plsss would u do sukuna taking care of his pregnant wife? like noticing his robes keep disappearing, only to figure out its his wife. or more dad!kuna đđŸ
robes â ryomen sukuna x f!reader

a/n: međ°ââïž â đčheianera!sukuna

sukuna is a deeply preceptive man.
itâs something he prides himself over, and since he is observant, he quickly notices that his robes start going missing.
in the beginning, he thinks that itâs probably the increased number of bloodied robes because he has been going on a higher number of rampages the past couple of days.
so, he goes to uraume to inquire about why the delivery of his robes has been later than usual.
uraume quickly responds that they have been personally delivering the clean robes to his chambers and ensuring that they are placed where he can clearly see them.
the revelation makes sukuna annoyed because that means that someone has been stealing his robes directly from his chambers.
he is presented with two courses of actionsâexcluding the option of saving himself the trouble and just killing all the servants: sending uraume to spy on the whole ordeal or investigate it himself.
considering how he has been pretty bored the past couple of days, he decides on the latter. the past few rampages have given a clear warning to the rest of the villages surrounding his castle.
so, with nothing else to do, sukuna takes it upon himself to monitor the main entrance of his chambers to see whether anybody enters the room after uraume places the robes in the room.
so, he situates himself near the room but far away so that they canât catch him.
he stays there for a good couple of hours, yet he sees no one, not even in the darkness of the night: the supposed prime time for a thief.
perhaps the thief has been made aware of sukunaâs inspection? but that would mean that the robes would still be in the chambers. so, sukuna enters his room in search of his robes, but, to his surprise, he doesnât find them.
that immediately leads him to concluding that whoever is stealing his robes is someone who has access to the hidden door of his room.
and no one knows about that door exceptâ
ây/n.â
you yelp and slowly turn to your husband. he is standing there, arms crossed, brows furrowed, and an everlasting frown on his face. you have been caught and are in some big trouble.
you donât falter immediately though. you try to act normal. you smile nervously, âyes, my love? is something bothering you?â
keyword: try.
he repeats your name lowly, and you quickly crumble. you visibly deflate and lower your head as you murmur, âyesâŠâ
he nods in satisfaction before asking the awaited question, âwhere are my robes?â
your hands rest on your lap, and you fidget with your fingers.
you still canât figure out what his reaction will be. so far, he is just gathering information. he is giving you nothing to work with, so you have no other option but to comply and just keep answering him.
sighing, you answer him, âmy closet.â
he quirks an eyebrow and sits in front of you. his hand is placed on your head, and he raises your head, so youâre looking him in the eyes. itâs something that you have noticed only being done to you.
you had absentmindedly asked your head servant about it, and said servant, uraume, had told you that itâs because he views you as an equal and does not take pleasure in your fear and acting inferior to him.
and in the end, sukuna only does what pleases him. if it doesnât please him then why do it?
he hums as if in thought before egging you on, âand why are my robes in your closet? in factââ he smirks, eyes observing your frame, âwhy are you currently wearing my robes?â
you pull the robes tighter around yourself, and you purse your lips. sukuna wants an answer right now, and while he is enjoying your âsufferingâ, he also wants to know whatâs wrong.
if there is anything that he hates then itâs not knowing, especially if itâs something about you, his very pregnant wife.
his hand travels to your jaw, and he grips it lightly.
âso?â he says as he tilts your head to the slide slightly.
âyouâŠhave been gone for longer than usual lately, and I have been missing you,â you admit softly as you try your best to maintain eye contact, but you end up looking away.
he is still silent, so you continue laying out your reasoning, âand for some reason, the robes alleviate the pregnancy pain. I couldnât find any logical or scientific reason, but I thinkâ
âitâs because the robes are filled with your cursed energy, maybe acting as a kind of assurance to the baby that you are beside us even if you arenât.â
he doesnât grace you with any reaction nor reply for quite a while, and it makes you think that he is probably thinking about how foolish the entire scenario is.
so, you add hesitantly, âor something like thatâŠâ
after a moment, though, he sighs and simply says, âyou couldâve just asked me, you foolish woman.â
you blink confused, âand you, my âno one takes whatâs mineâ husband, wouldâve allowed that?â
âyou, idiot, are mine, so my belongings are yours anyway,â he states, and his hands rest on your stomach, âthis is mine too, so you have to take good care of it.â
a smile takes over your face, and you nod happily, âof course, I will!â
you pause for a second, and it has sukuna confused.
you frown and you point your finger at him while reprimanding him, âand donât call me an idiot, mister! I am your wife, and I am blessed with a good name.â
a pinch is delivered to your butt which makes you shriek. you jump away from your husband and start rubbing the spot in attempt to soothe it.
sukuna smiles wickedly before suggesting, âhow about I help you with that?â
âno! keep your hands off of me, you brute!â
he chuckles, and it echoes throughout the room. itâs kind of creepy. you always said that you wanted to add more furniture to avoid that situation.
you start thinking about the new design for the room when your husband speaks up, âand regarding my absence the past few of days.â
you turn your head to him, and he continues, âI will be putting my plans on pause for a while, so you donât have to resort to the robes for the time.â
he turns his back to you before announcing, âI am expecting you at dinner and later in my chamber. is that clear?â
you feel giddiness fill you up, and you reply enthusiastically, âyes, my king!â
âgood,â he smirks.

I remember how everyone laughed at this tweet, and although I like DE in all its dramatic and depressive glory, as well as many other such games, I really don't understand the amount of contempt for sweet, cozy, relaxing ones. It's true: they rarely get DE's level of world development, psychology and writing. But that's the point: they, too, deserve it! And I sympathized with the OP's desire for something new like this, because even while I enjoy exploring dark worlds and heart-wrenching stories, there is also a big need for ones that would use the amazing power of narrative experience to ease anxiety and pain instead of just endlessly resonating with it. Especially at the end of a hard stressful day or when everything seems too bleak to willingly add fictional bleakness on top of it. It isn't shameful or childish to admit that in such moments you would rather go look for an adorable cat in a quiet whimsy village with a happy ending than investigate something violent and dismal that you already have plenty of in your own life. And it doesn't mean that games like DE shouldn't exist or are somehow worse; wide varieties of genres of art don't exclude one another, and someone's personal preferences aren't going to eliminate the rest and obviously won't kill something that has already been created, for goodness' sake. So I don't get this need to mock someone in defence of the game from just an opinion if I disagree with it; I'd rather focus on something that I agree with instead. "Here's what I liked about this thing, and I wish there was more of it in other things" is what I can definitely understand and get behind (without pointing out "but those other things are different, silly!", because... yes, they are, that's the matter!).
That's why I'm curious about Mandrake, FBG's new game. I admire â and trust â their narrative skills, seriousness and diligence. It certainly doesn't look like their usual stuff; however, the promise of mysteries, deep characters and folklore is what I can totally believe when it comes to them, so it's bound to be much more than an average game of this cutesy kind.
Of course, some part of me will still expect a sudden glimpse or The Path-style full shift to surreal horror at any moment (and I would be delighted), but it's alright if there won't be one.

