Ensuring Road Safety: The Importance of Road Marking Paint Services in the UAE
Marking Paint Services in the UAE
The United Arab Emirates boasts a vast network of modern highways and bustling city streets. But these arteries of transportation wouldnât function smoothly without a crucial element â road marking paint services in UAE. These specialized services ensure clear and visible road markings, playing a vital role in maintaining road safety and traffic management.
The Language of the Road: Understanding Road Markings
Road markings are more than just paint on asphalt. Theyâre a visual language that guides drivers, improves traffic flow, and ultimately reduces accidents. There are three main categories of road markings:
Regulatory Markings:Â These markings, like stop lines, crosswalks, and no-passing zones, dictate driver behavior and enforce traffic rules.
Warning Markings:Â These markings, like chevrons and rumble strips, alert drivers to potential hazards and upcoming changes in road conditions.
Guiding Markings:Â These markings, like lane lines and directional arrows, help drivers navigate intersections, changes in lane configuration, and proper positioning on the road.
Beyond Black and White: The Materials of Road Marking
Road marking paint services in UAEÂ employ different types of paint based on specific needs and environments. Hereâs a breakdown of the most common ones:
MMA Cold Plastic Paint: This solvent-based paint offers excellent durability, adhesion, and rapid drying times, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. Itâs a popular choice for MMA cold plastic paint manufacturers in UAE.
Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint: This heated paint melts onto the asphalt surface, creating a highly durable and reflective marking. This is a specialty of thermoplastic road marking paint manufacturers in UAE.
Waterborne Road Marking Paint: This eco-friendly option is gaining traction due to its lower VOC emissions. However, its durability might not be suitable for heavy-traffic roads. Look for these from waterborne road marking paint manufacturers in UAE.
Fluorescent Road Marking Paint: These paints enhance visibility, especially in low-light conditions. They might be a niche offering from some flourocent road marking paint manufacturers in UAE.
The Next Level: Innovations in Reflective and Thermoplastic Paints
The world of road marking paint is constantly evolving. Road marking contractors in UAE are now utilizing:
High-performance reflective materials:Â These materials improve nighttime visibility, making it easier for drivers to see markings during dusk and dawn.
Thermoplastic paints with extended lifespans:Â Advancements in technology have led to thermoplastic paints that last longer, reducing the frequency of repainting and road closures.
The Role of Road Marking Paint Services in UAE
Road marking companies in UAEÂ play a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient transportation network. Hereâs how:
Improved Visibility:Â Clear and well-maintained markings ensure drivers can navigate roads safely, particularly during poor weather or nighttime conditions.
Enhanced Traffic Flow:Â Defined lanes and directional markings guide drivers and prevent confusion, leading to smoother traffic flow and reduced congestion.
Accident Prevention:Â Proper markings highlight potential dangers and enforce traffic rules, ultimately reducing the risk of accidents.
Compliance with Regulations:Â Road marking services ensure roads meet all UAE traffic regulations, promoting road safety for all users.

Hiiđhow are you?
Usually there's only joel miller x child!reader on tumblr when it comes to non-romantic fics, so I was thinking of something with tommy (I already liked his character in the games but now that he's gabriel luna I love him more than ever), and I came with a request on my mind: Can you write something where Tommy has toddler daughter reader before outbreak and how it would've been the outbreak morning and night on the first episode if tommy had a kid himself, a baby depending on him?
Ooh, i really like that one. And i hope you like too ~ âĄ
(btw i'm also taking requests for the last of us now!)
When the Sky Fell Quiet .・*シďžďž
Summary: Tommy Miller wasnât supposed to be a single dad. But one mistake and a miracle later, he had a daughter. You. And nothing else in the world mattered. On September 26th, 2003, everything changes. But he still has one job: keep you safe. No matter what it takes.
tommy miller & daughter!reader
WARNINGS: Angst, panic and chaos, parent/child trauma, minor language, character death, bittersweet ending.
Morning â September 26, 2003
The morning started like most others.
You woke up in your tiny toddler bedâan old crib frame with the bars removed and cartoon sheets from a garage sale. You were rubbing your eyes, thumb stuck in your mouth, curls wild and messy.
