Happy Audio Drama Sunday! I did a separate post earlier this week with my notes on the first part of my listen through of S3 of The Ways We Haunt Now, and the Pasithea Pandemonium bracket tournament of all the Pasithea Powder episodes is still ongoing! It's been so fun getting to gush about all their fantastic episodes!

@hinaypod Episode 52.1 - Winter Market: Okay that was too cute! Mari and Danny bonding time was so nice, and I'm sure such a relief for Danny. Finally someone he can talk to about all this! "He didn't know before but he understood now." And then the ring on the straw angel!! The emotions Mari could feel coming off of it! I'm a little scared for upcoming episodes because we have gotten so much sweetness and there's no way this can last... ✨

@vestaclinicpod Episode 20 - Haemohalter: Oh no, someone got bodily fluids on the special boy! That whole situation sounds like a nightmare to clean up. Rai is GETTING IT. Dang, Xael is a pro at not answering questions! I'm very suspicious about those lab alarms now though...do we think it has anything to do with the prof? Is his consciousness somehow hidden within the lab or something? I'm also worried about the clinic, with so many things in need of repair. Glad the engineer was able to come in to service everything (also you know she's gonna burn a hole in her nose sometime in the future while trying to self-cauterize). ⚕️

@kingmakerpod Chapter Twenty-Nine - Diminishing Returns: Ohhhh boy, there's no way this shrinking business is going to end well, right? Oh lord, those bonedrinker shrews sound horrifying. Okay, new horrifying thing, Culver and Crowley together. They are too well suited for each other...good for them. Giant bonedrinker shrews?! Wait, those instead of Corgis at the palace?! The Titanic?! Contact with the Kehrseite! Three Good Neighbour spies... So much was happening this episode! And the sound design was spot-on. Incredible. 💎

@monkeymanproductions' Waiting For October S1 Episode 6 - To The Mountain: Solo adventure time for Yvonne! The banter between her and Grey, and then with Bergen is great. Yvonne's full backstory is heartbreaking. The sound design of the mountain, the Bolter, Bergen, and the Kaiju are all fantastic. And hearing Bergen's perspective on living in a story world was so interesting. It's becoming clear that Karo is a very important part of October and I'm looking forward to finding out why. 🎃

Audio Drama Sunday - 19th January

I’ve been working on so much Vesta stuff this week ahead of the release of season 2, but I still found time to listen to some top notch audio drama! 🥰

🦋 @remnantspod (24) Um, so I’m going to be honest and admit that I listened to about 5 minutes of this episode, realised who it was about and what was about to happen and then got my wife to check the content warnings for me before tactically retreating. I might try again next week or read the transcript when I’m feeling more mentally robust!!

🎃 Waiting For October by @monkeymanproductions (3.5) Aw, I feel strangely fond of Auncle Lantern!! I loved all the growing metaphors!! There’s nothing better than thinking you can close a book and leave a story in the pages then realising it’s got its roots in you! 

🧋 @hinaypod (27-30) I felt like Hi Nay really powered me through this week! What a crazy arc that was!! Yet again, I was so upset at having to listen to Mari cry :( pls stop doing this to me!! I loved the twist in Mikey’s tale, revealing his guilt all these years. And, oh my god, Donner name reveal!!!! It’s very suspicious that two Mikey’s have had trouble in the same house. Imagine how different the story might be if an Elder had rescued Donner instead. And, OMG, unless my ears deceive me (which I can’t lie, they often do) YORKSHIRE DOOLEY??? Obsessed. If anything happens to him I will kill everyone in this room etc etc 

🍾 @ameliapodcast (41 + epilogue) I loved hearing these funky Panaraguans finally hash out their differences and come to a mutually beneficial agreement!! This season has had such a fun overarching narrative, but I’m SO excited for the gang to get back together. Imagine hearing Alvina and The Interviewer bickering again. It’ll be music to my ears. 

