CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST WOMEN, ITS HER FAULT?

RG KAR MEDICAL COLLEGE&HOSPITAL, THE HEINOUS ACTS

NOTE: THIS POST HAS INFO SOLELY BASED ON MY OWN RESEARCH, SOURCES FROM THE NEWS AND INTERNET SO CREDS OF SS TO THE OWNERS. if you have any other information regarding this case, please please do feel free to reblog this and share them, as i can't compile everything in one post due to the case being an ongoing one. I would appreciate if you could read all of it, I tried to keep it short and compact and easy enough for everyone to understand. Of course, I have to keep a few names and specific political parties and critism out of this for obvious reasons of this post being taken down, but trust me, karma is real.

01 TAKE HER NAME, DON'T FORGET HER

Dr. Moumita Debnath, a junior female doctor, a 2nd year PGT at R G KAR medical college and hospital was gang r4ped and m4rdered in the college seminar hall, while she was in a 36 hr shift, in 9th of August, 2024, Kolkata.

R G KAR, a reputed college and hospital, only allowing the top of brains to enter its premises, has now lost it's name to this heinous crime. Moumita debnath's perpetrators live to this day and the college authorities are yet to pay any heed. Why?

That poor girl was bleeding from her eyes, vagina, with disfigured limbs and broken collarbones, bite marks, broken pelvic girdle and hyoid bone several other signs of struggle and violence ( attached report below ) Even her legs were forcefully coaxed apart, that her bones were broken. 150 gms of sperm was have been discovered from her body, when a male individual can only transfer a maximum of 15 gms. Can you imagine her pain? What did she do to deserve this pain and suffering, this heinous crime against her? Can you imagine how her parents must have felt to hear the news?

Oh, I forgot. This absolute blood boiling, gut wrenching and demonic of an act was immediately announced as a "SU3CIDE" upon initial FIR, and to her parents, by authorities. Can't you see? How they tried to coarctate the matter by calling it a su3cide?

How can a girl with extreme signs of violence and r4pe on her body, with little to no clothes, broken limbs, bleeding eyes, commit a su4cide? THIS IS A BLOT ON THE AUTHORITIES WHO ARE CLEARING VIEWING THIS MATTER AS A JOKE no girl in that condition can commit a su3cide, do you really think people are THAT DUMB?? that we won't notice you trying to cover up this case??

02 TAMPER THE EVIDENCE, HIDE THE CRIMINAL

Dr. Moumita Debnath's body was cremated without her parents' approval/permission. They were kept waiting for 3 fucking hours. As if to get rid of her body as soon as they can with minimal autopsy, before CBI could even start investigation.

As soon as this case was handed over from WBPD ( west bengal police department ) to CBI ( central bereau of intelligence ) mobs have barged in and LITERALLY DAMAGED THE WALLS BESIDE THE SEMINAR HALL ( the crime scene ) inside the college premises. And for what? Come on we know it all, for removal of some obvious evidence.

On 14th august, during the middle of the night which was during the ‘RAAT DOKHOLE MEYERA’ ( girls reclaim the night ) rally, in RG KAR, mobs yet again managed to infiltrate the college premises to cause damage again, this time targeting specific cctv cameras as well. They also vandalised public property and vehicles in a "profesional" way. — “MBBS student Anupam Roy, an eyewitness to the mob attack, said the mob's act was deliberate with the clandestine motive of ending their agitation.” — from Hindustan Times.

They even CAUSED HARM TO THE WASHROOMS OF THE FLOOR WHERE EVIDENCE COULD'VE BEEN FOUND. The motive of the mob is obvious— to tamper the evidence in order to protect the perpetrators.

03. POLITICS BEFORE BASIC LAW & ORDER?

Political parties are busy blaming each other and throwing dirt on names, meanwhile also trying to hide the perpetrators and start protests against opposition parties. Is your political position and meaningless arguments more valuable than a girl's life which been lost so brutally? Can we not keep politics aside, just for a moment and try to bring the girl justice? These thick skinned selfish monsters don't feel the pain of her parents, the emotions of helpless women and the crime they're commiting themselves.

They are slowly shifting away from the main matter of bringing her justice, trying to coarctate is slowly by heavy politics. Well the public is not dumb, we can see it all and understand how our CM doesn't even care about this situation.

