Okay, I have an idea. Gotta admit, first, I haven't watched most of Chicago PD (or Med but that's not relevant here. I've seen all of Fire). I was already in love with the Halsteads and now I've fallen in love with Mouse as a character. I also fully blame @kitweewoos and @gregorygerwitz for that. And I'm not sure if y'all's hc of Mouse's parents being rich and having disowned him is just a hc or somewhat implied in canon, but it's fully canon in my brain.
Alright. My idea. When Mouse starts to get restless being part of the unit, his initial thought is still reenlisting because that's familiar. And Voight tightening the fucking leash just totally reconfirms the need to get out. But then for some reason or another. (maybe Moustead happens and he can't bring himself to leave Jay even if he has to leave the unit. Maybe he gets to talking to Severide or Hermann or any of our 51 firefighters at Molly's.)
He starts looking into the CFD. He would still need his record cleared. But even if Platt had had hesitation, uh clearing his record so he can join the fire academy? *(calls Mouch)* Babe, I got you a veteran to join the cfd! He already comes with a nickname!
And so Mouse signs up for the next like available opening in the academy. And with a sus amount of luck *(side eyes Sargeant Platt)*, his number's called the same year. He's hopeful. The lack of gunfire is a relief as much as a bummer, but it's not a deterrent. And he isn't 100% sure how he'll do if he gets too close to explosion or gets a serious injury, but he'd have that same uncertainty overseas, just extra likely. And, of course, Jay is thrilled. Voight isn't, but he also isn't acting as much like a toddler because he has to respect the CFD. But Jay's thrilled that Mouse isn't trying to put himself through That™️ again. He feels guilty for a bit when he thinks maybe Mouse dropped the reenlisting idea just to placate him, but Mouse tells him it was just his first idea.
So Mouse goes through the fire academy, fucking excels. The soldier-like bits are like coming home. This he knows. This he can do. Sure, he might need to fill his free time with stuff to use his tech skills so boredom never leads him to hack the wrong shit while tipsy, but he would've done that anyway. He's not even opposed to helping out the unit, but only when they actually just can't figure it out themselves.
Fresh out of the academy, he obviously becomes a candidate at Firehouse 51. Do they need one right now? Don't care. They're getting Mouse. They need a new stray, and he needs a bigger family than just Jay and Will via Jay. Okay, I just checked the timeline, and Mouse's last CPD episode was conveniently at the same time as Jimmy Borelli's uhhh incident 🔥🫠 in October 2016. So, 51 does, in fact, need a candidate. 🫢😅
Humor in the tags. But seriously. Mouse can't decide if he absolutely hates them trying to include him in stuff (because past experiences say this is a lie and they wanna lure him into a false sense of security before being shit, despite the fact they've never individually given him bad vibes before) or desperately wants to do good to feel like he deserves them.
This part specifically applies to the Gerwitz-family-being-rich hc: It doesn't take the house long to piece together Gerwitz, and that Mouse isn't involved in his parents' lives. But you know Otis. Otis is Otis. Mouse is a candidate. So naturally, he's gonna joke about it. Mouse is fine at first, just acts like he didn't hear him or just glares or walks away, and everyone else has the decency not to laugh if it's the latter two reactions. Otis continues. Until one day, he jokingly implies nepotism. Mouse stops him in the locker room. "Listen, funny guy. I get this. The hazing is part of the job. It's fine. And you have plenty of material to work with. You wanna joke about my service, my addiction, working for the intelligence unit, my friendship with Jay? I don't care. But you make another crack about nepotism like my parents gave a single fuck about me after I wasn't their perfect little socialite? Like I wasn't fully disowned and cut off? That's a fight you won't win, Zvonecek." And his pronunciation of Otis' last name being perfect is oddly the sticking point for him. Otis is a bit butt hurt for a few days, but accepts the honesty and threat as good enough reason to back off on that topic.

Gala - Kelly Severide
Pairing: Kelly Severide x voight!reader
Word Count: 1.1k+
Warning: misogyny, swearing, allude to s*x, drinking,
A/N: when i wrote this i thought it was so cringe so i tried to lessen it a bit.
Masterlist / One Chicago Masterlist
The annual police gala. Something everyone dreaded but was very much needed in order to fund your workplace. The whole night consisted of sucking up to rich people while trying not to lose your cool. The only good thing about it was the food and open bar, they would go all out to try and keep you guys happy.
You attended this gala more times then you would have liked to. You were always your dad's date, being pictured as this family man always did the trick; you never minded as you'd always get something in return. Whether that be a new toy or cash. Now for the past couple of years you were here as a member of the department, member of your father's task force.
To help you endure the long hours of being fake you brought Chicago's favorite fireman, Kelly Severide. It actually wasn't your idea, but his. After attending the fireman gala he offered to come support you knowing how boring it could get. You were grateful he was willing to spend his night off with you. He didn't care as long as he was with you and as long as he can rip the dress right off of you when the both of you got home.
"Very bold there with the red." Hailey said as you, Kelly, and your dad started to walk to where the team was waiting.
"I look hot, I shouldn't get any complaints from the highers ups." You smiled, your matching red lips curving up into a smirk. The rest of the team along with Kelly laughed at your comment, Kelly squeezing your hips telling you he 100% agreed.
"You look beautiful darling." Your dad said as he was the only one who didn't laugh at your comment. He will always see you as the little girl who would wear these pink poofy dresses to the gala.
"Thanks dad."
"So did anyone find our table?" You asked earning headshakes from everyone.
"Well, let's go and find it to start this wonderful night we're going to have." You sarcastically said as you pulled Kelly with you inside the ballroom leaving your laughing co-workers behind.
The night went on like normal, kissing ass while being bored on the inside. You were used to it by now, but still dread it. Kelly was the best arm candy you could have brought. Along with being the perfect gentleman, he was your selling point, like how you were your dads. Apparently, people loved first-responder couples. Kelly found it amusing and kept in mind to use the tactics you used for his firefighter gala.
After dinner, it was party time for the department. Most sponsors and donors left after dinner, so this was everyone's chance to lay back while dancing their little hearts away. You and the team took advantage of this as they hired a legit DJ. By this point with the amount of alcohol in their systems, they let loose being themselves contrast to the professionals a few hours ago. You wouldn't believe these were the same people.
After what seemed like the 20th song, Kelly decided to go to the bathroom while you and your teammates decided to joining your dad at the bar to hopefully sober yourself up with some water or soda. While everyone was laughing you noticed Kelly was taking longer the usual, looking in the direction of the bathrooms you saw him walking in your direction seeming pissed off, something definitely happened.
"What's wrong baby?" You asked leaning more into him so only he could hear you.
"Nothing, just some tipsy guys." He said with a smile not wanting the mood to be brought down.
You decided to let it go for now. He really didn't want to ruin the mood so you weren't going to by asking him. After passing him your soda you feel back into conversation with the rest of the team along. Laughs and jokes were mainly shared, none of you were in the right mind to tell a story. In the middle of one of Adam's jokes you felt Kelly tense. When you looked up to him following his gaze to two men in uniforms, who looked to be patrol officers at most. You didn't understand the tension until they decided to walk by you.
"Miss spoiled brat." One of them spat out looking at you before trying to walk away but Kelly's voice stopped them in their tracks.
"Didn't I tell you to keep her name out of your mouth," Kelly called out making the whole team quiet, thankfully the music was loud enough to not draw any other eyes.
"Does baby voight need her fireman boyfriend to help her like how you needed him to help you clim the ranks, the last name wasn't enough." An officer name with he last name Jones said making everyone's eyes pop out of their socket. These insults were nothing new, you didn't mind them but no one had the balls to say that in front of your dad.
"Want to repeat that officer?" You heard your dad saying stepping out into their view, their smirk dropping in a second while they turned pale. So they didn't have the balls to say it in front of him, they just didn't know he was there.
"You know what, it's so funny that people think I give two shits about what they think of me. So what if my last name and the person I'm fucking got me in my position. It's not bothering me, it's not bothering my coworkers, sure as hell ain't bothering the higher-ups. So the last person it should be bothering is you. You can keep sitting there complaining about where I'm at instead of working to get to my position. I'm here living my best carefree life proudly wearing the Voight name, soon adding the Severide name. Now gentlemen please enjoy the rest of your night and don't talk to me again unless it's for a job." You smiled at them watching them grow uncomfortable as they rushing away.
"Holy shit that was awesome." You heard Kim saying making you smirk.
"Did you see their faces once they saw Voight." Jay started dying laughing along with the rest of the team, you joining in.
"Severide and Voight were about to kill them in a second I swear." Kevin added.
"Now that's my girl." You heard your dad say pulling you into his side kissing your forehead.
"That has to be the hottest thing I've ever seen you do." You heard Kelly mumble into your ear making you smirk.
"You sure about that, cowboy?" You teased making him growl.
"One of the hottest things." He corrected making you let out a little giggle.

“Loud and Wrong”
Characters: Kevin Atwater x Black!Reader.
Summary: Kevin and wifey have a minor disagreement.
Warnings: Fluff and a dash of spicy talk.
Word Count: 2,000+.
A/N: Well, lovelies. I've been having sleepless nights lately. Dealing with some ish. Life be life-inggg and it's keepin' my ass up at night *le sigh*. Tired of my mind racing. So to cut off intrusive thoughts I gave it a go and worked on some of my WIPS. My head quieted down enough for me to finish one. I've got some other things I've been working on as well. Fingers crossed I can finish some other works🤞🏾. This isn't heavily edited, but I hope you still enjoy it my loves🫶🏾. Here's to hoping I haven't lost my spark as a writer 😩😆🤷🏾♀️.
“The disrespect in this household is at an all-time high. Just going to sit there and eat in my face like that.”
Your husband called you earlier as he was leaving the precinct. He informed you that Halstead, Ruzek, and Voight wanted to watch the game tonight. Kevin called to see if it’d be okay for them to watch it at the house. Once he had confirmation that it was cool with you, he mentioned they’d be stopping for food. He offered to pick you up something as well, but you declined. You weren’t feeling well, so you didn’t have a taste for anything. Kevin asked if you were sure. After confirming, the call ended with “I love you.” Going against his better judgment, he found himself in the hot seat.
“What are you talking about, baby? How did I disrespect you?” Kevin’s senses prickled, and he braced himself for a lecture.
“So, you didn’t bring me any food? Give me some of your wings, babe,” you plead.
Not thinking it through, he let his temper get the best of him. Kevin fussed, “Did you, or did you not say you weren’t hungry? No, baby, you do this every time. You should’ve told me to get you some food. Why do you do that?”
Your eyebrows raised, “Am I not allowed to change my mind?”
“Don’t answer that,” Adam fake coughed, “loaded question.”
Ignoring his best friend, you smirked as Voight’s hand met the back of Ruzek’s head, and he whispered an apology.
“I’m not even that hungry. I just want a couple of wings and some fries.”
“Which means you want all my flats and the crispy fries. That’s the best part of the meal. If you changed your mind, there was plenty of time to call me back and ask for something. Why not do that? Am I right, or am I missing something here,” he directed the last question at the guys. They had been sitting in uncomfortable silence, trying to remain neutral. Neither Ruzek nor Halstead wanted any part of the exchange.
“Kev, give that beautiful woman some food. Always keep your wife happy,” Voight replied.
“I’m not in it, Bro,” Jay replied, while Adam held his hands up, wanting no part of the conversation.
“You should listen to Voight. Besides, I did text you.”
“No, you didn't. I had my phone on me the entire time, love.”
“Oh, so now I’m a liar? Okay, bet,” you responded, tone clipped. You sat beside Kevin with your arms crossed, giving him the silent treatment.
It had only been a few minutes when it started driving him crazy. “Here, ma. Just take some. I guess I can order some more food.”
“I’m good. Liars don’t get rewarded. Right?”
“Man, whatever,” he responded, kissing his teeth as he shook his head. “I’ll gladly enjoy my food.”
His phone signaled a text from Halstead. The men made eye contact as Jay’s facial expression signaled for Kevin to read it.
“Bro, are you crazy? Don’t argue with a pregnant woman. She’s growing your child. The least you could do is just go with it, even if she’s acting a little dramatic. It’s not her, it’s the hormones, brother 😏.”
Kevin sighed, knowing Jay was right. Not even bothering to respond, he backed out of the message. His movements halted as he noticed an unread message. Turns out you had texted him an order.
Feeling like a jerk, he locked his phone, sliding it back into his pocket. Not saying a word, he grabbed his to-go box, gently placing it in yours. His lips left a juicy kiss on your cheek, trailing up to the left temple before he spoke, “You're right, baby. I should’ve ordered extra food, just in case. Eat this, and I’ll just order some more.”
“Mm, am I right? Or did you finally see my text message? Jackass.”
He couldn’t even be mad because you were right. The doorbell sounded, leaving a confused look on your husband's face. Dumping the box back onto his lap, you turned to Voight.
“Could you help me up? Please,” you asked, voice soft and angelic.
Kevin quickly placed his food on the coffee table. “Stop playing, mama. I can get the door.” You rolled your eyes, “I’ll get it,” you snapped. Kevin stood there tilting his head to the side, burning with attitude. Voight inserted himself, “You two play nice and put this to rest. I’ll get the door.”
“Nonsense, you’re our guest,” you responded, but Voight was already up, halfway to the door.
Hank was only gone a few minutes. He returned to the family room, smiling and chuckling to himself. “Mrs. Atwater. I never want to be on your bad side. Kevin–Bro. I don't know how you'll pull yourself out of this one.”
Kevin looked at Voight quizzically. He watched as his boss laid a fatherly kiss on his wife's temple. It fully registered for him as he witnessed the man hand her an Uber Eats bag. The same logo they had all gotten their dinner from was written in big, bold letters on the receipt attached. The two of you glared at one another as you dug in and devoured a handful of fries.
The room erupted in laughter as Kevin rolled his eyes. Unlike the other men in the room, he found nothing funny.
“When did you order food?”
“The minute you called me a liar.”
Kevin pinched the bridge of his nose.
I love the hell out of this woman, but she gon’ drive me crazy.
“You cannot be serious. Let's not pretend you didn't know I’d give in and share my food. Why must you be so damn petty, woman?”
“Just hush. It’s over. Sit down, eat your food, and enjoy the game. I know I will,” you responded with a devious smirk.
Kevin groaned in irritation as he reclaimed the spot next to you. You felt his pillowy, soft lips press against your cheek, moving to that spot behind your ear. He smiled at the shiver his actions pulled from you. Fighting back a grin, you playfully rolled your eyes. With a mouthful of chicken, you responded, “Still not forgiven. You'll have to do more groveling than that, boo.”
He leaned close, whispering in your ear, “That's cute. Trust me, love. I have my ways. Daddy knows how to make it up to you. Wait until I get you alone.”
“Bro! We can hear you,” Adam complained.
“I’m beginning to wonder how this isn’t your second or third baby, Kev,” Voight teased.
Hank joked as the other two sat there, blushing like crazy. Covering your face, you awkwardly laughed with embarrassment.
“I’d get up and leave you to fend for yourself, but I can’t exactly make a run for it these days,” you ribbed Kevin.
As you were about to shrink into yourself sheepishly, the doorbell went off, and you left Kevin to deal with taunts and teases from his work family. With a firm grasp of his forearm and shoulder, you lifted off the couch. Looks of admiration rained upon you as each man watched the cute waddle you made toward the entrance.
Damn near breathless from the short distance, you took a moment to catch your breath. “Baby? Are you good?” You waved him off, telling him to calm down, and pulled open the door. Burgess and Upton’s eyes shone with excitement as they started to make a fuss over your growing baby bump. You chuckled as they questioned why you’d been the one to answer. The minute the three of you entered the living room, Burgess crossed the room, bopping Adam and Kevin upside the head as Upton chastised Halstead and Voight.
“Ladies, please. Don’t be too hard on the fellas. They all offered, but I refused,” you waved your hands. “You guys know I’m stubborn.
“As hell,” Kevin interjected.
“You want static with me so bad,” you sassed.
Kevin threw his hands up in surrender and bit his lip, slightly turned on by your attitude. Behind that sexy smirk was playfulness and something else you couldn’t quite figure out. Adam cleared his throat, “Ladies, not to be disrespectful, but can you stop giving us a hard time? We promise to behave if you just let us watch the game.”