🌵 @desertskiespodcast (8) Ooh we got some serious Sphere Lore in this episode. I’m particularly side-eyeing the brief glitch that Tendy had after going back into what appeared to be pre-death memory, surely that doesn’t mean anything? Right? Surely…

@vestaclinicpod Episode 19 - Trouble Some: The first of this season's episodes inspired by a listener submission, and also our first Dr. Xaelest Adra episode! And it was so good!! I absolutely love how we slowly learn more about the patient and its species as the case notes unfold. We also got a tiny bit more info about Xael herself, from her response to exam re-sitting to recollections about Pasiphae. I want to know more though, like what was the examiner's feedback?? And poor Xael, not having a special boy like Sec to help out! ⚕️

@hinaypod Episode 52 - Pangalan (Name): It was very interesting to hear the Benefactor's perspective of Manfred's story about Clarence Thompson, and the moment that made the Benefactor choose to erase his face and name. I'm kind of glad we're starting to get some warmer weather here because the thought of what was in that blizzard is a little terrifying. The descriptions we've heard so far make it feel like some kind of divine retribution, but also the actual punishment here seemed way too...meticulous for a god.✨

@forgedbondspod - Chapter 11: It's wedding time!! It was so sweet hearing Aph and Ares getting ready together. And again how excited Aph (and then Ares) was about the knives Hephaestus made for them. I wanted to strangle Zeus the whole time he was talking, ngl. Their vows were lovely, though Aph crying made me so sad. 💍

@kingmakerpod Chapter Twenty-Eight - In With the New: I think I've said in the past how I was curious about Holzmann's plans, and boy was that curiosity fed with this episode! I'd have to go back through the episodes, but is this the first one without an appearance from any of our main trio? It was an absolutely wild day, so many assassinations and machinations. And then the weapon reveal! Things are getting serious... 💎

@monkeymanproductions' Waiting For October S1 Episode 5.5 - Grey: I really like how these monologues sometimes involve bigger scenes. With Charlene and Auncle Lantern, it felt like we were the trainee and part of the new crop, both of which I loved. But with Raven, Frederick, and now Grey, we also get to hear them interact with other characters and parts of their world. It was also very cool to hear more about Grey's life, as well as the different things weres need to consider for city living vs. forest life. 🎃

I found time to listen to a variety of shows this week and enjoyed them so much!!

🌲 @hellofromthehallowoods (172) AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! So many character returns this week!!! I don’t want to ruin the wonderful surprise by saying names but !!!! !!! !!!!!!!! We are SO BACK BABY. Also it was so interesting to more of an insight into how The Count’s powers work! … Does the Countess have this too?? 

🧳 Travelling Light @monstrousproductions (40) ohhh this season finale delivered everything I could have wanted 😭 I adored the Traveller / Óli reunion and the fact that they’re now going to travel together as I was so worried this was going to be goodbye and I don’t think my heart could have handled it. As an owner of green cord dungarees, let me tell you, I am feeling so smug in my fashion choices right now hehe. What a lovely farewell to the Tola and S1 - I can’t wait for more ❤️

🎙️WTNV (257) Such a fun episode, I always love hanging out with the men who are neither short nor tall. I also loved the return of the of the Kia Sportage joke - had to explain to my friends in a quiet cinema why I was giggling so much at the pre-film trailers when they were advertised the other week. 

🧋@hinaypod (22-23) Damn, what a story. I didn’t think that the Elders had truly been at war but it certainly seems that way!! Turning everyone you know into a puppet except your girl crush is wild behaviour 😭😂

🥾 @doyoucopypod (205-207) ooooof not the confessions of love right before a cave collapse - yikes. And Blair and Sarah never got to work it out ☹️

🍾 @ameliapodcast (33) Alvina backstory!!!!! I truly love her. I am Amelia, I see an insane woman and I just have to have her on the team. Every scene they’re in together makes me so happy and I kind of love that they’re in a cellar getting drunk while the Interviewer is in the air in a plane full of bugs. 

🌨️ @thewhitevault (12) This show continues to be SO good. I felt something off about the new Iffie immediately. Just thinking about it sends a shiver down my spine. Who/what is she?? 

🎃 Waiting For October by @monkeymanproductions (Prologue + 1) This is such a fun world already! I knew I’d love Charlene and she did not disappoint hehe. So fun to hear so many familiar voices again and I’m so excited to see where this tale leads!