30 L lawliet Headcanons

âââââââââââââââââââ
[Disclaimer!!]
This post will contain: NSFW,Sfw, Fluff, Smut It's also Genderless for the girls, gays and theys!
Youâre a task force member in this scenario.
âââââââââââââââââââ
He wouldnât call you any nicknames, so that the other task force members wonât notices you two liking each other.
But the few times you two are alone together he calls you âDearâ or âLoveâ. He sticks with the romantic names.
He shares all his sweets with you, but you have to ask him nicely.
He enjoys gentle affection way more than rough love. Gentle hugs or forehead kisses are always welcome.
He doesnât fall in love easily. In fact I would put him into the Aromatic spectrum. Only for the fact that heâs too focused on being the greatest detective of all time.
It took him some time as well to notice he loves you. Around 2-3 years to be exact.
He had some people seeking his love, but he never responded to any of them.
Heâs probably the smartest man alive so sometimes you feel dumb next to him. (Sometimes he reassures you that youâre doing great)
His love language is Acts Of Service. He appreciates it the most when you buy him cake. He loves it even more when you backe one yourself!
He rarely cries. Like at all. You saw him cry like 1-2 times since you got to know him years ago.
Heâs very paranoid of Kira killing you. Most of the time he tries to exclude you from the investigation.
Once you made him strawberry shortcake and he loved it! Loved it so much he wanted to show you how grateful he wasâŠ
He loves to give and receive neck kisses. Heâd leave hickeys on you too but only where people canât see them.
After all he wants to enjoy you alone. Heâs very gentle so he rarely bites you. Not even when you ask him.
âI just donât want to hurt you, thatâs all. Youâre so stubbornâŠâ
He has great reflexes and is super flexible as well. Heâs willing to try everything for your sake.
He also has a lot stamina. So you have to be prepared for nights that will last long. He cums throughout a lot.
He canonically can tie a cherry stem with his tongue only. Do whatever you want with this information.
He whimpers. But groans when heâs close.
Heâs always awkward when it comes to aftercare. He doesnât know what you want/need so he just decides to ask âWhat do you want to do nowâŠ?â
His cluelessness makes you chuckle most times but he does whatever you ask from him.
Heâs not a fan of âsourâ fruits like kiwi, pineapple or cranberry. He enjoys the sweeter stuff like banana, strawberry and cherry!
Heâs the type of person thatâs go non-verbal and let you ramble about your special interests. Not interfering once. Just absorbing all the information you provide.
If you guys fight he will apologize. Even if he knows he is right. He doesnât like fighting with his loved ones.
He likes to buy you gifts at many times⊠he likes seeing your surprised smile!
He likes to hear your breathing while you sleep in one bed. Itâs a nice ambiance.
He hates nuts. Walnuts, peanuts or even almonds. Everything nut related is a no go.
Every time you do something to make him laugh like embarrassing yourself for his sake, he laughs out of pity for youâŠ
His full genuine laugh is so contagious⊠itâs really rare, so rare that no one besides you and Watari heard it before.
He takes his time with marriage or any commitment. He wants to make sure that youâre REALLY ready to marry a man like him.
âââââââââââââââââââ

#holiday request Sorry, it's me again! I't just that I really, really love your writing and I forgot to mention "Alley boyfriends" and "Alfred's Boy". If you could update either of those I would be very grateful <3 <3 <3
The first sign that something is wrong is finding Damian with a bow and arrow in the tallest room at Wayne Manor. Or, more specifically, seeing the boy aiming the arrow out the window in the direction of Dick and Danny cuddling in a backyard hammock.
Thankfully, he had been fast enough to snatch the arrow from the air before it went anywhere near the cuddling duo. Damian insisted he wasn't aiming for either of them- just the strings holding the hammock up.
The reason? Dick had gone over the agreed-upon cuddle time, and Damian wanted to make him stop. Bruce knew it was just because he was jealous.
Bruce had seen his youngest making doe eyes at Danny earlier that morning while the boy was doing his daily chores. He's been more energetic since Wes left and was willing to share his half-human status with the Wayne household after a talk with Alfred.
All of his children took the news well. They had many teammates who weren't human, but Bruce could tell Danny was still afraid to tell them the truth. Despite the many times Danny provided support in the Batcave and knew of said teammates, he still feared that he would be the exception to their acceptance.
It seemed his parents had left more prominent scars than Danny had been willing to show.
After a brief but vague- Alfred made it a point that his contact did not want Danny stating what he was until it was safe to do so- the Waynes got the gist that Danny needed cuddles.
Almost all his youngest had quickly offered their services, but Alfred and Bruce stopped it. The two men created a cuddling schedule, like a meal plan, to help Danny regain a healthier state, along with the few older ones, excluding Jason.
His second eldest had been highly offended to not be on the schedule, but Alfred calmed him with a whisper. "Think about how hilarious this will be to watch?" Jason had returned to his romance novel, cackling like a loon.
He was easy to manipulate.
Alfred forbade Bruce from telling Jason about Danny's slight crush. The reason was that Clockwork had already spoken to Alfred about it being a passing fancy, and it was safer for Danny's kind to not be rejected until later. Bruce burned with many questions, but he would never dare investigate Alfred or his affairs.
He respected him too much.
Now, if only his kids would behave.
"Damian Wayne, we do not shoot arrows at our siblings." Bruce scolds, wagging a finger at the boy's pouting face.
"But you let Drake throw a spoon at Girl Row!" Damian whines, crossing his arms. In moments like this, Bruce is violently reminded that for all his advanced vocabulary and intelligence, his son is still a fourteen-year-old teenager who could act childish.
"I did not let Tim do anything. He's ground for throwing things at Harper." Bruce sighs, rubbing his right temple. A pounding headache was starting to build up there. "Just because she came to watch Danny's cooking lesson with Tim and Cullen and chose to give Danny a quick snack with her hug does not mean Tim had a right to throw utensils."
"It wasn't even aimed at her head," Tim mutters from the hallway. His punishment for his behavior was that he was to stay within the six feet radius of Bruce. It was the only surefire way to ensure Tim wasn't up to something, like working on case work or plotting to overthrow a small government.
Bruce would break out the kid's leash if he tried to run again.
It was hilarious when Tim was thirteen, and the kid leash still had the same threat level at seventeen as it did then.
"That's another week," Bruce tells him.
"What!? I didn't even do anything!"
"Two weeks."
"Come on!"
"Three weeks." Bruce drawls, which causes Damian to smile until his father looks him in the eye. "I don't know why you seem too amused. You're grown for two weeks as well, young man."
Damian throws his arms up, wisely keeping his mouth shut as he steps with Tim. Now Bruce had two kids he couldn't let out of his sight, and they did something crazy. He marches them out of the room towards his office, where he plans on getting some work done and putting them both to do some extra class studying.
They pass by Jason, who looks like the cat that got the cream at their obvious grounding. He waves a couple of tickets in the air. "It seems like you brats are grounded. Too bad, I was about to invite you to show at the planetarium."
"Why would I waste my time there?" Damian scoffs as Tim glares. Bruce feels his headache growing stronger as Jason smugly proclaims.
"Danny is a huge star nerd. He was excited to finally see the show now that he was feeling better. He wanted us all to go together, but you'll have to miss it since you're still getting grounded at your age." Jason mocks, walking away while shaking his head. Bruce has only a few seconds to wonder why his second is like this, and then Tim and Damian explode with pleas to let them join the rest of the children.
He stays firm in their punishment, but he honestly doesn't feel safe by the way the two, right in front of him, start putting their difference aside and communicate with mere glances a plan of escape. Bruce wishes their corporation wouldn't come at the expense of his sanity.
He glances out the window, watching Dick and Danny talk, and it hits him suddenly that Dick is making that face he usually reserves for staring at baby ducks and baby elephants. His eldest was forming a deeper bond with the boy, which could mean several things, but the center of it all was what made him such a good leader.
Dick was breaching the walls Danny had built so strongly around him.
By tonight, Bruce would not be surprised if Dick started calling Danny his little brother. Coupled with the effort Jason put in to get Danny out of the house and around more people, the boy was healing in a way he so desperately needed.
He was so proud of them. Bruce is so glad the kids allowed him into their lives in moments like these. They saved him more times than he counted, and he does not, meanwhile, being Batman.
The kids saved Bruce Wayne, and he hopes they will save Danny Fenton similarly if the younger boy allows it. Not just because he's Alfred's boy but because he is a Wayne in a different shade.
Danny's face lights up with a smile, looking far more alive than ever before, and Bruce's eyes soften. Then they harden when he spots Steph creeping closer to the hammock from behind some bushes, a garden hose in her hand.
"No! No, no!" He shouts, running down the hallway with Tim and Damian behind. "Don't even think about it, young lady!"

The Tempi Train Tragedy and the Ongoing Cover-Up
"I have no oxygen."