Kim rolled her eyes, mumbling, “You’re making it very hard to like you right now. The couch is calling your name.”
Before Adam could dig himself into a deeper hole, you directed the women toward the kitchen where your peace and sanctuary awaited you.
“I’ll take this,” you said, snatching your wings from Kevin’s grasp. “I’m not sharing either,” you mocked. He nodded his head, sucking his bottom lip in. “Alright, ma. Keep it up. I’m keeping a tally.” You chuckled, turning to head further into the kitchen. You had to have the last word.
“When will you stop with these hollow, empty threats, dear sweet husband?”
Kevin’s head pushed back into the couch cushion behind him as he watched you walk away. He groaned to himself, or so he thought.
“Leave that poor woman alone, bro,” Adam joked.
“I can’t help it. That woman knows how to keep me on my toes, and I live for it.”
Every man in the living room had been hyper-focused on the game except for the man of the house. The sassiness you had given him earlier had heat simmering inside him. Your attitude always sparked a desire in him. His hands vibrated with a need to grab a handful of you. Kevin wanted nothing more than to have a moment alone with you.
Pulling himself from his lustful thoughts, he cleared his throat, “I’m going to go grab another beer. Anybody want one?”
The crew nodded “yes” in unison, eyes still fixated on the television screen. Kevin leaned against the kitchen archway, listening to the animated conversation among the women. You could feel his eyes on you, and a smile pulled at the corners of your lips.
“Is there something that you need, Mr. Atwater,” you questioned with a playful edge.
Your eyes connected with his before slowly trailing down to his bottom lip, tucked between his teeth. Hidden behind the lip bite was a sinful smirk that screamed trouble. Kim and Hailey’s stares bounced between the two of you. Clearing her throat, Kim stuttered, “You know think I hear Adam calling? Hailey, you want to join me? We’ll meet you two in the living room, yeah,” she questioned, both women not giving you time to respond.
“Traitorous heifers,” you mumbled under your breath.
You stood behind the kitchen island, arms crossed, watching Kevin make slow, calculated strides toward you. He stepped behind you, gently grabbing your waist and turning you to face him. The giant man towered over you, licking his soft, plump lips. The action alone caused you to bite back a moan. He bent lower as his mouth ghosted over your own.
“You still mad at me, baby?”
“Mad? No. Irritated, yes,” you finished, neck rolling a bit.
Kevin chuckled lightly, and in a flash, he grasped your hips, lifting you and depositing you onto the counter. Standing between your parted thighs, he leaned in and trailed his lips from your chest to the side of your neck. It slipped your mind that the house wasn’t empty, and a moan escaped your lips.
“Shhh, mamas. Don’t forget we have company.”
“Then let me down,” you gasped as his lips gently suckled your flesh.
“Not a chance in hell. Got you right where I want you now.”
“K-Kevin, seriously. You're getting me all wound up. The baby finally settled and stopped kicking me every five minutes. Don't get her started up again. Down. I want too get down,” you whined like a toddler.
“Tell me you're no longer irritated. I don't want to beef with you anymore, love. If you promise we’re good, I'll let you down,” he smirked.
“You're so irritating,” you responded playfully, rolling your eyes. “Fine, we're good!”
His hand cupped your chin as he pecked your lips continuously. It sent you into a fit of giggles. Your hand daringly wrapped around his throat to the best of its ability. Kevin groaned, pulling his plump lip between his teeth.
“I know that look. What you tryna do with a house full of guests, Mr. Atwater?”
Before your husband could reply, Voight’s voice boomed from the living room, “You two aren't as discreet as you believe yourselves to be. Atwater, halftime is over. Leave that sweet woman alone.”
“Yes sir!”
His lips landed a kiss on your forehead as he promised, “I'm taking your fine ass on a date tomorrow night.”
Kevin swept you off the counter, helping you find your footing as your swollen feet met the hardwood floors. He leaned in giving you one last sensual kiss, promising to ravish you once the two of you were alone.
Hope you all enjoyed it! Feel free to love, reblog, and leave a comment, lovelies🩵.

HONEY TRAP ━━ Jay Halstead x Fem!reader
author's note; finally done with my presentations yippee! can go back to my requests now hehe, also this was kinda short?? idk, i hope its okay!
prompts; Jay Halstead with Hozier "I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife"
summary; in which jay's undercover and she's told him everything
━━ ☄. *. ⋆
It’s been a month since Jay was sent undercover. Something that was supposed to only last for a week ended up being extended far longer than they’d expected— and there was yet to be an end date in sight. But he’d adapted, he always did.
They knew him as Ryan, the expert in bitcoins and such. The organisation Intelligence had been gunning for was planning a pretty big heist and they needed someone who knew their way around it.
Jay himself was no expert. But he was good at bullshitting. And he learned a thing or two from Mouse to equip his undercover work.
What he never expected was the mob boss’ daughter taking over the heist planning. She became the mastermind, using him for her plans and unknowingly leaking everything to the Chicago police.
Mainly because he ends up in her bed every other night that he's been undercover. It was supposed to be a job — a simple honey trap so they could bust the crew.
But God, she was everything he could ever dream of. But she was the very thing he couldn't have if he wanted to keep his job.
“Your mind's in the clouds again.”
He was brought right back to reality when her sweet voice spoke so quietly. She was right there, on top of him, in nothing but his shirt as she pressed fleeting kisses on his collarbone.
The slightest smile pulled on his lips as he looked down at her, his fingers running through her tousled hair — his very own handiwork.
“Just thinking ‘bout tomorrow,” he muttered, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead. “You're so sure it's gonna work out.”
She hummed softly, her body molding against his with a soft smile on her face.
“It will. Everything's gonna be fine,” she assured softly.
“And if the cops find out?”
He couldn't tell her. But the cops already knew — Voight had already planned a bust, ready to finally have the crew in cuffs like he'd been planning for months.
All because Jay had told him everything she tells him.
“They won't. I told you everything, just go accordingly,” she shrugged.
It felt like a knife was stabbed and twisted in his gut when she said so surely. She did tell him everything — and he told his team. Because it was his job.
He cupped her face in his hands, making her look at him with a raised brow. For a moment he was just silent, his eyes tracing her sweet features. If only she wasn't the mobster's daughter. If only she wasn't a part of it herself.
He pulled her in, their lips meeting in a languid kiss. Because God knows it might be the last.
He rolled them over so she was on her back, not once releasing her from their kiss. And even this was all he could have of her — he'd make it worthwhile.
By the next afternoon, everything blew to pieces. The crew was getting ready to get the heist done. The other guys were in a separate van, pretending to be technicians coming to fix things.
She was in the passenger seat of another car with Jay driving. He knows Intelligence would be there, busting the whole heist soon. And he made a decision he knew could possibly cost him.
He took a different turn, going the opposite direction of the building they were heading for.
Her head shot up, realising he was diverting.
“Ryan,” she looked at him with raised brows.
“The cops are gonna bust your ass if we go there right now. You need to leave,” he said firmly.
She stared at him in confusion and bewilderment.
“I told you the plan, it's foolproof—”
“You told me the plan and I told my boss.”
She paused at his interruption. He was still driving, focused on the road but he was tense beyond words. Her sudden silence made his heart race faster.
“I'm a cop. I've been undercover for the past month,” he finally spoke again, confirming her silent thoughts.
Then he felt it — the knife against his neck. The cool metal was pressing against his skin and he cursed under his breath.
“I trusted you—”
“I lied. I know. You kill me now, we're gonna crash. Do you want that?” he retorted.
She seemed to consider it. But she didn't move the knife even as he kept driving.
“And how do I know you're not leading me right to them?” she asked.
This time he was the one who went silent. For a moment there, he couldn't say a word. Because really; how can he prove it to her that he won't?
“Because you know how I feel about you. I lied about everything but never that,” he confessed softly, daring a glance at her as he drove.
Then he looked back forward, the cool metal of the blade still glaringly obvious against his skin. She hesitated, considering her options. All their nights together — it wasn't just sex. It became something much more than that.
Slowly, she pulled her knife away. But she didn't keep it.
“Airstrip,” was all she said.
Because now there was no way she could stay in Chicago. So she'd have to disappear. But not without a lingering kiss goodbye — despite the betrayal she felt.
Jay made up an excuse for Voight. Something about her changing her mind and ditching the crew last minute. Intelligence managed to cuff the crew though, all except her. The mastermind.
And something in his gut told him they'd see more of her eventually

Unpopular Opinion 911 - et all
I'm a bisexual woman and I've known that I'm bisexual since I was 11 years old. I legitimately am attracted to both men and women.
I've been watching 911 since 2 months after season 1 ended in 2018. I got into the show for Bathena and have loved them ever since.
I keep seeing people complaining on the official show pages about how Athena abuses her authority as a cop, and while they're not wrong, they're also blowing things way out of proportion. I'm pretty sure the people saying that have never watched the NBC show Chicago PD, because if you compare what Athena's done, to what Voight on Chicago PD has done, you'd know that the stuff she's done has been pretty tame.
On Chicago PD:
1. Voight has locked people up in a cage and literally tortured them for information.
2. He has killed people for revenge. He killed the guy who killed his son, Justin. He killed the guy or people who killed Al. There are probably even more occurrences than that, but these are the one's that mainly come to mind for me.
3. He literally threatened Matt Casey, Hallie Thomas, and Gabby Dawson, when his dumbass son, Justin, was on drugs and caused an accident which paralyzed someone, because they could report Justin to other police who would've actually locked Justin's stupid ass up. I get that Voight was trying to protect his kid, but that doesn't make this shit okay. Also, it's weird as hell that Antonio worked with Voight for 6 years. How the hell did Antonio not kill Voight for threatening his sister's life? That's garbage.
4. He literally stole money and drugs from criminals.
5. He has threatened his detective's lives on more than one occasion, and not in some way to make sure they are more careful and protect themselves, but as a legit threat.
Returning to my 911 thoughts.
Oliver Stark has claimed that he's been playing Buck as bisexual the entire time. No, he has not. He just wants the clicks and attention from pretending that this has been happening all along. Buck has had no interest in men until season 7 and the BuckTommy storyline happened.
The episode of Lone Star that's the crossover, doesn't prove Buck is bi. He wasn't flirting with TK, it was a misunderstanding on TK's part. Buck is literally confused when TK says that he's with someone, as he wasn't flirting with TK, he was only inviting TK to come to LA as a friend to hang out.
Buck says on the show that he's checked out hot guy's asses before. He hasn't done that in canon. It's one of many things that they claim is canon, but isn't because it happened off screen. He has literally been obsessed with women from the first time we see him, until Tommy returns in season 7.
Buck can't even say that he's bisexual on the show. He hasn't done any research, when he used to research everything. He hasn't spoken to people like Hen, Karen, or even Josh in depth about his feelings for men. There was one scene, right before the relationship ended, where he talked to Josh, which didn't even amount to anything and was just a waste of time since they made Tommy OOC and broke up with Buck. Hell, he (Buck) didn't even know after 6 months that Tommy was gay and not any other identity.
All this to say, 911, TM, OS, they don't genuinely give a shit about Buck, his supposed bisexuality, Tommy, or even the other main characters on the show. From one episode to the next, they have them say one thing and then retcon it right after.
The whole Buck is bi thing was a hoax. They just wanted to attract the gay and bisexual crowd back to the show since Henren and Josh haven't been getting that much screentime, and Buck and OS are like the golden child of the show. People think he's an idiot, but that he's a sweet idiot, who can do no wrong.
As I stated above, I started watching 911 before season 2 even aired. I don't like the way the show is handling their characters and storylines and I'm finally getting tired of the shitty writing. I love Bathena, I love Henren, I love Madney, I loved BuckTommy. However, if Tommy is thrown aside like yesterday's trash and Buck moves on, only to fuck a bunch of women and/or men with the excuse of exploring his sexuality, I will be checking out and dropping the show.
I like Buck's character, but he's not the reason I watch the show. He's also not enough to keep me watching. Henren are constantly being threatened to have their kids taken away. Bathena is constantly put in crazy life or death situations that end in some super unrealistic way: Kid landing a plane, remember? Madney don't have anything interesting going on. Literally, all they have going on, is that they're having another kid. Eddie has spent years obsessed with his dead wife, Josh hasn't had much of a plot in years, since the only boyfriend he's had on the show was some homophobic jackass who lied and said he was gay, so that he could beat Josh up.
May is gone, Harry is gone, Sue is gone, Carla is gone, Chris is gone. All the side characters that helped make the show a little interesting, is gone. The found family dynamic is lacking or entirely absent this season. Also, making the point to show Tommy sad and longing for a family, only for him to end up sad and alone, doesn't make me want to keep watching this show.
I think I'm finished bitching for now. I know that my thoughts are all over the place, but I've kept my mouth shut on how I feel about OS and Buck's bisexuality, this whole time, but now I'm finally going to fully speak up.
As always, I know many or even most people aren't going to agree with me and that's fine. This is just my feelings and opinion on the show.

Jay Halstead- Work Husband Pt1
I walk into the break room to grab myself a coffee. Jay, my partner is already in there making two drinks
"Good morning" I greet him
"Morning" he hands me a cup after he pours the hot water in
"Thanks" I give him a smile
"Your very welcome. Actually I erm wanted to speak to you"
"What's up?" I ask frowning but before Jay can talk to me Adam pops his head in to the break room letting us know that Voight wanted to speak to us. He asks me and Jay to talk to a source to find out some information about our perp.
Jay and I get in the car, me behind the steering wheel. At first it's quiet. Then jay breaks the silence
"I think it's time we can be honest with each other. Wouldn't you agree?" This makes me feel a little nervous, but I try to hide it
"Depends"
"Ok I'm just going to say it"
"Go on then"
"You driving all the time? I'm not down with that"
"Tough. I drive"
"I've been on the job longer" I see Jay now looking at me through my peripheral vision. I glance at him before looking back at the road
"Well I've been in this unit longer"
"Ok honestly? I feel like a house husband" I chuckle at this then put on a straight face and glance at Jay
"I'd say sorry..." I stop the car and take my belt off and now give Jay my full attention "but I was told not to lie. Now let's go" I open up my door and both Jay and I start to walk to the shop when a guy whistles at me
"Shake it baby" I raise a brow at him then shake my head
"Jay" I nod my head towards the shop
"Watch yourself" Jay warns
"Yes sir officer sir" the guy says back to
"Does that ever catch girls attention?"
"Jay it's fine. Leave it" I open up the door to the shop "hi Chicago PD we would like to ask you a few questions" I say showing my badge
"Sure"
"A pay-as-you-go phone was purchased from your store in the last 24 hours" Jay starts as I take out the phone number from my pocket
"We're looking for who bought it"
"Yeah, a Juan Garcia. Yesterday. Paid cash"
"Any other information you can provide us?" I ask
"No, we're not responsible for background checks"
"True, but it is a fairly common name. You know, there's not a lot we can do with that" I give the store clerk a sweet smile
"You don't tell me how to do my job. I don't tell you how to do yours" the guy hands the number back to me as I continue to smile
"You're Glen Pearson, right? The owner of this place?"
"That's right"
"You know, it looks like there's a Glen Pearson with deceptive practice and fraud charge"
"Huh" I cross my arms looking at Jay
"Yeah for selling stolen merchandise
out of Gary, Indiana" Jay shows me a fake police report made to just scare the guy "That's a 25,000 dollar expeditable must-hold warrant"
"Hmm. What do you think Halstead? Height, weight match. Eye color, too"
"Yeah" he nods his head "hey I've got an idea. Why don't we throw some bracelets on him, we'll take him down to the station, run his prints, and then we can be sure" Jay gives me a little nudge
"I got a nanny cam up here. I can pull some footage. Get a picture of the guy who did it.
It's best I can do"
"Oh that's great" Jay and I both smile "oh and I'll have some gum"
We leave the store after getting a photo. I place a piece of gum in my mouth
"I knew that would work"
"Now we just gotta figure out who this idiot is" I pass the photo over to Jay as the same guy we passed earlier throws a bottle
"Why don't you bring that ass over to place sometime girl. I'll let you in"
"Hey" I say to Jay who looks pissed "it's fine. Let's go" Jay takes off his holster and badge, handing them over to me "ok. Yeah" I nod my head. Jay and the guy have a little tiff earning an eye roll from me "oh my hero" I give Jay his things back "and by the way I'm still driving" I run over to the drivers side of the car before driving us back to the precinct to talk over what we have found out.