SHAME ON YOU, the authorities, you're are only hope in this city in this state and you're acting this way?! Do you not have spines? Is money and votes everything to you? How low is too low and why is it the west bengal government?

They even have an accused suspect in custody ( Sanjoy Roy ) whom everybody is calling a scapegoat, which he possibly could be regarding the governments recent inactivities towards the situation. They are even giving out orders to resist rallies and protests, such a fucking disgrace, cause then vandalism and tampering of evidence is right but not raising your voice against it?

04. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE?

This year marks the 77th independent year for India, but are we really? Women are not safe at night walking along the streets their own ancestors fought for, women are not safe in their own workplace working shifts, women are not safe in public transport, in their homes, neighbourhood, schools, colleges, NOWHERE ARE WE ALLOWED TO HAVE A PEACEFUL BREATHE. But for how long? It's been 12 years since we witnessed a similar, horrible and atrocious crime as NIRBHAYA, only for it to happen again. This shows how weak, corrupted, and unjust Indian judiciary system has become, and as an Indian myself, it ashames me deeply to admit this. We are failing as a society, still not being able to create a safe environment for our women.

But time has come now to raise our voice and fists together against this oppressive, corrupt government and snatch our own freedom ourselves. DONT YOU EVER FORGET ABOUT HER, TAKE AND HER NAME AND PROMISE YOURSELF TO BRING HER JUSTICE. If we forget and give up, god knows how many others will die like this without any justice. Justice is ours and we will have it, there is no point of being 'independent' if we have to do candle marches every other day, mourn for our women every other day, be scared of letting our daughter out every other day.

This is time, we rise up as one.

We want the actual criminals to be punished a hundred times more cruelly than Dr. Moumita Debnath was k!lied.

shutting off her phone, y/n looked around, trying to make out where her friends told her to look for. she saw a little dirt path and figured she may as well follow it and hope it led her to the beach where the others were. making her way down the path, she saw a convenience store and decided it was a good idea to pick up some drinks for the other pogues.

entering the store, y/n was immediately hit with a refreshing cool breeze. she looked around for the fridges for a minute or two and found them at the back of the store. she picked out some basic drinks and gently placed them into the green plastic basket she picked up when she first entered the store.

as she made her way to the checkout counter, y/n felt a pair of eyes watching her. she turned around to see what was a young girl, around twelve or thirteen, with dark hair and glasses. she was just looking at her. staring, even. awkwardly, y/n gave her a smile and turned away when the girl called out to her.

“um excuse me? i’m sorry to bother but i’m a big fan, would you mind if we took a photo together?” the young girl spoke.

turning back around, y/n replied. “yeah of course, kid. what’s your name?”

“wheezie!” the girl replied after she took a couple selfies with the formula one driver.

“oh you’re sarah’s sister! well then, i’ll see you around, wheezie. thanks for your support!” she told the girl and then walked away to the cashier’s counter.

after paying for the drinks she bought, y/n finally found the beach everyone was at. she walked down to the spot where cleo and sarah were sitting and offered them a drink from the bag.

“girl you just saved my life, this heat killing me” cleo thanked her as she took out a bottle from inside the shopping bag.

“by the way, sarah, i saw your sister at a convenience store. shes adorable, asked me for a photo and said she was a big fan” she explained her encounter to the blonde girl sitting across from her.

“dude you don’t get it shes such a fangirl, like she and rafe always fight whenever theres a race happening. every time it’s you and the other guy rafe supports they go crazy” sarah told her as pope came back from what seemed like a large circle of people yelling at eachother.

pope explained to the girls as he walked them over to the group how topper’s girlfriend, ruthie, ran over a turtle hatch and killed some of the baby turtles. y/n watched as kiara yelled at ruthie and topper, while a bunch of other kooks stood in the back. she recognized one as the same guy from the drug deal she saw earlier, rafe, was it? sarah’s brother. he didn’t seem too pleased with the situation, she could tell by the fact that he distanced himself so far away and didn’t attempt to aid topper in the argument. eventually, the situation died down after jj yelled at the kooks to stay away from them.

“yall got some truly interesting people down here, huh?” y/n spoke, trying to diffuse the tension.

“yeah, swear almost all those damn kooks smoke shit for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” her brother responded.