On February 28, 2023, Greece experienced the tragic train accident in Tempi, which left 57 dead and dozens injured, causing deep sorrow and outrage in Greek society. Two trainsâone passenger train carrying citizens and one freight train carrying goodsâended up traveling on the same railway track in opposite directions. After the violent collision, a massive explosion followed, raising numerous questions. Immediately after the accident, hasty actions were observed that altered the crime scene. Specifically, excavation and backfilling of the collision site were carried out before all necessary evidence had been collected.
According to experts, these actions significantly hindered the judicial investigation in uncovering the truth. In a country that lacks funds for photocopy paper in schools and where it takes years to fix a pothole in a road, on the night of the accident, 700,000 euros were found and orders were given for the immediate planning and execution of the siteâs cleanup and backfilling.
The very next morning, the entire political leadership of Greece, accompanied by the President of the Republic, rushed to the accident site. Suspicion arose from the Prime Minister's statement just a few hours after the tragedy, attributing the accident to "human error." The victims' families have spoken about the presence of flammable materials on the freight train, which caused the deadly explosion. These materials were not listed in the official cargo records of the train.
Three weeks after the incident, the Prime Minister dismissed the allegations as "conspiracy theories," insisting that the explosion was caused by the train's brake oil. Key witnesses to the incident were killed in car accidents just days after the crash. Additionally, video footage of the freight train's loading process mysteriously disappeared, with no logical explanation provided. From the very first day, audio recordings of conversations between stationmasters were made public; however, it was later revealed that they had been edited, with the apparent goal of misleading public opinion and reinforcing the narrative that human error was the primary cause of the collision. Subsequent revelations have brought to light strong indications of attempts to cover up the real causes of the explosion, those truly responsible for the tragedy, and the deep-rooted corruption within Greece.
A recent report by an expert that surfaced in the media suggests that the explosion was caused by the presence of flammable substances, excluding brake oil as the cause, since it would not have been capable of producing such a massive blast. The explosion is believed to have been triggered by chemical fuel adulterants. Recorded emergency calls made by victims to 112âactivated by the automatic collision mechanismâreveal that survivors of the crash were crying out that they could not breathe. The recorded distress calls confirm the presence of oxygen depletion due to the fire. The victims survived the collision but were burned alive.
According to the victims' families, political mechanisms are deliberately delaying legal proceedings, keeping case files buried in bureaucratic drawers and obstructing their fight for justice. As if all this were not enough, the son of the prosecutor handling the Tempi case has been missing for three weeks. Recent reports suggest that the prosecutor has stepped down from the case. Public outrage continues to grow, fueled by the widespread belief that a deliberate cover-up is taking place.
The families of the victims, railway workers, and society at large demand transparency. The victims' families, through their association, are calling for an independent judicial process in Greece. Today, across Greece, without political banners or affiliations, people are gathering under one sloganâthe last words of those who burned alive:
"I have no oxygen."

One queer protagonist a day (Pride Month)
01. HARRY DU BOIS (Disco Elysium)
Drunk, amnesiac detective and protagonist of Disco Elysium, Harry can be controlled by the player to investigate a murder but he is very much his own character. His repressed bisexuality can be discovered accidentally in so many different ways, my favorite being the absolute enraptured and dreamy way Harry reacts to the Smoker on the Balcony, which happens indipendently from players' choices!
RPG isometric detective game
Canonically queer protagonist
Queerness does not depend on player's choice
No romance
The rules For something different I wanted to add queer protagonists in videogames (excluding romance simlators). To end up in the list the only criteria were: named protagonist, the protagonist has a story that cannot be customized by the player (so for example the Inquisitor from Dragon Age did not fit!), and ideally the protagonist is their own character not customisable at all.

the runecaster diaries - potential suitors

â inspired by the apothecary diaries â [various! blue lock x fem! reader. royalty & magic au.]
By some twist of misfortune, you find yourself in the position of servant girl in Emperor Noaâs grand palace. Through a series of even more unfortunate events, you find yourself to be the general runecaster on the palace grounds, at the beck and call of all the potential heirs to cast whatever spells their hearts desire.
(you can read the full introductory piece to this series here.)
Emperor Noa's Court
â„ Lord Loki is the kind, benevolent overseer of the Gold Pavilion, where you currently reside. Heâd interacted with you a few times during your time serving as an attendant in Snuffyâs residence, though heâd already developed a good impression of you thanks to Snuffy and Charles speaking highly of you. He often drops in on your training sessions with Charles (something the boy loves to repeatedly tell you he didnât do in the past) and can be a bit prickly when the other heirs come into the Gold Pavilion requesting your services.
â„ Lord Itoshiâ Sae, that isâ is the overseer of the Jade Pavilion, and his cold, disinterested demeanor draws in suitors like moths to a flame until they are eventually met with his arrogant and condescending nature. Itâs not often that you find yourself in the Jade Pavilion, but when you do, the task that he has requested your assistance with has less to do with casting and more to do with interrogation and piecing together parts of a mystery. During your debriefs following an investigation, it almost feels as though Lord Itoshi knows more than he lets on but withholds his knowledge for whatever reason, causing you to overexplain yourself and extend your stay.
â„ Lord Kaiser, the overseer of the Cerulean Pavilion, is equal parts adored and loathed by those residing in the palace, as well as the kingdom at large. His arrogance, like Lord Itoshiâs, is well-deserved, and his masterful mask carved from charisma has suitors throwing themselves at the doorway of his villa. Those within the palace know him for the cold, cruel individual that he is, though, and not even saving his life has earned you his respect. He begrudgingly allows his personal attendant and caster to request your help with certain spells, and insists that his lingering when youâre in the Cerulean Pavilion is just to ensure you donât mess anything up. The more youâre requested to report to the Cerulean Pavilion, though, the more you realize that the tasks youâre assigned are ones that Alexis could handle just fine by himselfâ which always leaves you wondering why Lord Kaiser has assigned this to you in the first place.
â„ Knight Alexis is Lord Kaiserâs brilliant personal attendant, and the most skilled runecaster in the entire palace excluding those who are assigned to Emperor Noa. Youâve always admired his work from afar, keeping your dwindling skills sharp by trying to figure out what materials and casting methods he used in his spells during your time as an attendant. Working with him makes him even more impressive, though, and he often grows flustered when you watch him cast with wide eyes filled with admiration. Youâd been warned by Grim in the past that Alexis tends to get territorial where his work and his lord are concerned, and though youâd gotten that impression at first, itâs hardly there anymore. He doesnât mind working with you at allâ if anything, he seems to perk up at the sight of you crossing into the Cerulean Pavilion, and loves to present his other projects to you for you to give feedback on (and, hopefully, to praise).
Emperor Ego's Court
â„ Lord Isagi is the shining hope of Emperor Egoâs heirs, the poster child of what every successor should strive to be. Polite, charming, skilled, and above all else, genuine, Isagi Yoichi is definitely your top pick for the throne, and you donât even live in his kingdom. And just when you think he canât get any better, you catch him heatedly arguing with Lord Kaiser in the Cerulean Courtyardâ and winning. Lord Isagi spends a lot of time in the Gold and Ruby Pavilions, so itâs not uncommon for him to seek you out and ask to be trained in casting, since itâs his weakest point. You donât think heâs giving himself enough credit, though; heâs a very quick learner and performs new spells almost as if he knows exactly what heâs doing, but checks with you to make sure heâs doing it right, just in case.
â„ Lord Itoshiâ Rin, that isâ is a picture-perfect snapshot of elegance, grace, and beauty, up until the point where he opens his mouth and proves to everybody in the palace that the condescension runs in the family. His behavior is incredibly similar to his brotherâs, though he seems to be a bit more openly competitive and aggressive than Saeâ at least, thatâs the impression you develop of him when you run into him while carrying out an investigation for Sae that he insists he can perform and solve for his brother quicker than you can. Against your will, it ends up becoming a recurring thing, and at this point, you canât tell if heâs seriously trying to solve the case faster than you, or if heâs actually trying to work with you. Itâs not like you can ask himâ you like him better when heâs being cooperative and would rather not piss him off, thank you very much.
â„ Lord Reoâ Mikage, really, but he insists against being called thatâ is charismatic, sociable, and was raised to be royalty from the moment he was born. However, you hear from the servants of Egoâs other heirs that heâs a deeply jealous individual, which can sometimes be as inhibiting to him as it is encouraging. You bear witness to this when heâs prickly with you during your first meeting, obviously upset that his personal caster is cooking up the stupidest spells known to mankind with you rather than tending to his young master. However, things seem to smooth over after that, as he comes to be impressed with the work you get accomplished with Nagi, and even the work that you accomplish for him on your ownâ which he seems to be requesting you do more these days. Nagi often whines that youâre gonna replace him, which you think is a joke, until Lord Reo insists that two personal casters are better than one. Well, if heâs serious, heâll have to take it up with Noa, you suppose.
â„ Lord Chigiri possesses the kind of beauty men start wars over, and his confidence in his skills and appearance only draws others in more. To your delight (and surpriseâ the prettiest heir around these parts is also the prickliest), heâs also rather friendly and loves gossiping, often bribing information about Noaâs heirs out of the palace attendants. Youâre no exception to this, and the first time he requests your assistance, a spell that should only take a single morning to execute ends up taking the whole day because youâre too busy complaining to him about all the arrogant heirs and relaying to him your most dismal encounters with them. Your gossip sessions end up becoming a weekly meeting, disguised as âtune-upsâ if the other heirs ask. Lord Reo ends up attending them at some point, and after overhearing a conversation between the two while actually working through a spell, you suspect that the two are scheming to convince Ego to try and get Noa to release you to their palace.
â„ Knight Bachira is a bundle of energy that you believe would fuel a million spells if he could be harnessed. Eccentric and cheerful, he somehow both contrasts and compliments Lord Isagi perfectly as his personal attendant. One day, when Lord Isagi approaches you with a private request, youâre surprised to learn that Bachiraâs power doesnât come from runecasting, but rather, from a curseâ he was born with a demon latched onto his spirit, which had caused him and his mother to be exiled from their village. Bachira ends up becoming interested in you when start teaching Isagi spells meant to help Bachira control and coexist with the beast rather than suppress it. He can be a bit much to handle when youâre trying to carefully brew a spell, but you canât bring yourself to be upset when his laughter never fails to brighten up your workshop.
â„ Knight Nagi is just as brilliant of a runecaster as Alexis is, though he has one fatal flaw: heâs lazier than a dog. Your first few assignments from Lord Reo are agonizing, as he doesnât help you at all and you have to do the work of two casters all on your own. Itâs not until he catches you crouching behind some bushes in the Gold Pavilion, cackling to yourself as you put together a new spell to be used in your and Charlesâs escalating prank war, that you finally catch Nagiâs interest. After that, Nagi can often be spotted with you crouched over a brewing station, the overgrown man draped over you as you two bicker over which combination of ingredients would yield the most sinister effects.