Flirting with Risk 18+
Request: Okay, I might have the idea of another sequel of Gossip and Glances where Antonio sometimes gets really touchy at work and always tries to be close to you.. but you also fear that you get in trouble with Voight but he surprises you by saying he already knows about you and that it's fine as he knows you do a good job. So Antonio continues with his behavior and at home he can finally spoil you in all the right ways ? 🥵🔥
Pairings: Antonio Dawson x Intelligence!Reader
Warnings: angst, fluff, smut
Masterlist
First Installment: From Colleagues to Lovers
Second Installment: Gossip and Glances
Third Installment: Flirting with Risk
A/N: Thank you to the anon who sent this in! @talesofreading and @imagine-all-the-fandoms here is another smutty one for you!
You and Antonio have been dating for 3 months now but to you it felt even longer. Everybody at work knew that you two were together because of him wincing when he leaned up against the back of his chair and hissed. The men pried it out of Antonio and the girls pried it out of you when they dragged you to the locker room. The only person that didn't know, or at least you thought didn't know, was your boss Hank Voight. When nobody was around or it was just your coworkers you two were pretty handsy but the minute you heard Hank you both straightened and acted like nothing happened, although when you looked over to Antonio, he just smirked at his computer screen and you rolled your eyes but smirked as well.
Recently though he has been flirting with risk and to be honest so have you but he was the worst. It was one time during a briefing that he was the worst. He stood extra close to you and his hand would occasionally pump yours and you did it right back. Antonio slowly moved his hand across the desk and onto your back at first that didn’t bother you but when he got down to your ass and he lightly slapped it which made you jump a little and squeal not expecting it, you covered it with a cough “Are you alright Y/N?” Hank asked you and you nodded.
“Sorry it was just a little tickle. Please continue.” You said and he nodded and turned towards the board and you briefly turned your head and glared at your boyfriend who was just smirking and eating up the attention. You turned back to the briefing but caught the eye of the girls who were smirking and you rolled your eyes but continued to listen.
“Antonio and Y/N I want you to go and check out the coffee shop owner.” Hank said and you both nodded and then he gave everyone else their assignments. Antonio and you went to your desk and grabbed your things and he opened the gate and held out a hand signaling you to go first which made you smile and as you were walking by, he patted your ass and you turned and looked at him with a glare. You quickly hurried down the stairs with him behind you. When you both got in the car you smacked him on the arm and he jerked back.
“Aww what was that for?” He asked and you looked at him in disbelief as he rubbed his arm.
“That was for almost getting us caught!” You shouted at him and he smirked.
“You liked it though.” He said with a smirk and started the engine.
“Yes, I did but we have to be more careful. We don’t want Hank to know.” You said and he smirked.
“How can I resist when you look so damn irresistible?” He asked as he stopped at a stoplight and leaned over and kissed your neck but gently nibbled on it and it made you moan. You just happened to look up and the light was green.
“Tonio light green.” You moaned out and he turned away from you, you whimpered when he pulled away but he needed to focus on the road. His hand came over the console to hold yours and you gladly accepted it. Meeting with the coffee shop owner was quick and easy and surprisingly you got a lot of information and then you were headed back to the district. Nobody was there having still been out and you made sure Hank wasn’t there and when you confirmed that he wasn’t you grabbed Antonio’s belt loops and pulled him over to you as you leaned on the desk. Your lips met in a feverish kiss and then your tongues were battling for dominance and teeth were clashing against teeth, his hands went to your face and into your hair. It would’ve gone on until he ended up taking you right then and there but a throat clearing made you stop and turn to the top of the stairs. Kevin, Adam, Kim, Jay, and Erin were standing there smirking.
“Oh, don’t stop on our account.” Kevin said and got a hit to the chest but Kim. You were blushing like mad that you got caught but Antonio was smirking like he was proud that you two had gotten caught.
“Get a room.” Adam said
“Don’t tempt us.” You said finally finding your voice and everyone laughed as everyone scattered to their desks, you went to your desk and began working and Antonio came up behind you and watched you work since. He was super close, close enough you could smell his cologne the both of you talked about the case and getting input from your team members when you voiced your findings. It wasn’t very long until Hank was coming up and you were pushing your boyfriend away but he stayed close. You always feared that Hank would find out and then there would be consequences. Hank walked into the bullpen and you pushed Antonio away secretly. He walked back to his desk and began working.
It had been a few hours and you wanted, no need, something to eat and drink so you went to the break room. You were bent over looking through the fridge when you felt someone behind you and then hands on your waist, you knew who it was. Lips quickly found yours as you grabbed some food that was in the fridge and walked over to the counter, you moved your neck to the side “What are you doing, sexy?” He asked in your ear and you turned your head and gave him a kiss.
“Getting something to eat, handsome.” You said when you pulled away. “We could get caught.” You said as he kissed you again.
“It’s a risk I’m willing to take.” He said but then there was a knock on the door and you once again knocked him away and turned towards your food while Antonio turned to the person leaning on the counter.
“You’re lucky it wasn’t Hank.” Jay said as he walked into the break room. “You two are flirting with risk.” He said and then you turned towards him, taking a bite of your food.
“I keep telling him that but he won’t listen.” You said and elbowed Antonio in the stomach and he let an ‘oof’ Jay just smirked.
“Just be careful you two.” He said and you nodded and then you were walking back out to the bullpen while Antonio stayed to talk to Jay, he watched you walk away with a smirk on his face.
It was in the middle when Hank appeared. “I wanna talk to you two.” He said then turned to walk into his office and you looked at Antonio with a scared look on your face and he shook his head and walked over to you.
“You don’t have to worry about anything. I’m right here with you.” He whispered and you nodded. You both walked into Hank’s office as the others watched with smiles. Hank was leaning on his desk, arms crossed as you both walked in and stood in front of him like kids who got caught stealing something, your head was down and hands interlocked with each other and Antonio was standing close to you.
“I know you two are together.” Hank said and your head shot up.
“You do?” You asked and looked at Antonio with a shocked look on your face and he did to then you looked back and Hank and he nodded.
“It wasn’t hard to figure out.” He said
“How?” You asked, still trying to process everything.
“It was easy. You both are coming at the same time if not a second to a minute after each other, when it used to be 1 hour after each other. You both defend each other. You both protect each other and yes, I know your partners but this goes past just being partners. You both stand closer to each other during briefings. Also, you both disappear pretty much at the same time.” Hank said and smirked when your mouth fell open and Antonio had an unreadable expression on his face.
“How long have you known?” Antonio asked
“Since the day you both showed up at the same time and Y/N was wearing your hoodie.” Hank said “Just as long as you both keep it professional you can stay together but once your love life starts interfering with your work then we'll be having a totally different conversation.” He added, " Understood?” He asked you and Antonio, both of you nodded.
“Understood.” You both said at the same time and Hank nodded. You both walked back out and Kevin was the first one to speak up.
“So…. what happened?” He asked
“He knows.” Antonio said “But that just means that I can be loving to my girl now here.” He said and hugged you from behind and gently squeezed you. You shook your head and then you both got to work although he kept his antics up and now that Hank knew you started to get handsy yourself and Antonio ate it up.
When you were done for the day, you were ready to go home and finish what you both started. “You guys coming to Molly's?” Erin asked.
“No, we're going to stay in.” You said and she smirked.
“Don't have too much fun.” Kim said and you threw a paper ball at her and she ducked while she laughed. You grabbed your stuff and then joined Antonio at the top of the stairs and began to descend down them.
“Have a good night you two.” She said with a smirk and you flipped her off. You both walked to Antonio's car silently and got in.
“Now he knows and we can do anything we want.” He said gripping your chin lightly and kissing you.
“We have to keep it professional, Tonio.” You said when you broke away from the kiss.
“We will, when others are around but when they're not then you're all mine.” He said and you smiled and nodded he had released your chin.
“You're all mine too.” You said and kissed him “Now let's get home and maybe we can continue this.” You said with a smirk and a wink. He pulled a face and groaned then before you knew it you, he was speeding out of the parking lot and towards his apartment.
When you arrived at the apartment, he was quick to park and you both hurriedly walked in and got on the elevator. You pressed the all too familiar number and once you were sure the doors were closed you were quick to kiss him. It took him by surprise but he quickly followed the kiss. He was quick to turn you around so that your back was on the elevator wall. “Jump.” He said in a husky voice and you quickly did as you were told. You wrapped your arms around his neck and legs around his waist. “You're so beautiful.” He said when he pulled away and looked you in the eye. Then you brought his lips to yours as the elevator dinged. The kiss broke and you looked over to see you were on your floor. He didn't put you down, he instead walked with you clinging to him and went back to kissing you, you could feel how hard he was through his jeans and you had no doubt that you were soaking wet.
“I need you, Tonio. Need you so bad.” You said as he stopped at his door and dug out his key and he broke the kiss to be able to see what he was doing.
“Soon, Baby. Soon.” He said and unlocked the door and pushed it open then he shut it with his foot and locked it blindly. “Can't wait to get you out of these clothes and see all of your sexy body.” He said against your neck and you clenched around nothing and you moaned. He walked to his bedroom with you wrapped around his body and still having a heavy make out session. Antonio gently put you on the bed and then crawled up your body after having removed his shirt and pants leaving him in his underwear that was tented with his erection and you could feel your mouth water. You would love to get your mouth around him but he had other plans as he started to undress you. When he was done you were completely naked and exposed to him and he sat back on his knees and just stared at you.
“Like what you see?” You asked and that damn smirk popped up on his face.
“Absolutely.” He responded and he was quick to shed his underwear and have them join the pile on the ground. He didn’t waste any time by giving himself one pump and then he was hovering over your body. You could feel him at your entrance. “Remember to tell me to stop if something isn’t right.” He said and you nodded and then he was slowly pushing into you, both moaning at the same time.
“Fuck. Feels so good.” You moaned out as he halted and letting you adjust. After a minute you looked at him and nodded “Move.” You said and he obeyed. He set a slowly steady pace filling you just right and hitting you in the right places and the all-familiar stretch was perfect.
“Fuck, always so tight for me. Such a good girl. Gonna marry you one day and pump a kid into you, our perfect little family.” He said not knowing what effect it had on you. All you did was moan as you started to close.
“Faster, baby. Faster.” You said and he picked up his pace. “Feels so good!” You screamed out not caring who heard “Wanna have your kids and be your wife.” You moaned out, head thrown back and fingers digging into his shoulder blades and slowly making their way down his back. Antonio hissed from the pain but didn’t stop.
“I’m close, baby.” He moaned out and as his thrusts started to get sloppy.
“I’m close too.” You said he dropped his head into the crook of your neck and you could feel his hot breath on your neck. His grunting and moaning were bringing you to the edge. “Cum with me.” He said as one of his hands came down to your clit as the other stayed by your head. He started to rub your sensitive clit and you felt his thrusts become even more sloppier. His head went down to your breasts and started to give them attention equally.
“I’m gonna cum.” You moaned out a warning and that just seemed to make him pick up speed. That rubber band in your stomach snapped and you were cumming hard. You heard him moan out and stilled and you both came together. As you both came down from your highs he slowly pulled out and watched his cum leak out of you and smiled and then fell on the other side of you. You both just laid there. “You really mean it?” You asked him, looking at him.
“Hmmm?” He asked
“About marrying me and making me a mom and you a dad.” You said reminding him. He turned to you and propped up on his elbow.
“One of these days.” He said and you smiled.
“I would love that, you know.” You said and he smiled.
“I love you.” He said and kissed you.
“I love you too.” You said and then you both got under the covers and fell asleep cuddled together thinking about what the future has to hold. You couldn’t wait to marry him and be the mother to his kid.

JAY HALSTEAD MASTERLIST || TAG LIST SIGN-UP
A loud knock at her apartment door interrupts Y/N from the movie she's just begun watching. Sighing, she sets the freshly popped popcorn on the coffee table and walks towards the door, wrapping her cardigan tightly around herself. When she opens the door, she is surprised to see Jay standing there, an angry expression on his face. He storms into her flat before she can say anything.
She shuts the door as she turns around to follow him inside her small living area, confused and worried for her partner.
He was in a good mood when she left the district earlier this evening, laughing and joking with her. She can't think of anything that would have made him angry in the time between then and now. He told her that he was going home to do nothing for the rest of the night.
"Is everything okay?" She speaks up softly, unsure of where his head's at right now.
"No, it isn't," his voice is filled with resentment and anger as he glares at her. She never imagined she'd be the one to face his unsettling glare he one gives suspects when he isn't taking any of their crap.
When he reveals what he's angry about, she is overcome with guilt. "Voight just informed me that you've asked to be transferred to the homicide unit at district 27."
'Shit,' is the first thing that comes to her mind. She wasn't sure how she was going to tell him that she had requested the transfer, but she didn't expect him to find out through Hank, who was refusing to sign the paperwork. S Shaking her head and lifting her palm to her face, she massages her temples, feeling her own anger at her boss. She should have anticipated him to going to Jay to persuade her to stay with intelligence.
"Were you planning on telling me before you left?" His irritation was still evident in his voice.
"Of course, I was," she tells him, her voice raising slightly. "Hank is refusing to sign the papers, so I don't know what's going to happen."
"He doesn't want you to leave, and I don't want you to leave either," he confesses, his voice also rising.
"Well, I have to," she frowns, her arms folded across her chest as if attempting to create a barrier between them, knowing he won't stop there.
"Did I do something to make you no longer want to work with me?"
"Of course not," she says, shaking her head. "You're the best partner I've ever had, and I trust you more than anyone. You've always had my back; you're honest, entertaining, and loyal. Even when you're being a pain in the ass with your Halstead sass."
"So, what's the problem?" He shouts in frustration, his eyes still filled with anger and confusion.
"The problem is…" she stops to take a long breath in and out, trying not to become overly emotional. "No one else can make me feel the way you do, and I hate that."
Jay's stare changes to a shocked expression in an instant, his blue eyes wide and his mouth slightly ajar as his body is frozen in place. When he does not respond, she continues talking.
"I hate it because I had one rule: never fall in love with someone I work with, especially my partner," she reveals.
Everyone was aware of her 'no dating in the workplace' rule and where it stemmed from. Fresh out of the academy she'd been paired up with a cop who had left the academy two years before her. She'd fallen hard and fast for the guy only to find out he was engaged to a civilian. She broke it off as soon as she found out, but it was messy, and she ended up transferring to district 21. It took her three years to move up to intelligence where she was partnered up with Jay.
The day that she met him, she knew she was screwed. After a week of working with Jay, she asked Hank, who she'd known since she was a kid since he worked with her father, if she could be partnered with someone else. Hank refused, having seen how well the two work together.
Y/N tried her hardest to put distance between her and Jay but as they got to know each other on a personal level as well as a professional level, she knew she couldn't stop it from happening and all she could do was try and deny it. It seemed to be working out for her until Jay got shot multiple times in a shootout with a drug cartel two months ago. He almost lost his life, and it terrified her. Knowing she couldn't be with him, because she thinks he doesn't feel the same and even if he did there was Hank's dislike for in-house romances, she thought her only option to move past these feelings would be to transfer out and put actual distance between them.
"You came along and drew me in with those pretty blue eyes and that smug little smirk," she laments, her arms at her sides. "And then I got to know you and worked with you, and you were so frustrating but also so kind, protective, and caring. "I was in love with you before I realized it, no matter how hard I tried not to be."
Jay wraps one arm around her waist and the other on her face. His soft pink lips crash into hers in a passionate kiss as he pulls her body up against him. As she leans into the kiss, Y/N's eyelids close and her arms go over his shoulders as she gives into the feelings, she's tried so hard to deny.
When the kiss is over, they are both out of breath. He kisses her on the forehead, leaving his lips to linger there for a moment. "Don't go through with the transfer."
"I have to," she sighs, smoothing his coat and concentrating on that so she doesn't immerse herself in those blue eyes she adores. "You know Hank dislikes workplace romances."
"As I said before, Hank doesn't want you to go," he reminds her.
"When he finds out about this, he could change his mind."
"I doubt it," he says, taking a step back to look at her.
"What are we going to do?" She wonders aloud, a little unsure.