Tommy was already in the kitchen, pouring burnt coffee into a mug that said #1 Dad, a Fatherâs Day gift you didnât even remember giving him (you were still learning how to talk, after all). He was in his usual half-buttoned flannel and jeans with drywall dust on the knees.
âBout time you woke up, sunshine,â he called softly as you padded down the hall in fuzzy socks.
You grunted.
He laughed. âThatâs my girl.â
He picked you up and kissed your cheek, tickling your side until you squealed and kicked.
âDonât tickle Daddy,â you warned with mock seriousness.
âOh, is that so?â he teased. âWho makes the rules in this house?â
You leaned in close, finger to your lips. âShh. Me.â
Tommy barked a laugh and kissed your forehead again. âHell, I believe it.â
He dropped you off at the little daycare by the fire stationâone of those rundown places where the toys were cracked and the paint peeled, but the teachers loved the kids like their own.
You didnât cry when he left anymore. Not since last spring.
He looked back twice from his truck just to make sure you werenât upset.
You werenât.
You were waving.
And smiling.
Around 3:00 p.m., the sirens started.
At first, Tommy ignored them. Helicopters flying low over the suburbs, firetrucks screaming in all directions. One of the guys on site said something about the newsâriots, maybe? People going crazy?
By 5:00 p.m., Tommy was already on edge.
He tried calling Joel. No answer.
Tried calling the daycare. Busy.
By 5:30, he broke every speed law in Austin trying to reach you.
When he burst through the front door of the daycare, the place was in chaos.
Children crying. Staff on their phones. A teacher holding the door shut while pounding echoed from the other side.
He saw you sitting on the floor, little backpack clutched to your chest like a lifeline.
Your eyes were wide, your cheeks flushed.
âDaddy!â you cried.
He ran to you, scooped you up in his arms, and didnât let go.
âI got you, baby girl,â he whispered against your hair. âI got you.â
Back home, things were worse.
News reports said the virus was spreading. Airborne, waterborneâthey didnât know. Tommy shut every window, every vent. He grabbed the emergency bag Joel made for him after the Y2K scare. Loaded the pistol he hadnât touched in two years.
He held you the whole time.
You werenât asking questionsâyou didnât need to. You knew something was wrong. You didnât want your juice or your bedtime book. You just held his shirt and didnât let go.
When night fell, the neighborhood lit up with fire and screams.
Joel called. Finally.
âGet ready to run,â he said. âIâm coming.â
When you arrived at your uncle's house, everything seemed to be happening too quickly.
Sarah cried when she saw you. She hugged you tight. You used to call her "Sasa" when you could barely speak.
You sat in the middle seat of the truck, clinging to Sarah's hand while your dad drove and she asked what was happening.
Neither of them had answers.
Helicopters crashed in the distance. Streets were blocked. People ran in the dark. Fires rose behind them.
Tommy wouldnât let you go.
You didnât understand it.
But you knew something was breaking.
Tommy ran, carrying you the whole time, trying to get to his brother and niece.
When the soldier pointed the gun, when Joel screamed for him to stop, when Sarah hit the groundâ
You screamed too.
He couldnât feel his legs. His throat was raw from yelling.
But you were warm and alive in his arms, and that was all that mattered.
Joel held Sarahâs body.
Tommy sat by the ditch, cradling you. You were shaking. He held your head to his chest and rocked you gently, even as the world around you burned.
You didnât sleep.
He didnât either.
Your hands clutched the collar of his shirt like you were afraid heâd disappear.
âI got you, baby girl,â he whispered again and again, like a prayer. âDaddyâs here. I got you.â
And even when the world ended, you believed him.
Because his arms never let go.

đĽPunisher: Last Gun on Earth?
