Basic ideas for the new Dominion au 2.0:

Lord Hater does not instantly fall in love with Dominator. In fact, its pure loathing for this chad version of hater, and at the "reveal", he stomps his feets malding at the fact she's ALSO totally hot ON TOP of already being a SUPER COOL AND SCARY AND AWESOME--it's NOT FAIR!!! WHY ARE YOU SO COOL?!?! And eventually that unbridled hatred and jealousy turns into..... oh. I think I like her. ....... (gasp) oh no. and it's probably a bit of manchildish antics of girl cooties being played on but really it's hater being insecure and being scared he (gags) likes someone. The same sort of the comedic flair they had with "the happies" and it being treated as a horror movie lol.

Wander doesn't try to ship Dominator WITH Hater but rather encourages Hater to be confident in himself for once, and encourages Hater to consider thinking about others for once (and possibly better himself by acting in a way that is considerate of others). But it goes awry as Hater is still ever so entitled. And Wander isn't setting Hater up for failure by having fun with him and teaching him how to be a good catch, there's plenty of lovely people out there that could be a good fit for a changed Hater, because even if this attempt doesn't work out, Hater can just try again, right? I mean it's about the adventure, not the destination! Wasn't that musical score fun to practice! Look at how much fun you are having without doing evil Lord Hater! Love and kindness CAN be a good thing!

Sylvia calls out Wander for it since one: UH both are evil villains so even if this worked wouldn't that make them a power couple??? ("Yeah but Sylv--" "Wander.") and two: who in the flarping galaxy would actually like Hater (as is) let alone does Wander even know IF Dominator likes guys??? I mean, she'd probably find all these goofy antics hysterical or something (considering her past interactions of giggle fits over these guys) but did Wander ever stop to consider that she maybe...? ("oh..." "Uh huh.") And how would she feel! bad. disrespected! And that's not the Wander she knows. The Wander she knows is kind and considerate and patient.

But Sylvia knows Wander's heart was in the right place even if he jumped in without thinking-- just like with the box Wander is being a bit compulsive. Wander was only trying to get hater to take the first plunge into kindness by using that care for another (romantic or platonic) to actually care about another person (not a pet, but an equal) FOR ONCE. Hater is just a bonehead who takes it TOO far and expects he can get whatever he wants since his self-loathing is puffing up his ego for being "the greatest" so of COURSE he will win and of COURSE he will get the money and fame and (insert cliche materialistic things) and get everything he ever desired-- I mean, Peepers promised him that, didn't he?!

--and then Hater gets utterly demolished whoopass-karma style as Dominator shuts it down barking laughter and viciously roasting him, shattering his heart and hopes into pieces. And it's written in a way where it's mean sure but also pretty funny because Hater is way off base, Dominator is just essentially the audience going "dude what? no, lmao." and Wander is going "oh no" as it finally dawns on him because he messed up MASSIVELY. Of course Dominator wasn't going to place nice--she came in rocking the badass villain train! And Wander tried to help: but was so focused on helping ONE person he didn't see the big picture. Wander needs patience with Hater, kindness is a strength because it's not easy.

Peepers is absolutely done with this lovey dovey good guy nonsense in the meantime, which pushes him further into the "peer pressure hater into doing galactic villainy" thing that would then get resolved in a "s3" team up with dominator a la original dominion au. I'm also writing the characters as if they are thematic representations of love and hate. Wander represents love of self and others (love is eternal, wise and knowing, knows no gender, and is not defined by romance etc), and Hater represents hate of self and others (blind hatred is immature, foolish-- use anger to fuel protecting what cherish instead of lashing out at the world. Be constructive, not destructive.). Hate and Love are two sides of the same coin: passion.