"Talk to Voight, keep it professional at work, and take it one day at a time," he says, as if he's given it much consideration. "But right now, I'm going to tell you that I love you and kiss you again," he adds, dipping his head to the side as he leans in.
"I love you, too," she murmurs as their lips meet again in a kiss, this time softer and more tender than the first.

Hank Voight x Fem!Reader - Pt. 2
Request for @maximeseveridecaseyc - I hope you like it!
Synopsis: Part 2 of THIS request - Reader and Voight are taking the next step in their relationship! :)
Eight months went by, your relationship with Hank growing deeper and more passionate every day. Your bruises had healed, and you’d naturally gained some weight, but it was good weight. You were happier and despite still having nightmares, Hank stayed by your side. You often spent your days in his house, as you felt safe there. He urged you to go out on your own, because he didn’t want to restrict you. When you did leave, you went to Molly’s and worked a weekend shift, especially when Hank was wrapped up in a case.
One day, Hank came home to you, a wide smile on his face. It was rare to see him in such a good mood due to his line of work. You walked to the door and greeted him.
“Hey baby,” you said softly, waiting for him to strip his outer jacket and shoes before wrapping your arms around his neck, pressing a soft kiss to his lips.
He looked down at you, his smile only growing. “Hey there,” he replied. “How was your day?”
You laughed. “It was good. Looks like yours was too.”
He kissed you again, rubbing your waist. “Even better now that I’m home with you.”
You smiled, putting a hand up to his face, stroking his cheek with your thumb. “Seems like you’re extra happy today.”
Hank hummed, turning his head to kiss your hand, using one hand to take it and hold it. “Come on, let’s eat dinner. I’m just so happy to see my girlfriend.”
You laughed, using your free hand to rub his chest before he whisked you away to the kitchen. The two of you decided to cook spaghetti. You and Hank worked together on the meal, Hank playfully getting some sauce on his finger and pressing it to your nose. You gasped and laughed, getting him back by saucing him in the cheek. You both laughed, the happiest people in the world in those moments. The rest of the world didn’t exist as the two of you laughed and wiped the sauce from one another’s faces.
You wrapped your arms around his torso, pressing your face into his chest. “You know, when I first met you, I never thought that you’d be such a softie.“
Hank couldn’t help but blush when you called him that. “I hope you don’t go around telling people that. I have to keep my hard-ass reputation.” He laughed, stroking your hair as he held you close.
“No, it’s just for me,” you whispered, pulling back and kissing him deeply.
Hank smiled down at you when you parted. “Yeah, it is.” He reached into his pocket, pulling something out after a moment and keeping it hidden in his hand. “Look, (Y/N), you’re the first person to make me happy since Camille passed on. I want to make sure you stick around. I know it’s really informal but… I want to ask you if you’ll marry me.” Hank opened his hand to reveal a simple engagement ring.
You blushed deeply, gasping softly when he asked, tears welling in your eyes. How could you say no to him? He made you just as happy. You slowly took the ring from his hand, nodding as you looked up at him, slipping it on your ring finger. “Yes… Yes, Hank, I’d love to marry you.” You pushed closer into his embrace as he pulled you as close as possible, kissing you deeply, passion and love pouring from his soul, directly into yours. You felt completely fulfilled by this moment alone.
You wrapped your arms tightly around Hank, practically jumping into his arms. He smiled and pulled you up, setting you up on the counter as he turned off the stove. “You know, I didn’t plan to do this until after dinner, but it was so… perfect.”
You smiled down at him, carting your fingers through his hair and rubbing the nape of his neck. “Yeah, it was perfect,” you affirmed. “I couldn’t think of anything better.”
.
The next day, you went with Hank into work, as you sometimes did, especially because you liked to visit the intelligence unit, who had come to be your close friends and practically family.
It was Antonio who noticed it first. He was a father, and he had taken on something of a parent role to you as well. He looked at your hand, then met your eyes and smiled. “Congratulations,” he said softly, so the others wouldn’t hear.
“Thanks,” you whispered with a nod as you walked over to see Erin and Jay in the break room. “Hey guys.”
Erin smiled when she saw you. “Hey, (Y/N)!” She walked over and gave you a gentle hug. “You seem different.”
You shrugged a little. “What do you mean?” You smiled at her as Jay handed you a cup of coffee, which you held with both hands as you sipped.
Erin hummed, looking you over. “You look like you’re glowing.”
“Well, I had a good night last night,” you said with a small laugh.
Hank came up behind you in the doorway, a rare smile on his face. Erin didn’t see him smile like that often, meeting his eyes for a moment before Hank looked down.
Erin’s eyes turned to you, gasping when she saw the engagement ring on your finger. “No way,” she said with a laugh. “Hank, you sly dog.”
Hank shrugged. “What can I say?”
Jay laughed. “Congratulations.” He walked over, giving you a small hug, then shaking Hank’s hand.
Erin came over and hugged you tightly. “I’m so happy for the two of you.” She smiled, then hugged Hank as well. “I’m glad you make each other happy.”
You turned to look at Hank as he hugged his foster daughter, a bright smile on your face. “Erin, I’d love it if you could be my maid of honor.”
Erin turned quickly to you, smiling. “I’d love to, (Y/N). Anything you need, let me know.”
Hank chuckled. “We talked about it last night. We decided we’d just have a small wedding and elope. Just close friends.”
Antonio walked in, smiling and shaking Hank’s hand. “Congratulations - both of you.” He hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek. “You both deserve it.”
You smiled and hugged Antonio tightly. “Walk me down the aisle?”
Antonio pulled back, looking at you with a look of surprise. “Me? Are you sure?”
“Who else?” You asked with a smile.
—
Three months later, you were dress shopping. Your wedding was set for a month out, making you both excited and nervous. It wasn’t a huge ceremony, but you wanted it to be just right. Hank was the love of your life, your first true love and the man who ultimately treated you like you were worth more than a passing glance. You weren’t a body with Hank, you were a person.
“(Y/N),” Erin said, gently putting a hand on your shoulder. “You ready?”
“Yeah,” you said, walking with Erin into the store, Jay right behind you.
When you walked in, you were greeted by a man and a woman, both of which would be assisting you.
.
After trying on eighteen dresses, you were exhausted. None of them were quite right. You liked a few, hated a few others, and were indifferent on the rest. You were upset that you couldn’t find one you loved and were going to settle on one of the ones you thought were okay instead. That’s when Jay popped out of the aisle. “Hey, (Y/N), try this one.”
“I’m exhausted, Jay,” you groaned. “It’s fine, I’ll just pick one of these.”
“No, I’m serious, this is the last one. Try it.”
“Jay…” you whined. “Come on…”
Erin walked over to Jay, looking at the dress he was holding, then nodding. “Come on, (Y/N), one more.”
You looked at the both of them, then sighed. “Fine. But this is the last one. Then I’m leaving.”
You got into the dress which fit you well in all the right places. You bit your lip as you looked down at it, wondering if it actually looked as good as you thought. When you walked out and stood on the podium, you looked at Erin and Jay on the couch first. “Does it look okay?”
Jay smiled brightly, nodding. Erin gasped and stood up, walking over to you. “(Y/N), you need to see it for yourself.”
You bit your lip as Erin helped you move around to the mirror, your eyes closed tightly. When you finally got the courage to open your eyes and look, you blushed, then tears welled in your eyes. You put your hands to your face, gasping as you started to cry. “It’s… perfect.”
“Told you,” Jay said, standing and joining Erin. “It’s always in the last place you look.”
You laughed, shaking your head and wiping the tears from your face. “That’s only lost things, silly.”
Jay shrugged and chuckled.
—
You and Hank had decided at the last minute to have your wedding on the steps of the 21st district. Seeing as it was a weekend, the foot traffic could be routed through a different door. Trudy was able to take care of it for you. She was so happy for Hank that he had found someone new since Camille had passed. You, Erin, Stella, and Sylvie were a block away at Sylvie's apartment. The girls had personally taken care of your hair and makeup, styling it so that your face was perfectly framed. As you finished assembling your dress and got your shoes on, you looked in the mirror, biting your lip. Everything was perfect, and you were glowing. The engagement ring on your finger was sparkling brightly, and you couldn't help but smile, thinking about Hank, hoping he thought you were beautiful too.
A knock came to the door. Erin walked over and cracked it open, then allowed Antonio inside. Antonio stepped in, nodding to the three bridesmaids, then to you with a small smile. "Beautiful."
"Thanks," you said softly, nodding back at him. "Is everyone ready at the district?"
"Yep, just waiting on you." He walked over, offering his arm. You took it, the two of you walking downstairs and out to his car. Erin, Stella and Sylvie got into another car, driving ahead of you and Antonio so they could get set up. Toni sat in the driver's seat beside you, waiting a few minutes before he started driving. He looked at you. "Hey, how are you feeling?"
You took a deep breath as your eyes shifted to his face. "Butterflies. Lots and lots of butterflies."
Antonio chuckled, gently taking your hand for comfort. "Hank feels the same way - he just won't say so."
"How do you know?" You squeezed his hand.
Antonio laughed. "I haven't seen Hank so frantic in my life. He knows this is a small event, but he wants to make sure it's right. For you. He understands you haven't been married before and he wants you to have a good day."
You smiled softly, thinking about Hank being frantic. You could barely imagine it. The level-headed man you'd come to love, hard on the outside and soft on the inside, how could he be so frantic? You looked out the window as Antonio drove you to the district, the butterflies in your stomach getting stronger with each passing minute.
When you arrived at the district, Antonio kissed your cheek, then got out and opened your door for you, handing you a bouquet he had grabbed from the back seat. It was made up of your favorite flowers. He helped you out, then the two of you walked across the street. At the top of the stairs stood Hank, Alvin and Jay beside him, a third spot left for Antonio. Chief Boden from Firehouse 51 was officiating your wedding, standing in the middle with a small smile. Erin, Stella and Sylvie had since taken their places on the opposite side of Al and Jay, a spot left for you. Each had a grin on their face, except Hank.
Hank's eyes moved all over you. He examined every part of you, from bottom to top. When his eyes finally met yours, he nodded a little, swallowing hard. You wondered if he wanted to back out, but as Antonio led you up the steps toward Hank, you could see he actually had tears in your eyes. You teared up as well, seeing that he was crying just looking at you. The two of you were overwhelmed with emotion as Antonio let you go and into Hank's arms, taking his spot beside Jay. Hank hugged you, mumbling in your ear. "You're beautiful... Inside and out... I can't wait to make you my wife."
You sniffled, trying not to rub your makeup on him. Al handed you a tissue, as if he knew you would need it beforehand. You took it with a silent thanks, pulling away from Hank to dab your eyes, then holding his hands. You barely listened to Boden until your part came, Erin handing you the wedding band for Hank, and Al giving the one for you to Hank. You repeated the words Boden asked you to, then Hank to you. The two of you were still dabbing your tears every so often, voices barely a whisper, as it was all either of you could muster without breaking into tears.
After you exchanged rings, you exchanged vows, promising to love and support one another - no matter what came your way. Each of you promised that your marriage meant more than just a body to sleep beside. Your marriage was the most important thing in your lives, come what may.
After exchanging the rings, Boden talked a bit more before the two of you were finally allowed to kiss one another. Hank pulled you close, a soft yet desperate pull. He touched his nose to yours, finally letting tears stream from his eyes. "I love you," he whispered softly before closing the gap and pressing his lips to yours, kissing you with the same passion, love and energy you had felt the first time he kissed you. You returned it all, holding onto him lovingly, clutching his jacket for life, as if he might leave if you let go. You finally had something good, and it was yours to keep. Love.
When the two of you finally parted, you whispered back, breathless. "I love you too." Finally, the claps and cheers of your wedding party and audience came to your ears. You smiled and faced the small crowd of friends, waving with your free hand, holding your bouquet in the other. You threw it out into the crowd, Kim catching it. She blushed as Adam laughed and put his arm around her shoulders. Then, Hank walked you down the steps, smiling like a fool. The two of you got into his Dodge Durango and drove away, waving. You went to his house, practically already both of yours. The two of you changed into something a little less fancy, but still nice. Then, you shared a few moments together, gentle and loving, before leaving and heading out to Molly's for your reception.
--
When the two of you arrived at Molly's, the party was already in full swing. Trudy and Erin made sure everyone was having a good time. You and Hank walked in, everybody clapping and hollering. Hank held your hand, smiling and even blushing. It was a blush he would pass off as it being too hot. Only you and a select few others knew that his blush was real. The two of you walked around, talking with everyone. Mainly though, Hank did the talking while you just enjoyed holding his hand. The two of you had some casual drinks, but you were already exhausted and looked forward to spending the night in his arms, leaning into him. He cast his arm around your waist and pulled you close, allowing you to lean further into his embrace. His embrace was the best place on the planet, and you never wanted to leave it.

Broken Bonds- Part 8
Former (ish) Greg "Mouse" Gerwitz x Reader, BabyDaddy! Jay Halstead x Reader
After telling Mouse you distanced yourself from Jay but when he's hurt on a case (even if it turns out to not be serious) It makes you realize you can't do that either. You and him have a major heart to heart and pick a baby name
Warnings: this one is kinda fluffy compared to most of this so far lol
You sat across from Dr Charles, twisting your ring around your finger and running your other hand across your stomach, following the path that the baby was taking with her foot. “How are you doing now that Greg knows?” He asked and you took a deep breath. How did you feel? About two weeks had passed and you still weren’t even sure. It felt better not being so damn tense every moment worrying someone else may tell him but the tears in his eyes were still burned into your memory. You’d ripped his heart out and he still loved you. How you were supposed to process that?
“Better in some ways” you admitted and he smiled “That’s good. Anything that takes stress off of you and the baby is a good thing. Have you and Jay started thinking about names?” you shook your head, eyes going back to your hands. Since that night you told Mouse you could feel the distance you’d built between the two of you but you didn’t know how to bridge it. At your silence he turned his head slightly to be able to meet your eyes “How are things between you and Jay?”
You shrugged one shoulder “They’re fine” “Fine?” he asked and you had a feeling Jay may have brought it up in his session two days before. You’d been keeping up with yours to keep stress off of you for the baby’s sake. Hank was making Jay keep up with his for his temper. “There’s some distance between us but it’ll be fine” he nodded slowly “That baby will be here before you know it. You’re what six months?”
You nodded “Six and a half” he smiled “I think you two need to sit aside any pretenses and just talk. Agree that nothing is off limits and get everything off your chests so she can come into the world to two parents who are on the same team fully because talking to the two of you separately? Before all of this? You were partners in crime for lack of better phrasing. You always had each other's back, you were able to help him if his ptsd got bad and he was able to help you if any old demons popped up. Get back to that. You don’t have the dark cloud of lying to someone you mutually care about anymore”
You nodded silently before saying “Ok” he smiled “Ok”
Your hand was resting on your stomach as you walked up the stairs leading to intelligence. The baby was beginning to kick hard enough you could see your stomach moving instead of just feeling her. The first time it happened and Adam was talking to you he’d dropped a file. You’d never laughed that hard.
The moment you hit the bullpen your eyes went to the board where the photos of a recent crime scene were taped up. The unit had caught a shooting case where two adults were dead and a sixteen year old was on life support. It was kicking everyone’s ass. The main suspect Alexander Monroe had ties to the cartel so pinning him down was proving to be a bitch, even trying to triangulate his cell was a pain in the ass because the signal kept bouncing around the damn city any time it became active.
“Anything?” you asked Hailey considering she was the only one currently at her desk not on her phone. She shrugged “Jay and Kevin went to meet with a couple C.I’s and Voight thinks he has a lead” “How's the kid?” you asked and she grimaced “It became a triple homicide about thirty minutes ago” damn. You had hoped somehow the kid would pull through.
“All of this because he lost a few thousand dollars worth of drugs” you looked back at the board with a shake of your head. You hated seeing this type of violence in Chicago and it made it even worse that for once you couldn’t even help because Hank had officially chopped your wheels. Unless it was strictly interviewing witnesses or talking to trusted C.I.s you were on desk duty and bound to the precinct until the baby was born.
“It’s horrible” She agreed as you turned to head to your desk, hoping maybe one of the other programs you had running could get a hit on one of Monroe’s cars if nothing else. You sat down and started to work your way through them, cursing the fact that you simply couldn’t run them as fast as Mouse could.
