Cherenkov radiation (sometimes Čerenkov or Cerenkov radiation) is electromagnetic radiation emitted when a charged particle (such as an electron) passes through a dielectric medium (such as distilled water) at a speed greater than the phase velocity (speed of propagation of a wavefront in a medium) of light in that medium. A classic example of Cherenkov radiation is the characteristic blue glow of an underwater nuclear reactor. Its cause is similar to the cause of a sonic boom, the sharp sound heard when faster-than-sound movement occurs. The phenomenon is named after Soviet physicist Pavel Cherenkov.

Feynman: When we were talking about the atoms, one of the troubles that people have with the atoms is that they're so tiny, and it's so hard to imagine the scale.
The size of the atoms are in size - compared to an apple, it's the same scale as an apple is to the size of the Earth. And that's a kind of a hard thing to take, and you have to go through all these things all the time, and people find these numbers inconceivable. And I do too.
The only thing you do is you just change your scale. I mean, you're just thinking of small balls, but you don't try to think of exactly how small they are too often! Or you'd get kind of a bit nutty, alright?
But in astronomy, you have the same thing in reverse because the distances to these stars is so enormous, you see. You know that light goes so fast that it only takes a few seconds to go to the moon and back, or it goes around the Earth seven-and-a-half times in a second. And goes for a year, two years, three years before it gets to the nearest other star that there is to us.
But all of our stars are... the stars that are nearby in a great galaxy, a big mass of stars, which is called a galaxy, a group, well this, our galaxy is... what is it? Something like a hundred thousand light years, a hundred thousand years.
And then there's another patch of stars. It takes a million years for the light to get here, going at this enormous rate.
And you just go crazy trying to make too "real" that distance, you have to do everything in proportion. It's easy - you say the galaxies are little patches of stars and they're ten times as far apart as they are big.
So that's an easy picture, you know - he gets it. But you just go to a different scale, that's easier. You know, once in a while you try to come back to... Earth scale to discuss the galaxies but it's kind of hard.
The number of stars that we see at night is about - only about 5,000. But the number of stars in our galaxy, the telescopes have shown when you improve the instrument... Oh! We look at a galaxy. We look at the stars. All the light that we see, the little tiny and influent spreads from the star over this enormous distance of what? Three light years, for the nearest star. On, on, on! This light from the stars spreading, the wavefronts are getting wider and wider, weaker and weaker, weaker and weaker out into all of space, and finally the tiny fraction of it comes in one square, eighth of an inch, tiny little black hole and does something to me, so I know it's there.
Well, to know a little bit more about it, I'd rather gather a little more of this little, this tiny fraction of this front of light, and so I make a big telescope, which is a kind of funnel that the light that comes over this big area - 200 inches across - is very carefully organised, so it's all concentrated back so it can go through a... pupil. Actually, it's better to photograph it, or nowadays they use photo cells, they're a better instrument.
But anyway, the idea of the telescope is to focus the light from a bigger area into a smaller area so that we can see things that are weaker, less light, and in that way we find there's a very large number of stars in the galaxy.
There's so many that if you tried to name them, one a second, naming all the stars in our galaxy, I don't mean all the stars in the universe, just this galaxy here, it takes 3,000 years.
And yet, that's not a very big number. Because if those stars were to drop one dollar bill on the Earth during a year, each star dropping one dollar bill, they might take care of the deficit which is suggested for the budget of the United States.
So you see what kind of numbers we have to deal with!

Scientists uncover light absorbing properties of achiral materials
Researchers at the University of Ottawa have made a discovery that changes what we know about light and materials. They found that engineered achiral (symmetric) materials, called achiral plasmonic metasurfaces, can absorb light differently depending on the handedness of the wavefront of light. This was surprising because, for years, such materials were found to be indifferent to any optical probes and do not show such selective absorption. The research, conducted over the past year at uOttawa's Advanced Research Complex (ARC), was led by Ravi Bhardwaj, Professor, Department of Physics at the University of Ottawa and Ph.D. student Ashish Jain. Collaborators include Howard Northfield, Research Engineer, and colleagues Ebrahim Karimi, Canada Research Chair in Structured Light and Associate Professor of Physics, and Pierre Berini, University Research Chair in Surface Plasmon Photonics and Professor of Electrical Engineering.