s1 was Hater dealing with Wander's antics (love is a little nagging feeling, warm and fuzzy, small but very scary) with Wander teaching that kindness is a strength and it never hurts to help! And Sylvia learns from Wander, as per originally intended of Sylvia being a bounty hunter turned good guy with Wander's influence. Not much to change save for "The Helper" not existing because ... Wander forcing himself on others is NOT what Wander is to me. Love cannot be forced. Wander listens, is patient, and even though he may have passionate desperate bouts because he just LOVES so dearly, he knows some semblance of boundary. He wants to be helpful but I dislike the idea he would ever truly force "helping" on others. It comes off as disrespectful and all about him--he's not helping to help he's helping to clear his conscience. And that's not love! That's not who Wander truly is (to me, at least). s2 is Wander trying to help but making it worse-- "it never hurts to help" is further explored, and it's a lesson about how things don't always work out but that doesn't mean you should quit--make it right and keep trying your best. Which means: LEARN from your mistakes, don't run away from them. And Wander learns from Sylvia this season instead of him teaching her. Instead of running away in fear that he'd make things worse (as per his past Wander doesn't like talking about) due to Sylvia helping, Wander sticks his ground for once. After all is said and done Wander apologizes and reintroduces Dominator to the galaxy. It's scary, it's hard--it's strength. But dominator isn't having it. She grabs the stupid friendship orange, and leaves in her own bubble. Wander feels guilt but he lives with it, finds peace with it, instead of ignoring it. Facing his fears, he and Sylvia return to the remaining group and... they don't shun Wander. Yeah he messed up but jeeze at least he tried, and he has done so many good things, it's the actions that count and it seems Wander has learned from it. No one is perfect. And Wander, like love, is not perfect and all about building with and learning from others.

s3: Dominator is rebuilding. Everyone knows that. Sylvia and Wander are sailing around the galaxy helping folks rebuild thier home planets and Sylvia is preparing for a coming storm. Meanwhile, Hater is being drawn towards healthier friends as Wander is a good influence on him. Peepers sees what's happening, and he mortified and doesn't know what to do. Hater is slipping away. Dominator is coming back with a vengeance. There's no way this will turn out well. So Peepers bites the bullet and tries what Wander did--because if it worked on the greatest Lord Hater he has to be onto something, but this time with tact, and tries to give Dominator a chance. And even if that doesn't work, at least Peepers can try and steer Dominator away from obliterating everything. Obliterating Hater. In the end though, Dominator and Peepers learn from each other and grow in thier own ways. Dominator isn't reformed but she is picky about who gets to play with HER toys. And perhaps after that some kind of supposed woy s3 spacecop thing? I can imagine the clockwork orange influence for Dominator works with that, that it's about the CHOICE. Doing good by being forced is not helping anyone. Choosing the right path is the only way to be truly good, that's why Wander only offers to guide, never force, people down the kind path. The freedom to choose matters because love is freedom, not chains. At the end of it all, endgame Dominator would end up being the first defense against galactic wide threats (like spacecops coming in and brainwashing people), but she's still not a hero doing "good guy" stuff with others. She's her own deal, badass and rockin it. Lord Hater would turn good guy and be the protector of the galaxy, doing active good in the communities and pulling off sick rock concerts with actual adoring fans. No force needed. Peepers ends up getting over most of his toxic complex, learns to laugh at himself more, and realizes he doesn't need to fight tool and nail for the right to exist, for the right to respect. Love is healing. And ever since teaming up with Dominator no one DARE questions his might, which is perfect! Meanwhile, Sylvia was a key driving force in saving the galaxy, her mama's so proud, and so Sylvia and Wander say long, heartfelt farewells as they journey on to the next galaxy and future adventures. Be be be do do do--do! The end.

The dominion au was for me to have some kind of wrap up story for dominator working off of canon bc frankly I wanted to see what the main plot was supposed to be. Maybe... there wasn't one. Oof. In kid cosmic we got kind of what I wanted to learn. Definitely got the messages they were trying to get at in WoY, or at least I think so. Fantos' lines in the finale really read as Dominator to me. Erodios felt like Hater's story in some sense. And Kid also had a story I think Hater's character embodied in some respects. A heavy past, dealing with loss, wanting to be a hero and make believe because it's easier that way. Chuck is very much peepers vibes and Papa G is very much Wander vibes. Perhaps Jo could even have some sense of the pressures Sylvia would face trying to lead a group of rag tag heroes. With that said, I have a system I use when dealing with media. 1: media is moral, I can enjoy and endorse it. (<Very rarely happens) I strictly adhere to canon for any fan content I make, as if trying to write for the series itself. 2: media is flawed but not extremely egregious, I can still enjoy it publicly and enjoy analysis. I adhere to canon for any fan content I make, but with additional edits or fan head canons added. Very much "fanfiction" area canon. 3: creators of media or the media itself is not moral, so I lean on fandom and fan canon. in essence: It's MY story now. lol. headcanons galore, I am not writing as if I were writing for the series at all. 4: Too mucked up, both creators and final product are immoral, I drop it. WoY I think for me has moved from 2 to 3. I guess I can rewrite s2 plot for the au lmao here we goooo

Looking at my childhood dreams… I wished some of them could carry on to completion.

