Tearrors being the result of the excitation of the Fold inside a person WOULD explain why tearrors seem reactive to the disposition of the person they act on. Vesta Sterling, so concerned about living up to her family name and expectations, got sterling silver marks all over one side of her body. Fiona Rue, scared that no one loves her and lacking support from her fiancé got the highly empathetic and caring Jacob as one of her legs. Moc Weepe, formerly known as Willey Swinzey, who was so convinced he was simply a monster who could only do bad things became a mindless monster in the end.

I'm going to need 5-10 business days to mull over the fact that humans in the Midst cosmos have Fold infused into their very bodies and that this Fold is essential for life. Given that having it siphoned out of them resulted in the Granddaughter feeling an unnatural state of tranquility and emotionlessness the presence of Fold in a person seems to be related to that in some way. Which does track with Dark Sonia in Moonward claiming she exists in the deepest fears and most emotionally painful memories of all people, if emotion itself is inexorably linked to the presence of Fold in a person. Much to consider.

God the thing about Phineas and Jonas's dynamic in season one that makes it so insane-making (and unfold so badly) is that what Jonas thinks he has is a mild-mannered assistant with social anxiety who just needs a little more confidence and chill to really shine, when what he in fact has is a traumatized attack dog on a short leash who is ready to snap the second he feels even the slightest amount of slack. With social anxiety.