About thirty minutes passed before Voight returned then another fifteen before Jay and Kevin made it back. When Jay walked through the main floor his eyes flicked towards you so you gave him a small smile. He gave a slight nod of his head and kept walking to Voight’s office.
You didn’t have time to dwell on it because your screen lit up “VOIGHT! WE GOT A HIT!” you hollered and Hank came out of his office “His car or phone?” you looked up “Both. They’re pinned down to one place but if you want him you gotta move now!” he looked around “You heard her! Gear up!”
Everyone went into a flurry of motion, you sent the tracking over to Hailey’s phone before they all started down to roll up. You watched them head out and felt your stomach drop at not being able to go with them, to have their backs.
You walked back to your desk and grabbed the headset to tap into the coms. You now understood why Mouse despised this part. Being here and listening to people you care about in the line of fire? It fucking sucked.
You were chewing on the end of a pencil as you listened to them call at each other over the coms. One by one you heard each of them call an all clear, each of them except for Jay. “Halstead!” Voight’s deep voice rang out. “Suspects engaged” Jay grunted, sounding like he was on the receiving end of a punch.
“On my way Jay” Kevin’s voice quickly hit your ears followed by Adam’s “On my way” you heard them all circling around to back up Jay in whatever it was he was facing but that didn’t help the fact that your heart currently felt like it was in your throat, choking you. It was a routine bust, he’d survived worse, he’d be fine. The moment the thought passed your head the baby kicked you hard and you inadvertently snapped the pencil in your hand. Routine busts went wrong all the time and if something happened to him..she’d never even meet him.
It felt like an eternity passed but in reality it was just minutes before Voight’s voice came across the radio asking for patrol cars to transport multiple offenders. You let out a slow breath when no order for an ambo hit. That meant Jay was fine, everyone was fine. They were ok and coming home to the precinct in one piece yet again.
______________________________
You heard Voight’s voice drifting up the backstairs that led up from rollup before anyone else. It sounded like he was arguing with someone, about needing to be checked out at med? You stood up and walked over to the hallway. You were just about to reach for the door when it opened to show Adam and Kim. Adam’s eyes widened slightly when he saw you “I tried to get him to go to med. We all did. He swears he’s fine”
You looked at Kim, knowing the panic was written across your face at the same time Hailey slapped Adam’s shoulder “You don’t scare a pregnant woman like that!” before she turned to you “Y/N, Jay got caught off guard by a couple of Monroe’s men. For it to have been four on one he fared pretty well. He refused to get checked out at the scene. Hank’s trying to get him to go to med but he’s being a stubborn ass. We were thinking maybe you could convince him?”
“Fuck convincing him. He’s going” you walked back over and snatched your jacket off your chair and grabbed your keys and phone before following Hailey down to rollup.
She slowed when she got to the bottom step to match your stride and you wondered for a second if it was worse than she’d said. You both stepped down into rollup together which made Kevin, Hank and Jay’s heads turn your way. You sucked in a breath when you saw Jay’s face.
He had a split over one eyebrow, a cut on one lip along with bruising already starting on his cheek bone and was favoring one side. “You stubborn asshole. You’re going to med!” Hank chuckled lightly and Jay glared at Hailey “Low blow getting her Upton” she shrugged “Whatever works”
You walked over to him and leaned up to cup his jaw, turning his head to look at his face better “Christ. You need stitches on that cut over your eye and from how you’re standing you need an xray to make sure no ribs are broken. Why the hell did you come back here instead of going straight to med?” he flinched when you lightly touched his cheek “I’m fine” you looked at Hank “I’m taking him to med. That cool?” he nodded “Take the rest of the day”
You looked at Hailey “Thank you for coming to get me” then grabbed Jay’s hand “C’mon” “I’m fine” he grumbled so you shook your head “I’ll believe it when I read a report that says it” he finally gave up and begrudgingly let you pull him out the side door and lead him to your jeep.
You unlocked it then looked at him “Do I have to make you get in or are you gonna be a good baby daddy and get in because I said so?” he smirked slightly, the action causing his lip to split further and a little blood to slip out “I’ll get it”
You sat at the foot of the bed in the examination room waiting for Crockett to come back in. Jay still sat without his shirt on waiting to see if his ribs would have to be wrapped, he did indeed need stitches over his eye and they had indeed xrayed his side.
You shifted in the chair and he rolled his eyes “Switch with me and sit in the bed. It’ll be a little more comfortable” you cut your eyes up “Jay, you’re the patient” he sighed and patted the bed next to him “Then come sit with me. You made me come here after all”
You stood and walked over to the bed and sat with just a little space between the two of you. You were holding onto being angry with him for not wanting to be seen because that meant you didn’t have to face the fear you’d felt when you hadn’t known the extent of his injuries.
You watched as the indentions from a tiny foot went back and forth across your stomach. His eyes cut over at you when he noticed the movement and you nodded “Go ahead” his large hand slipped onto your stomach, trying to find the baby. “Just start talking. She’ll find you” you urged him and he smiled, eyes staying on you as he leaned down to talk to your stomach “Hey lil bit, how about telling your mom not to be too mad at me. I knew she was listening to the coms back at the station and didn’t want her to hear me engage multiple suspects then Voight roll an ambo”
The baby kicked up against his head and his smile spread further “See? She agrees with me?” you shook your head and put your hand on the opposite side of your stomach from his “Lil bit tell your daddy that it’s better to worry me for a little while and him actually be around to meet you” his hand moved a little closer to yours “I’m sorry Y/N, after everything I just didn’t want to scare you. This isn’t that serious” you shook your head, the anger finally being replaced by fear “Jay, my only thought was how often routine bust had gone wrong and you not even being around to meet her”
Your eyes started to water and his hand covered yours “Hey, I’m here. I’m ok” you turned to look at him but about that time Crockett walked in. He looked between the two of you “Am I interrupting something?” you shook your head “Hormones is all” he smiled softly “In that case I have good news. His cheek and ribs are just bruised. Stitches over his eye can come out in a week. Besides that he’s good to go” Jay squeezed your hand “See? Told ya I was fine”
Crockett shook his head “Jay, from experience never argue with the women in your life no matter the capacity you’ll never win” you laughed lightly “I knew I liked you”
Jay shook his head and pulled his shirt on “In that case I’m leaving” you smiled at Crockett “Thank you” “Of course Y/N”
_______________________
You walked out the hospital next to Jay and he didn’t say anything until you got to the parking lot “I don’t have my truck” you nodded “I know that. I drove you” he opened his mouth like he was going to say something but stopped “Can you take me back to the precinct so I can get it?”
You nodded “Of course. Can we talk?” he looked at you for a moment before nodding slowly “Now or later?” you shrugged “Get your truck and come over whenever. We need to talk about a lot of things, like we each have begun setting rooms up for her at our places but she doesn’t have a name. Stella wants to throw a baby shower soon, we went into this agreeing to be friends and I don’t feel like we are anymore. I miss being close with you without it being weird. I just don’t want her being born and us not being where we should be with each other”
He nodded slowly “Ok” You smiled and motioned to your jeep “In that case, come on”
You were starting to wonder if Jay was even going to come at all. It had been about two hours since you dropped him off and you hadn’t heard from him. So far you’d taken a shower and ate. You were about to give up when you heard a knock on the door and knew it was him.
You walked over and when you opened it he smiled slightly “Hey” “Hey” you stepped back to let him. Once he was inside you motioned to the couch “Wanna sit?” he nodded “Sure”
You watched him sit down and nearly laughed. Poor guy was having to sit like you were having to sit except his was due to ribs and you were due to your ever growing baby. He cut his eyes up at you “What are you smiling at?” you shook your head “Nothing” he grinned “You’re laughing at me for being hurt!”
“Am not!” you didn’t mean for it to come out as a laugh but he was practically pouting. His mouth fell open “Did you want me to come over to make fun of me?” you shook your head and walked over to sit next to him “I laughed because you had to sit like I’ve had to start sitting and I was thinking it was a little funny” he turned to face you “Miss Kidd, that’s a little mean to think it’s funny that the father of your child is in pain”
You shoved him lightly “I did not say your pain was funny. Don’t put words in my mouth” he lifted one hand and touched the side of your face “So you can still smile without it being pointed at the baby, I was beginning to doubt it” you leaned over against his hand “Jay it’s just been a lot” he nodded, fingers gently tracing the line of your jaw “I know. I just I miss the way you were and I hate that I broke you”
Your heart fell at him saying that. Your hand covered his, holding it to your face “Jay Halstead! You did not break me!” he raised an eyebrow and placed the other hand on your stomach “We love her but the fact remains” you sighed “I thought we were past this, did telling Mouse trudge it up?” his hand slipped out from under yours to join his other on your stomach, gently tracing patterns.
“Jay” you spoke his name softly, watching him as he chased her kicks across your stomach “I don’t regret her for a minute but I can’t help but think if this was Mouse’s baby you would have been able to enjoy your pregnancy a lot more than you’ve been able to so far”
“Do you think I’m not happy about her?” you didn’t try to hide the hurt in your voice and his eyes quickly flew up to your face “No no no. Sweetheart I’m not doubting you love our little girl. I know you do but I also know your smile would be on your face a lot more often if Mouse was her father and I was just uncle Jay”
Considering he nearly had his head laying in your lap you slipped a hand into his hair, fingers trailing through the short brown locks. His eyes closed for a moment at the feeling “Jay, I can’t change anything about my life. Would I have wanted some things to be different? Yes. Will I love her any less because she’s yours? Hell no. Honey next to Kev you’re my best friend. You’re a smart, brave and loving man. That’s a hell of a lot more than some women get as a father for their child. You did not break me. The night we slept together I was breaking and so were you, we were drifting and needed each other to not crumple completely apart. This baby is everything good of us, everything good of our friendship, the love we have for each other, the years we have risked our lives for each other and kept each other going”
His eyes opened and when he looked up at you there were tears in his eyes “No one stays in my life.Every girlfriend has left, even Erin. Will has been in and out. Now I’ve lost Mouse” you took in a staggered breath “I’m not leaving you Jay. You’re stuck looking at this face for life pretty much because she’s gonna need us both”
He kissed your stomach then sat up straight “She’s everything” he whispered, rubbing a hand across your stomach. You covered his hand with yours “I know. She already loves her daddy. My kidneys are witness to that” he laughed lightly then cut his eyes up at you “So, you were talking about names?” you nodded and looked around “Let me grab my phone, I started a list”
He pulled his hand away from your stomach and watched you look around for your phone with an amused laugh until you found it on the kitchen counter and held it up with a grin.
“Ew no” you and Jay were currently on hour two of going through baby names. So far all you’d managed to do was freak him out a little because you’d eaten cookie dough ice cream as dip for plain potato chips and when he’d questioned it you’d shrugged “Your kid has weird taste buds”
You had narrowed the list down pretty far. He watched you twirl the pen between your fingers for a minute before saying “Go ahead and cross out Madeline. That was that nurse’s name you got in a fight with the first week you met Mouse” you laughed, because you’d actually forgotten that. All of you had gone out to Mollys. You were already starting to develop a crush of sorts and that nurse had gotten on your last nerves flirting, Erin’s too because she’d gone to the extent of hitting on Jay.
“She hit on you both! I mean, guess all in all I have no room to judge as it turns out but the nerve!” he shook his head “Don’t say shit like that. Hell I say lucky us. He owns your heart and you’re carrying my baby” you cut your eyes at him and felt a little flush of something wash over you, was it guilt for the fact that you did love Mouse and couldn’t love him?
You shifted on the couch again and he groaned “That’s enough” before reaching down to grab your legs and pull them across into his lap. You gasped lightly at how gently he was managing to manhandle you. He pulled you towards his chest to put a throw pillow behind your back before leaning you back. You grinned at him when he asked “Are you good now?” you nodded “Very” he laid a hand on your ankle and grimaced when he realized it was slightly swollen “When did this start?” you shrugged “Dr Asher said it was normal a little”
His fingers found their way around your ankle, working the sensitive flesh. A light moan escaped your lips at the feeling and he froze, a broad grin splitting his face “Been about six and a half months since I heard that” you gasped “JAY!” his head fell back with laughter “I’m sorry baby, that was just a perfect opening to tease you” “You’re so mean” you told him and he shook your leg “C’mon, start back reading me the list”
You turned your eyes back to it “I like Camille but I feel weird on that one because of Hank” he shrugged “I doubt he’d mind but I get your point” “Ok, Adeline?” you asked and he bit his bottom lip “Adeline Halstead..Addy..I like that” you smiled “Yeah?” he nodded “Yeah”
You ran a hand across your stomach “What ya think? Do you like Adeline?” she kicked hard against your hand and Jay laughed loudly “I’ll be damned, we have a winner!”
___________________________________
You hadn’t realized you fell asleep until the muffled sound of your alarm blaring from your bedroom finally managed to filter out to you. You jolted awake which in turn woke Jay up from where he was fast asleep with his hands laying across your lower legs and his head back against the couch. “When did we doze off?” you asked, throwing your legs off his lap.
He ran his hand down his face “I don’t know but I think that’s the most sleep I’ve gotten in weeks” you froze halfway off the couch and looked back at him “Excuse me?” he looked sheepish “I um”
“Jay?” you asked and he shrugged “I don’t really sleep well unless I’m near you..well I mean her” he nodded towards your stomach. “Something happening to me and her?” you guessed and he nodded again “Pretty much, it’s gotten worse since we told Mouse”
“Ones about him too?” you guessed and he nodded “Yeah” you reached out a hand and he slipped his into yours “Jay, same as you’re always there for me I’m here for you. If you need some sleep and being here helps, just call me”
He squeezed your hand “Thank you” you smiled “Of course, now let's get our asses in gear before we’re late and Voight has a coronary”

Previous Chapter / Series Masterlist / Next Chapter
Trudy was good, happy even. No one had gotten on her nerves today and her stomach was content from the donuts she took from the break room.
She expected the rest of the day to go slow, going through paperwork and handle the occasional annoying citizen. What she wasn't expecting was a call from a woman working at 911 dispatch saying she had something Trudy would probably find interesting.
Thanking the woman, Trudy opened up the link that the woman sent her. The voice that greeted her was one she immediately recognised and normally she would roll her eyes but this time, her face blanched.
Without another thought, she buzzed herself upstairs and walked into the bullpen. As a reflex, she scanned the room, looking at each desk which had a person sitting at them but one. Right, she'd seen him leave early today.
Walking into Hank's office, she didn't even bother knocking or checking if he was busy. "Hank, you need to hear this."
Not waiting for an answer even if she received a nod, she rounded his desk, clicking a few things before the audio came up.
"911, What's your emergency?"
"Detective Jay Halstead, badge number 51163, reporting the kidnapping of a Chicago firefighter, cop and-"
Jay's voice was cut off from the audio but it continued playing. Men grunted, the operator asked a few questions but got no answer and then several gunshots were fired before the line went dark.
"Boss, what's up? We caught a case?"
Watching Trudy storm into Voight's office, everyone silently argued who would be doing the honours, Adam pulling the short straw. The question was innocent but the answer was unnerving.
Increasing the volume, Trudy replayed the audio clip. Hearing it for the third time, she could hear the pain and grit the detective spoke with, the amount of men in the background seemed to increase, spiking her anxiety even further than it already was.
"When was this?" Adam asked, trying his best not to worry too much. Jay had been kidnapped before and that experience definitely left its mark with the entire unit.
"An hour ago but Halstead left way before that." Trudy said, remembering when she bid adieu to the detective.
"Right. Him, Will and Y/N went up to their dad's cabin to clean it out. Jay said they were gonna sell it." Adam recalled, backing out of Voight's office and going towards his desk.
"What's wrong?" Hailey asked the question they'd all been thinking. Adam was supposed to give them answers, not pile onto the high stack of questions they already had.
"The Halstead's have been kidnapped."
The silence was unsettling as those five words sunk in. Not just one Halstead but all three had somehow been kidnapped and been missing for several hours now.
"Y/N's phone is offline but the other two put them at the cabin." Adam said very much confused at the information he was reading on his screen. That didn't add up.
"Upton, you stay here with Trudy, you'll be feeding us from here. The rest of you, we're going to Wisconsin."