Such as Wander over Yonder, Dexter’s laboratory (I wanted it to be a more creative rewrite fix so that it didn’t suck so badly) my life as a teenage robot (must’ve seen it at some point in time) and a few more. You would like me to mention Adventure Time but that series’s creator finished it so that’s not on the list. There are probably good childhood to shows out there that I must’ve missed from 2008 and onwards.

Been wanting to make this. I wanted to get a lot of reblogs out of the way for my bro Kaijuguy.

This is about my Resident Evil 7 and 8 rewrites, especially RE8.

Because I have talked with a friend about this. Who has been helping me with it. Don't expect those rewrites for a long while. Why is that?

The reason is because some reasons...and while I tried to explain it more that it wasn't the reason. And me saying I don't know if it's the biggest reason.

But when writing that RE8 rewrite. Including some of my earliest choices or so. And I have talked about having to dial down some of the choices.

The rewrite of Resident Evil 8 was really depressing me. Mainly because of some story elements and the themes of the story. And that I actually worry of being, "Diet Neil Druckmann". It really dampened my mood for a while. And my friend is understanding of whether I'm fatigued or not. That I hope I feel good about whatever decision I make.

So that's possibly one of the major reasons why I have been focusing on other shit like Owl House, and especially Wander Over Yonder. Something happened, and that happened. I felt like WOY was the biggest reason that shit changed. Also, I should maybe mention Courage. But it's Wander that changed everything.

Including I have been planning on focusing with other stuff. Which I have been doing with some crossover posts and characters interacting with each other. Question if I'll do more with some here.

But there are ideas I want to pursue and write...I don't want to speak about it much. It's the Resident Evil part I really wanted to talk about if anyone was interested in it. Because I felt that was important to tell you all.

anyways, yea, adventure time s1 retrospective (except rubys tired n will most likely rewrite this at a later time)

i remember the exact time when i first heard about this show. it was when i was watching recordings of the clone wars, and i remember seeing ads for this show. it was either of the show actually or this live action campaign where it was of a kid cosplaying as finn running around, asking everyone "WHAT TIME IS IT???"

so as you could tell from great advertising like that, i was hooked. and so was my mom actually!! this was one of my moms most recent fave cartoon shows (she also likes gumball, gravity falls, wander over yonder, star vs, amphibia, & the owl house; u can kinda notice a theme here over what channel she preferred)

but, yea, despite how childish the show was, i still. couldnt believe my 9 year old ears when i heard these cartoon characters on a kids show say "sexy" alot, i was really quite surprised about it back then!! and even now im a lil surprised, esp when u remember how cartoon network now isnt really like cartoon network 10 years ago

quick tangent, i always thought it was weird when in the second episode, lumpy space princess would yell "WHATEVER ITS 2009!" bc my braind would think "huh???? isnt it 2010, why didnt she say 2010???" bc thats when the first season started. of course, that was before i realized how long cartoon shows actually take to make

anyways, if you've been a longtime fan of adventure time, then its defo weird watching the first relatively chill and laid back first season again when you compare it to like. the fourth-fifth season and how intense they get (esp with the story)

anyways uhhhh season 1 both hold up incredibly well and have aged perfectly well. they're a relic of a long gone era of cartoons and internet humor, esp considering the og pilot was as popular as say. the infinity train pilot

my favorite episodes of the first season: the inagination one, really tons of fun. uhhh ig i liked the recurring jokes of the billy episode, and it had a p good moral. i liked how the neptr episode was one of the early episodes where they gave more depths to the characters

overall, rewatching season 1 was like a blast to the past, not only bc i remember watching these episodes as they aired, but i believe we also owned the first season on dvd. so my mom would just play it in the dvd player on our old minivan and we just saw that alot. which ig contributes to my nostalgia

and again, may i remind u, when this show started i waa like. 9 years old, and in 3rd grade

of course i was a big fan of it back then, and i still like it p well now. defo inspired alot about me, and of course. we all never couldve imagined how huge of a hit it would be

.... Honestly, I feel like there’s more that this list isn’t covering. Like Phineas and Ferb isn’t here and I wrote for that show too. And many of these can be simplified and condensed because they belong to similar fics.