This ask is referring to the fairly-obscure 2010 zombie apocalypse Elseworld Marvel Universe Vs The Punisher by Jonathan Maberry, as well as the two prequels following Wolverine and Hawkeye at different points in the same timeline. I've been meaning to do a more comprehensive write-up on this for quite some time, as it was a series distinct from but very visibly in conversation with Marvel Zombies, which Maberry was also peripherally involved with. The elevator pitch is that a fuckup by the Punisher during a hit on the Russian Mob results in a cold war bioweapon getting into the biosphere, eventually turning almost the entire human population, and most of the superheroes, into adrenaline-fueled 28-days-later style rage zombies. Content Warning under the cut for discussions of racism
Despite its many, many flaws, there was a lot I enjoyed about this series, and alongside Marvel Zombies it had a not-insubstantial impact on my own aesthetic sensibilities, which I think probably comes through in a lot of my zombie artwork. The first mini, Marvel Universe Vs The Punisher, is a pastiche of I am Legend, with Frank Castle in the role of Robert Neville, an infected Deadpool in the role of Neville's abnormally sentient neighbor Ben Cortman, and with a zombified Spider-Man the white whale that he's spent five years hunting through the remains of Manhattan. Before I get into the rancid shit, I'm going to talk about what I enjoyed:
While the series succumbs to all-too-common Punisher Wank in terms of his efficacy in taking down a number of the A-list infected heroes, it ultimately comes out the other side as a pretty competent piece of character work for Frank; the series is grimly aware that a virus turning most of the human population into a shooting gallery of sadistic cannibal maniacs would be something like Valhalla for Frank, regardless of his pretensions to the contrary. Moreover, it's subtly implied that Frank's belief that he's immune is incorrect, and what's actually happening is that a virus that turns you into a vindictive, dogmatic maniac with a hardwired us-or-them mindset had no effect on him because he was already like that. There are ultimately revealed to be thousands of other survivors in New York, all of whom have spent five years studiously avoiding him because they think he's batshit insane. Even zombie Spider-Man, played up as the Biggest Bad, is ultimately revealed to have retained enough humanity to protect his uninfected family the entire time, whereas Frank is ultimately painted as unrelenting genocide machine whose psychological inability to give quarter ultimately makes him worse than the infected.
From there the series extrapolated some hilarious commentary on the genre as a whole; the zombie outbreak was going on for months before reaching critical mass, and nobody noticed because the baseline levels of random street violence and superpowered brawls are already so high in these settings that nobody realized a lot of the fights were occurring for rage-virus reasons until Spider-Man killed and ate a supervillain on live television. The whole series can be viewed through the lens of the usual spectacle-bait crisis-crossover contrived-battle-between-heroes routine, distilled to its purest form and escalated to the point of RagnarĂśk; the art frequently deliberately obfuscates which combatants are infected and which are uninfected people fighting for their lives. In this way it's playing with the pre-existing logic of the superhero genre in a way that Marvel Zombies didn't.
Maberry knows how to use Deadpool in a supporting character role without having him eat the entire goddamn thing. It's a fun dynamic!
Unlike Marvel Zombies, which was deliberately unconcerned with logistics as part of the gonzo fever-dream aesthetic, Maberry put some actual thought into a semi-plausible model by which a zombie virus could overrun a superhero setting. The responsible mutagen is air-and-waterborne, causing people to start turning at random months after being infected rather than through bites or fluid contact, and sneaks around healing factors because the mutations it causes are parsed as improvements rather than disease symptoms. Mass swarms of infected, unpowered civilians are as relevant, if not more relevant, than the superhumans are in spreading the infection, leading in turn to a lot of Left 4 dead styled set piece co-op fights like the one depicted above, and leading to the failure state that a superhero might be able to mince human wave attacks all day but at a certain point they'll have chewed through everyone they were ostensibly protecting by doing so, even if they themselves survive. This is a dynamic that, ultimately, only Frank Castle is really capable of thriving within, because with him it was never about protecting people, just hurting "bad" ones.
Which leads to another major positive points- the series is also a lot more concerned with rendering the setting's downward spiral. Eight prequel issues depicting the superhero community going down fighting over the course of months, rather than folding like a dixie cup in a trash compactor for horror value. Dead Days is the closest that Marvel Zombies ever got to rendering that same process, and while that was a very good oneshot it was still a deliberately compact one-shot. Here you get tableau after tableau of survivors throwing down with zombies. Unlikely alliances, second-string deep-cut z-listers crawling out of the woodwork- all interspersed with the growing realization among the protagonists that this is not business as usual, the status quo is not going to hold this time, it's just the actual apocalypse.
