(there will still be a post tomorrow to keep on track)#The original 3 panel comic idea was fine but the point of this new schedule was to take time to push myself a bit more.#I was taking a look back through some comic artists I felt inspired by #and I really loved how Lynda Barry fills her gutters with patterns and doodles!#Obviously I'm not going as absolutely wild with it as she does but it was a great exercise!#I truly think the gutters are the most important and most overlooked part of any comic. There's lots going on in that space.#It's the same with timeskips. The implied movement between moments that we don't see changes depending on how wide that gap is #You're here for the funny tags so here's some that ties this time talk together:#I think LWJ was thinking about that second note from day 2 but it took him 7 days of hazing to commit it to paper.#I think he sends it a day later and immediately regrets it. Chasing down the messenger and everything.#You know if something actually happened to his brother he would never ever forgive himself for putting the bad vibes out there.#Third time skip was the hardest because there was so many possible flavours of jokes here. Day 8/9 was a personal favourite.#day 14 was also funny (week by week). I think the debate on 'how long does lwj take to catch feelings' is more or less:#'how long does it take for him to arrive at a particular stage of grief and yearning (and awareness of it all)#This is a symphony. There is an act by act structure. Every day he is fighting to keep his old sensibilities. He is losing so badly.#(I'll be returning to the main comic soon but there is more of this AU to come!)

#mirabelle #mirabelle isat #mirabelle chevalier #isabeau #isabeau isat #siffrin #siffrin isat #bonnie #bonnie isat #odile #odile isat #in stars and time #isat #who let a child gamble (these 4 adults)#no money was involved just some very weighty very pretty actual poker chips so that was cool #by 'creative liberties' i mean that me and my friend (we voiced bonnie and odile) were the first ones out (aka why odile is losing)#and i used the time being 'broke' to draw and was deciding between bonnie drawing at the table and odile dealer #or just go with a more in character interpretation of how the two would play poker #you can't see her expression but odile is annoyed she's the first to lose #or on the verge of it #my friend who played isabeau absolutely creamed us and the friend who played siffrin made a chip pyramid #mirabelle is checking because the player for her also played morgan from of the devil so we learnt that check sign :P #also i wanted to draw a serious mirabelle #honestly lowkey (highkey actually) my most favourite part of this is how i drew bonnie's hands #like they're balled fists but also that's just literally a thumb and you'd think it wouldn't work but it DOES and i LOVE IT #kinda like how the actual portraits of bonnie have balled fists but defined fingers regardless but in an original pose :P

Mark Scout was built in a fucking lab to be my favourite guy. The second they introduced him by showing him weeping uncontrollably in his car I was hooked. I could watch that man be sad forever.

YES I am ALSO like...90-95% convinced that we're going to be getting a story card for Silver once we wrap around back to diasomnia. 👀 especially because the way things are going, Silver will be the only character whose dream we haven't seen -- yet???? -- and that just. y'know. makes me wonder!

although I do think it would be VERY funny if he got a story card and the groovy was just "regular Silver except with one beautiful single crystal tear". this is actually a lot coming from him.

(he used up all his emotion yelling at a baby that one time, there's none left for a proper groovy-level cry.)

setting pessimism aside to daydream about my ideal bucktommy makeup scenario and i just... keep oscillating between buck extending an olive branch and tommy reaching out first. there's merit in both. yes i'd love for buck to discard passivity and fight for this salvageable relationship — for buck to look tommy straight in the eyes and tell him that his sharp edges and his vulnerable insides don't make him any less deserving of love. that he's not blinded by the excitement of novelty or misguided admiration — even without the full picture, buck has seen enough pieces of the puzzle that makes up tommy's whole to know that he loves the entirety of him, unspoken faults and past sins included. that buck can't guarantee forever but he sure as hell can try to build the sturdy foundation of a shared life based on the hope for more. that sometimes you just luck out on the first draw and there's nothing wrong with good fortune.

but it would also be extremely healing if tommy knocked on buck's door to chase after his own second chance. to say "i want you more than i'm scared of hurting" when buck asks him what's changed in 4 months — because tommy would rather live with scars than be haunted by regrets and what-ifs. because buck is worth the risk of never recovering from having loved him

#bucktommy #the more i think about it the more partial i am to the second option. i need them to run into each other at a scene #working together is awkward and painful and there's simmering anger too behind the social niceties and necessary professionalism #but it eventually leads to a honest discussion during which explanations and due apologies are given #following their talk it seems like that chapter of buck's love life is forever closed. after all he now has something that resembles #closure. they part way with a bittersweet final-sounding see you around evan. i hope you find the happiness you deserve.#and buck is resigned. it's time to bid goodbye to the first man he loved #except there's a knock at buck's door later that night. and tommy's standing at the other side. he looks #anxious yet determined and it's such a strange expression on his face — uncharacteristically nervous and already braced for impact #a man walking towards a pointed knife hoping he's welcomed with absolution and not a stab #and we circle right back to the can we talk? question that started it all.#i would like to see it gif #rima.txt

honestly the way stella gets her charmix is some of the most vulnerable and raw writing i've ever seen in the show. many of us know stella has a hard time talking about her parents while layla struggles with issues stemming from her feelings of not belonging in season two. and so when layla innocuously brings up stella's parents, she feels guilty and out of place for not immediately recognizing the sensitivity, which awakens long-unhealed wounds in both of them - namely around loneliness and isolation. it's crucial here that stella initiates the conversation with layla, as she can empathize with her in this moment, and in doing so they grow closer and more understanding of each other. the fact that stella gets a mirror-shaped pendant shortly after is just a cherry on top because stella and layla are mirror images of their past selves and traumas in this scene regardless of how or why they have felt alone or isolated.