*****
You winced, pressing your lips together so your cries wouldn't escape, instead you whimpered from the pain. Will was the biggest godsend. He managed to make sure there was no infection, all your wound sites were clean and covered by hundreds of layers of gauze and with the minimal amount of thread, he was able to stitch a few deep wounds.
You had long lost track of time but during the short period Will was tending to you, you became aware of the sweat collecting on his forehead and how his shirt went a darker shade, sticking to him.
"Wh-what happened to you?" You swallowed, poking him gently before pointing to his abdomen. You felt bad for interrupting him mid stitch but you needed to know.
"Nothing." Will lied, trying to keep his breathing steady and even while he finished with you. The pain was unbearable and he could feel his stab wound continue to bleed out; if there was any spare gauze, he'd use it on himself.
"So, what's the prognosis doc?" You said, lips tugging up into a smile, trying to keep the atmosphere somewhat light even if you would fail. At this point, you'd do anything to distract yourself from dwindling into a spiral of what ifs.
"Unfortunately, you're going to live." Will said with faux disappointment painting his face but in reality, he wasn't too sure if what he was saying was the truth or a lie.
You groaned, tutting at the news sending the two of you into a quiet fit of laughter that was short lived when the door was pulled open, resulting in both of you jumping at the loud sound.
A body was pushed into the room, the door slamming shut behind it. You could hear all the locks being turned, the metal scrapping causing you to cringe.
Laying your eyes on the groaning figure, your curiosity disappeared when the unknown figure pushed himself up, showing his face to you and Will.
"Jay?" You and Will said in unison, looking at your brother in confusion. Will very briefly told you about Jay escaping but clearly it failed.
Will immediately got up, stepping away from you to help Jay get onto his feet. He had the occasional bruise and scratch on his face, a few on his hands but your eyes landed on the blood staining his jeans.
"Come one, sit down." Will lead Jay to sit besides you, gently helping him sit up against the wall. When Will was brought to help you, instead of staying in the room you were tortured in, you two were taken back to the basement where the temperature continued to drop each minute.
"You guys okay?" Jay asked, groaning in discomfort when Will looked at the extent of his gunshot wound. "Nevermind, you both look like shit."
"I think I look beautiful." You pouted, replying with sarcasm as you poked his bicep in retaliation. "Thanks a lot for that."
"Your welcome."
*****
Pulling up to the cabin that looked identical to the other three they passed in the last half an hour, the team split up, making sure the entire place was clear before regrouping.
"This place is so clean, it's like they were never even here." Kim shook her head grimly, standing in the middle of the living room, pulling her beanie further down her ears due to how cold it was inside.
"She's right Sarge. Both doors were locked and the cars are locked, still looking for their keys though." Adam suddenly added, passing by in the hallway before disappearing again, most likely joining Kevin somewhere.
"I've got blood." Antonio interjected from his crouched position by the dining table.
Antonio pointed out the spots of blood surrounding a leg of the dining table along with the horribly hidden baseball bat behind one of the chairs, blood on the end.
Kim swallowed harshly at the newly formed information. One of the Halsteads were hurt but by how much time had past, who knew it any of the Halsteads were even alive at this point.
"Just checked the boiler room." Kevin said entering the living room, black gloves on his hand as he held several evidence bags. "I've got two phones, two keys and all their wallets - badges included."
"I want bodies in here and in every corner." Hank ordered, watching Kim get on the phone and call in the nearest police department. "These bastards are hours ahead of us, we have no time to waste."
"Sarge, I've got Trudy and Hailey on the line." Adam joined them, gloves also on his hands from collecting the few pieces of evidence with Kevin.
"What've you got?"
"CCTV and Pods are busted because of the weather. We did see Y/N get in at eight this morning but that's all." Hailey told them, her voice bleeding out the phone from being on speaker.
"Hank, I've been looking at any past cases or people affiliated with the Halsteads." Trudy started, the sounds of paper being shuffled through being heard before she spoke again. "You remember Jackson and Ezra Murray?"
The second Trudy said their names, the entire room froze, dread filling them all. They remembered the brothers like it was yesterday, the trauma they caused for the Halstead siblings was immeasurable and they'd left their dent on everyone who got involved in even the slightest.
"Ezra's dead and Jacksons doing life though." Adam tried fighting back, denial settling in even though it was slowly seeping away. "There's no way."
"Well, apparently there is." Trudy replied, just as confused as everyone else. "And they've got the Halsteads."
"Shit."

HAMMER TO THE HEART — THE FINAL CHAPTER: DANTE TORRES [Summer Writings]
A/N: We made it to the final part of this mini series that had no plans of being a series, which is still mind-blowing for me since I’ve nicknamed myself as “NeverWriteAPart2ESS.” 🤭 This is for the readers who asked if i had any more Dante on my list and here it is but I’m sure it won’t be the last! Thanks for all of your support. Also hope you have either a fun, safe, or chill holiday 💥 I originally had this planned to drop Saturday or Sunday but I’ve been in my writing bag lately so enjoy this (mostly) angst gift ✨
🏷️: @darqchilddaydreamz as always thanks for tuning in, I love reading your responses ❤️
S/N: Seraphina now has a face readers but ofc you’re always welcome to imagine whomever! + rewatched the last two episodes to refresh my noggin—I’m still new to PD and debating if I want to get into it from the beginning due to past ICKS so if some things are/have been inaccurate that’s why lol.
WARNINGS: language, tweaked the original plot just a little, light? discussion of deceased bodies, bodily injury, triggering flashbacks, & a LENGTHY read!
<- read part two here.
𓂃 ࿐ 𓂃࿐ 𓂃 ࿐ 𓂃࿐ 𓂃 ࿐ 𓂃࿐
There’s an unknown number that stands out on Dante’s phone screen. He came to the bar with Atwater and Ruzek, Ruzek briefly disappeared to the bathroom after telling Dante he was ready to kick his ass in some pool and Atwater struck up a conversation with a very flirtatious woman that Dante had to point out to him. It was funny how the taller man tried to get updates on what was going on with him and Seraphina but was being oblivious to the attractive woman that wanted his attention.
Dante’s sipping at his beer when he feels his phone vibrating. Shifting a bit he manages to pull the phone from his pocket, peering at it he swallows the alcholic beverage before swiping across the screen. “Hello?”
“Hey, man thanks for picking up! Uh, sorry to bother you.”
Dante turns his eyes into slits, picking up on the familiar voice, “…Manny? How’d you get my number?”
“Remember my dad who I mentioned weeks ago?”
How could Dante forget? That day on his thirty-first birthday has been on his mind since and after everything that went down, added more disdain for his “special,” day.
Dante felt his eye twitch, “The old cop?”
“Uh huh…I guess you guys still have some type of pull even if you’re retired.”
Dante rubs at his face, slightly irked. Resting his elbows onto the counter he exhales as he thinks about what he should do about this situation. Somehow he chose to brush that off for now and get back to the point of this call.
Dante presses, “…is there something you need?”
It’s not as loud on Manny’s side of the line besides the barking that he scolds before it’s quiet again compared to Dante’s but the buzzed haired cop is focused on nothing but the intent of this call right now. “it might not be anything but my last call with Phina-Mena ended kinda abruptly. And I’ve been trying to reach out to her since and it seems like the call keeps dropping? I was just wondering if you heard from her?”
Dante feels his jaw tighten at this, it hasn’t been easy for him to process that Seraphina’s been keeping this from him at all. Which of course added to the mountains of tension between the two and it’s actually been two weeks since his birthday. Once Voight realized that Dante had a deeper connection to Seraphina than what this case is and felt a way about him getting her involved, Voight made sure to carry out visits to the lab without him.
Which further pissed Dante off.
“You gave me shit about not only becoming a cop but kept giving me shit about the situation with Gloria…and you think it’s okay getting yourself involved in this kind of danger when you already stepped away from it?” Dante felt like his brows were touching, the aggravation burned through his veins as he tossed Seraphina’s front door shut behind him.
The short haired woman continues her walk to the back of her home, to the kitchen, “Nothing about this case is okay and I have valid reasons just like you do with your career and Gloria. I may not fully ever get that second half but it happened and it is what it is.”
Which was ironic to hear since Seraphina was the one who said that she was done taking things for what they were with Dante. Was this all to get back underneath his skin because honestly it felt like she was kinda trying him?
“Yeah somehow I don’t think you’re gonna be saying that if you get yourself killed.” Dante’s usual gentle tone feels like frostbite, making Seraphina freeze in her tracks right in the center of her kitchen.
Relaxing her shoulders she turns to face Dante. His doe eyes are wide and he looks as if he wants to start pacing the floor but Seraphina isn’t in the mood to soothe him, not when his attitude’s been ugly since she made herself comfortable down at the district.
“You’re worried, that’s fine.” Seraphina shrugs, “I can understand that but you’re acting as if Voight handed me a gun—
Dante scoffs, “He might as well have!”
Seraphina argues as if it was so simple, “Tay, I’m working on the chemical end, not the physical. That’s your guy’s area. What you all signed up for.”
It wasn’t only PD’s job. She allowed herself to get thrown back into the true forensics of things. The amount of bodies that ranged from young kids to teens months ago to current time—still children was insane. At first the cases Seraphina’s dealt with, didn’t seem connected to her until she found something in common with each of the youngest children, that high traces of Librium contributed to their death along with specific wounds that ultimately caused them to bleed out.
The darkness was falling and Seraphina did not seem like she was ready to dodge it.
“What we’re dealing with is a serial killer.” Dante states while the woman nods her head being full aware from what she’s seen and before what made headlines, “They’re smart and have been steps ahead of us lately. If they find out that someone else is onto them…then there’s no telling what they have up their sleeve next.”
Seraphina inhaled and exhaled, “Which is why we’re doing everything to catch them and why Voight brought me on. He knows I can help so why can’t you?”
Dante shakes his head, “I never said that. You’re outstanding at anything you do…I just can’t go through having you in harm’s way again.”
She gets close to him now, hand going to grab the side of his neck and he thinks she’s going to embrace him but she just brings her chin above his shoulder, making sure her lips are near his ear, “Well, that’s not up for you to decide.”
And she goes to exit the kitchen, forgetting her appetite but Dante’s not finished as he also whips around, stalking after her, ready to follow her all around the house to get his feelings out about the path Seraphina was throwing herself back into.
The battle was just beginning.
Dante ignores Manny’s question and decides to ask his own, “when was this?”
“Last night.” Manny answers, “l called to see what she thought about the lastest MasterChef episode and we were just about to get off the phone after she took the trash out but there was some…shuffling? I guess and then the call dropped.”
At that moment, Dante felt as if all the air was just punched out of lungs. His head drops and he’s rubbing at his face now, eyes clenched while trying to find some air to bring back into his body. “time.”
“Pardon?”
“What,” Dante tries to keep his tone leveled but his gut was telling him that something was wrong and his stomach’s been funny since he last left his person’s house two weeks ago, “What time did this happen last night?”
Manny blew out a breath, “It was late…some time after 10pm my time and 9 for you guys.”
“You said you heard scuffling—
“Shuffling,” Manny corrected, “but now that you mention it, maybe it was more of a scuffle.”
“Did you try to call back?”
“Course. What kind of guy would I be if I didn’t check on a lady to make sure she made it safely into her home?” Manny says if it Dante offended him but it’s not like he cared, “There was a text sent ten minutes later saying that she dropped her phone, cracked her screen and would probably have to take it to a repair shop or get a new one but I haven’t heard from her all day today and we usually send morning affirmation texts or checking in texts during the day…it’s after 9pm now and there’s still nada. White noise.”
Dante can see that Ruzek’s made his way back out of his peripheral view, “Alright, I’ll get back to you.”
“Great, keep me posted. You now have my number—
Dante ends the call.
When his eyes meet Ruzek’s, his smirk vanishes as Ruzek gets rid of the teasing that’s sitting on his tongue, watching Atwater trying to spit game once he takes in Dante’s facial expression.
“Dante, what’s up?”
Dante’s rapid blinking makes Ruzek further concerned as he lets the words slip from his lips, explaining, “We have to do a wellness check on Nina.”
And Adam doesn’t need to hear anymore, with Dante making his exit before getting on the phone again, leaving Ruzek to toss some money on the counter in thanks to the bartender and calls out to interrupt whatever Kevin and his potential love interest of the night had going on.
When the trio make it to Seraphina’s brick home, Dante only pauses for a short time, his eyes scanning all over the exterior that was basically his first safe space once she brought it and second home. Kevin and Adam both share a look on either side of Dante, tempted to ease his worries but they were loud enough as they stood beside him.
It was a silent conversation between Kevin and Adam, both eyes widening to push the other to say something first but soon they realized Dante whisking by them as he jogged up the steep steps. He stops at the front door and gives a quiet signal for one of the men to check around the back while Atwater chose to follow after Dante.
The door was closed shut but not locked and that was something she did not do. With a twist of the door followed by his foot, he pushes the door open and calls out, “Nina…are you home?”
The home doesn’t feel warmed by her spirit so his mind already told him what he needed to know. Atwater does the honors of going up the first set of stairs to the right while Dante is checking closets, scanning the living room and there’s a closed laptop sitting on the coffee table, before heading down the hall. He passes the second set of stairs, checks the half bathroom, and continues to the kitchen. The house looks as it should and there’s a carton of raspberry chocolate chip Talenti ice cream soaking in the sink, perhaps it’s something she forgot to toss into the trash being too wrapped up in a conversation with Manny…but it reminds Dante of a dark time back in July when they were kids.
That July where their scars got fresh ones.
There’s a snapping that irks Seraphina’s ears, a light so bright that shines against the skin of her closed eyelids. She can feel her neck beginning to ache right at the spinal cord, the weight being too much to bare as she struggles to get the pressure off. It takes time but the light that keeps flickering is supposed to be encouraging and it does get her to focus.
Leaning back against the hard chair, her eyes peel open but the one on the left feels tight and more than sore. Swollen. She tries to blink it away but that feeling is prominent and it makes the space above her brow experience a sensation that radiates to the center of her forehead, leaving her skull to throb. She had been hit with something when she turned away from her trash out back and now she was sitting face to face with the man the entire city was searching for.
“You don’t realize how fascinating you are.” He starts, “At first I thought my one more would only be Hank but then…I started watching you too.”
That unsettling feeling that sunk in was not pleasant. The woman winces as she feels the ties chaffing into her wrists and her ankles, “…this isn’t going to end well for you.”
“I could say the exact same to you.” The bearded man says, emotionless, “But I’ll do you a favor and let you get one last call.”
Seraphina huffs, knowing what that means but slowly let’s the determination kick in trying to buy herself some more time, “Did you really catch me off guard and hit me in the face?”
“It was a spur of the moment thing,” He answers honestly, “Like I said, you originally weren’t my target but I figured a two for one special wouldn’t hurt, much.”
Seraphina licks her dry lips, “tell me…are you married? Children? You should know, hitting women is a punk move but you got bigger problems than that. Kids? I hear the slammer doesn’t play with those that are kid killers.”
He scoffs out some laughter, “I won’t be there. I’ll be reborn, new by then and as for you…that’s to be determined. Are you a Phoenix or a scared duck hiding from the rainstorm like you’ve been doing over Dante?”
Seraphina clears her throat, “does that make you feel better? Speaking on things you think you know?”
He stands in front of the dark haired woman, hands clasped behind his back as he trailed his eyes all over her features, that alone made her skin crawl. It was as if he imagining all the ways to disfigure her face. There was a strong detachment in his eyes that would leave anyone shook.
“I think I know enough. I’ve watched all of you but the most intriguing happened to be: Hank, Hailey, Dante, and you.” He informs, “I needed Hank and I wanted you.”
“For what?” Seraphina quizzes.
He doesn’t miss a beat, “for new beginnings. We can’t take the easy way out but at least the comfort of a loved one in your final moments will make it seem that way. Which is why, you’re going to give me what I want and call.”
Seraphina shakes her head but stops as the pain follows her movements, “sounds like it’s more to give you a piece of mind. You think you provided all these people with peace as you tortured them for nothing?”
He has a cool blade underneath her chin so that their eyes are locked, “is anything really for nothing? Nothing is ever truly senseless. Look at yourself for an example. You’ve been here all your life, wishing on a star for Dante to love you back but maybe it’s a fever dream. Everything that you’ve been through, where you could have been, if only he took the romantic love you have for him serious—is all in your head.”
