hi.
#i know most of you didn’t even realize i was gone#but man…#my mental health was like in a state of 📉📉📉 in the past 30 days like we love being mentally ill and fucking insane <3#it was mostly bc i panicked and started obsessing over possible water damage in my flat kind of out of nowhere#like it started when my landlord came to check my bathroom bc my downstairs neighbours had water stains on their ceiling back in july#which had been caused by their shower curtain apparently but i was already spiraling when my landlord told me so i was sure it was my fault#i was assuming it was bc of me bc i had sometimes been spilling some of my bathwater and i was like WHAT IF IT HAS GONE THROUGH THE FLOOR?#and it didn't help that it has been hot af and very humid in my apartment LIKE WELL OVER 25 DEGREES AND 60% HUMIDITY#anyways i couldn’t shake this not matter what i tried and my fucking insane brain made me think i was going to get arrested for like#flooding the whole building or for causing some sort of mold infestation#i had SO MANY panic attacks; i wasn't able to sleep; i wasn't able to eat; i was on edge and panicky basically 24/7 so fun fun fun :D#and i kept waking up in the middle of the night and HAD to go check my walls or the space below my kitchen#it was compulsory like i couldn't not get up and go check and tbh i would've thrown out all of my furniture if i could've to check for mold#(and shhhh i know how fucking insane this sounds but having a mentally ill brain that's anxious all the time does suck ass sometimes 🥲)#(the worst thing about it tho was that i was SO AWARE of how insane about this i was being and yet i couldn't stop losing my mind over it)#(also i was so ready to move tf outta here bc i couldn't handle being triggered 24/7 which is why my mom let me stay with her last week )#i was so out of it that i couldn't even let myself do the things i usually enjoy... like at all#like watching my shows or spending any ungodly amount of time on tumblr... or replying to messages i got from people who i love#ig this goes to show HOW bad this actually was for me mentally bc usually tumblr and my shows are like my safe place#anyways we finally had a leak detection dude come over today and we had him check the water levels in my walls#and he said everything is fine and he specifically told me i should stop worrying about any water damage BC THERE IS NO WATER DAMAGE#he also said that the weather has just been insanely humid this year so it's not surprising that the humidity levels are higher than usual#i’m still a bit scared about some possible mold but ig this is good enough for now#i am aware how ridiculous this must sound for anyone who's reading this now but couldn't let it go not even with meds so let me live pls :(#TLDR I WAS GOING THROUGH IT BUT I AM BACK I THINK AND I AM MOST LIKELY GOING TO START BOTHERING YOU WITH MY GIFS AGAIN <3#AND I JUST REALIZED I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN ANY OF THE HEART KILLERS STUFF YET ASIDE FROM ONE OR TWO PICS LIKE :(#OH AND I NEED TO START WATCHING SUMMER NIGHT ;_;#sabrina talks#@AIRENYAH GIRL I AM SO SORRY I WILL PROBABLY REPLY TO YOUR MESSAGES LATER TODAY OR TOMORROW MORNING ;_;<3

About the Lights Out AU, wouldn't the building start crumbling due to weathering and stuff since there's no maintenance? Wouldn't the roof fall apart or like part of it at some point?
oh, yes. yes it would.
#since it's assumedly made of primarily concrete and metal#so it won't break down the way a house would#but that doesn't mean that areas aren't weakened or that there's parts of the building exposed to the elements#broken windows missing doors water damage animals/plants etc#in my mind the neighborhood set is on the ground floor and pretty deep in the building#very much sheltered from areas that would be affected the most by natural building decay / the elements#and wally never explores that far#whether bc he cant get certain doors open or it doesnt occur to him to try#rambles from the bog#wh lights out au#but the building is very much starting to rot around them#which doesn't start to come into play until the end of act one!!!#which! actually its funny that you mention the roof! the roof is important!#much emphasis on ceilings and roofs & how they come into play!#because they Do come into play.#but things even within the actual set do crumble a lil#wally has seen ceilings lights fall and smash things. false walls collapse due to water damage. small sinkholes open up sontworryaboutit-#things slooooooowly decay and wally watches it all happen#rust and chewed wires and mold and peeling wallpaper-#he watches the neighborhood rot & wastes away along with it

Alright so anyway today has been hell 💀
#we were flooded after the neighbour's pump broke and it was several hours of pure nightmare#as it was pissing cats and dogs with HOT water in our whole apartment save for one room#there was a waterfall coming down my chandelier#our new wallpapers are ruined and we'll have ro replace doors and fix ceilings#hoping that not too much damage has been done to the floors#also can't use electricity at all. except for that one room that was spared#so yeah. fun. oh and all the spiders came crawling out of their holes after the water calmed down 💀#vik.txt