One of the reasons I have been quiet is because the Capitalist Gods have descended upon me and they went something in the lines of "Yadda yadda economy bla bla money flow, Submit Or Be Punished", which The Essence of Divine Art disagreed with, but still here we are.

My reasonings for [setting up shop] are entirely Parable unrelated in general - hey, I'm just a blog and not exclusively bound to this storyline as much as the rest of the gang, whoo hoo and all of that - but I admit I'm having fun transferring small pieces of this lovely tiny office world into "real life", whatever that even means. Will likely add more. I'm certainly far from out of ideas. Will add more variations as well, apparently a "Who Farted?" duvet cover is in high demands. Please do have a look-around and maybe a laugh or two. I will say that if you actually want to buy something, RedBubble very regularily has "25% off everything" sales, so you might want to wait for one of those. The next one's May 13th, if I'm not mistaken.

Hi, I came to report to you that your ql music research is rubbing off on me 😅 I was watching ep 2 of Ploy's Yearbook (for Joong and Namtan 😍), when suddenly I recognized a piece of music!! But I couldn't place it, so I tried to remember which series have I watched so many times that I'm familiar with the music. I reached the tentative conclusion that it must be from SIMM or possibly from Hidden Agenda (but I definitely connected it to JoongDunk). Maybe I need to do a complete rewatch of both series to confirm, what a hardship 😂 I just wanted to tell you that maybe aside from being a JD vampire bl truther, this will be your other legacy

my thoughts of ‘protags in digimon adventure’ include:

reki (17) and tai (33) meet. reki is a new digidestined but feels like he isnt good enough to save the world without any repercusions. especially since the friends he makes get into danger. he doesnt feel like he should be a part of the team bc of this. tai talks about mimi and his first time in the digital world, and of the 02 gang if he needs to learn how to juggle the digital and real worlds.

naruto (12) in digimon adventure is basically: the blondes talk about their abandonment issues. im serious. its right there. dark ocean angst abound. hes tenacious, but is also anxious of why renamon is his partner. he’s sure the people back home wouldnt be happy to see he has a fox physically at his side.

luffy? hes pretty set on how to survive. he’s cool. hungry, but still surviving. he’s got a cool new friend and new nakama to add. why is there weird technology? why is he tied down to a prophecy? he just wants to be free of expectations, of society, of his blood and all the consequences of it

basically,

*ehem* Sorry. I'm ok. Anyway... Digimon Survive uwu and as an extra: I, myself, was supposed to be born on Feb 29 but I went ahead of time and ruined my mom's telenovela finale by being born on Friday 23rd (ง ื▿ ื)ว

Ok so, I just came back home from watching and I'm still shaking.

02beginning SPOILERS AHEAD!

Because I went to the very first screening at 12 pm, we were only 6 in the room and one guy went cosplaying as Dukemon (was too shy to ask for a proper pic because he was with his girlfriend).

*ehem* well, onto the movie... THANK GOD HERE IN MEXICO FOR THE LATAM SPANISH DUB WE NEVER GOT THE EVOLUTION SONGS DUBBED BECAUSE LISTENING TARGET AND BEAT HIT IN THE CINEMA WAS SUCH A DELIGHT AND A BLESSING I COULDN'T STOP SHAKING and yes, I cried a bit.

The experience of being welcomed with Bolero with an overwhelming audio is something I'll never forget but onto the plot.

Because I thought I would have to wait years to watch it, I actually looked for spoilers but nothing very explicit tbh, I also saw people saying there was body horror but honestly, Ghost Game had it "worse" xD so I wasn't that bothered by what Ukkomon did; he never did it with malice anyway, of course it was kind of... wrong? Awful? But he did it because he genuinely wanted for Rui to be happy; no one told them they had to talk in order to have a healthy relationship.

I don't think I ever felt so close with Daisuke before despite being a Dai oshi; I felt so angry with how Rui's mom treated him, being a 4 years old baby... this was the second time I cried in the movie (the first being listening target and don't believing that I was there watching xD) and I swear I wanted to cross the screen and scream at her a couple of things. Rui was genuinely a good boy (still is), going to talk to his sick dad about their day, I thought that was very sweet.

At the end, the "time travel" didn't really felt like that to me but rather a very immersive memories.