Tropes: Depends on the fic. But as a whole, tend to write Romantic Comedies with a lot of slow burn. Mostly because... struggle is funny. People being dumdums and oblivious to the obvious is funny. Aaaaand also because it allows the episodic quality of shenanigans to occur.

Number of fics: Up and posted on AO3? 53. Does not include stuff on FF.net or that’s sitting in google docs begging to be finished.

Fic I spent the most time on: Not sure how to read this. Does it mean active man hours? Or does stuff like having a hiatus in-between count? Because TECHNICALLY ‘Real Value’ was started in high school, and I didn’t rewrite it and carry on the series (with Moonie) until many years later. There are also fics like ‘Growing Love’ or ‘Priorities’ that took a lot of time to do research. Like learning how to build a lawn mower so I could have a character believably break it apart for repairs.

....God I do a lot of research that doesn’t go into the actual fics. Because all I need, really, in the confidence of what I’m doing to be the character and describe an action here or there. 

Fic I spent the least time on: Probably something drabble related? Or maybe the fic I did that was just me venting out emotions because I was feeling guilty? ‘A Mother’s Intuition’ was written and posted within a couple of hours.

Longest fic: Complicated. The longest thing written is technically an RP, NOT a story. (Different, trust me.) ‘What Happens in Gotham’ has a word count of  207,413. But fic wise at 89,022 word would be ‘The Constant Gardener’ . 

Runner up being ‘Priorities’ at little over 87k.

Shortest fic: Drabbles? Uh, let’s see.. Probably from ‘Beauty and Your Worth’, as i think one was literally a paragraph long. ... Speaking of Gummi Bears, I wonder if I still have my notes on the GruffiGusto fic I wanted to write. Something to look into.

Most hits: Apparently ‘Fallen Hard’ at  5354

Total word count: 971,833 Oh hey! Almost a million. That’s something to celebrate.

Favorite fic I wrote: 'Knights of Dobenshire’. Hands down. (With ‘Heart of the Cards’ being very close.) I like writing road trip styled stories. It allows many things to happen within the narrative. BUT, ‘Knights of Dobenshire’ wins because it was such a satisfying conclusion of this build up, you know? Scrooge is finally no longer just putting up with the relationship with Fenton, but fully embracing it. That surprise feeling that hits him when he realizes, dear lord, he IS attracted to Fenton beyond affection. 

It hits me more than a mutual pining because there I KNOW they will get together. But here? While writing with Moonie? I DIDN’T KNOW! I was worried in the end we’d have to write another fic to finally reach that step. Scrooge is stubborn and does what he wants, let me tell ya.

Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: 'Fallen Hard’, ‘Season of Miracles’, ‘Going with the Flow’, pretty much anything that isn’t complete. BUT, not posted, I really want to get back to more of the stories planned in the McCrack series. It was a ship I kinda made from the ground up, with nobody caring about it in the beginning. So it feels very important to see that series through.

... Actually, I can share something from 'Donald’s Party (Working Title)’. @swampy-tiefling and I started. Just the first scene to get you guys hooked.

Donald took a deep breath of air from the doorway of the house and sighed, once again pleased to find himself at his home away from home. Traveling the seas and exploring the world with the navy were its own rewards, he supposed, but there would never be anything quite like the countryside-- the middle aged mallard having practically been raised on Grandma Duck’s farm. Donald Duck was happy to be on shore-- his naval carrier being docked for the week in Duckburg as they replenished supplies and took care of whatever repairs that were needed. Whatever excuse his bosses wanted to use were fine by him, he was just happy to not be scrubbing decks for a change!

That didn’t, however, mean he was able to rest and relax-- as the duck was startled out of his thoughts as somebody bumped into him. That somebody was his grandmother as she came to, just having caught her plate of cookies before they fell.