[âFeeling empowered is a group effort, because in order to be able to assert yourself, you must feel safe enough to do so. A date once told me that when he teaches yoga, he declares that backbend rules are orgy rules: a maybe is a no. I like that because in both an orgy and yoga, youâre in a heightened and strange state. Youâre already pushing past a lot of standards for what your body and consciousness can ordinarily do.
Yoga teaches you to be aware of and listen to subtle body messages. Pushing too hard can result in injury, which will limit you from sustainably being able to enjoy the activity long term. So if your body tells you, âIâm not sure how this backbend is feeling right now,â just donât do the backbend. And if someone at the orgy says, âIâm not sure if I want to play with you right now,â move on with grace. There are so many other poses you can try.
Buffet was a queer play party I went to a couple of times in 2018 at a legendary Brooklyn performance art space known at different times as the Spectrum and then the Dreamhouse. Their rules were printed out and posted in the foyer where you waited in line before taking off your street clothes. They explained they had dungeon monitors (DMs) wearing pink glowing bracelets. DMs are present less as rule enforcers and more as community accountability figures. The hosts were clear about what kind of play was prohibited (race, scat, guns), the kind of play that required a DMâs permission so they could keep a close eye on psychological intensity and mess (blood, piss, food, CNC, self-suspension, gags).
Buffet had a great breakdown of what consent meant in their space: âDo not stalk, lurk, stare, follow, badger, pressure, or touch anyone without permission.â They also had a very specific anti-oppression stance: âIf you perpetuate oppression based on gender identity or expression, race or ethnicity, ability, HIV or STI status, body type, sexual or BDSM orientation, religion or spiritual path, youâll be thrown out without a refund. (However, if you come to us crying about reverse racism or misandry, we *will* laugh in your face.)â
I loved Buffetâs gender policy. Many women- and trans-focused play parties simply exclude cis men in the interest of creating a âsafe space.â While a private party can have whatever policies they want, I personally think excluding one type of person is a mistake. You cannot have any clue how many abusers are around you, how many dysfunctional relationships, how many people being petty or shallow or anything you would disagree with or disapprove of. And when we exclude men from spaces where revolutionary communication is being practiced, theyâre not learning how to do it right.
Buffet had an ingenious approach to this issue. Their policy was all-gender, but cis men had to pay $100 entry as opposed to much smaller fees paid by others, and were given a mandatory dress code of underwear, fetish gear, or femme drag. The hosts also provided the chance to be vetted on a âGood Judy listâ to waive the $100 fee. The result was discouragement of interloping creeps while embracing the kinds of men who would contribute to the partyâs unique atmosphere and people who appreciate having those men around either to play with or as friendly allies. Anyone prepared to go through these humbling paces is more likely to be the kind of guy the other attendees would be happy to have there.â]

A glimpse into 1929 Jerusalem under the Mandate for Palestine, from an investigative reporter at the time
This is from Days of Our Years, journalist Pierre Van Passen's 1939 memoir. He grew up in the Netherlands and Canada, then traveled the world as a journalist investigating and reporting on global politics.
It became the bestselling nonfiction book in the United States for almost two years, because it gave close-up, gripping details about world events that he couldn't report before.
Since I could not afford to be excluded from a single European country with so general an assignment, it was in my interest to remain on the good side of all the nascent censorships in Europe. Hence many things I investigated or saw remained unreported.
For example, in 1928... [about] the methods of the reactionary governments of Rumania and Bulgaria in suppressing popular movements - twelve thousand peasants and workers had been slain in Bulgaria alone that year - I could not send out a word. The police dogged our every footstep....
Correspondents like George Seldes, Samuel Spivak, David Darrah Gedye, and myself discovered only too soon that if we did speak out, we did not last very long, either in the countries in which we were stationed or in our jobs.
His account of the 1929 massacres, and the politics surrounding them, is an incredibly sharp and clear look into the roots of modern events.
There's some fascinating description of everyday life in Jerusalem, Muslim and Jewish alike, and of the various changes happening with Jewish immigration, before he gets to the Drama.
I just really enjoy seeing journalists needle rich and powerful people who are openly lying to them:

I get that being an indie creator is difficult, especially when your competition includes industry monoliths, but it's starting to feel like half the word of mouth about Eureka is attached to long-winded pedantic posts about how the popular thing is bad. Seeing this project become rooted in spite instead of the passion that brought me in has me starting to regret backing it.
Iâm sorry you feel that way. If the content of the A.N.I.M. tumblr blog doesnât suit your tastes, you can still keep up to date on our progress via the Kickstarter updates we put out every month, free of the personal musings and philosophizing about TTRPGs as a whole.
I do have a whole lot to say on the subjects of passion, spite, and the âmost popular thing,â though.
Passion and spite go hand-in-hand. I would not have been driven to create Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy, a TTRPG that does investigative gameplay really well, if not for existing popular TTRPGs like Call of Cthulhu doing it badly. The desire to improve upon obvious flaws is something that drives most of all of my creative work. That passion you were drawn in by is the spite youâre complaining about now, if you were drawn in by somebodyâs love of clean spaces, you shouldnât be surprised that they hate dirt and grime.
Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy isnât good just because I have passion, itâs good because i examined what came before in the artform, looked at where it succeeds, and more importantly where it fails and sucks and why, and sought to make targeted improvements there. This is, like, how all art and science evolves and improves.
Next, I think that most of the âlong pedantic postsâ about how âthe popular thing is badâ youâre referencing are actually posts by @thydungeongal that I reblog, and if you think those posts are just pedantic and only criticize D&D5e because itâs popular, I think you may have a misunderstanding of tumblr user thydungeongal, the content of the posts, or the relationship between D&D5e and the wider industry and artform as a whole.
First of all, she is passionate. She doesnât even have a financial incentive to pay living expenses like I do, sheâs posting only because she cares. (She isnât a part of the A.N.I.M. team, sheâs just a friend of several of us.)
Next is the fact that her posts tend to be more about the toxic play culture and lifestyle brand of D&D5e more than the actual content of the rulebook. When she talks about the content of the rulebook, sheâs actually really positive! More positive than the rulebook deserves a lot of the time in my opinion. The main thing is the super toxic play culture cultivated by WotC marketing.
Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, Lancer, Mothership, Monster of the Week, these are all TTRPGs that are much more popular than our teamâs projects, and even though youâll see me criticize many design elements of Call of Cthulhu from time to time, and I just plain personally donât like Monster of the Week, you wonât see me or thydungeongal rail against any of these games the way we talk about WotC, D&D5e, and its playerbase.
The thing is, as a monopoly, Wizards of the Coast and the small A.N.I.M. team are not simply in competition, we are in a war of extermination. The tactics and force of arms employed by WotC are not simply to harmlessly promote themselves and get more customers for it, but rather to destroy the entire population outside of themselves and the entire ecosystem to boot. Their tactics arenât so much focused on bringing people to them as they are preventing people from going to anyone else. If it was just a popular game like any of the others I mentioned, it wouldnât be a problem, but WotC with their flagship D&D5e are maintaining that popularity not by providing anything to their fans, but by hiding the existence of any other alternatives, and where they canât do that, they are constantly, in so many words, redefining what a TTRPG even is to exclude any other game.
One of the main ways they do this is by encouraging a complete detachment from the rules, encouraging DMs to do all the work of providing a one-man-show experience, and through these things teaching the massive playerbase of D&D5e, created by its more conventional massive marketing budget, that the content of TTRPGs does not matter, and if the content of TTRPGs does not matter and theyâre all basically the same one-man-show, thereâs no need to go through the effort of checking out any other ones besides the D&D5e youâre already familiar with, even if it doesnât suit your needs. This is the very first thing taught to basically every new person who enters the hobby, who then go on to perpetuate it themselves, and often raise a stink when that teaching is challenged. When it comes down to it this is what pretty much every @thydungeongal post that gets reblogged on this account is about. Itâs not that theyâre popular, itâs that they salt the earth.
Anyone who doesnât want to see that sort of discussion can follow the Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy Kickstarter page, or our itchio page, for updates instead, but anyone who doesnât want TTRPG developers and enthusiasts to complain and rail against D&D5e and WotC, well, you might as well tell the Lorax to shut up about the lumber industry too.
And when you see your entire home getting destroyed around you by a massive, nigh unstoppable force, how chipper and positive can you really be about it?

"Jason is Bruce's favourite, he lets him get away with murder!"
No? The only time you could ever argue that Jason 'got away' with murder was during the three jokers, and even then, it was because he was tortured when Bruce found him.
Jason has been to Arkham (not bruce), Blackgate (Bruce came back and was fine leaving him there), was beaten half to death, got dragged back to the warehouse he died in and was beaten there, got his throat slit and was left in a building which exploded afterwards, was beaten into a coma because Bruce didn't bother investigating, was banned from Alfred's funeral, got a special treatment that sent him into a panic attack when he produced adrenaline to the point where he has to self medicate with joker venom, and after his autonomy was removed he was guilt tripped into dying AGAIN. Then, he was excluded from the family at the end of the run
If this is how he treats his favourite, then I don't know what he would've done if he didn't like Jason