My sibling asked me a question about 4D physics, and I thought you might be good to come to with it! "If you were to shout out into a four dimensional space, would the echoes be noticeably different from what you'd expect in a three dimensional space? How might some models differ in regards to echoes?" I really struggled to give any sort of answer, but I really do want to try to understand and be able to explain it to them if I can!
I'm not totally sure, to be honest. Although one thing to note... Sound energy in 3-space dissipates as the inverse square of distance (because it's based on the surface area of the wavefront... There's four times as much surface area of the spherical wave when you're twice as far away.)
On the other hand, in 4-space sound energy would dissipate with the inverse cube of distance, i.e. a LOT faster. So echoes would be a lot more rare. Sound in general just wouldn't be as useful as it is in our world, because there's so much space to get lost in.

N3r0 - Project Shinzon
[Non-Canon AU idea]
The Romulan infiltration unit set up Project Shinzon (named after an ancient Romulan God of Deception) - an attempt to replace the entire Starfleet command structure with clones.
Amongst them was unit N3R0
Each clone was "flash" grown - accelerated with the risk of premature ageing.
All clones were programmed with a fanatical loyalty to the Romulan people, advanced tactics & subterfuge, personal information, and their target brain patterns (obtained surreptitiously)
The first batch included many Admirals and fleet Captains. However the initial programming proved to be unstable.
Certain admirals made terrible decisions that immediately ended their careers. Fortunately no one discovered they were clones.
The next batches had far better programming.
So called "Mad Admirals" were a waste of the program - it was a miracle their cover had not been blown.
Although the later batches proved faultless, the highest levels of the Romulan State gave its order - Project Shinzon and all the clones must be liquidated
All project records, facilities, personnel and clones were all destroyed. Nothing escaped the purge...
Except for clone N3R0, the latest and most advanced of all the clones. Following his escape, and a little plastic surgery, he blended into the population and vanished.
Now going by the name "Nero" (a name from one of the smaller equatorial continents), he became a rising star in first local than national politics. His debating and diplomacy skills were second to none. Those opponents he could not win over, were taken out with "natural causes".
Soon Nero had ascended to the highest office of all - Praetor. His enemies defeated, his future secured.
But clones cannot last forever and a significant amount of material and fluids from his originator was needed to extend his life. Picard must be lured to Romulus.
After the Cardassian Incident, Starfleet was much more wary of sending Picard on missions beyond the Enterprise.
So a scenario must be created for Picard and the Enterprise to come to Romulus. Entry to the Federation.
For this to be feasible, Romulus had to change. The people's dissatisfaction with the old guard's handling of the Dominion had allowed Nero to remove them all and replace them with younger idealistic senators.
A great many reforms made the Empire more palatable to the Federation
Even the underground Logic movement was welcomed into the light - there would be no more persecutions under the benevolent Nero.
The Tal Shiar was seemingly disbanded for "a government should not fear its own people", but they were instead secretly redeployed to a hidden fleet.
Senators were sent to the federation to begin the talks.
With the subterfuge in place, Picard was chosen as the envoy - the only Starfleet officer and diplomat with any real experience of Romulus itself.
The Enterprise D ( newly refitted after Veridian III ) was dispatched.
The trap was sprung, but failed to ensnare Picard for he had allies on Romulus - Spock and his Logicians
Nero was exposed as a clone - a most heinous of things to the Romulan people and fled aboard his flagship. Oddly his anger was focused only on Spock, not Picard his double.
Years later when Spock tried to save Romulus from the warp accelerated supernova, Nero returned.
He blamed Spock for tipping the balance in favour of his equal Picard, and sought to destroy Spock's ship.
Nero did not know of Spock's mission, and so Romulus was destroyed.
Fortunately all the Romulans had evacuated, as the government founded by Nero was more than willing to listen to Spock's warnings. Also as members of the Federation, all Federation worlds sent ships to assist.
Nero’s mind snapped into pure rage at the loss of Romulus - his preprogrammed love of the world was at the very core of his being.
Spock's Red Matter device created a spatial rift that consumed the energy of the supernova wavefront, and saved the other worlds of the Romulan Free State.
Nero's pursuit of Spock would drive them both into the Rift.
The USS Kelvin, commanded by Commodore George Kirk, encounters a spatial rift from which emerges a massive ship with spike blades extended.
The old ship is no match for the 24th Century powerhouse.
Nero vows that just as the twin worlds of Romulus have been destroyed, so too will the twin worlds of Spock - Vulcan and Earth.
Now the Enterprise, captained by Christopher Pike must engage this foe from the future.