“My land, Donald! What in the world are you doing hiding here when you should be meetin’ and greetin’ the guests?”

Donald ignored the woman’s soft glare as he waved her off, using his other hand to steal a cookie in the process. Stuffing it in his mouth, he murmured out a response.

“Phooey, they’re just relatives.”

“Even more of a reason to go out and talk to them.” Before the sailor could argue, Grandma Duck placed the plate of treats into his hands. “And put these out on the snack table while you’re at it. Poor Fethry is looking peckish.”

Donald rolled his eyes, but otherwise did as he was told. Wasn’t it just like life to make him work at his own welcome home party? Walking towards the open yard where the party was taking place, it didn’t take long to reach the table, where his cousins were already gathered around as they chat.

This instantly caught the attention of the lankier duck, his gaze zoning in as he smiled widely towards Donald in greeting.

“Well if it ain’t the guest of honor, with snacks to boot!” Fethry leaned closer, his red hat wobbling with him as he continued to inquire. “Say, cuz, ya wouldn’t happen to know if these are gluten free, would ya?”

Donald gave him an unimpressed look. 

“You’re not going on another crazy diet, are ya?” Though, in all honesty, he was more worried his looney cousin might try to drag him along-- and after months of eating nothing but mush, he would NOT miss out on his first chance to pig out on actual home cooked meals.

"Not crazy at all, actually!" Fethry grinned that goofy grin. "See, it's all right here; Gluten Free; It's the Way to Be' !" he shoved a rather lengthy-looking hard cover book in Donald's face. Donald had no choice but to stare at it, the words all blurring together from its close proximity to his eyes. The offending object remained there for only a second, however, before it was yanked back, the nutty mallard already busy flipping through it.

"Let's see, here, there's a fascinating chapter I think you should-- Don?"

Phew, that had been close. Donald was still in sneaking away mode, and jumped and yelped when he was tapped on the shoulder. Oh no. He'd been caught, after all. He slowly turned, with a forced, toothy grin, to face his fate.

A wave of relief washed over him when he saw his girlfriend, Daisy, smiling sweetly at him, instead.

“And where do you think you’re sneaking off to, Mister? You’ve been gone for so long, and here we are, with you haven’t even given me a kiss ‘hello’ yet.” 

Now there was something Donald didn’t mind doing, as his girlfriend leaned in her face for her reward. Wrapping his arms around her, he planted the biggest of smooches to her temple. 

“Gaww, I’m sorry Daisy. I really did miss you.”

This earned him a soft smile, as it was Daisy’s turn to kiss him on the forehead.

“And I missed you, hun. Now, tell me… why WERE you sneaking around?”

“Grandma put me on entertainment duty.”

“Well, “ his girlfriend began, “it IS your party, after all. They came to see you, seems fair to me.” This made the sailor groan as she looked at him unsympathetically. Rolling her eyes, the reporter sarcastically patted her boyfriend in comfort. “There there. Now don’t go sneaking off for real, the boys will be arriving soon. And Grandma tells me Uncle Scrooge will be bringing along a special guest.”

“Special guest?” Donald asked incredulously. “Like who?” This caused Daisy’s eyes to glimmer all the more in mischief, a look that told him that she knew something he didn’t know. And that something was big news, if he was reading her right.

“Oh, nobody TOO special, I suppose,” Daisy was stalling, and it was driving Donald up the wall. The duck woman continued her teasing. “Nobody except your uncle’s new date friend.”

"Date friend?" Donald practically exclaimed, prompting Daisy's grin to grow all the more smug.

"Yep! You've missed quite a bit since you've been away, you know."

"No kidding...well I'll be..." Donald was shaking his head, but he was smiling. Uncle Scrooge, dating, at his age... it was nothing short of a miracle. It was about time, too!

"Meanwhile, why don't you go say hi to the rest of the guests? I know it's hard..." she rolled her eyes. "but at least make an effort, okay? Thanks, hun!"

Donald's heart fluttered as she smooched his cheek, and left. He glanced out over the yard, and saw quite a few familiar faces; Gus, Ludwig, Gladstone... heck, even Gyro Gearloose had shown up!

