JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. In the Bible story leading up to this event, Jesus is asked by a synagogue official named Jairus to come heal his sick daughter. On the way, Jesus gets stuck in a big crowd, and by the time He makes it to Jairus's house, his daughter is dead. The folks there mourn until Jesus tells them the girl is just sleeping, then they ridicule Him. He tosses them out, and brings only the girl's parents and a few of His disciples inside. Then He takes the dead girl's hand and orders her to rise, and she comes back to life. Lastly, He asks that she be brought something to eat. 2. In this cartoon, we just see the part where Jesus calms Jairus's despair and brings the girl back, but instead of taking her hand, Jesus pokes her cheek. She comes back to life, though groggily, so He pokes her again and tells her that she has to get up. This interaction is based off my entire childhood of either waking up or being woken up by siblings. "Poke, poke, you have to get up, poke, poke, Mom said so, poke, poke."

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is yet another "Tomics Resurrection," where I've taken an old cartoon, pale and still with death, and poked it until its color and breath returned. Like last week, this is a cartoon that's about a decade old now, and well overdue for a tune-up in my current style. In general, the last three panels remained the same in terms of dialogue and framing, with only the character designs and colors being updated. In the first panel, however, the original had a doctor scolding Jesus, while the resurrected version has Jairus, the girl's father, mourning for her. Jesus's smiling response to the doctor in the original is hence replaced with a very sober response to the sad father, and the dialogue is adjusted to reflect the new tone. How does it compare?

i was thinking about the sleep deprivation thing that cults do and something i completely forgot about with regards to that conversation is that the sleep needs of children/teens are different to adults. it's a range as most things are, but when it comes to sleep you HAVE to go based off the biggest number to ensure everyone gets proper sleep because you cannot function properly without proper sleep

so, if you were a teenager who went to church camps and they allowed for less than 10 hours of sleep, or if you were a kid (6-12) and they allowed for less than 12 hours of sleep, you very well may have been sleep deprived, either intentionally or unintentionally

and as a little bonus: adults tend to respond to sleep deprivation with tiredness, but kids tend to respond with hyperactivity, and even one night of sleep deprivation can affect someone

I don’t understand how some “Christians” are able to vote for Kamala despite the fact she clearly showed that Christianity was not to be a part of her rally.

In that moment, the moment she said “you’re in the wrong rally,” her true colors showed through. She has communicated that she does not wish to associate with Christians, so why root for her? She made it clear she does not wish to follow Jesus, so why try to elect her? She made it clear she does not wish to uphold God’s Word, the Word that tells us to value the truth, love, compassion, community, and peace, so why trust her?

If she doesn’t value truth, why believe her words? If she doesn’t value love, compassion, or community, why believe her when she says she’ll bring Americans together? If she doesn’t value peace, why believe her when she says she’ll take care of the violence and wars?

She showed us her true colors, so why believe her when she claims these things that have no/very little value to her? It makes no sense to me how someone can look at her and believe, as a true Christian in their hearts, that she is on God’s side with you, when yet she has made it very clear she doesn’t care about you or God.

I think I'm gonna speak for a lot of Anarchists when I say this... stop trying to shove us in political boxes. Anarchy, by definition, is the REJECTION of those political boxes.

Do I see the Republican general view on some issues? Yes. Do I agree with the liberal mindset on other issues? Yes.

That doesn't make me Democratic OR Republican. That doesn't make me left wing, right wing, liberal or conservative.

It makes me a person with a conscience, moral code, opinion and belief. It makes me human. For the love of Jesus Christ of Nazareth PLEASE stop trying to categorize it and categorize me. People are so much more than labels, stereotypes and titles.