Here's Punisher, Hawkeye, Iron Fist and Black Cat trying to hold the Holland tunnel. Here's Dr. Bong, Howard the Duck Ruby Tuesday and Hit Monkey making a last stand in Central Park. This shit unironically kicks ass! This is what I think a lot of people are gesturing at when they say that they want to see a superheroes vs zombies story.
And, on that note, if you're going to tell this kind of story, Punisher, Wolverine and Hawkeye are objectively three of the best characters to have as the viewpoint characters- precisely the right level of competence and street-level scrappiness to survive without having a prayer of turning the tables outright. "Shit, Man, this superhero war is fucked-" the comic.
One additional minor thing I enjoyed about the series, aesthetically, is that while Marvel Zombies was a deliberately anachronistic mish-mash where every character was depicted in their most visually iconic outfits from across decades of publication, This series was very specifically working with the Marvel Universe status quo circa 2010 when it was published- The X-Men in San Francisco, Red Hulk on the Avengers, now-long-forgotten Avengers Academy kids in crowd shots. It grounds the narrative in a way Marvel Zombies was deliberately avoiding, acting as a snapshot and a time capsule in a neat way.
Now onto the two big things I didn't like about this series, the latter of which sinks it really really badly:
One: Caption Cancer. Maberry is one of those authors who I like on balance but who also often lapses into Talking Just To Talk. How many times does the navel-gazey running commentary in the above excerpts double back on itself, and how much is it actually saying- particularly when contrasted with the story told by the art and dialogue alone? Either he felt a need to fill the space (bad) or worse, he thought that these were some kind of deep and compelling rumination on the human condition. In general the balance of exposition to action in this thing were.... all over the place, not always integrated gracefully. The best sequences in the book are the ones where the captions just shut the fuck up so we can watch these people clobber each other. This is not a problem the original Marvel Zombies had- one thing I like about Kirkman is that he's usually a caption minimalist, letting the art and the dialogue do the heavy lifting. You don't get a page as quiet and decompressed as the following in the entire 12 issue run of Marvel Universe Vs.
Two: It's Racist. Like, really really racist. The comic continuously lapses into extremely racist imagery with the infected, using the visual language of "primitive savage tribes" with seemingly zero awareness of the real-life groups that those tropes were used to propagandize against and dehumanize. It's one thing to have zombies that take human body parts as trophies- that's kind of a cool motif- it's quite another to have a zombified Hulk who braids his hair in an obvious caricature of Native Americans, complete with feathers. What the fuck, Maberry!
Moreover it's a comically unforced error- everything compelling happens outside of that imagery, it's adding basically nothing but an attack surface to the premise. 28 days later did this basic premise without the racism, Left 4 Dead did this basic premise without the racism, The Crazies did this basic premise without the racism, Fucking Crossed did this basic premise without using the same racist visual language, at least until after Ennis left the book. Congratulations- you found a way to make the zombies more on-the-face racially insensitive than Garth Ennis. Round of Applause, everyone. This specific issue is why I don't think I've ever brought this book up in depth unprompted, it's genuinely really gross.
Anyway, those are my unified thoughts on the Marvel Universe Vs. trilogy, hope you enjoyed.

I know you havea harbinger one of food contamination, but would one working for Apollyon who poisons wells, lives or works in sewers and spreads water borne diseases work as a good counterpart? Cholera was a major killer in the western world before water purification and still is in areas without sufficient access to it. Dysentery was lethal before modern medicine too.
Perhaps make them a sewer rat, cholera and diseases like it were spread through sewage in the drinking water.
------
Waterborne disease is an untouched niche, strangely enough. There are two Harbingers which deal in poisoned water, Roqorolos and Tresmalvos, the latter of which is even associated with rats! But neither of them deal exclusively in waterborne illness or befouled water; one of Rogo's areas of concern is "fouled water" and his Obedience involves drinking tainted water, but he seems more concerned with shipwrecks and castaways forced to drink seawater to survive.