He sighed, but this one wasn't a sigh of pure despair. It did feel nice to be home, surrounded by people who most likely cared, and his nephews were even going to show up soon. Not to mention, he'd get to tease his uncle for finally taking his advice on the whole dating thing. 

That alone gave Donald the pep in his step he needed as he threw himself back into the party-- where he knew his crazed family would be waiting for him.

Mellissa originally was created for a wander over yonder fanfiction. Part of me wants to rewrite that story still but that would require re watching the whole show and I don’t have the energy for that. Originally her skin and eyes were because of experiments done on her since she was a baby.

I don’t have much planned for Mellissa in Learn to be yet but I do have her appearing as an unnamed background character once already. Her power is to manipulate shadows and make them physical. When she is upset the shadows lash out at anyone or thing around her. Because of this dangerous lack of control she is in section fifteen. Her skin, hair, eyes, and markings all come from her powers. The world is always too bright for her and the markings are painful indents of shadows pressed into her skin. Her power sucked the color out of her and focuses heavily on darkness. She is shy and timid and is often avoided by the other students for her strange appearance. I do think that Jason would have a high interest in her, but I'm conflicted on whether or not she would follow him.

In her original story she had a brother named Leo who had the opposite pattern. His eyes were bright white, his skin was dark black along with his hair and he only wore bright white. I have a hard time drawing him like that though, my line art doesn't show up. I haven't found a justification why his power would do that yet. Although the justification for her power doing that is pretty loose anyway so I dunno. His power to control and manipulate light would get him into section fifteen given that it tends to blind other people, and burn when it touches them. He has more control of his power than his sister and is very quiet. I haven't found any relevance for him in the story at all besides his safety being a big push behind Mellissa's actions.

Their parents are probably still scientists that ran experiments on them to test the limits of their powers.

Old WoY fics that I’m still proud of (+ commentary)

So yeah, it’s been a while since I’ve written really anything for WoY. Admittedly once the series ended, the tag slowed down, and new things like the Lego Batman Movie came out, I sorta lost interest. Though, after rewatching a few episodes (thank you Disney XD marathon ^v^), I’ve got WoY back on the brain. Hopefully I’ll be able to write fics for this show again soon, once I’ve finished some of my other planned fic projects/stuff I have to write for possible jobs. But until then, I just wanna take some time to look back on old WoY fics that I’m still really proud of and enjoy rereading ^v^ And, if you haven’t read these fics, consider this a personal recommendation list.

First up: Post Finale fics. Fics that focus on elements or ideas either based on stuff from ‘The End of the Galaxy’, or just take place after the finale epi.

Can’t Run - I really do love Hater’s “I can’t run if I want to be number one!” quote. Without that line from the first S2 episode, Hater’s dramatic turn around in the finale may seem like plot convenience or just something that came out of nowhere. But, similar to Wander, I firmly believe that with enough determination, Hater is able to accomplish anything. He’s certainly got the power and even intellect for it, he just needs that big push of either determination or genuine confidence. So yeah, I wanted to write this just to sorta fill in the gap between TEoTG’s opening scene and Hater’s big dramatic speech. I also wanted to write some more Hater and Peeps interaction, since it’s still a fun dynamic even if it’s not my favorite in the show. Rereading it, I feel like I could have maybe written Hater a bit better towards the end - maybe have him hesitate more before revealing what he was feeling - but otherwise I still like how it turned out.

Better - Another Post-Finale Hater fic, following the idea that after saving the Galaxy, Hater tries to do good (even if he’s reluctant to have the ‘good guy’ title). I like the idea of him struggling with this new identity as well as new goals, and who better to relate to this than a former bad guy? It really is too bad we couldn’t have more Syl and Hater interactions. I feel like they could not only be enjoyable to watch, but also interesting just to see. But yeah, writing their dynamic is fun, and after they pretty much saved each other in the finale, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t have at least one sit-down talk/positive interaction with each other.

