Since I’ve gotten a few questions about my original books and where to find them, I figured I should do an introduction/master post, because I’ve a whole heap of things I do.

I’m a polymath, a pain in the ass, a massive pain

If you’ve enjoyed my Solavellan meta and want to support me, I would be honoured. I’ve just been totally cleaned out by a gruelling and traumatic immigration process (that is ongoing), and honestly *any* support is an enormous help in getting back on my feet so my life in my home can…finally begin.

I’m a fantasy author of over 25 novels across several subgenres, but all of my books have a romantic element or are romances. I’m also an award-winning Gaelic singer and songwriter who has represented Scotland internationally twice and been invited to perform for our parliament’s 25th anniversary celebration.

I’ve been at this a long time, and I keep kind of getting knocked backwards onto my arse and am pretty exhausted! Here’s my erm…life’s work below the jump!

Before he was summoned, Phantom had never seen a water ghoul.

Fish, yes.

But a ghoul with gills, small fins and scales? No.

And when Rain's bluish gills occasionally fluttered slightly, Phantom would love nothing more than to nibble on them.

One time, Rain was so distracted while playing a video game that he didn't notice Phantom sneaking into his room. And when Rain's demon tail started to whip back and forth excitedly while he was concentrating and the little fish tassels twitched, Phantom couldn't control himself and pounced on it. Weeks later, Phantom still dreamed of the full-bodied, strong taste of the fin on his tongue, mixed with Rain's warm and salty blood.

No wonder, then, that the water ghoul hissed at him whenever Phantom approached him in the days following the incident.

By now, Phantom had realized that he couldn't just bite Rain, even if he wanted to. And Rain allowed him to snuggle up to him in return. Sometimes Phantom was even allowed to lick his light blue skin. Phantom loved these moments when all the ghouls watched a film together and he lay snuggled up to Rain under a blanket and could run his tongue over Rain's neck, gills and small, shiny scales. He noticed how Rain's body tensed up every time, expecting the younger ghoul to snap because it was no longer enough for him to lick the salty sea water off Rain's skin and inhale his smell of petrichor. But Phantom held back.

Most of the time. Because sometimes it just happened that a fang dug a little harder into his skin, which caused Rain to smack Phantom away like an annoying mosquito.

But one innocent look from Phantom's violet eyes was enough and Rain let the other ghoul snuggle up to him again and bury his face in the waterghoul's neck.

Quintessence ghouls were forced to cannibalize the former in order to gain their magic, it was the only way it would work. You'd have to consume the older one whether you liked it or not, the magic turning process hurts and it takes up to hours to complete, but this was the only way.

Water ghouls who were either drowned or water boarded with unholy water, they needed their lungs to be coated in it before they could turn, it was agonizing pain and it wouldn't go away for days.

Earth ghouls who were buried alive in order to connect to their element, they would be tied up so they couldn't claw their way back to the surface. Only after they turned would they be dug back up, shaking and confused with no memory of what happened.

Air ghouls who had their breath ripped away by being smothered or choked, they would thrash and fight but they wouldn't let up until the change was over. Some even have trouble breathing to this day because of it.

Multi ghouls who would go through a mix of every process until the church was satisfied with the results, some even going through multiple rounds of one method in order to have a dominant element.

Fire ghouls who were burned alive in order for their skin to become tough and resistant to the heat, they wouldn't stop until they were charred all over their body but only then would they be forced into an ice bath and scrubbed down to remove the coal and soot off their body.
