here with us, Lunes. They’re just as beautiful as their mom and dad.“
Luna rolled her eyes.
”I knew you’d bring yourself into the conversation.“
”What can I say? I’m good-looking. Says so on the onesie.“
Luna just shook her head and grinned, probably too tired for a comeback.
”You’ve done it. You gave birth to two beautiful girls.“ Meilani wiped away some tears. And we all just smiled, letting this little miracle, er…miracles, seep in.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
Soraya and Evie walked towards us and held the little twins. Cuddling them and peppering them with kisses.
”Sky is going to be so jealous that he didn’t hold the twins first. Let’s call him.“ Evie said and Soraya nodded.
They handed them back and I held them close as I put them on Luna’s chest.
Luna started to sob when she saw the twins for the first time. She touched Kehlani's little cheek with her forefinger.
”They’re so tiny and smell so beautiful. Like a new book. For a new chapter of our lives.“
She looked up at me and I nodded, too full of emotions to form a proper sentence so I just nodded and we enjoyed the time with our twins.

Luna
Holding your babies? It was a whole new level of love.
It’s something I didn’t know I wanted so much, as I held them close and took in their newborn smell. My love, my life.
I‘d lay down my life for my twins. I’d do anything to keep them safe.
As I looked down at them. I couldn’t believe they were here. It seemed as if I’ve been waiting for years to see their tiny little faces. I swore I’ll be a good mom.
A new exciting and thrilling feeling filled my body.
Giving me a new superpower. I’ve never felt this strong. I felt invincible. That’s probably the meds talking. But I don’t fucking care. It’s exactly where we belonged. I never thought this was the road my life would take me.
With Bryce, Kehlani Mae, and Alaia Rose. Our beautiful little family. Our Ohana. Our lives, no our love has grown ten times fold.
I smiled up at Bryce who had the same look in his cinnamon brown eyes as I did.
He leaned down to give me a gentle kiss, making this moment perfect.

Bryce
Luna fell asleep and was resting in the hospital bed. As I kept holding the twins.
There was a rocking chair in the corner and I sat down with the twins.
I've been rocking the twins to sleep for over an hour, but it felt as if we were in our tiny pink bubble of love. Nothing could touch us.
I heard a soft knock and looked up as the door opened.
It’s Grace and Brian. Luna’s parents.
Grace just started crying when she saw me again. She tugged at her husband's jacket.
”Do you see what I see? Oh my god Brian, look at those two beautiful angels! I mean I know I’ve seen them earlier, but my heart is about to explode.“
Grace shook Brian’s arm. Almost ripped it out of its sockets and I chuckled to myself. I can see where Luna got her excitement from.
”I know I’m standing right next to you so I see exactly what you see darling.“ Brian replied softly.
Grace rolled her blue-green eyes, just like Luna‘s.
”I don’t even care about your sarcasm right now.“
I smiled at them.
”Do you want to hold them?“ I offered knowing that if I don’t, Grace will just take them from me and cuddle them close to her.
Grace just nodded.
”Say hi to Kehlani Mae and Alaia Rose.“
”Hi there Lani.“ Grace held Kehlani‘s little hand and she blinked her sleepy brown eyes open.
Brian smiled fondly.
”Rosie looks so sweet.“
I sat back down next to Luna who was sleeping peacefully after not only giving birth to one but two babies.
Our rockstar.
I loved that we were able to experience the moment of our twins' birth together. Our love and genetics made this happen.
This is our Ohana. And I’m grateful that we‘ve started a new chapter in our lives.

Steve Harrington is 100% without a doubt a girl dad
He knew
Even before any of your girls were born
That they would all have two things
His perfect hair and winning personality
Unfortunately he knows there’s also a pretty good chance they might have some of that mean girl streak he retired in high school
He’s fully aware of that going into this
And he doesn’t want his kids to make the same mistakes he did
So he really prioritizes teaching them from a young age to be compassionate and think about how their words and actions could affect other people
To look out for the kids that are shy or lonely or don’t have anyone to play with
He teaches them to use their powers for good, like aunt El
But before we get into any more of that
When Steve realized all six of your kids were going to be girls???
He was so over the moon
He initially was hoping for three girls and three boys
You had two girls back to back at first
Then for your third pregnancy, you found out you were having twins
Both girls
After your fifth girl he realized you could go 6 for 6 all girls
The idea made him way more excited than he expected to be
In the second trimester of your sixth pregnancy, the doctor looked at the ultrasound closely before turning to you and steve with a smile
“It’s a girl!”
Steve was so happy
He couldn’t stop hugging you and crying
Kissing your forehead, thanking you for giving him such beautiful children, such a beautiful family
When you were pregnant with the twins, he really started stocking up on girl stuff for them
He realized he’s going to jump from two daughters to four
And if Steve Harrington is anything, he’s a provider
He gets your oldest two to help him pick out stuff for them and their new sisters
Barbies, baby dolls, nail polish, hair accessories, dress up costumes, my little ponies, polly pocket sets, and much more
All picked out by them
Soon find their way into your living room and nursery
Not to mention the books and movies about princesses, fairies, fashion, friendship, and every other hyperfeminine childhood dream
And all the classics about sisterhood too
Vhs tapes of pride and prejudice, little women, sense and sensibility, fiddler on the roof
Even my neighbor totoro
Are all quick to become favorites at your house
A few years later when all six of your girls are here
Steve has become a master at being a girl dad
He can braid hair like a champion and he’s never met a tea party he didn’t like
And every time one of your girls brings home a new friend, quietly telling steve that they were playing by themselves and she didn’t want them to feel lonely
He knows he’s done his job well
Don’t get me wrong, there have been times where someone’s copped an attitude and been grounded from lip gloss or butterfly clips for a few days to keep that in check
But for the most part they remember and follow every word of their dad’s advice
As mentioned in another post, sleepovers are a huge deal
Once a week you’ll rent a couple movies for your girls so they can watch and play barbies while you and Steve plan and coordinate schedules for the upcoming week
There’s usually some birthday party or sleepover
And there’s definitely more than a few play dates to coordinate too
Plus ballet classes, gymnastics, girl scouts
Not to mention the horse riding lessons your twins have been begging you for
You both sit down with some coffee or tea and get everything planned out
It takes some effort to coordinate pick ups and drop offs and homework assignments
But it means his girls are happy, so he really loves to do it
The only flaw in Steve’s parenting
The one thing you’ve been warning him not to do too much
Is spoil them
But your stevie really is a provider at heart
When his girls beg him for something with puppy eyes
Especially if they all ask together to wear him down
He doesn’t stand a chance
Besides, he really really loves spoiling them
He loves seeing his girls happy
Every time he caves, it’s always followed with a “alright, now let’s pick something out for your mom”
Because holy shit he loves spoiling you too
He loves you so much
He loves everything about you
And he especially loves the beautiful family you gave him
Every day his daughters remind him more and more of you
And he really couldn’t be prouder
He’s looking forward to when the years full of makeup and dates and prom dress shopping
And everything before and after that
He’s so proud of who they are and who they’re going to become
He’s so proud to be their dad
And to get to parent them alongside you
There’s not one day that goes by without glitter and lisa frank stickers and lip gloss and hair clips
And there’s not a day that goes by without laughter and smiles and hugs a
And Steve telling all of you how much he loves you