The evolutions sequence were beyond amazing so, nothing to say really xD just thankful that XV-mon and Stingmon were actually "drawn" rather than staying as CG and even so, the CGs were very neat.

I was quite worried about the dub but it seems the dialogues were done properly, at least taking in consideration what I remembered from the PVs. Thankfully we got Hikari, Iori and Ken having their same VA from Adventure along with the Digis; Daisuke and Takeru had their same VA from Lastevo and Miyako got a whole new voice but they did decent, they actually got quite well how the 02 gang is.

And Daisuke, oh my boi being the man I trust to ruin it with the police xD "why didn't you stopped me?!", I love you uwu and how he was the only one to tell Rui right to his face what he had to do.

The battle sequence was nice as well, I was worried for a moment to be honest and loved that scene where Miyako "ships" Daisuke and Ken-chan uwu

I knew we had to go in a big fight but I genuinely felt bad that the only solution was to defeat Ukkomon. I actually stayed until the post credits scene and I was happy to see Rui smile ;w;

So, in my humble opinion, it's a very good movie to add to the Digi Lore, it's very enjoyable and was what I needed for 02.

I saw people say that the movie doesn't solve the losing partners issue presented in Lastevo but I think that's not the case: Ukkomon gave the chosen children the Digivice via Homeostasis; considering that this "superior being" is indeed Homeostasis, this giving the partnership a tangible item to tie Digimons with Humans but, is that all?

I personally think that Takeru being anxious over losing their partners was justified after all, Yamato lose Gabumon so I understand why he would hesitate to kill Ukkomon; at the end, the Digivice was just that, a tangible bond but, they don't really need it, do they? Just like how in Adventure, Taichi and co. didn't needed the crests to evolve because their hearts were the actual crests.

The Digivice ties Digimon and Humans, yes but even without it, the bond is there so how does this solves the partners loss? As long as they have a bond, they will come back I mean, Ukkomon is coming back and Rui's Digivice is no more plus even after losing their D3s, Daisuke and co. still had their partners, right? This just shows that Digimon Survive was right in not giving their protagonist digivices: KIZUNA. We don't need the bond to be tangible, right?

Also, I almost screamed when Wallace was on screen with Terriermon and Lopmon ;w; it was nice to see Chichos too xD How did your dubs named her anyway? Here in Mexico it was changed to "Guadalupe"; Chichos sounds like "chichis" and that's a way to say "boobs".

Anyway, because I want more cards, I'll go to watch it again on Sunday because it's the only day I have free ;w; hope they don't run out of them, I want all my kids OTL

I got this figure on eBay on 10/02/21

Back in 2020 I got the Gen Selects Beast Wars II Predacon Seacon team, which was primarily a white & gold repaint of the Combiner Wars G1 Seacon team, minus Nautilator. For some reason he wasn’t part of the Beast Wars II team. So one day I decided to get him on eBay. At the time he was pretty affordable. I kind of regret not getting the rest of the gang but I can’t own everything.

Beast Mode:

Beast mode is a lobster. Of sorts. It’s close enough.

It’s an aquamarine and black robo-coruscation, and I believe is a heavy retool of ‘Power of the Primes’ Terrorcon Blot.

The beast mode is pretty fun, of course he’s got a lot of neat robo details, and I dig the claws

The beast mode’s alos got several 5mm ports so you can add all sorts of weapons on him.

My only real issue with this mode would be the lobster legs for they don’t lock in anywhere to the beast mode’s body.

Transformation:

The transformation is pretty simple but it’s also pretty fun too.

Robot Mode:

Naulitator’s robot mode is a serviceable hench-bot. Nothing particular really stands him apart; he’s your basic bot mode with lobster parts hanging off of him, but the toy is so solid, and stands well that I just really dig him!

Accessories:

Nautilator comes with quite a lot of accessories.

-Tail gun (which is part of the beast mode)

-rifle

-battle axe

-combiner hand

-Small pistol/combiner hand cover

I find it pretty incredible that along with the several 5mm ports Naulitator has on the toy even his weapons have a lot of 5mm ports and pegs too. This helps create so many versatile options for weapons combinations, placements, and something I really want to try out; Weaponizer and Fossilzer options too.

Now Naulitator was made before the Siege/Earth Rise/Kingdom weaponizer feature was invented, but retroactively there’s possibilities here.