He’s squatting now, dry hands on Seraphina’s bare thighs. Her breathing hitches as the deranged man pulls the waistband of her Terry cloth shorts forward, “there it is.”
He’s in amazement and she wants nothing more than to spit in his face at him showing her vulnerability in this dark room.
Seraphina doesn’t look at him as he runs the point of the blade along her lengthy scar, “Stop touching me!”
She grits out but the killer can see that she was swallowing the rising tears down.
“Dante does love you beneath his own problems but he won’t allow it because he feels like he doesn’t deserve you. You know that. He chose someone else because that’s a life he’s known. You could have been a new life. Always have been which is why he keeps you close. He’s scared to have a life with you past friendship because of all of the things that happened when you were kids but most importantly he took a piece of life from you.”
The exposed air is cold against Seraphina’s old scar and she can feel her eyes burn; she just wanted this man to shut up and rot.
[July, 2009]
The horn from the opposite car is deafening.
A sixteen year old Dante is stunned on what he’s seeing. The classic mustang rammed into the back of Dante’s new low-rider, which was given to him by the exact man who decided to ram his car into the back of his. Dante’s leaning on his elbows on the hot gravel, trying to find his voice since his car was just totaled but that didn’t matter. What mattered was Seraphina happened to be in the passenger side eating her signature raspberry chocolate chip ice cream while he was outside of it, vibing to, “Forever,” by BBL Drizzy, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Eminem.
Although this was his first car through being involved with the gang, he took pride in it because he knew what he had to do to get it. He had to hide it up the street from his mother but she was no dummy, she sensed the change her in son the moment he returned the favor to his step-father, nearly beating the man to death. He looked up to, “Sad Eyes,” as almost an older brother with methods that gave him the potential to be a powerful man. However he wasn’t sure what this method was? And he scrambled to his feet as he heard the creaking of Sad Eyes’ car, he fell onto his shoulder out of the car, his eyes settling on Dante as he lay on his side.
“Why?! What was this for?!” Dante called out to him.
Sad Eyes just blinked as he spluttered around the blood that escaped his mouth, “Good Luck.” Were his final words.
Dante didn’t have time to process that right now as he circled around the car. His hands go right through the rolled down window to press a shaky hand into Seraphina’s pulse point. It’s moving but it’s too slow. She’s not conscious but the horrors were already settling in as Dante’s green hues followed the path of the crushed car and the iron fence that pierced through her abdomen.
There was blood everywhere. Dripping from the iron fence while pooling into the lap of her white jeans. His heart was hammering against his chest at the sight, she looked dead and that alone felt unbearable. He snapped out of it, hands moving to the handle of the door trying to pull it open but it was obviously jammed shut.
The sirens were squealing through the summer air in the distance and Dante just knew there had to be some sort of motive. There always was with this gang. Carefully he leaned into the window, pressing a kiss to her temple, breathing her in as he whispers, “I’m sorry, Nina.”
That wouldn’t be the last of his apologies. He went into hiding around the empty parking lot, just to make sure that the firefighters got her out and the paramedics got her into the ambulance. Dante was aware that the police would start searching the area but he couldn’t just fully leave his best friend behind. Not when their relationship shifted weeks prior.
Sure he’s thought about it, asking Seraphina to be his girl but he let the members of the gang get into his head. He only told the other youngest member of the gang, who went and ran his mouth to the main two in command: Sad Eyes and Joker about it. Rico aways had diarrhea of the mouth and sometimes Dante felt bad at how hard everyone was on him, until Rico told his business with Seraphina.
A meaningful intimate night that they all clowned him for. That she wasn’t anything different or even special because she didn’t choose to get passed around by them. Seraphina didn’t even want to be around the gang after they disrespected her, especially with most of the members being much older than the both of them. She would never be just some, “bitch,” and they told Dante that he would find plenty more along the way in this life. That did not sit right with Dante so he cut his time short with them that day (plus some days after that but they always came to him when he didn’t want to bothered) and gave Rico a nice busted lip on his way home. He felt bad about it later since the fourteen year old struggled to find his place in the gang and just wanted to be part of something but in that moment? A sixteen year old Dante stood on business, which the gang got another laugh at.
When Dante and his mother, Catalina made it to the hospital Seraphina’s father was just finishing talking to the doctor. It had been hours since Dante watched them take Seraphina away. He waited for his mother to get home from work, keeping his gun nearby just in case any other members dared came to his door, telling her what happened and she didn’t bother putting her things down. She waved him along, mind racing with a million and one thoughts as they left their home to catch the bus to the hospital.
Catalina prayed the entire way, rosary held in both her and Dante’s hands but the younger boy kept his eyes on the city lights that blurred by.
He couldn’t lose Seraphina.
“You piece of shit!” The boulder of a man hissed while yanking Dante up by the collar, “I told her to stay about from you countless of times but she continues to be hardheaded—must of been something you taught her. You bring nothing but poison, you started this. I know you convinced her to hide those pills that got my wife caught out. I know my daughter.”
Dante was breathing hard but out of anger, “you think you do, sir. You think you have the answers to everything but you don’t. You’re the definition of neglect. You neglected your wife when anybody can take one look at her and see that she was about to lose her shit. And Seraphina? The only time you paid attention to her is when you’re looking to point the finger for your miserable life. Tell me, do you really think I’m the only piece of shit here when you tried to drown your so called daughter the night they took Mrs. Coty away?”
“Dante!” His mother’s voice cuts through, knowing her son crossed a line but she never appreciated the way Mr. Coty spoke of her son, and she also wasn’t aware of what he did to Seraphina.
Her hand was resting right on Mr. Coty’s bicep tightly and she noticed the nurses looking, hands probably waiting on the phone to call security to throw them out. Seraphina didn’t need to be alone like this, this much Catalina knew and just needed these two to put their egos aside for the sake of Seraphina.
Mr. Coty huffed as he shoved Dante against the wall one last time, his head hitting the wall as he tells him, “You think you’re so much better? You’ve done nothing but break her and that’s all you’ll ever be, a scared little boy that brings nothing but damage. You think you saved your mother by beating that coward of a man down? You only ended up hurting her just as much and as for my daughter? Two broken ribs, neck sprain, and that fence went right through her pelvis. Do you know what that means? There’s a high chance that she’ll never be able to create life in the future and sure she won’t have to worry about that now but you’ll always be the reminder of what you took from her. That’s all you are, a good for nothing taker. So you remember that when you want to shit on my parenting skills.”
And Mr. Coty fixes Dante’s shirt, condescendingly patting his cheek as he stalked off in the opposite direction of where Seraphina lay. A sixteen year old Dante thought about many things in that moment, one of those being the act of swinging on the older man, there was a familiar look in his eyes that his mother saw so she sat beside him on the floor and brought him into her chest while he clenched his fists, holding back tears.
There was a time back when Dante was in the academy, where he and Seraphina slipped up back in their early twenties. The age of sixteen was the first time but as they grew, it happened again. She slipped into a bookstore while Dante was eyeing a new boba shop that was across the street. He had a tough day the day before and agreed to hang out that Saturday to get his mind off it. Dante knew that he had what it takes but the instructor was a Grade-A asshole and that only pushed him even harder. He easily pinned out what type of cop he would be dealing with and heard the gossip, so he showed his ass just exactly what he was capable of.
It did get tiring and he was exhausted but wanted to be around Seraphina to ease his mind. Seraphina stood across the street, a bright smile on her lips as she had a tote bag full of new purchases that her bank account would give her shit for later when she went over her finances like she commonly did every reset Sunday. She didn’t like what she saw, another woman, with bright copper hair, clearly flirting and being too close to Dante for her liking.
Did she not see that he had two drinks in his hand? It wasn’t Dante’s fault, he was a single good looking man and could do whatever he wanted. Seraphina just messed up her previous date that Seán set her up with because she was too hung up on Dante. It was ridiculous considering that they weren’t children anymore but constantly bringing him up to other contenders was a red flag. She saw that, had to understand how that was off putting because she wouldn’t put up with it herself honestly.
So she took the risk, not wanting anyone else to have Dante as they got into an argument over her shift in moods after their outing uptown. She walked right up to him, grasping his face and planted one right on him. He wasn’t expecting that as he pulled back, silently questioning what that was with curiosity in his light eyes but that curiosity is exactly what led to him connecting their lips again, picking her up and leading her through her apartment at the time to her bedroom.
She’d like to call it a true false positive, taking two tests after the third time. Her OBGYN confirmed it with a blood test and she was happy but scared. Seraphina and Dante were friends, the best anyone could have but they discussed that it couldn’t be more until she ended up wanting it to be more. No one else matched up to him. They were careful—not enough—and she imagined what children would look in their friendship and automatically knew Dante would be a great dad. Just when she worked up the nerve to tell him, waiting days after the news…she suffered a miscarriage alone because of that terrifying injury when she was fifteen going on sixteen.
Asherman's syndrome is what they call it.
“Somewhere around all of it, you still love him and he cares for you immensely. It’s twisted because anyone would have called it quits but there’s something…enchanting about you two.” The killer is back to standing up straight, “I want to hear how much up close so…call.”
Seraphina slowly blinks while she stares at the device the killer is holding out to her, “No.”
The bearded man deeply inhales, putting the burner phone back into his pocket, “tell me something…when you went through your miscarriage…when that abdominal pain almost ripped you apart from the inside out, did you dig your nails into the palms of your hands hoping that would help?”
She exhales, closing her eyes and knows what’s about to happen next. She doesn’t grant the monster with a response as she feels the blade pressing underneath her nail. Her screams did not go unheard in the room close by which contained a non-coherent Hank Voight and once satisfied, the killer whispers as he enjoys the drips of blood that hits the floor, “Take all the time you need but I’ll be back. It’s time to see Hank.”
The state of Dante Torres’ heart felt as if someone took a meat tenderizer right to it. He was right on Hailey’s tail despite Petrovic telling her to stand down. This case quickly became personal for the both of them and it didn’t take long to realize that Voight got snatched as well. The team all knew it was a matter of time and that was not something they wanted to continue to give to Matson.
He wished Upton stood on her stance of shooting Matson in the kneecaps and had his own finger on the trigger to fire. The next moments he blacked out on after seeing Hailey climb in the trunk of Matson’s stolen car.
Eventually he’s heading down the steps, eyes immediately picking up on Matson’s mutaliated body, eyes gaugeed out, brain matter surrounding him, and a knife sticking right out of his abdomen that Seraphina was still holding onto. Dante lowered his gun after putting in the call for the paramedics to make their way down.
“Nina,” Dante gently speaks as he gets down on his knees beside a sitting Seraphina.
He carefully reaches out to touch her bleeding hands but she pulls them back from holding the blade, curling her hands into herself numb to her missing fingernails. “Hey, hey, it’s me, Tay. I’m here, Nina.”
It’s like she’s not here, eyes glossed over but she hears him. “Dante?”
He nods and there’s a sob that rattles from her chest as a bloody hand tries to silence it. Dante springs into action, bringing her right into his arms. His face tightens as he glances at Matson’s body and back to Ruzek who’s tending to Hailey and Voight, he dips his head for him to get Seraphina out of here.
“I’ve got you,” he says to her after repeating a nod to Ruzek, “let me get you out of here, alright?”
Scooping her into his arms, he spins around taking her away from the violence that was inflicted. Hating that he didn’t try harder enough to keep her out of this. Kim nods her head at them on their way by, empathy was heavy in her large eyes as she watched her team member take the love of his life as far as he could.
“I wouldn’t call.” She whispers to Dante in the ambulance, one hand holding his while the paramedic is bandaging her right hand.
Dante hums as he brings her in tact hand to his lips, “I know Mi Corazón…you’re the toughest person I know, next to mi ma.”
Seraphina snorts before her eyes widen, “…you didn’t tell her anything did you?”
“She’s knows we’re going through our bullshit again,” he mocks his mother, knowing that Seraphina’s reaction was valid because as soon as Momma Catalina found out that her babies were up to some bullshit, she was ready to bring out the chancla after embracing them and making sure they were okay first, “but not the specifics.”
“Good.”
Dante scoffs, “good? Not good. I know what happened and you should be more concerned with that than anything else.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Seraphina closes her eyes but Dante nudges her with their clasped hands, “…can we do this later? I’m tired.”
Dante peeks at the paramedic who shakes their head, which lets Dante know that there could be signs of a concussion. “How about this? Let’s talk about the rest of our summer plans?”
“Are you sure you even want to spend the summer with me?” Seraphina wiggles around trying to get comfortable on the stretcher, “I know you’re going to beat yourself up over this and it’s not necessary. I’m a big girl and made myself part of this, not you.”
He exhales through his nostrils, laughing internally that she knew him so well. How could he not beat himself up over this? It was his job to look after her, something they both vowed once they became friends at thirteen. Once he got into the gang in juvi, he made sure he had people on the outside looking out; not only for Seraphina but also his mother until he got out.
“Yeah it is necessary,” he starts but Seraphina doesn’t want to hear it.
“I’m tired of Chicago, Tay.” She shifts the conversation, although the green-eyed man knows he can bring it right back there if he wanted to but he decides to listen on their ride to the hospital, “My parents went to Kansas City as soon as I moved out full time to get rid of all the bad memories so why can’t I do the same…even if it’s for a little bit? My cousin Behati’s been begging me to visit the New England area with her husband and two year old daughter.”
Dante is quiet at this but he shows he’s listening as he lightly squeezes her hand.
“B and Makari always extended the invitation to you too, you know?” She’s hinting as Dante leans forward to press a kiss to her forehead.
He’s met Seraphina’s cousin Behati and cousin-in-law Makari many of times over video calls and the pair seems so full of joy. So positive and compassionate with the intentions of showing that they were good people. Seraphina’s always talked about Behati and hated that she always lived far and cant remember the last time she’s seen her in person.
“You should go.” Is all Dante says, sending a small smile to Seraphina who goes silent at that.
Dante lets out a long exhale after cutting the engine. He knows they’re pressed for time as he’s in the line up, and glances over at Seraphina who peers out the window in excitement. Dante dips his head as they both move to exit the car, she’s fixing the carry-on that’s on her shoulder while Dante pulls out the hard-cover suitcase from the trunk. Reaching out for the handle, they both meet each other’s eyes.
Seraphina offers Dante a smile and he takes it, a soft grin splitting over his lips that she gets a view of the tiny gap in between his front two teeth before he’s pulling her into his arms. He always loved holding her. The feathered haired woman rubs at his back in his embrace as he holds onto her like he’s going to lose her forever.
“I don’t know where I’d be without you and I’m gonna miss you, Nina.” He says as their heads rest side by side.
She laughs, “I know.”
Dante snorts as he pulls back to look at the amusement in her eyes. It’s been a tough time after the events with the serial killer but Seraphina always knew how to keep going and this trip was part of that. She didn’t need anyone’s permission to relocate but she kept talking it over with her therapist—something new she was trying—and with Dante. What kind of friend would he be if he told her to stay after everything?
“How sweet of you.” Dante is sarcastic as he gently rubs the sides of her arms while Seraphina winks.
“I’ll be back after Labor Day.”
Dante nods.
Seraphina uses her pointer fingers to lift the corner of Dante’s mouth who rolls his eyes in return, a smile breaking through on its own, “And if you change your mind or want a little break from this…from Chicago, you know where to find me.”
He places a lingering kiss on both cheeks before hugging her again, lifting her off her feet, “yeah, I do. I love you, have a great flight. Now get out of here.”
She kisses one of his cheek’s back, “I love you more and I’ll text you when I land!”
“You better.” He puts her down on her feet, letting her take her things and watching as she makes her way into the airport.
Once she sends another wave and he can’t see her anymore, Dante circles back around his car to get into the drivers seat. The hammering starts in his chest as he starts the engine, pulling away from the curb and he’s struggling to swallow the lump in his throat.
See Dante wouldn’t blame Seraphina if she decided that she didn’t want to come back. They always talked about seeing what the world had to offer but Chicago was all that they knew. He was glad that she was getting out, although she claimed it was only for a little while, the back of his mind was saying something different.
His eyes flicked to the new ornament that he hung from his mirror. It was a old Polaroid photo, on Seraphina’s fifteenth birthday during a late December, she held up a deck of cards which shielded the lower half of her face, arm tossed over Dante’s shoulder as he appeared unimpressed wearing a red headdress that was Vegas themed and forced on his head for the photo.