Tresmalvos is the closest to what you're aiming for, but her updated lore in Divine Mysteries paints the picture of someone who hates living in the sewers and wants to drag people down into them so she can stand atop their drowning bodies and pretend, for a moment, that she's anywhere else. Not exactly a demigoddess of tainted waters.

2, 7, 23, and 34 for Theta
(Or all of them, but that both feels like too much and some of them are pretty obvious)
2. what sort of music would they like? have you thought about what genres or bands do they lean towards? do they have a favorite song?
He listens to pretty much anything that he can stick on as background noise without distracting him from working. But if he's in the mood for moping Howl's Moving Castle style, then it would be to 'Hab' Mir's Gelobt' (aka the final trio) from Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss. It's the culmination of a love triangle.
If I had to associate a song with him in terms of what reminds me of him, it would be Count Grassi's Passage Over Piedmont by The Divine Comedy. I'd love to write a one shot of him based on this song, as I could imagine him feeling truly free in a hot air balloon and happily tossing the picnic basket over the side to gain more height. 'If I were to die, then let it be in summertime, in a manner of my own choosing...'
7. favourite animal? Why?
The way I unhesitatingly said 'frog spawn'. The whole life cycle of a frog is the closest he can get to watching cells divide in real time, as well as them being an evolutionary microcosm. He loves to watch tiny gelatinous blobs turn into wriggly waterborne life forms, who then eventually sprout legs and flee to land. And freedom.
23. how would you describe their voice? can they sing?
Average singing voice. Neither particularly sweet nor tone deaf. I kind of imagine his speaking voice to be reminiscent of a young Jude Law. Not quite as well-spoken as his Bosie Douglas but not quite as Londoner as his Gigolo Joe.
34. how would your character describe themselves? it doesn't have to line up with how they really are
Indolent renaissance man.
A few bonus ones (I've tried to pick the least obvious ones though some of the questions made me a little sad for him like how did he spend childhood summers and will he ever go home)
are they associated with a certain color? what color do they wear the most?
Dark navy-teal blue, the kind reminiscent of old Swedish palaces. Basically this colour. He often wears his signature velvet frock coat in this colour, highlighted with embroidery in silver thread.
3. weapon of choice? any particular reason they chose their weapon?
Length of pipe, spanner, violin, wine bottle, monkey wrench, easel, welding torch...basically whatever he can get his hands on, since he doesn't customarily carry a weapon. He is skilled with a rapier, but that's just for fun. He generally doesn't enjoy fighting.
12. how long have they been around? do you know their birthday? is their birthday the day you made them or another day? what do they think of celebrating birthdays?
Officially his first chapter was published on 23rd July. But for some reason I keep gravitating back to 25th May as his birthday. So it's that, I guess. Birthdays are bittersweet because it isn't really a birthday in the traditional or biological sense. He doesn't celebrate them, since he never expects anyone to remember them, plus they're slightly meaningless amidst the segments. Consequently he will feel quite touched if someone goes to the trouble of remembering. But he takes a quiet pleasure in the fact that it's his and not Dottore's.
22. do they sleep well at night?
He is very nocturnal, but not through insomnia, rather it's his most productive time of the day. It's easier to concentrate. But if he goes to sleep, he sleeps soundly for the most part.
30. do they smell like anything notable?
Citrus cologne masking either engine oil or linseed oil depending on whether he's been painting or engineering. And cigarettes.

Understanding the Role of Water Borne Fluorescent Road Marking Paint in Safer Highways
Road safety is a critical concern in the UAE, where highways experience high-speed traffic daily. Proper road markings are essential for guiding drivers, especially during challenging conditions such as poor lighting or harsh weather. Among the innovations in road marking technologies, water borne fluorescent road marking paint has emerged as a game-changer. Its eco-friendly properties and superior visibility under various conditions make it an indispensable solution for safer highways.
In this blog, we will explore the unique characteristics of water-borne fluorescent paints, their applications, and how they are transforming road safety in the UAE.
What is Water Borne Fluorescent Road Marking Paint?