Limb Modes:

As a combiner limb, Naulitator has the option of being either a leg or an arm, and I have to say that this is a beefy arm.

Sunday

The first Manga Sunday without Cipher Academy…maybe I should just walk into the ocean…

Girl Meets Rock continues to be surprisingly good with its realistic and down to earth writing on teenage emotions.

Undead Unluck is gearing up for another big fight, and I’m glad that Top is fully invested now.

Oshi no Ko is…it’s certainly strange for them to cast two siblings as a couple, no matter the circumstances… If this movie was released in our real world, the impact it’d have on the Japanese entertainment industry would be staggering, so I can certainly feel its weight.

Magilumiere was fine, I like Shigemoto’s new more goth lolita look, and I hope he keeps it going forward.

I watched the latest episode of Undead Unluck, and it was pretty okay. I saw people doomposting about the amount of recap, but I thought they were used artistically enough that it was passable, plus it did help to jog the audience’s memory since the show always has a lot of stuff going on. The last few recaps about Billy were truly egregious, though, but I guess they needed something to stretch out the episode and time the cliffhanger at the end. The scene where Juiz mentions Andy’s mole was glorious, and in general I liked the atmosphere of the episode. They managed to keep things engaging even when it was literally just twenty minutes of Juiz explaining the lore. The next arc is going to be pretty exciting…

I tried reading Whalefall by Daniel Kraus, but the writing was so painfully on the nose that it made me cringe, and I hate long introspective narratives anyway, so I dropped it.

After literal months, I finally picked Sammy Keyes and the Search for Snake Eyes back up and sped through the rest of it in one sitting. I was a little hesitant about van Draanen featuring Mexican gang culture in one of her mystery stories for children, but thankfully it didn’t come across as too stereotypical – I think van Draanen is good about seeing the complexities in the issues that kids and teens face (including non-white ones), and she doesn’t tend to flatten or moralize too much. Sammy’s life is just as chaotic as ever, with the stakes rising with each book, and it can really reduce me to a ball of stress, but this instalment kept the action moving quickly enough that things were okay soon enough. We get another scene of cathartic karmic justice for Heather’s shenanigans, and this time even the teachers have to eat crow, so that was fun. And I like that Officer Borsch is finally seeing for Sammy for who she really is, and the tension in their relationship that comes from the secrets that Sammy has to keep. Sammy has so many complex relationships, and that makes reading about her world so engaging.

Monday

Finally watched the season 4 finale of Downton Abbey, and it was a bit of a slog for me. I get that the writers want to expand the world and add more characters, but I really don’t care about any of them, especially when they start having subplots with each other and not with the main cast. I hate the Mary love triangle thing (the two men are literally indistinguishable to me), I hate the Tom possible new romances thing, I hate everything to do with Rose, etc etc. I do find it funny to see how surly and world weary Daisy has become, and at least we ended the season off with a beautiful Carson/Hughes moment.

Tuesday

Oh, finally some action in Downton Abbey. I’m glad to see Jimmy gone, he was annoying. And I like the weird little tentative friendship that Anna and Thomas have. Edith’s storyline with her daughter is the most interesting thing in the show right now, but again I lament how she always gets the short end of the stick in life.

Wednesday

I watched the new Game Changer season premiere with my friend, and it was pretty okay. I like that the rules of the game make for some interesting strategies, and I liked all the game show parodies they did, but other than that it didn’t particularly stand out to me.

Also caught up on Dirty Laundry while I was at it, but again nothing in the episode really left a lasting impression.

Thursday

Finished catching up with Dirty Laundry this morning, and I found this episode to be a lot more fun. Paul’s story was a particular highlight for me.

For this week’s DunMesh Thursday I’ve made 粉蒸肉, and thankfully it’s turned out perfectly. Unfortunately, the episode itself wasn’t much on food porn lol my timing’s always off… But it was such a fun and funny episode – Kabru’s party wiping out again, Laois’ singing annoying the sirens away (Kentarou Kumagai I always knew your vocals were slay), Laois not recognizing Kabru but recognizing the Kobold right away, Chilchuck chastising Laois multiple times, Senshi learning that magic isn’t all that bad, Laios getting a parasite…he’s such a freak and I love that.