severus snape fic recs
my personal favs
Young Snape:
a life of smoke and silvered glass: Slight AU in which Severus apologizes, tries harder, and stays friends with Lily. Severus doesn't become a Death Eater because he believes in it, Jily get married. Sweet, slightly sad ending. (So cute).
Falling Apart: Time travel fic, no pairings, Severus goes back to when James levicorpused him. (I loved this, I loved how Mary was included and Avery had a redemption arc. Severus never calls Lily mudblood.)
in glory and in ruin: Mulciber/Snape but it's not a main part of it. Basically, a Triwizard Tournament in between the school houses, and Severus gets chosen even though he's only 16. The Marauders and Lily aren't really in it, focuses on Snape's Gang, Charity and Aurora. WIP, and I LOVE it!
The Gryffindor Sort: WIP. Long. In which Severus is a Gryffindor, Lupin is hiding something, Potter and Black are the worst, and there's a Wizarding War about to erupt.
Severus and the Marauders: Long. What if instead of being insulted and excluded from the group, Severus was embraced instead. After all, it was the actions of the group that shaped history from the sidelines. So what if they shaped history a little differently?
That Awful Snape Boy: It had all happened on Wednesday 3rd of September 1973; Minerva committed the date to memory. She would always be amazed that this discussion could happen in the first place. If the boy hadnât been unconscious, would they even have learnt anything before it was too late?
The Unwanted Boy From Spinner's End: Severus Snapeâs existence is a mistake. His mother hints at it often enough with her regretful, drawn-out sighs, while his father prefers to get the message across with a good strapping and a lecture on his worthlessness. Needless to say, the twelve-year-old is not particularly inclined to trust adults, no matter how concerned or caring they claim to be. His life changes abruptly, however, one late evening in September when an illicit brewing session results in a forced trip to the Hogwarts infirmary. Not only is the truth about Severus' home life discovered, but an investigation reveals that shortly prior to his motherâs unexpected death, a single piece of parchment was deposited into her Gringotts vaultâa Last Will and Testament in which Eileen Snape nĂ©e Prince grants guardianship of her son to none other than Albus Dumbledore himself.
To Recollect the Future: Hindsight is 20/20, but when Harry's last steps into the forest set him back further than he'd ever thought, he never realised how grateful he'd be to have Snape there to help too.
Severus' choice: How one choice changed history's course, or the life of Severus Snape from Hogwarts to adulthood if characters were less caricatural, and Voldemort and the Death Eaters were more than bogeymen. This is an AU, events before and after may differ from the books.
the lost generation:Â The Marauders era at Hogwarts, Voldemort's rise to power and the subsequent war, family loyalties and dishonour, and the struggles of friendship in a difficult time.
Snily:
Come Once Again and Love Me: My favourite Snily fic ever. Snape and Lily time travel back from their individual deaths to when they were still at Hogwarts. Realistic-Lily misses James and Harry and their falling in love is slow burn too. Made me want to cry. I almost liked James!
The Fields of Summer: Short and sad. His past was bleeding into the present, just as his future was bleeding out of the gaping wound in his neck. And since memories were useless to a dead man, Snape plucked them out of his mind and gave them to The Boy Who Lived. He didnât realize that in so doing, heâd forget her.
seventeen moons: After the werewolf prank. Severus was bitten and Lily figures it out. I hated Sirius so much and he was barely in it but he wasn't villainised-it's just the consequences of his own actions.. Loved the Snily! Short.
Surprising Lessons: Tensions run high between the students of Hogwarts in the time when Severus Snape, Lily Evans, and the Marauders are teenagers. New spells are invented, insults are traded, new bonds form, and unexpected support blooms. Short and sweet.
Vox Severus: SO cute. When Severus Snape's voice changes in fourth year, everyone notices.
Ambiguous: Order member Lily did not have a baby. Death Eater Severus did not hear a prophecy. Consequently, the Dark Lord did not fall. ...but what happens when a long forgotten prophecy suddenly shakes, and flashes through the colours of the spectrum..?
Switching Wands: Severus and Lily acted as best friends should and talked about the Whomping Willow incident. Lily is less than impressed with Potterâs behaviour from that point onward.
Her Slytherin, His Gryffindor: Lily has had enough of James' bullying ways, so she decides to finally take advantage of her Prefect status. Or, in another universe, Lily helps Severus, and they become even closer.
Sweet Root: Lily decides to get Severus drunk one summer night. Angst thereby incurred happily resolves itself into, uh, happiness.
You Don't Bug Me: âIs there any reason youâre half naked in my room?â
Snape/Sirius:
Two Sides: A time travel fic where Severus and Sirius find themselves back on the evening before they graduated Hogwarts. With no idea how and why that happened, they set out to get back to their respective timelines. After all, Sirius has to save Harry at the Minstry of Magic, and Severus needs to tell Potter about the final Horcrux. Right? Too bad that they find themselves back on that evening over and over again. (Personal thoughts: I loved this one, very in character and I loved how they 'fixed' their regrets of the past).
Broken Me Found Broken You: Itâs determined that Severus Snape and Sirius Black are immune to punishment after years of near-fatal pranks, bullying, and homemade curses. The only person who thinks them capable of ending the feud and finishing their education is Professor McGonagall. For the summer of â77, she gives them a pair of charmed hand mirrors and an ultimatum: communicate. Thatâs it, a mere ten minutes every Saturday. Back at Hogwarts, when their animosity proves insurmountable, Sirius and Severus are relegated to a small, Eighth Year dormitory. The tight quartersâwandlessâare intended to force them to make a peaceful reconciliation, but peace is impossible with a bloody war ramping up inside and outside the castle.
Sorry: Sirius Black decides to make amends for the horrid way he treated Snape when they were teenages. Snape is less than amenable to the idea. (Written around the time of book three/four). Basically, Sirius apologises a lot. And then some fucking.
The Sin in Your Grin (And the Shape of Your Mouth): The Order needed Sirius, but he doubted they'd mourn him very long when he finally disappeared. The first Wizarding war, Snape and Sirius are fucking. Sirius thinks Remus is the spy, Severus tells him otherwise. Canon-compliant: James and Lily die, Peter is the spy. The last line. Shaking.
Dead Reckoning: Severus Snape delivers a potion to Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, holding a twenty-year-old grudge in his heart. He has yearned for revenge for so longâand he will have it. Along with something else he did not ask for.
Beyond The Veil: In one world, Sirius Black ignored Severus Snape's warning and went to the Department of Mysteries to save his godson's life. He died and went beyond the veil. In another world, Sirius Black stayed back. This made all the difference. An AU where Sirius Black survived and now knew Severus Snape's deepest secret.
Rings And Ringing Bells: A bastardisation of a traditional love story. Two men both broken by the world are at witâs end trying not to kill each other. Thereâs Severus, a bitter insult who does not take fools lightly, and Sirius, a drunkard who has a habit of pressing his buttons. It involves a curse which forces them to get married, an immaculate conception, and the blurring of the line between hate and love. They fear that they have no control over their lives and are doomed to make the mistakes their parents had done before them. Theyâre not good for each other, but the fiasco that is their romance may be enough to teach them how to hate each other and themselves a little less.
Always (Come For Me): Snape might have been lying when he said Sirius Black wasn't punished for the prank he had pulled on him. It all started with Sirius having to live with the Snapes for the remainder of his summer...
An Interlude: Set during Order of the Phoenix. Snape comes across Black looking through some of his old school things. Memories are stirred up, grudges are held, old conflicts refuse to be resolved, and new ground might be (dis)covered. A series of conversations in the year before a death.
bite your tongue, go to the funeral: A funeral, a departure, a chance encounter, a war, a funeral (again), a snide remark, and a revival.
Two Boys Kissing: Sirius goes to a gay bar and meets the last person he expects. Under cloudy skies, two boys kiss and that one moment comes to define generations of want, need and hope.
An Occlument Heart: Snape knows that, usually, keeping a secret is the bravest thing you can do. But sometimes the bravest thing is to tell one. Complete. Canon (more or less) up to the start of Book 5, when this story begins.
Found in the Moments Between the Search: When Sirius returns from beyond the Veil with knowledge of Voldemort's Horcruxes, he takes on the task of finding and destroying them. Somewhere along the way he finds an unexpected ally and perhaps something more. (AU from the end of OotP, takes place during HBP period)
Walking the Monochrome: Thatâs what being a dog is like â it's like youâre walking the very edge of the world, where almost all colour has run out, and you know that should you miss a step, youâll fall off that edge... Then again, you already know all about it. The edge and the falling.â AU of the first war.
Second Life: What happens when two men are given a second chance.
The Welcoming Feast: Severus opened his eyes and he was suddenly inside Grimmauld Place. His hand flew to his neck. He remembered Nagini biting him, Potter coming to him and then he closed his eyes, expecting death, but instead he was back here.
The Devil-and-All to Pay: Albus Dumbledore is mad. Severus is sure of it, when the old man sends him to persuade Sirius Black to come back to England and let the Order use his family home as headquarters. The problem, as always, is that Severus cannot say no.
Black Out: Snape and Black try something they have never done before. Talking.
eighty-twenty:Â In seventh year James left Severus for Lily. Best choice he could have ever made. It never would have worked out. Besides, he and Lily are married now, she's pregnant with his soon to be child and Severus...Severus is with Sirius.
First and Last and Always:Â Severus had his wand. He swallowed hard. His wand. Magic. His only defense, because Black outweighed him by at least three stone. But magic was more than enough. Severus had never needed physical prowess. His magical strength, and the keenness of his mind, gave him the advantage. Except when it didnât.
Visions of Doom:Â Severus gets injured in the shrieking shack (his fifth year). While unconscious he witnesses some scenes from his future and realizes becoming a death eater wouldnât bring him power and glory but pain and servitude. He spends the rest of his schooling trying to shape a different future for himself.
Anything by FabulaRasa on AO3.
Remus/Snape:
Fuel the Pyre of Your Enemies: A paired class assignment for Astronomy incites a mutually beneficial agreement between Remus Lupin and Severus Snape. An exploration of sexuality and friendships. (One of my favourite Snupin fics, really realistic. Also no evil!peter).
where the wolfsbane blooms: Remus and Severus friendship, and then more. 7000 words-short but sweet. Severus tries to cure the lycanthropy. James is constantly befuddled.
Have Your Cake and Eat It: Remus POV. Long. Incredible. Changed my world view. I cried with Remus at the end. Still kind of happy! Time travel fic. Remus lives. Realistic for the characters and especially for the seventies (although lowkey Remus is too woke for the nineties why does he know the word heteronormative). I loved Sirius in this one. Lying in hospital after the Battle of Hogwarts, Remus Lupin has a lovely lucid dream that he's gone back to his school days at Hogwarts. Only the day passes, then another, and another, and soon he must face the terrifying possibility that it isn't a dream â that he has irreparably altered the events of the past. Cunegonde is SO good!
DELOCAPONUM: đđ'đŹ đđĄđ đČđđđ« đđđđ. A new acquaintance to the territory of teaching, an old friend to grief and misfortune, and entirely off on the wrong foot, twenty-one-year-old Professor Severus Snape reverts to an old charm of his â a charm for things that are lost â in attempt to find the one book in which he wrote it. But when the spell starts working against him and mysterious things start happening to his own students, it seems he has no choice but to form an alliance with an old schoolyard enemy in order to find a culprit, a book, and his own identity. And one thing is for certain: the irritating charm of Remus Lupin is nearly impossible to refuse.
Creature Comforts: A classic! Remus and Severus are paired to work together in Care of Magical Creatures in 6th year. Neither one is too happy with the arrangement at first.
That Awful Boy: CLASSIC! Severitus. Petunia lets slip a twenty-year-old secret, and Harry is sent to Spinner's End to study Occlumency early. Severus Snape can see no way in which this could end in catastrophe.
Not Really Here: After the werewolf prank, Severus disappears. Heâs still at Hogwartsâat least, he thinks he isâand heâs probably still alive, but no one can see or hear him. Except for Lupin. Remus, meanwhile, is avoiding the other Maraudersâas well as everyone elseâand Snape becomes the sole exception to his self-appointed isolation. As they work together to look for answers about Severusâ condition, the unlikely pair drift toward friendship. But building a relationship of any kind presents a challenge when neither of them is sure Severus exists at all. I've only read this once but I love it. No Marauders bashing, but no pretending they're saints either. And they have a pretty big part but obvs Snupin is at the forefront.
The Heir to the House of Prince: Harry is the main character and the main ship is Harry and Theo. While Snupin is secondary it's pretty central. Summer of 4th year and Harry's all alone, dealing with his grief and the sudden revelation that James Potter is not his father. Support comes in a strange form. The form of Theo Nott, son of a death Eater. A strange friend who says he'll help him find his true father, whoever this Lord Prince might be. Technically Snily ig? But not really.
