If Timmy struggled with adjusting to magic because he was raised on earth, does that mean this is the reason Peri also struggles? Since in his early years he grew up on earth with his parents?

Yup! There's a multitude of reasons why Peri struggles so much, but they all lie in his origins. Peri was born from a wish! And Wishes, well. They're not meant to last long. Most wishes become unstable as the years go by, but Peri's persisted because he's an entire living being!

CosWan initially feared Peri wouldn't grow up properly, but he turned out nearly as fine as any other Fairy would! Probably!!

Growing up on Earth, being related to the VonStrangles, born from a 10 year old's wish, living past the lifespan of wishes, beyond that of humans... Each part is rather small, but when added together, it culminates into a very... very unstable baby.

Obviously next week could prove this all dead-wrong, but I don’t think the trial’s quite over. I don’t believe the end of that episode actually took place, because I’m pretty sure we’re still firmly in the “punish Agatha” phase. Rio’s suddenly gone. Alice seems to be dead by Agatha’s hand, and no one—including Teen, who has always been on her side—seems primed to believe she was out of control. The others have been sucked beneath the power of the surrogate son who not only just told Agatha to fuck off, but went full-Wanda to do it. It just all seems too tailored to cut up any of the character progress Agatha’s made on the Road thus far. Getting harassed by her ghost mother and hearing her son’s voice don’t feel like a complete tear-down. This does. It feels like more trial.

The more I think about the finale of A New Wish, the more I can’t help but think it’s going to play out as a tragedy. That Dev & Hazel will be cemented as rivals, or their friendship will be a bittersweet “what could have been”.

Dev is a tragic character. He is a product of his environment, and he acts accordingly. And those actions will almost definitely have consequences. I can’t help but wonder “what if he loses Peri”?

Would really hammer in the fact that fairies and wishing cannot help every kid.

Magic hasn’t exactly been good for Dev, it’s been making him worse with every new piece of information he finds out. Dev makes a lot of empty wishes, chasing a fleeting feeling of happiness, because the only thing he really wants- his Dad’s love -is something he can’t wish for.

I think the finale is going to be Dev’s moment of “flying too close to the sun”, and we’ll see him fall. He’s offered a supporting figure, and it’s still not enough, because it’s not the one he wants.

And as a result, he loses everything. His fairy, and his friend. And even after all that, he’s still not got his father’s love.

(Regarding Hazel’s rule free wish- I feel like it’ll be used to save Fairy World in some regard.)

This is all theorising, and I could be proven wrong ! I would LOVE a happier ending for Dev, because I do think he deserves friends, and a support system. Perhaps they could explore that in a second season, if we end up getting this tragic route.

Damn, Creepy Nuts really knows how to create bangers after bangers. First, Bling-Bang-Bang-Born and now Otonoke??? I'm gonna be dancing to those songs for a while lmao.

Sidenote: I do want to watch Dan Da Dan, but gotta finish the FOP rewatch first lol.

I've noticed that both of these series do have something similar..., like having supernatural creatures such as aliens and ghosts (maybe that's more Danny Phantom lol), the wacky slapstick humor character interactions, and some eldritch horror (in a way)... Hmm, it really does coincide with what I felt about FOP and the Victorian AU I'm collabing with keyintheeye-blog currently lmao.

Although, Dan Da Dan is obviously more mature and raunchy in its humor (as usual with anime). I won't really recommend it to anyone who's not comfortable with sexual jokes or is not used to the kind of storytelling that anime usually has.

Still, I've just felt inspired by how amazing the anime's presentation was so far, mixed with what I'm doing currently, and so, that's how this spawned lol. I do think it needs something more, but I don't know what to add truthfully. Plus, I still can't go snooping around and see the wonderful fanarts the others have created online, so I'll just post these as compensation for being so busy lately. I need to sleep actually, but there's another post I want to do before signing off again. <I'll do that later on this day.> (There's more of my thoughts in the image alt text.)

Mother effing Spongebob being the only full-grown adult (if you don't count Cosmo and Wanda, who can't really do anything anyway because their magic is on the fritz) in the Nicktoons Unite gang is, objectively, the funniest thing about the crossover and I don't think the Fandom does enough with it tbh

Cuddle pile!!! Once, Peri brought home a stray Furby. It brought the entire house into chaos as the Furby went feral on them. It took sacrificing Cosmo to it for the Furby to calm down.

It spat him out eventually, but the house was a wreck afterwords. Wanda refused to let Timmy or Peri keep it as a pet, thinking (rightly) that they're not ready for one. Cupid took the Furby off their hands afterwords.