Barrelled through Downton season 5 today, and I’m happy to say that I’m finally enjoying it again. Mary’s horribly boring love triangle plot is finally over, Edith can spend time with her daughter without too much stress hanging over her, I like the weird friendship Tom’s built with the sisters, Thomas has been humbled into helpfulness somewhat (it’s so funny how the Crawleys employ his craftiness at the sight of a common enemy), I like Moseley and Baxter’s romance, the Denker and Spratt rivalry is so stupid and funny because of their equally massive hater energies, and I’m loving that Isobel and Violet are actually friends now, and get romantic plotlines of their own. And of course, the Carson/Hughes proposal!!!!! It was perfectly awkward and sweet and the best thing to end off the season. It feels like I’m back at the beginning of the show again, where I know who everyone is and I care about their storylines because they’re actually interesting. Anna and Bates are the only ones where I feel the story kind of drags – it’s a little insane that they’re doing the imprisonment plot again but with the other party this time, but at least it doesn’t drag out for as long.

Friday

Undead Unluck…I remember the Anno Un arc making me cry in the manga, so I’m preparing myself for the weeks ahead. This episode was super cute, lots of meta and referential humor that’s fun for anyone who’s into manga history, and also lots of fun character gags and parodies going on. As a…well, I draw comics too, so I greatly feel Tozuka’s pain, and I imagine that this plot element was a cathartic one to write (if only I also had six extra arms to do things for me…). They gave us a little glimpse this week, but next week we finally get to see anime Canada so that’ll be super fun for me.

Wow, this was a surprisingly good episode of Drag Race. I think this is one of the best Rusicals they’ve ever had – I liked most of the songs, the choreo was fun and varied, the characters were distinct, and there were honestly no real weak links in the cast (they really had to nitpick to choose the bottom three). It was fantastic to see Plasma and Sapphira in their elements and absolutely knocking their parts out of the park, and I’m glad to see another win for Plasma (finally some justice for the endearingly annoying white musical theater gays). And then the runway was also amazing, Plasma, Sapphira, and Q were the clear and deserved tops, but I also liked Nymphia’s cactus dress and Xunami’s bouquet dress.

Watched through the beginning of Downton’s last season and it’s really fun. I love that Edith is becoming an independent career woman who’s learning how to run her own business, and she’s finally getting a love interest who’s just a normal guy and not twice her age or married to an institutionalized woman or an imposter of a childhood crush (literally what the fuck was up with that plotline. It showed up for a single episode and seemed to just be there to fuck with Edith for the millionth time). Daisy’s fickleness is annoying me a bit – you’d think after six seasons she would’ve matured a little bit, but she’s just as beholden by her whims as ever. Hughes and Carson’s wedding was so sweet and cute, and it’s hilarious that Branson shows up again like he didn’t spend just three short episodes in Boston before swiftly changing his mind.

Saturday

I’ve finished Downton Abbey…well, the show, at least. And I think I can say that it has a pretty perfect finale. This whole season was great, with a lot of dramatic storylines that I felt invested in but also some more comedic ones that kept the tone light (Denker and Spratt come to mind). I love that Edith gets to have her wedding be the finale of the series, and the way that it brings together everyone on the show makes her feel truly loved for once. After six seasons of misery, it’s wonderful to see her finally happy. Some other highlights from the season were Edith calling Mary a bitch, which was extremely deserved. Since the beginning, Mary’s constant putdowns of Edith never sat right with me (no matter how clever her insults were) so it’s extremely cathartic to see Edith stand up for herself for once. And then I loved seeing Lady Grantham as a mom, sending her son a new puppy when they’ve had a fight. Carson didn’t start the season off in a very favourable light, with him being demanding with Hughes and insensitive with Thomas, but at least he came around by the end for his bittersweet goodbye as the butler of Downton. Speaking of Thomas, I’m slightly mad that Mrs. Patmore never apologized for assuming that he and Andy were doing something untoward – they even had the scene where Andy admits that he can’t read in front of Mrs. Patmore and Thomas, and we don’t even get a shot of Mrs. Patmore realizing that she’d been mistaken. Thomas definitely had an extremely rough go of this season, and it made me so sad to see him genuinely shaken and lonely, but at least he finally got what he wanted at the end. I haven’t watched the movies yet but I really really really hope they give him a romantic interest in them, I think he deserves one… I like that the finale has all the couples happy, with a few still up in the air (Molesley/Baxter, Andy/Daisy) so it doesn’t feel like a total cheesefest. This would definitely be an episode I’d return to if I wanted some comfort food.