Tutorial 3D model to sims2
(first part )
Now that I'm learning how to convert Sims2 clothes from 3D models, I'm going to write how I do it in case anyone is interested.
First of all you should know that this is my way of doing it, I don't know if it is the most correct, if someone knows other things they can contribute them here 🤗
You must keep in mind that you have to be very patient, not everything turns out well the first time, nothing happens, you try as many times as you want until you get the result that you like the most. 😉
It is just a game, it is not real life nor is it a job nor is it an obligation, therefore you should not get frustrated, just have fun ☺️
We start 🕞
You will need :
-- a page to download free 3D models, there are many, you just have to search on Google or your usual search engine.
-- blender and milkshape
-- simpe
-- adobe photoshop or similar
-- bodyshop
We download a 3D model that we like, and we put it in a work folder that we are going to use 📂
Preferably we are interested in OBJ files, but the 3D models are not always in this format, if they are in DAE they are also useful for us
If you don't know what format you downloaded your 3D model in, right click, properties on the file and it will tell you what type of file it is.
If your file type is OBJ, you will go directly to the Milkshape phase, which I will explain later, if your file type is DAE... follow these steps:
open Blender
click on any point to remove that screen
You will get a white cube that we have to eliminate
now we can start
We import our 3D model with DAE format
We look for our file in the folder where we have saved it, when we have found it we click on import (up to the right)
We zoom in on our model by clicking the mouse wheel to increase its size and see it well if you want.
and we export it as an OBJ file, which is what we really need, you don't have to do anything, blender transforms it, you just click on file export wavefront obj
Choose which folder you want to save it in and give it a name, then click export OBJ (top right)
Close Blender, it is not necessary to save the changes when it asks you, so exit without saving if you want
Open Milkshape :
(If your file was OBJ from the beginning, you skip the entire Blender process and start here directly)
we import our 3D model obj file
Normally it sells completely black, I explain how I change it, I eliminate the material that is assigned,
I select my clothes, (group, select)
and I hit vertex, cat's normal smoother… and now we have it white
Now comes the most entertaining part, for this you will need your patience, normally the 3D model will not have the right size for the Sims 2 body, so you will have to modify it to adjust it
First, import a base body, of the age you want (adult child, etc.), the one you need according to the clothes you are making.
file, import ,sims2 unimesh import v4.09 , say acept, say noi
you choose your base body and say no
and say yes
now you have the sims 2 body and you can see the size difference in my case 😅
It's time to have fun, we select our clothes, (group select), and change their size until we find the one we want, (model scale)
We must change the numbers of X Y Z,
If we write 1.98 in X, 1.98 in Y, 1.98 in Z, we point to U and click on scale (the scale button below where the letters x y z ) our clothes will grow
If we write 0.98 in the three x y z, doing the same, our clothes will shrink

Love a Net Zero Info post but in fact you can see some oceans meet even if the photos supplied in that post were of something else.
This:
is the interface between Skagerrak* and Kattegat** where they meet north of Skagen, Jutland.
The picture does not quite do justice to reality - when you're there in person, the wavefront where the two waters meet is more obvious (Or - can be. I'm sure there are still days, but I've been there in person and it was more visible to me that there were two waters meeting)
*The eastern-most part of the North Sea ** Western-most part of the Baltic Sea
