Getting into Hollow Knight was one of the best things I'd ever done for a lot of reasons but namely the fact that I am significantly less afraid of bugs than I used to be

it's actually so fascinating to me that Brennan has created a character that maintains a pretty relaxed and mild-mannered demeanor and has said multiple times that the absolute Core of her is "FEAR" and how often we see this Fear manifest specifically in Avoidance; it really nails a relationship to that mentality where your brain fully Stops recognizing the emotion properly out of like, sheer self-defense from the stress of having to carry it all the time
I think this is also perfectly showcased in the way we tend to see Tula swing so suddenly from 'level and steady' to 'snarling Panic' and then back again - Just because your brain has detached itself from the Conscious Recognition of the emotion doesn't mean it can Actually stop itself from experiencing it. So the Fear is always there and always acting as a stressor, but because of that inability to Identify it there's no way to recognize or address it before that final straw hits and your bodymind jumps Straight into Full Meltdown Mode; but then once again, once you drop even a Little bit below that Peak Terror your brain ceases to process the emotion; it's like the most exhausting form of Poor Object Permanence in the world
And even if Tula is aware of this happening to her, that doesn't really make it any easier to deal with / address. Even if you're able to spot the symptoms Around the emotion -- chest pain, irritation, nausea, whatever -- because the Emotion Itself is basically impossible to find, you can't really Successfully Pin Down what the problem is OR a way to cope with it. If you can't figure out That You Are Anxious, then figuring out What Is Making You Anxious is impossible, which makes Find A Way To Make Peace With That incomprehensible. That's where the Avoidance comes in: you can no longer identify what might be a Dangerous Situation, which means that Anything New has a big potential to be Really Bad in a variety of ways (ranging "I don't Feel Good" to "Fully Lashing Out bc you've entered Fight/Flight and can't get out of it" to "Actual Outside Danger This Time") and that means the Only Way you know how to be Safe is to just Avoid Doing Anything New and Only stick to Familiar Situations, because anything unfamiliar is a monster of a gamble you don't know how to prepare for or cope with

bruh my hands r so sweaty all the time now i need to go to the bathroom 1000x times a day to wash them bc i can't type when they feel icky
#ehhhh i think most of these effects go away with time#other weird effects#- literally zero anxiety now. i have talked to more random strangers in the last two weeks than the last two months#- sex drive almost completely gone (yay!) can't nut anyways#- the tiredness is getting better but idk if its bc im consuming more coffee. brain fog etc etc#- way more relaxed with spending oops#- freaky ass dreams and also wake up 5 times a night (getting better tho)#- compulsive smiling#- havent hurt myself in 3 weeks#- tend to not care abt things anymore. or like i still care but in a different way. its not obsessive anymore#so it was literally all a chemical imbalance thing for me#milk struggle tweets

checked in for my flight tomorrow and i am hissing biting tearing @ the fact that they dont have a gate assigned for my flight yet
i know the general area since i know the airline im flying with but i DONT. LIKE. not being able to plan ahead.
#speculation nation#if they dont send me an email announcement i guess im gonna have to just look at the fancy tvs when i get there#i'll get back home someway or another. even if im grumpy about it#OH THO since i got so seriously anxious being in the isle seat for my flight here (bc being surrounded by that many people set off my#anxiety about being in crowds SO fucking badly)#i was legit considering forking over $31 just so i wouldnt have to experience that again (also bc i wanted to have a window seat to see#outside with better. bc i wanna take pics in the air this time)#BUT! it automatically assigned me a window seat. in the waaaay back unfortunately. but still a window seat#so i will hopefully not nearly have an anxious breakdown bc of being surrounded on all sides by people#no promises about my anxiety relative to general airport things! but at least i wont have to deal with the being surrounded.#plus! window seat! that'll be nice#i dont get claustrophobic in the sense of small spaces scaring me. i rather like hunkering down in a little corner.#i just dont wanna be absolutely surrounded by people like that again haha. ha..#gonna have to wake up way too early tomorrow to get to my flight in time. and then im gonna lose two hours :/#on top of the time on the plane. but it's ok fire emblem worked very well for making the plane ride pass quickly#so i imagine it'll be the same for this one. MAN plane ride is so much nicer on my nausea than car rides. love that for me

actually you know what that's exactly it i would rather someone add 5 parantheticals after every sentence than use tone indicators it's 1. accomplishing SO much more in terms of clarity 2. extremely funny to look at depending on how they're used
#yeees!!!#i still use tone indicators sometimes but I've started writing it in full#i really only using /joking and /lighthearted since even tho I know my friend's humor enough to know they're joking#I get SUPER parnoid when I do it back#plus I always just ask if I wasn't sure it was a joke or if it's irl people will tell me if I make the face™️#but yah#trying to transition more to the parathesis#I'm pretty sure I understand social cues well enough to not be autistic but I struggle more than a typical allistic#particularly witj sarcasm tho I've gotten WAY better at understanding it and I even use it myself!#so I remember beinh pretty excited when I learned about it#also fun fact! using (joke) or clarifying with parathesis can also alleviate some of the anxieties of being missunderstood of text#Youtube

Have been in such a depressive spiral for more than a week now it felt like a light went off in me smh, yesterday I started to actually feel a little less bad and now I'm SO SICK, can't REMEMBER the last time I was this sick!!!