Conventional Rerun - Aaaaand another Hater-focused fic, though more focused on his possible reformation than the finale itself. ...Can you guys tell which character I enjoy writing most? Lol. But yeah, I remember this idea hitting me pretty randomly one day while I was abroad. Basically I wanted to write a bunch of jokes around both conventions and Hater’s cartoon. Of course Hater just hates the thing, though I was able to imagine multiple reasons why, as well as figure how that hate could possible become a ‘love-hate’ relationship with his cartoon. Again, it sorta connects to Hater having fans and being considered a ‘good’ force in the Galaxy now, and basically not knowing how to take it. Hater may seem simple at times, but I really do feel like he’s got plenty of layers - both in how he thinks as well as how/what he feels. Also, a lot of show continuity and meta jokes in this one, also fun to write ^v^

Long Time No See - My reason for writing this? WHY DIDN’T WANDER AND JEFF INTERACT IN THE FINALE?! Lol, but yeah, the idea of exploring the feelings of a character like Jeff - someone who both had been ‘wanderized’ for a while and who had to deal with his new friend eventually leaving - was too interesting to pass up. Maybe not the most exciting fic, and I do kinda wish I could have done just a bit more with it, but still pretty fun to write ^v^

There’s also By Any Other Name which, while not really an episode based on the finale, still takes place after it, and explores an element I think any WoY fan’s interested in: Wander’s name. I was really hoping this fic wouldn’t turn out too long winded or exposition heavy or ‘deep’, which is why I made the set up for all the more thinky/exposition filled and emotional stuff so grounded (and relateable, considering I was also traveling while I planned out this fic). But I’m so proud of how it turned out in the end, having just the right amount of emotion and story, as well as some humor ^v^

Similarly, there’s Reset the Clock, though that one connects more to ‘The Waste of Time’ than the finale. Definitely not my favorite of the bunch even if it’s fairly well written, though I still like reading it occasionally simply because I like filling in the gaps between scenes/time in episodes like this one. 

Alright, next up: Minor Character Focused Fics! Because darn it, there are too many characters to love from this series! 

One Last Bite - This one I definitely have to put first, because the more I watched ‘The Fancy Party’, the more interested I was in Entozoa and Wander’s pasts. Once it was revealed that Wander was possibly immortal, the fact that Entozoa specifically wanted to take over his body just made even more sense. So, I wrote a fic focused on the two of them, both because I thought it’d be interesting to explore the relationship between two practically immortal characters, but because I couldn’t get the image of Possessed-by-Entozoa!Wander fighting the others and speaking like Malachite from SU out of my head. The latter half of this fic was so much fun to write ^v^ I also feel like I did a decent job writing Wander’s final conversation with Entozoa (and considering that I sometimes struggle with dialogue, any time I can do it well I consider a success). 

Tiger in Kitten’s Clothing - I LOVE LITTLE BITS! ...Then again I pretty much love every minor character from this show but still, she’s one of my favorites ^v^ Her rivalry with Syl and the sort of irony that can come from it can also be interesting and fun to think about. I also really love the imagery I was able to do with this one. So yeah, maybe just a simple character piece with not a ton of story but eh, I still love it ^v^

Breakout and Blindly Looking Out - Two Ryder stories that, despite the first one being more Syl focused, still very much connect with each other. Maybe this is just me totally falling for Ryder’s charm, but I firmly believe that he isn’t a terrible person, despite doing some pretty terrible things. So, this was just my attempt at fleshing him out and giving some motive for his actions, as well as giving some backstory for his relationship with Syl. I like how both of them turned out, but I feel like Blindly Looking Out is the stronger one. 

Freezing Warmth and Helmet and Sword - Another pair of fics, this time focusing on Hater, Prince Cashmere and Peepers. It’s always a fun challenge to write interactions for characters who have never really interacted before. Pretty sure this one was both inspired by RPs/conversations between me and Tessa as well as Hater and Cash’s brief interactions in ‘The Rager’. Adding in elements like Hater learning swordfighting and Peepers being sort of jealous just made it all the more enjoyable to write and reread. Again, I enjoy the latter story of this duo more, but I still really like how Freezing Warmth turned out ^v^ 

Crashing Waves - AKA the first fic in the Awesome Arc series. Like Ryder, I really do love Awesome despite his jerkiness. Though, if there was a downside to this character, it was that he never really got a ton of development or was super interesting (though still pretty fun to watch) until ‘The Rival’. So, this was my attempt to sorta fill in that possible character development, as well as just use the excuse to put a bunch of my Awesome headcanons in a story. Peepers and Hater also get a bit of the spotlight in these stories, which I don’t mind at all ^v^ If anything, it just makes the series feel more whole. I really do hope I can finish this series one day.  Maybe it’s a bit too dramatic or angsty at times but eh, with something like PTSD and changing your whole identity, that’s sorta to be expected. 