Water-borne fluorescent paint is a type of road marking paint that uses water as a solvent instead of traditional solvents like acetone or toluene. It is designed to provide high visibility under different lighting conditions, particularly under ultraviolet light or in low-light environments.
Key Features
Eco-Friendly Composition:Â Water-based formulation minimizes harmful emissions.
High Visibility:Â Fluorescent pigments offer enhanced brightness, making markings visible from a distance.
Durability:Â Resistant to wear and tear from traffic and weather.
Quick Drying:Â Ensures minimal disruption during application.
Why is Water Borne Fluorescent Road Marking Paint Important?
The role of waterborne fluorescent road marking paint in road safety cannot be overstated. Here are some of the key reasons why it has become an essential component in highway infrastructure:
1. Enhanced Visibility
Fluorescent pigments in the paint reflect light effectively, ensuring markings remain visible during the day, at night, and even in adverse weather conditions.
This high visibility reduces the risk of accidents, particularly in high-speed zones.
2. Eco-Friendly Solution
Unlike traditional solvent-based paints, water-borne paints release fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), reducing their environmental impact.

âFive babies in incubatorâ: HRW on danger to pregnant women, babies in Gaza

Human Rights Watch finds Israel has violated the rights of pregnant women and girls, with no end in sight.

Israelâs 15-month war on Gaza, as well as severe restrictions it imposed on the flow of humanitarian aid and Israeli forcesâ attacks on health facilities and targeting of healthcare workers, have led to âlife-threatening dangerâ for pregnant women and babies, Human Rights Watch (HRW) has said in a new report.
Despite the ongoing ceasefire, the precarious conditions under which women in Gaza are giving birth are unlikely to improve, the group noted in the report published on Tuesday, as Israeli legislation targeting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and taking effect this week is expected to severely limit the delivery of humanitarian relief to the devastated territory.
The group found that women in Gaza have been rushed out of overcrowded hospitals, sometimes within hours of giving birth, in order to make room for war casualties. Newborn care has also been severely impacted, with one doctor at al-Helal al-Emirati Maternity Hospital in Rafah saying that the facility had so few incubators and so many preterm babies that doctors there were forced to put âfour or five babies in one incubatorâ.
âMost of them donât survive,â the doctor added.
Several babies have died from the lack of shelter amid freezing temperatures.
In the 56-page report, HRW concluded that Israel â as the occupying power in Gaza â has violated the rights of pregnant women and girls, including the right to dignified care in pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, as well as the right to newborn care.
The group also stressed that two pieces of legislation passed by the Israeli Knesset last year and taking effect on Tuesday threaten to âfurther exacerbate the harm to maternal and newborn healthâ. The bills, which bar UNRWA from operating in Israel and occupied East Jerusalem and the Israeli government from contact with the agency, effectively make it impossible for UNRWA to get permits for its staff and to deliver much-needed aid to Gaza.
Belkis Wille, HRWâs associate crisis, conflict and arms director, told Al Jazeera that âdespite the fact that the ceasefire could provide an opportunity for the healthcare system in Gaza to begin to be restored, because of the laws coming into effect, banning the operations of UNRWA, the reality is that these coming weeks may lead to pregnant women and newborns suffering even more than they already haveâ.
âThe provisions of the ceasefire donât really address any of the significant needs that are outlined in the report,â Wille added.
According to the report, as of this month, emergency obstetric and newborn care is only available at seven out of 18 partially functioning hospitals across Gaza, four out of 11 field hospitals, and one community health centre.
All medical facilities operating in Gaza face âunsanitary and overcrowded conditionsâ and serious shortages of essential healthcare supplies, including medicine and vaccines. And medical workers, âhungry, overworked and at times under military attackâ, are scrambling to tend to victims of attacks while also addressing countless cases of waterborne and other communicable diseases, the report adds.
HRW conducted interviews with women who were pregnant while living in Gaza during the war, medical workers from Gaza, and international medical staff working with international humanitarian organisations and agencies operating teams in Gaza.
The interviews paint a horrific picture of the warâs impact on access to basic care during pregnancy and birth.