Sight Unseen: After losing his sight during the Battle of Hogwarts, Remus struggles to adjust to his new circumstances; when depression threatens to overwhelm him, he receives unexpected assistance from an unknown source.
The Other Side of The Mirror: In sixth year, Remus Lupin nearly killed Severus Snape in wolf form. Miraculously, Severus escaped unharmed. But what if he hadn't?
The Meaning of Mistletoe:Â What was going on was that Severus Snape had no trouble tracking down one Petunia Evans, now Dursley, to a little town in Surrey where he saw how exactly she was treating her nephew. Which somehow led to last night and Severus knocking on Lupinâs door with a toddler half-asleep in his arms.
Spymaster: Former spymaster and one time headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Severus Snape left the house just once a week on a Tuesday. Wherein Snape wears tracksuit pants and smokes too many cigarettes and Lupin is into it.
Well They're No Friends Of Mine: Whenever his friends pull a prank on Snape, Remus always looks the other way. But what if there's another option?
The Other Side of the Mirror: I haven't read this, but it's a 'what if Remus bit Snape.' 60000 words.
Artemisa Absinthium: The Rat and the Snake: AU set during the First Wizarding War. Severus has defected from the Dark Lord, and become a double agent for Dumbledore. When he learns of an informant it sends the Order into disaray. Can he uncover the identity of the traitor before his own true loyalty is revealed? What price is he willing to pay for his redemption? And can a man like Severus Snape ever be worthy of love?
Capnolagnia: Three times Remus caught Severus Snape smoking.
About Wolves and Snakes: Unfinished. Remus Lupin woke up being fifteen years old again, having no idea how or why. Upon learning that he could not return, he decided that he would try to change the way things happened.
One Thousand Galleons: It's been six years since Remus Lupin, age 25, left England after the death of his father and the slow dissolving of his friendship with the Marauders. A letter from James finds him in Canada at an opportune time, asking him to come home to meet his soon-to-be-born son. Remus never expected that his time away would give him the perfect resume for teaching at Hogwarts, nor did he expect that his return would spark both conflict and resolution. If only he could get the Potion's Professor to understand how sorry he is for the way things turned out. âWhat is the price for your forgiveness?â --- âOne Thousand Galleons.â
Living Legend:Â Marauders-era fic, Snape decides he needs some "hands-on" experience and chooses Remus as his very special study partner. But there's more to these extracurricular activities than meets the eye.
Lily's Boy: With help from unexpected places, Harry starts on a journey to end the war, and reshape the wizarding world. With how much he looks like James Potter, people have forgotten one important thing about him - he is Lily Evans' son, and she was one hell of a witch. Side Snupin.
It's Not Over Til It's Done: Unfinished. Severus did not expect to survive the Second Wizarding War, but survive he did. Remus didn't either, yet due to unforeseen circumstances, Remus finds himself taking care of Severus in the wake of surviving Nagini's venom.
Ten Aprils: Severus must find a way for Harry to defeat Voldemort. Remus must find a way for Severus to free himself from the past. The Dark Lord is about to attack Hogwarts, and Harry needs to get over his rage, hate and despair in order to learn to summon the phoenix needed to defeat Voldemort. Snape must find the answers, then teach Harry how. In the next thirty minutes. Like it would ever happen.
A Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love: A story in which Severus Snape is unable to sleep; a certain werewolf is impersonating Celestina Warbek and cauldrons are used as prevention, sort of.
the week that changed it all:Â Itâs Christmas break in Remusâ 6th year of Hogwarts. Sadly, his parents arenât home so he has to stay over at Lilyâs house for the week. He makes a discovery he didnât know was possible. The first one was that apparently, Severus lived not far away, the second one was that he started to like the boy.
A Prince By Early Frost:Â While preparing his chamber for the Philosopherâs Stone, Severus encounters the dark fae borne by a black glass mirror, buried deep beneath the castle. He is chosen, but unsure by what, until over a year later, when a figure from his dreams takes the Defense position, asking for a favor.
Chocolate Cake and Other Intimacies:Â Remus Lupin is spending his birthday alone in the hospital wing. Severus brings him his homework to cheer him up.
That Awful Snape Boy: It had all happened on Wednesday 3rd of September 1973; Minerva committed the date to memory. She would always be amazed that this discussion could happen in the first place. If the boy hadnât been unconscious, would they even have learnt anything before it was too late? Guardian fic but Snape is the ward in this one. AU set in the Marauders Era. Rated T to be safe.
Basically anything by McKay on AO3.
Snape/James:
Knowledge of the Gods: Severus was either in a coma and dying, already dead and trapped in some purgatory, completely and utterly insane, or living in the body of his past self. And, perhaps most suspiciously, why did James Potter keep looking at him like that?!
A Touch, A Kiss, A Whisper of Love: After Severus Snape and James Potter find themselves stuck in an awkward detention together, an unlikely friendship forms. As their newfound friendship develops, James discovers something new about himself while Severus tries to fight his growing attraction to the Gryffindor boy.
Cake, Please!: Slight SA gives me the ick, but vaguely fun to read. A story of blackmail, the wonderful world of sexuality, and lots of cake.
Revenge is Sweet: A teenage Snape plots his revenge on James Potter for making his life hell, but little does he know that James has plans of his own that will send both their lives spiraling irrevocably out of control.
Ninety-Three: James promises Severus that if Severus has sex with him 93 times, he will break up with Lilly and advocate that she date Severus.
Absolution: What is it that draws James to Severus? A disease? A curse? A secret wish... a need? Try as he might to ignore the Slytherin, in the end, to Severus is where James always finds himself. **SLOW BUILD** Rated M for... certain kinds of scenes later on.
The Dreamer in the Well: James got the girl....finally. She even stopped being friends with Severus, whom he absolutely hated. But one day, his curiosity changes everything.
Love Is Strange: At the start of his sixth year, James Potter decides to finally stop ruining Severus' life. His friends agree to stop the bullying but what they do not know is the reason why James decided to put an end to it. They think he just matured or grew tired of it but the truth is a little more complicated than that.
A Fickle Thing: James Potter's marriage is failing- What a perfect time to disguise himself as a muggle, follow Severus Snape to what is either a makeshift dance club or a party for gay muggles, and then do a series of things he really should not do.
Rise: Severus Snape was tired of his fate, to be a lowly snake. Luckily, fate was kind to him this time and the arrival of a tournament had come. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing, a moment of weakness and strength that led Severus to put his name in the Goblet of Fire. But he was chosen now, and he had no choice but to play in the game, maybe he will live or die, but either way he wasn't going to become what everyone said he would be.
Apocrypha: Two can keep a secret, if one of the two is dead.
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown): Long, loved it, well written. James Potter starts his seventh year with a secret. He has amazing friends, Sirius is always right by his side, Lily is finally starting to warm up to him. His life is an endless cycle of partying and drinking. So what if the Wizarding World is on the precipice of war? So what if Severus Snape has disappeared from Hogwarts? That's not James's problem. Life is beautiful, and even if it's all an illusion he wants to hold on to that dream for just a little bit longer.
Colours of Redemption:Â Severus Snape was meant to die. Instead he was placed into hell. Trapped in timeloops, Severus tries to make sense of the future knowledge he suddenly had. If he made one bad move, everything is reset for him to try again. Being placed into a new house and everyone being nice to him, Severus is doing his best but it is hard. Especially when James Potter is noticing him in a different way.
Goeey Melting Hearts:Â In their 5th year James, Sirius and Remus over hear a conversation that makes them reconsider their opinions of the âfuture Death Eatersâ. The Marauders stop bullying, but guilt eats at James until he decides to apologize. That summer James tracks down Severus, but sees something that crushes him.
Regulus/Snape:
Burning Doves: The first Snape/Regulus I ever read. Regulus needs help with potions and Snape tutors him. Not much Marauders, they're just offscreen assholes. Narcissa and Severus friendship which I always enjoy. It's done, but I haven't finished it yet. Whoops.
Severus and Snape: Severus Snape finds Lily dead in Godric's Hollow, her son's screams echoing in his ears, and decides to end his life with hers. Fate has other ideas. Next thing he knows, he's facing an 11-year-old Lily Evans, on their way to their first year at Hogwarts.
Snape & or / Narcissa:
Seven Days:Â Severus knows a lot can happen in seven days. Slash.
Living A Lie:Â Â All of her life, Narcissa Black has had to live as the perfect lady, and witch; to never reveal one's inner heart, nor ever go against the wishes of one's family. After being forced into an engagement she does not want during her sixth year at Hogwarts, Narcissa has kept the desires of her heart on ice; particularly, for a wizard her family would never in a million years have approved of: Severus Snape. Even after the birth of her son Draco, she has harbored these desires deep in her heart for the enigmatic Potions Master. But when she comes to Spinners End to ask Severus to watch over Draco at the start of the school term of 1997, she finds that she cannot keep her heart on ice for the wizard of her dreams any longer...
What Lies Beneath:Â "Please, Professor, I saw him-I saw Snape," Harry said, struggling to breathe, "he's hurt...we've got to find him-we've got to find him right now or he's going to die!" Severus Snape's redemption story told in the span of three books from multiple perspectives.
Snape/Others:
Redemption: Severus died that night at the hands of the Dark Lord, the man he "worked" for and was "loyal", at least that's what the Lord believed him to be, an impeccable servant. Even so, he ended up dying for his master's snake. He knew it would happen, he was sure his time was coming, just like the manipulative old goat's plan. However, what would he do when he found out that he wasn't the only one who had the memories of his past life? How would his life turn out? Better or worse?
Breaking the Mould:Â Everyone knew Severus' future. Everyone knew he'd become a death eater, maybe get his mastery in potions and eventually die at his master's hand. But what if they didn't know Severus as well as they thought they did? Rather than conform to the role people expected him to play, Severus takes action. During 6th year he leaves Hogwarts, joining an apprenticeship overseas that guarantees not only a future but his own happiness. Meanwhile the Marauders (minus Peter) are left regretting what can never be. They each had a secret, something none of them were willing to admit. Only now it's too late. But what happens when Severus re-emerges during the war? Not a death eater, not a teacher even. But a strong, independent and most importantly a free man. How will the marauders react?
Dinner and a Show:Â James takes Lily out to dinner, an unhappy evening made more difficult by the arrival of Severus and Lucius Malfoy at a nearby table.
Snape & Others:Â
O Mine Enemy:Â Severitus, long. When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good. Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH. No slash, no romance. NOW COMPLETE!
I Know Not, and I Cannot Know; Yet I Live and I Love: Severus Snape has his emotions in check. He knows that he experiences anger and self-loathing and a bitter yearning, and that he rarely deviates from that spectrum⊠Until the first-year Luna Lovegood arrives to his class wearing a wreath of babyâs breath. Over the next six years, an odd friendship grows between the two, and Snape is not sure how he feels about any of it.
Second Life:Â What happens when two men are given a second chance. Snape & Sirius.Â
Not Entirely Tedious:Â Young Professor Severus Snape shows up for a meeting, but the only other person there is the Deputy Headmistress. He wants to leave and return later, after the other participants will have arrived, but Professor McGonagall explains why that is impossible. Cross about having his plans for the day disrupted for a meeting thatâs not taking place, Snape resents having to spend the afternoon with McGonagall. She doesnât seem very pleased, either, but is content to relax and wait. Snape isnât so patient, and soon manages to annoy his companion.
The Young Potions Professor:Â The staff avoided him like the plague, ignored him, or straight up left when he went into the staff room. And the worst thing was that they didn't even try to hide their collective disgust for him. If he got into the staff room in the morning and any of them were there, they would immediately get up and go sit on the furthest side of the room, as far from him as possible.
Slytherin Career Day:Â The student of Slytherin House were born with everything: wealth, prestige and pure wizarding blood. Now it's Severus Snape's job to help them find the one thing they don't have: careers.
In Another Lifetime:Â HP AU. In a world where Tom Riddle was slaughtered, the wizarding wars did not occur, and Albus Dumbledore promoted peace in Hogwarts, Lily Evans and Severus Snape did the impossible: they remained lifelong friends. Snape meets his potential, and has a shot at happiness along the way.
immortalists with points to prove: The Snape kid is hardly a hero. Then again, neither is Alastor.