Peace - A quick look at Ripov, as well as a bit at Beeza and their possible relationship with each other. Maybe a bit rambley in places but, eh, I still like it ^v^ (and still ship it, lol) 

Don’t Fence Me In - Another Jeff fic! Again, sorta focusing on being kind of left behind after being ‘wanderized’, though thankfully it turned out more bittersweet than angsty. To this day, I still consider it the best Jeff-focused fic I’ve ever written.

There’s also Admirable Interstella that focuses on The King of Sherblorg 7 and Stella Starbella that... I don’t hate persay but, I don’t love either. If anything, I’m more just proud that I was able to write something for such a strange idea and actually have it make sense and flow decently. Though, I do wish I could have managed to make it shorter. 

But speaking of ships... Iiiiiiii have a lot of shipping fics, lol. Much more than I could list and still keep this post at a reasonable length. Most of them are for Wander x Hater but I have written plenty for Syl x Peeps, Hater x Syl, canon characters and OCs, etc. Surprisingly, even the old ones or the ones for pairings I don’t ship much anymore I’m still pretty proud of. Now, before I end this post, there’s still one fic I want to mention. My longest WoY project to date (and probably ever): Rockin’ Over Yonder

This fic... Ohhhhh boy this fic. Even without it having the personal baggage/behind the scenes stuff that I don’t really want to go into, I’d STILL probably have a love/hate relationship with this fic. For one, it was written before Season 2, so there are just soooooooo many elements that I could either rewrite or add in if I cared to. There’s also plenty of pretty cheesy or cliche moments in it that came from just me still being pretty new to writing fics as well as getting used to writing the WoY characters in general. So yeah, there’s a lot to not like...

But at the same time, there’s a lot I can’t help but love. Some scenes I really like, with some scenes that I can’t help but look at and think “Wow... I actually managed to write something like that?” There are some scenes and lines that I just absolutely loved writing, scenes that I can STILL perfectly picture in my head even after all these years. Maybe I missed out on including Dom and other S2 characters, but I still managed to fit in plenty of great S1 characters. And finally, what I love about this story the most is that I actually managed to do a good job writing and slowly developing the romantic relationships between the various characters/pairings. 

So, despite the stuff I dislike about Rockin’ Over Yonder, the stuff I may be embarrassed about or the semi-related bad memories that may pop up when I think of this fic, I still can’t help but be proud of it, with part of me wanting to remember it. Honestly, along with Phineas and Ferb and maybe Regular Show, Wander Over Yonder probably inspired me the most in terms of ideas and fanfics - especially towards the end of it’s run. I’m grateful to WoY for inspiring me to write and think and analyse so much (along with all the other things it did for me, including introducing me to my best friend). The show may be over and I may be writing for other fandoms, but I don’t think I’ll ever truly forget these fics or the show they were inspired by ^v^

Star vs. the Forces of Production Numbers and Storyboard/Director Rotation (Season 1)

Disney Television Animation’s production number system is very unique.

Back then you had a 4 number system (4301-, 4306-), followed by the episode number starting from (001, then 002, etc.) Shows like Gummi Bears, Ducktales, and Talespin.

Then in the 2000s, you have three letters, 1 number, followed by the season number and episode number. (SSSS-YEE) (S = Series number, Y = Season, E = Episode)

For example, Phineas and Ferb is 631D, Gravity Falls is 618G, 345W is Wander Over Yonder, 755P is Penn Zero, and...

474S is Star vs the Forces of Evil.

Rewriting Lord Dominator

I’m glad to know that there are other WOY fans out there with WOY AU’s where they’re trying to flesh out Dominator as a character more. Of course I would’ve still continued with my rewritten Dom anyways but it feels encouraging in a way to know other people feel like Dominator could’ve been treated better. Plus sometimes it can be creatively inspiring for me to see how other people would reimagine a character in an AU, which is the main thing I like about this.