As a whole, Downton Abbey was definitely a show of ups and downs. When it was all working, it was marvellous – all these interesting characters that I cared about having interesting interactions and finding a way through their lives and romances and careers. But when it wasn’t working (cough season 4 cough), it was an absolute slog to get through, and I think the show’s biggest weakness is how it can’t convincingly write two people falling in love over a period of time to save its life, which is troublesome when that’s what 80% of the show is about. I think the first season started off with a big dream and a strong conflict that petered out as they didn’t know how to resolve it in an interesting way, and then it was just getting its footing when two major characters left the show at the end of season 3. Season 4 definitely felt like the writers were scrambling and throwing anything they could think of at the wall, and it didn’t go over well with me at all. But they eventually found their groove again, and cut back on the amount of characters so that we could really focus on the ones I was actually invested in. And after so many trials and tribulations, it ended on the perfect note. It’ll be a 6/10 from me.

Leaving your country and getting used to a new culture is never easy. Add being a defector, a former russian prison guard to that.

But Dmitri couldn’t complain, the american got him a roof over his head, a warm, comfortable bed to sleep on and good company. 

The good company took shape as Joyce’s younger sister. 

“What is go– Jim?!” she exclaimed like she had seen a ghost. Well, kind of, right?

“I’m back?” Jim said sheepishly. 

“I’m back?” Jim said sheepishly. 

“Seriously, what is going on?”

“Honey,” Joyce interrupted, “let us in and we’ll explain everything.”

And they did. From the Starcourt Mall incident opening a portal to Russia, to Hopper getting imprisoned, to Joyce and Murray traveling all the way to said country – which got Joyce an earful for doing what she did without telling her sister – and to how they got out of the prison and back to the States. 

“Okay, hold on.” The young woman pleaded, the amount of information almost unbearable to digest. “Okay, so you're telling me all those creatures, the ones that got Will, the things we saw at the underground base– I saw– we saw Hop die! But in reality, he just magically showed up in a russian prison, and Enzo, Dmitri…” she stopped for a second, taking the time to look at the russian man’s face, the amused smile on his lips making her lose her already scrambled train of thought, “what should I call you?”

“I don’t care, both are fine.” 

“Well that was very helpful.” she scoffed. “Anyways, so Dmitri” she raised an eyebrow towards the blue eyed man, earning her a shy smile and a timid nod in confirmation “a russian prison guard, sent you a doll full of clues, you and Murray went to Russia, got ambushed, found Jim, fought with other prison guards, fought the tulip from hell, and made it back home?”

“Yeah!” Joyce said with her sweet, joyful voice. 

“Okay,” the younger Byers nodded, “so what you need me for?”

“We need a place for Enzo to stay.” Murray said. 

“For a little while, just so we can solve everything.” Jim added. 

“Of course. Welcome, Enzo slash Dmitri.” she smiled. 

But harder than adjusting to life in a new country, it was adjusting to living life with her. 

She was nice from the get go, going out of her way to make him feel comfortable, to make him feel at home. 

Her guest room turned into Dmitri’s room, the decoration becoming as cozy as it could get. She learned how to make his favourite dishes, making a separate grocery shopping list with whatever he wanted, and she even started taking russian classes. The small act of kindness made Dmitri emotional. 

He could hear her repeating the foreign words through the shared walls of their bedrooms every night. 

Dmitri often told her that she didn’t have to do everything that she was doing for him, and her answer always was “I’d do it for anyone who helped the people I love the most.”

Bit by bit he got used to it, but he never got used to her and the effect she had on him.

She’s beautiful, one of the most beautiful women he has ever seen. And it didn’t take long for her to plague his every single thought. 

It started innocent, like when he saw some flowers down the driveway that he thought she would like, or when a new episode of her favourite show was on and she wasn’t home.

But his daydreams quickly escalated.

Dungeon Starter Ideas

A wise DM once said, “you’re only as original as the obscurity of the things you steal from.”