Everyone is saying the builders are scamming them but have y’all ever lived in a new build? You move in when a couple small things are unfinished and then once they’re finished, something breaks and needs fixing. It just be like that

one day i dream of owning a second house that i will rent for an actually reasonable price (say $400 a month? $500 a month?) and, unbeknownst to the renter, when they leave and any damages/cleaning get taken care of, every dollar they paid in rent minus said cleaning/damages gets returned to them in a lump sum. i just keep doing this forever.
#dated a girl once whose dad rented out her childhood home#during the first year we dated the current tenant left and I helped fix holes in the walls and replaced the carpet#he found another tenant‚ very kind looking family‚ husband and wife with one kid‚ very polite‚ seemed very put together#by the end of me dating her that tenant caused her dad so much hell#big unexplained hole in the ceiling‚ three dogs he didn't approve of but they seemed mild mannered every time he visited so—#—he fussed about it the first time and let it go after; when the tenant eventually left‚ the carpet was so full of fleas#dozens of fleas crawling on your ankles and calfs in the first few steps in#water damage on the ceiling in another room and down the wall looked like textbook burst water pipe in the walls—#—but absolutely no pipe in those areas nor any leaks from the existing pipe as far as we could tell‚#and that's including looking for traveling drips#these tags have been a large digression from the original post#but i think of them any time i hear friends/family mentioning renting#or when i think of my dream described here in the post#it's like .. when you rent‚ your landlords are garbage and when you rent to others your tenants are garbage

I'm literally watching my apartment fall apart around me lmao
#the roof is getting to the point where we definitely need to call the landlord now (there's been a crack since we moved in 2018)#it's not leaking but i think it will this winter#the neighbour also has a damaged ceiling still and he took the LL to the LTB over it and it's still not fixed so....#i'm expecting to get renovicted when i mention it finally#i have roaches i have mice i have a hole forming in the kitchen ceiling and water damage from the hot water tank line in the other corner#there's a spot in the bedroom that's decaying because the AC is leaking into the brick wall (the AC is glued into the window)#one of our clothing bars fell out of the wall last week we have to plaster the wall before we can think of rehanging#and i'm unemployed still !!!!! the thought of moving is daunting but the thought of even APPLYING to places is frightening bc of this#not to mention we're paying like 1700 for a 2bed and 1 beds are like 2500 now

I think it’s mold exposure guys :’) we’ve had an active roof leak for months basically every time it rains and all they do is wait until the ceiling tile collapses and then replace that

No more floods in 2024 please 😭
#ive been in 2 appartments since moving out 2 years ago#and BOTH got water damage#first place the basement flooded and we discovered mold and didnt have access to the basement for 6 months 👍#and my current place had water leaking from the ceiling a month ago 👍#at least we didnt lose anything from that#except some plates that were too gross to keep afterward#it did force us to clean the kitchen completely which was good#but damn the curse of water be upon me i guess#maybe its because i changed my name from Mer to Winter...........

this is the apartment next to ours
#so there was gunfire last night#a bullet hit the sprinkler system and flooded out the top floor#our floor had water raining down in all the apartments along our side of the building#there were standing pools of water in the hallway#the video is of the unit next to ours#and somehow our apartment is the only one where the cleanup guys were like ''yeah we just have to dry out your ceiling and repaint''#all the units around us have water damage and ours is okay enough to stay here instead of having to get a hotel room#idk how we got as lucky as we did. holy shit.#personal

cupboard Finally cleaned up from our 'vacant apartment leaks water through entire building' adventure. some of the 1970s press-board Definitely warped, and i gently wiped the whole interior down w/ clorox wipes and gave the water stains a spray of lysol Just For Fun. i put down new liners, too, bc what the fuck im already in there so i might as well
next on the list is rewashing our entire mug collection, getting the rest of the dishes done, and disinfecting the entire bar and the half of the kitchen exposed to Mystery Apartment Water
#i waited until my day off so i could do it in bursts#and ALSO so i could make sure that cupboard had 1000000% Completely Dried Out#maintenance was like 'its fine! nothing structural was damaged it attaches at the ceiling :)'#but like bestie..... All My Mugs Go In That Cabinet#and the water leaked from the ceiling down the back of the pressboard and through the bottom#it was by no means saturated dont get me wrong#they got the leak fixed fast enough i only had Three Water Leaks in my apartment#but again. pressboard cupboards. from the 70s.#im not risking our entire mug collection (several of which are irreplaceable or gifts) on a Hunch