Written on the white space in Seraphina’s chicken scratch of handwriting she always had it says: I’ll always celebrate my bday and ur bday enough for the both of us! —Forever your road dog, Nina :)
Dante sucks in some air after glancing at it, blocking his mouth with a shaky hand in attempt to quit the cry that wants to burst out as he puts on a smile.
He really was happy that Seraphina got out, for real this time.
This didn’t have to be goodbye but it was certainly feeling like it and Dante would be lying if he said it wasn’t breaking him.
Guess he’s a sucker for pain and evolving it into something better, which he’s competent of.
When Dante truly sinks into this new found emptiness, a separate shade of darkness, he comes to terms with: not having the reassurance of Seraphina by his side or a simple drive across town where she resides, he’s not entirely sure how this will all play out and that petrified him.
“Torres,” he answers his phone, after realizing that it’s been ringing for a while.
The familiar gruff voice replies, “I need you down at the district.”
Crime was never ending as Dante put his foot to the pedal, flying down the highway to dive into the life he’s built for himself.
And continues to buries the rest.
For now.

Until The Cops Come Knocking
Characters: Kevin Atwater x Black!Reader.
Summary: A simple house call turns into a pleasant surprise.
Warnings: Let’s see, just a smidge of spice. Fluffiness and flirtation included. There are a few sprinkles of profanity. There may be instances where you cackle loudly.
Word Count: 2,700+.
A/N: I know. You’re shocked I took time away from my baby daddy, Rio. It’s just something about Atwater and Halstead, though. Wait until you see what else I’m cooking up for those two. I honestly couldn’t tell you how this random idea came about. That’s the joy of being a Libra. My imagination just keeps going and going. IT’S LIBRA SZN BABY♎️! Enjoy my sweet lovelies.
Song Inspo💞:
Boot-covered footsteps thumped down the winding stairwell of the run-down apartment building. The creaking door of the entrance swung open as both detectives released an exhausted and irritated breath. Both men took in their surroundings as they approached the large pickup truck they arrived in. Seeing nothing lurking about, Jay slid into the driver’s side as Kevin took residence in the passenger seat. The men released another irritated sigh before Halstead spoke, “This damn case has us running in circles. There has got to be something we’re missing here.”
“These dead ends are wasting valuable time. If we don’t get a hold of things soon, this sick psycho will slip through our fingers. For all we know, he could be halfway to Mexico by now. None of these witnesses are going to cooperate.”
“We’ll figure something out. We just have to find a way to convince them we can protect them and their families from this monster. We should wrap this up for the night, though. We’re both too tired to follow up on any more pointless leads. I say we head back to the precinct, check in with the team, and call it a night.”
The men agree it’s probably the best bet as Jay turns over the engine. As they begin the journey back to the precinct, a call comes in over the radio. There are multiple reports of a noise complaint about a party at a property in a neighborhood only minutes from their current location. Atwater shrugs his shoulders at Halstead.
“I mean, we are only five minutes away. Might as well check it out real quick.”
“It’s probably some spoiled-ass rich kid throwing a kegger,” Jay responds. “Let’s just get this over with,” he chuckles, shaking his head.
“It’s strange. This address sounds familiar. Have we ever answered any calls or done investigative work on this street,” Kevin questioned.
“I feel like I’ve been here with Haley or Voight, but I can’t say for sure.”
Kevin gave him a slight head nod as his phone vibrated in his left pocket. Checking the notification brings a small smile to his face. Atwater’s eyebrows twist in confusion as he reads the message. Jay glanced in his direction, laughing at his friend's facial expression.
“Bro? Are you good? If you stare at that screen any harder, it may glitch,” he joked. “What’s wrong? Are you in the dog house or something? And please don’t hit me with that, “who says I’m dating anyone nonsense.” The girls are on to you. You’ve been missing happy hour for months now. Giving us the excuse that you’re tired. You’ve turned down every woman within the last four months.”
Kevin ignored most of what Jay said, returning to the initial question.
“It’s this text, bro. Either words are missing, or I’m being butt-texted. Is that even a thing,” he asked, still puzzled.
Before Jay could respond, another text came through. Kevin read the three-word text and guffawed. His tongue wet his bottom lip before the bottom lip tucked between his teeth. He was fighting the heat from the three words on his screen.
Mamas🤤😈🫶🏾: need fuck daddy
Baeee🙈💓🫶🏾: Oh! That’s how you’re feeling, mamas? I thought you were out with your girls tonight.
Mamas🤤😈🫶🏾: M so tips feels so goods need daddy😩🤤.
Baeee🙈💓🫶🏾: Drop your location, baby. I’ll come to get you. I’ll scoop you when I finish up here. Stay put, love.
Mamas🤤😈🫶🏾:
“I see you’ve deciphered the message. What’s up,” Jay asked.
“It’s nothing, dog. It’s just a little inside joke. You wouldn’t get it,” Kevin lied.
“Your reply sounds suspicious as hell. I would question it further, but we’ve arrived at our destination.”
“Damn! You can hear the music from the gate entrance. Don’t they have security? It is a gated community.”
“They’ve visited this house twice already. They told neighbors to call the authorities a third time.”
“This should be fun,” Atwater responded dryly.
Jay was the first one to approach the door. With a gentle nod, both men positioned their hands on their holsters, and Halstead gave a firm knock.
“Sounds like a bunch of drunk women,” Kevin whispered quickly, releasing a small laugh.
“Dear Lord. It sounds like we’re about to interrupt girls' night. Brace yourself, brother, if these women are as drunk as they sound. It could get a little handsy.”
“If one finger lands on you. Upton’s going to kill you. You have to stop falling for your coworkers, Halstead. You take the term work wife too seriously,” Kevin jokes.
The door swings open, halting Jay from giving a rebuttal. Both men angle their heads down, spotting a redhead who is no more than four foot eleven. Her gaze creeps over the detectives slowly as she mumbles, “Good Lord. Money well spent.”
Jay and Kevin look at each other, confused by her words. They identify themselves, but it goes ignored. Another woman joins the redhead. She appears to be Filipino and just as tiny as her friend. Kevin starts to identify himself, but both women turn toward the rest of the group.
The redhead purrs, “Ladies, get your ones ready. The entertainment is here!”
Both detectives look flabbergasted as they try and correct them. The ladies are seriously inebriated. None of the words leaving the detectives’ mouths are getting through. Red continues, “Ms. Maid of Honor! Do us the honors and get the Bride-to-be ready for her lap dance!”
Her fellow tiny friend squeezes between both men, pulling them inside the house.
“Wait a minute, sweetheart,” Jay tries to reason.
“Hold on there, ma’am. You’re mistaken,” Kevin interjects.
Surrounded by a pack of drunk and lust-filled women, Jay attempts to talk over the boisterous crowd, “Ladies! Let’s keep things calm-.” He’s thrown off as someone grabs his ass. “Come now, ladies. Let’s keep things civilized and respectful.”
Kevin cackles as Jay’s face starts to redden. That is until one of the women starts running her hand up and down the veins of his forearm. The women begin catcalling them, going on about how sexy they are. “If I would’ve known they were sending strippers this fucking sexy. I would’ve paid double. Cuff me, Mr. Officer,” the redhead panted.
Kevin stepped back and politely removed the thirsty woman’s hand from his person. He started to reiterate that they were the actual police. Those words stuck in his throat as he felt dainty arms wrap around his waist. As if that hadn’t thrown him off guard, the unidentified woman began thrusting her hips, humping from the back. Just as he was about to turn around and reprimand the stranger, he heard a familiar voice. To Kevin’s surprise, he turns around to find you, his tipsy girlfriend smiling and slapping his ass. Jay looked at his friend in shock as his face lit up with laughter at your slurred words.
“This ain’t no strippaaa! Back off, you thirsty bald-headed hoes! I’m just joking. Not really. This MY MUTHAFUCKIN’ MAN! My man, my man, my man, my man! We go together. Real bad.”
“Okay, Yung Miami. You need a break from TikTok, baby,” Kevin teased.
Jay, assuming his friend was enduring harassment, attempted to diffuse the situation and calm you down. Kevin releases a deep chuckle, patting Halstead on the back.
“It’s all good, bro. Shortie can touch me however she wants,” he insists, licking his lips and staring at you with hungry eyes. “You lit, ain’t you, mamas?”
Halstead looks on in complete and utter confusion. “She’s beautiful, man, but don’t forget we’re on the clock. Voight would have our asses for indulging in this.”
Atwater smirks at Jay as he shrugs his shoulders. His eyes travel back to your face. Kevin reaches out, placing his hand on your waist. He tugs at you, pulling you into a quick peck.
“Relax, Halstead. Little mama’s telling the truth.”
Jay, looking at him puzzled, waited for Kevin to explain.
“Halstead, I’d like you to meet my girlfriend. We’ve been dating for the last six months. It’s an odd way for you to find out, but yeah. Jay, this my lady.”
Embarrassed, you released a tiny giggle, burying yourself into Kevin’s side. Pulling back, you looked at him in a lust-filled, drunken haze.
“Hiii baby,” you slurred, smiling ear to ear.
Kevin smiled back, biting his lip, “Wassup, beautiful? Listen, we hate to break up a wonderful time, mamas, but it’s pretty noisy. As a courtesy to the neighbors, could you tell the crew to simmer down a little bit,” he said in that tone that always made you shiver.
“Okay, baby,” you smiled, nibbling your lip.
Atwater leaned in closer, whispering in your ear, “Yeah? You can do that for Daddy?”
Releasing a shaky breath, you nodded yes in reply.
“That’s my good girl.”
Jay looked at Atwater with raised eyebrows as you settled the girls down.
“Very impressive. Teach me your ways, bro.”
“No can do, brotha. If it’s in you, it’s in you. Can’t be taught, my man,” Kevin boasted.
You managed to calm the girls down. They all relocated to the kitchen to make a fresh batch of margaritas. Your best friends, who had answered the door, instructed you to find out if Kevin’s partner was single. They trotted off heartbroken after telling them Kevin had mentioned a girlfriend to you before.
You stumbled back to your chuckling boyfriend, who wrapped you in another bear hug. Pulling away, he looked at you like you had been caught red-handed.
“I know you’re the maid of honor, but did I hear the word strippers? Yes, I’m almost certain that’s come up several times since we arrived. You don’t need all that swinging in your face. Come on, my little drunken love. We’re taking you home. Your little ass is about to pass out. How much alcohol have you had?”
“I’ll go,” you stand on your tiptoes to whisper in his ear, “If you take me home and put me to sleep, just the way I like.” You finish, biting his ear playfully.
“That can be arranged…for tomorrow. I want you sober, mamas.”
Kevin laughs at your drunken pout. “You’ll be out like a light before we make it to the house. It’s going to be alright, love. Sleep it off some, and I promise I’ll break you off afterward.”
“Let’s go so I can get you back to your car, bro. You’re not having sex in my truck,” Jay joked, but at the same time, he was serious.
“Halstead, be easy on the jokes now. I’d hate to have to inform Hailey about the many times you got groped tonight.”
Kevin gingerly swept you from Jay’s truck, transferring you to his own. He managed to buckle you into the front seat and nearly made it out of the parking lot unnoticed. His head shot back with an exasperated sigh as the exit to the precinct flew open.
“Nice try, Atwater. We want to meet your gorgeous lady friend Halstead’s exact words. Better watch your girl, Kev,” Burgess taunted.
Hailey followed close behind, hands on her hips and a smirk on her face. “You honestly think Jay was going to keep your secret? Not a chance, Atwater. Before you try to snitch, I already know how he was treated like a sexy piece of meat tonight,” Hailey sassed.
Kevin shushed the women and directed their attention to your sleeping frame. “You two can give her the third degree another time. I’m taking my little party animal home,” he whispered, looking at you with adoring eyes. “I’ll bring her by the precinct to formally introduce her soon. Just not tonight, ladies.”
“Bachelorette parties are the best. I’m looking forward to mine,” Upton sighed.
“Jay should be worried if Burgess is throwing it. I’ll see you two tomorrow. Let me get my sleepy baby to a comfortable bed.”
You had slept the entire ride to and from the precinct. Kevin carried you into his home, taking you straight to the master bathroom. You began to stir as he placed you on top of the vanity.
“How long was I out,” you groaned.
“About an hour,” his lips brushed against your forehead. “Do you think you can handle showering on your own? Or do you want me to help you, love?”
“I want cuddles in the shower. Shit! I don’t have my overnight bag. What about my hair,” you whined.
“You gon’ be good, sweetheart. One second.”
Kevin started opening cabinets and sitting items next to you on the vanity. His face spread into a shy smile when he saw you holding back tears.
“Why the watery eyes, mamas?”
“Two things. First of all, sir. Bless your parents. I’ve never had a man love me this way. Baby, you went and bought all my hair care products.”
The both of you looked lovingly at the pile on the counter. Kevin had purchased every single product you had in your bathroom. Everything you usually brought with you lay there.
“What was the second thing?”
“I’m an emotional drunk.”
“Yeah, I kind of guessed that,” he chuckled. “You can sleep in my clothes. I’d prefer you slept naked, but that’s up to you,” he licked his lips.
“That depends.”
“On?”
“If I’ve sobered up enough for you to slide up in it,” you purred.
“I’d say you’re thinking pretty clearly, love. Let’s get cleaned up. I’m starving, and I got a taste for something sweet.”
“Yeah,” you questioned breathlessly.
Kevin stepped between your thighs, kissing you hungrily. Releasing your lips a few moments later, his hand brushed against the outside of your shorts. “Yeah. It’s nice, soft, juicy, and delicious. You gon’ give me a taste, love?”
“Start the shower before I come all over this counter.”
Hours later, the two of you lay in bed panting and satiated. The room rested in a comfortable silence. Your head rested on Kevin’s chest as his fingertips drew patterns against your naked skin. His lips left a litany of kisses across your temple. He pulled in a breath before speaking.
“Baby girl,” he whispered.
“Hmm?”
“Move in with me. I want to build a life with you. I know it’s only been six months-.”
“Yes.”
“I wanted to ask you another question, though,” he playfully scolded, giving your butt a light tap.
You looked at him and smiled sheepishly.
“Sorry, continue, baby. Either way, the answer is yes.”
“Cool. So we’re getting married then?”
“Ye-wait. What?”
Kevin flipped you both. Lying on top of you, he brushed the hair from your face.
“Marry me, mamas? I know it’s way too soon-.”
You kissed him to shut him up. It lasted long enough to calm his fluttering heart.
“Yes.”
Without another word, he kissed you hard, stealing your breath. Tender touches morphed into desperate touches. In an instant, the room filled with pants and moans as he slipped back into you. Thrust mirroring thrust, as Kevin drove you to the brink of ecstasy until your tired body would no longer allow it. He littered your face with kisses as the both of you whispered words of affirmation until sleep claimed you both.
The aching in your bladder woke you as the morning sun crept into the bedroom. Not wanting to wake your sleeping giant, you wiggled free. Tip-toeing into the bathroom, you quickly relieved yourself and washed your hands. You unboxed one of the toothbrushes Kevin bought, quietly falling into your morning routine. Standing in the mirror brushing your teeth, your free hand brushed curls from your face, and you froze. The toothbrush dangled in your mouth as you stared into the mirror, shock written on your face. Hand frozen mid-air, you gawked at the beautiful diamond sparkling on your ring finger. You startled as a voice sounded behind you. Kevin stood in the doorway, muscles rippling, in all his naked glory, staring at you in the mirror. He walked up behind you, pressing his chest to your back, and whispered against your neck, “I always come prepared, baby girl. Notice it’s the correct size and the cut you like. Do I know my woman or what,” he bragged, finishing with kisses to your throat.
Throwing a finger in the air, you quickly rinsed your mouth and toothbrush. You placed the brush in the holder as you spun around, snatching Kevin’s hand. Pulling him back toward the bedroom, he questioned, “Where are we going, love?”
“Back to bed. I’m going to suck the soul out of you. Then I’m taking my ass to the kitchen and cooking you breakfast in bed.”
Fuck I love this woman.
Hope you enjoyed it, my sweet babies! Reblogs and comments are greatly appreciated!