So here’s a few ideas I stole from my brother, books, TV, other DMs, and my own campaign notes! These descriptors can be purely atmospheric, or you can use the unique circumstances to complicate things for your players!

I’ve marked the ones I’ve actually played with a ♥, in case you want to hear some specifics of how it went. I’ll be updating this list, so keep your eyes open.

Locations:

♥ A translucent and fragile-looking spire made of ice, amber, glass, or crystal

The hollowed insides of an old, giant tree (dead or alive)

Above the beanstalk, up in the clouds

♥ A forgotten underground tunnel system connecting two cities

A ruined castle half-buried in snow/sand/earth/water

An abandoned mining pit

A Labyrinth, complete with a wandering monster, and a curse which breaks navigational magic

The forgotten corridor between dimensions where outsiders, stragglers, and ideas live

The Moon

The bones of an ancient, colossal creature

♥ A magic library, with living books and other hazards

♥ An abandoned Frankenstein lab, or construct factory

A high-security bank, prison, etc.

Twist:

♥ This dungeon seems to appear and disappear at different intervals and locations, meaning coming in (or leaving) is sometimes impossible

♥ Gravity works strangely here. You may find yourself upside-down to the rest of the world, standing on floating platforms that crumble and break in odd directions

♥ This is a pocket dimension with its own set of rules--perhaps literally using the rules of a different board game, arcade game, or rpg

♥ There is a spirit living here who represents the dungeon itself. It is ancient, enormous, eccentric, and with uncertain morality.

The place was built too small or too large for the party (Kobold made, Giant made, etc.)

♥ Magic is distorted here, and spells sometimes cause wild magic surges, or fail entirely

♥ This place has funhouse elements--slides, platforms, and silly, gamey rituals that must be overcome

These are hallowed/desecrated grounds, and as such the land has some effect on holy/unholy magic

♥ This is a malleable mirror/dream world, built by someone’s psyche

Party members swap bodies when they enter. Enjoy your new character sheet!

Inhabitants:

Local beasties have moved in and built nests

♥ A gang or cult has made this their base

The original host is long dead, but half-broken sentries still patrol...

Mimics everywhere

This place was built and guarded specifically to keep THAT THING contained...i.e. monster types with specific abilities and resistances

♥ There are prisoners who must be evacuated, and monsters which are best left alone...but which are which?

♥ Haunted by ghosts

Mostly/entirely abandoned, but prickling with traps and hazards

Note: There’s no reason you can’t mash a bunch from each list together. Have your ruined castle be on the moon. Have your magical library be a shifting labyrinth. Have your mine be harvesting mana from the bones of a long-dead magical creature. It doesn’t even need to make sense--maybe these catacombs were built like a funhouse by a lich with a strange sense of humour. Get weird with it!

My brother’s wonderful holiday one-shot got me inspired to add a little confusion and whimsy into my world, and so I pass my inspiration on to you. Have fun!

Hey so I'm a longtime league player and I gotta add, that there's more to Vi's amnesia storyline than her backstory writeup. Her having zero idea of her origins and that being something other characters in the game taunt her with and that Jinx is familiar with her despite Vi not seeming to return that familiarity — I think is all meant to show there are missing parts of her memory even if it’s in a different way than it will be in Arcane. 01/02

In LoL Vi is even implied to be some sort of lab experiment I think? Because she has always had her “VI” tattoo and it is the origin of her name. Blank spots in her memory are definitely part of her character - if they’re going to do it in Arcane it only seems that they wanted to do a different version of it with Vi getting the blank spots later on. 02/02

Ah! I knew I was missing some details regarding the memory loss thing. Thank you for pointing me to these things! I definitely forgot about that.

Yeah, I feel like the overarching idea behind Vi as a character in LoL is that she was separated from her sister in her early life and doesn't remember her childhood too well. She was an orphan raised in Zaun through street gangs, but it seems like something major happened between that and how she became an enforcer. It's alluded to with some of the things you're mentioning here.

It's still a cheap device used to fill in the gaps of her LoL storyline, in my opinion. Vi has a completely different story in Arcane and she has a lot more agency in it. The writers wouldn't wipe all of her emotional baggage for the sake of making her an enforcer. Ultimately, it will make sense for Vi to choose Piltover and she will do it while being fully aware of her past. But that's just how I see it!