Lesbian, gay and bisexual people experience exclusion more frequently than heterosexual people. This is the finding of a recent study published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin by researchers from the University of Basel and the RPTU University of Kaiserslautern-Landau. According to the study, people who are perceived as less gender-conforming are more frequently socially excluded. This could also affect heterosexual people if they deviate from traditional gender roles. In three studies with a total of more than 3,200 participants in Germany and the U.S., the research team investigated the experiences of exclusion of sexual minorities.

am i being stupid by refusing to invest any of my money? i just donât find it ethical (lots of people have 0 idea what theyre actually invested in with typical low risk investments and it would actually drive me nuts to have to investigate every single thing thats on there) and i also have zero faith in the stability of the economy or the world i just literally donât trust like that. and fear that with climate change iâm not going to have a traditional future or retirement anyway. is this incredibly stupid iâm being so genuine because i dont know
I think your ethical concerns are totally reasonable. Any investment in the stock market is pretty inherently fraught, even if you choose index funds that exclude the especially bad stocks of like firearms/military contractors/etc. Even something like a bond can be easily said to be bad, because it's a loan to the government, and most money market or high yield savings are not untainted either, because most banks themselves invest in fucked up shit like oil pipelines. The one avenue I think that would be mostly okay is a high yield savings account for a credit union, or a bank that you've researched and know doesn't invest in that kind of shady shit. I have also argued previously that it's not wrong to invest in an apartment or house -- as long as you're not landlording, vulnerable people having more secure housing and the ability to share that housing with others in their community is good and understandable. So on balance, I get where you are coming from, though I think having a financial safety net makes people less likely to have to take on unethical jobs and makes them less vulnerable to financial abuse and exploitation, which has merit ethically.
I tend to see the doomerism question a bit differently. If the US empire falls or the economy collapses, you'll either have much bigger problems than your 401k bottoming out (problems like the complete obliteration of the supply chain), OR we will be living in a financial paradigm so dramatically different and more just that you wont MIND that you dont have that money anymore. Whereas if the US economy continues to exist, you're gonna be fucked if you dont have a retirement to fall back on, so why make yourself needlessly more vulnerable by not saving? The ethical rub with this, though, is that it creates the moral hazard of rooting for the US empire and economy to never fall, and that rendering you more conservative... which is a possibility, but like, as i said, i think it's possible to have some money saved for a rainy day under capitalism while still praying for capitalism's downfall. if anything, being more financially independent makes it EASIER for me to risk unemployment & etc by doing more radical political actions and speaking my mind and saying no to things. but ymmv