Little information is available on the survival rate of newborns or the number of women experiencing serious complications or dying during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum, HRW notes. But the group points to testimony by maternity health experts who reported that the rate of miscarriage in Gaza had increased by up to 300 percent since war began on October 7, 2023. It also pointed to UN reports that at least eight infants and newborns have died from hypothermia due to lack of basic shelter.

Israelâs war has led to an unprecedented displacement of some 90 percent of Gazaâs residents, many of whom were displaced multiple times. That has made it impossible for pregnant women to safely access health services, the report found, noting that mothers and newborns have had almost no access to postnatal care.
Late last year, Human Rights Watch concluded in a different report that Israel was committing âacts of genocideâ by denying clean water to Palestinians in Gaza. It also found that Israelâs use of âstarvation as a method of warfareâ led to severe food insecurity.
Pregnant women have been particularly impacted by lack of access to food and water, with critical consequences for their own health and for fetal development. Many pregnant women have reported dehydration or being unable to wash themselves, the report added.
âIsraeli authoritiesâ blatant and repeated violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law in Gaza have had a particular and acute impact on pregnant women and girls and newborns,â Wille said. âThe ceasefire alone wonât end these horrific conditions. Governments should press Israel to urgently ensure that the needs of pregnant women and girls, newborns, and others requiring health care are met.â

Not to hijack a ventpost about landback further, but since people are likely to see it in this form with this addition on broader tumblr, there are water crises on reservations everywhere, because, to keep this short and sweet for tumblr, the government. People go to rez dispos to get the real strong shit because there's nothing else to do but go hunting, go to church, watch TV and consume substances, in many places, owing to many of them still not having Internet. Any country can decide, and the US has decided, that it it doesn't have a legal obligation to provide water, sanitation, or other services to reservations, which in practice means that they have to fund them themselves, while also managing farmers off the rez leaching agrichemicals into the water table.
So where do people get water? They truck it in, if they can't fund homemade water filtration systems for their communities. This is an issue close to my heart, because I also have water the government says smilingly is totally safe now and scalpers selling me bottled, and I'm not native myself but I have First Nations relatives in law I spent formative years in the homes of who are (it's a long story that begins with one young Cree man's decision that he should be Jewish). I remember what a process going and getting water was, despite Canada theoretically better protecting their human right to it, at least as of the 2013 safe drinking water act (which, incidentally, did not begin to affect my uncle's community until quite a bit later than that).
I remember not thinking anything of it at the time because I'm from a place in Ukraine that time forgot even before there was a war related water crisis there, too.
The people who seem to be raising the most awareness about this on the US internet are Navajo, but you can meet almost anyone from anywhere and statistically they'll often prefer to drink soda to water for reasons ultimately related to that. It's like how where I'm from, to cover the taste of boiled, probably still unsafe water, we would make tea. It's like how â this is a site full of Jews, you'd all get it â it's like how parts of frum Montreal had lead and goodness knows what else water that tasted like paint that those of us who were broke all filtered and drank when we felt too ashamed to put strain on the mutual aid societies, because the city doesn't care about what happens to little Hasidic children, and they only came to do not quite enough about it, as I recall, less than 7 years ago. And they were super rude, actually. I know because I answered the door.
And that kind of treatment does affect people, right, it does. I have a caffeine addiction I've had from the womb, which I can never quite kick because if I do my brain won't function correctly. I distinctly remember sippy cups being full not of water but of weak tea. Caffeine was literally formative to the construction of my brain. A lot of little native kids get the same addiction from sodas, which are terrible for you and cause obesity and heart disease, but at least they won't give you waterborne diseases while you're pregnant. At least they won't kill your children before they're even here.
And they're cheaper than water.
One of the best things you can do that will have a tangible impact on people, especially on children, women and the elderly, is to try to make it less onerous to get clean water to live. You can give water to tribal food banks, and affected communities will often have initiatives about this already, which you can specifically and directedly assist with. The Colorado River basin has the Water&Tribes initiative, for example.
If you don't know how to help and don't know what to trust to give to, it's always a moral good to try to help with water.
"*X country* should colonize the US! Please nuke the US!"
You all will do anything to not give us our land back huh
